East Liverpool Police
— Officers responded on Oct. 2 at 5:03 to Ravine Street for a verbal argument between Sean McCarthy, 27, address not provided, and someone he stated was a friend but had already left the scene. McCarthy was transported to the Columbiana County Jail after being identified as a fugitive from justice with an outstanding warrant out of Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
— An officer working as a school resource officer at East Liverpool High School was informed of an altercation in girls restroom on Oct. 2 at 2:56 p.m. The officer forwarded a report of the altercation to the juvenile prosecutor for possible charges. No additional information provided.
— An officer responded to a motorcycle accident on Bradshaw Avenue where a male was unconscious in the yard with the motorcycle lying in the trees on Oct. 2 at 3:45 p.m. EMS arrived on the scene and began life saving steps on the unresponsive male who was breathing and had a pulse. The male was transported to the hospital and First Class Towing towed the motorcycle.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Ambrose Avenue on Oct. 2 at 10:50 p.m. for a dog attack on a cat. Due to the location of the cat, no one was able to get near it to put it down.
— Officers arrived at Fawcett Apartments on Moore Street on Oct. 2 at 1:47 a.m. after receiving a request from a resident to speak with them regarding a possible burglary. Officers spoke to the resident and found the complaint to be unfounded.
— An officer working as a school resource officer at East Liverpool High School heard a commotion outside the front door on Oct 2 at 8:03 a.m. He made contact with Principal Jay Kiger who was speaking with an unnamed juvenile and the juvenile’s father. Kiger told the officer the juvenile had assaulted his father. After the officer viewed camera footage from the school, the juvenile tried to run away. The juvenile was stopped and transported to the police department and then released to his father with charges pending.
— Officers spoke with a female at Fawcett Apartments on Moore Street on Oct. 2 at 12:46 p.m. about threats previously made to her. The female wanted a report filed.
— Officers stood by at a residence in the 100 block of Pauls Lane on Oct. 2 at 8:30 p.m. while a female retrieved her belongings from the house.
— Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of George Street for a couple fighting on Oct. 3 at 4:06 p.m. The male wanted his ex-girlfriend out of the home. He was told that the officers could speak to her but could not remove her.
— Officers were dispatched on Oct. 3 at 4:03 p.m. to the 700 block of Daisy Lane for a female trying to get into a residence. The female said it was her brother’s house. She was told by officers her brother did not want her there.
— A resident of St George Street requested on Oct. 2 at 1:26 a.m. that officers check on a barking dog. Officers responded but did not find anything.
— A female called the police department on Oct. 3 at 6:27 p.m. to tell them she was at a residence in the 1300 block of Erie Street and she wanted to get inside to get her belongings. Officers dealt with the same situation the day before and the resident told officers he does not have her belongings. The female was told by officer to leave the residence immediately.
— The school truancy officer was assisted by an officer in doing a welfare check on a child that had not been in school for a week. On Oct. 3 at 12:45 p.m. the officer went to the student’s residence in the 500 block of Wilbert Avenue but did not make contact with anyone.
— A female told officers on Oct. 3 at 3:44 p.m. that a juvenile accused her son of stealing a pumpkin, but she was unsure of the juvenile who made the false allegations. A report was filed.
— An officer responded to East Liverpool City Hospital on Oct. 3 at 1:39 a.m. to stand by for a disruptive patient.
— An officer responded to the Dollar Tree parking lot on Oct. 3 at 12:04 p.m. to check on a dog left in a car. The officer noted that the front driver and passenger side windows were cracked open, and the car was parked in a shaded area. The dog did not appear to be in distress.
— A male came to the station on Oct. 3 at 9:44 a.m. to speak with officers about a dog complaint at his residence the week prior. He told officers someone opened a window on his house in the 800 block of Oak Street during the incident and he wasn’t sure if it was a neighbor or the dog warden and wanted a report filed.
— Officers dispatched on Oct. 4 at 6:12 p.m. to a house in the 700 block of Price Street that had been vandalized with racist obscenities spray painted on it. The homeowner had washed the paint off before the officers arrived.
— Officers went to Daisy Lane on Oct. 4 at 6:20 p.m. to check on two kids reportedly playing in an abandoned house. Officers checked the house but found no children.
— Officers spoke with a male on Ravine Street regarding damage done to his vehicle. Officers arrived on Oct. 4 at noon and the male told him that he had a verbal argument Norman Sleper, 56, address not provided, who hit his mirror, breaking it. Sleper admitted to breaking the mirror and was transported to the police station and charged with criminal mischief and given a court summons.
— A male came to the police station on Oct. 4 at 4:22 p.m. to report a female coming to a Dresden Avenue residence and letting her children ride dirt bikes around the yard. The male said he told them to stop, and he and the female got into an argument where she threw rocks at him and then attempted to hit him with her car. The male’s girlfriend later came to the station and the male and female had gotten into an argument but they both left, and no one was almost hit by a car and no rocks were thrown. The girlfriend told officers she wanted the cell phone back that she let the male use and was told that was a civil matter.
— Officers responded on Oct 4 at 6:16 to The Market Street Lofts for a tenant and former tenant trying to get her belongings.
— An officer assisted a Liverpool Township officer on a traffic stop on Parkway Ave on Oct. 4 at 10:03 p.m.
— An officer observed a barge with an audible alarm going off on Oct. 4 at 6:44 p.m. The barge was about 30 feet away from the bank and the officer did not see anyone on it. Dispatch was to try to contact someone.
— Officers responded to a noise complaint on Etruria Street on Oct 4 at 5:47 a.m. Officers sat in the area but were unable to hear anything. Officers made contact with the homeowner and told them if they were playing loud music and working to keep it down until the daylight hours.
— An officer advised a female who was yelling in the Oddfellows parking lot to leave the property on Oct. 4 at 11:33 a.m.
— An officer spoke with a male at the Vista Motel who wanted to file a report of his vehicle being stolen on Oct. 4 at 2:01 p.m. The officer spoke with a neighbor who said a tow truck took the vehicle earlier in the day. The officer then told the male that he would probably need to contact the bank about the vehicle.
— An officer searched the area of Northside Avenue on Oct. 4 at 5:31 p.m. for a dirt bike driving on the roadway but did not find one.
— An officer made a traffic stop for speeding on Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. and let the driver go with a verbal warning.
— An officer told a female yelling in the 200 block of Wilbert Avenue on Oct. 4 at 9:45 a.m. to stop yelling and go inside.
— Officers spoke to roofers working on a building on Northside on Oct. 4 at 9:37 a.m. and told them to turn their music down to a reasonable level.
— Officers responded on Oct. 4 at 4:11 p.m. to the 9th street playground for a report of a teenager running in fear from other children. Officers checked the area but were not able to make contact with anyone.
— An officer working as a school resource officer at East Liverpool High School took a report on Oct. 8 at 3:23 p.m. of an assault that happened in the stairwell of the school. A report will be forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor for possible charges.
