POLICE

County Sheriff

– Jessica Hagan, Ridge Road, East Rochester, reported at 5:39 a.m. Wednesday reported there were objects in the roadway on Augusta Road near Ridge Road. Deputies found garbage and car parts scattered over the roadway. Deputies removed the large items from the roadway.

– Patty Green, Walnut Street, Rogers, reported at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday her grandson was tearing up her home. Deputies found him sitting on the couch. Green said her grandson is bipolar, has not been on his medication and has been hallucinating. He was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by East Palestine EMS for evaluation.

– David Utt, Depot Road, Lisbon, reported at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday his son was assaulted by another boy, age 9, at Guilford Highlands. The boy reportedly threw stones at Utt’s son, who was first taken to the Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment before he was taken to the sheriff’s office. The boy had a contusion on the left side of his head, as well as bruises on his legs and stomach. The matter is under investigation.

-Mark Thomas, West Washington Street, Lisbon, reported at 7:27 p.m. Tuesday he had been walking across North Market Street from the Dunkin Donuts when a man driving a red Dodge Durango stopped and threatened to beat him up. He kept walking and another man in the passenger seat waived a bat at him. Thomas said he walked into the McDonald’s and the pickup left the area.

– Suspicious activity was reported at Schafer Tire, state Route 39, Wellsville, at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday. A deputy and a Wellsville police officer checked the property and found an overhead basement garage door was up. Tires and some tools were around, but no one was found. The upstairs was secure. The door was closed and they left the area.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 7:39 a.m. Tuesday there was a suspicious vehicle in the Home Savings parking lot. Police checked with the vehicle and the man driving said he thought the bank lobby opened at 8 a.m.

– Police went to a Spruce Street home at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday for a Columbiana Schools students who was refusing to go to school.

– George Veon reported at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday there was an aggressive Gold Retriever in the area behind the Columbiana Plaza and West Park Avenue and it tried to attack him twice. Police checked the area but did not find the dog.

– Amy Jo Beery, 37, Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Lisbon Street near Pearl Street at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday.

– Michael A. Cochran Sr., Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Railroad Camp Road at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday.

– Jennifer Beaver reported at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday she noticed items were missing from her house. Police found the items and returned them to her.

– The sheriff’s office reported at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday Joyce Witt dropped off a suspicious man whom she had given a ride to at state Route 7 and state Route 14, as he was acting strange and was possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police found him and determined he was not under the influence of anything. The man was then transported to his vehicle.

– A Sunoco employee reported at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday Derek Calvin, 25, Canfield, was back in the store and wouldn’t leave. Police took Calvin back to his car where a trooper was waiting with a tow truck since his car was broken down.

St. Clair Township

– Officials of the Sears store in Calcutta reported items stolen. No other details were reported.

– Donald V. Weyand, 47, no address listed, was charged Tuesday with theft after reportedly selecting DVD movies, slicing open the packages with a razor knife and placing the movies into his pocket before leaving the store without paying.

– Charles Councell, no address listed, reported his son threatened on instagram while at Beaver Local School Tuesday. Councell said he had already spoken to school officials.

– Officers were dispatched to Wyoming Avenue Wednesday to remove a woman from a residence and, while en route, they saw the woman in question, Brandy A. Cottrill, 25, no address listed, walking on Y&O Road. She had an outstanding warrant out of Toronto Police Department and was taken into custody.

Salineville

– Police were called around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday to a Jefferson Street residence regarding a man who had collapsed. First responders arrived at the scene and attended to Anthony Sevek, 28, who was found with a spoon and a needle near his body. EMS arrived and stabilized Sevek using NARCAN and transported him to a local hospital. Charges are pending.

Salem

– An officer was called to Sugartree Alley at 7:28 a.m. Wednesday for an abandoned scooter in the road. The scooter was recovered by the officer, who took possession and placed it at the department for safekeeping.

– While on patrol at 3:39 a.m. Wednesday, officers discovered three vehicles parked in the 900 block of East Third Street, the 300 block of East Eighth Street and the 1400 block of Eastview had been vandalized with obscene drawings on the windows. The vehicles did not appear damaged since the drawings were on the glass and appeared to be easily removable.

– An officer at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday saw a male walking in the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue that appeared to be a juvenile. The officer stopped the male for a possible curfew violation, but determined he was 19 years old.

– An anonymous caller at 9:56 p.m. Tuesday reported an abandoned vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, which is private property. The business was advised of its options the previous day.

– Officers assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Third Street with a warrant check. Officers spoke to a resident of the home and it was determined the person wanted was in the basement. The person met officers at the top of the basement stairs and he was taken into custody by deputies. The report listed Austin J. Brown of 10244 W. Pine Lake Road, as the arrestee wanted on a warrant.

– Police checked for a wanted person at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at residence in the 200 block of Park Avenue, but did not locate the person.

– An officer investigating a junk motor vehicle at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of East Fourth Street requested a second officer respond for a unknown noise disturbance after hearing several people yelling further up the street. Several people were loading an ATV into a trailer who advised they yelled back and forth with occupants of a vehicle driving through the area, but there was no problem. As for the junk motor vehicle, someone had complained about it. The vehicle was located and an attempt was made to contact the owner. A relative was contacted and the vehicle was tagged with a notice.

– Some recovered property was brought to the police station at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday and the property owner was contacted to retrieve it.

– A dog was reported at large at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Ohio Avenue, but wasn’t found.

– An officer at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday stopped to check the well-being of a female walking with a male along West Wilson Street after she was observed stopped and hunched over. The couple advised she had become ill at work and they were walking home a few blocks away. They did not need further assistance.

– A juvenile was initially reported missing at 4:38 p.m. Tuesday after he had not returned home from school to the 400 block of Benton Road. Upon arrival at the residence, police learned the father of the juvenile had come to the station and said he located his son.

– A woman at the Shell Gas station, 2203 E. State St., reported at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday that a man was loitering around the business asking for money and cigarettes. He was described as wearing a hoodie and jeans and was supposedly walking back and forth to Rite Aid. He was pointed out by an employee walking west on State Street. An officer spoke with the man who was waiting for a prescription from the drug store next door. He denied asking for money and said some derogatory things towards the gas station that reported him. He was told not to go back to Shell or face trespassing charges.

– Police responded to a parking complaint at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Sixth Street. A man advised another tenant of the apartment does not have a vehicle but allows a family member to use the parking area. He was told to contact his landlord.

Lisbon

– The fire department responded to vehicle fire on Trinity Church Road at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. Yvonna Rankin, Steubenville Pike, was driving when her Dodge Durango caught fire in the engine compartment, causing an estimated $500 in damage. No one was injured.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Timothy Carl, Beeson Mill Road, Leetonia, reported at 7:34 a.m. Tuesday someone had been letting the air out of his tires at his home.

– Colton Bertolette, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 7:23 p.m. Monday he heard automatic gunfire in the area. Deputies checked the area, but did not hear any gunfire.

– A possible domestic dispute was reported on Churchill Road at 7:40 p.m. Monday. Deputies spoke to Sharon Rayo, who said she and her boyfriend, Raymond Boso had been in an argument and he pushed her down. She had left and declined to press charges.

– Sherry Davis, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported at 9:18 p.m. Monday she was pushed out of bed by her husband, David Merriman, and she hit the dresser. Both were drinking and arguing. She signed a refusal to prosecute form.

