-- Officers responded to the area of South Union Avenue at 3:51 p.m. Sunday for a report of a dog at large. The caller had possession of the dog which was turned over to the Columbiana County Humane Society.
-- Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street at 3:35 p.m. Sunday for a report of a vehicle parked along the curb which allegedly had not been moved in two weeks. Officers placed a 48-hour warning tag under the wiper and will follow up on the complaint in the near future.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of West Wilson Street at 2:41 p.m. Sunday for a juvenile problem. The caller advised that her autistic son was having a medical issue. The juvenile was transported to Akron Children's Hospital Boardman by EMT.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East Second Street at 1:07 p.m. Sunday for a report of a domestic in progress. Officers observed a woman yelling at a male and spoke with her. The woman said she was yelling at her son over a private matter and was just parenting her son.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of Highland Avenue with the fire department and EMT at 12:51 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man who had fallen and been injured. The man was transported by EMT.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 400 block of East State Street at 12:46 p.m. Sunday for a report of criminal damage. Sometime after 1:15 a.m. Sunday someone damaged the glass in the window of a door to a business. Officers photographed the damage and advised an extra patrol would be conducted during nighttime hours.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 12:29 p.m. Sunday for a report of a shop lifter. The caller advised that an employee switched price tags on items and then scanned the items at a lower price. The employee was fired and advised they would receive a court summons for theft. The employee admitted to switching the tags.
-- Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 12:19 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The caller advised they had tried to go into Dollar General, but the doors were locked. Officers checked all doors which were locked. The lights were on, but nobody seemed to be working.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of South Lundy Avenue at 11:59 a.m. Sunday for a report of a young child walking unattended. Officers located the child and brought it back to the police department. The child's uncle called shortly thereafter, advising the child was missing from a residence in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue. Officers had contacted a local pastor who responded to the police department with a family member of the child, and officers accompanied them to the residence on South Lundy and spoke with the family about making sure the doors are secure and to maintain a watchful eye on the children.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 9:40 a.m. Sunday to speak with a person who was upset about living arrangements with family members. The individual was complaining about the residence not being clean. Officers were invited inside the residence and observed it to be well kept and clean. The kitchen was stocked with food and officers observed no problems. The individual was also complaining about a lack of handicap access; however, he acknowledged his sister had taken him in from out of state and he had been made aware of the lack of handicap access prior to moving in. The individual is currently trying to obtain an apartment with handicap access but is on a waiting list. Officers advised the individual they would attempt to identify some resources that might be able to assist and would follow up with them soon.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Fair Avenue at 8:41 a.m. Sunday for a reported theft. The caller advised that items had come up missing from his residence the day prior, and that two people known to him had been at the residence the night prior. The caller checked all around the residence and could not locate the items.
-- Diego Cadillo, 22, Salem, was cited for no operator's license at 3:05 a.m. Sunday after his vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation in the 400 block of Benton Road. During the stop officers learned Cadillo did not possess a valid driver's license. Sinsley's Towing responded to remove the vehicle from the roadway.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Continental Drive at 12:37 a.m. Sunday for a report of missing property thought to be stolen. The caller was unable to provide any information on how the property was stolen. Officers advised them an extra patrol would be placed in the area.
-- Officers responded to the area of Vine Avenue and East State Street at 11:43 p.m. Saturday for a report of a barking dog complaint. Officers checked the area and surrounding streets but did not hear any dog barking.
-- Officers took a report of an alleged assault at the police department at 11:17 p.m. Saturday. Officers obtained the necessary information from one of the parties involved, and the matter is currently under investigation.
-- Officers took a report of theft in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised that her daughter had dropped her iWatch in the parking lot earlier that evening and that it had its location on and was signaling strong from the complex, but now the watch was signaling somewhere in New Waterford. The caller said the watch is in her name which is why she is reporting it and will call back with serial numbers.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of Adams Avenue at 9:27 p.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller said a man had been seen running up the road with no shoes. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
-- Officers spoke with a woman in the 700 block of West State Street at 8:25 p.m. Saturday who advised that a person in the 700 block of East State Street sits and stares at their residence. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them that if they are staring to cease their actions.
