— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue at 12:59 a.m. Monday for a report of a rock being thrown through a resident’s car window. The owner explained they were on their way to work when they felt cold wind coming through the back and noticed the back window had been smashed out by a large rock. Photos were taken of the damage, and officers checked the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity. The time of the damage is unknown as the owner had only noticed it that evening.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 11:25 p.m. Sunday for a juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the guardians, who advised that the juvenile was not acting right and possibly under the influence of something. The juvenile was transported by EMS to Akron Children’s Hospital.

— Jacob Bails, 48, Salem, was cited for a traffic light violation after his eastbound vehicle on East Pershing Street failed to stop at a red light and struck a vehicle driven north on Southeast Boulevard by Robert Miles, 76, Salem, at 6:34 p.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported; however, EMT was contacted due to concerns over one of the drivers having a pre-existing heart condition and Miles was ultimately transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 9:22 a.m. Sunday. Officers gathered some information from the individual which will be forwarded to another officer that is already familiar with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 4:53 a.m. Sunday for a report of a person driving a piece of heavy equipment around a parking lot. Officers spoke with the person who explained he had driven there from his residence to get treated but couldn’t be due to having his dog with him. Officers transported the person back to their residence to put the dog in its kennel and then transported them back to the hospital to get treatment.

— Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the police department at 3:16 a.m. Sunday with a person brought to the department for OVI.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Pershing Street at 11:29 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that a person had come onto the porch of their residence and abruptly left. The caller did not believe anything was stolen from the property but wanted to have the incident documented. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:22 p.m. Saturday for a reported hit and skip accident. Officers were advised that a red Ram truck had been backed too far, striking the caller’s vehicle, which was legally parked, doing heavy damage to the driver’s side. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle but were unable. The matter remains under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 10:07 p.m. Saturday to assist EMT with a patient. The patient was cooperative and went with EMT without issue.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:25 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised a white sedan had been driving past her house slowly multiple times. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 6:53 p.m. Saturday for a report of a vehicle versus bicycle accident. Officers found that while the vehicle was turning into a parking lot, a bicycle with no lights riding on the roadway struck the right rear of the vehicle. The pedestrian on the bicycle, whose name was not listed, was assessed by EMS and transported to St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Youngstown. Officers obtained photos of the vehicle and the bicycle involved. Officers then found the driver of the vehicle, Roger Mullet, was driving under suspension and had an active warrant for his arrest out of Columbiana County. Mullet was cited for driving under suspension and transported to Columbiana County Jail on the warrant.
