County Sheriff

– Billie Cain, Cunningham Road, Salem, called Tuesday with a child custody dispute involving her ex-husband because their 15-year-old-daughter was refusing to come home after staying with her father for the past month. Cain was advised to contract the county prosecutor’s office to determine if they can file unruly charges against her daughter.

– Marlia Hacker, Jimtown Road, East Palestine, reported at 10:19 p.m. Monday her grandson was threatening to harm her and her husband. The youth left before the deputy arrived, but before leaving he flattened the tires on his girlfriend’s motor vehicle. Charges are pending.

-Dawnitta Crespo, Shelby Road, Lisbon, reported her estranged husband and his sister were harassing her by hijacking her Facebook page.

– Brandi Dolph, Jimtown Road, East Palestine, reported Tuesday she and Karen McCoy were assaulted by Frank Carelli, who was charged with domestic violence.

Lisbon

– Caleb Simpson, 26, state Route 7, New Waterford, was charged with assault at 4 p.m. Tuesday after police were called to a West Lincoln Way home of Candy Kibler and spoke with Courtney Wilson, 25, Allendale Avenue, New Waterford, and Kibler, who was a witness.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 12:48 a.m. Tuesday a man was walking near the M&S Truck stop with no pants on.

– A woman reported at 2:17 a.m. Tuesday someone was setting off fireworks in the area of Union and Southwest Street. Police checked but did not hear anything.

– A man reported at 3:12 a.m. Tuesday a dog was barking near the East Salem Street and Firestone Avenue intersection. Police checked the area but did not hear a dog barking.

– A woman reported at 4:31 a.m. Tuesday the windows to her car were smashed while it was on West Railroad Street.

– Dave Perkins reported at 8:47 a.m. Tuesday a semi truck was disabled on state Route 14 in front of the American Legion entrance and was partially on the road. Police provided traffic control until a tow truck arrived.

– Sam Nelson, East Woodland Avenue, reported at 9:51 a.m. Tuesday someone smashed the windshield of his vehicle with a bat that he found in his yard.

– East Palestine police reported at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday someone in a gray 2012 Dodge pickup truck was possibly headed into the city and the driver was drunk and had made threats to his wife or girlfriend.

– A boy reported at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday children were riding bicycle in the area of Ryan’s News.

– Finsley Martin, Apache Lane, reported at 10:34 p.m. Tuesday a neighbor was having a fire and it was willing his home with smoke.

East Palestine

– Edward N. Leaf, Alice Street, reported at 5:39 a.m. Monday a rock had been thrown through his window inside the front door.

– Lyda Jones, Alice Street, reported at 7:49 a.m. Monday someone stole her car from her garage during the night.

Perry Township

– Police received a medical assistance call via 911 at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday to check on an elderly female who had fallen and hit her head. Officers stood by until KLG ambulance and fire department first responders arrived. The female was transported to the hospital by KLG.

– Melody Balogh, 49, of Rose Drive, Lisbon, was cited for fictitious plates after a traffic stop on South Lincoln Avenue at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday. The plates on the blue Chevy Impala she was driving were not properly transferred from the tan Honda she previously drove. Her vehicle was towed by Sinsley’s with a hold for proper title and registration.

– A woman in the 1400 block of West State Street called at 9:31 a.m. Tuesday to speak with police about people trespassing on her property while she wasn’t home on Monday. Two males apparently had been walking around the residence. She located a check with the company name on it along with other information. After making contact with the company, it was determined the company was given a work order by the lending institution for failure to maintain the property. She was advised of the findings.

Salem

– An officer on patrol at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday saw a vehicle at Waterworth Memorial Park off of Sunset after hours. The vehicle was checked and found unoccupied.

– A barking dog was reported at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Fair Avenue, but officers didn’t hear any barking after responding.

– A dispute was reported at 11:44 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West Fifth Street over use of a vehicle. An officer was able to resolve the dispute.

– A reckless driver was reported at 10:39 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Jennings Avenue where the caller reported a male was driving recklessly in the area because of an ongoing dispute. Officers made contact with the other person involved and advised him of the complaint.

– Possible shots were reported fired at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Sixth Street, but nothing was located.

– Police were called at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of Aetna Street for a fight in progress between two females. The caller said the other female is a juvenile who had taken some of her clothing and they got into an argument, then the juvenile pushed and hit her and took off. Officers were able to locate the juvenile and return her to her parents next door. Both parties involved had minor physical injuries from the altercation and both wanted to pursue charges. They were told they would need to file statements and the incident would be referred to a prosecutor. The juvenile was advised the homeowner did not want her back on her property and she could be charged for criminal trespass.

– A Lisbon woman reported at 7:26 p.m. Tuesday that cash was stolen from her purse when she left it in a shopping cart at Walmart on East State Street.

– A reckless driver was reported at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at North Lincoln Avenue and East State Street, but the vehicle was not located.

– A barking dog was reported at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. The caller said the dog was out on the front porch and had been barking all day. The dog was no longer outside when police checked.

– A reckless driver was reported at 5:59 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Rose Avenue.

– A woman in the 600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday said a motor vehicle drove through her yard.

– Police were called at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday for a protection order violation in the 1200 block of East Third Street where a woman said she was receiving communications via telephone from another party and had an active protection order in place. The complaint was under investigation.

– Cheryl McDevitt, of Highland Avenue, reported at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday that she was eastbound on East State Street and stopped in traffic just east of Walmart for a construction company doing work on the road. While her vehicle was stopped in traffic, an orange construction sign on the east side of the road blew over striking the right front passenger door of the vehicle, causing damage to the mirror and scratching the door.

Wellsville

– James Barton, Broadway, reported at 1:54 a.m. Thursday that Robert Wright was witnessed damaging the top railing of Barton’s porch with a golf club, then throwing the club in the grass by Barton’s van. Robert Wright fled the scene when police arrived, but eventually returned to the scene, and was taken into custody and cited for public intoxication and criminal damage.

– Police were called at 4:28 p.m. Thursday to Family Dollar, Main Street, regarding a theft in the store. Assistant manager Faye Lombardozzi told police a woman she was with at the counter attempted to walk out of the store with several items in her purse that she did not purchase. The woman, Karen Woofter of New Cumberland, admitted to taking the items without purchasing them by concealing them in her purse. An officer searched the purse, which contained the items in question valued at $66.39. Woofter was cited for theft.

– While on patrol at 9:52 p.m. Friday, police observed a white Chrysler 300 with two occupants on Commerce Street making a left-hand turn onto 15th Street without using a turn signal. The vehicle’s driver eventually stopped at a house on 14th Street, where an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Malik R. Pullie, left the car and headed toward a house, to which an officer ordered him to go back to his vehicle twice before Pullie exited the house and returned to the car. When asked why he kept walking when he was given lawful commands to go back to the vehicle, Pullie responded “I don’t know.” Pullie was taken into custody and cited for obstruction of official business and failure to signal.

– While speaking to neighbors at the intersection of Main and Fourth streets around 3 a.m. Saturday, police observed Kelly J. Duncan exit My Bar, visibly intoxicated, and yelling at other patrons near the Main Street gazebo. An officer advised her to stop with her actions, to which Duncan yelled back an obscenity from across the street, causing annoyance and alarm to the neighbors. Duncan was taken into custody and cited for persistent disorderly conduct by way of public intoxication.

– Police were called at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday regarding a breaking and entering at a Lincoln Avenue home. Officers spoke with Rodney W. McHorney II, who said when he returned home a few minutes prior to the call, he noticed a couple chairs on his front porch were misplaced and moved away from his window. He also noticed a table knocked over and the screen of a window cut open. Officers found no one in the home. Officers then went downstairs and found multiple cabinets and drawers open along with the refrigerator in the kitchen, but nothing appeared missing. McHorney went upstairs and found the dresser in his room was ripped apart and searched through, and realized he had four expensive watches missing. Those watches were a black Fossil, a silver Bulova, a silver Citizen and a silver/gold NODO. Also reported missing was a 32-inch RCA LED television with a built-in DVD player, a 10-inch Viking Pro tablet, and his pet cat, the latter believed to have escaped through the torn screen window. McHorney said his home was broken into before, once involving a relative who reportedly is battling a drug addiction. He added he at work when he believed the incident took place. A statement was left for him to fill out, and was advised to fill out a detailed list of everything missing and to let the department know if he sees anything else missing.

Salem

– Firefighters received a call at 6:31 a.m. Wednesday for a strong smell of natural gas in the kitchen area at Giant Eagle, 2401 E. State St., where they checked with a gas monitor and didn’t have any detectable readings. A pilot light on a broiler unit was not lit. The natural gas supply to the broiler was turned off and management was told to have a service company clean and repair the unit prior to operating it.

Lisbon

-The fire department was called to pump the basement at Morgan’s Drug Store at 7:10 p.m. Monday.

-Scott O’Shabin reported there was a fire in the dumpster outside the apartments on Moore Street at 12:09 a.m. Tuesday.

Highway Patrol

– Chelsea D. Yarwood, 25, Walnut Grove Drive, New Waterford, was westbound on Hamilton Road in Unity Township at 9 p.m. Wednes-day and went off the right side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control, expired tags and expired license.

– James Cameron Wain, 18, Maple Drive, East Liverpool, recently reported to the patrol Christopher Michel Hanlon, 18, Gonzales Avenue, East Liverpool, was a passen-ger in his vehicle that crashed on Union Ridge Road on June 17. Wain and another passenger had initially told troopers there was no one else in the vehicle, but later said Hanlon was in the back seat. Hanlon was not at the scene when troopers arrived, but had been taken by a relative to ELCH with serious injuries.

Lisbon

– At 2:28 p.m. Sunday, the county sheriff’s office transferred a 911 call from Brook Watkins, who reported a vehicle crashed in front of her home on Jerome Street. Watkins said the vehicle hit a telephone pole and brought an unknown wire down, and that there appeared to be injuries. Police and firefighters responded to the crash and the vehicle was removed by Baker Towing. Ohio Edison was also notified.

Columbiana

– Ed Mochnach reported at 8:47 a.m. Saturday he was in a domestic with his ex-wife Susan Mochnach over mirror as they were trying to sort through property. Police went to the home and the issue was resolved without a problem.

– A woman reported at 12:25 p.m. Saturday a small dog was inside a truck in the Dollar General parking lot. Police checked but the truck was already gone.

– Adam Himes reported at 12:46 p.m. Saturday there was a truck blocking the alley near West Park Avenue that was with the gas company working on the street. Police spoke with the workers and the truck was moved.

– A Howard Street woman reported at 2:56 p.m. Saturday there were possible electrical problems there. The problems were resolved.

– A woman reported at 4:28 p.m. Saturday a lifeguard at the pool found a bag of what appeared to be crack. Police took the bag for testing.

– Corey Rabequer reported at 4:46 p.m. Saturday there was a white Grand Prix broken down in front of the First Christian Church and the driver was in need of help changing a tire.

– Police checked on a report of someone smoking marijuana in a red Corvette at Firestone Park at 5:10 p.m. Saturday but the car was not there when police arrived.

– April Seibert, Spruce Street, was cited for expired registration after a traffic stop on Main at 8 p.m. Saturday.

– Tim Bacon reported at 9 p.m. Saturday cars were speeding up and down Seventh near the Parish Festival. Police checked but did not see anyone speeding.

– Police checked up on a report of kids with fireworks near the tennis courts in Firestone Park at 10:26 p.m. Saturday. Police were able to speak with a parent.

East Palestine

– Police were called to the community center at the park at 5:43 p.m. Saturday for a report that woman had taken her dog inside the building and was refusing to take it out. Police told Mary K. Davis that dogs were not allowed in the building and it had to be taken outside. Davis refused to cooperate and she and Beth Berry, East North Avenue, were both removed from the building and told not to return with the animal.

– Police were called to the Moose Lodge on East Rebecca Street at 2:50 a.m. Saturday after a woman called 911 in distress saying she was in a vehicle with a man headed to the Moose. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the Moose parking lot and arrested Tyler G. McCullough, 24, Jimtown Road, for OVI and driving under suspension. The woman was also heavily intoxicated and difficult to understand. She was taken by police to the police station to be picked up by someone else while McCullough was taken to the county jail. McCullough had also been arrested by police around at 6:15 p.m. Friday during a traffic stop on James Street near Taggart Street. At that time, he was charged with OVI, drug possession, open container, driving under suspension and driving with fictitious plates. Police also charged Lawrence E. Owens, 53, state Route 170, Duane A. Reed Jr., 37, Enon Valley, Pa., and Tracy L. Souders, 50, West Clark Street, for open container.

– Melanie A. Davis reported at 5:28 p.m. Friday she lost her credit card while shopping in town and it was used later in the day.

Salem

– Police responded at 9:51 a.m. Sunday to the 1400 block of East State Street where a woman asked to speak with an officer. She wanted to know her options in dealing with her husband while he is suffering from a mental illness. She was told her options.

– A caller reported a malfunctioning traffic signal at 6:53 a.m. Sunday at East Pershing and Ohio. The street department was contacted.

– Officers responded to a call at 4:09 a.m. Sunday for an attempted suicide in a parking lot near O’Reilly’s auto parts, 2216 E. State St.. She had taken an unknown amount of prescription medication and was taken to SRMC.

– A vehicle was stopped by police at 10:17 p.m. Saturday after traveling along a muddy path through a field from Bricker Farm Lane to Orchard Bend Drive. An occupant said he was related to one of the owners of Bricker Farms but could not specifically say he had permission to drive on the property. They were told to get permission.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Oak Street at 8:51 p.m. Saturday to assist the fire department with traffic control after a utility pole caught fire. Ohio Edison was called.

– An officer at 8:24 p.m. Saturday saw two people trespassing in the back yard of a property in the 600 block of Cedar Street. They were both identified as juveniles and given a verbal warning and told they could be charged if they return.

– Police were called at 8:32 p.m. Saturday to the 2300 block of Lexington Avenue for a breaking and entering in progress. Officers checked the residence and did not find anything suspicious inside. A woman reported she heard her front door open and then ran to her neighbor’s home to call police. She was told to call if she noticed anything suspicious or something missing from the residence.

– An anonymous person responded to the police station at 6:17 p.m. Saturday with property left at a business in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue. Officers were able to identify the owner of the property, but were unable to make contact, placing the property in lost and found.

– A caller at 6:03 p.m. Saturday reported a problem with the road in the 1600 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. A spot in the road appeared to be caving in. The street department was called and placed barricades around the area in question.

– A man at 5:59 p.m. Saturday turned in a debit card found at Centennial Park on the ground.

– Police responded to Centennial Park for a report at 5:46 p.m. Saturday of illegal activity/drug abuse. An anonymous person said several people in the park had been selling/dealing illegal drugs. The information will be passed onto the Drug Task Force.

– A debit card reported left in an ATM in the 2400 block of East State Street at 4:13 p.m. Saturday was placed in the police lost and found.

– A caller at 4:11 p.m. Saturday reported a dog had been tied up for several hours outside without water or shade in the 400 block of East Fifth. No dog was found.

– Chad Raymond, 26, of 110 W. Pershing St., was charged with physical control after police were called for a possible intoxicated driver at 12:13 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of New Garden.

– Officers were dispatched at 7:59 a.m. Saturday to Quaker City Castings , East Euclid Street, for a theft report. Company president Jeff Korff said he arrived at work and was told by the maintenance department that several items were taken from the property. The suspect allegedly entered the company grounds at 12:45 a.m. and had taken a fork lift and computer equipment.

Lisbon

– Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 7541 Pleasantview Drive at 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

POLICE

County Sheriff

-Gene Sechrest, Quaker Church Road, East Rochester, reported he was pressure washing his home on Tuesday when he discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole, and a deputy pried out a .40 caliber ball.

– Deputies were called to a home on Osbourne Road in Washington Township at 11:10 a.m. Thursday in regard to a 60-year-old deceased man who appeared to have died from natural causes.

-Lucas Chizzonite of CLS Contracting reported Thursday the company house at 29093 U.S. Route 30, Kensington, has been stripped of its copper plumbing and the hot water tank. He last at the house in January.

Highway Patrol

– Alan W. Parsons, 50, Emerick Road, Summitville, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 7:15 a.m. Thursday and struck Michael Lee Williams Jr., 19, Campbell, who was westbound on state Route 558 and attempting to turn right onto state Route 45. After impact, Parsons went off the right side into a guardrail. Parsons and his passenger, Angel M. Parsons, 7, Emerick Road, Summitville, were taken to the SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries and Williams was also taken with serious injuries. Williams was also cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.

– Justin W. Freeman, 16, Steubenville-Pike, was northbound on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 6:30 p.m. Friday and went off the east side and airborne over a stream into an embankment. He was cited for failure to control.

– Johnny A. Speece, 34, Dresden Avenue, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 5 p.m. Tuesday and was struck by Kelsie L. Okon, 22, Enon Valley, Pa., who was eastbound on Heck Road and failed to yield from a stop sign. Okon was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign and Speece was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lisbon

– Brett-Logan Stuchell, 25, of Alliance, was cited for marijuana possession following a traffic stop in the Save A Lot parking lot at 3:41 p.m. Thursday.

– David Todd, East Chestnut Street, reported Wednesday he was punched in the face by a man he knows, but he changed his mind about pressing charges after talking it over with police.

– A barking dog complaint was received in the vicinity of East High and East Chestnut streets at 5:27 a.m. Thursday, but police did not hear any barking dogs when they arrived.

-Edward Davis, East Chestnut Street, reported he thought he was purchasing a boat on Craigslist from Dundee, Ohio, for $3,000, but it turned out to be a scam, with the scam part being that he had to pay through Amazon.com.

-Anna Shasteen, Sherman Street, reported someone charged $105 at the Walmart in Oberlin using her bank card number.

East Palestine

– Mary Davis, Moore Lane, reported at 6 p.m. Tuesday Mike Boswell was at her home. Police found there was a long standing dispute between the two over who owned a fence on the property. Davis and Boswell both told police they did not have the property surveyed, at which point police advised that until the survey is done proving ownership there was nothing the department could do at that time.

– Georgia Byler, North Market Street, reported at 7 p.m. Tuesday someone had stolen prescription medication from her car.

– Tim Tonkinson, West Clark Street, reported at 10:47 p.m. Monday people were being loud while his child was trying to sleep. Police checked the area but didn’t find any loud people.

– Payton Pokego, Valley Street, reported at midnight a group of boys wanted to fight her on North Market Street near Circle K and she was concerned that they were out past curfew. Police checked and did not see the boys in that area.

– Chuck Murray, North Sumner Street, reported at 11:17 a.m. Monday he received a scam phone call from someone claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House.

– Sherry Dyke, address not listed, reported at 11:44 a.m. Monday she received a scam phone call from someone claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House.

Columbiana

– An anonymous caller reported at 2:56 p.m. Thursday a semi was parked at the PNC Bank and Taco Bell parking lots and was taking up too many parking spaces causing a traffic hazard.

– Mary Hubanek, address not listed, reported at 5:39 p.m. Thursday her computer was hacked.

– Leetonia police requested assistance with a call at 333 Columbia St. at 8:15 p.m. Thursday.

– A woman reported at 10:45 p.m. Thursday a man was singing very loudly on the corner of North Elm and Prospect streets. Police warned George Garlesky, 21, Muncy, Pa., for excessive noise and told him to move along.

Salem

– Mildred M. McCue, Canfield, was cited for failure to yield following a two-vehicle crash at 12:29 p.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of East State Street. McCue backed from a driveway and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Timothy W. Kehoe, Malvern. McCue’s 87-year-old passenger was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

– An officer responded to a foreclosed home in the 600 block of North Broadway Avenue at 10:02 a.m. Thursday where a stove was removed sometime between September and June.

– Mary Ann Omamogho, Lubbock, Texas, was cited for a stop sign violation following a two-vehicle crash on East Pershing Street at South Lundy Avenue at 1:09 p.m. Thursday. Omamogho was eastbound and failed to stop, striking a westbound vehicle driven by Kenneth A. Poynter, Leetonia, who was attempting to turn left. No injuries were reported.