– Mark Morgan, Bayard Road, Minerva, reported at 7:58 a.m. Monday he heard a cracking type sound at the front of his trailer and went out to find his neighbor, Nathan Brownfield, sitting in a lawn chair shooting a “high powered BB gun” at Morgan’s trailer. Morgan showed deputies two holes in the vinyl siding on the front side of the trailer and four holes on the south end of the trailer. He claimed the holes on the south end happened when Brownfield walked across the street to another neighbor’s house, Jay Dunlap, sat on Dunlap’s porch and shot. Before deputies spoke to the neighbors to get their side, Morgan told deputies all three of them – Brownfield, Dunlap and Tracy Thomas – are professional liars. He also claimed he allowed a friend of theirs to stay there and he used all of Morgan’s spoons for heating drugs. Deputies went across the street and spoke to Tracy Thomas, who said everytime Morgan sees them outside he calls them obscene names and causes problems. She claimed no one in either house owns any guns, especially not a BB gun. Morgan declined to give deputies the spoons.

Highway Patrol

– Justin D. Pitts, 29, Railroad Street, Hanoverton, was westbound on Dyke Road in Unity Township at 1:15 a.m. Sunday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– John W. Wickersham, 65, Augusta, Ohio, was westbound on Teegarden Road in Salem Township at 10:47 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch and a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control.

– April L. Hardy, 40, Alliance, was southbound on Rochester Road in Knox Township at 5:55 a.m. Monday and went off the west side into a mailbox and a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

– Aaron Collins, Lisbon Street, reported at 3:13 p.m. Monday kids shot at his windows with BB guns the night before.

– Someone reported at 5:38 p.m. Monday two cars were parked across from one another on Duquesne Street. Police checked but the cars were gone.

East Palestine

– At 8:32 p.m. Sunday John Young reported that he was talking on the phone with his dad that lives at 300 W. North Ave. and his dad told him that Brett Young was there causing a fight and then the line became disconnected. Police went to the home and found that Brett had already left and no physical violence took place. At 10:42 p.m. Monday police were called back to the home Brett to be removed upon the request of his father. Police told the elder Young to leave, which he did.

– David Tomchik, Howell Road, reported at 7:11 p.m. Sunday someone was riding a four-wheeler on his property and in the area. Police checked but did not see anyone riding there.

– A woman reported at 12:43 p.m. Monday a tree branch appeared to be falling down on East Main Street.

– Allen Moore, West Martin Street, reported at 12:48 p.m. Monday a dark green Ford Ranger with Pennsylvania plates was parked on Thomas Street near West Clark Street and posing a traffic hazard.

– A woman reported loud noise on East Clark Street at 4:57 p.m. Monday but refused to give the exact location.

– Robert D. Parks, East Martin Street, was arrested on a warrant through Columbiana County at 5:26 p.m. Monday at his home.

Lisbon

– A clerk at Smith Oil reported a motorist drove off without paying for gas at 4:08 p.m. Friday. Police located the vehicle at the Circle K and spoke to Ben Kuhlen, who said he paid with his card but would go back and clear things up, which he did.

– A caller reported three boys were in an unoccupied garage on McKinley Avenue at 12:53 p.m. Saturday. Police arrived just as the three were exiting the garage, and they told the officer the football they had been tossing around went through an open hole and they were just retrieving it. The property owner was contacted and he determined nothing was missing and also reported that one of the boys was friends with his daughter.

– Billie Bussard, North Market Street, reported Saturday the front of her vehicle was damaged and the license plate was missing. She said the only place she had been with the vehicle recently was at the Save A Lot.

– A report was received of three people in a pickup truck at the BP station at 2:41 a.m. Monday, and the caller said they were rearranging the load in the bed but he believed they were planning to rob the gas station. The truck was gone by the time police arrived, and the clerk reported everything was fine.

– A report was received of a dog that had been struck by a vehicle on state Route 154 at 7 p.m. Friday, and police arrived to find Brent Rose tending to the injured dog. Unable to locate the owner, police took the dog to the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic after it agreed to treat the dog.

Salem

– A man in the 200 block of West Wilson Street reported at 12:22 p.m. Tuesday that he’s been receiving text messages about tires being damaged in the area and claimed a neighbor was saying he did it and was making accusations that he told people, which he said he didn’t say anything like that and didn’t do any of it. An officer talked with the female and advised her to stop any type of communication with him and to stay away from him. The man and his girlfriend were told to have no communication with the neighbor. The officer advised if it continues, information will be sent to the prosecutor for possible charges.

– A woman in the 200 block of West Fourth Street reported at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday that she received a tax notice from the state of California and she never lived there. The notice advised it was for the year 2013. She talked with a female who told her to fax her a number of papers and personal information and to go online and look up another number to sign in. An officer gave her the police report and told her to provide the police report number to the female and advise her that no further information would be forthcoming and if there was a problem, the female could contact her attorney. The papers were some type of statement with an account on it but no address where the woman would have stayed to owe any money for taxation in California. The woman said she did have an attorney to help if necessary.

– A man from the 200 block of South Union Avenue reported at 8:31 a.m. Tuesday that his son came home between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Monday while he was in the bathroom, went upstairs and got a box and a bag, then left and got into a vehicle out front that picked him up. He left without saying anything. The grandmother saw him leave. A missing/runaway juvenile report was filed. The son had come to the police station at 7:16 p.m. Monday and reported he was kicked out of his residence. He was told he can’t be kicked out because he’s still a minor. He was told his options and the officer spoke with a parent via telephone.

– Loud music was reported at 12:19 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of West Fourth Street. The resident was told to keep the music down or he’ll receive a citation.

– An officer leaving a residence in the 1600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 8:43 p.m. Monday saw what appeared to be a tool or instrument in the driveway. A meter belonging to Columbia Gas was found. A message was left for the company and the item was placed in the police lost and found.

– A resident in the 1400 block of Shady Lane reported at 7:57 p.m. Monday that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took change from the center console.

– A woman in the 700 block of West Wilson Street reported at 4:12 p.m. Monday that a person known to her has some of her property and now is refusing to return it. Officers were unable to make contact with the person, but the person responded to the police station and left the property for the woman.

– A parking complaint was reported at 3:49 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of East Third Street, but no violation was found.

East Liverpool

– Brandy A. Cottrill, 25, no address listed, reported taking a cab to a friend’s house and accidentally giving the driver three $20 bills instead of three $1 bills. When she realized her mistake after the driver left, Cottrill went to Tri-State Cab where she told officers the dispatcher refused to call the driver in. Officers spoke to the driver, who said Cottrill did not give him $60, and a check of his cab did not turn up the money.

– Joshua P. Robb, 27, no address listed, was charged with theft after a Giant Eagle employee reported he exited the store with a sandwich in his pocket for which he had not paid.

– Noel Hasson, 51, reported she was trying to get a resident of the Blossom Hill Apartments to sign a paper when the resident slammed the door on her hand. Hasson sought medical treatment, and charges are pending.

– Amanda Elteringham, 22, no address listed, reported stopping at a home on Saint George Street to pick up her child when a man she knows kept her from getting into her car while his new girlfriend stole $160 from her purse.

– Macelyn Manley, Wilbert Avenue, reported a man pried open a rear door and entered her apartment, where he tried to rape her while she was sleeping in her bedroom. Officers questioned what she was wearing while sleeping, since she was fully clothed, including knee-high zipped boots, and Manley said those were the clothes she had on while sleeping. Manley reported the window was open because she had yelled for help, and the man fled. She described the man as small, black and wearing a black hoodie depicting something in memorial to Zane Carter.

– Officers accompanied a Children’s Services representative to a First Avenue home to remove a child who was placed in protective custody.

