County Sheriff
— A woman on Black Road, Center Township, reported at 8:38 p.m. Saturday that there were fraudulent charges on her bank account for $32.
— An open 911 line was reported on Plymouth Street, Hanoverton at 8:09 p.m. Saturday. The homeowner said everything was fine. Dispatch had made contact with a person at the business next door who said there were no issues.
— A woman on Clarks Mill Road, Washington Township reported at 7:27 p.m. Saturday that a person was in her back yard and her cell phone, television and laptop were hacked into. She believed it may be her ex.
— A woman from Lisbon called at 6:55 p.m. Friday to report she was pulled over in the 1600 block of Columbiana Lisbon Road, Fairfield Township, and her husband was having mental issues. Columbiana EMS transported him to Salem Regional Medical Center.
— Deputies were dispatched at 6:23 p.m. Friday to Vancura Pallets on Black Road, Center Township for people trespassing on the property. No one was found.
— A deputy was dispatched at 4:53 p.m. Oct. 27 to a property on state Route 45, Center Township, for a report of two people in a maroon pickup pulling into a driveway where no one is allowed. No vehicle tracks were seen going back onto the property, just the deputy’s cruiser tracks. No people or vehicles were observed.
— A man on Lake Front Drive, Knox Township, reported criminal damaging at 4:11 p.m. Friday.
— A woman on Canal Street, Hanoverton called at 6:03 p.m. Thursday to report a no contact order violation out of Columbiana County Municipal Court.
— A handgun was reported lying in the road on state Route 7 and the exit ramp of state Route 11 at 7:31 a.m. Thursday, but no weapon was found after a deputy walked the area several times.
— A woman on Lake Point Drive, Knox Township, reported telecommunications harassment at 4:23 a.m. Oct. 21.
Lisbon
— A South Green Street resident called at 1:41 p.m. Sunday to report a spouse having mental issues and causing self-harm after a change in medication. An ambulance responded and they requested to go to Mercy Health in Boardman.
— A possible accident was reported near Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services off of Dickey Drive at 1:04 p.m. Sunday, but nothing was found.
— Officers at 10:57 p.m. Saturday assisted the county sheriff’s office in trying to locate an intoxicated female walking in the road on North Market Street, but could not find her.
— Police at 11:52 p.m. Saturday located an intoxicated male lying along the road on East Washington Street, assisted him and gave him a courtesy transport to his residence.
— A resident on North Jefferson Street reported at 2:17 p.m. Saturday that her vehicle parked on the side of the road was hit the night before, with the other vehicle leaving. She awoke to a loud crashing sound between 2 to 3 a.m. but didn’t think it was her vehicle. She found the damage Saturday when she came out to go to the store. An officer noted the vehicle appeared to be struck by a car coming off of South Jefferson onto Spruce Street, with the vehicle pushed about a foot closer to the property it was next to. Debris was located and collected in an attempt to identify the other car.
— A Diamondback refuse truck backing down Thomas Road hill struck a utility pole at the top of the hill at 4:09 p.m. Thursday, causing significant damage. The road was closed and Ohio Edison responded to replace the pole and make repairs.
— Richard Vecchio, 61, state Route 164, Lisbon, was charged with criminal trespassing, obstructing and resisting arrest after an incident in the 400 block of East Lincoln Way at 7:58 p.m. Friday when he refused to leave an apartment and was attempting to take an open container of liquor with him. He was told to leave the bottle, grabbed an empty one and made a motion like he was going to throw it at police officers. He was warned force would be used if he threw the bottle, continued to not comply and had to be forcibly removed, then resisted when being placed under arrest. Just prior to police arriving, a call had come from a business owner who reported Vecchio allegedly punched the window while walking by.
— Police were called at 12:17 p.m. Friday to a domestic dispute on Thomas Road and learned a man was reported to be super paranoid and talked about things off the wall. He was saying some irrational things and had cuts on his legs that appeared to be infected. He agreed to let a woman he knows take him to Mercy Hospital in Boardman.
— Police were called at 10:28 a.m. Friday to Smith Oil on East Lincoln Way where a man stole a Monster drink. He had been in the store just prior to that and paid for two packs of cigarettes.
— A loud motorcycle was reported traveling up and down Maple Street at 11:08 p.m. Thursday, but was not found.
— A reckless driver was reported at 9:14 p.m. Oct. 25 on Lincoln Way, but was not found.
— Loud music was reported on East Lincoln Way at 3:06 a.m. Oct. 25, with the homeowner advised to turn it down.
— A third party caller at 9:16 p.m. Oct. 24 reported a fight in the 700 block of Sunset Drive. The involved parties told police the incident was verbal only. Nothing physical occurred.
— An open gate was found by police on routine patrol at the CARTS garage on Jackson Street. Nothing was found disturbed.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 12:03 a.m. for a person to be removed. Officers learned of a verbal argument between a couple, and that the female half wanted the male half to leave. The man elected to leave and was transported to a nearby business to wait for his ride.
— Officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:28 p.m. Sunday for a noise complaint. Officers attempted to contact at the door, but the tenant would not answer. They did appear to have turned the music down while officers were present.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 8:18 p.m. Sunday for a reported dispute. Officers determined the matter to be a domestic dispute between a couple that was verbal in nature only.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Jennings Avenue at 4:31 p.m. Sunday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that she had just returned home from Florida and that her belongings were removed by her landlord. Officers spoke with the landlord who advised the property was moved due to it being in the way of the house being painted, and none of the caller’s property was damaged in that process.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 1:11 p.m. Sunday for a report of theft. The caller advised that someone had taken a Dallas Cowboys flag off their front porch. Officers advised they would like an extra watch in the area.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 12:54 p.m. Sunday for a report of harassment. The person advised that she had been added into a Facebook group chat and people in the chat were harassing her. Officers advised them to remove themselves from the chat and block the individuals.
— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 11:41 a.m. Sunday for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers located multiple loaves of bread in the intersection and cleared it from the roadway.
— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 9:28 a.m. Sunday who advised that his ex-wife was refusing to relinquish their two children for his court ordered visitation. The man advised that he communicates with his ex-wife through an app that provides record of the visitations. The man requested police documentation of the incident.
— Officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of East State Street at 7:44 a.m. Sunday to check on a vehicle that had been parked in the parking lot for several hours. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised they were visiting with one another and would be leaving.
— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Avenue at 5:48 a.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers found the parties in question were involved in a domestic violence situation, leading to the arrest of Justin Kemaich, 21, Salem, for domestic violence.
— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 2:19 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check on the caller’s wife who had left the residence to take a drive due to being overwhelmed. Officers located her at a business in the area and she advised that everything was okay, and she did not need assistance.
— Officers on patrol in the 2200 block of Merle Road at 11:42 a.m. Saturday observed what appeared to be two juveniles running behind Southeast Elementary School. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
