-- Deputies responded to a Bell Road, Elkrun Township address at 8:40 p.m. Saturday to investigate a person who had reportedly been injured. The person had been accidentally struck by a pellet gun and refused treatment from EMS.
-- A Lower Elkton Road, Fairfield Township, man reported at 9:38 a.m. Sunday his ATV with two chain saws strapped onto it was removed from his barn and parked outside as if someone was attempting to steal them.
-- A Buffalo Road, West Township, woman reported at 9:29 a.m. Sunday someone drove through her yard.
-- A Valley Road, Butler Township, woman reported at 11:10 a.m. Sunday a patient there believed her cell phone had been stolen.
-- A Mahoning Avenue, Knox Township, woman reported at 2:21 p.m. Sunday someone damaged her mailbox sometime after midnight. Several other mailboxes reportedly were also damaged along the same road.
-- Prowlers were reported at a state Route 172, West Township, residence at 1:04 a.m. Thursday. Deputies checked the property and the area throughout the night, but did not locate anyone.
-- Deputies checked the property and surrounding area of Dutchtown School Road, Elkrun Township, at 12:28 a.m. Friday for a possible prowler, but no one was found.
-- An intoxicated man was reported at the Save-A-Lot in Rogers at 12:58 a.m. Friday. Deputies checked the area, but he was not located.
-- Deputies were asked by Warrensville Heights police to go to a Foundry Hill Road, Salineville, address Thursday to look for the owner of a 2013 KIA involved in a hit skip in Warrensville Heights. The person was not at the home and the landlord said the person had not lived there for at least two years.
-- Deputies were asked to help remove a person at a Shelby Road, Center Township, home at 8:11 p.m. Dec. 8. The man was found outside his home, highly intoxicated. He was able to find somewhere else to stay for the evening and was given a ride there.
-- A suspicious person was reported on Madison Drive at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday. The area was checked and no one was located.
-- A Rose Drive woman denied she had any intentions of harming herself when deputies were called to check on her at her home at 7:46 p.m. Dec. 5.
East Palestine
-- A West North Avenue resident reported at 1:05 p.m. Sunday someone hacked into their credit card and stole several thousand dollars.
-- An East North Avenue resident spoke to police about a custody dispute at 10 p.m. Sunday.
-- A woman at an East Taggart Street home reported at 1:30 p.m. Saturday reported a line from a utility pole was hanging down into her shrubbery. Police determined it was a phone line and she was told to notify the telephone company.
-- Residents of a Park Avenue home reported at 8:09 p.m. Friday they wanted someone removed from the property. The man agreed to go somewhere else for the night.
-- Police responded to an East Grant Street home at 7:53 p.m. Friday where it was reported the residents may be burning garbage. They were not.
-- An East Martin Street resident reported at 6:26 p.m. Friday his vehicle and other items were missing from his home.
-- Someone asked police to stop at an Alice Street address at 4:06 p.m. Friday after someone was bitten by a dog.
-- Someone stopped police in the area of Highland Avenue where a syringe was found laying in a vacant lot at 11:24 a.m. Friday. It was collected and police disposed of it.
-- A dispute between neighbors was reported at an East North Avenue property at 3:42 p.m. Thursday.
-- An East Main Street man spoke to police at 2:11 p.m. Thursday regarding his fiances using his vehicle. Police attempted to call her at his request and left a voice message, but she did not return the call.
-- A North Sumner Street man reported a scam at 12:14 p.m. Thursday.
-- An administrator of the East Palestine Schools asked the school resource officer to go with him at 10:34 a.m. Thursday to a student's home on North Market Street to speak with the family about the student's online participation.
-- Police responded to the recycling bins on Walnut Street at 1:58 p.m. Dec. 8 after it was reported someone was placing suspicious materials in the bids. The people were told to read the signs on the front of the bins and remove anything that did not fit into those categories.
-- A South Washington Street woman reported at 12:06 p.m. Dec. 8 someone burglarized the house between 10 a.m. and noon. Her medication and some Christmas presents were stolen. The matter is under investigation.
-- At 10:52 a.m. Dec. 8, a woman dropped off the keys to a West Martin Street home for the son of her finance, who recently died. The property had been the topic of several arguments between them and they decided it was best she let him pick up the keys at the police department so there would be no contact between them.
-- An administrator from the East Palestine Schools asked the school resource officer to go to a North Walnut Street home at 9:57 a.m. Dec. 8 regarding a student who has not been to school since Nov. 3.
-- Salem police asked East Palestine police to check at a home for a woman and give her a message for them at 8:44 a.m. Dec. 7. It was determined the woman no longer lives at the home.
-- Cpl. Jacob Koehler assisted a woman with a flat tire on Bacon Avenue at 1:56 p.m. Dec. 6.
-- A child reportedly ran away from a Garfield Avenue home at 11:40 p.m., Dec. 5. Police were able to find the child and return it home.
-- A Park Avenue woman reported at 9:42 p.m. Dec. 5 someone scammed her after she replied to a fake email from Amazon. After calling the phone number in the email, someone scammed more than $1,000 from her. Police told her to take steps to secure her accounts and how to check to determine the validity of an email.