– Terry J. Collins, 33, Lisbon Street, reported her daughter has been continuously harassed by other juveniles by social media and messages. She has tried to speak to the other juveniles’ parents about their children’s behavior, Collins told officers. She was advised to speak with the juvenile prosecutor about filing charges.

– Avondale Street parents were served papers from Children’s Services, with no other details reported.

– Zachary A. Petty, 18, no address listed, reported he was walking on Walnut Street when he was assaulted by a man he knows. Petty sought treatment at the emergency room for injuries to his arm.

– Mary Moss, Monaca Street, reported her storage shed entered and various tools stolen.

– Jeffrey D. Bryant, Haywood Street, reported his shed broken into and a dirt bike taken. Tracks led toward Wilbert Avenue.

– Charles E. McComas, Bradshaw Avenue, reported the window busted out of his van. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside the vehicle.

Salineville

– Around 5:30 p.m. March 18, a yellow 2001 Ford Escape belonging to Katrina Willis was found abandoned at a West Main Street residence. The property’s owner was contacted and he asked that it be towed. It was.

FIRE CALLS

Lisbon

– The fire department responded to a report of a low-hanging wire on Churchill Road at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Police

County Sheriff

– Deputies responded Sunday for a welfare check at the home of Sherry Toot, state Route 45, Lisbon, who was unable to get into her home. She was helped into her home and moments later her brother arrived.

– A deputy noticed a dirt bike on Rosebud Mining’s property on state Route 45 with no one around and called Baker’s Towing to remove it. After the bike was loaded up, Garrett Mays arrived and said he had been riding it and its chain broke so he had to leave it there. It was owned by Cody Riddle of Rogers, who was advised he must bring the title to the sheriff’s office and pay the tow company in order for the bike to be released. Dispatcher Randy Schneider advised he had made contact with Riddle’s mother and told her to contact the office.

– An employee of Dollar General, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported Saturday a woman placed some items in her purse and left the store. The employee had the woman stand outside for a few moments but then had to go back into the store to cash out registers and, when deputies arrived, the woman was gone. The employee called later telling deputies the woman had returned the items and gave the name of a person living on West Washington Street. Deputies contacted the woman and reported that charges are pending.

– Jack Redmond, Union Ridge Road, Rogers, reported his mailbox destroyed overnight Friday for the third or fourth time. He has no idea who is doing it, and set the value at $40.

– Shelda Keefer, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported Saturday she was asleep at her home when she was awakened by her boyfriend, William VanDyke II, who grabbed her by the shirt and assaulted her. He was later charged with domestic violence.

– Mark Berresford, Speidel Road, East Rochester, told deputies Sunday his vehicle was parked in the Damascus Friends Church parking lot when he found damage to the rear bumper. A witness reported a red Jeep Liberty struck his car and left the scene, and provided a license plate number to Berresford. Deputies contacted the owner of the Jeep, Rhonda Jones, state Route 14, North Benton, who said she was unaware she had struck another vehicle.

– Deputies were dispatched to the Salem police station to meet with Kristen Taylor, East Mill Street, Alliance, who reported being assaulted by a female she knows while at a residence on Conkle Road in Salem Township. Madison Thomas, no age or address listed, was charged with assault and taken into custody.

– Todd Higgins, Austintown, reported he was at Forest Lanes in Hanover Township Saturday with friends when a disagreement occurred. One of his friends, Michael Snyder, no age or address listed, threw a rock through the back window of the vehicle Higgins was driving. Snyder was charged with criminal damaging.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called at 9:43 p.m. Saturday to Daisy Lane for a report of Morgan R. Cox, 29, state Route 45, Lisbon, attempting to break into a house where his girlfriend and child were located. As they arrived, officers reported seeing Cox standing on the front porch, dripping blood from his hand, with a broken window nearby and several people screaming and yelling. Once an officer was able to hook one handcuff on Cox’s wrist, he reportedly began to struggle and had to be forced to the ground and dry-stunned several times with a Taser because he was fighting. Officers said Cox complained that he was not bleeding until they took him to the ground. An ambulance was called, and Cox was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital.There, he reportedly told the security guard he was going to kill him. At the house, Rebecca L. Ammon, 29, Steubenville, told officers she was visiting her cousin when Cox showed up, demanding his child, but she did not want him to take the child because Cox was drunk. She told police they shut and locked the door and he began pounding on the window, until it broke, then threatened to kill her. This was just before officers arrived, she reported. Cox was charged with domestic violence and menacing and transported to the county jail.

– Brandon E. Montgomery, 28, Mingo Junction, was stopped for traffic on St. Clair Avenue Saturday when his vehicle was struck from the rear by a vehicle driven by Thomas A. Groff, 32, Clairton, PA. Groff was charged with assured clear distance.

St. Clair Township

– Thomas E. Powell, 20, Duke-Vodrey Road, was charged Saturday with petty theft after reportedly taking a pen knife and a BB gun from the shelves at Walmart, using the knife to open the gun, which he then concealed, leaving the store without paying for either. He was confronted outside by store personnel.

Salem

– Police responded to the 400 block of Mullins Street and arrested Nicholas P. Crookston, 49 Oak St., Leetonia, for domestic violence. Police responded to a report of a woman covered in blood and located her beside a residence. She said she had been assaulted by her estranged husband who then fled the area. She was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries and police responded to the 1300 block of Elberon Avenue to speak to the husband. He still had blood on his hands from the alleged assault and he was charged and transported to the county jail.

– Police responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 3:43 p.m. Saturday for a report of an elderly man who appeared confused or lost. Police checked the area but were unable to locate him.

– Police responded to the 2500 block of Lexington at 1:03 a.m. Saturday regarding a domestic violence call and several witnesses said they saw a father grab his son by the arm, lift him and shove him against a wall. An officer spoke with the child who was not injured. The father advised he did not shove his son and was trying to get him home and he was not listening. Statements were taken and police attempted to contact the county prosecutor but the call was not returned. The child stayed in a separate apartment with his father’s girlfriend for the evening and an investigation is pending with possible charges after a review by the prosecutor’s office.

– Police responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 12:54 a.m. Sunday in reference to several juveniles throwing rocks and cursing patrons. Police observed two people flee on foot from behind the bar and located and identified them. One was a juvenile who was taken into custody for unruliness and the other was sent home. The juvenile was transported to the station and released to his mother and his case will be forwarded to the juvenile officer.

– At 1:58 a.m. Sunday, police observed two male juveniles on bikes in the 300 block of West State Street. Both were taken into custody for unruly offenses and one was charged with an additional offense. They were taken to the police department and released to parents.

– At 11:38 p.m. Saturday, while on patrol an officer noticed a large amount of smoke in the southwest part of the city with the strongest odor of burning plastic in the 900 block of Liberty Street. The fire department was notified.

– At 11:03 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1800 block of Cleveland Street for a domestic situation in progress. A husband and wife had conflicting statements and both were advised of dealing with the situation.

– Police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 10 p.m. and spoke to a person in the parking lot who reported exchanging words with another motorist a short time earlier. The officer affirmed it was road rage and advised the person to refrain from such actions in the future and he said he understood.

– Police responded to a loud music complaint in the 400 block of Aetna Street at 8:14 p.m. Saturday and the man did not want to hear about the complaint. He said he would speak to the chief on Monday about being harassed by police. He was warned several times about his language. He did turn the music down.

– A complainant in the 800 block of East Sixth Street advised police at 6:37 p.m. Saturday that several juveniles were trespassing through his property. Police were unable to locate them.