– A resident reported on station at 2:32 p.m. Thursday that payment of his social security was withheld in April due to an extra payment sent in September 2014, but that the payment was sent to someone in Florida. He said the situation has caused hardship and wanted it documented.

– An officer responded to a verbal dispute in the 1400 block of East State Street at 4:08 p.m. Thursday. Both people involved accused the other of instigating the fight. One left.

– A Goshen Road resident reported at 5:30 p.m. Thursday his daughter was bit on the face by a dog while at a friend’s house. An officer obtained the dog’s records and witness statements to forward to the health department for further evaluation.

– An officer responded to an East Fourth Street home at 6:14 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported a verbal altercation with his mother in reference to a woman at the residence. An officer returned to the home at 8:42 p.m. in reference to possible trespassing.

– Sarah J. Hunt, Salem, was cited for improper backing after a two-vehicle crash in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 8:46 p.m. Thursday in which she backed out of a parking space and struck a legally parked vehicle across the street. No injuries were reported.

– An Aetna Street resident reported at 6:57 p.m. Thursday that a woman she knows sent a man to her home to question her about a stolen item which she knows nothing about. The other woman denied any involvement.

– Officers responded to a Prospect Street home at 9:05 p.m. Thursday where the resident said his brother entered the residence through a window without his permission. There was no sign of forced entry.

– An Ohio Avenue resident reported at 9:34 p.m. Thursday several items were possibly removed from his home by the landlord.

– An officer responded to a Jones Drive home at 11:49 p.m. Thursday when a male resident reported a woman was upset because she wanted to get some belongings from the home and he would not let her. He said he eventually let her get the belongings and she left before the officer arrived.

– Police responded to the 400 block of Broadway Avenue at 12:03 a.m. Friday where a man was removed from a bar and was sitting on the roof of his truck across the street. The man said a bouncer shoved him and he had the right to file a lawsuit, and noted that he was not breaking the law by sitting where he was. He was told not to harass other patrons.

– Officers responded to the 200 block of North Union Avenue at 6:26 a.m. Friday when a resident said a seemingly aggressive dog was keeping him from reaching his vehicle. The humane officer responded and secured the dog.

Goshen Police District

– An officer responded to a Damascus home at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday to check on someone who called the crisis help hotline. The homeowner said he had a bad day, drank and then called the hotline because of suicidal thoughts. He and his wife both said he was all right.

– An officer responded to a 13000 block Middletown Road home at 8 a.m. Thursday when the resident reported someone entered his detached garage and removed a 30-gallon air compressor overnight.

– Joy M. Donham, Alliance, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in Beloit at 12:31 p.m. Thursday in which she was eastbound in the 18000 block of Fifth Street and traveled off the roadway. No injuries were reported.

– An officer responded to the Colonial Villa Trailer Park in reference to a medical emergency at 10:20 p.m. Thursday. The resident said he did not feel well and wished to go to the hospital. He was transported by the Damascus Fire Department to the hospital.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Deputies were called at 10:16 p.m. Wednesday in regards to a drug overdose. Sgt. Don Johnson of the East Palestine department met deputies and explained the person, Devon Baker, McClure Road, had already left by ambulance and he had also contacted a member of the county Drug Task Force, who was already there handling the scene.

Lisbon

– A Thomas Road resident reported at 6 a.m. Tuesday that her daughter’s ex-girlfriend was outside the residence threatening to harm herself and then left. Police caught up with the woman in her vehicle and she admitted being at the residence but denied threatening to harm herself, nor did police get the feeling she was that distraught. The woman was told if she showed up again at the residence she would be charged.

– Sierra Murray reported two girls were in the Dollar General store without any shoes at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police found the girls next door at McDonald’s with their parents, and they said a woman in the store told them to get some clothes on and then called them a derogatory term used to describe female dogs.

– Police were called to North Green Street about someone revving their engine over and over at 6:19 p.m. Tuesday. Police remained in the area and heard Richard Burton revving his truck engine in the garage. Police spoke with Burton, who agreed to stop for the night.

Highway Patrol

– David B. Mackall, 46, Peace Valley Road, Rogers, was westbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 8:55 p.m. Saturday and went left of center off the left side into a ditch and a bush. He was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday a lawn company was parked in a bad spot near the light at Fairfield Avenue and Duquesne Street. Police spoke with a worker and the truck was moved.

– Kameron Hawkins, South Main Street, reported at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday someone stole a dirtbike and other equipment from his truck, damaging his tail gate and the neighbor’s fence in the process. The dirtbike was later found.

– Richard Hooper, South Main Street, reported at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday his yard was damaged by people stealing from his neighbor’s truck.

– A man reported at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday a suspicious man was walking through yards in the 400 block of North Main Street with a clipboard. Police found the man was a real estate appraiser for the county and he was leaving tags on some of the doors.

Leetonia

– Cameron Hurst, 22, East Liverpool, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at Main and Center streets at 5:53 p.m. June 6.

– Carmen Andric, 24, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of the sheriff’s office and cited for driving under suspension and speed following a traffic stop at state Route 344 and Betz Street at 3:28 p.m. June 8.

– An officer initiated a traffic stop at Madison Street and state Route 344 at 12:30 p.m. June 9 in which the driver, Mindy S. Burt, 29, Columbiana, was found to have an active warrant against her, but it was found that a former friend had illegally used her license and she was in the process of correcting the issue. Burt was ultimately cited for speed.

– Police found suspected heroin during a routine traffic stop in the 200 block of Front Street at 10:18 p.m. June 10. An officer initiated the traffic stop of Corey Snay, 22, Leetonia, who had with her a male passenger from Salem, then requested assistance from the East Palestine K-9 officer, Toney, due to suspicion of illegal substances in the vehicle. Toney detected the suspected heroin as well as other drug paraphernalia which was recovered and sent for testing. Snay was cited for driving under suspension, while additional charges are pending test results.

– Matt Kern, 34, Leetonia, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop for a moving violation at state Route 344 and Betz Street at 4:25 p.m. June 13.

– Tina Colvin, 40, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension, expired license and loud exhaust following a traffic stop at state Route 344 and Water Street at 5:12 p.m. June 15.

– Shane Seddon, 36, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension and speed following a traffic stop in the 300 block of Columbia Street at 10:40 a.m. June 18.

Perry Township

– Police responded to the 1000 block of Prospect Street for a fraud report involving a Craigslist scam at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday.

– An officer on patrol at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday saw a person going door to door with a clipboard in the area of Union Avenue and East 12th. The man said he was with Now Communications Direct TV from Pittsburgh. He was advised of the township resolution against door-to-door soliciting.

– An officer on patrol at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday saw a vehicle parked on Egypt Road at East Pine Lake Road and made contact with a male and female who were warned about trespassing on the property.

Salem

– Travis Culler, 28, of 1425 E. State St., was charged with menacing and taken to jail after he allegedly threatened to smash the windows out of a man’s truck with a brick. Geoffrey Coccia also reported Culler picked up a long piece of wood and threatened to smash the windows while he was sitting in his truck. While at the Vine Avenue location police also found that Coccia, 50, of South Union Avenue, was involved in a private property accident. He had been sitting stationary in his vehicle in the apartment complex driveway when he got into a verbal altercation, backed up and struck the front of a parked vehicle owned by Stephen Thomas Vishak.

– An East Fifth Street woman reported at 12:42 a.m. Thursday a woman on Facebook threatened to kill her. An officer contacted the other woman and showed her the message, which she denied sending while saying it was her Facebook page. She was told to have no contact with the woman.

– At 12:14 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the 200 block of West Wilson Street for a report of two men receiving phone calls from two other males who had been told earlier not to have contact with them. The one man was asked if certain people were in the house. Both men said the calls were related to a fight earlier. An officer contacted one of the males and he was told not to contact them, which he denied doing. Both reports referred to a call at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday for a fight in progress in the 100 block of West Pershing Street where several people had been involved in a physical altercation.

– A possible impaired driver was reported in a Chrysler convertible at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday near the Salem Plaza. The vehicle was located in a nearby parking lot and the driver was advised of the complaint. The driver displayed no indication of impairment.

– A woman from the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge called at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday for police to check the well-being of a girl, noting she had been asking for money earlier in the day and they knew she was entered as missing a few weeks ago. An officer learned the girl who OK and no longer entered as missing.

– A woman in the 1100 block of Cedar Ridge reported at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday that an area resident had forwarded a nasty letter because she had posted the driveway as private property to prevent motorists from turning around in her recently placed concrete driveway. An officer attempted contact at the neighboring residence she pointed out, but nobody was home. Another neighbor said he had not seen anyone there for at least a week.

– Officers responded at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday to the parking lot off of Maple Street in Centennial Park for a report of a man that appeared passed out in a parked car. The vehicle was pulling out as an officer arrived and a traffic stop was initiated on Park Avenue. The driver was fine and had just stopped for a short rest.

– A resident in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street reported criminal damaging at 7:04 p.m. Wednesday, showing officers a glass table in the back yard was shattered.

– An officer on patrol at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday noticed a large amount of smoke coming from a property in the 1200 block of East Pershing Street. The resident was burning live branches and told about the open burning ordinance.

– Suspicious activity was reported at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Highland Avenue where a male claiming to be from a company called Cable Now was knocking on doors and trying to gain access to homes. The caller who reported the male said he was verbally aggressive in trying to convince people to let him inside. The incident had happened the day before, but the caller had been told to call back if the man was seen. Several minutes after the call, officers were dispatched back to the area because the man was seen again. Officers made contact and learned he worked for Cable Now. He was told he needed a valid permit to solicit within the city limits. He said he would stop.

– A woman reported at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday reported she was followed after work at Elm Avenue by a female known to her.

– John Burcaw, 50, of Berlin Station, was taken by KLG Ambulance to SRMC after saying he blacked out while driving and his vehicle ran off the road at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle had been northbound in the 1600 block of North Ellsworth and left the right side of the road, striking and shearing off a fire hydrant, crossing another driveway and going through the front lawn of another property, striking a large shrub, narrowly missing the rear of two parked vehicles before continuing across an open field of grass, entering a wooded tree line and striking a tree..

– Police responded to the 700 block of New Garden for a dispute over a property line at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday. Both parties were told the property had to be surveyed to verify the property lines. Both locations are rental properties so the residents were referred to their landlords. Officers also made contact with one of the residents regarding a car door accidentally opened into the neighbor’s door in the same driveway. The person responsible did make contact with the neighbor to take care of the paint scuff.

Salineville

– Rhonda Jones, Mill Street, reported at 11 p.m. June 14 her prescription medications were stolen from her home. This was not the first time it had happened. There were no signs of forced entry. She said her son’s bedroom also was entered although nothing was reported missing.

– Police and fire crews were called at 3:23 p.m. June 15 to the Tangerine Lounge on West Main regarding a dog trapped in the basement. Witnesses said the neighbor’s dog was chasing a cat and got trapped. The dog eventually wiggled its way out of another area of the building.

– Police were called at 5:35 p.m. Monday to a Water Street residence for a neighbor dispute that involved borrowed money. Both were told to pursue the matter in civil court, if necessary.

– While on patrol at 10 p.m. Monday, police ran a license plate at the Dollar General parking lot and discovered the owner, Jessica Hill, to have a warrant out of the sheriff’s office for larceny. Hill was taken into custody.

– Police and EMS were called at 10:11 p.m. Wednesday to a McKinley Avenue residence for a man who said he had stomach pain. He was taken to a hospital.

– A John Street resident reported at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday someone damaged his pool by throwing a large rock at it. Video surveillance will be reviewed.

– While on patrol around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police spotted Kaluha Talbot, who was know to have an active warrant with the sheriff’s office. He was taken into custody without incident.

St. Clair Township

– While on patrol, an officer reported seeing a vehicle leave a known drug house on Sharon Street, and finding that the license plate on the Camaro was registered to a Volkswagen, pulled it over. The driver, Mitchel O. Lacey, 44, no address listed, said he had given a ride to a guy named Josh and then stopped at a store in Glenmoor. When he came out, both the man and $60 were missing from his vehicle, and he was driving around looking for him and stopped at the Sharon Street house. Lacey’s license was suspended, and the officer conducted an inventory of his vehicle, which reportedly turned up a loaded syringe between the driver’s seat and console and the burned bottoms of pop cans from underneath the passenger seat and trunk. Lacey was charged with driving under suspension, fictitious plates and possession of drug abuse instruments.

– Officials of Shelly and Sands Construction Co. reported the windows broken out of an excavator.

– Leigh A. Campbell, Patterson Avenue, reported a fraud incident.

– A man was removed from his mom’s Glenn Street home and told to sober up at the house next door before returning or he would be charged.

– James Smith, Winston Drive, reported his mailbox struck. The mailbox had red paint on it, possibly from a car that had been parked in his neighbor’s driveway, he reported.

– Officers reported assisting East Liverpool officers involved in a high speed pursuit on Riverview Street during which the suspects were combative.

– Officers were called to Fredericktown for a vehicle parked on private property, with possible drug activity reported. Caretaker Gary Winterburn told officers he had encountered the same vehicle previously. The driver and three passengers came from The Tubs and, when asked by police, were unaware they were required to have a pass to swim there. The driver told officers her license plate had been stolen in New Brighton, Pa., which was confirmed, and she was advised not to return to the private area or face charges. Winterburn reportedly became angry that officers were allowing the foursome to leave with just one license plate on the car and told them he better not find the car there again, prompting the officer to intervene and tell him that was enough. According to reports, Winterburn then told the officer he “better realize he is on private property,” and he was reminded he had called police and not to make threats but to call the chief if he didn’t like the way the call was being handled. The officer reported that Winterburn said that would do no good and that, they own 4,400 acres and “they are only worried about them paying high taxes” and not having officers respond to help them with their problems. He was advised to get in his Jeep and leave, according to reports.

– Officers were called twice to the same Dunn Road residence Tuesday for reported domestic disputes between Aleasha and Tyler Backus. Mrs. Backus reported he pushed her onto the bed and held her down, trying to take her phone, and officers told her if she is “constantly getting beaten on,” she should follow through with charges. When they responded the second time, it was to a report of Mr. Backus breaking out windows in a vehicle, and they found Mrs. Backus and her 8-year-old child sitting in the car. Mr. Backus was in the house. It was determined the home is actually in the jurisdiction of the sheriff’s department, and deputies responded. After Mrs. Backus declined to file charges, the couple was advised that, if officers had to return, they would both be charged and Children’s Services would be notified.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– An employee of DP Fuels, state Route 7, New Waterford, reported a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a car at 1:02 p.m. Monday. East Palestine Fire EMS were treating Cassandra Mahoney, the woman, in the back of the ambulance. Mahoney said she has a condition which causes her to become nauseated when it gets too warm. She signed a refusal for treatment.

-Kerry Keeter, Black Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday, on the previous Tuesday evening she placed her Arrow Disposal garbage container at the end of her driveway and when she left for work on Wednesday morning she noticed the container was missing. She found a bag of garbage from inside the container down the road. She also called the company to report the incident.

– David Merriman, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported at 3:44 p.m. Tuesday he believes his wallet was stolen by someone he knows. It contained multiple credit cards and bank cards.

– Alisha Backus, Dunn Road, Wellsville, reported at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday her husband, Tylor, took her phone. A verbal argument turned physical and then she left the home. She had no visible injuries, but wanted information on getting a protection order. Tylor left for the evening.

-A possible domestic situation was reported at a Steubenville Pike home at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday. A Saline Township officer told deputies Anna Cianni, left by ambulance due to stomach pains and was being transported to Trinity Hospital. She got out of a vehicle driven by Tim Hannon Jr., when it was stopped. The vehicle they were traveling in, a silver, Hyundai Tiburon, is believed to have been stolen from Oklahoma. Deputies checked the area, but did not find the vehicle.

– Charles Morrow, School Street, Washingtonville, reported at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday he was assaulted by one of his tenants, Andrew Brown, West Main Street, Salem. Morrow said Brown hit him in the ribs and pushed him backward, causing him to fall onto the ground. He had abrasions on his arms and back. Deputies tried to speak with Brown, but could not reach him.

– John Shircliff, Hunters Camp Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday he received court papers from Summit County Courts claiming he has unpaid student loans. He believes his ex-wife may have signed his name on the student loan payments.

– A small child was reportedly walking on Carmel Achor Road at 11:03 a.m. Monday. The 4-year-old was dropped off at the home of Cody Peterson, 19, before deputies arrived. Peterson told deputies the child’s father dropped the boy off earlier for child care. Peterson said usually the boy falls back to sleep and then wakes Peterson up when he is ready to get up, but the boy must have left instead. Jennifer Flowers, 26, who was also there said she was not aware the child had been at the home until someone knocked on the door to ask if they were missing a small boy. Deputies spoke to the boy about not leaving again, spoke to the people who found him walking on the road and informed the boy’s father, Paul Mattern, about what happened.

– Sarina Stacy, McAllister Road, Lisbon, reported at 1:57 p.m. Tuesday the post office delivered two small packages to her mailbox on Monday, but they were not there when she went out to get the mail. The value of both of the packages was about $28.

– Heidi Pecorelli, the Columbiana County Dog Warden, reported at 12:29 p.m. Tuesday a worker at the facility was found to have a loaded syringe. Megan Tomlin said she is eight months pregnant and has been prescribed progestrin by her obstetrics doctor, which she takes by syringe. She went to her car to take it and Pecorelli saw her before she took it. Pecorelli told her to replace the cap on the syringe and wait on a bench nearby, but Tomlin depressed the plunger instead, squirting the contents on the ground. K-9 Jesy checked around Tomlin’s vehicle, but did not alert to any drugs inside. Four white tablets Tomlin said were tramadol and an additional two and a half white tables she claimed were for her nerves were found in the bottom of Tomlin’s purse. They will be sent for analysis to see what type of drugs they are. Her doctor’s nurse confirmed Tomlin has a medication she takes by syringe.

Highway Patrol

– Angela Wendle, 41, Ridge Road, East Rochester, was making a left turn from a private drive onto Ridge Road in West Township at 10:54 a.m. Saturday and was struck by Diana L. Pinkerton, 60, Ridge Road, East Rochester, who was eastbound. No citations were issued.

– Julia M. Morrison, 54, Erie Street, East Liverpool, was southbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 4:15 a.m. Monday and hit a deer.

Lisbon

– Police were called to the Hornsby House at 4:25 p.m. June 16 to stand by while a resident was transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.

– Victoria Entrikin reported Monday her husband’s son borrowed his motorcycle and will not return it. Police spoke with the son, Samuel Entrikin, who said the motorcycle was collateral for money he loaned his father so he could post bond to get out of jail. Since Entrikin had no paperwork proving his claim, he was told to return the motorcycle.

-Police were to Apple Grove apartments at 8:39 p.m. June 10 because Vickie Waite was reportedly causing problems. Waite was told to stay in her apartment and if she came out she risked being arrested.

Columbiana

– A South Main Street woman requested at 10:18 a.m. Tuesday police remove a bat from her home.

– At 3:56 p.m. Tuesday police received an anonymous complaint of illegal dumping at the city’s recycling bins by someone in a dark blue Ford pickup truck.

– Police and city firefighters and EMS provided assistance to the highway patrol with a two-vehicle traffic crash on Heck Road at state Route 7 at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

– A man reported at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday there was a raccoon in a dumpster at the Links at Firestone Banquet Center. Police told the man to let the raccoon climb out on its own or call nuisance control.

– Allison Cresanto, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday there was a shoplifter in the store. The matter is under investigation.

– Traci Meek, South Forbes, East Palestine, reported at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday that while driving past the Links at Firestone water from the sprinkler system knocked her glasses off and started her and gave her a headache.

– Sam Fleason, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday his neighbor was mowing grass.

– A Union Street man reported at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday a dirt bike was left leaning against the fence in his driveway and he wasn’t sure what to do.

Salem

– Scott Shaw, of Hawley Avenue, called at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday to report the theft of his 2005 Chevy Silverado. The truck was parked on the west side of his residence and was taken on or before Sunday.

– An officer on patrol at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of East Sixth Street saw a vehicle sitting in the back yard that appeared to be inoperable with no registration. A warning tag was placed on the vehicle to have it removed.

