Highway Patrol

— Bobby Dawson,21, New Martinsville, West Virginia, was cited for failure to control after his southbound vehicle on state Route 11 went off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch and a log at 6:58 a.m. Sunday in Fairfield Township. No injuries were reported.

— Emily King, 25, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her southbound vehicle on state Route 45 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Nathaniel Calvin, 50, Leetonia, at 12:45 p.m. July 11 in the village of Lisbon. No injuries were reported.

— Matthew Dalrymple, 34, Wellsville, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 39, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Zack Jacobs, 36, Lisbon, at 3:21 p.m. July 9 in Yellow Creek Township. No injuries were reported.

— John Janczewski, 30, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after his southbound vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing a vehicle driven west on Columbiana Lisbon Road by Harley Braund, 30, Youngstown, to swerve and drive off the left side of the roadway striking a ditch at 3:09 p.m. in Fairfield Township. No injuries were reported.

— Timothy Lodge, 34, Salem, was cited for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 14 went off the left side of the roadway, striking a guardrail, before he was ejected from the vehicle and fled the scene at 1:45 a.m. July 9 in Green Township. No injuries were reported.

— John Brunner, 33, Uniontown, was cited for failure to control after his southbound vehicle on Knox School Road went off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail and overturning at 8:21 p.m. July 7 in West Township. Brunner was transported to Mercy Medical Center by Minerva EMS for suspected serious injuries.

— Donna Litman, 65, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after her northbound vehicle on County Road 424 went partially off the right side of the roadway and continued back across the roadway and off the left side of the roadway, striking an embankment and overturning at 5:52 p.m. July 7 in Madison Township. Litman was transported to East Liverpool Hospital by West Point EMS for suspected minor injuries.

— William Souders, 38, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after his southbound vehicle on state Route 11 went off the left side of the roadway, into and across the median, and crossed the opposing travel lanes and continued off the left side of the roadway striking a tree at 4:09 p.m. July 7 in Fairfield Township. Souders was transported to Saint Elizabeth’s Mercy Hospital Youngstown by Leetonia EMS for suspected serious injuries.

— Gary Michael, 37, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control after his northwest bound vehicle on state Route 172, went off the right side of the road, came back onto the roadway, then drove off the left side of the road, overturning and striking an embankment and trees at 3:18 p.m. July 7 in Center Township. Michael was transported to Saint Elizabeth’s Mercy Hospital Youngstown by EMT for Suspected minor injuries.

— Desirae Ripple, 19, Youngstown, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his westbound vehicle on state Route 14, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Anthony Scarnecchia, 38, Poland, at 2:46 p.m. July 7 in Unity Township. No injuries were reported.

— Stephanie Corvin, 27, Salem, was cited for failure to control after her southwest bound vehicle on state Route 9 went off the left side of the roadway at 3:25 a.m. July 7 in Butler Township. No injuries were reported.

Columbiana

— Officers responded at 12:35 p.m. on South Vine Street for a private property crash report on July 12.

— Officers responded to Huntington Bank on North Main Street for a private property crash at 12:33 p.m. on Wednesday.

— Officers responded to the Dutch Haus on state Route 14 for a private property crash at 4:33 p.m. on Wednesday.

— Lavonne Morena, 55, Salem, was issued a citation for driving without a valid license and speeding, following a traffic stop at 10:01 p.m. on state Route 14, Thursday.

— Jayvon Howell, 52, Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Park Avenue at 5:47 p.m. on Friday.

— Peyton Wolfe, 23, Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Quincy Street at 9:50 p.m. on Friday.

— Mackenzie McCartney, 21, Vienna, was arrested during a traffic stop at state Route 7 and state Route 14 at 12:07 a.m. on Saturday. McCartney was found to have an active warrant for her arrest. McCartney was later transported to the Columbiana County Jail without incident.

— Officers responded to Cobbler’s Corner for a disorderly subject at 12:06 p.m. on Saturday. The subject was given a criminal trespass warning and told not to return to the store.

— Officers responded to Firestone Park at 2:51 p.m. on Saturday for a verbal dispute between two subjects. One of the subjects had left and was unable to be located when officers arrived.

— Officers along with Columbiana Fire and EMS responded to a report of a fire alarm at 5:01 p.m. on Ashli Lane. Upon arrival, officers found the home to be filled with heavy smoke. Officers attempted to get an answer at the door but were unsuccessful. Officers forced entry into the home and found a burning pot on the stove top. The pot was removed from the stove and the fire quickly put itself out. Officers located a person and a dog inside the home. The patient was found unresponsive but was woken up by officers. EMS evaluated the patient who was found to be okay and not in need of medical attention. The Columbiana Fire Department ventilated the home of smoke. Once the home was ventilated all emergency personnel cleared the scene.

Liverpool Township

— An officer conducted at traffic stop on July 1 at 10:27 p.m. on state Route 7 on a vehicle that was speeding up and slowing down and repeatedly crossing over the white fog line. The driver, identified as Jeffrey Boyd, age and address not provided, was found to be under a non-compliance suspension. Boyd was issued a citation for failure to drive in marked lanes and driving under suspension. First Class Towing towed the car.