– At person came on station at 6:02 p.m. Saturday with a bank card left at an ATM in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue Police contacted the card owner and the person said he would pick it up.

Perry Township

– Police were requested to assist a Salem unit with a domestic situation at 11:17 p.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of Cleveland Street and stood by while information was obtained by Salem police. No arrest was made and information is to be sent to the county prosecutor.

– At 5:25 p.m. Saturday, police assisted Salem police in locating a person in the 1300 block of Elberon Avenue. Salem police arrested the person for an incident in the city.

– At 2:48 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street for a report of alleged threats made by an adult toward a juvenile after the juvenile made a comment to the adult. The juvenile and parent of the juvenile were advised to cease commenting to the other adult and that a report would be on file if the threats continued.

– At 10:50 a.m. Friday, police received a report of a reckless driver in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue in the northbound lane. Police checked the area and surrounding streets but were unable to locate the orange Subaru that was reported to be operating recklessly.

– Police were advised of a reckless driver in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:47 a.m. Friday. Police located the silver vehicle Buick in the Circle K and the man was advised of the complaint. He said he just left work and was tired, which may have caused him to drive in a reckless manner.

– At 1:46 a.m. Friday, police responded with Salem police to the 1300 block of Elberon Avenue in reference to intoxicated people needing to be removed. Police spoke with all the people and the person they wanted removed called for a ride and police stood by until he left. No violence or threats were reported.

– Police responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 6:55 p.m. Thursday for a report of a wire across the road. Police located the wire which had been removed from the road and directed the fire department to the location. A tree had fallen across the wires at a residence and knocked the phone-cable wire loose from the residence. The fire department determined there was no hazard.

– At 6:09 p.m. Thursday, police were dispatched for a possible OVI in a white vehicle heading westbound toward Alliance from Salem. Police patrolled the area but did not make contact with the vehicle.

– At 1:14 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the area of state Route 45 and Golf Club Drive for a report of a male walking southbound attempting to hitch hike. The person was located and checked for warrants and finding none he was warned about hitch-hiking and continued on his way.

– Police received a complaint at 10 a.m. Thursday for a suspicious vehicle with a “possible lab” in it called in by the Salem police and advising it was sitting in the vacant parking lot in the 1200 block of East Pidgeon Road. An officer spoke to the man there who was working for Global Wireless Solutions out of Virginia. The man was identified and had no warrants. He advised he would be in the area the next couple of days if any other complaints were received.

– Police responded to the 2000 block of Countryside Drive at 7:06 a.m. Thursday where the complainant advised unknown people had painted obscene graffiti on her driveway.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Gretchen Wells, Clarkson Road, Rogers, reported at 7:14 p.m. Tuesday a man was sitting in the middle of Clarkson Road, possibly injured and wearing a red jacket. Deputies checked the area, but did not find anyone.

Highway Patrol

– Kyle Jon Franzen, 56, Westview Drive, Salem, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in an Ohio Department of Transportation vehicle pulling a wood chipper in an active work zone in Hanover Township at 10:45 a.m. Monday and was struck from behind by Reginald Coleman, 61, Rose Drive, Lisbon. Coleman was cited for assured clear distance.

– Devon G. Dunn, 20, Passlane Drive, Lisbon, was westbound on Mountz Road in Knox Township at noon Friday when an eastbound vehicle went left of center causing Dunn to go off the right side of the road while attempting to avoid a collision. Once off the road Dunn struck a plastic drain pipe, a phone box and a rock. The other vehicle continued on.

Columbiana

– Police assisted the county sheriff’s office with a call on Madison Drive at midnight Tuesday.

– Stephen Philippi, 42, Canton, was cited for improper display and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 9:56 a.m. Tuesday. He was also arrested on a charge of possessing burnt copper wire and taken to the county jail.

– A Quincy Avenue woman reported at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday kids were riding bicycles and doing wheelies up and down the street.

– Police recovered homemade drug paraphernalia found at a West Salem Street home. The items were found by the child’s parents who called police.

– Police told a North Middle Street resident to put out an open burning fire at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday.

– A woman reported at 8:43 p.m. Tuesday someone was sitting in a blue Trailblazer that was running in the Family Dollar parking lot for the last couple of hours. Police checked and found the driver was checking lists for buying baby gifts and there were no problems.

East Palestine

– Richard Fristik, 48, Park Avenue, and Jeremy Fristik, 28, Park Avenue, were both charged with domestic violence at 9:45 p.m. March 16 on Thomas Street.

– Lee Miller, 24, Howell Avenue, was cited for driving under suspension and warned for speeding following a traffic stop on Latta Road at midnight Monday.

– Jessica Meckler, East Clark Street, reported threats at 4:33 p.m. Monday.

– John Martin, Peppercorn Drive, reported at 4:51 p.m. Monday kids were playing in one of the wash bays at a car wash on North Sumner Street. Police checked but the kids were no longer there.

– A man reported at 10:28 p.m. Monday there were two suspicious people near the football field on West Grant Street and believed there was drug activity going on there. Police checked but found no one.

Salem

– The owner of an East Fifth Street rental unit reported at 5:08 p.m. Tuesday that sometime in the past two months someone had stolen a woodburner and stove from the front porch of the home.

– An officer responded to a 2100 block Merle Road home at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday where the resident reported finding damaged property and evidence of someone having attempted to force entry into the home without success.

– Officers responded to an Arch Street home at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday where the resident reported her daughter was being harassed by classmates.

– Alpino B. Raneri Jr., 36, 961 W. Wilson St. C, was charged with fifth-degree felony domestic violence after officers responded to the home at 2:58 a.m. Wednesday where the resident reported Raneri, who had previously resided there with her and still had his name on the lease, entered the home that day and broke household items and grabbed her by the arms and neck during an argument. Raneri was located at a West Perry Street home by Perry Township police and transported to the Salem station.

Perry Township

– Police responded at 4:38 a.m. Wednesday to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue for vehicle/deer accident. Damage was caused to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

East Liverpool

– An officer responded to the lower entrance of Thompson Park for a report of a woman possibly “shooting up,” where he reported finding Julie A. Underwood, 38, Maine Boulevard, slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. She appeared dazed and disoriented and admitted having used heroin and crack cocaine, according to reports. The officer found a syringe between the console and driver’s seat and several other drug-related items and heroin packets in the vehicle. Underwood was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

– Willis Tisdale III, 50, Henry Avenue, was found unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle on St. Clair Avenue after he attempted to pull from Smith Oil. Paramedics were called and, after trying unsuccessfully to revive him without medication, administered an injection of Narcan. Officers reported he immediately came back to consciousness. He was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital and the vehicle, registered to Cecenya M. Douglas, 18th Street, Wellsville, was towed from the scene. Tisdale was cited for OVI.

– Officers responded to a West Ninth Street residence for an overdose death, where they found Tri-County ambulance on the scene. Paramedics had revived the woman with an injection of Narcan, according to reports. Her boyfriend told officers she had gone for a walk, came home and passed out. He placed her in the bathtub and his mother called 911. No drug paraphernalia was found in the home. The woman was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital. No charges were reported.

– Lauren Stewart, no address listed, reported purchasing a stolen laptop from a man for $100. She showed officers a photo of the man on her phone, and they recognized him from previous dealings. The owner of the laptop, Abagail O’Rourke, told officers the laptop had been stolen from her friend’s house in New Manchester, W.Va. Her friend has a child with the man in question, who had been at the house the night the laptop came up missing, and the next day had it on an internet site for sale. Information was provided to the prosecutor for possible charges.