– A suspicious person was reported at 3:38 a.m. Wednesday at Circle K West, 780 W. State St., where a male reportedly told a clerk he was having car trouble and was then asking customers for money. Contact was made with the man who said he needed a quart of oil for his vehicle and did ask someone for $2. He had a friend on the way to bring him money.

– Loud music was reported at 1:19 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of West 16th Street where the resident was contacted and turned the music down.

– Police were called at 9:23 p.m. Tuesday to the 100 block of West Fourth Street for someone to be removed. An intoxicated male was in the process of leaving, he was given a ride to a friend’s house and told not to return.

– Police were called for a hit/skip near Court Drive at Centennial Park involving two teens. Taylor Warchol, 18, of Columbiana, said she was behind a car driven by Shonte Pipkins, 19, of South Howard Avenue, when the occupants exited the car. A conflict was ongoing and they thought a fight was possible. She drove around the car to avoid conflict and the other car turned into hers. An officer spoke to Pipkins and her passengers who said they did not try to exit the vehicle, but that the other driver drove around them aggressively and struck their vehicle. Both vehicles sustained damage. The accident occurred on private property so no citations were issued. No guilt was assigned due to conflicting stories.

– A 911 hangup call was reported at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue. The 911 call went to Columbiana County dispatch and yelling could be heard in the background. Officers checked the residence, but were unable to make contact with the residents.

– A woman in the 900 block of Franklin Avenue reported at 8:22 p.m. Tuesday that her ex-husband was sending her vulgar messages from his email account. She blocked him from contacting her through social media and her phone. She said he currently resides in Las Vegas and she just wants him to stop all contact. An officer told her he’ll be told to stop or face possible charges.

– A man in the 500 block of East Fourth Street reported at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday that his lawn lights were damaged. Officers found that two young neighbors were responsible for the damage. Officers spoke to their mother who said she would pay for the damage.

– Police were called for a verbal dispute at Centennial Park where a woman reported at 8:06 p.m. Tuesday that her ex-boyfriend took her car keys and drove off to his residence. Her mother was on her way and she was going to his residence to get her keys back. She was told to call police if he refused to give her the keys or they had any problems.

– Police were called at 8 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of South Ellsworth Avenue for telecommunications harassment. A man said he no longer wanted to communicate with a female and wanted her to stop contacting him. An officer told her to cease contact.

– An officer was flagged down at 7:53 p.m. Tuesday by a resident in the 1000 block of East Third Street for a barking dog. The officer attempted to make contact with the homeowner but no one appeared to be home.

– Police responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday to assist Children Services in a followup with a person about an ongoing investigation.

– A caller at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday reported juveniles smoking marijuana at Centennial Park. Officers spoke to them but there was no sign of marijuana use.

– An anonymous caller at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday at Walmart reported a dog left inside a vehicle for 30 minutes with the windows up. When officers arrived, the caller said the vehicle left.

– A male solicitor was reported at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Jefferson, but the man was gone when police checked the area.

– Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 9:46 a.m. Tuesday to check the well-being of a male who texted his nephew advising he was going to harm himself. The male said he was OK.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded at 12:43 Wednesday morning to a Market Street address for report of a man assaulting a woman. Robbie McLaughlin told them she wanted her boyfriend, Robert J. Reed, 42, East Fourth Street, to leave. He reportedly became combative with officers, staring down Captain Darin Morgan and then rushing out the door and coming nose-to-nose with Patrolman Shawn Long, charging him until Long had to taken him to the ground. Reed was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication.

– Paramedics asked for an officer at St. George Street, where they reported having administered twice the normal dose of Narcan to a man who was still unconscious but breathing. The man was placed on a gurney for transport but awoke before placed into the ambulance and asked what was going on. Told he had overdosed, the man denied it, saying he had just been sleeping. He was transported to the emergency room, where he declined treatment and checked himself out against medical advice.

– Michael Defelece, Harding Avenue, reported someone has been putting grass clippings over his fence and into his yard. He said there had been one bag in his yard then, after his neighbor cut his grass, there were two bags. Officers advised the same neighbor had been charged with putting garbage and grass cuttings into the dumpster of a local business. He was advised to contact the law director.

Wellsville

– Nina Graves, Lisbon Street, reported at 1:16 p.m. Saturday people were staying at her trailer without permission. Officers relayed the message to a man and woman there. As he was leaving, the officer drove around the back of the house on Wood Street and noticed a man walking toward the trailer. The man dropped something from his pocket, put his right foot on it and walked away. It was a needle. Derrick Salsberry was cited for possessing drug abuse instruments.

– Police at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday stopped a car with a headlight out. When asked to see a license, the driver, Brittany Blake, swore at the officer and asked for his name while the passenger, Katie Riley, continued to yell. Blake could not provide a photo copy of her license but provided her registration, insurance and social security number. Two other officers saw Riley filming the traffic stop on her phone. Both Blake and Riley continued to yell at the officers, threatening to sue for harassment. The original officer ran Blake’s information, which determined that she had a valid license. She was cited for a headlight violation.

Highway Patrol

– Larry White, 60, Continental Drive, Salem, and Floyd E. Dewalt, 59, Waldo, Ohio, were both northbound on U.S. Route 30/45 when White made a lane change to the left lane and sideswiped Dewalt’s truck. White was cited.

– A driver and two passengers were taken to an area hospital Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 62 in Smith Township. Amanda L. Riley, 37, Louisville, and Clarence Burney IV, 17, Canton, were both westbound with Burney stopped in traffic, when his vehicle was struck from behind by Riley’s vehicle. Burney crossed the center line to avoid striking a vehicle stopped ahead of him, according to reports. Burney and his passengers, Te’Quan Franklin, 16, Canton, and Travis Lucas, 17, Canton, were transported by Beloit EMS to Mercy Medical Center, where they were treated and released. Riley was cited for assured clear distance.

Elerick, 21, Ridge Street, Leetonia, began to slow when a westbound motorcycle driven by Jose de Ramos IV, 24, Columbia Street, Leetonia failed to stop, striking Elerick’s motorcycle. Both motorcycles went off the road, ejecting the riders. Elerick was flown to St. Elizabeth Medical Center by Stat MedEvac, while Ramos was taken by Leetonia EMS to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Due to extent of the drivers’ injuries, the trooper noted the crash report would be supplemented with additional information at a later date. No citations were reported in the initial report.

– A motorcycle driven by Larry L. Hively II, 42, Georgetown Road, North Georgetown, was traveling

southwest on Georgetown Road when it struck a deer, causing the motorcycle to go off the roadway, ejecting both Hively and his passenger, Tammy Hively, 40, same address, before striking a mailbox and overturning. According to reports, Hively suffered numerous broken bones, road rash and cuts to his head. Tammy Hively received bruises and sprains. Both were transported by EMT to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. The deer was killed by the impact.

Lisbon

– Jim Leake, Sherman Street, reported June 14 someone pulled utility flags from his lawn and he just wanted police to know it was not him.

– A group of boys asked to meet with an officer about a kitten stuck in a storm drain at the corner of West Chestnut and North Beaver streets at 3:46 p.m. Saturday. Police arrived and were able to remove the kitten without incident.

– Police were called to a minor traffic accident in the Valley View parking lot at 2:34 p.m. Saturday when motorist Kurt R. Holloway backed into a vehicle belonging to Tami M. Melott, causing damage to the driver side.

– A clerk at the Days Inn called at 9:06 p.m. Saturday because there was a customer playing air drums in his car and acting weird. The clerk said he had been staying at the hotel for the past four days. Police did not observe the man doing anything unusual in the car.

– A caller reported there was a suspicious motorist hanging around the Cedar Street park at 9:37 p.m. Friday and maybe messing with the new concession stand. Police arrived and spoke to the person, who said he was waiting for a friend. He was told to leave, which he did.

– Kevin T. Weigle reportedly backed a county vehicle into the rear of a vehicle belonging to Timothy W. Day in the county engineer’s parking lot at 2 p.m. Friday.

– A caller reported the home at 518 E. Chestnut St. was found to have multiple doors open at 8:06 p.m. Friday. Police searched the home, which appeared to be vacant, and then secured the doors before leaving.

– A complaint was received about the odor of dog feces coming from a home in the 500 block of West Washington Street at 3:46 p.m. Friday. The caller said the dog suffers from diarrhea and the smell is becoming a problem now that it is hot. Police spoke to the owner, who said she has an appointment at the veterinarian to get the problem fixed. While there police did observes feces in the yard from the woman’s two dogs.

– Rebecca Lavalley reported there was a possible fight on West Chestnut Street at 3:33 p.m. Friday, where Shawn Haines told police some man asked him for jumper cables and then men jumped him. The men then jumped into a burgundy vehicle and took off, but police were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Terry Beebout, Scroggs Road, Lisbon, asked deputies at 12:27 a.m. Saturday to check on Valerie Bowers, a neighbor involved in a fight earlier in the day. Deputies spoke with Bowers and she told them all was well.

– Raymond Tom, Mattix Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:15 p.m. Sunday someone in the camp was exposing himself and threatening people. Charles M. Alexander, 38, Mattix Road, Lisbon, was charged with public indecency.

– A suspicious person was reported at the Rogers Food and Fuel, Depot Street, Rogers, at 9:50 p.m. Friday. Deputies found John Dass at a home in the area. He said he went to the store to speak with an employee. He was ordered to stay away from all the property owned by the store owner or he would be charged.

– Heidi Wheeler, East Liverpool Road, Lisbon, reported at 9:41 p.m. Friday her brother, Robert Cunningham Jr., told her he had shells. When she asked him further, he stated he had seashells. Deputies looked for Cunningham, but were unable to find him.

– Someone at the county jail reported inmate Dana Duffield was harassing and threatening a corrections officer at 4:17 p.m. Sunday. Deputies spoke to both Duffield and the corrections officer, who planned to forward the information to his supervisor. Duffield claimed she did not need to report anything.

– An ATV accident was reported in the area of Buck Road in a field west of Westfield Lake Road at 6:31 a.m. Saturday. Lisa Codella and her friend Beth Crug were riding an ATV out in the woods with Codella’s boyfriend, Terry Schaffhausen sitting on the front of the ATV. Codella struck a rut and then ran into a tree, causing Schaffhausen to also collide with the tree and strike his head. Schaffhausen reportedly got into an argument after the accident and then about 30 minutes later he began complaining his head hurt and then he lost consciousness. He was flown to Akron City Hospital by Metro Life Flight.

– Catherine Smith, Beech Street, Hanoverton, reported someone throwing things at the trailer at 9:54 p.m. Saturday. No one was found.

– A loud party was reported in the area of Spillway Road, Lisbon, at 10:02 p.m. Saturday, which was a graduation party. Deputies told the owner to turn the music down and begin shutting things down due to the time of night.

– Julia Colner, Georgetown Road, Salem, reported at 1:05 a.m. Sunday there were possible trespassers. Deputies spoke to Colner, who began yelling at deputies and talking to her very unusually. Her parents camp next to her and told deputies she suffers from dementia and they will check on her.

– January Soloman, Butler Grange Road, Salem, reported at 10:34 p.m. Sunday her mother, whom she does not speak to, has been calling and harassing her. Deputies spoke to the mother, Linda Barnett, and told her to stop contacting her daughter or charges would follow.

– Sadie Johnson, Applesway Circle, Columbiana, reported at 10:05 p.m. Friday there was a possible prowler tapping on windows. Deputies checked the area, but did not find anyone.

Columbiana

– Christopher Burns, Union Street, reported at 5 p.m. Sunday he wanted someone removed from his home. At 5:43 p.m. he reported the man came back to the home but left again. Police found the man returned to get a phone number from someone. No other problems were reported.

East Palestine

– Jimmie L. Jones, North Market Street, reported at 5:11 p.m. Friday there were unauthorized transactions on her Home Savings and Loan credit card.

– Police notified the resident of 480 E. Taggart St. of a high grass complaint at 9 a.m. Saturday. The resident said the problem would be fixed.

East Liverpool

– While working extra duty at the Heights Manor housing complex Friday evening, an officer responded to the apartment of Shannon P. Knoblock, 24, regarding a possible domestic dispute. Her boyfriend, Matthew S. Masters, 23, told the officer they had been in a verbal argument. Inside, however, officers reported finding Knoblock with a bleeding nose, blood on her leg and clothing. While she initially refused to tell officers what occurred, saying she did not want anyone to get into trouble, with coaxing, Knoblock told officers Masters had seen her vehicle at her ex-boyfriend’s the previous day and confronted her about it Friday. She said he choked her and punched her in the face. Her child was at the apartment during the alleged dispute, and a report was forwarded to Children’s Services. Masters was charged with domestic violence.

– Barbara J. Homan, Wilbert Avenue, reported Monday she was concerned about her 1-year-old child who had returned from visitation with the father in Columbus. The child had marks on its face, arm and wrist, according to reports. She had already notified Children’s Services to secure an appointment to check the child.

– Charles J. Wright, Lang Street, reported his Ford Escape struck by a hit-skip vehicle while parked outside his residence Saturday.

Salem

– Illegal burning was reported at 3:19 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of Olive Street. The fire department found a small campfire with several people sitting around. The fire was legal.

– Officers responded at 2:53 a.m. Monday to the 500 block of Prospect Street regarding three suspicious people walking their dogs and wearing glow in the dark gloves. They told police they were just walking their dogs since it was a nice evening. They did not have glow in the dark gloves, but did have glow in the dark balls/toys.

– Randy Clunen, 51, last known address was Eudlid Street, was charged with disorderly conduct after threatening to harm himself following an incident reported at 12:48 a.m. Monday and then running in the direction of a train a few times. Police had been called to the 400 block of West Pershing Street for a verbal dispute where a woman was irate because a friend threw trash in the back driveway. They were told to pick up the trash and go their separate ways. When the male left, he threatened to harm himself by stepping in front of a train. A train was coming near the residence and he attempted to run toward the train. An officer had to physically stop him. Fire department first responders and EMT Ambulance responded and he again tried to run toward the oncoming train. He was stopped and charged, taken to SRMC and then to jail.

– An intoxicated driver was reported in the area of Bank Street a little after midnight Monday, but could not be found.

– Megan McCloskey, 23, of 232 W. 10th St., was charged with domestic violence and taken to jail after police were called to her home at 11:29 p.m. Sunday. A man sitting on the steps outside had visible injuries to his face, neck and chest.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 100 block of Park Drive at 8:57 p.m. Sunday, but officers found nothing suspicious. A person was making a phone call.

– A caller at 9:06 p.m. Sunday reported a suspicious person walking down the road in the 100 block of Park Avenue. The male was wearing a hospital gown and having trouble walking. Police were unable to locate the person, but the hospital called and said the man was back at the emergency room. He had made suicidal threats and was admitted back into the hospital.

– An East Euclid Street resident reported at 9:43 p.m. Sunday he was being harassed and threatened while in the 100 block of West State over a woman. Police spoke to all parties and advised them to stay away from each other.

– A woman in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street reported at 9:46 p.m. Sunday a man is continuously harassing her. She did not want him at the residence and was told she would have to evict him.

– A caller at 10:53 p.m. Sunday reported juveniles running up and down the road screaming and yelling in the area of Homewood and Aetna (editor’s note: probably Cavs fans).

– Officers responded to the SRMC emergency department for an irate patient at 10:59 p.m. Sunday. The man was highly intoxicated and said he did not like the way his nurse was talking to him. Officers were able to calm him down and he agreed to stay and be treated.

– A caller at 7:09 p.m. Sunday reported someone throwing fireworks out of a car at people walking in the 700 block of Franklin.

– Police responded at 6:51 p.m. Sunday to the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard in reference to a missing elderly woman with Alzheimer’s. Officers were flagged down by a relative of the woman who said she was located and doing fine.

– A man in the 300 block of Continental Drive reported Sunday an unauthorized charge for $300 on his card at the Chapel Hill Mall.

– Police were called at 3:35 p.m. Sunday to Tim Hortons, 2262 E. State St., for one to be removed. The business had a no trespass order against the person who was there. He left before police arrived.

– A man in the 700 block of Summit Street reported at 2:46 p.m. Sunday he located tobacco items inside his son’s room and told police about behavioral issues. He was told the process to pursue unruly charges and an officer spoke with the boy.

– An intoxicated person was reported in the 200 block of West State Street at 1:28 p.m. Sunday. The person was almost home and was told to stay inside for the rest of the day.

– Police responded to the 800 block of New Garden for a report at 11:13 a.m. Sunday of theft of utilities. Nothing was reported by the alleged victim.

– A woman in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue reported at 10:21 a.m. Sunday that her neighbor cut her grass without asking her permission and now is asking for money. She said it’s in her lease agreement that the landlord covers all landscaping expenses and she was not going to pay her neighbor. She was told it’s a civil matter she’ll have to clarify with the landlord.

Perry Township

– Police responded to Woodland Avenue in the city at 9:08 p.m. Saturday to assist Salem police and Children Services with the removal of children from a home.

– Police responded to West State Street and Georgetown Road at 7:05 p.m. Saturday to assist the patrol with a probable cause search of a vehicle.

– A Van Buren Avenue man reported Saturday a ring stolen from his home. He found the ring was pawned to Cashland in Salem. Police requested video from the store.

– An officer on patrol at 7:47 a.m. Saturday at the Ohio Edison access road on Egypt Road found a large piece of furniture and multiple bags of trash dumped over the closed gate. A name was found in the the trash and the people were given 24 hours to clean up the trash and furniture or face charges. The officer later saw them doing so.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Saturday night to a report of an overdose in the 100 block of West Fourth Street, where they found Micheala Reardon, 22, no address listed, lying in the grass along the street, outside the passenger door of a van. She was being tended to by neighbors, and a partially loaded syringe was noticed in the grass beside her, according to reports. The driver of the van, George Stoffel, no age or address listed, told officers they were driving from the Hammondsville area when Reardon suddenly slumped over onto him and he pulled over. According to reports, EMTs administered Narcan, reviving Reardon, and while officers were searching for her identification, they reported finding additional drug paraphernalia and a baggy containing white powder among her belongings. She was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

– Officers were called to a Market Street residence Saturday afternoon for a woman who overdosed on the prescription medication Topamax, which caused her to become erratic. Lifeteam ambulance responded.

– After receiving word from the county sheriff’s department that a 911 call had been received Saturday evening from Mayor Ryan Stovall’s office, officers checked and found the office locked and no one apparently inside.

– After a caller reported Saturday morning a bent and twisted stop sign at Broadway and Fifth streets, officers bent it back into shape.

– Helen Pack, Erie Street, reported Saturday morning she believed a female house guest had stolen items, but an officer located the items underneath an end table.

– The emergency room staff at East Liverpool City Hospital reported Saturday morning a patient being violent, and officers stood by while the woman was cared for and calmed down.

– Ashley N. Bach, East Fifth Street, reported Friday a piece of blacktop was thrown through the window of her vehicle.

– Responding to information that a runaway juvenile from Franklin County was staying at a Woodland Hills apartment, officers located the juvenile and transported him to the police station.

– Children’s Services reported an incident involving a child at Heights Manor, and the matter is under investigation.

– A woman reported she had had her grandson for three days and that her daughter, the child’s mother, has not provided him with proper care. She said he has not been eating and is not supervised when in his mother’s care. A copy of the report will be sent to Children’s Services.

– Tammy Stansbury, Etruria Street, reported her home and car egged.

– Officers were advised of a possible marijuana growing operation in a house at the rear of the old ABC Carryout and asked the carryout owner, Jaber Omaishat, about the matter. He advised his brother owns the house, and officers reported he reluctantly allowed them to search inside, where a grow light, an enclosure made of PVC pipe covered with clear plastic, but no plants were found. The matter remains under investigation.

St. Clair Township

-Taylor Herron, no address listed, reported that, while she was working at Walmart, her ex-husband Charles Herron Jr., 25, no address listed, was shopping and said that violates a protection order she has against him. He was charged with violating a protection order.