— An officer on patrol on state Route 11 July 1 at 11:11 p.m. came upon a vehicle parked along the shoulder of the highway close to the white fog line in a construction zone which posed a hazard with the highway being down to down to one lane. The officer observed the two tires on the driver’s side were flat and shredded. The vehicle was towed by First Class Towing.

— An officer on July 6 at 7:44 p.m. conducted a traffic stop on Boring Lane for a vehicle clocked at 36 mph in a 25-mph zone. The driver, identified as Tina Barrick, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for speed and released with a court date.

— An officer conducted a traffic stop on Boring Lane on July 6 at 8:23 p.m. for a vehicle clocked at 38 mph in a 25-mph zone. A speed citation and court date was issued to driver, Angel Feliciana, age and address not provided.

— An officer conducted traffic stop on state Route 7 July 7 at 12:13 a.m. for a vehicle traveling 70 mph in a 55-mph zone. Zackery Young was issued a mandatory court date and citations for speed and driving without a license. The vehicle was towed for impound by First Class Towing and Young along with his passenger were transported to the hospital where the passenger could get treatment for being sick.

— An officer was dispatched July 7 at 1:30 p.m. to the 1100 block of Forsyth Place for a theft report. The victim said she was at the residence for a yard sale and her wallet in her car was unlocked. She also said that there was a white truck with an unknown male driver in the driveway next door. She nor anybody else could provide witness to the theft.

Perry Township

— Officers on patrol in the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:55 p.m. Sunday noticed several cars in the Salem Golf Club Parking lot. Officers spoke with the staff and found no issues.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Prospect Street at 9:04 p.m. Sunday for a report of a woman attempting to harm herself. Officers spoke with the woman and involved parties and were advised that no statements or actions were made.

— Officers spoke to a man at 5:34 p.m. Sunday who advised the mother of his child was not complying with the shared parenting agreement that they have in place. Officers advised him that the matter was a civil complaint and he would have to consult his attorney to resolve the matter.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East pigeon Road at 3:44 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man mowing and blowing grass on the road. Officers arrived and informed the man that he could not blow grass on the road. The man advised he would stop.

— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of Georgetown Road at 4:38 a.m. Sunday located a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. Officers found the vehicle to be unoccupied and secure.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Benton Road at 4:57 p.m. Saturday for a report of a neighbor’s dog that keeps wandering onto the property. The caller advised the dog comes over at all hours of the day and barks and growls at him. Officers responded to the 800 block of North Ohio Boulevard and attempted to make contact with the owner of the dog. Officers were unable to make contact with the owner.

— Officers responded to Salem Acres at 12:14 p.m. Saturday for a report of burglary. The caller advised that they left the apartment for a few hours and when they returned to their residence their door was open and things were moving around. A full bottle of pills, a bag of clothes and an iPhone were missing from the residence. Officers did not observe any signs of forced entry anywhere on the property and a report was made.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Elberon Avenue at 6:44 p.m. Friday for a report of a man going door to door introducing himself as a realtor. Officers arrived and spoke to the man, who informed officers he is a realtor but was just handing out information and not attempting to sell anything. Officers informed him that soliciting is not allowed and the man assured them he wouldn’t be.

— Officers responded to state Route 45 at 4:23 p.m. Friday for a report of a deer that had been struck and was partially in the roadway. Officers arrived and removed the deer from the roadway.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 7:04 a.m. Friday for a 911 hang-up call. Officers made contact with the caller who advised that she believed her son was suffering a medical emergency. Officers found no emergency.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Somerset Drive at 11:54 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. The brother called advising he had not been able to contact him. Officers spoke with the man who advised he would contact his brother.

— Officers stopped a man walking along the wrong side of the roadway in the 200 block of Georgetown Road at 6:51 p.m. Thursday. The man advised he was heading to the store and officers advised him to walk on the correct side of the road.

— Officers responded to the 17000 block of state Route 14 in Smith Township at 1:53 p.m. Thursday to assist Smith Township officers after they located a trailer that was stolen from Perry township. Officers were able to recover the stolen trailer and assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East 11th Street at 11:45 a.m. Thursday for a report of threats. The caller advised that her daughter’s husband was threatening her and she was concerned. Officers spoke with the daughter who advised the husband was not present at the residence but was threatening to come over to the residence. The husband currently had a no contact order with the daughter as part of his bond conditions.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Chestnut Grove at 4:04 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that at around 3:30 p.m. a vehicle pulled into his driveway and that when he attempted to speak to the driver of the car, the vehicle sped out of the driveway and left the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:49 p.m. July 11 for a report of a person lying in her yard. Officers found a man lying under a tree and found no warrants in the pickup area for him. Officers gave him a ride into town.

— Officers responded to Circle K at 10:29 p.m. July 11 for a wellness check. The caller advised that a man improperly parked his vehicle, sat there and began talking to himself and falling back into his seat. Officers spoke with the man who advised he had been driving all day and was tired and wanted to take a nap. Officers directed the man to a motel to stay for the night.

