Officers observed a vehicle actively peeling its tires while sitting stationary causing excessive noise and smoke. Officers spoke with the driver Evan Black, Canton, issuing a citation for peeling tires and a warning for reckless operations.
-- Christian Barnes, 22, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle failed to yield when entering East State Street from a parking lot, causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven west by Kay Hefner at 7:55 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 5:55 p.m. Thursday for a reported child custody dispute. The caller advised that his children were not home where they were supposed to be and were instead with their mother, who had shared parenting rights with the man. The man claimed that the mother or one of her family members removed them from the home while she was not present. Officers spoke with the mother, who also came to the police department to make a report, and advised that she never removed the children from the man's home and that they had left the home and walked to her residence a few blocks away of their own free will, and that the children were currently under the care of her mother in Alliance. Officers spoke with both juveniles by phone, who confirmed they were safe, and no harm had been done. Officers advised both parties that a report would be on file.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 5:35 p.m. Thursday for a neighbor's complaint. The caller advised that his neighbor was throwing her property near his front door. Officers spoke with the neighbor who came and cleaned up the property.
-- Officers responded to the 1500 block of Cleveland Street at 5:18 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The caller advised that her ex-husband has joint custody of their children and was supposed to contact her that evening and had not done so. The caller also advised that her son could possibly have a concussion and wanted a check on her children. Officers were unable to contact them at the residence but spoke with the caller who advised she had been able to contact her ex-husband and that they weren't home at that time.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Bank Street at 4:11 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers were advised that a juvenile did not get off the bus due to nobody being present to pick her up, and that the juvenile was at the city bus garage. Officers spoke with the juvenile's mother who advised that it was fine if officers went to get her and bring her home. Officers picked up and transported the juvenile.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 2:20 p.m. Thursday for a report of a small child unattended in the area. Officers located the boy playing on his own front porch and officers spoke with both the child and a parent, advising them of the complaint and to be sure that the child is supervised when outside, and the parent advised he understood.
-- A West Wilson Street resident reported at 11:25 a.m. Thursday his dog was missing and he was concerned someone may have stolen it since the latch appeared intact.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 10:46 a.m. Thursday to assist the Columbiana County Drug Task Force with an open door at a residence. Officers checked the residence and found a man and woman who did not live there. Contraband was collected and turned over to the task force. Officers secured the home and the man and woman were told to leave.
-- An East Fourth Street resident reported at 9:01 a.m. Thursday a known man made indirect comments about causing physical harm to their son. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the area of Brooklyn Avenue and Cleveland Street at 9:23 p.m. Wednesday in reference to juveniles knocking on doors. Officers checked the area but were unable to find anyone.
-- Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 10:14 p.m. Sunday for a report of a vehicle burning tires with a loud exhaust. The caller showed officers footage where you can hear the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Park Avenue at 9:53 p.m. Sunday for a barking dog complaint. Officers located the dog and advised the owner of the complaint who took the dog inside.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Pershing Street at 8:05 p.m. Sunday for a report of telephone harassment. The caller advised that a woman had been contacting him through multiple texting apps, that had been advised to cease contact with him earlier in the week. Officers spoke to the woman again who advised she had not contacted him. The incident will be sent to the prosecutor's office for review.

He advised that the owner wanted to move another subject and he did not want him to. Officers advised the man this was a civil issue and that he should contact his attorney.

Officers advised the caller that since the ex is on the same plan nothing criminal had occurred and it was a civil matter, and that she should contact her provider to cancel the plan and start her own.
-- Officers responded to Centennial Park at 6:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of people in the park after hours. Officers spoke to the man who advised he had stopped to use the restroom but found it was locked. Officers advised him of the park hours, and he advised he would be on his way.

-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Shaker Court at 3:48 a.m. Sunday for a report of an elderly man with dementia that had left the residence, and the family was unaware of where he had gone to. Officers were able to locate the man walking down North Lincoln at Superior and transported him to his family.
-- Officers responded to the Waterworth Memorial Park duck pond at 6:14 p.m. Saturday for a report of an intoxicated juvenile. Officers made contact with the juvenile who was released to their mother.

The caller advised that two of the people had already left the area, and officers spoke with the third party who was a juvenile. They advised they had been in a physical altercation with another female juvenile and her boyfriend. Officers documented the injuries and contacted the juvenile's mother who advised her she would like to pursue possible charges. Officers gathered written statements from the juvenile and a witness and advised it would be sent to the prosecutor's office.

