County Sheriff

— A deputy assisted Goshen Township police with a possible burglary in progress call at 12:11 a.m. Saturday on Salem Unity Road, Green Township, in Mahoning County. The person said everything was fine.

— A disturbance was reported at 10:59 p.m. Friday on Lisbon Road, Salem Township, where a woman said she lives with a man who was refusing to give her a ride to a location on U.S. Route 30, West Township. He told deputies he was refusing to give her a ride because his license is suspended. They were told to separate for the night.

— Suicidal threats were reported at 6:10 p.m. Friday on West Egypt Road, West Township. The person was transported to a hospital by a family member.

— A deputy was dispatched at 6:14 p.m. Thursday to Poland Road, Unity Township, for a domestic dispute.

— Sebring dispatch called the sheriff’s office at 2:08 p.m. Thursday for a report of a male slumped over the wheel of John Deere tractor in the 25000 block of U.S. Route 62, Knox Township, but nobody was found.

— A welfare check was requested at 8:49 p.m. Oct. 18 on Homeworth Road, Knox Township, but the person was fine.

— Minerva police called at 5:22 p.m. Oct. 18 to report an anonymous call about a person with warrants out of Stark County walking in the area of West Egypt Road at Lowmiller Road, West Township. They had a unit enroute. Dispatch then advised that Minerva police made contact with the man and he wasn’t the person wanted on the warrants.

— Suspicious activity was reported on Fairfield School Road, Elkrun Township, at 3:53 p.m. Oct. 18 for a riding lawn mower that was found on the property.

— An alarm drop was reported at 4:16 p.m. Oct. 17 on Hartley Road, Butler Township, but all doors and windows on the ground level were secure.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 2:41 p.m. Oct. 15 on Salineville Road West, Salineville speeding and back firing from the exhaust. Nothing was found.

— A Butler Township woman reported at 6:24 p.m. Oct. 13 that her vehicle was damaged while parked in the parking lot of her employer, Ag Pro, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township.

Lisbon

— Loud music was reported at 2:47 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of North Market Street where the homeowners advised they would turn it down.

— Police responded at 10:07 a.m. Thursday for wires down in the 100 block of West Pine Street and learned they were phone cables.

— Lisbon police were contacted at 2:45 a.m. Thursday regarding a report that Salem Regional Medical Center was on lockdown from a man who left notes threatening the hospital and a doctor. His last known address was North Market Street, Lisbon, and a request was made to check for him at the address. A resident who just moved in said the man doesn’t live there anymore.

— A stolen or missing vehicle was reported at 6:57 p.m. Oct. 17 from a West Washington Street property where the registered owner had gone inside and then returned outside later to find his vehicle gone. He still had his car keys and he had called police to see if a repossession was reported, but there was no report. He admitted to being behind a few payments. An investigation was pending.

— Officers responded at 9:26 a.m. Oct. 17 to the Morning Journal for a report of counterfeit money. Officers found the $10 bill to be counterfeit and disposed of it properly.

— A suspicious male was reported at 8:18 a.m. Oct. 17 looking in a vehicle in the 300 block of East Lincoln Way. Officers spoke to him and everything checked okay.

— Multiple 911 hangup calls were reported at 11:36 p.m. Oct. 15 in the 300 block of West Pine Street. A woman said she had called earlier in the day over concern for her boyfriend, but he was no longer there.

— An alarm was reported at 4:29 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Lisbon Post Office off of Dickey Drive, but all doors and windows appeared secure. A key holder was enroute to the location for the alarm.

— An officer pulled into the Circle K parking lot on North Market Street at 4:47 a.m. Oct. 15 when a man came over and advised his dogs locked him out of the car. The officer and car owner were unable to gain access, so Baker’s Towing was called and made entry.

Columbiana

— Officers were contacted by a complainant at 6:26 p.m. Friday on East Duquesne Street, reporting they believed they were scammed.

— A woman barricaded in her bathroom called 911 at 7:55 p.m. Friday after allegedly being assaulted and held against her will by an ex-boyfriend at a residence on Colonial Drive. Johnathan Vinkler, no age provided, Petersburg, was arrested and charged with assault and unlawful restraint.