— Officers responded to Goshen Road at 8:50 p.m. July 11 for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that there was a juvenile that jumped out of a van and was trying to run away. While en route it was determined through dispatch the juvenile was complying and nothing further was needed.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West Pershing Street at 12:56 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller said that the male resident had made threats of harm toward himself and that he attempted the night before. The caller showed officers the messages and the fire department and EMT responded and transported the man to the hospital on a pink slip.

— Officers responded with the fire department and EMT to a residence in the 700 block of Arch Street at 11:07 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man allegedly under the influence of meth having an outburst and making threats of self-harm. Officers spoke with the man in question, whose name was not listed, and while on scene located loose pills and several capped syringes on the floor on the back porch. The man was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT where he was pink slipped. Potential charges are pending.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10:22 p.m. Sunday for a report of loud music. Officers could hear the music when they arrived and advised the resident of the complaint and to keep the music down.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Second at 10:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers spoke with a woman who advised she was resting. The woman was sent on her way.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Union Avenue at 5:47 p.m. Sunday for a report of a verbal dispute. The woman wanted a man to leave after letting him stay for some time. Both parties were explained the eviction process due to the male half establishing residency.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 5:26 p.m. Sunday for a reported dispute. Officers could not locate the person involved.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 3:17 p.m. Sunday for a report of an irate patient. Officers spoke with the person in question and he calmed down.

— Officers checked on a juvenile problem in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:20 p.m. Sunday. After locating the juvenile, officers made the parent aware of the complaint and the matter will be turned over to the juvenile officer.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Hawley Avenue at 1:13 p.m. Sunday and recovered drug paraphernalia that was discarded into a yard.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Prospect Street at 4:40 a.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that someone was knocking on the door of the residence. When officers arrived, they observed and spoke with a man who advised he was there to see the homeowner. Officers spoke with the homeowner, and she advised that she did not want to man to be there. Officers advised the man to be on his way.

— Officers responded back to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Saturday for a report of a juvenile hitchhiking. Officers spoke with the juvenile who advised he needed help with his groceries. Officers transported the juvenile to his residence and made the parents aware of the incident.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:22 p.m. Saturday for a report of a juvenile possibly hitchhiking. Officers checked the area and several surrounding streets but did not locate the juvenile in question.

— Officers checked the area of West Wilson Street and South Howard Avenue at 4:56 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person down. Nobody was located and the caller confirmed the person was no longer there.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Continental Drive at 4:17 p.m. Saturday for a wellness check on a city resident. Officers spoke with the man who advised he was fine.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Whinnery Road at 3:10 p.m. Saturday and found a dispute over property was occurring. Both parties involved were advised the matter was civil and to consult with their lawyers in regard to the matter.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Kennedy Drive for a reported 911 hang-up call at 2:35 p.m. Saturday. Officers were able to locate the source of the call, and it was determined to be accidental.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 12:21 p.m. Saturday for a report of a criminal trespass by a person known to have a trespass notice for the property, who had already left and was walking west on East Third Street. Officers located the man, Ryan Thompson, 41, Salem, who admitted to being on the property. Officers confirmed the trespass notice and took Thompson into custody for criminal trespass, transporting him directly to the Columbiana County Jail

— Officers responded to the 300 block of South Broadway Avenue at 4:47 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious person walking around a building with a flashlight. Officers were unable to locate the source of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and Columbiana Avenue at 3:09 a.m. Saturday to assist highway patrol with a crash. Officers stood by while they brought a person to the police department for testing.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 2:43 a.m. Saturday for a report of a man down on the sidewalk. Officers located a man sitting on the sidewalk who advised an unknown group assaulted him when he was coming out of a local bar. The man was transported to Saint Elizbeth’s Hospital by EMT due to his injuries.

— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 2 a.m. Saturday for a juvenile complaint. The caller advised that her son left home and she was unable to locate him. The caller advised officers of a couple possible friends whose residences he may be staying at. Officers located the juvenile in a residence on North Madison Avenue and returned him home.

— Officers on patrol located a man sitting in a pavilion at Centennial Park at 12:48 a.m. Saturday, making contact with the man and advising him of park hours. The man said he would leave and return home.

— Officers were flagged down in the intersection of West State Street at 8:11 p.m. Friday for a reported juvenile issue. Officers spoke with the juvenile and parents.

— While on a call in the 1500 block of Ridgewood Avenue at 7:26 p.m. Friday, officers observed a man known to have an active warrant out of Columbiana County. Officers confirmed the warrant and took the man, Damien Phillips, 20, into custody, and located drug paraphernalia on his person.

— Officers responded to the area of Southeast Boulevard and Ridgewood Avenue at 7:22 p.m. Friday for a report of a juvenile carrying a firearm. Officers checked the area but did not see anyone in the area with a firearm.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 3:52 p.m. Friday to assist another agency with a wellness check. Officers were unable to make contact with the resident.
