East Liverpool
— Officers were dispatched on Aug. 30 at 4:40 p.m. to the 700 block of Dreden Avenue for people screaming at each other.
— Officers were dispatched to the Vista Motel on Aug. 30 at 11:51 p.m. for a possible fight in the parking lot. Officers spoke to the parties involved who said they were just arguing and nothing physical had occurred. The parties were separated.
— Officers were dispatched on Aug. 30 at 7:43 p.m. to Trentvale Street for a parking complaint. The caller reported that a vehicle parked at the bottom of the hill was blocking the roadway. The driver advised he was just picking items up from his mother’s memorial site and would move the vehicle.
— Officers were dispatched on Aug. 30 at 5:07 a.m. to a residence in the 1200 block of Lisbon Street for a possible overdose. Officers arrived and assisted EMS. The person was transported to the hospital.
Salem
— Cody Dehoff, 34, Beaver Circle, Columbiana, was cited for disorderly conduct after officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 12:39 a.m. Saturday in reference to someone sleeping on the sidewalk. Dehoff was found to be intoxicated and uncooperative with officers, who were attempting to take him home, ultimately resisting arrest. He was transported to the Salem hospital by ambulance after claiming to be suffering a health crisis before ultimately being transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10:25 p.m. Friday in reference to an irate man hitting inanimate objects. Officers spoke with the person in question who said he was have relationship problems and was hitting his vehicle out of anger. He was advised to stop.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 8:15 p.m. Friday in reference to a dispute and found two brothers had been in an argument, but nothing physical occurred. One of the brothers was provided a ride to another residence.
— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 5:56 p.m. Friday where a woman reported her juvenile daughter had been inside the business when a man approached her and made a comment the daughter found frightening. The woman wanted to press charges and the matter was sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
— Dean McDaniel, 34, Beloit, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at Washington Avenue and East State Street at 4:43 p.m. Friday in which he failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of another vehicle. No injuries were reported.
— A West School Street resident reported at 4:01 p.m. Friday an ongoing issue in which her juvenile son was being bullied by another juvenile in and away from school. The officer notified the school resource officer of the issue and planned to speak with the other juvenile and parents to provide an opportunity for the bullying to stop.
— An officer responded to the area of Fairview Avenue and Merle Road at 3:20 p.m. Friday in reference to a possible fight between two juveniles, but was unable to find anyone matching the description given.
— Police responded with medical personnel to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 1:24 p.m. Friday in reference to an unresponsive woman and found it to be a natural death.
— An officer responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 1:04 p.m. Friday where a caller reported a bullet was recovered on the St. Paul School property near the sidewalk. The officer checked the rest of the property, finding nothing else. The caller requested an extra watch in the area at night.
— A caller at 8:45 a.m. Friday reported a reckless driver who passed a school bus while the bus had the stop sign out and lights on, dropping off children on East State Street near Ohio. The caller provided the registration of the vehicle and the matter is under investigation.