– Rhonda K. Davis, 34, Dakota Street, reported her mother-in-law keeps driving past her home and calling Davis’ children to her car. She wanted it documented.

– Officers responded to Ogden Street for a man passed out for drugs and found him in the bathroom, wiping off his face. The man admitted having snorted a stamp of heroin. While there, officers were called to a Fourth Street address for an elderly woman who was down in an elevator. The woman was the man’s aunt, who had been with him at the Ogden Street address. She was transported to the hospital.

– An investigation was launched into reports of a sexual assault on a juvenile after officers responded to East Liverpool City Hospital and spoke to the child’s mother.

– Lifeteam ambulance personnel notified police about conditions of a St. Clair Avenue home where they had picked up a 95-year-old woman who is staying there with the residents. Police said they reported the house is in deplorable condition, with seven or eight cages containing animals, feces all over the floor, dead mice and rotten food in evidence. Adult Protection Services was notified by police.

– Amber N. Smith, 23, no address listed, reported she was working as a waitress at Frannick’s when she was accused of stealing and was searched, as was her purse. When nothing was found, her $69 in tip money was taken, Smith reported, saying the owner’s son has been threatening her.

– Kathleen Messenger, Avondale Street, reported she returned home to find the front door window broken out, apparently in an attempt to enter, but no entry was gained. An officer checked the house but nothing was found missing.

– Officers responded to a Sophia Street residence for reports of a man assaulting a woman but found that Lamar Coles, 24, and his girlfriend had been arguing over money, with no physical contact. Coles had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

– Following two complaints over two different days of loud music from an apartment at Riverview Towers, police charged resident Venita Tschappatt, 55, with an unreasonable noise violation.

Wellsville

– Walt Sloan, 14th Street, reported at 12:25 p.m. March 15 his vehicle was parked in the area of Clark and Aten when it was backed into by a vehicle driven by Kerri Cox. The hood on the Cavalier was crushed in, while no damage was observed to the other vehicle.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– John Vargo, state Route 45, Salem, reported at 12:43 a.m. Sunday he had his friend, Laura Coffman, over and her ex-husband, David Coffman, pulled up and began banging on his door, yelling and wiggling the door knob. He reportedly was trying to entice Vargo to open the door and fight. Coffman left before deputies arrived.

– Elizabeth Dahl, Reynolds Street, East Liverpool, reported at 2:05 a.m. Monday a 15-year-old on state Route 45, Wellsville, was threatening suicide. The girl told deputies she was having some problems with a boy. The boyfriend’s mother told deputies the girl told her son she was hearing voices and planned to harm herself with a rope or a cord. The girl was sent to a hospital for evaluation.

– Heather Kirby, Goshen Road, Salem, reported at 1:37 p.m. Sunday she saw a man walking with a large firearm in the area of Cherry Fork and Beeson Mill Roads. Deputies checked the area, but did not see him.

– Sara Easton, Hammond School Road, Wellsville, reported at 1:12 p.m. Sunday she has been receiving harassing calls and texts from an unknown number. Deputies called the number and spoke with Nathan Puckett, who said he and Easton have had an on again, off again, relationship, but he will cease contacting her.

-Stephanie Rhodes, Woodsdale Road, Salem, reported a suspicious vehicle at 6:15 a.m. Saturday. Deputies found the vehicle with a for sale sign on it and called the number. The vehicle broke down and the tow truck was en route.

– Andrew L. Myers, 35, Knox School Road, Homeworth, was riding an ATV and was circling a tree in his yard at 12:26 a.m. Saturday, when he apparently took the turn a bit too hard and the ATV flipped upside down. Myers was transported to Mercy Hospital in Canton.

Lisbon

-Several hangup 911 calls were forwarded from the sheriff’s office at 10:41 p.m. Friday and they came from the vicinity of the Days Inn/BP station. Police checked the area and parking lots, including Shale Tavern and county Mental Health Center complex and along the road, but they did not find anyone in distress.

– Aaron Seidner reported Wednesday his girlfriend was using another person’s credit card. He learned of this after a package from AT&T arrived and she said it was for her. He checked the order for the last numbers on the credit card and they did not match her card.

– Police were called to the county Mental Health Center at 8:53 a.m. Friday while a client was awaiting transportation by ambulance to a local hospital for medical/mental evaluation.

– An anonymous caller reported there was a domestic dispute at the apartments on Moore Street at 9:14 a.m. Saturday. Police spoke to a couple, who said they had been arguing and in the process some items were broken.

– Helen Everett reported she had been at the county Department of Job and Family Services on Thursday and had to make copies of personal information. After making copies she misplaced the originals and they could not be found at the JFS. She wanted a report on file.

-A pickup truck belonging to the Mount Joy Mennonite Church and driven by Sheldon R. Smith of Columbiana struck a gas pump at the Circle K at 3:46 p.m. Saturday.

– Police were called to the First Christian Church at 3:31 p.m. Saturday in regard to a 15-year-old boy passed out in a pew. The youth was breathing but appeared pale. Police remained until an ambulance arrived to transport the boy to a local hospital.

– Rebecca Hill, Apple Grove apartments, called for police at 6:20 p.m. Saturday to report someone breaking into her apartment and stealing items, such as Irish cards, birthday cards, cat tokens, family tokens and Halloween candy.

-An anonymous caller reported there was a possible drunk driver entering town on state Route 164 from the south at 9:40 p.m. Sunday. The driver pulled over on his own and was found not to be drunk. He did have a broken tail light and was let off with a warning.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 12:44 a.m. Sunday a group of give kids were running through yards on North Main Street yelling and making noise. Police check the area but did not find the kids.

-A man reported at 11:28 a.m. Sunday a woman in a car at the Circle K was tapping on the window of the vehicle attempting to indicate that she needed help so he followed the vehicle outside of town and it pulled into a business. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– A woman reported at 3:19 p.m. Sunday four men were going door to door on Bittersweet Drive and she didn’t know if they had a solicitor’s permit. Police found the men were distributing religious material.

– A man reported at 7:55 p.m. Sunday there were dogs barking on South Elm Street. Police contacted the dogs’ owner about the complaint.

East Palestine

– Anna Stewart, North Walnut Street, reported at 5:30 p.m. Saturday her ex-boyfriend kicked her out of the home on North Market Street. Police spoke to Stewart and the man. They were able to resolve the problem.

– Police were called to an East North Avenue home at 7:22 p.m. Sunday for what turned out to be a verbal disagreement between husband and wife.

– Someone reported losing two brown colored dogs at 5:37 p.m. Friday.

– A Circle K employee reported at 6:44 p.m. Friday a man was trying to return items that were not purchased at the store. Police went to the store but the man already left.

– John Myers, East Martin Street, reported at 9:34 a.m. Saturday there were unauthorized charges on his bank account.

– Dawn Frazier, South Pleasant Drive, reported at 1:50 p.m. Saturday her vehicle was struck by another vehicle on North Market Street. Marsha Guy, Carmel Achor Road, was cited for improper starting and backing.

– A Sparkle Market employee reported at 9:19 p.m. Saturday a group of kids were climbing on some trailers at the old school and yelling at people on South Market Street. Police told the kids to stop climbing on trailers.

– Beth Bland reported at 11:57 p.m. Saturday two boys were making a lot of noise in the Presbyterian Church parking lot. Police checked and found the boys had gotten a football stuck in a tree and one had climbed up to get it and almost fell. Police told the boys to go home and not worry about getting the football at that time.