– Officers were called by North Star Critical Care ambulance paramedics to the shoe store in the Walmart plaza for a man passed out on the ground. He was on a gurney when police arrived, and witnesses had picked up a folded piece of paper they said had been lying by his leg and stuck it underneath the windshield wiper of the car he was in. The driver, Angel D. Behanna, no age or address listed, told police she saw Scott E. Hudson, 46, no address, walking and gave him a ride and he suddenly passed out in her car. Hudson reportedly told officers he has a heroin problem and said he had a needle in his pocket, which they found, along with a spoon. He denied that the paper, which contained tan powder residue, was his. Hudson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments and was transported to the hospital. The folded up paper will be sent for testing.

– A representative of the Sprint cellular phone company reported someone climbed the tower on McCoy Avenue, cutting and removing all the copper wiring from the tower and adjacent building.

– An officer sitting stationary at Echo Dell Trailer Park was advised by an unknown man who stopped that loud music was coming from one of the trailers. When officers arrived, they reported smelling marijuana coming from the trailer, where someone opened and then closed the blinds. The man who answered the door said only one other person was inside, but officers said there were actually three others, including Mareese Sanders, 30, Youngstown, who had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody. The report noted Sanders has a long criminal record involving drugs and violent felony charges, as does another Youngstown man found inside the trailer, who had no outstanding warrants. The other man was from New Castle, Pa. and also had no warrants.

Salem

– Louis L. Huyghe, 1781 Ridgewood Drive, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device after she struck a vehicle driven by Benjamin A. Ratney, 87 E. North Ave., North Lima, at the intersection of Southeast Boulevard and Pershing at 5:22 p.m. Saturday. Ratney had been westbound on Pershing.

– At 11:21 p.m. Saturday, police received a complaint from two brothers in the 400 block of South Ellsworth regarding an ongoing dispute that became heated. One said the other threatened him and destroyed his television. Police explained domestic violence laws and for them to stay away from each other.

– Police responded to the 700 block of Summit Street at 8:57 p.m. Saturday to relay a message for them to contact the Streetsboro Police Department.

– At 8:44 p.m. Saturday, police spoke with a social worker from the SRMC regarding a ward of the state was attempting to get transported to a state hospital in Columbus. She had been declined by all local ambulance services and had exhausted the options. An officer contacted a hot line to see if Adult Protective Services could assist. The contact number was provided for the social worker.

– At 8:03 p.m. Saturday, police responded to West State and Sharp Avenue where a man bike was stolen from a garage overnight by someone who was currently riding it down the street. The bike rider said a family member was letting him borrow it and didn’t know it was stolen. He gave the bike to police and was given a ride to a location in the city. The owner didn’t want to press charges.

– At 7:36 p.m. Saturday, police made a well-being check in the 900 block of New Garden. Everything was OK.

– At 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Nicholas P. Crookston, 1356 Elberon St., turned himself in on a warrant for failure to appear.

– Police responded to a city residence at 5:35 p.m. Saturday for a possible sexual abuse case of a boy who said he resided with his father and two younger sisters but stayed with his grandmother for a while. He said the father was texting him asking for sexual favors. The two sisters were still with the father. The grandmother was concerned for their safety. At 9:09 p.m. police responded to the residence to assist Children Services in the removal of the children and to place them in their grandmother’s custody.

– Police responded to the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 4:44 p.m. Saturday for a possible intoxicated driver in a black SUV on South Lundy and the vehicle was gone when police arrived

– At 4:36 p.m. Saturday, police made a well-being check in the 200 block of North Broadway. No one answered the door and there was no vehicle in the garage.

– Police received an anonymous complaint at 3:38 p.m. Saturday about a red Jeep with temporary tags that pulled into an access drive in the 900 block of South Ellsworth Avenue and onto private property where the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, got out of the vehicle claiming to be a police officer and threatened the man with a beer bottle.

– At 2:20 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the Eastgate Plaza entrance for a three-vehicle chain reaction accident. One driver didn’t have a foot on the brake and rolled into a vehicle ahead that in turn struck the rear of a third vehicle. The vehicles received minor damage.

– At 8:44 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln for an unresponsive woman and learned she had died. The coroner’s investigator said she died of natural causes or a self-inflicted overdose. The next of kin were notified.

– At 11:40 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1500 block of East State and took a person who fell while walking. The person was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

– Police responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 12:15 p.m. Saturday where the complainant advised a man called and said he needed to pay his electric bill or it would be shut off. The caller left no name and an officer advised it was a scam and tried calling the number that was busy during numerous attempts.

– Police responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln at 11:01 a.m. Saturday for a civil matter involving a problem over a double stroller.

Lisbon

– The department received a report Saturday afternoon of a cat stuck in a storm drain on North Beaver Street behind the old county jail. The fire department was toned out, and firefighters were able to retrieve the stuck feline.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Barb from Elder Ag & Turf, state Route 14, Unity Township, reported Thursday a John Deere zero-turn mower was stolen over the weekend from where it had been on display near the road.

– Deputies were called to Spillway Road, Guilford Lake, at 11:28 p.m. Thursday in regard to a woman acting in a violent and threatening manner toward family and friends while talking about the apocalypse and similar topics. The woman was uncooperative and had to be restrained to the gurney while being transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

Highway Patrol

– William West, 18, Bayard Road, Homeworth, was eastbound on Main Street in Knox Township at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday and went through a stop sign and struck Luann Byers, 59, Georgetown Road, Homeworth, who was southbound on Middle Avenue. West was cited for stop sign.

– Alma M. Smith, 60, Teegarden Road, Lisbon, and Brandon Michael James Grubb, 19, Laughlin Road, Lisbon, were northbound on Depot Road in Salem Township at 11:50 a.m. Monday and Smith stopped for a deer and was struck from behind by Grubb. Grubb was cited for assured clear distance and taken to the Salem Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and Smith was also taken there with non-life-threatening injuries.

– While southbound on state Route 267 in Liverpool Township, a trooper reported seeing a vehicle with one working headlight and stopped it. The driver, Terry L. Harpold, 19, Maple Drive, East Liverpool, was nervous and had shaky hands, according to reports, which also indicated the vehicle smelled of raw marijuana. When asked when he last had marijuana in the vehicle, Harpold said never but that his passenger, Steven E. Slagle, 26, West Ninth Street, had smelled of marijuana when he entered the vehicle. Slagle reportedly told the trooper he had smoked marijuana earlier due to being stressed because his mother is hospitalized. Slagle had a grinder, pipe and green residue in his pocket, and a second grinder and green plant residue was found in the glove compartment, according to reports. Both men were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lisbon

– A clerk at Smith Oil reported at 6:31 a.m. June 3 they have the video ready of a man suspected of shoplifting there.

– Police were called to Smith Oil at 1:36 p.m. Tuesday about a woman suspected of shoplifting candy and she came back after being banned from the premises. Police examined the security video from May 25 and determined there was not enough evidence to charge her.

– Smith Oil called June 4 to say it had a security video to turn over showing a woman stealing a purse from the store the day before.

Columbiana

-Melissa Gray, South West Street, reported at 9:35 a.m. Thursday the window to her home was shot by a BB gun sometime during the night.

-Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday police received several complaints of a horse wandering around the area of Old Saybrook. The horse was eventually found and given back to its owner.

-A woman reported at 4:11 p.m. Thursday there was a possible crash on East Park Avenue and it appeared a vehicle struck a pole in the area of the traffic circle. Police checked and found a mirror but no structural damage to the pole.

-Sidney A. Macklin, 25, Union Street, Columbiana, was westbound on West Park Avenue at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday and stopped at the North Vine Street intersection when Michael J. Butream, 45, state Route 172, Lisbon, stopped behind Macklin in traffic and was struck from behind by Richard Williams Jr., 65, Crestview Road, Leetonia. The impact cause Butream to move forward into Macklin’s vehicle. Williams was cited for assured clear distance. No injuries were reported.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded twice Thursday night to a Pennsylvania Avenue residence in response to Tyler M. Fickle, 22, of that address, reportedly causing problems. The second time, at 10:36 p.m., officers reported Fickle had punched out a window in the house and was bleeding profusely. He failed to respond to their commands and officers had to use a Taser on him. Lifeteam paramedics transported Fickle to the hospital for his cuts, and he was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication and resisting arrest.

Liverpool Township

– A witness reported a man who seemed impaired walking with a gas can. Officers spoke with Jack Herron Jr., 45, Oak Street, Chester, W.Va., who said he ran out of gas and walked to his friend’s house for assistance. Officers reported finding an open beer in his vehicle and Herron reportedly admitted having drunk four beers. He was charged with physical control and open container in a motor vehicle.

East Palestine

– A North Market Street resident reported at 10:42 a.m. Wednesday a truck with several women and a child were stopping and knocking on several of her neighbor’s doors, and she was concerned the group was intending to break into a home. Police spoke to one of the neighbors who said they believed the group was passing out religious pamphlets.

– Renee Mick, North Walnut Street, reported at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday her adult son took her car sometime during the night and did not return it. She told police that he may have thought he was allowed to take the vehicle since she had given him permission in the past. Police spoke with the man and told him to return the vehicle.

– Police went to a West North Avenue home at 9:40 a.m. June 10 for a report that the elderly resident was receiving unwanted telephone calls. Police listened to the messages and told the woman the calls were a scam and that she was anot going to be sued by the IRS. Police warned the woman to ignore the calls and also not give out any personal information over the telephone.

– Cindy Dowd, address not listed, reported at 9:43 a.m. June 10 her elderly mother, address not listed, was receiving harassing phone calls.

– A man reported at 10 p.m. Tuesday kids were trying to open business doors and climbing into trash cans and the light poles on North Market. Police checked but the kids were no longer there.

– Police went to a Garfield Avenue home at 5 a.m. Friday for a report of a domestic. Upon arrival it was found that a husband and wife were in a verbal argument and no charges were filed.

– Police warned two girls for being in the park after hours at 12:59 a.m. Friday.

– Peggy Garver, address not listed, reported at 8:29 p.m. Thursday an elderly man needed help getting his truck started in the Sparkle parking lot and requested police help him. Police checked and found the man was able to start the vehicle.

– Rube Ginder, address not listed, reported at 11:49 a.m. Friday someone mowed grass at an East Clark Street home and blew grass all over East Clark Street and then left. Police found the people mowing had every intention of being there for a while and planned to clean up the road once they were done.

County Sheriff

-Tom Carpenter of Dover reportedly backed into a vehicle belonging to Carole Dalesandro of Beloit in the parking lot of the BP station in Knox Township at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday.

-A woman on Taylor Road, Negley, called at 3:41 p.m. Wednesday because her 12-year-old son, who has anger issues, is suspected of breaking the screen on his brother’s tablet, removing a chain from another sibling’s bicycle and breaking a side window on the family 12-passenger van. The deputy spoke to the youth, who said the only thing he broke was the van window while playing basketball. The youth is already in a diversion program through county juvenile court, and the woman’s husband intends to file charges with the court.

Lisbon

– An officer backed up a county sheriff’s deputy at 7843 state Route 45 at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday.

-Police were called to a dispute on McKinley Avenue at 4:19 p.m. Tuesday and determined that Thomas R. Entrikin threatened to shoot people from Monarch Vehicle Recovery Services. When officers tried to arrest Entrikin, he attempted to flee but was caught. Entrikin then threw his phone at Sgt. Shar Daub, striking her in the leg, at which point he was shot with a taser and taken into custody. He was charged with aggravated menacing, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

– Pamela S. Davis, 46, Forbes Road, Wellsville, was stopped in traffic on North Park Avenue at 1:04 p.m. Tuesday when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Ellsworth E. Bowser, 67, Goshen Road, Salem, who was backing up at the time.

Columbiana

– At 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, a solicitor’s permit was issued to Richard Murphy, Launch Local, to sell Pittsburgh Pirates tickets.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Sunday to Minerva Street where a bicyclist was reported to have been struck by a vehicle. They found Michael Lasure, no age or address listed, lying on the ground next to his bicycle. Witnesses reported he was riding south on Minerva when he passed a pizza delivery vehicle which was parked the wrong way on the wrong side of the street. As Lasure passed, the vehicle pulled from the curb, and his bicycle struck the side. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. No citations were issued.

– Thomas Bennett, Smithfield Street, reported a person known to him took a lawnmower and weedeater from his father’s porch. Officers went to the suspect’s home but made no contact.

– Ashly Thrasher, Burford Street, reported returning home from jail and finding the house trashed. Officers reported they had been at the house the previous week and, although it was a mess, it was not in its current condition. She offered the name of a person possibly responsible and was advised to see the law director about filing charges.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded Tuesday night to the Echo Dell Mobile Home Park for a woman possibly deceased from an overdose. An officer reported she was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, mouth open, with the appearance of being dead, with her shorts and underwear pulled down to her knees. When he reached to take her pulse, however, the woman abruptly sat straight up and asked what was going on. Asked for identification, the woman provided a driver’s license and said she had been at her aunt’s home in East Liverpool and got tired of her being intoxicated so decided to drive to her cousin’s home in the trailer park. There, the woman found her cousin asleep so decided to sleep in her car rather than drive home to Youngstown. She denied being under the influence, saying the only bad thing she does in smoke weed and that she was just sleepy. Her cousin, however, told officers the woman has a heroin problem and needs help before she “ends up dead.” Lifeteam ambulance responded, but the woman declined treatment. No drugs or paraphernalia were found in the vehicle, and officers cleared the scene.

– Amy A. Smith, Milton Street, reported a theft at her residence Tuesday.

– Third Street residents Sandy and Scott Simmons complained about hearing gunshots in the woods across the street from their home, with a couple rounds going past their house, nearly striking them. Officers spoke to a Cornell Street resident, who said he had been target shooting behind his house as he has for years without a problem. Officers determined he had a sufficient backstop, and the man agreed to make sure he was only shooting toward it.

Wellsville

– Police were called around 2:25 a.m. April 15 to a Danbury Avenue residence regarding a disturbance between Krista Medeiros and Dashaun Coles. Police noted they have a child together.

– Police were advised by sheriff’s dispatch that around 7:28 p.m. June 8 a 911 hang up was received from a Broadway residence. Officers arrived found Ruth Bryarley outside the home crying. She told officers her son, Thomas V. Bryarley Jr., became upset after he returned home and dinner was not ready, so he threw the television remote at the set. Mrs. Bryarley said she initially called 911 but hung up, which caused her son to become angry, grab her by the throat and choke her before leaving the home. Officers observed a red mark on the right side of her neck. Domestic violence charges were filled.

– Pastor Kenny Malone of Methodist Church, Main Street, reported Saturday the front glass door was broken sometime in the last week.

– Tiffany Franklin, Moore Street, East Liverpool, reported at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday she was staying at Independence Square during the weekend and said she saw her food stamp card in her wallet inside a diaper bag before she left on Sunday, but the card is now missing. She was advised to contact her case worker to see if a stop could be placed on the card and a new one issued to her.

Perry Township

– Police responded at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday to a report of solicitors in the 1200 block of Elberon Avenue. Officers made contact with a person who works for the company “Erie” out of Akron and told the solicitor about the ordinance regarding no solicitation in the township. The person left the area.

– A male who was cutting grass in the 1500 block of Depot Road Wednesday morning was injured after running over his right foot with the push mower and amputating multiple digits from his right foot. Police, KLG Ambulance and the Perry Township Fire Department all responded after getting a call from Salem Police at 10:03 a.m. Wednesday regarding a medical. KLG transported the injured person to Salem Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 5:07 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Egypt Road and East Pine Lake Road, parked at the bridge. The vehicle was not found.

– An unwanted person was requested removed from a residence in the 1800 block of Goshen Road at 11:38 p.m. Tuesday. An officer spoke with all parties involved and the person was removed.

Salem

– A resident in the 1900 block of Pearce Circle called at 10:58 p.m. Wednesday to report a suspicious person. She said they heard someone knock on their front door and by the time someone opened the front door, the person was gone. Police checked the area but didn’t find any suspicious person.

– Police responded at 9:19 p.m. Wednesday to East Fourth Street and North Lundy Avenue for a possible intoxicated male. The caller said the male appeared intoxicated and possibly had an open container of alcohol. Police located the male but there was no open container. He was limping due to a minor injury to his foot. He declined medical attention.

– Police were called to the area of Salem Regional Medical Center, 1995 E. State St., at 9:01 p.m. Wednesday to check the well-being of a female who was a patient at the hospital but left before finishing treatment. Hospital personnel wanted her checked on due to possible intoxication. She was located nearby and a friend was called to pick her up.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday that a male pumped $36 worth of gas before leaving without paying.

– An officer at 8:19 p.m. Wednesday spoke to a man from the 700 block of South Union Avenue at the station regarding a menacing and threats report. The issue was found to be civil.

– A Salem man reported at 8:09 p.m. Wednesday that he lost a blue drawstring bag on Saturday in the 900 block of East State Street. An officer checked the property at the station and located the bag which contained the man’s identification. The bag was returned to the owner.

– A girl came reported at 7:52 p.m. Wednesday a phone stolen from her bag while she was at Fun Factory, 520 E. Pershing St. The phone was locked.

– Police responded at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday to Walmart, 2875 E. State St., for a recovered property report, but upon arrival, the caller had already left.

– Police were called at 5:34 p.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of East Third Street to check the well-being of a resident. A caller advised attempting numerous times to contact the person but was unable to make contact with the female the past several days. Officers arrived and were unable to make contact initially. A family member arrived on scene and was able to make entry. Officers were able to make contact with the person, who was upstairs laying in bed and appeared to be heavily intoxicated. The person was taken to SRMC.

– Police responded at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday to Walmart for a report of solicitors. A man was asking for money. He was advised of the city ordinance for soliciting and given a final verbal warning before he left.

– A man from Cliff Drive came to the police station at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday to report a possible scam involving a caller who left a recorded message advising a federal suit had been filed and an arrest warrant was going to be issued if he did not call back immediately and arrange to send money. He was advised to file a report with Perry Township Police.

– Loss prevention personnel at Walmart on East State Street reported a shoplifting incident at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday. Two males attempted to take two cell phone cases and two screen protectors.

– A spokesman for Stadium Chevrolet, 292 W. State St., reported a bad check at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday. On May 4, a male wrote a check to the auto body shop for some work and the check came back for non-sufficient funds from the bank.

Goshen

– A Benton Road resident reported someone had made a fake Snap Chat page using her name at 12:29 p.m. June 1.

– An officer responded to a criminal damaging report in the 7000 block of Calla Road at 9:57 p.m. June 2.

– An officer responded to burglary report in the 15000 block of Garfield Road at 9:44 a.m. June 3.

– An officer responded to a theft report in the 10000 block of Washingtonville Road at 1:24 p.m. June 5.

– An officer responded to a Garfield Road home at 10 p.m. June 5 in reference to a telephone harassment complaint. The officer spoke to both people involved and they agreed not to contact each other.

– An officer responded with Damascus Fire Department to a Malmsberry Road home at 10:57 p.m. June 11 in reference to a woman who had fallen down steps and needed stitches. The woman was transported to the Salem hospital for treatment.

– An officer responded to a 12000 block West Calla Road at 12:50 a.m. Sunday in reference to a woman having a seizure. The woman was found awake and coherent, and she refused treatment from Damascus Fire Department.

– An officer responded to the area of Cool and Middletown roads at 5:20 a.m. Sunday in reference to a driver who appeared to be lost. The driver was found to have early stages of dementia and could not find his way home. His wife was contacted to pick him up.

– An officer responded to the 12000 block of U.S. Route 62 at 10:55 a.m. Sunday in reference to a dog in the middle of the roadway causing a traffic hazard. The dog had been dealt with by the time the officer arrived.

– Deborah L. Marchand, 62, Boardman, was cited for right of way at stop signs following a two-vehicle crash in Green Township at 3:42 p.m. Sunday in which she was westbound on Western Reserve Road and failed to yield, striking a vehicle driven by Geraldine Lombardo, 76, Canfield, who was southbound on U.S. Route 62. Both drivers were treated on scene for possible injuries, but not transported to a hospital.

– A motorist reported at 8:10 p.m. Sunday her vehicle had been struck by an apparent golf ball thrown at the vehicle while she was traveling on state Route 165 near Lisbon Road.

