-- Deputies were called at 11:47 p.m. Saturday to the 24000 block of West Egypt Road in West Township for a person having a mental health crisis. Deputies and EMT ambulance arrived and the person was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
-- An assault was reported at an address in the 4700 block of McCracken Road in Salem Township at 10:53 p.m. Saturday, but the complainant did not want to file any charges. No injuries were reported.
-- A protection order delivered to a Wellsville resident at 6:51 a.m. Friday included an order for him to relinquish all firearms in his possession, but he advised the deputy he did not own any kind of firearms.
-- A deputy responded at 10:07 p.m. Sept. 1 to a property on Steubenville Pike Road in Washington Township to collect drug paraphernalia a resident said was located in her adult son's room. He hasn't lived there for several months.
-- A deputy was called at 6:50 p.m. Sept. 1 to a shooting complaint in the 33000 block of Teegarden Road in Hanover Township, but nothing was found.
Salem
-- Officers responded to the area of West State Street on the bridge at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers were advised of a man standing on the bridge not moving. Officers spoke to the man who advised he was just walking home and that he was okay.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue at 9:12 p.m. Monday for a custody issue. The caller advised her son stayed with the father over the weekend in agreement, and the father did not return the juvenile and stated he would the following day. The caller wanted documentation in regards to the incident.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 7:46 p.m. Monday for a wellness check, finding nothing wrong.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Third Street at 7:11 p.m. Monday for an open door. The caller advised the house next to hers was vacant and she believed someone had been going in and out of it, and earlier in the day she'd seen a woman walking around the property. Officers checked the residence and found the exterior doors to be unlocked. Officers checked the interior of the house finding nobody. Officers re-secured the doors.
-- Officers responded to Waterworth Memorial Park at 6:47 p.m. Monday for a report of someone in the duck pond. Nobody was in the area and nobody was seen in the water when the officers arrived.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 5:55 p.m. for a possible theft. The caller advised that she believed her registration sticker had been taken while she was at work. Officers checked the store's camera system finding that if the sticker had been taken it did not happen while she was at work.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 5:25 p.m. Monday for a report of a disorderly woman. Officers located the woman and spoke with her, advising her of the complaint.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Bank Street at 5:13 p.m. Monday for a juvenile problem. The caller advised a juvenile was causing problems when he comes to her residence. Officers advised the caller to ask them to leave and call the police if there were any future issues.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Home Circle at 3:26 p.m. Monday for an animal complaint. The caller advised they were concerned about the neighbor's dog. Officers checked the animal, finding no signs of neglect. Officers will have the humane officer follow up with the pet's owner.
-- Officers responded to Walmart at 1:50 p.m. Monday for a reported hit and skip. The caller's vehicle was struck in the left rear. Officers will review security footage and attempt to identify the other vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 1:39 p.m. Monday to check for a person with an active warrant. The area was checked but officers were unable to locate them.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:32 a.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised two people he knew were continually leaving items in his garage. Officers advised him of options for dealing with the situation.
-- Officers spoke to a man by phone at 10:45 a.m. Monday who advised he'd bought a moped from someone out of town a few weeks ago, and that he found it on Facebook and had paid in cash, with no registrations or other identification papers for the vehicle. This morning he found the bike gone and thought it was stolen. Officers took the description of the bike. Later in the day the man called back and advised that someone had taken it for a ride and returned it, so it was not stolen as initially thought.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 7:39 a.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised a man did not seem to be acting right and left in a vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- An Ohio ID card and debit card were turned into the police department at 7:09 a.m. Monday found on the ground outside. The owner was identified but officers were unable to contact them. The items were placed in lost and found for safekeeping.
-- Officers on patrol in the 400 block of Prospect Street at 1:51 a.m. Monday stopped to speak to a woman behind a business, learning that the woman's family owned the business and they had just had a gathering there.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Morgan Court at 11:15 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The Canton Police Department received a call that someone at the address contacted a suicide hotline. Officers made contact with the residents but the person did not reside there. Dispatch was able to contact them by phone and he advised he'd gotten into an argument with his girlfriend and just wanted to speak with someone. He later advised he was okay and wasn't going to harm himself.
-- While on patrol at 10:48 p.m. Sunday officers observed three people in Centennial Park after closing hours. Officers advised the people of park hours and they left without incident.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 10:22 p.m. Sunday for a report of a disorderly man yelling. Officers made contact with the man and gave him a verbal warning for disorderly conduct.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Stewart Avenue at 7:16 p.m. Sunday to take a report of a missing juvenile. The woman last saw her daughter at her residence at 11 p.m. Saturday before the woman left to work a midnight shift, and her daughter was not there when she returned home. Many attempts were made by family to make contact or locate the girl but they were unsuccessful. The necessary paperwork was filled out and the juvenile was entered into LEADs as missing.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of North Howard Avenue at 7:03 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man that had fallen in the street and sustained significant injuries. The caller was on scene to assist him getting up and to the sidewalk. The fire department and EMT arrived on scene and the man was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
