Salem

— Police responded to the 500 block of East Sixth Street at 11:51 a.m. Sunday in reference to a toddler in just a diaper in the roadway. Officers found the toddler with his mother and learned the child was non-verbal. The child appeared to be fine. The matter was forwarded to children services.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:55 a.m. Sunday where witnesses reported seeing a maroon F-150 leaving the scene after they heard a crunching noise. Officers gathered the driver’s information and spoke with him at his home. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers observed a vehicle driving behind the Salem Plaza at 11:25 p.m. Saturday and due to a recent incident, followed the vehicle, which then stopped at the dumpster of Goodwill. The occupants were outside the vehicle, then quickly returned to the vehicle when they saw the officers. Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver said they were just dropping off items.

— An officer on patrol at 11:26 p.m. Saturday spoke with a man in the 500 block of East State Street who left the area after urinating behind a tree.

— Police responded with medical personnel to the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 7:56 p.m. Saturday where a caller reported her son may try to harm himself. Contact was made with the son, how denied wanting to harm himself and that everything started from a dispute. He had taken $20 from his father’s wallet, but his father did not want to press charges. All the resident were advised of the eviction process.

— A Franklin Avenue resident reported at 6:49 p.m. Saturday receiving multiple phone calls from someone after she told him to stop. She said she had block his number, but he was calling from various others.

— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Southeast Boulevard at 6:08 p.m. Saturday in reference to someone who needed to go to the hospital, but had small children inside the home. Offices stood by until the person found child care.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 5:36 p.m. Saturday in reference to someone searching through the dumpsters of a business. Officers were unable to find anyone in the area.

— Joanna Nagy, Poland, was cited for reasonable control following a two-vehicle crash at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of East State Street in which she was westbound and attempted to pull into the turn lane, striking another westbound vehicle driven by Donald Carlisle, Salem, who had also pulled into the turn lane. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West 16th Street at 2:30 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported she did not want her neighbor on her property. The neighbor was served with a trespass form.

— A man reported on station at 3:35 a.m. Saturday menacing from another man.

— Christopher Schmitt, 21, Lisbon, was cited for OVI and failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 900 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 2:30 a.m. Saturday in which he sideswiped a telephone pole and struck a second one head on. No injuries were reported.
