- Officers responded to the area of Sharp Avenue and Prospect Street at 5:31 p.m. Saturday in reference to two juveniles tampering with a manhole cover. The juveniles were found in a nearby alley and said they were retrieving a wooden staff one of them had dropped through a hole in the manhole cover. They were advised not to tamper with the manholes.
- Officers and medical personnel responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 4:07 p.m. Saturday in reference to a woman walking south who passed out and fell near a bush. Officers found the woman walking northbound in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue and she said everything was fine, refusing medical treatment.
- Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 1:12 p.m. Saturday in reference to a verbal dispute and found a couple arguing about a personal matter. One of the individuals decided to take a walk to calm down.
- Adam Martig, no age listed, Sebring, was cited for a red light violation following at two-vehicle crash at South Union Avenue and East State Street at 8:52 a.m. Saturday in which he was eastbound and entered the intersection after the light had turned red, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Shirley Shoaff, Salem. No injuries were reported.
- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 2:19 a.m. Saturday in reference to a juvenile who wanted to harm himself. Medical personnel responded and the juvenile was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
- Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 1:22 a.m. Saturday in reference to a male individual who had stolen several items and left on foot. The individual was found to be an intoxicated juvenile and in possession of the stolen items. The juvenile was charged with theft, underage consumption and curfew violation.
- Officers responded to the 1800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:19 p.m. Friday in reference to an intoxicated person causing problems at a business. The person was ultimately transported home by a friend.
- An officer responded to a 2300 block East State Street business at 6 p.m. Friday in reference to an irate customer in the drive thru who claimed her food was cold, then parked her vehicle, walked up to the window and threw the food and drink at an employee. The customer left before the officer arrived, but a license plate number was provided.
- Shain Richard Hostetter, 41, Lisbon was cited for improper lane change following a two-vehicle crash in the 2700 block of East State Street at 5:05 p.m. Friday in which he was westbound in the left lane approaching Cunningham Road and attempted to travel into the right lane, striking another westbound vehicle driven by Rick Dale Armstrong, 64, Salem. No injuries were reported.
- A former city resident reported at 4:08 a.m. Friday he left his TV at his former residence when he moved out, but it was gone when he returned to get it.
- Police responded to the 100 block of East Third Street at 11:18 a.m. Friday where a resident reported a man was stealing his belongings and fled north on foot, dropping his cell phone. Officers were unable to find the man in question, but confiscated the phone.
- An officer was flagged down in the 800 block of East Fourth Street at 9:17 a.m. Friday in reference to three people looking in the windows of a vacant home. The officer found the people going in and out of the home and spoke with one of them, who said they were moving in to the home. The homeowner was contacted and arrived on scene, telling the people to leave the home.
- Brandon Lee Phillips, 21, last of South Egypt Road, Salem, was charged with criminal trespass and obstruction of official business after officers responded to the 800 block of East Fourth Street at 5:40 a.m. Friday where he was found hiding in the closet of a vacant home with the dog of an acquaintance.
- Officers responded to the intersection of East Fourth Street and Vine Avenue at 12:26 a.m. Friday in reference to someone on a bicycle playing music loudly. Officers found the man in question who admitted to having the music playing loudly before officers arrived. He was advised to keep the volume down.
- Officers responded to the 100 block of East Third Street at 10:19 p.m. Thursday in reference to a light on in a downstairs apartment that is supposed to be vacant. All entryways were checked and found secure.