– An officer responded to a 17000 block West Middletown Road home at 2:12 a.m. Monday where the female resident reported a verbal argument with a man of the home in reference to sexual intercourse and she did not want the man at the home any longer. She was advised that she had to have him evicted.

– Officers responded to the 7000 block of Garfield Road at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a young couple allegedly fighting in their car in view of numerous people that then left southbound on Lisbon Road. The officers were unable to find the couple.

– An officer responded to a Stratton Road home at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday where a resident with terminal cancer was threatening suicide. A handgun was located on a mower the resident was driving. The officer secured the weapon and the resident was transported by Damascus Fire Department to the Salem hospital.

– An officer responded to a medical emergency at a 13000 block state Route 14 home at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday and found a woman who was very unsure where she was. Family members were angry they had been waiting more than 15 minutes for an ambulance. The officer cleared the scene when the Damascus Fire Department arrived.

– An officer responded to a report of an open door a U.S. Route 62 business in Damascus at 9:19 p.m. Wednesday. The door was found open with no one inside. The key holder was advised to notify the police if anything is found to be missing.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 7:57 a.m. Monday there were small dogs running on South Main Street near Duquesne. Police checked but did not see the dogs.

– Shannon Quinn, Columbiana-Waterford Road, reported at 12:18 p.m. Monday someone in a red Ford pickup truck stole a yellow Cub Cadet riding mower from their yard and headed toward New Waterford. Police notified the sheriff’s office and also checked for the vehicle but did not find it.

– The Youngstown Help Hotline reported at 1:26 p.m. Monday it received a call of a suicide threat somewhere in the city but did not know who made the threat or where they were. Police found the call originated from Durham, N.C. and contacted that police department.

– Juliann Easter, Youngstown, was exiting the McDonald’s parking lot at 5 p.m. Monday when Byron Bezdek, Lisbon, was backed from a parking spot and struck Easter. No citations were issued.

East Palestine

– The owner of A Plus Amusement LLC, West Taggart Street, reported at 3:44 p.m. Monday someone broke into one of their gaming machines at the laundromat last week.

– Ron Ogg, West Martin Street, reported at 11:23 p.m. Sunday someone on West Martin Street was blowing an air horn. Police told Kevin Clark to stop making noise.

– A man reported at 12:17 a.m. Monday a man in the area of Alice and James streets was running and hitting the stop sign and had done it several times. Police checked but did not find anyone there.

– Raina Hrenko, address not listed, reported at 2:22 p.m. Monday she was assaulted on East Taggart Street. The matter is under investigation.

East Liverpool

– Eugene H. Eastham, 67, Ruth Street, reported he and his roommate, who was not identified in reports, were sitting in the living room Thursday morning when three people dressed in black kicked in the door. All three were armed with what looked like rifles, Eastham told police. They ordered him and his roommate to the floor and ransacked drawer, then went through Eastham’s pockets and finally removed money from his wallet before fleeing.

– Brian Miller, Almont Street, reported his residence entered through a window, with several items taken.

– Arlene Merritt, Ohio Avenue, reported a lawn mower taken.

– Vivian Toler, Walnut Street, reported men she knew broke into her house, looking for drugs or paraphernalia.

– Treva K. Wolfe, Avondale Street, reported at 12:32 p.m. Friday a child wearing a diaper at her door, with no adults in sight. The child’s babysitter called police about two minutes later to report it missing and showed officers where the child escaped the yard and how she fixed the problem.

– Theda Sanders, St. Clair Avenue, reported hiring a contractor, who was paid $250 three months ago and started some work then never completed it and is not answering phone calls.

– Officers found Lacey Ammon walking on St. Clair Avenue and learned she had an outstanding warrant. She gave them a false name and Social Security number and tried to run when told she was being arrested. Officers were able to capture her and take her into custody.

– Postal carrier Joshua R. Sorrell, 33, was bitten by a dog on Ephraim Street. The incident was reported to the city health department.

– Erica Riggle, Lisbon Street, reported finding three transactions on her bank account she had not made.

– Jill Lawrence, Manor Lane, reported her garage entered, with items taken.

– Veronica Adams, 39, St. Clair Avenue, reported being assaulted by a woman she knows, who struck Adams’ head off the concrete until she lost consciousness. Adams was advised to see the law director about filing charges.

Wellsville

– Theodore Fowler was charged with drug paraphernalia after police were called at 7:45 p.m. June 6 for suspicious activity on Lisbon Street near Seventh and Eighth. Fowler was found with a crack pipe.

– Police were called around 8 p.m. Wednesday to a Main Street residence. Kisha Pearson said she was assaulted by three black males in a newer black Cadillac. Pearson, who declined to write out a statement, said she was with Dave Coulter of Broadway. An officer told Pearson the property owner does not want her to return, and trespassing charges would be filed if she returned. Pearson left after refusing to cooperate. Officers asked Coulter about the incident. He said a tall black male with a hoodie assaulted him and was in a black car. Coulter said the man knew Pearson and her boyfriend, but Coulter himself did not know his name.

– Police were called around 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Hammond Park. Britne Thomas said she was watching her son play T-ball when the boy’s father asked if he could take the boy to his parents’ house. When Thomas said no, the man threw a fit, shouting obscenities at her in front of the children and other adults. Officers advised her how to obtain a protection order. The report and statements were faxed to the county prosecutor’s office.

– Kristy L. Steed of East Liverpool was charged after a traffic stop on Lisbon Street around 11 p.m. Saturday. She was cited for the glass pipe used for smoking marijuana, driving under suspension, license plate lights and drug paraphernalia.

– Gregory C. Andrews reported Monday sometime overnight his car was hit by another while parked on Lincoln.

Salem

– The owner of a wallet found on a sidewalk in the 2900 block of East State Street retrieved the item at the police station at 3:26 p.m. Tuesday.

– A caller at 2:32 p.m. Tuesday reported a pickup with a load of hay bales was traveling east on East State Street and the load appeared to be coming loose. Apparently the driver was aware. Police found him pulled off the road resecuring the load.

– A man on Whinnery Road reported Tuesday he’s receiving calls from people claiming to be from Cashnet and demanding he send money to cover a past debt or they will have a warrant issued for his arrest. He was told to ignore the calls.

– A runaway juvenile was reported at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday from the 400 block of South Lincoln where a woman said her daughter was supposed to return home Tuesday after spending the night at a friend’s. She said her daughter was refusing to tell her where she was. A short time later, a female called and said the girl was at her home. She told police she wasn’t aware the girl was supposed to be home and would take her there immediately.

– A possible scam was reported at 10:09 a.m. Tuesday when a woman came to the station regarding an automated recording she received in reference to a tax situation. The officer heard it and told her it’s a scam.

– A handbag was recovered at Giant Eagle, 2401 E. State St., at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday after being accidentally left at the store by the owner. An officer made contact with the owner and arrangements were made for her to pick up her handbag.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Penn Avenue. A woman said the vehicle had been parked behind her business the last couple of days and she was concerned. Officers were unsuccessful in contacting the owner. The woman was told she had the right to have the vehicle towed since it was parked on private property.

– Police were called at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday to McDonald’s, 1892 E. State St., for a case of indecent exposure. Officers located a bicycle parked by the east side doorway and a man came out and was told about the complaint that his butt was visible while riding his bicycle. He wasn’t aware his pants were down. He also reported he lost his flip phone.

– A possible dispute was reported at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Center, 500 E. Fourth St., where a tenant was told about the complaint. The tenant reported arguing with a family member via telephone. They were told to keep the noise down.

– Police responded at 11:34 p.m. Monday to the 2100 block of Quaker Lane for a report of a suspicious light observed outside a window. Officers checked the entire area on foot and did not observe anything out of order.

– An anonymous caller came to the police station at 10:08 p.m. Monday to talk with an officer about residency. The officer explained the eviction process and that a landlord cannot throw out a tenant without following proper procedures for eviction.

– A possible fight/suspicious activity was reported at 8:03 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. Officers were familiar with the person in question, who is a client at a local group home and was experiencing a medical problem. Others involved were workers from the home attempting to help him. Officers stood by until they were able to get the person back into the residence.

– Police were called at 6:45 p.m. Monday to the 400 block of Aetna Street for a report of a person possibly smoking marijuana in an alley, but didn’t find the person.

– A man in the 400 block of East State Street reported at 5:53 p.m. Monday that someone entered his vehicle Sunday between 5 and 8 p.m. and stolen an electronic tablet.

– Police were called at 5:31 p.m. Monday to Aldi’s. Officers spoke with both the suspect and a store employee and determined the man had taken items from the dumpster. Officers told him he was not allowed to remove food that had been thrown away.

-Police responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle at 3:15 p.m. Monday, locating a vehicle unoccupied at the lift station on Painter Road. While checking the area, the driver and a passenger returned to the vehicle and both were identified. The passenger, Michael Lowery, 32, of Girard, was taken into custody on an active warrant for receiving stolen property issued by Niles police

– Officers placed a 48-hour notice on a car parked in the 600 block of Continental at 11:28 a.m. Monday. It had been there about three week.

– A man in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:16 p.m. Monday that an unknown person had been knocking on his door at all hours. He believed it may be someone who’s not allowed on the property.

– Police were called at 10:15 a.m. Monday for a parking complaint regarding a box truck at South Union Avenue and Ridgewood. The vehicle was legally parked and not a traffic hazard.

– A man in the 100 block of South Broadway reported Monday an employee at his business received a threatening email.

Highway Patrol

– George A. Ritter, 57, Lake Street, Beloit, was riding a motorcycle northbound on Westville Lake Road in Knox Township at 12:38 p.m. Friday when Carlene E. Jones, 69, Kinsman, pulled from a stop sign westbound on Buck Road and was struck in the side by Ritter. Ritter was flown by Metro Life Flight to Akron City Hospital, while his passenger, Claudette D. Ritter, 62, Lake Street, Beloit, was taken by Beloit Rescue to Aultman Hospital, both with serious injuries. Jones was cited with failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

County Sheriff

-Tom Wilcox, state Route 170, Negley, reported a loud party in the area, but deputies found no party when they arrived.

Columbiana

– Police found an open door at Columbiana Tire, Sponseller Road, while on patrol at 12:37 a.m. Saturday.

– Multiple people reported a blue SUV with a couple arguing inside at 12:15 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle kept stopping in the roadway while the couple yelled at each other. Police checked the area, but did not find any vehicles matching the description.

– A man reported someone seemed to be sleeping in a little blue SUV at the entrance of the Columbiana Manor Apartments at 2:18 p.m. Saturday. An ambulance was called to the apartments about 20 minutes later.

– Police received a letter on Saturday from the Department of Jobs and Family Services regarding a case of child abuse. The residence is outside the city and there was no indication the abuse was happening inside the city. The letter was forwarded by fax to the property jurisdictional agency.

– Police assisted Leetonia police at 6:28 p.m. Saturday at a call they had on High Street.

– Crista Clark, East Park Avenue, reported a theft at 7:08 p.m. Saturday.

Salem

– An officer responded to the area of Butcher Road and East Pershing Street at 3:17 p.m. Friday where a complainant reported two men sitting in a vehicle at the dead end cul-de-sac and she feared for the safety of a juvenile female walking in that direction. The officer was unable to find the vehicle or the girl.

– Officers responded to an East Third Street home at 9:30 p.m. Friday in reference to a domestic dispute and determined it to be a verbal argument.

– A patrolling officer was stopped in the 600 block of East State Street at 10:17 p.m. Friday by a motorist who said he saw someone attempting to enter several vehicles in a nearby parking lot. The officer was unable to anyone in the parking lot or those in the surrounding area, but another officer spoke with a group of people in the 100 block of South Alley before letting them go.

– Robert J. Kastanek, 31, 317 N. Madison Ave., Salem, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after officers responded to his home at 11:25 p.m. Friday in reference to a domestic dispute in which he would not let a woman leave and he possibly had a razor blade. The woman said no violence occurred. First responders and an ambulance responded to the police station during processing after Kastanek complained of a shoulder injury and he was transported to the hospital for treatment.

– Tracy L. Beiling, 47, 674 Washington Ave., Salem, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, traveling left of center and no seatbelt after a traffic stop on West Wilson Street near the railroad tracks at 12:01 a.m. Saturday when an officer observed her driving extremely erratically.

– An officer responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 12:20 a.m. Saturday where a complainant reported his friend had received a telephone call from an unknown man claiming to be a wildlife officer using foul language and threatening to arrest him. They were advised it was probably a crank call.

– An officer responded to a report of debris in the roadway in the the 600 block of East Pershing Street at 3:04 a.m. Saturday and found a damaged tent in the eastbound lane as well as a plastic fence that had been knocked over. The damage appeared to have been intentional.

– An officer responded to the 400 block of Aetna Street at 10:12 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported a trash company had damaged his personal container while picking up the trash and that he believed it to be intentional due to his past complaints.

– An officer responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 10:56 a.m. Saturday to check on a man on the ground and found that he had fallen while leaning against newspaper vending machines. First responders and an ambulance arrived and eventually transported the man to the hospital.

– Officers responded to a 400 block East Third Street at 11:51 a.m. Saturday and found that a door had been forced open. No one was found inside and the door was secured.

– Police responded to the 600 block of Cedar Street at 6:18 p.m. Saturday in reference to individuals trespassing in the back yard and found four juveniles who were warned of the complaint and possible consequences.

– A patrolling officer observed a man suffering a medical issue in the 1000 block of East Pershing Street at 6:34 p.m. Saturday. An ambulance responded and transported him to the hospital with heat related issues.

– An officer responded to the area of East State Street and North Union Avenue at 9:49 p.m. Saturday in reference to several individuals standing in the back of a moving pick up truck. The officer stopped the vehicle and warned all in the vehicle of the violation.

– Tyler W. Smith, 18, East Liverpool, was charged with expired registration and fictitious plates following a traffic stop at East State Street and North Ellsworth Avenue for multiple violations throughout the night at 10:55 p.m. Saturday.

– An officer responded to a parking lot in the 2800 block of East State Street at 12:47 a.m. Sunday in reference to a truck and motorcycle peeling tires. The officer found the drivers and warned them of the complaint.

– An officer responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Sixth Street at 1:20 a.m. Sunday in reference to a suspicious person and found that he was waiting for a ride home.

– An officer spoke with a man at 1:40 a.m. Sunday who said that he was leaving a South Broadway Avenue bar that night when another person came out and punched the hood of his truck, creating a dent, and that he wished to press charges.

– Officers responded to the 200 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 6:17 a.m. Sunday in reference to an intoxicated driver sleeping in his vehicle with a child. Officers found the driver and two adult women who said they were waiting for a friend at a house across the street. None of them had been drinking alcohol.

– Police responded to a South Lincoln Avenue home at 10:23 a.m. Sunday to check on a man whose mother said she could not contact him. Officers were also unable to contact the man at the home.

– A Columbiana resident reported at 11 a.m. Sunday that she requested cash back at a self check out lane at a 2800 block East State Street business and forgot to take it, then found upon her return that someone else had taken it.

– Officers responded to the area of Oak Street and Fair Avenue at 11:19 a.m. Sunday in reference to a man riding a bicycle near Centennial Park wearing no pants or pants so low that at least two people complained to police. The officers were unable to find the man.

– Ralph Morris, 67, Salem, was cited for failure to control at 12:05 p.m. Sunday after attempting to turn around in the 300 block of Park Avenue when he drove over a fire hydrant and become stuck.

– Police responded to an 800 block East State Street business at 2:30 p.m. Sunday where a man had reportedly entered the private club and acted suspiciously. The man left before officers arrived.

– An officer responded to the Stone Castle Trail area at 3:59 p.m. Sunday in reference to juveniles peeling tires and possibly drinking, but was unable to find anyone.

Salem

– The fire department responded to a burning complaint in the 700 block of Jennings Avenue at 2:58 p.m. Saturday and found a smoldering fire. The fire was extinguished and the resident warned about open burning laws.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Ed Hough, Church Hill Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:09 a.m. Thursday his estranged wife, Vicki Hough contacted him and told him she was coming to the house, which would be in violation of the protection order he has against her. She was charged with violating a temporary protection order.

– An ambulance was called to the intersection of state Routes 7 and 154 at 3:29 p.m., June 3. A white bus was parked there and a woman inside was reportedly having a panic attack. Deputies found the woman very withdrawn and she said she wanted to go to a hospital to be checked out. Negley EMS transported her to Mercy Health in Boardman.

Highway Patrol

– Damin Michael Hall, 23, Center Street, East Liverpool, was northwest on East Liverpool Road in Madison Township at 2:45 p.m. Sunday and slid off the right side into a guardrail face. He was cited for failure to control and taken to the East Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Josaiah L. Mays, 45, Alliance, was westbound on Starling Road in West Township at 5:40 p.m. May 30 and overturned his motorcycle while applying the brakes at the crest of the hill. Mays was ejected from the motorcycle and taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No citations were issued.

– Shawn M. Lonkert, 36, Lincoln Avenue, East Palestine, was southbound on state Route 170 in Unity Township at 5:55 p.m. Monday and stopped at a road closed sign and then began backing up and backed into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control and OVI.

– Kelly N. Bush, 40, Grove Street, Wintersville, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 7:45 a.m. June 3 and hit a deer.

– Alexandra Rose Graves, 16, Jimtown Road, East Palestine, was turning left onto Hamilton Road in Unity Township at 9:57 p.m. Tuesday and went off the right side into a fence and a gate. She was cited for failure to control.

– Gwen E. Swiger, 40, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, and Arthur C. Ignatz, 53, Sharon, Pa., were northbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday and Ignatz had a tire blow out and the debris struck Swiger’s vehicle. No citations were issued.

– Paul L. Talbott III, 30, Hammond School Road, Wellsville, was southbound on Crews Road in Madison Township at 7:20 p.m. Sunday and Joshua A. Davis, 34, Steubenville-Pike, Hammondsville, was northbound and Talbott struck Davis in the curve, causing Davis to go off the right side into a ditch. Davis’ passenger, Holly J. Davis, 35, Steubenville-Pike, Hammondsville, was taken to the East Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No citations were issued.

– Latavia Marie Choate, 17, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 10:20 p.m. Monday and went off the right side into a guy wire. She was cited for failure to control.

– Ariel Lynn Durham, 27, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was northbound on Depot Road in Butler Township at 8:48 p.m. May 30 and went left of center, then off the right side into an embankment and a tree and then continued on and struck a guardrail and another tree and overturned. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Possible citations are pending as the crash remains under investigation.

– Matthew C. Ferko, 24, Wallace Avenue, East Palestine, and Kelly L. Bees, 35, Youngstown, were northbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 9:33 p.m. Saturday and Bees struck Ferko as he was attempting to turn left into a private drive. Bees was cited for improper passing.

Columbiana

– Boardman police requested at 3 p.m. Wednesday city police be on the lookout for a vehicle involved in a hit/skip that was reportedly at a home on Hawkins Lane. Police checked and advised the department the vehicle was there.

– Cynthia Dean, Union Street, reported at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday her garage window was broken sometime in the past week.

– Johna Hess, Sycamore Drive, New Waterford, reported at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday someone hit her car while it was parked in the Rite Aid parking lot.

– A woman reported at 5:29 p.m. Wednesday there was pipe sticking up from the road on Pittsburgh Street. Police checked and notified the water department of the problem.

– Brenda Cutler of Columbiana requested at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday police check on her 25-year-old nephew who was walking around town after they were unable to reach him on the phone.

Lisbon

– Barbra Altomore, West Washington Street, reported at 7:30 p.m. May 30 a table was taken from her garage.

– An anonymous caller reported at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday there were suspicious people at a home on Graham Street. Police checked and found the people were there doing work for the resident. Police also spoke with the resident, who confirmed they were allowed to be there.

– Police checked on a report of a fight at Shenanigan’s Pub on South Jefferson Street at 12:46 a.m. Sunday. Police spoke with two women who denied being involved in a fight.

– A Dollar General employee reported at 10:41 p.m. Tuesday a woman was lying in the grass between the store and Rose Drive and was not moving and had a case of beer. Police spoke with the woman and could see she was not intoxicated and that she was not carrying a case of beer, but was carrying a case with a beer logo on it. The woman was then transported to her apartment at Apple Grove.

