St. Clair Township Police
— An officer was dispatched on Oct. 28 at 12:44 p.m. to Walmart for a report of a missing or stolen license plate.
— An officer responded on Oct. 28 at 8:24 p.m. to the 16000 block of John Street for a 911 call in which the caller said they needed an ambulance then hung up. When the officer arrived, they spoke to a female who said her father fell down the steps but had been taken to the hospital prior to the officer’s arrival. The officer then identified all the subjects in the residence. One female when asked said her name was Jasmine Thompson but the officer knew from prior incidents as Kharyzma Thomspon, age and address not provided. The officer told Thompson charges would be sent to the prosecutor’s office since she lied about who she was. Thompson is being charged with petty theft and obstructing official business. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
— A female spoke to an officer on Oct. 23 at 10:03 a.m. regarding a fraud claim. She told the officer she started receiving phone calls in April from Credence but did not answer them. Credence sent her a letter and she checked with her company and there was no such account. She was told there was a bill for $898.36 from Jan. 6, 2022, through April 2022. She told someone at the company it was a scam and disputed it three times. She then received calls from another credit collection company for the same amount. She was advised to check with the credit reporting bureaus.
— An officer conducted a traffic stop on Oct. 28 at 6:04 p.m. on Martha Street for a vehicle with a broken taillight. The driver, Johnny Exline, age and address not provided, was found to be driving on a suspended license and for which he was issued a citation. The vehicle was towed by Calcutta Towing.
— An officer took a report on Oct. 30 at 11:03 a.m. regarding a lost firearm. A female said she placed her husband’s handgun on top of his car and him not knowing it was there drove to work the next day. The firearm came off the hood and was lost on Old Fredericktown Road. Both of them searched the road and the ditches but were unable to find the firearm.
— An officer was dispatched to Burger King state Route 170 on Oct. 30 at 8:24 p.m. for an assault in which the suspect, Michael Stacey, 34, address not provided, stole a vehicle. The victim told the officer that he was parked in Burger King’s parking lot with Stacey in the back seat of the car when Stacey started punching him. The victim said he ran into Burger King and Stacey got out of the back of the vehicle and into the driver’s seat and drove off. Stacey was charged with assault.
