Lisbon
— Police responded to the 800 block of North Market Street to check on a 911 hangup call reported at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday. Multiple residences were checked, but the source of the call wasn’t found.
— Police were called at 10:59 a.m. Wednesday to the fairgrounds entrance on Saltwell Road for a report of a vehicle parked in the grass with a man hanging out of the driver’s side door. He told officers he was OK, just resting.
— The owner of H & R Block called at 8:29 a.m. Wednesday to report she has a bunch of wires in front of her rear door that she alleged came from the building next door. She said when the wires were cut on that building, they ended up on her property. An officer saw multiple wires hanging in the tree next to her door and called the Landmark Foundation and spoke with someone from the chamber, who said she would contact a Landmark Foundation representative to take care of the issue.
— A woman called at 7:21 a.m. Wednesday and wanted a welfare check on her daughter, who she said was supposed to be at work and did not show up. An officer went to the address on Pine Street and spoke with the daughter who said she did not work that day.
— Daniel Scott, 42, Warren, was taken into custody for a charge of domestic violence after police were called at 4:33 a.m. Monday to West Spruce Street for an active assault. The male half, later identified as Scott, had allegedly left the scene intoxicated in a silver SUV or van heading towards North Market Street. He was detained after a traffic stop on Jerome Street. After speaking with the female victim, it was determined Scott would be charged with domestic violence. He was jailed and is scheduled for a pretrial Oct. 12 in Columbiana County Municipal Court.
— K-9 Otis and his handler responded to a traffic stop on state Route 45 near Lisbon Road at 3 a.m. Monday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol. K-9 Otis indicated to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle, which was searched with several items of suspected narcotics located.
— Officers located items of suspected narcotics when K-9 Otis was deployed during a traffic stop at 8:07 p.m. Sept. 30 and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
East Liverpool
— An officer spoke with a female on Sept. 4 at 1:10 a.m. who was calling from a Lincoln Avenue residence to report that her juvenile son was throwing food at his sibling. She was advised this was a parenting issue, not a law enforcement matter. She told the officer she wanted the incident documented.
— An officer responded to the 500 block of Wilbert Avenue on Sept. 4 at 12:42 p.m. to speak with a female who reported juveniles from the 200 block of Wilbert Avenue were harassing her and her children. The officer advised all the juveniles to stay away from each other.
— An officer responded to the 200 block of Thompson Avenue for a report of a loud stereo on Sept. 5 at 3:36 p.m. The music was turned down before the officer arrived.
— An officer responded to the 1200 block of Jennings Avenue on Sept. 5 at 12:44 p.m. for a report of an aggressive Pitbull running loose. Officers spoke with the caller who said the dog had killed two of her pet rabbits. The dog warden was called but was unable to capture the dog.
— An officer spoke to a male on Sept. 5 at 2:07 p.m. who said that he had a vehicle in a garage in the 1100 block of Vine Street, but he wasn’t being allowed to retrieve it. He provided the title and registration of the vehicle showing proof of ownership. The officer spoke with the residents and a date and time for him to get it was arranged.
— An officer conducted a traffic stop on West Eighth Street on Sept. 5 at 2:58 p.m. for a vehicle with expired plates. The driver, whose name, age and address were not provided, was issued a citation.
— An officer responded to the 200 block of West Seventh Street on Sept. 5 at2:24 p.m. for a report of property damage. The female resident said her son was at her house and an argument took place and he kicked the front door in as he was leaving. She said she wanted to file charges.
— An officer spoke to a female on Sept. 5 at 2:42 p.m. who reported that someone in California had used her food stamp card and spent a total of $500.
— A female contacted the police department on Sept. 5 at 9:27 a.m. to report that two dogs which were not her’s were at her residence in the 1100 block of Pope Street. She said one of the dogs bit her on the back of the hand.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 12:32 a.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the driveway. Officers found it to be a Spectrum Internet worker parked in the driveway who advised he did not want to stay parked in the roadway while he conducted maintenance. The driver of the vehicle departed the residence without issue.
— Officers responded to the area of East Sixth Street and East School Road at 10:26 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a disorderly person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Union Avenue at 10:01 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a shirtless intoxicated man walking down the road yelling obscenities. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person.
— Officers responded to Cry Baby Bridge at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday for a report of possible trespassing. Officers located two vehicles with five individuals, and Goshen and Washingtonville officers responded to the scene to assist. Officers found that while driving past the bridge one of the individuals spotted something in the parking area and contacted the other individuals to show them. Officers verbally warned all parties for criminal trespassing and waited until they left the area.
— Officers responded to the area of West State Street and Benton Road at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible intoxicated driver possibly driving to Ravenna. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate it.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday to assist the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force in executing a search warrant.
— Officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 5:27 p.m. Monday to speak with a woman about an incident that had occurred earlier in the day. Officers found that the caller’s neighbor’s child had found a toy gun in the dumpster, knocked on the caller’s door and pointed the weapon at her. Officers confirmed that the weapon was a toy and advised the juvenile not to point weapons at people. Officers seized the toy for proper destruction.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Bank Street at 4:18 p.m. Monday to assist Salem officers with a reported domestic altercation. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 2:45 p.m. Monday to assist the Streetsboro Police Department in locating a man that fled from them in a vehicle registered to a woman in the area. Officers found the vehicle in question had been sold the day prior, and all information was forwarded to the Streetsboro department.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 9:46 a.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the registration, finding it to be valid and left a message for the owner to contact the police.
— Danielle Ryan, 28, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her northbound vehicle on South Lincoln Avenue struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Rita Ankeny, 58, Salem, at 7:56 a.m. Monday.
Highway Patrol
— Daoud Abbadi, 26, Youngstown, was cited for failure to control, hit and skip, and a seatbelt violation after his westbound vehicle on Kings Road went off the left side of the roadway, rolled over and continued traveling off the west side of the roadway at 7:44 p.m. Oct. 2 in Butler Township. Daoud was transported to the hospital by his mother for suspected minor injuries.
— Charles Warner, 27, Salem, was cited for left of center after his vehicle crossed the center line on Hartley Road, causing a vehicle driven east by Steven Schrecengost, 27, Beloit, to strike a mailbox at 7:45 p.m. Oct. 1 in Butler Township. No injuries were reported.
— Alexia Dennison, 19, Salem, was cited for failure to control after her southwest bound vehicle on Georgetown Road went off the left side of the roadway striking a sign, before traveling off the right side of the roadway and striking a ditch at 9:25 a.m. Sept. 29 in Butler Township. No injuries were reported.
— Austin Barone, 25, Boardman, was cited for failure to control after his northwest bound vehicle on state Route 558 went off the left side of the roadway striking a ditch and a road sign at 2:44 p.m. in Salem Township. No injuries were reported.
— Kristen Barret, 17, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control after her southbound vehicle on state Route 7 went off the right side of the roadway striking a guardrail at 1:40 p.m. Sept. 28 in Fairfield Township. Barret’s passengers, Davon Moats, 21, East Liverpool, and Hailey Mckee, 16, Lisbon, were transported to St. Elizabeth Mercy Hospital Youngstown by Leetonia EMS for suspected minor injuries.
— Julie Geiss, 47, East Palestine, was cited for failure to yield after her westbound vehicle on Heck Road struck a vehicle driven south on state Route 7 by Janis Johnson, 66, Canfield, at 12:22 p.m. Sept. 28 in the city of Columbiana. No injuries were reported.
— Jamie Williams, 34, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 154 failed to negotiate a curve, traveling off the right side of the roadway and striking a guardrail at 6:52 a.m. Sept. 28 in Elkrun Township. No injuries were reported.
County Sheriff
— A woman on Stump Road, West Township, reported at 1:09 a.m. Friday that the female she lives with and pays rent to took all the locks off of the doors at the residence and moved out, leaving the home unsecured. The woman said she put new locks on the doors and barricades a door to make sure the residence is secure when she’s not there. The female had called at 4:14 p.m. Thursday to report her tenant had locked her out of the residence by changing the locks and barricading the doors.
— Deputies at 11:02 p.m. Thursday checked on a 911 hangup call on Main Street, Hanoverton, but the resident advised everything was fine.
— A woman on South Lane Drive, Hanover Township, reported at 6:37 p.m. Thursday that her husband broke the back door to get into the residence after she left the garage door open for him to get his medication and he left the stove on. She wanted a report on file.
— A Hanover Township resident on Campbell Road reported at 3:51 p.m. Thursday that a suspicious person was walking past his residence wearing a backpack. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t locate the person.
— A woman on Canal Street, West Township, reported at 2:52 p.m. Thursday that her estranged husband keeps calling and texting her and she wants a report on file.
— A woman on Sunrise Drive, Hanover Township, reported at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday that a juvenile was riding a dirt bike around Guilford Ruritan Club Park on state Route 172 causing damage. A deputy checked the area and was unable to find any damage or the juvenile riding on a dirt bike.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 10:44 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller requested a check of the residence so a home health aide could start, and while the caller spoke with the resident officers requested the city housing inspector respond to the scene. Officers also requested the fire department respond as the resident was going to be transported to Alliance Hospital for a medical evaluation. After the resident was transported, officers stood by until no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:43 a.m. Friday for an animal complaint. Officers located the animal in question, which did not appear to be in any type of distress.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:27 p.m. Thursday for a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance. When officers arrived, the man was combative on the ground being tended to by friends and appeared to be suffering from an apparent overdose. The man was violently pulling away between going in and out of consciousness, and officers assisted with securing the man to the gurney so he could be transported for treatment. EMT administered Narcan on the way to the Salem Regional Medical Center and once there, he awoke and calmed down for treatment.
— Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency room at 11:17 a.m. Thursday to assist with a disorderly male who was threatening staff. Officers spoke with the man, who was upset about being transferred to another facility, which he felt was unnecessary and was refusing to go with EMS. After a few moments of speaking the man, he left willingly with EMS.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of West Wilson Street at 9:14 p.m. Thursday for a report of a female juvenile having a difficult time and potentially wanting to harm themself. Officers spoke with the parents of the juvenile and offered to have her transported to speak with someone. The juvenile had calmed down and the parents wanted to transport the juvenile themselves, which they did.
— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 7:36 p.m. Thursday for a report of stolen bicycles. The caller advised that he and his wife left their two bicycles on the sidewalk near the intersection of East Pershing Street and South Lundy Avenue after his wife was involved in a car versus pedestrian traffic accident. The bicycles were taken from the area at some point between the date of the accident on Sept. 25 and that day. Officers advised a report would be on file.
— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 6:56 p.m. Thursday for a report of several suspicious juveniles attempting to gain entry to a closed business. Officers checked the area and surrounding business but were unable to locate any juveniles around.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue and West Euclid Street at 6:56 p.m. for a dog at large complaint. Officers were advised this same dog has gotten loose several times in the area and was known to be vicious. Officers located the dog in the reported area, but it fled from officers. Officers spoke with the owner who was also looking for the dog and advised her that she would be receiving a summons for dog at large due to the number of times the issue had occurred. Later in the shift the dog was located by a passerby and officers responded to take possession of the dog and transported it to the Columbiana County Humane Society.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 5:28 p.m. Thursday for a possible domestic. When officers arrived, they learned the incident was not a domestic dispute, and that the woman in question had thought her boyfriend was home and not letting her in but he was not. The woman then proceeded to break the window out of her side door, which cut her arm. First responders and EMT responded to the scene, but the woman refused treatment.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of South Lundy Avenue at 4:20 p.m. Thursday for a report of a person to be removed from the property. Officers located a man in the side yard of the property and advised him of the complaint, and to leave the property. The man left without issue.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Euclid Street at 3:17 p.m. Thursday for a report of debris in the roadway. The caller advised that he had hit a piece of metal, which got stuck in the sidewall of his tire near Quaker City Casting. Photos were taken of the metal sticking from the tire.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of South Lundy Avenue at 3:07 p.m. Thursday for report of a person to be removed. While the anonymous caller was on the phone with dispatch, they advised that the person had walked away. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 2:28 p.m. Thursday for a theft report. The caller advised that an unknown person stole a firearm belonging to them out of a residence, and they wanted a report on file. The theft had occurred at his mother’s residence but had not been reported until that time.
— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 10:38 a.m. Thursday regarding a possible scam. The woman advised she was sent loan information and ways to apply, and that she had applied and been approved and was sent two transactions for $199.99 into her account that she was to send back to the scammer via Cash App. The money was sent them made the woman account go negative. Officers advised her to contact her bank and close the account and issued a report number.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West State Street at 9:23 a.m. Thursday for a report of a man and woman to be removed. Officers spoke with the man and woman, advising them of the complaint and to leave. Both left without issue.
— Officers responded to West State Street at 7:47 a.m. Thursday for a report of a reckless operator. The vehicle had last been seen westbound on West State. Officers checked the area out to the city limits but did not locate the vehicle.
— An officer responded to the 200 block of North Madison Avenue at 11:56 p.m. Friday where a resident reported his son had told him a man had been looking into the home through a window three hours prior. The officer advised an extra watch would be on patrol and the resident was told to contact the police department if anyone saw the man again.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 11:35 p.m. Friday in reference to suspicious activity and found two juveniles running through the neighborhood. The juveniles were returned to their home.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 11:24 p.m. Friday where a caller reported his juvenile child was running from him while he was trying to put him in the car. Upon arrival, officers found the caller placing the juvenile into his vehicle.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Aetna Street at 7:56 p.m. Friday where the resident reported receiving text messages from an individual who had stayed at the home. The resident reported the person was threatening to show back up, stating they were fearful of the person returning, but only wanted the incident documented.
— An officer took a report on station at 6:16 p.m. Friday of a sex offense that occurred in the city. The matter was turned over to detectives.