– Brent Wymer, 20, address not listed, was cited for no motor cycle endorsement and warned for being at the park after hours following a traffic stop on Park Drive at 12:33 a.m. Sunday.

– Christina Minger, address not listed, reported at 1:37 p.m. Sunday her ex was not allowing her court-ordered visitation of her children.

– Kevin Conroy, address not listed, reported at 1:42 p.m. Sunday kids were smashing dirt clumps and rocks on the new library parking lot along North Walnut Street. Police checked but did not see the kids.

– James Reich, 43, East Martin Street, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on Bacon Avenue at 5:25 p.m. Sunday.

– Carlee Biegenwald, 17, Chain School Road, was cited for speeding at 7 p.m. Sunday on Bacon Avenue.

– An East North Avenue man reported at 7:22 p.m. Sunday his neighbors were having a marital dispute.

Salem

– A suspicious person was reported at 7:11 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue, but wasn’t found.

– An officer was flagged down by a passerby at 6 a.m. Monday in the area of Superior Avenue and East Seventh Street regarding an intoxicated man standing near East Seventh Street and Superior Avenue. Police checked the area and surrounding streets, but no one was found.

– An officer on patrol at 3:19 a.m. Monday investigated an occupied suspicious vehicle in the Family Dollar parking lot on North Lincoln Avenue. The occupants were identified and said they were waiting for a friend.

– A woman from Newgarden Avenue came to the police station at 12:12 a.m. Monday to report being harassed by telephone by her ex-boyfriend. An officer contacted the male and told him to cease contact.

– A man on Goshen Road reported a civil issue at 9:46 p.m. Sunday. He wanted a report filed.

– Officers responded at 5:08 p.m. Sunday to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Fourth Street for a report of a suspicious person with a book bag. Officers located a female sitting along the sidewalk who reported having a verbal altercation with her boyfriend who resides nearby. She left to prevent the argument from escalating. There were belongings she forgot inside, but the boyfriend was no longer home. Police tried to make contact with the boyfriend and left him a message about the property.

– A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported at 3:47 p.m. Sunday that a man put gas in his vehicle and left without paying.

Perry Township

– A man from Beechwood Road came to the station at 4:36 p.m. Sunday to speak with an officer about an unwanted person. He was told it’s a civil issue and he needed to file for an eviction.

– Police responded at 1:35 p.m. Sunday to the 1900 block of Newgarden Avenue for a report of a dog struck in the road. The dog died and was removed from the roadway.

– A Canfield man reported at 9:18 p.m. Saturday that personal property was taken from his vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of Benton Road. He called and reported he found the missing property.

– Police on patrol at 6:20 p.m. Saturday located a vehicle parked on Pine Lake Road at Egypt Road and then found a man walking on the closed portion of Pine Lake Road. He was told he was trespassing and would have to leave. He left without incident.

– Township police assisted Salem Police at 9:37 p.m. Friday on a follow-up investigation with a possible overdose in the city, but officers were unable to make contact with anyone at an address on Benton Road.

– A loud domestic dispute was reported at 9:30 p.m. Friday at an apartment on West Perry Street, but police found there was no domestic. A woman in an apartment was yelling at another person over the phone which caused people to believe there was an altercation inside the apartment.

– A spokesman for Campf’s Service Company in the 1800 block of Depot Road called at 5:58 p.m. Friday regarding unknown persons trespassing on private property in the 1800 block. The matter is under investigation.

– A woman from Hampton Place reported at 3:13 p.m. Friday that she was picking up trash on the side of Allen Road and found trash containing information from a person’s identity.

East Liverpool

– Responding Sunday morning to Cadmus Street for a 911 call, officers spoke with Lucas P. Kroesen, 24, state Route 170, East Liverpool, who said he was asleep when Roni L. Wilke, 21, of that address, came into the bedroom and tried to wake him, asking questions about his cellphone. He told her he had no idea what she was talking about and tried to leave the bedroom, but Wilke would not allow him to leave, according to reports. She clawed at his face and neck and threw a fan down the stairs, after which Kroesen was able to escape and go to a neighbor’s, from where he called police. Wilke was charged with domestic violence.

Liverpool Township

– A cashier at Kwik King, Lisbon Street, sent an officer a text saying Chelsey D. Beebout, 28, Oakwood Street, had taken a bottle of vodka that she hid underneath her shirt after paying for $5.52 worth of items with an EBT card. She was charged with theft.

St. Clair Township

– An employee of Auto Zone in Calcutta reported that Tony L. Hilton, 35, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, had come into the store and tried to return gaskets for which the warranty had expired. When he was refused, Hilton reportedly walked through the store and the employee could hear packages being torn open. He found empty packages laying nearby and asked Hilton about them, at which time Hilton ran out the door, dropping two items on the sidewalk as he ran, according to reports. He fled into the nearby woods, where township and city police officers searched, finally seeing him being picked up on St. Clair Avenue in a vehicle. The truck was stopped and Hilton was reportedly found hiding on the floor. He was charged with theft.

– An officer reported seeing a vehicle southbound on East Liverpool Road without a front or rear license plate that turned south onto state Route 11. When stopped, the vehicle had a license plate stuck in the rear window but the driver, Bryce A. Minto, 20, Oak Street, East Liverpool, was unable to provide a driver’s license. Both he and his passenger, Justin Buckel, 23m East Liverpool Road, East Liverpool, began acting nervously and reaching for things in the vehicle, according to reports. A pill bottle found outside the vehicle contained marijuana, which Buckel reportedly admitted was his. Minto was cited for improper display of a license plate, and Buckel with possession of marijuana. Buckel also had an outstanding warrant for petty theft.

Salineville

– Buckeye Water District Superintendent Todd Brown reported Feb. 17 the pole building housing the water holding system collapsed into the pool due to heavy snow and extreme wind conditions.

– Police received a referral on March 11 from the Columbiana County Job and Family Services regarding a boy with a handprint on his back. Pictures of the injuries were reviewed. The handprint was detemined to be from a suspected girl, who is also the victim’s cousin.

– Police made contact around 5:30 p.m. March 11 with a West Street homeowner about an abandoned car left on his property. The homeowner said he asked his former tenant to remove the car back in December 2015. The owner, after further conversation, had requested the vehicle be towed from his property, to which it was done.

– While on patrol around 4:45 p.m. March 12, police observed Tammy Johnson driving west on McGavern Road. An officer was behind the vehicle Johnson drove, and saw she ran a stop sign. An officer ran her social security number, which came back as a suspended driver. Johnson was cited for a stop sign violation and driving under suspension.

– Police received a complaint at 4:45 p.m March 15 about Kevin Morrison storing junk vehicles on a property on East Main Street and Water Street. While on patrol, officers saw several junk vehicles at the location. Officers spoke to Morrison about the vehicles and asked him to move them saying the cars are an eyesore to the town.

– A Salineville resident reported around noon Wednesday his soon-to-be ex-wife was calling him and others connected to him. He said the calls are unwanted and read an officer a standard dissolution paper, which indicated the parties were not to contact each other. The woman in question was called by police and advised not to make any further contact, to which she denied making any calls.

– Police were called around 7:27 p.m. Wednesday to Kiwanis Park regarding a dog bit on a 10-year-old child. Officers were met by Nicol Richter, East Main Street, who said her pitbull bit a juvenile, who was transported to a local hospital. Richter was cited in the incident, and the county Dog Warden and county Health Department are involved since the dog did not have its rabies vaccination.

– While on patrol around 10 a.m. Thursday, police heard yelling near East Main Street and Madison Avenue. Officers saw Tristan Taylor in a beige GM-type vehilce and began to follow him. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the county jail.