– Candace Cleland, address not listed, reported at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday she had hired a man to do work for the Trinity Play House on East Lincoln Way and after he left she discovered they were missing a Makita chop saw that was purchased for $500. Police attempted to contact the man about the theft, but were not able to reach him.

– Darren McDole, address not listed, reported at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday a woman he knows tried to contact him on Facebook and he currently has a case in court that he is not allowed to have any contact with her. Police told McDole to block her and not respond.

– Police were called to 140 Morris St. at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report that someone was shooting a BB gun at squirrels. Police spoke with a man there who admitted to shooting the gun and said he would stop.

– Police were called to 373 E. Chestnut St. at 8 p.m. Tuesday for a report of neighbors arguing and attempting to start a fight. Police separated the men and they agreed to leave one another alone for the evening.

– Danny J. Brandle, 45, Clarkson Road, Rogers, had parked a car at a meter on South Market Street at 3:58 p.m. Monday when it was struck by James A. McKahan Jr., 37, Artistic Drive, East Liverpool. McKahan was cited for failure to control.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded to Green Lane for a disturbance and found Tonya Neville and Douglas Pridemore, 46, with Neville crying and saying she was fearful for her life. Neville told officers that she and Pridemore had been arguing all day over him wanting money to buy crack cocaine when he grabbed her by the hair, putting a knife to her throat and punching her in the face. She said he threw the knife when he saw headlights approaching and said he threatened to have “his boy” from Cleveland kill her. Pridemore was charged with domestic violence.

– Responding to a disturbance call, officers saw Justin S. Schneider, 25, Dunn Road, walking on East Ninth Street and found he had active warrants. While he was being patted down, officers reported finding a crack smoking pipe in Schneider’s pocket. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

St. Clair Township

– While westbound on Y&O Road, Justin T. Hannum, 39, Willow Drive, Wellsville, reportedly swerved to miss a deer. His vehicle struck a ditch and spun around until it was heading in the opposite direction. He was cited for failure to control. No injuries were reported.

Wellsville

– Pat Reedy and Mary Jane Frontone, Riverside Avenue, reported at 5 p.m. May 25 that Reedy was walking her dog, Max, down the sidewalk on Main Street when a pitbull/lab mix attacked Max. As Reedy tried to separate them, Max slipped his collar and ran home, and the owner of the pitbull/lab mix came out and got the dog. Max, was treated by Sunny Ridge Vet Clinic for five bite marks on his neck and back area. The owner of the pitbull/lab mix, Amanda Drysdale and L.J. McKenzie of Main Street, stated that they rescued it from the pound and had it for two weeks. Frontone and Reedy said they wanted something done with the dog so that it can’t hurt another human or animal. A check was present by an officer to Frontone, made out by Drysdale, to cover the vet bill. Both parties were advised that the problem would be forwarded to the county dog catcher.

– Camilia Kerbow, 10th Street, reported at 2:48 p.m. May 31 that her green/black push lawn mower was taken sometime Sunday evening. Kerbow said that the mower had a rusted wire on it that held the grass blower. She did not have documentation with a serial number or manufacturer’s name on it, and believed Robert Wright took it. Kerbow was advised that police would keep an eye out for the mower, but that it would be hard to track without appropriate paperwork.

Goshen Police District

– An officer responded to an Oakwood Drive, Beloit, home at 10 p.m. June 5 where the resident reported her daughter’s boyfriend had sent her a text that appeared to state he was going to harm himself. The officer responded with Beloit first responders to the man’s home where he said the text had been taken out of context.

County Sheriff

– Deputies were called to Lake Street, Beloit, at 8:45 p.m. Monday to assist firefighters with a woman, who was reportedly cutting herself. The fire department and EMS had the situation under control and she agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation.

– Dean Moore, Buffalo Road, East Rochester, reported at 8:21 p.m. Friday he had $340 taken from his home. He noticed the money missing after a woman he knows was there.

– Bailey Booher, Youngstown, reported at 9:52 p.m. Sunday he was driving eastbound on state Route 154 near the Lock 24 and struck a dog in the road. Booher went to talk to the neighbors in the area to find the owner, who was highly upset. Deputies arrived and things were calm.

– Lucas Buckel, Washington Street, Leetonia, reported at 7:05 p.m. Sunday someone cut all four of his tires to his silver 2002 Jeep Liberty, which was parked at an address on Furnace Road in Center Township.

– Raymond Leonard, Kirk Road, Columbiana, called New Waterford EMS to his home and the EMS contacted deputies at 5:40 p.m. Sunday after determining there was no medical emergency at the house. Leonard reportedly did not want his 12-year-old daughter there. Deputies and EMS left, but Leonard then called another ambulance company. Deputies located the girl’s mother and followed her to the father’s house to pick up the girl. However, the other ambulance company transported the girl and the father to the hospital.

– Linda Erhard-Naczas, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, reported Monday sometime overnight someone threw a rock through the back window of her 2009 Jeep Liberty, which was parked along the road.

– Jean Cyders Stickler, Homeworth Road, Homeworth, reported Monday someone stole her zero turn mower and trailer from her driveway between June 2 and Saturday. Her son noticed them missing when he came to pick them up on Saturday.

– Barbara Alexander, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, reported at 3:49 p.m. Monday someone struck the rear hatch of her black 2014 Chrysler Town and Country and broke out the rear passenger window. One of her neighbors heard what sounded like a crash at about 11 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle had been parked in the upper portion of her driveway.

Highway Patrol

– Jackie D. Jones, 35, Mountz Road, East Rochester, was northeastbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 6 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch. Jones was cited for failure to control.

– Jeannette L. Philo, 42, Mantle Road, East Rochester, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in West Township at 9:47 p.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

Lisbon

– A caller reported Glenn Libert and some juveniles were creating a lot of noise on East Chestnut Street at 1:44 a.m. Saturday. The youths admitted they were outside playing loudly but agreed to move things inside and keep the noise down.

– Police were asked by the county sheriff’s office to look for a vehicle at Shenanigan’s Pub at 1:47 a.m. Sunday and it involved a case under investigation. Police located the vehicle in the parking lot and remained until a sheriff’s deputy arrived.

-Joshua Lathrop, West Lincoln Way, reported a motorist backed into his car while parked at Shenanigan’s Pub at 2 a.m. Sunday. Police reviewed the security tape to look for the license plate number.

– A Mrs. Gilkinson, East Liverpool Road, East Liverpool, reported her parked vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Patricia Stewart in the Vista Center parking lot at 1:39 p.m. Sunday, damaging the rear brake light. Stewart went into the Vista Center to advise Mrs. Gilkinson what she had done.

Columbiana

– C. Glenn Walters, 48, New Middletown, was charged with domestic violence at 10:23 a.m. Monday for allegedly assaulting his father, Larry Walters, 77, Petersburg, while at the 7&14 Truck Stop.

– A man reported at 11:31 a.m. Monday a suspicious gray van was parked in the area of East Metz Road. Police found the vehicle was disabled and the owner was going to come back for it at a later time. Police checked back around 1 p.m. and the vehicle was gone.

– At 1:10 p.m. Monday a woman reported a possible underage drinking party was being planned at a house on Parkview Drive later this week. Police spoke with the child’s parents and found that it was a rumor started by other kids.

– Megan A. Demaiolo, 21, Kent, reported at 1:33 p.m. Monday the vehicle she was driving and had parked in the Prima Health Care lot had been struck by another vehicle, causing damage.

– Beaver Township police reported at 4:41 p.m. Monday they received a complaint of a reckless driver coming into the city from the township. Police stopped the vehicle and warned the driver, Makayla Dickens, Columbiana, of the complaints.

East Palestine

– The highway patrol requested assistance with a single-car crash on state Route 170 just outside village limits at 6 p.m. Monday.

– Bob Kotas, Alice Street, reported at 5:18 p.m. Monday he found a dog running at large. The dog’s owner picked it up.

– Ron Ogg Jr., West Martin Street, reported at 10:57 p.m. Monday a neighbor was blowing an air horn. Police checked the area but did not hear any noise.

Salem

– Police were called at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday to the parking lot of Salem High School for a private property accident. A vehicle owned by Salem City Schools driven by Ward Bryan was backing out of a parking space and struck the left rear quarter panel of a parked vehicle owned by Joseph Simpson of South Lincoln Avenue. Both drivers were provided the report number to forward to their insurance companies.

– An alarm was reported at 8:21 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East State Street. The doors were secure.

– Michael Hudock, of Stadium Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, 292 W. State St., reported at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday that a known male has been coming to the business using vulgar language towards employees and made threats toward one of the managers. He was told to contact police when the person is there or if there’s a problem.

– A dispute was reported at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 800 block of Jennings Avenue where police found two females and a male involved in a verbal dispute over a relationship issue. All involved were told to cease communications until they can be civil.

– A spokesman for Courtyard at Lexington, 2345 Lexington Ave., reported at 2:11 a.m. Tuesday that a suspicious male was trying to go into the business. Employees said the male was in his bare feet and was asking to enter the business, saying he needed help. He was found in the parking lot of Salem Commons and was confused as to how he arrived in the area. He could not provide officers with further information. Fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance arrived and he was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center. After contacting the Ohio State Highway Patrol, police learned that the man was involved in an accident the previous evening outside of the city and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

– Police were called at 11:34 p.m. Monday to the area of Salem High School off of East Sixth Street for a report of smoke in the area. Officers determined the smoke was steam coming from the parking lot blacktop.

– An anonymous caller at 11:12 p.m. Monday reported loud persons in the 400 block of South Union Avenue. Two people advised officers they had an argument but they were fine. Both advised they would keep the noise down.

– A juvenile problem was reported at 8:16 p.m. Monday in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue, but police were unable to make contact with a juvenile.

– Criminal damaging to a vehicle was reported at 5:17 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of East Eighth Street.

– An alarm was reported at 5 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. The exterior was checked and found secure.

– Police responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 4:52 p.m. Monday for a resident who wanted to ask a question about a notice he was served. He was advised that police do not handle or get involved in landlord/tenant issues.

– Fraud was reported at 3:58 p.m. Monday by a woman in the 400 block of Columbia Street who said she attempted to take out a loan online through a loan company called Money Today. The loan company contacted her and advised her to purchase iTunes gift cards and to send the company the numbers on the back of the cards. An officer gathered information.

– Police responded to Kelley Park at 3:46 p.m. Monday for a report of criminal damaging. No one was found and the officers saw no damage.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded twice Saturday night to a Green Lane residence in regard to issues between Douglas Pridemore and other people. At 7:48 p.m., officers reported a dispute between Pridemore and Tonya Jenkins, when he said he did not want her children at the apartment. Neither Pridemore nor Jenkins was willing to leave, so officers advised them to be civil to one another or one or both of them would end up in jail. At 10:18 p.m., officers returned to the residence and found Pridemore and Tyrone Coles fighting in the alley, apparently related to the previous call between Pridemore and Jenkins. Coles claimed Pridemore pushed an air conditioner through a window onto his shoulder, according to reports. No arrests or injuries were reported.

– Officers responded to Etruria Street Saturday for a possible domestic dispute, where both the man and woman denied any problem. A short time later, the same caller reported “they’re at it again,” saying the woman had been hit in the head. Officers said the man told them she was intoxicated and injured her head herself, and the woman was transported to the emergency room. No names were listed on the report.

– Officers accompanied the dog warden Monday to a Walnut Street residence where tenants reportedly left several dogs behind. The house was reported to be in deplorable condition, with dog feces all over. The door was secured only with a piece of cardboard, according to reports. The report did not indicate the condition of the dogs.

– Brian Mazza, South Shadylane, reported two unauthorized transactions on his bank account, one for $450 and the other for $1,320, possibly by someone he knows.

– Tawny Williams, no address listed, reported her purse was stolen from Scotty’s Bar and her bank card used at several places since the theft.

– Megan J. Gregg, 26, Minerva Street, reported her ex-fiance came to her home and assaulted her then fled, taking her cell phone with him.

Wellsville

– Mitchell Reiner, state Route 45, was driving on Lincoln Street passing Garfield Elementary around 2 p.m. Thursday when Destiny Earich opened her car door and it hit the mirror of Reiner’s pickup truck.

– Dennis Baker, Clark Avenue, reported Thursday his orange Aaron’s rototiller sometime in the last week. He said it had an aftermarket star knob that would stand out from average rototillers.

– Christine Pirkheim, 18th Street, Thursday reported she was being threatened by Brittany Turner, Independence Square, via Facebook. Police told Turner to quit it.

– Brian K. Monte, Broadway Avenue, reported at 10:18 a.m. Friday his company truck was hit in the driver’s side mirror, breaking it.

– Richard L. Zacharias, Crews Road, was backing up at Rich Oil at 11 a.m.Friday and struck a parked Frito Lay delivery truck driven by Kenneth Blackburn, Willard Road, Hanoverton.

– Paul Daniels, a cashier at Rich Oil, reported at 3 a.m. Monday someone came into the store and wanted two cartons of Marlboro full-flavored cigarettes and two cartons of Newport shorts. The man’s card was declined. He told Daniels he had another credit card, was working for the carnival and was traveling to Florida in the morning. Daniels said he turned his head for a second, and the man fled on foot with the smokes, valued at $280. He was described as wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt, white tennis shoes, tattoos on his hands and arms, and short dirty blond/brown hair.

Lisbon

– Firefighters were called to a traffic accident on Steubenville Pike at 3:19 p.m. Monday.

Columbiana

– The burglar alarm sounded at the Tic Toc convenient store at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, and police arrived to find the glass in the front door broken but no one inside. The suspect appeared to tamper with the cash register and ATM machine but did not get into either one before leaving.

– A cement truck pulled down the phone line in Chestnut Alley on North Main Street at 8:16 a.m. Saturday, and the street department set up barricades at both ends of the alley in the line was repaired. The cement truck was from Bessemer Concrete in Petersburg.

– There was a report of possible gunshots in the 300 block of Main Street at 4:38 p.m. Saturday, which turned out to be from a non-lethal firing range.

– Police were asked to check on the welfare of a Fairfield Avenue resident at 11:42 p.m. Saturday.

– Kimberly Sauerwein, Detwiler Road, reported her phone was stolen from a home on Prestwick Court at 6:20 p.m. Saturday.

Salem

– Police were called at 4:22 a.m. Sunday to the 800 block of Franklin for a burglary in progress, locating a man in a fenced-in back yard. He told officers he was invited over eight hours ago by his ex-girlfriend who lives there. The resident said he didn’t know the man and he’s not wanted there. The male knocked on all the doors looking for the resi-dent’s daughter but she wasn’t there. The man was released and told not to return or he could be charged with criminal trespass.

– City police assisted Perry Township police at 2:48 a.m. Sunday with a drunken driving arrest via a test at the station, which was refused by the person, who was then transported to the Perry Township Police station for more paperwork.

– An officer on patrol at 12:44 a.m. Sunday saw brake lights to one of the mail carrier vehicles stuck on at the Salem post office parking lot off of Columbia Street. The officer was unable to correct the problem. Contact was attempted with a post office employee about the problem, with a voicemail message left.

– Steven Miranda Jr., 19, of 929 Franklin Ave., was cited with a minor misdemeanor for possession of marijuana after an officer on patrol at 12:24 a.m. Sunday on Franklin near Aetna smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana while passing three males walking on the street. The officer stopped and spoke with them, detecting a very strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from them. The report said a sandwich baggie containing marijuana was recovered from Miranda.

– Loud persons were reported at 11:40 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Pershing Street. A resident was told about the complaint and said she would quiet down.

– An officer at 11:38 p.m. Saturday made contact with a man who said he heard noise at his rear door on South Lincoln Avenue. The officer checked the outside of the building and the rest of the complex and no one was located.

– A big bonfire was reported at 9:25 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Olive Street where the resident was advised of the open burning policies and put the fire out.

– A male was reported missing at 8:50 p.m. Saturday from a care facility at 1985 E. Pershing St. An officer located the male nearby and he was brought back to the facility.

– A juvenile problem was reported at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East Third Street. A woman said her son was acting out and would not stop. Officers spoke to the boy, who calmed down.

– An intoxicated person was reported at 5:53 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West State Street. Officers found the person intoxicated in a nearby lot and assisted with transportation to his residence. He was told to stay there for the rest of the night.

– An ATM card found in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue Saturday was returned to the owner.

– A woman asked for a well-being check at 10:57 a.m. Saturday for a resident in the 800 block of Barclay Avenue, saying it was unusual for her to not be able to reach the woman while mowing her yard. An officer saw the woman walk by a window. Contact was made by phone and she came to the door and said all was fine.

Salineville

– Scott Wallen reported at 4 p.m. Thursday someone stole $580 from his wallet while sleeping on the couch. During the investigation, he admitted spending some of the money at a local bar and possibly with a local drug addict. Wallen was reported to be extremely intoxicated and could not identify a specific person in the house who took the money.

– A High Street resident reported at 1:57 p.m. Friday some boys climbed his fence to get their baseball back. He stressed to officers that people have been climbing his fence recently for that purpose and wishes to prosecute for trespassing. Signs have been posted at the house, and officers will review surveillance video. Officers will also make school officials and parents aware to stay away from the man’s residence.

– Shawndra Mason, John Street, requested assistance at 9 p.m. Wednesday to remove her estranged daughter, Shaundrea Crute, from the home. The two had been arguing over Crute’s children. She reportedly is homeless and had attempted to take her children away from Mason, who has been caring for the children for the last seven months. Officers told Crute, in an attempt to keep the children safe, that she can take the children as long as she has transportation and isn’t homeless. Since Mason had been taking care of the children, reported to be clean and well-nourished for the past seven months, the children remained with Mason. An investigation determined no sign of physical violence, and was determined to be a verbal argument. Crute was escorted off the property and taken out of town by another family member.

– A village resident reported around 3 p.m. May 31 he left his black and green/yellow duffel bag at the Railroad Auto Spa on East Main Street while washing his vehicle. It was not there when officers checked.

Cliff Vankirk of New Waterford reported to Columbiana police Thursday taking a 1.5 carat ring to the former Kimpel’s jewelry store to be reset, and after reading in the newspaper about all the complaints about Kimpel’s, his insurance company recommended getting the ring appraised. It turned out the ring is glass.

County Sheriff

– A domestic dispute was reported at 2:52 p.m. Thursday at a Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, home. Deputies found it appeared to be between two siblings and one left the scene. The boy was located. The mother signed a refusal to prosecute.

– Amy Mabbit, Charleton Drive, Hanoverton, reported at 8:58 a.m. Friday someone entered her vehicle overnight and stole her mother, Wanda Johnson’s purse, a credit card and other items.

– Jessica Radar, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 2:50 p.m. Thursday she was driving eastbound in the Italo’s parking lot off state Route 45 in the Lisbon area, when Nancy Saling, state Route 39, Salineville, backed from a parking space striking Radar’s vehicle. Both vehicles are insured by Nationwide, which is located in the same plaza and responded to take photographs of the damage.

– Breanne Motsi, Forrest Street, Lisbon, reported a fight at 12:49 a.m. Friday. Her roommate, Kirk Kriger, who is in the process of moving out, reportedly came to the home, tried to pick a fight and left on foot before deputies arrived.

– Samantha Shultz, Lake Street, Beloit, reported at 6:42 p.m. Thursday she has a protection order against Scott Freet, but she received a call linked to a text message app where he said Shultz’s girls were getting big and that he misses them. She also found one of the trees in her yard spray-painted with “I (heart symbol) Sam.” The matter was sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

– Helen Lucas, Lynchburg Road, Kensington, reported at 7:21 p.m. Thursday while her son was attending EDI Central on Thursday one of his peers gave him some pills for his mother and he wanted to turn them over to authorities.

– Costen Santelmo, New England Square, New Waterford, reported at 8:12 p.m. Thursday there was an injured deer on Middleton Road, which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. The deer was found in a field and appeared to have both back legs broken. The deer was euthanized and released to the son of the property owner.