The caller advised that the new paper delivery person had made threats to harm him after an altercation about his speed through the parking lot. The caller said that she was advised by the bank that they located a counterfeit bill while counting the night deposit. The caller advised that the bank kept the bill, but they needed a report on file.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Sunset Boulevard at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for a reported disorderly person. Officers located the person in question, advising them of the complaint, and advised that he was just singing loudly but would lower his voice.

The caller advised that she had been in a physical altercation with her live-in boyfriend, whose name was not listed. Officers documented the injuries and obtained a statement from the caller. A warrant was issued for the boyfriend.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 6:54 a.m. Saturday for a report of a person to be removed. Officers found the man had left the area prior to their arrival. Officers checked the surrounding areas but were unable to locate him.

-- Skylar Barber, 23, Salem, was cited for speeding and marijuana stemming from a traffic stop for a moving violation in the 200 block of West State Street at 10:26 p.m. Friday.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Ohio Avenue at 6:31 p.m. Friday for a report of an irate person. Officers located the person who had left the scene, serving them with a criminal trespass notice.
-- Officers on patrol in the 400 block of East Sixth Street at 6:20 p.m. Friday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The caller was advised to block the number and officers cleared without incident.
-- Officers responded to an address in the 1900 block of Allen Road at 5:57 p.m. Friday to assist the Perry Township Police Department with a domestic. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed. While officers were on scene the sheriff's department arrived and served an active protection order to the man involved.

The man advised that his ex filed a protection order against him and is now attempting to contact him. The caller was advised that the protected person cannot violate the protection order and not to respond to any of the texts his ex was sending him. The man was also advised on how to file for his own protection order against his ex.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 3:45 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller advised that a man was in the parking lot yelling and screaming. Officers located the man on East State Street who advised he did not need medical attention and was having a bad day. The man was advised to stop yelling and causing a disturbance and was given a disorderly conduct warning.

-- An officer responded to the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard at 12:30 p.m. Friday where a resident reported a suspicious person came to her house to report an electrical issue, then left the area when she said she was calling the police. Officers checked the area, but were unable to find the person in question.
-- An officer responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 11:32 a.m. Friday to perform a welfare check on the resident after a case worker reported being unable to make contact with the resident. The officer spoke with the resident who advised he wanted transported to the Salem hospital for medical attention. The resident was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.
-- An officer responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 10:50 a.m. Friday in reference to a theft. The matter is under investigation.
-- Lance J. Steffel, 68, homeless, was arrested on an active warrant for failure to appear after officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 10:41 a.m. Friday where he was requested removed from a business.
-- Damien Phillips, 21, Ohio Avenue, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of Columbiana County after patrolling officers saw him in the area of South Lundy Avenue and East Perry Street at 10:11 a.m. Friday and knew him to have the warrant.
-- Officers responded with emergency medical personnel to the 2600 block of East State Street at 9:04 a.m. Friday in reference to a woman that fell in the parking lot and struck her head. The woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 8:57 a.m. Friday to assist the Columbiana County Drug Task Force. An open door was found and two people were inside. One of the people inside claimed residency and officers cleared when no longer needed.
-- Officers assisted the Goshen Police Department with an OVI investigation by conducting a breath test at the police department at 3:37 a.m. Tuesday. The person in question refused the test.
-- Officers on patrol in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday observed a suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised they were just sitting and talking and left the area without incident.
-- Officers responded to the area of Pennsylvania Avenue at 9:46 p.m. Monday for a report of a reckless operator. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 7:34 p.m. Monday for a report of criminal trespassing. The caller advised that a man was outside the residence and was not supposed to be there. The person had left prior to officers' arrival, but officers contacted him down the street, and it was determined that the person had never been trespassed from the residence, therefore no crime had been committed
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 7:24 p.m. Monday for a report of a person to be removed. The caller advised a man he knew was at the residence, and he wanted to have him removed. Officers confirmed the man did not live at the residence and sent him on his way.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Ohio Avenue at 5:41 p.m. Monday for a report of theft that was later determined to be a civil matter. The caller advised that she is having issues with a person regarding child custody and not returning items. She advised that she is in the process of talking to her attorney and having the custody agreement changed. She was advised to speak with the attorney about another issue regarding a dog, which was also civil. Officers spoke with the other party who had the same concerns and advised that he speak with his attorney.