– Bryan Schriner reported at 12:08 p.m. Friday several chainsaws were stolen from his home. The chainsaws belong to a logging outfit in Weirton, W.Va. The matter remains under investigation.

– While on patrol around 11:25 p.m. Friday, a yellow Ford Escape was found abandoned at a West Main Street residence. The property owner was contacted and requested the vehicle be removed from the property.

Wellsville

– Cheryl Jackson, Wood Street, reported at 1:15 p.m. Thursday she received a scam call from Caprock Telecommunication Land Line in which she was informed she owed the IRS money and would be taken to court or grand jury if she didn’t pay them.

-Police were called around midnight Friday to a 10th Street residence regarding a fight. Officers spoke with Casey Carter, who said a man spent the night and woke up in a bad mood. Carter believed his name was Jamie and described him as a black male with a hoodie. Officers could not locate the man in question.

Carter later met with several officers at the alley next to the house and said after officers left, the man returned and put a gun to her head and threatened to shoot her and her children. Officers searched the area again, and one officer found a man in the alley off 10th Street by another residence. The subject attempted to run when he saw a police cruiser. He was taken down to the ground at gunpoint and patted down by officers. The man was identifed as Aaron Cardona. The officers found Cardona was on parole for aggravated robbery and had an arrest warrant from the Columbiana County Sheriff’s office. Cardona was cited for aggravated menacing.

-Police were called at 11 a.m. Saturday to the Family Dollar on Main Street in regard to a shoplifter. Officers were met with a store employee who was inside the store by the front entrance with a man, identified as Rudy (Scott) Lang. Lang attempted to leave the store with odor balls for sneakers. Lang was released at the scene and was advised to not return the store again.

– While on patrol around 10 p.m. Saturday, police checked the registration of a maroon Chevrolet parked at Riverside and Fourth avenues, owned by James Tipton but listed as expired as of Sept. 11, 2015. The registration sticker on Tipton’s vehicle returned to those of a Dodge Durango’s stolen plates. Tipton’s vehicle was towed, the plates were seized and he was cited for receiving stolen property.

County Sheriff

– While searching an inmates cell at the county Jail on Friday, suboxone was found in the cell of Donna Jarvis, 23, Maple Hill, Salineville. Jarvis allegedly admitted she brought the drug into the jail when she was brought in on Thursday. She was charged with illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony.

– A possible heroin overdose was reported at 3:38 p.m. Friday in the county jail. Deputies followed the ambulance carrying Stacie L. Saracco, 25, 18th Street, Wellsville, to the Salem Regional Medical Center and remained there until she was released. She was transported back to jail. Saracco was questioned on Saturday and reportedly admitted she smuggled six grams of heroin into the facility on March 12. She had about 2.5 grams remaining on Friday when the jail staff began searching the cells and she swallowed the rest. Saracco is charged with illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility.

– Jeffrey Oles, Beaver, Pa., reported at 4:25 p.m. Saturday he runs a property on Pancake-Clarkson Road for Robert Householder and he has found two vehicles – a Jeep and a Chevy tracker stuck on the property. Austin Allison Jr. and George Faulkner, both of Pancake-Clarkson Road, walked up and said they got the tracker stuck and brought to Jeep to free it, but it got stuck also. Oles explained they are not supposed to be there and the vehicles were towed.

– Nancy Brown reported at 11:21 a.m. Sunday someone came into the Opportunity Homes in Lisbon wanting an employee’s phone number. The man claimed the estranged husband of the woman whose number he was seeking was in the hospital. Brown did not know the man and said she could not give out phone numbers or schedules of the employees. He left and around 11:14 a.m. she received a phone call from a private number and a man claiming to be from the Lisbon Police Department asked for the same woman’s phone number. She again explained she could not give out the number, but said she would give the message to the woman.

– Wellsville police reported at 10:13 a.m. Saturday they learned someone had been transported to East Liverpool City Hospital, but after looking into the matter, they determined the alleged assault had occurred outside the village. Alexander Mason, Independence Square, Wellsville, told deputies she was assaulted by Taylor Madison on Sixteen School Road. Madison allegedly punched, kicked and threw rocks at Mason. The matter is under investigation.

Highway Patrol

– Abby J. Hale, 30, Summit Drive, East Liverpool, was southbound on state Route 11 in Madison Township at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday when she struck a deer crossing the roadway. Hale was uninjured and the deer was not located.

Columbiana

– A field was reported on fire on state Route 517 at 10:50 a.m. Saturday. The fire was reportedly caused by downed lines.

– A man reported at 7:43 p.m. Saturday he saw two people jump the fence at the clubhouse and pool area of Bayshore and Arrowhead. Police checked and found the clubhouse had been rented out and there were no problems.

Salem

– Kathleen A. Norwood, 55, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance at 11:38 p.m. Friday. She was on South Ellsworth and hit a vehicle driven by Christine L. Wrona, 39, Aurora, who was stopped at East Pershing.

– An officer responded to a 2800 block East State business at 3:59 p.m. Saturday for a report of a shoplifter, but was unable to find the suspect.

– Officers responded to a possible drug overdose at an 800 block West State business at 4:47 p.m. Saturday. A woman had been found passed in the restroom. Officers found the woman unconscious but breathing with an uncapped syringe next to her. First responders arrived to render aid at which time the woman woke up but was sluggish. Officers observed an unzipped purse sitting on the toilet tank with numerous drug abuse and paraphernalia in plain view. She was taken to SRMC.

– Police responded to the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 5:17 p.m. Saturday where a vehicle had struck a building. Officers determined that the driver, Jose Domingo, struck the garage while backing out of a Walnut Street driveway. Domingo was cited for no license and improper backing. The fire department responded to evaluate the garage and found significant damage to the brick wall. The owner was advised to have it repaired as soon as possible.

– A Southeast Boulevard resident reported at 6:44 p.m. Saturday having an argument with someone in which the person tried to throw a plastic coin machine at her legs.

– Police responded to a reported fight in a South Broadway parking lot at 12:06 a.m. Sunday and found two men who claimed to have been assaulted by two other men, one of whom fled the area. The other suspected assailant told officers that he was defending the other man who was being assaulted by the complainants. First responders arrived to evaluate the men, one of whom said he was struck with a pool stick.

– An officer responded to a South Howard home at 3:28 a.m. Sunday where a woman reported receiving phone calls from a female friend with whom she no longer wished to have contact. The friend was advised of the complaint, but said that the woman had been threatening her mother. All involved were told to cease contact with each other.

– Juan Z. Gutierrez, 26, 509 Columbia St., was cited for no license and reckless operation after a traffic stop at 10 a.m. Sunday in which an officer observed him spin tires at Lundy and Second.

– An officer responded to a 500 block Columbia home at 12:19 p.m. Sunday where the resident reported finding his cupboard doors open upon returning from work on March 17. He said nothing was taken and the door was locked.

Lisbon

– Firefighters called to BP, Route 154, at 3:51 p.m. Saturday due to a reported pump leak.

POLICE

County Sheriff

-John Butch, North Street, Beloit, reported that his pressure washer and battery charger were missing from his garage at 5:13 p.m. Thursday. When Butch asked his caretaker, Christopher Fritz, if he noticed anything suspicious, Fritz said he just noticed Butch’s garage door was open. Fritz had his son close the door. The deputy didn’t notice any signs of a break in but did notice a scratch by the door jam. Fritz, North Street, Beloit, reported at 6:18 p.m. Thursday items from his garage were also missing. His portable tool belt which contained tools made by Snap On and a Miller Setline torch were gone. The deputy noticed the hasp on Fritz’s garage door was missing.