— David L. Conrad, 75, of Leetonia was arrested and charged with OVI following a traffic crash on state Route 14 at 7:49 p.m. on Thursday.

— Katherine Nagel, 35, of Leetonia was arrested on an active warrant at 3:08 p.m. Thursday on Springfield Road.

— Officers responded to the parking lot of Sparkle for a private property crash report at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday.

— Officers responded to deceased person at 9:59 a.m. Oct. 15 on South Main Street. Indications led officers to believe that the person died of medical complications and nothing criminal had occurred.

— Officers took part in a consultation regarding a previous domestic violence situation with a juvenile offender at 12:44 p.m. Oct. 14. on Cross Street.

— Jamelle Jones, 35, Youngstown, was arrested and charged with OVI following a traffic stop on state Route 7 near Athletix at 11:44 p.m. Oct. 13.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Washington Avenue at 1:25 a.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that her sister and her boyfriend had been fighting and it was starting to get physical. Officers spoke with the woman, observing visible bruising, blood and torn clothing. Officers separated both parties observing some signs of assault on the male party. Officers determined both were juveniles and the female’s mother was present and did not want to pursue charges. She agreed to drive the male party home to Minerva and was advised to notify the guardians of the male to contact the police department.

— Officers responded to the area of West Third Street at 10:11 p.m. Sunday for a report of a vehicle with loud exhaust. Contact was made with occupants of the vehicle who were trying to push the vehicle up West Third Street to get it off the roadway after it became disabled. The vehicle was coasted down the hill and into the parking lot of Lincoln Machine for the evening. The owner was advised to get the vehicle out first thing in the morning and to contact the business if he couldn’t to let them know. Officers provided the occupants with a ride to their home.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 8:06 p.m. Sunday for a runaway juvenile complaint. The caller advised that her son had left the house without her permission and would not advise her where he went. Officers had the mother fill out a missing person form and the juvenile was entered into LEADS. Officers were able to locate the juvenile a short while later at a friend’s house and brought the juvenile back home, and the juvenile was removed from LEADS.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 5:35 p.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with a man with a language barrier, who advised that he and his wife had a verbal altercation prior to the officers’ arrival. It was determined with the assistance of an interpreter that the couple had been arguing but nothing physical had occurred.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 4:10 p.m. Sunday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with the involved parties placing a 15-year-old juvenile male from Salem in custody for domestic violence. The juvenile was transported to the police department for processing and then transported to the Tobin Center.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 3:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers checked the area locating the juvenile in the 400 block of East Sixth Street, and the caller was notified to pick the juvenile up.

— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 3:20 p.m. Sunday for a report of internet harassment. The woman advised her juvenile daughter was being threatened by another juvenile who lives in Pennsylvania via text messages. The caller was advised of her options and the protection order process.

— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 2:29 p.m. Sunday about issues she was having with her juvenile son. Officers spoke with the caller, and she was provided with some options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East State Street at 12:11 p.m. Sunday for a report of internet harassment. The caller advised they had been receiving unwanted contact from a person known to him. The caller was provided with options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 10:58 a.m. Sunday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties who advised the incident was verbal in nature only over relationship issues. The female half left the resident to go to work and the male half was unsure whether he was going to stay at the residence or get a hotel room for the night,

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:38 a.m. Sunday observed a man screaming and hitting property in the area. Officers spoke with the man, issuing him a warning for disorderly conduct and advising him to go home without further incident or he would be arrested.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 12:14 a.m. Sunday for a report of criminal damage. Officers found someone had egged a car as it was driving on the roadway. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone in the area.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Morris Avenue at 8:36 p.m. Saturday for a report of an unwanted person. When officers arrived, the female party had already left the residence. The owners of the property requested the woman be trespassed and officers located the woman at her residence in the 100 block of Highland Avenue. The woman was issued a criminal trespass notice.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Fifth Street at 7:11 p.m. Friday for a report of an argument over a civil matter. All parties involved advised the situation was resolved.