-- Robert H. Spaulding, 30, was taken into custody at 2:49 p.m. Dec. 4 after he was found to have a felony warrant and was found inside a vehicle on Young Street.
-- Police checked on a woman reportedly acting strangely at an East Grant Street home at 1:28 p.m. Dec. 4. She told police there were no problems.
Leetonia
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Honey Lane Friday where a resident reported hearing her dog barking and growling, then seeing a bright light shining in her window when she looked outside. Officers checked the area but could not find anyone.
-- A 400 block Somer Street resident reported Saturday she believes someone turned around in a driveway overnight and struck the front driver side door of her vehicle.
-- A Main Street resident reported Saturday receiving a call from a television service provider stating she was eligible for channel upgrades and a new TV if she purchased gift cards from an electronics store. The resident said she purchased the cards and then learned that someone at the service provider company had used them. She was advised to file a complaint with the company and to monitor her bank account
-- An officer responded to a 200 block Ridge Street home at 10:11 p.m. Sunday where a resident reported her boyfriend had thrown items in the home during a verbal dispute and she was in fear for her young daughter's safety. The officer learned nothing physical occurred and stood by until the resident left with a relative.
-- Jesse Steven McVey, 20, Centre Avenue, Lisbon, was charged with felony domestic violence after officers responded to a Main Street home at 1:02 a.m. Monday in reference to a domestic dispute and found him leaning on a vehicle outside and the female involved at a neighbor's house. McVey was found to have an injured leg and several cuts on both arms and a shoulder, which he admitted doing to himself with a knife inside the home. He said he injured his leg while jumping out of the vehicle. He was also found to be highly intoxicated and admitted to drinking half a pint of moonshine, 17 beers and then some Twisted Teas, as well as taking a Molly. The female was transported by to the hospital by a friend to be evaluated. McVey was transported by Leetonia EMS to the hospital, and had to be restrained due to becoming combative. The charge was made a felony due to a prior domestic violence charge.
-- A Bears Den resident reported at 10:29 a.m. Monday she received a notice in reference to a loan taken out in her name without her knowledge in November.
Salem
-- Police were called at 7:25 p.m. Sunday to the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue for a well-being check. A caller said her granddaughter's roommate was kicking her out of the residence and she wanted officers to check on her. Police made contact with the granddaughter and the roommate and both were advised of tenant laws and their options.
-- Police responded at 7:10 p.m. Sunday to Kelley Park off of Prospect Street to check the well-being of a man who contacted police and said he was there. He said he had nowhere to go and was waiting for his girlfriend to get off of work. He was told his options.
-- Officers responded at 4:21 p.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of Orchard Avenue to assist with a medical call. Fire department medics and EMT ambulance arrived to treat the patient.
-- Suspicious activity was reported inside a business in the 500 block of East Second Street at 4:25 p.m. Sunday. Police learned the people were permitted to be inside the business.
-- Police were dispatched at 1:10 p.m. Sunday to the 500 block of Fair Avenue for a well-being check and met the woman caller there. She said she had been trying to reach her son for the past seven days with no response and she attempted knocking on the door with no response. Officers had no contact at the residence and a neighbor reported seeing the resident a few days before. While on the scene with the woman, her son sent her messages that he was sick. No further assistance was needed.
-- Police were called at 12:46 p.m. Sunday to the 2800 block of East State Street to check the well-being of a man. A woman from Columbiana had called and said she and her husband had a dispute and she located her husband's truck at a Salem business, but he wasn't there. Officers gathered information and asked other department to be on the lookout for him.
-- No disturbance was found after police were called at 10:45 a.m. Sunday to the 2200 block of East State Street for an incident involving two unknown people.
-- Officers responded at 8:24 a.m. Sunday to the 900 block of Arch Street for a report of a person with a firearm threatening self-harm. The caller identified the person and officers were aware of the person suffering from existing medical conditions. As they approached, the person came outside with no firearm visible. Officers spoke with him and he was highly agitated and upset at family for calling police, as he did not trust police. He said he wouldn't go willingly for treatment, but officers spoke with him at length and explained how there was no other choice but to seek further evaluation since he had demonstrated serious intent of self-harm. He reluctantly agreed to seek treatment and fire department medics and EMT were advised they could approach the scene. He was placed in the ambulance without resistance and officers rode in the back of the ambulance and additional officers followed and remained at the emergency room at Salem Regional Medical Center. Police remained until a doctor assessed the patient. Hospital security continued to monitor the situation. Perry Township Police had also responded to Arch Street to assist.
Perry Township
-- Police were called at 1:37 p.m. Saturday to the 1100 block of Prospect Street Extension for a domestic dispute between a woman and man, but learned it was only an argument over relationship infidelities and nothing physical occurred. The woman left for the night.
-- Police were asked at 7:49 p.m. Saturday by the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office to search the area of U.S. Route 62 near Country Club Lane for a vehicle that fled a domestic dispute. The vehicle was not found.
-- Hunter Harper, 18, of Beloit, was cited for driving without a license after his vehicle pulled left and struck a parked vehicle pushing it into another parked vehicle in the parking lot of Fresh Mark at 11:05 p.m. Dec. 9.
