County Sheriff

— A business on U.S. Route 62 reported at 11:44 a.m. Sept. 22 that a customer didn’t return a motorcycle seat after a test run. The customer never returned the seat and the credit card on file failed to process. The woman from the business was told it’s a civil matter. A deputy made contact with the customer and advised him of the complaint and to contact the shop to resolve the issue.

— A woman from state Route 170, Middleton Township, reported at 9:03 a.m. Sept. 22 that $250 was taken from her account.

St. Clair Township

— An officer was dispatched to the 15000 block of St. Clair Avenue on Sept. 11 at 5:32 p.m. for a domestic between a mother and a child. Officers met with the juvenile’s father who showed them a video of the mother assaulting her daughter with a broom. The officer spoke to Amanda Willis, 33, and placed her under arrest and charged her with domestic violence. She was transported to the Columbiana County Jail on her charges.

— An officer responded to the 15000 block of Summit Drive for a well-being check on a female who hadn’t been seen in several days. The officer arrived to find the female injured and in need of medical assistance. NorthStar responded and transported the female to the hospital.

— An officer took a report from a female on Sept. 13 at 9:22 a.m., who reported that after getting home from Planet Fitness she realized someone hit her vehicle.

— An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on state Route 267 on Sept. 13 at 3:05 p.m. for a vehicle with an expired registration. The vehicle pulled into a driveway on Cannon Mills Road and the driver jumped from the car and ran into the residence. The driver, identified as Perry Wells, 45, address not provided, was placed under arrest and charged with obstructing official business and given a summons to appear in court.

— An officer responded to Walmart on Oct. 14 at 4:20 p.m. for a female shoplifter. Donna Jones, 23, address not provided, was charged with petty theft for failing to scan two items totaling $30.96. She was issued a summons to appear in court.

— A female came to the police department on Sept. 14 at 5:28 p.m. to file a report against a male against whom she has a protection order.

Liverpool Township

— An officer conducted a traffic stop on state Route 7 on Oct 4 at 12:19 a.m. for a vehicle traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph-zone. Nasr Alnardeai, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for speed.

— An officer conducted a traffic stop on state Route 7 on Oct. 8 at 11:25 p.m. for a vehicle traveling 75 mph in a 55-mph zone. Dylan Sontag, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for speed.

— An officer, after hearing dispatch attempt to do several checkups on city officers with no response on Oct. 10 at 1:36 a.m., proceeded to a residence on Vine Street where the officers were responding to a call of someone possibly climbing into the window of an occupied house. The officer made contact with the other officers who were OK and said they were in the basement and did not hear the checkup attempts.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Carolina Avenue on Oct. 10 at 8:32 a.m. for a domestic dispute. Officers made contact with the female resident who said that a verbal dispute turned physical with her husband Allen Watson , no age listed, who officers charged with domestic violence.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 12:43 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an assault that took place earlier in the evening. Officers spoke with both parties and neither wanted to pursue any charges.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 7:15 p.m. Monday to speak with the caller about an argument that occurred between him and a resident about an hour prior to the time of the report. The caller advised that the person had come up to him and begun to verbally bash him over an issue with money being owed and the two got into a screaming match. The caller advised they had gotten into each other’s faces and were separated by staff, but nothing physical had occurred. When the resident went back down the hallway to his room in the facility, he apparently ran over a staff member’s foot who had recently had surgery on her legs and the staff member went to the hospital. The caller wanted a report on file due to the staff member’s injury.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Street at 5:17 p.m. Monday for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers located the juvenile walking down the sidewalk with the caller, who wanted the juvenile to be transported to Akron Children’s in Boardman due to her behavior. EMT transported the juvenile.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Rose Avenue at 4:57 p.m. Monday for a report of two juveniles smoking marijuana. Officers located two juveniles matching the description, but neither was smoking when officers arrived. There was an odor of marijuana in the area and both juveniles were advised of the potential consequences. Both denied the allegation, but advised they understood.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 3:43 p.m. Monday for a report of a dog at large. When officers arrived, the owner was located and the dog was secured, and a warning was given for dog at large.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East School Street at 2:26 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the person in question at a nearby residence finding everything to be fine.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 12:37 p.m. Monday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that they had seen a man look underneath their bus then walk away. The caller said that the bus started and sounded normal, but they were going to have a mechanic look at it. Officers advised that a report would be on file and that an extra watch of the area would be conducted.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of East Pershing Street at 10:05 a.m. Monday for a report of harassment. The caller advised she was receiving several calls and voicemails from her ex-husband, and said he was going to spank their juvenile daughter in one of the messages. Officers advised her to block the number and not answer any unwanted phone calls. The caller advised she just wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 8:51 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman in question through the door, and visually saw her.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 7:03 a.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the given description.

— Officers responded to the area of North Union Avenue and Cleveland Street at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile complaint. The anonymous caller advised that multiple juveniles had been in the area yelling and screaming for the past hour. Officers checked the area along with several surrounding streets but did not hear or locate any juveniles around.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of West Sixth Street at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday to assist another agency with a situation involving a resident. Officers checked the area and surrounding homes to verify that everything was okay, which it was.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eight Street at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a dog at large. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate it.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a woman trespassing on private property. Officers located the woman, advising her of the trespassing complaint and that she was criminally trespassed. The woman requested an ambulance due to a cut on her leg and she was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday for a possible domestic. Officers spoke with two adult sisters that were visiting one another, and found them to have had a brief verbal argument, but everything was fine. They both departed the area and went to their separate homes.

— Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal trespassing. Officers have been aware of two people living in a tent in the wooded area and were contacted by the owner’s family who advised they had observed two people walking on the property with flashlights. Officers entered the wooded area and checked it extensively for several minutes, but nobody was located.

— Griffin Hardy, 20, Sebring, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after a vehicle driven by them and owned by David Harris struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Joseph Toporcer Jr., 42, Salem, at 12:21 p.m. in the area of Penn Avenue and East State Street. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 9 a.m. Tuesday for a report of two dogs running at large. Officers were able to secure the animals and return them home. The owner of the dogs was given a warning and advised they could be cited if their dogs were to get loose again.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Broadway Avenue at 8:54 a.m. Wednesday to speak with the caller about a male juvenile that is friends with their daughter.

East Liverpool

— An officer on Sept. 10 at 9:29 p.m. attempted to make a warrant arrest on Logan Blake, age and address not provided, who was a wanted person. When Blake was advised he was under arrest he ran and the officer was unable to catch up with him.

— An officer conducted a traffic on Webber Way on Sept. 10 at 5:37 a.m. after observing a vehicle crossing over the line while making a turn. The driver, Travis McKinnon, 46, address not provided, was issued citations for driving under the influence and fictitious plates. Prior to calling First Class Towing to tow the car, officers searched the vehicle and charged McKinnon for drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments and advised him of charges that would be pending BCI testing results of substance found in the vehicle. McKinnon was transported to jail.