– Carol Brown, Chester, W.Va., reported at 12:19 p.m. Thursday she found her brother, a resident of Malone Road, Salineville, who appeared to have died of natural causes. The coroner’s office was called and approved transport to the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home.

– David Hostetter, state Route 170, East Palestine, reported at 2:10 p.m. Thursday he had come home to find someone entered his home and broke several items. He did not believe anything was missing. The neighbor said they did not see anything.

Highway Patrol

– Jennifer R. Webb, 32, Depot Street, Rogers, struck a deer while driving on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 8:54 p.m. Tuesday.

– Christopher G. Selby, 40, East Martin Street, East Palestine, was cited for assured cleared distance after his vehicle struck the rear of a stopped vehicle driven by Mary P. Matthews, 34, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 1:42 p.m. Wednesday. Selby said his foot slipped off the brake while he was stopped behind Matthews.

Columbiana

– Kelsey Ewing reported she was stopped at the red light at Routes 14 and 164 at 4:55 p.m. Thursday when another motorist told her was going to shoot her for no apparent reason.

– Police received an open buring complaint at 21 S. Cross St. at 1 p.m. Thursday. The owner said he was using the fire to cook and was given a warning.

East Palestine

– Police were called to West Clark Street at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday about trash from a residence blocking the sidewalk. Police spoke with Shannon L. McPheron and recommended the trash be placed in a can. He was also told his grass was in violation of village code and needed mowed. The officer checked the next day and the problems had been rectified.

– Don Elzer reported Tuesday a small pink and green girl’s bicycle was left at the rack at Dogs on the Run.

– A caller reported a dog was loose on East Martin at 10:17 a.m. Tuesday after it slipped its collar. Police helped catch the dog and told the owner, Robert E. Allen, he could be cited if this happens again.

– Amanda M. Bergum reported there was an erratic motorist driving in the area of Grant and Thomas streets at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday and speeding around the elementary school. The maroon colored car left the area prior to police arriving.

– Dave Rose reported Tuesday a 30-pound can of freon worth $460 was either lost or stolen from his truck while he was working at Pizza Joe’s.

– A man told police on Tuesday the weeds are so high near the park entrance that it is obscuring motorists’ line of sight.

– William Meek reported that his son was almost run over at Gorby’s in Negley about 7 p.m. Tuesday, and the county sheriff’s office also contacted the police department to say it had also received the same call.

– Patricia Craven, East Taggart Street, reported someone was breaking into her home at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday, but she called back to say it was her son and everything was fine.

– Kayla McCreary reported seeing a couple in a silver van pull into a dirt parking lot on Park Avenue, and the man appeared to have punched a child before leaving. This was at 1:52 p.m. Wednesday, but police were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Rachel Freeman, East Taggart Street, reported Tuesday receiving harassing calls. Police attempted to call the number but was unable to complete the call.

-Police backed up sheriff’s deputies on a domestic dispute call involving Tracy L. Mattern on Riggs Drive at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday.

– Police were called to a neighbor dispute on East Taggart Street at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday, where Robert Maxwell reported his neighbor struck a reflector at the end of the driveway while mowing. Maxwell said this is the third time it happened and he spoke to his neighbor before. The reflector is clearly on Maxwell’s property, and the neighbor was told by police to limit his mowing to his property. The neighbor said he would also replace the reflector.

– Police located a 14-year-old runaway at a West North Avenue residence at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday.The boy had run away earlier in the day from Lisbon and was taken to the county juvenile detention facility.

Salem

– Officers responded to a report of possible gunshots fired in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Southeast Boulevard at 8:41 a.m. Thursday, but were unable to locate anything suspicious

– An officer responded to a Continental Drive home at 1:08 p.m. Thursday where a resident had been found dead, apparently having died sometime between the previous day and the time of the report. No evidence of foul play was observed.

– Officers responded to a 2400 block East State Street business at 1:36 p.m. Thursday where a woman had become weak and stumbled. She was given oxygen but declined to be taken to the hospital. A case worker was contacted to pick her up.

– An officer responded to Centennial Park at 8:42 p.m. Thursday in reference to several males possibly in a dispute. The officer spoke with the males and determined there was no problem.

– Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 9:41 p.m. Thursday in reference to a reckless driver and found the driver to be reported as a missing adult out of Canton. Family members were contacted to pick her up.

– An officer responded to Bank Street home at 1:29 a.m. Friday where a woman reported having had a fight with her boyfriend and now she was packing to leave. The boyfriend confirmed the fight, but said no violence occurred and he did not understand why she contacted the police.

– An officer responded to the area of Meadowview Drive and Westview Avenue at 7:14 a.m. Friday in reference to a suspicious man lying in the grass. The officer found the man kneeling in the yard smoking a cigarette.

East Liverpool

Members of the county Drug Task Force, Special Response Team, Sheriff’s Department and city police department executed a search warrant at 687 Green Lane Wednesday afternoon. As members of the SRT entered the alley, they encountered a man identified as Cole Sloan, 22, Green Lane, and ordered him to the ground. He fled into an adjacent residence where he was found hiding behind a couch. An SRT member reported Sloan had what appeared to be marijuana fragments over the front of his shirt. According to reports, Sloan not following officers’ commands caused them “great concern” about his potential actions. He was charged with obstructing official business.

The owner of an apartment building on Lincoln Avenue called to report several people using drugs in a bathroom open to all tenants. Officers arrived to find the bathroom door closed, saying they could hear several people inside. An officer knocked on the door and was told by a man inside he was urinating but the officer reported being able to see through the partially closed door and seeing a man injecting his arm with a hypodermic needle. He knocked again and the door was opened, but when the people inside realized it was a police officer knocking, Thomas Barton, 32, reportedly threw something into the bathtub. Officers recovered two hypodermic needles from the bathtub. Barton and two others in the bathroom were sent on their way, with Barton advised he will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sherry J. Smith, 52, East 4th Street, was charged Wednesday afternoon with theft after reportedly concealing two bottles of Kool Aid in the front pocket of her overalls. The Kool Aid was valued at $6.44.

Courtney Gardner, Minerva Street, reported returning home to find the back door standing open and the bedroom ransacked, with three items taken.

Donald Jones and a Mr. Burgess, both of Dresden Avenue, each reported damage to their vehicles’ windows by having apparently been shot with BBs.

A woman called to report an incident that occurred in 1997, with no other details reported.

Matt Bowling, Ohio Avenue, reported a gray pit bull had attacked his dog, telling police the last time this dog was loose, it killed his other dog. The dog warden was notified, and Bowling was advised to see the law director about filing charges.

Officers were asked to do a welfare check on children residing on Charles Street, who reportedly never go outside and are never clothed. They spoke with the father, who said his children go to speech therapy at the YMCA and they are fine. There were toys in the yard. Officers advised him Children’s Services may do a follow up.

Columbiana-Metropolitan Housing Authority employees reported finding a 48-year-old tenant deceased in her apartment. The coroner and police are attempting to locate her family.

Connie Balch, Williams Avenue, reported her home entered and numerous household items taken.

Melissa Geer, Virginia Street, reported she rented her residence to a male friend and returned a year later to retrieve the rest of her belongings. She found two jewelry boxes missing, one of which contained her grandmother’s rings. The current tenant denied taking the items.

Goshen Police District

– Melissa L. Mills, 32, Sebring, was charged with OVI and no driver’s license after an officer responded to the area of U.S. Route 62 and Seacrist Road at 8:28 p.m. May 16 where a motorist reported Mills had been driving recklessly then struck their vehicle and fled the scene. Mills returned shortly after with the vehicle’s owner, claiming that she was upset and talking on the phone and was unaware she was driving recklessly and struck another vehicle.

– An officer responded to the 14000 block of Seacrist Road at 2:03 p.m. May 17 for a report of a vehicle that had been broken into.

– A motorist reported at 9:59 p.m. at May 17 that his vehicle had been struck by something thrown from a passing vehicle at state Route 165 and Beaver Creek Road.

– An officer responded to a burglary report in the 7000 block of Western Reserve Road at 8:21 a.m. May 18.

– Nicholas C. Stanton, 18, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance on West South Range Road at 3:03 p.m. May 19. He failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Charity H. Mondak, 39, Salem. Mondak was treated on scene for non-life threatening injuries.

– Tyler Lee Antoniazzi, 21, Columbiana, was cited for assured clear distance on state Route 14 at Beaver Creek Road at 4:09 p.m. May 21. He failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Larry W. Lippiatt Jr., 54, Salem. Lippiatt was treated on scene for possible injuries.

– Zakary Taylor Rogers, 18, North Benton, was cited for failure to control after wrecking in the 11000 block of West South Range Road at 5:08 p.m. May 21.

– An officer responded to a Stratton Road business at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday where a woman reported an older customer had stopped by and claimed she still had some of his property even though she did not. She said she was nervous because he was acting aggressively.

– An officer responded to a grass fire in the 7000 block of West South Range Road at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday and provided traffic control until the fire department cleared.

– A Pine Lake Road resident reported she was driving on Route 165 near Washingtonville Road Sunday when a passing motorist threw something at her vehicle, causing damage that she noticed the previous day.

– An officer responded to a 12000 block state Route 45 business at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday where Cleveland business owner reported he had given the local business owner a forklift to demo and now he would not return the forklift nor return his calls. The forklift could be seen from a window at the business. He was advised to contact an attorney.

– Tracey Sanlo, Teegarden Road, Hanoverton, reported at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday her daughter’s debit card had a fraudulent charge, where someone purchased $133 in merchandise from Walmart in Reynoldsburg.

– Stacey Aldridge, Wildwood Drive, Beloit, reported at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday his neighbor, James Bowlin, pushed him after an argument stemming from a parking issue. Bowlin admitted to pushing Aldridge because he also felt threatened. Both parties agreed not to pursue charges.

– Brandi Cope, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 3 p.m. Tuesday she was being harassed by her husband’s family.

– Mary Salsberry, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, reported at 12:06 p.m. Tuesday someone was camping on her property. While they were there, Lt. Allan Young and Chief Deputy Allen Haueter found a white pickup off the side of the driveway about to slide over the hill. The pickup was loaded with scrap from the campsite and Shane A. Kitzmiller, Midland, Pa., said he had come to clean up and was loading some trailer axles along the driveway for scrap. When he backed up to the axles, the struck began to slide sideways over the edge of the hill. Kitzmiller said he had permission to be there, which will be checked with the property owner.

– Michael Grate, McCracken Road, Salem, reported at 8:46 p.m. Tuesday a tractor pulling equipment struck his trash can at the end of the driveway, breaking off the lid.

Highway Patrol

-Chase M. Brown, 25, state Route 45, Lisbon, struck a deer while driving on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 9:58 p.m. Tuesday.

-Kimberly A. Barth, 58, Pembrooke Drive, Salem, was cited for failure to control after she went off the road and overturned while driving on Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 2:25 p.m. May 24. Barth, who was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, told the trooper she lost control while trying to get a bee out of the vehicle.

– Douglass E. Moffett, 45, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, was cited for failure to control after he went off the road and struck a tree while driving on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 2:18 p.m. Friday.

– Barbara A. Page, 58, of West Mifflin, Pa., was cited for failure to control after she struck a vehicle driven by Julie Pastore-Vrable,41, state Route 45, Lisbon, at the intersection of state Route 172 and Depot Road in Center Township at 3:33 p.m. Friday.

-Frank B. Gardner, 20, Dewey Avenue, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control and driving without a license after he went off the road and through properties owned by Tom Wilcox and Leonard Plate on state Route 170 in Middleton Township at 4:40 p.m. Friday. Gardner left the scene and later told a trooper he did so because one of the property owners was being mean to him. The vehicle belonged to Jacklynn Wooley, Clark Street, East Liverpool, who said Gardner is her husband’s cousin and he took the vehicle without their permission.

-Brian E. Murphy, 45, Church Street, New Waterford, was riding a three-wheel bicycle on Riffle Road in Middleton Township at 1:23 p.m. Saturday when he went off the road and wrecked. Murphy, who was ejected, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

-Nathan D. Vuletic, 24, Dyke Road, Negley, was cited for failure to yield and driving a golf cart on a road after striking a vehicle driven by Lauren A. Balmenti, 17, state Route 170, Negley, on Dyke Road in Middleton Township at 7:48 p.m. Saturday.

-Theodore J. Kordecki, 41, Bye Road, Rogers, was cited for failure to control after he went off the road into a ditch while driving on Crestview Road in Fairfield Township at 4:19 p.m. Sunday.

-Paul J. Vincent, 56, McIntosh Road, Wellsville, was driving on McIntosh Road in Madison Township at 1 p.m. Monday.

-Scott W. Brown, 43, state Route 154, Lisbon, crashed into a ditch while riding his motorcycle on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township at 4:40 p.m. Monday. He was flown by helicopter to a local hospital. Just prior to the accident, Brown’s wife called the highway patrol to say he was driving impaired and heading from Rogers toward Lisbon, and she was afraid he was going to hurt himself and others. Brown smelled of alcohol and was belligerent with the EMTs called to the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

– David L. Whipkey, 29, state Route 213, Hammondsville, was cited for failure to control after he lost control on a curve and struck a tree while driving on Boyd Road in Yellow Creek Township at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday.

Lisbon

– Alli J. Davis, 16, state Route 45, Lisbon, was driving on Cedar Street in a GMC Terrain when she was struck by a bicycle being ridden by Richard Lips of the Hornsby House at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses said Lips was moving fast when he rounded a curve and went left of center, striking the SUV, which was barely moving. Lips was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

-Mike Lewis reported Tuesday new tenants had moved items into his rental property on Maple Street last Friday but they had yet to contact him. Lewis wanted to remove their items but was advised this was a civil matter and to contact an attorney before doing anything.

– Mike Smith, Apple Grove apartments, called at 1:38 p.m. Monday to say he wanted someone removed from his property. Smith was told he needed to produce a no trespassing order first from Terri Keyser.

Columbiana

– Police were called to South Vine Street at 2:26 a.m. Tuesday in regard to a possible sexual assault that occurred during a party attended by 17 and 18 year olds involving alcohol. No adults were home at the time this was going on. The matter remains under investigation.

-Andrew Cain Jr., Fairfield Avenue, reportedly backed into a vehicle driven by Stephanie Mercer, Fairfield Avenue, in the Save A Lot supermarket parking lot at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday.

– A caller reported a dog had been barking for more than an hour on North Main Street at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday. Police spoke with the dog owner, Taylor Jones, Firestone Avenue, who was given a final warning.

East Palestine

– Melinda Czerwinski, 68, England Drive, East Palestine, was cited for failure to yield after the SUV she was driving pulled into the path of a motorcycle operated by Paul Tanona, 69, of Youngstown, at the intersection of North Market and Highland Avenue at 3:22 p.m. Monday. Tanona sustained severe injuries from the resulting accident and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

East Liverpool

– Brian J. Hebb, 42, Huston Avenue, was charged Wednesday morning with theft after employees of Giant Eagle reportedly saw him placing grilled chicken and razors valued at $9.11 inside his coat before purchasing soft drinks and leaving the store.

– Brandon N. McClung, no address listed, reported being harassed by a former police officer from Steubenville. He was advised to see the law director if he wishes to file charges.

– Clarence F. Rowland, West Church Lane, reported three tires slashed on his van, and videos from nearby residences and businesses showed two white males committing the vandalism.

– Hollie C. Reese, Rubicon Street, reported her bank card taken and used by an unknown person.

– Nicole Smith, Ambrose Avenue, reported her son told her the man next door shot him with a plastic BB, and officers said the boy did have a visible mark. The neighbor told officers the kids were shooting at a tire so Smith’s son must have been hit then. He was advised not to allow kids to play with BB guns in that manner, and Smith was advised she can contact the law director if she wishes to file charges.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded to Echo Dell Trailer Park for a possible overdose but a man who saw them coming shut the door and officers heard several people running to the rear of the trailer. A woman thought to be the overdose victim said she was fine and that she had been having problems with a man and perhaps he had called. Officers reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from the trailer and said five people inside were checked for warrants but none were found.

– Joy Anne Tanner reported unauthorized use of her credit card.

– Officers responded to 16673 state Route 267 for a neighbor dispute, with no other details reported.

– Tori Whitehead, no address listed, reported she walked into Tim Horton’s, dropping her wallet, and someone must have picked it up. She later called to report finding her wallet, saying she had not lost it in the first place.

– Duane C. Hetzer, no address listed, reported leaving his wallet on the counter at Taco Bell, saying no one turned it in. The wallet contained cash, credit cards and his concealed carry permit.

– A child’s backpack and a laptop were found on Glenn Street, and an officer retrieved them.

– Officers responded to 16462 Glenn Street for a vandalism report, with no other details reported.

Perry Township

– Police were called at 3:52 a.m. Wednesday to the 1300 block of Elberon for a female yelling. An officer spoke with a female and male who said their juvenile daughter was outside in the back yard having an argument with her boyfriend via the phone. They were told to keep the noise down for the rest of the night.

– Kristina Marie Tyson, 25, whose last known address was Sebring, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 8:08 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Georgetown Road. She and her passengers were picked up by her mother. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

– Police responded to an abandoned house on Goshen Road after a neighbor called at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday to report seeing an unfamiliar gray van occupied by a female sitting in the driveway. The female told police she was trying to get directions to Akron and had gotten lost. She was given directions. Police checked the house, which appeared secure.

– Police were called at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday to the state Route 45 bypass between state Route 9 and Georgetown Road for a vehicle that lost a wooden outhouse it was hauling. The operator, Leonard McLaughlin of Salem, said the trailer had an equipment failure causing the structure to fall off the trailer. Police stood by while the structure was put on a different trailer and hauled away.

– A third party caller at 8:17 p.m. Monday reported a male juvenile threatened bodily harm to himself in the 1500 block of New Garden. Police checked on the welfare of the juvenile and didn’t see anything out of the usual.

Salem

– A possible scam was reported at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of East Fourth Street where a woman said she received multiple calls from the same number with the person advising they are from the IRS and there is a lawsuit against her. She was told not to answer the phone if they call back.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of East Seventh Street where a male resident said his mother slapped him across the face due to him not doing the dishes. An officer spoke to the mother who admitted she was wrong. No injuries were observed. He decided to leave on his own to allow emotions to calm down.

– A resident in the 400 block of West Fifth Street called at 11:59 a.m. Wednesday regarding debris in the road from a trash company pickup. The resident who the trash belonged to was contacted and cleaned up the mess.

– Mobile Meals contacted police at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday to check the welfare of a resident in the 200 block of West 14th. All was fine. The man had been sleeping .

– A man at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday passed on some information regarding possible drug abuse in the city.

– A woman on Lexington Avenue reported a possible mail scam at 10:29 a.m. Wednesday, saying she received a sweepstakes letter in the mail advising she won over $1 million dollars. She never entered a sweepstakes. She was told it was most likely a scam. She was told not to send any money to the company.

– A woman on West Sixth Street reported a possible scam at 10:28 a.m. Wednesday. She said she was contacted by a lawyer in New York City who said if she were to make a couple money transfers, she could receive back money she lost out on 10 years ago. She advised the transfers were made and she already contacted her bank about the issue.

– A woman and family members in the 900 block of West Pershing Street contacted police at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday about concerns with their pit bull-type dog becoming too aggressive. She said they’ve tried to find someone to take the dog, but they’ve been turned down by some of the agencies, including the humane officer who won’t because it’s aggressive and the dog warden who won’t since they own the dog. They were told to take the dog to a veterinarian but they don’t want to put the dog down. The officer said he would contact them if he found an agency to take the dog.

– A caller at 8:58 a.m. Wednesday reported vehicles blocking an alley where no parking signs are posted in the 600 block of East Sixth. A female resident said she was given permission by a housing inspector when they moved in to park there. One vehicle belonged to a nurse visiting and she was going to move it. The officer was checking with the housing inspector regarding permission to park.

– A man in the 900 block of Franklin reported at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday that a tenant he recently evicted will not stop text messaging him. He told the person to stop but the person isn’t listening. An officer will contact him about stopping contact.

