-- Officers responded on Sept. 24 to a call of a father trying to forcibly take his 7-year-old daughter from a parking lot. According to police reports, he would not let go of the girl until she yelled for help. The mother told officers the father was at her residence trying to visit the child when he was asked to leave. She also said the father got angry and tried to take his daughter.
-- On Sept. 24, officers spoke to a male who reported someone stole a junk vehicle from his Dresden Avenue property. The male believes this happened within the last two days.
-- On Sept. 25 at 10:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to state Route 39 eastbound for a disabled vehicle that was blocking the roadway. Officers checked all of state Route 39 in both directions and had negative contact with any disabled vehicle.
-- On Sept. 25, a male called police and stated he was walking down Lisbon Street and was being chased by someone wielding a baseball bat. According to the male, he was in an alley. Officers responded and checked the entire length of Lisbon Street within the city limits with negative contact.
-- On Sept. 25, a tenant at the Odd Fellows building complained of someone removing discarded items from a roll off dumpster. Officers spoke to a female who stated she was rummaging through it and explained to her she should get permission. She put the items back and left the area.
-- Officers received a call of a disabled vehicle at the bottom of Jackson Street on Sept. 25. Officers responded and stood by until First Class Towing arrived and assisted the motorist.
-- Officers were requested on Sept. 26 at Fawcett Apartments in reference to a disturbance involving a silver Chevrolet Impala.
-- Officers responded on Sept. 26 to a Michigan Avenue residence. Officers made contact with a male and two females. The male advised that one of the females is his ex-girlfriend who is still currently living at his residence and he brought the other female who is his new girlfriend to the house. It was disclosed that a physical altercation took place between the two females and that neither party would leave for the evening. All parties agreed to leave each other alone for the night. Officers left statement forms for all parties at the house if either wanted to pursue charges. Officers responded back to the residence again due to the ex-girlfriend having a few friends over and the male wanting them removed. Officers advised the male they could not remove them from the house and he stated that everything was fine now between everyone.
-- On Sept. 27, officers were called to the area of 258 Moore St. for a report of juveniles knocking on doors and leaving the scene. Officers checked the area with negative results.
-- On Sept. 27, a female called police and said she was patronizing the Mainland gas station at 1036 Penn Ave. She believed that was the last place she had her purse before discovering it missing. According to the female, she recalled two suspicious male subjects milling around the parking lot during her visit, asking to pump customers gasoline. She stated she had already reached out to the gas station to review security cameras.
-- On Sept. 27, officers on routine patrol observed a female sitting in a vehicle in the New Dimension parking lot on Anderson Boulevard. The officer made contact with the female who advised that she wished to speak to a Liverpool Township officer about an ongoing issue with her son. The female advised that she lives on LaCroft Avenue which is in the township. Officers advised dispatch of the situation and had Liverpool Township respond to the scene.
-- On Sept. 27, officers responded to a call of a suspicious person in the area of AAA Central Motor Club located at 516 Broadway Ave. The caller reported a suspicious male on the premises that had been walking up to cars and exchanging suspected illegal items. The caller further stated this individual is drug related and has a history of drug abuse. The officer responded and had a consensual encounter with a man who admitted to having a needle in his front pocket. Officers confiscated the syringe and further inquiry into his bag yielded two more syringes. The contraband was taken back to the police station for sharps disposal. The male was charged with M-1 possessing drug abuse instruments.
-- On officer on Sept. 27 was sitting stationary on West Eighth Street and observed a black jeep heading eastbound with one headlight out. The officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver stated there was a short in the headlight and he has been trying to fix it without success. The driver was issued a warning.
-- On Sept. 27 while patrolling the area of Fifth Street, officers observed a silver Mitsubishi heading west with one headlight out. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver stated he did not realize it had gone out. A warning was issued.
-- On Sept. 27, officers received a call of someone possibly entering a condemned home in the 2200 block of Harvey Avenue. Officers responded and checked the residence in question.
-- Officers responded on Sept. 27 to a report of a fight at Dairy Queen. Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspects had left the scene.
-- An officer while patrolling on Fourth Street on Sept. 27 observed a Hyundai heading west without the tail lights illuminated. Officers initiated a traffic stop. The driver stated he thought his lights were on but only his running lights were illuminated. A warning was issued.
-- On Sept. 28, officers were called out to some type of domestic dispute involving child custody located on Smithfield Street. Upon arrival, parties were separated and officers learned the couple were arguing over cups. The male half did want to leave the situation with his juvenile; however, the female half wanted to keep the juvenile. As a result, the juvenile was left with the custodial parent and parties went their separate ways.
-- On Sept. 28, officers responded to a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The caller stated that her granddaughter had taken her car without permission and does not have a valid driver's license. She also stated that her granddaughter hangs out on Ravine Street. Officers patrolled the area around Ravine Street, with negative contact with the vehicle.
-- An Officer took a report over the phone on Sept. 28 from a male stating that he was a victim of identity theft. He stated that he was contacted by the company IC Systems who advised him that he owes $1,082.76. The male asked how he owes that money. They advised him that he had an overdue bill from AT&T. The male looked into the situation more and found that the purchase from AT&T was in 2020 and in Dayton, Ohio. He stated to this officer that he never lived in Dayton and he is positive that the $1082.76 owed is not from his doing.
-- On Sept. 28, a female came to the police department to report unknown person(s) opened or attempted to open bank accounts without her consent or knowledge. She explained this commenced August 2022 where she reported to the three credit reporting agencies fraudulent activity, resulting in a credit freeze; however, it did not stop anyone from opening bank accounts. Recently, she received a letter stating because of too many credit inquiries her request to open an account was denied. The female was advised to contact the attorney general' s office and fill out paperwork for an identity theft passport.
-- On Sept.28, officers were called to West Drury Lane for a report of some type of domestic dispute. Upon arrival, the parties were separated and officers determined no physical contact occurred as a result of the dispute. As a result, it was determined both people involved are planning to move out of the residence.
