East Palestine Police

— A resident on East Taggart Street reported at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday that her house was struck by a firework and had caught fire. An investigation is pending.

— Officers investigated an alleged child abuse incident at 5:48 p.m. on Sunday. After speaking to the juvenile, it was determined no abuse had taken place.

— Officers found two THC pens and a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 11:01 p.m. on Saturday.

— Officers responded at 9:57 p.m. to an animal complaint on South Washington Street on Saturday. Officers were unable to locate the animal.

— Officers responded at 6:59 p.m. to a McDonald’s on South Market Street to reports of a man yelling at the staff on Saturday. Contact was made with the subject and no further issues were reported.

— A business owner reported at 5:50 p.m on Saturday that an unknown vehicle was parked in the business lot. Officers made contact with the car owner who agreed to move it.

— Officers responded at 2:14 a.m. on Saturday to a call from a resident on West Martin Street who reported someone was on their property, the area was checked and nothing found.

— Officers spoke to a resident who came to the station at 2:48 p.m. on Friday to request information on orders of protection.

— Officers responded at 10:44 a.m. to a home on West Main Street on Friday to a report of residency issues. The matter was determined to be civil and both parties advised.

— Officers responded at 13:53 p.m. on Monday to East Clark Street to a report of dispute between a mother and son. Officers spoke with both parties and observed no signs of physical violence. The mother agreed to leave the residence for the night.

— A male came to the station at 11:01 a.m. on Monday to report he was assaulted by someone known to him.

— A male came to the station at 9:59 a.m. on Monday to report that he was threatened by an employee of a downtown business and chased to the police department. After speaking with employees at the business, it was determined the complaint had allegedly gone to the business in an attempt to get his job back that he lost last week, and when he was not re-hired became involved in an altercation with another employee and the two exchanged words. At the request of the store manager, the complaint was issued a criminal trespass letter from the business and advised that if he returned to the store he would be arrested.