– A cow was reported in the road at Fairview Court East and Whinnery at 7:12 a.m. Wednesday. The animal was found and began walking eastbound behind houses and into a field in Perry Township. The owner was contacted and advised about the loose animal and said he would have someone enroute to retrieve it.

– Police responded to Elberon Avenue to assist Perry Township at 3:56 a.m. Wednesday with a possible domestic, but the township officer said all was fine and nothing further was needed.

– An open burning complaint was reported at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Park Avenue. The fire department explained only clean firewood can be burned in the city limits. A verbal warning was given.

– A woman in the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:46 p.m. Tuesday that someone broke into her safe and various medications were taken from her.

– A woman in the 100 block of West 16th Street reported phone harassment at 9:42 p.m. Tuesday, saying her son was getting texts from a random phone number. An officer will try to make contact with someone at the number.

– An alarm was reported at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue where the exterior was found secure.

– A neighbor dispute dealing with driveway access was reported at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Aetna Street. A woman said the driveway access between two residences is a legal alley and the next door neighbor parked in the back part of the alley, making it impossible for her to turn around from parking spaces at the rear of her residence. She waited some time before asking the neighbor if he was going to move his vehicle. The neighbor allegedly became upset and began using vulgar language. An officer spoke with the neighbor, advised him of the complaint and requested he not block the shared alley access each residence must use as a driveway.

– Reagan M. Duck, 19, of 985 Main St., Wellsville, and Myquia Jones, 18, of 201 15th St., Wellsville, were each charged with theft and taken to the Columbiana County jail after police were called to Walmart at 8:12 p.m. Tuesday for alleged shoplifters. Asset protection employees said two people concealed merchandise before attempting to leave without paying. Duck reportedly took $45.80 worth of merchandise while Jones reportedly took $44.61 worth of merchandise.

– A dog was reported at large at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday in the area of West Fifth Street and Jennings Avenue, but was not located.

– Police responded to Centennial Park for a report at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday of a fight involving a large group of people. Two people in the group said they engaged in friendly horseplay involving physically slapping each other, saying they were good friends. Other witnesses also said it was only horseplay and slapping, no punching. Officers told both people that their disorderly conduct was panic inducing to onlookers and that they should refrain from such activity in the future.

– A juvenile caller reported at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday that another person was threatening to beat her up. The officer was advised of a person of interest and said he will attempt to contact the person and advise her to leave the juvenile alone or she could be charged with menacing.

– A resident in the 100 block of South Union reported at 3:59 p.m. Tuesday that a BB was shot at an upstairs window of the home.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Ray Cable, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 8:24 a.m. Monday the neighbors had a party and it appeared someone from the party drove from the neighbor’s driveway, through Cable’s yard and knocked over a sign with the address on it.

– A Lake Front Drive, Beloit, mother reported at 6:36 p.m. Monday her 16-year-old son refuses to listen and punched the wall, possibly breaking his wrist. Deputies spoke to the teen, who said he will never listen to his mom. After learning he threatened to harm himself, the teen was taken by Beloit EMS to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman.

– Mary Courtney, U.S. Route 62, Salem, reported at 3:19 p.m. Monday she is being harassed by a 16-year-old girl, who has a child with her son. The son and the girl have been living together and it has been causing tension in the family. Deputies spoke with the girl and also with her mother about the situation.

– Eugene Williams, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 6:25 a.m. Saturday someone opened his garage and stole his vehicle’s registration, along with a sledge hammer and a flashlight.

– Shelly Edwards of the Homeworth Pantry reported at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday someone broke into the store. Heather Fockler, who lives upstairs, told deputies she heard a loud noise and screamed at the man from her window before going outside and chasing him. He was wearing a green hoodie, saggy pants with a belt and had a bag in his right hand. He ran up the alley toward the triplex near the feed mill. Inside the store, nothing appeared to be missing. The surveillance camera showed a tall, slender man break the window in the door, walk to the counter, then get spooked and jump out the door. The matter is under investigation.

– Mary Salsberry, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, the owner of a property on County Airport Road at Bibbee’s Lake reported at 3 p.m. Friday it appears someone set up camp on her property and she wants them to move on. Deputies went with Salsberry to the campsite, finding a tent and other items. After examining some of the items, the Columbiana County Drug Task Force was called because it appeared some may have been items for making methamphetamines. It was determined by the DTF not to be a meth making operation. Salsberry was permitted to remove the items from her property.

-Sophie Grubb, an employee of American Boarding Home, Beard Road, New Waterford, reported at 12:07 p.m. Friday one resident, Bill Fenton, walked away. The lone employee at the home could not leave to look for Fenton because someone had to remain with the 14 other residents at the facility. While on the way there, deputies learned Fenton was in the Jimtown Road area. A man said he found Fenton walking in the area and got him into his vehicle. Deputies took him back to the facility and explained to him it was unsafe for him to leave without telling someone where he was heading.

– Heather Rice, Hammondsville Road, Wellsville, reported at 3:44 p.m. Sunday she has been getting several unwanted calls and text messages from a man. Deputies spoke with him and told him to stop contacting Rice.

-Elaine J. Clark, Salem Grange Road, Salem, reported at 12:50 a.m. Saturday, Eric Stanislaw was very intoxicated and pushed her into a cabinet. He also allegedly pulled his fist back like he was going to hit her and told her he was going to kill her. She locked him out of the house, but he broke in and she started running. Deputies had found her running down the road. Stanislaw told deputies he was going to take his son and leave. He claimed Clark attacked him. Deputies attempted to get Stanislaw’s son to go inside the house so he would not see his father arrested, but Stanislaw grabbed the child and refused to let him go inside. He then tried to resist deputies, was taken to the ground and suffered injuries above his left eye. He was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center.

-An intoxicated Lynn Furlong, Teegarden Road, Lisbon, reported at 11:15 p.m. Sunday her husband Thomas Furlong wanted to check on his son, who was in his room playing video games. She did not see why he needed checked on so she put her arms up blocking him in the hallway. Her husband moved her aside and checked on the son. She wanted to pursue criminal charges. Thomas Furlong told deputies he just lightly moved her out of the way. Deputies suggested he and his son stay at a neighbor’s house for the night so she could sleep it off.

– Lindsey Bosel and Amanda Garretson, Desellem Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:39 p.m. Sunday, Jason Barnes came into their home without permission. Once inside, he threatened Bosel and assaulted Garretson. Following a traffic stop about an hour later, when Barnes swerved into the oncoming lane on state Route 45, Barnes was cited with expired license, reckless operation and also charged with burglary, menacing and assault.

Highway Patrol

– Sage M. Bradway, 19, and Devon L. Taylor, 15, both of whom live on the St. Clair Township section of Echo Dell Road, reported they were riding bicycles across a one-lane bridge on Echo Dell Road at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when they were sideswiped by a passing motorists, who kept on going. The pair were knocked from their bicycles, but neither were injured.

Lisbon

– Police were called to Apple Grove apartments in regard to a resident who had fallen in the bathroom at 6:55 p.m. Monday. The officer remained until an ambulance arrived to transport the person to a local hospital.

– Police were asked to check on the welfare of an East Washington Street resident at 5:33 p.m. Monday, but the officer determined the home was empty.

– Barbara Altomare, West Washington Street, reported Monday a table saw had been taken from her garage, and it could have only been one of two people. She said the saw belonged to John Nicholson.

– Police were called by Cain Dotson, East Lincoln Way, at 9:24 p.m. Sunday in regard to a civil issue over a car.

– Police responded to noise complaint at Apple Grove apartments at 3:12 p.m. Saturday, and the resident explained he had purchased a new stereo and was trying to figure it out. The resident agreed to turn it down.

– Village parks manager Dana Blackburn reported at 12:54 p.m. Saturday her iPad was missing from the Play Town playground. She called later to report it had been returned.

– Police were called to a domestic dispute on South Beaver Street at 11:13 a.m. Friday, where Jessica Holmes and Michael Gibson had been arguing over custody arrangements of their daughter. The two were told to come to an agreement or take the dispute to court.

– A caller reported there was a lot of patron noise coming from the Shenanigan’s Pub parking lot at 1 a.m. May 21. Police arrived and told the owner to keep his patrons’ inside and to also turn down the music.

– Police were called to 150 Moore St. at 9:23 p.m. Thursday in regard to a man removing items from his estranged wife’s apartment. Scott Mathesin was told he could not remove the items since they were still married and the items belong to her until he can get a court order.

– Harley O’Neal, North Beaver Street, reported her boyfriend had been drinking and was breaking things at 12:55 a.m. Saturday. The boyfriend left before police arrived but police caught up with him, and he cleaned up and there were no more problems.

– A caller heard a man on West Chestnut Street screaming about getting a gun to kill someone at 11:34 a.m. Monday. Police arrived and spoke to the man, who admitted pushing and grabbing his mother. She denied anything happened and refused to press charges.

– Brianna Bendler, Pritchard Avenue Extension, reported Monday her ex-boyfriend, Darren McDole, grabbed her face and dug his nails in after she told he would not see her child again. McDole admitted they argued but denied grabbing her by the face.

– Walter E. Crow Jr., 21, of Lake Milton, was arrested for disorderly conduct after police were called to a civil dispute on East Lincoln Way at 9:49 p.m. Sunday. Crow reportedly arrived drunk and told at least five times to leave but refused.

– A clerk at the Valley View convenience store reported at 10:27 p.m. Friday reported a man with staples in his head was there asking for a ride to a local hospital. Police arrived, and an ambulance service was summoned.

– A barking dog complaint was received in the 500 block of North Jefferson Street at 12:49 a.m. Sunday. Police found three dogs penned up in a fenced-in yard, but no one was home. Police were able to calm the dogs down to a point in which they quit barking.

Columbiana

– Kayla Macklin of Salem reported her ex-husband put his hands on her at a West Friend Street residence at 11:43 a.m. Monday, but neither wished to press charges and she just wanted a report on file. Ms. Macklin came to the police department with her children at 9:12 p.m. to say her husband was to pick them up at 6 p.m. but had not arrived home. She said she would wait outside his home in her car.

East Palestine

– Ryan LaFrance of New Brighton, Pa., reported his wallet stolen while he was at the pool on Monday.

– Dakota N. Tomlinson, 20, was arrested for underage alcohol consumption on East Main at 7:49 p.m. Sunday.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called Friday to a Dresden Avenue home where a man and woman were heard shouting at each other, the man reportedly threatening to kill the woman. After several minutes of knocking on the door with no response, officers used a cement block to breach the door. They searched and found Wendell S. Beatty, 27, hiding in a muddy crawlspace in the basement, according to reports. He had multiple outstanding warrants from multiple agencies and was taken into custody. His girlfriend was unharmed.

– Amy L. Corak, 36, Lincoln Avenue, reported being assaulted by a man she knows and was advised to see the law director. The next day, officers saw the same man she had accused arguing with Corak and told him to leave or be arrested.

– James W. Larkins, Lisbon Street, reported a subcontractor failed to advise him he planned to remove three inches of concrete from a hole in front of his home. Larkins reported finding cement fragments on his Jeep, which was scratched.

– Shanice N. Thompson, Wilbert Avenue, reported someone entered her home and took 32-inch and 40-inch TVs, game systems, children’s clothing and lawn chairs.

– Darrel H. Locke, Vine Street, reported the theft of money from his father’s bank account.

– Vanessa L. Schreffler, Northside Street, reported a custody dispute with her daughter, who showed up to take her child, although Schreffler has custody. She provided police with the proper court papers proving this, according to reports. Officers said she also raised another concern and was told she needs to contact Children’s Services immediately and that the child should not go with its mother until the matter is investigated.

– Responding to reports of a vehicle parked against the flow of traffic, officers reported a passenger, Cassielynn Newlun, 39, no address listed, had an outstanding warrant for drug paraphernalia and was taken into custody.

Wellsville

– While working at the Wellsville Fireman’s Carnival at Nicholson Stadium, police were advised at 9:50 p.m. Thursday of a fight about to take place between two females on the grounds. An officer found Destiny Earich, 18, of Wood Street yelling and screaming at another girl while being held back by another woman. An officer advised Earich several times to stop yelling and settle down, but she continued to yell and attempted to get around the officer to get to the person with whom she was arguing. The officer then grabbed Earich and took her into custody, while another officer transported her to the police station. Earich was cited with persistent disorderly conduct.

– Ricky Lee Miller, a clerk at Rich Oil on Third Street, reported at 12:50 a.m. Friday she left her cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in a pink case, on the counter near the coffee pots when someone unknown to her took it. The incident was reported to have occurred within a 70-minute time span prior to the call.

– Police were called around 2 p.m. Sunday to the Rite Aid parking lot on Third Street and Broadway Avenue regarding a dog being hit by a car. An officer met with Richard Crawford, who said that he was traveling north on Broadway when a pitbull ran out in front of him, to which the center of the front bumper struck the animal. The only damage observed to Crawford’s gold Chevrolet Cobalt were screws knocked out of the license plate. An officer observed the dog, along with village Animal Control, and both stated the dog to be OK. The dog was returned to its owners.

Salem

– Thomas Gumola, 63, of Canton, Mich. was cited for failure to control after pulling out of Pizza Hut onto State and his semi hit a pole at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday.

– Police responded at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday to the 800 block of Aetna Street for a neighbor dispute and parking problem. A woman said her new neighbor parked in the back of her property near the garage so she had a problem backing out. She said the female neighbor argued with her but a male came out after he heard the shouting between the two and moved the car. She was told to contact an attorney if this continues.

– A spokesman for a business in the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue reported at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday that the tenant next door has been asked not to have his visitors park in the lot. On Tuesday, another car was parked there even though there was visitor parking at the the tenant’s apartment building. The tenant was contacted and said it was his cousin. He called him and told him not to do it in the future.

– Police were called at 11:26 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of Penn Avenue for a report of harassment. No threats or violence occurred. Both parties were told to cease contact with each other.

– A woman in the 100 block of West Eighth Street reported at 10:34 p.m. Monday that she was being harassed via text message by a person she knows. She was given her options.

– A person causing a disturbance was reported at 9:06 p.m. Monday in the area of State and Lincoln. The person was located and said he had been attempting to walk to the hospital when he had a problem with a passing motorist. Officers called fire department first responders and an ambulance and the male was transported to the emergency room.

– Drug paraphernalia was reported at 8:29 p.m. Monday in the area of South Union Avenue and Franklin where officers located a hypodermic needle on the ground and took possession to properly dispose of it.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 7:57 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of East Sixth Street. A woman said a friend of her neighbor continuously argues with her. Officers spoke with the other person and she said the woman made nasty remarks to her young daughter. Both were told to stay clear of each other.

– A woman reported at 7:45 p.m. Monday that while at Walmart on East State Street, chewing gum was smeared all over their daughter’s car windshield, along with having the window wiper blades put up.

– An officer was flagged down at 7:43 p.m. Monday by residents of West Perry Street who requested help with correcting a problem with an appliance.

– Police and firefighters responded to a report of open burning at 6:23 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Carole Drive. The resident had legal wood, but was illegally burning some brush and leaves. Firefighters explained the ordinance prohibiting the burning of those items. The person put out the fire.

– A woman from Fairview Court reported at 5:53 p.m. Monday that her ex-boyfriend continuously harasses her via cell phone and social media. She was told her options. Officers will attempt to contact the other person.

– A person from the 1700 block of South Lincoln at 5:25 p.m. Monday turned in a credit card found in his yard.

– Recovered property was reported at 1:33 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of North Cunningham Road. The items were brought to the station for safekeeping until the owner can be located.

– A suspicious object, described as a red balloon with “meth” written on it, was found at the rear of an address in the 800 block of Jennings Avenue. The balloon was brought back to the station and found to be a prank.

– Carol Dawes, of Ridge Road, reported at 12:51 p.m. Monday that she left an iPad in her vehicle and went inside a business in the 800 block of West State Street. When she came back out, someone had entered her vehicle and taken the iPad.

-A disabled teen was allegedly causing a disturbance in the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue at 12:20 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival, the teen was being transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG.

– Rosendo Onate Melendez, of Ohio Avenue, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, no operator’s license, assured clear distance and failure to control after the vehicle he was driving struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle on Second Street in the 400 block at 11:04 a.m. Monday.

– A woman in the 2000 block of Monroe reported at 10:17 a.m. Monday that someone unknown sent her some obscene pictures via Facebook messaging. She wanted it documented.

– Illegal dumping was reported at 8:44 a.m. Monday in the 1100 block of East Third Street. A woman said her neighbor put trash into her garbage cans. The neighbor was contacted and said the woman advised she could place trash into her cans. She said she would remove the trash to avoid problems.

Goshen Township

– An officer responded to Coy Park in Green Township at 12:35 p.m. Friday when a woman reported she had been at the park with her children and leashed dogs when a woman arrived and let her two dogs out without a leash. The other woman said she let her dogs out of her vehicle and walked down to a creek area and the dogs did not approach the other family at any time. She was advised of the law requiring dogs being leashed at the park.

– An officer responded to the 9000 block of Lisbon Road at 8:14 p.m. Friday where a motorist said he was driving past a home when a resident struck his vehicle with a stone thrown from his lawnmower.

– An officer responded to the 13000 block of Williams Street in Beloit at 10:45 p.m. Friday after receiving a noise complaint, but only found a group of people who said they were talking loudly. They were advised to keep the noise down.

– Anthony John Dundee, 20, Boardman, and Michael J. Amato, 18, 11824 Green Beaver Road, Canfield, were cited for underage consumption of alcohol after officers responded to a report of several trucks with multiple occupants driving around yelling near Lisbon and Cool roads at 2 a.m. Saturday. The officers found three trucks and a jeep with 11 individuals, all under 21, parked along the side of the road, but all other individuals tested negative for alcohol.

– An officer responded to a disabled vehicled in the 14000 block of U.S. Route 62 at 9:38 a.m. Saturday and found the driver out of gas.

– An officer responded to the 7000 block of Route 165 at 4:04 p.m. Saturday in reference to a loose camel and found the animal walking along the fence of the homeowner’s property. The owner was located at Greenford Christian Church.

– An officer responded to a 13000 block state Route 534 home at 4:42 p.m. Sunday where the resident reported damage to the rear of her vehicle that apparently happened overnight.

– An officer responded to that area of U.S. Route 62 and state Route 165 at 6:14 p.m. Sunday where a motorist said the driver of another vehicle threw an object at their vehicle, cracking the windshield. An officer responded to U.S. Route 62 near state Route 534 an hour later where another vehicle had been struck by an unknown object while driving eastbound, then found a second eastbound vehicle that had also been struck by an unknown object. The officer searched the area, but was unable to find anything suspicious. The officer returned to the area at 9:32 p.m. for a third motorist reporting an occupant in a passing vehicle threw a rock at her vehicle, but determined the incident happened in Smith Township. An officer responded to another like report in the 9000 block of state Route 165 at 9:45 p.m. in which a motorist said a passing motorist had thrown thrown an unknown object at his car. In each incident the suspect fled the scene.

– An officer responded to a Fifth Street home at 9:50 p.m. Sunday in reference to a fight and found that a mother was arguing with a youth at the home, who threatened to harm himself. The young person was transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation.

– An officer responded to the 12000 block of Sharon Lynn Drive at 1:15 a.m. Monday where a resident reported receiving threatening text messages.

– An officer responded to a state Route 45 home at 1:27 p.m. Monday where the resident reported his son was showing signs of harming himself. Damascus VFD?first responders arrived to evaluate the son’s injuries.

– An officer responded to a 13000 block Beaver Creek Road home at 8:24 p.m. Monday when a resident reported his mailbox had been damaged by a passing vehicle.

– An officer responded to a Stratton Road home at 3:31 a.m. Tuesday when a resident reported complications from prescription medication. Damascus VFD?first responders transported the resident to the Boardman St. Elizabeth’s hospital.

Lisbon

– Firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from a car at the county Education Service Center at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday.

Salem

– Firefighters were called at 1:58 a.m. Tuesday to the Smith Center for an alarm activation and found the building partially evacuated. The elevator room was full of smoke and two electric fans were set up to remove the smoke. The building was searched for tenants unable to evacuate. Maintenance was requested and told to have the service company make repairs to the elevator right away.
