County Sheriff
— Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers responded at 1:05 a.m. Friday to state Route 45 for a male with an alleged mental health crisis who jumped from a bridge on state Route 11 at Y & O Road. Once located, the male was checked for injuries on the scene by West Point Fire. He allegedly became uncooperative and disorderly by yelling and causing a disturbance with his family on the scene. He was warned several times about his actions, but continued. Gregory Scott Marriner, 35, Thomas Road, Lisbon, was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the county jail. He appeared for arraignment in county Municipal Court Friday morning, with a pretrial set for Jan. 22. He was released from jail.
New Waterford
— Officers responded to the 47000 block of state Route 46 at 10:18 p.m. Oct. 25 in reference to a disturbance in which a knife was shown to the homeowner by a person not known to her. Officers determined no threats were made and nothing criminal activity had occurred.
— Officers spoke with a woman at 9:24 a.m. Oct. 24 in reference to an assault that had taken place a few days prior. Officers determined the incident occurred in separate jurisdiction and the woman was advised to contact the police department where the incident occurred.
— Officers spoke with a woman in the 3800 block of West Main Street at 9:34 p.m. Oct. 23 who reported telecommunications harassment involving an ex-boyfriend. Officers contacted the suspect to advise him cease contact with the complainant or face criminal charges.
— Officers responded to the 46000 block of Waynewood Drive at 4:44 p.m. Oct. 20 in reference to possible child abuse. After an investigation, the allegation were determined unfounded, but the incident was forwarded to children services for review.
Salem
— An officer responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 1:58 p.m. Saturday in reference to an individual who attempted to leave a business with several items with paying for them. The business opted not to pursue charges and the person who had driven the individual to the business provided payment for the items.
— An officer responded to the 800 block of Homewood Avenue at 1:48 p.m. Saturday in reference to a resident who was trapping squirrels. The resident admitted to trapping the squirrels, which he said were tearing up his chimney, roof and siding. He was advised the trapping of animals is prohibited in the city and advised to contact an exterminator.
— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Oak Street at 11:52 a.m. Saturday to perform a welfare check on a man who was found to be intoxicated.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Whinnery Road at 10:27 a.m. Saturday in reference to a resident making threats of self harm. Officers spoke with the resident who said she was fine and just going through a rough break-up. A family member arrived and agreed to stay with the resident for the rest of the day.
— An officer on patrol at 11:21 p.m. Friday observed a man using a leaf blower to blow leaves in yard in the 900 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The man was advised of the city noise ordinance.
— Officers responded to a business in the 600 block of East State Street at 9:47 p.m. Friday in reference to a fight between multiple people and found several people leaving the establishment getting onto a party bus, learning there had been a shoving match between two people, but no brawl. The two people involved had already been separated before officers arrived.
— A West Pershing Street resident reported at 6:32 p.m. Friday he has court ordered visitation with his children every other weekend and when he attempted to pick up his children in Mineral Ridge his ex-wife wouldn’t even left him see his children. He said he was advised to contact the his local police department for a report.