-Debbie Ketchum, South Union Avenue, Salem, reported 7:53 p.m. Thursday a boy on Tower Road, Madison, was laying in a driveway. Her family noticed this when they were looking at homes in the area. Her husband, Corey tried talking to the boy but he was unresponsive. EMT ambulance arrived and believed that the boy has diabetes which caused him to lay in the driveway. He was transported to the hospital.

-At 12:40 a.m. Wednesday Curtis Wezel called to report a suspicious male peering in the windows of the home of Shawna Purnell, state Route 164, Salem. The suspicious male, David Donohue had been kicked out of the house earlier after an argument and claimed he wanted his clothes back. The deputy tried to get Purnell to open her door, but she refused so he spoke with her through a window. She said she was fine. Deputy Brown told Donohue not return unless he was welcomed back.

-Jennifer Hying, Stump Road, Minerva, reported at 10:58 a.m. Saturday when she went to her old residence on Legend Road, East Canton, to retrieve mail, some of it had been opened. The deputy she spoke with told her to contact the East Canton Police Department to make a report.

-Evelyn Morgan, Tenth Street, Wellsville, reported at 11:32 a.m. Saturday that Wednesday she heard her dogs barking and saw a white van on the property next door. Morgan said that she went outside and after a few minutes, the van left. Morgan believes the van was stalking out her home.

-Kenneth Robinson, Crestview Road, called at 12:33 p.m. Saturday to report a neighbor telling him that when he was gone, a silver Buick 4-door with three male occupants pulled into his driveway and walked toward Robinson’s home. One of the men crawled along the foundation before standing up and then all three left. The neighbor said that Robinson wasn’t at home at the moment and he couldn’t make contact with him.

-Deputy Wycoff found an abandoned vehicle at Lower Elkton and Churchhill road at 11:12 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was a 2008 Dodge Caliber which was registered to Sandra Reynolds of Desellem Road, Lisbon. A local resident reported that the car had been there since 11:00 p.m. the night before. Deputy Wycoff had the car towed by Baker’s Towing. Later, Reynolds called to report her vehicle stolen. She was told to call the towing company to get her car back.

-At 9:35 a.m. Saturday, Megan Carl, Beeson Mill Road, Leetonia, reported sometime overnight, someone let the air out of her passenger side tires. They didn’t appear to be slashed and she didn’t hear anything at night.

-At 4:13 p.m. Friday, Stan Cunningham reported he was mailed a fraudulent check for something he was selling on Craigslist. According to Cunningham, William Watson, Oakridge, Tenn., sent a check for $800 more than the listed price of the item. Cunningham found this strange and his bank confirmed the check as fraudulent. Cunningham was told to contact the office if Watson contacts him again.

Columbiana

-An unknown caller reported a traffic hazard on state Route 14 at 7:33 a.m. Friday. Softball sized metal debris was in front of Duke and Duchess. When the officer checked the scene, the metal had already been moved off the roadway.

-Connie Higbee called at 2:56 p.m. Friday to report fraudulent charges on her bank statement.

-A noise complaint was called in at 10:12 p.m. Friday from a resident on Allen Street. Apparently someone was revving their car engine in their garage. Police found nothing when they checked the area.

Highway Patrol

-Joey Spahr Jr., Valley View Street, East Liverpool, was driving north on state Route 644 in Hanover at 6:50 a.m. Friday, when he fell asleep at the wheel and went left of center, hitting Gregory Gooding, Rockford Road, Kensington. Kensington was going south on state Route 644. Spahr was charged with lanes of travel

-Erma Jackson, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool was completing a right turn from the U.S. Route 30 exit ramp onto state Route 7 northbound in Madison Township at 1 p.m. Friday, when she went left of center and hit Diane Thomas, Happy Hollow Drive, W.Va. Jackson was charged with lanes of travel.

-Ruthann Rose, Siegler Road, Salineville, was headed eastbound on Cameron Road in Madison Township at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, when she was struck by a second vehicle that was heading westbound and went left of center. The second vehicle fled the scene.

-Frank Kestner, Allison Street, East Liverpool, was eastbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, when he was struck by William Martin, North Market, East Palestine, who was eastbound on state Route 14. Martin was charged with OVI and left of center.

-Michael Brownrigg, McConnelsville, Pa., was headed northbound on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 1:20 p.m. Friday, when he hit a deer.

Salem

– Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:44 p.m. Thursday in reference to a fight. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

– A Monroe Street resident reported at 9:26 a.m. Friday that his uncle had been texting him sexually explicit messages and propositioning him.

– Heather L. Richardson, 27, Rose Drive, Salem, and Larry R. Blakeley, 45, Rose Drive, were charged with theft after officers responded to an East State Street business at 4:38 p.m. Friday where the store manager reported they had stolen motor oil.

– Police arrested a boy for shoplifting at an East State Street business at 6:41 p.m. Friday. The matter was turned over to the juvenile officer.

– An officer responded to a neighbor dispute on East 12th Street at 10:24 a.m. Saturday.

– An East Eighth Street resident reported on station at 12:37 p.m. Saturday that someone over an unknown period of time had taken money from the resident’s bank account.

County Sheriff

– Sonya Phillips, Coffee School Road, Salem, reported a domestic dispute at 7:21 p.m. Wednesday. Phillips and Glenn Brogan both told deputies they went to a local bar and got into an argument after returning home. Brogan agreed to leave for the rest of the evening.

– Erin Bryan, state Route 7, New Waterford, reported at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday there was a white Jeep with two unknown men inside sitting in her driveway when she got home from work. They left before she called deputies.

– Heather Davis, Canfield, reported at 7:44 p.m. Wednesday she was concerned because Don Zorn, Lower Elkton Road, New Waterford, had missed work for the past few days. Deputies checked on him and he was reported to be fine.

– Larry Mellott, Glasgow Road, West Point, reported at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday his neighbor threatened to shoot his dog and made vulgar comments toward his wife.

– A West Branch school bus backing into a driveway on Mountz Road, Minerva, at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday when the right rear bumper struck the rear hatch area of a 2002 Ford Windstar van parked in the driveway. The van is owned by Teresa Koehn and the bus driver was Deborah Shafer.

– Kelly Sanor, a neighbor of DMS Wolfe Transmission, South Mahoning Avenue, Alliance, reported at 12:39 a.m. Thursday there was a suspicious vehicle at the business still running. Deputies checked the vehicle on the northside of the business. No one was around and the business appeared to be secure. Deputies shut the vehicle off and secured it before they left.

– Jason Whiteleather, Bates Road, Minerva, reported at 7:14 a.m. Thursday sometime overnight someone entered his two vehicles and stole two Garmin GPS units and a turnpike easy pass.

Lisbon

– Police responded to a report of woman having trouble breathing on West Washington Street at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday. Police arrived and waited until KLG ambulance arrived.

– A caller reported there was a woman walking on North Market Street toward the Dunkin’ Donuts at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday and she was yelling. Police found Vickie Waite, who was headed back to her apartment on Saltwell Road. Waite was not drunk but told police she was drinking coffee and that always makes her angry, which is why she bought some beer to calm herself down. Police told Waite to quit yelling and go home.

– A caller reported hearing people arguing and possible gunshots in the alley behind the apartment complex on North Market Street across from Prospect Street at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday. Police arrived but did not see or hear anyone about.

– A burglar alarm went off at 261 W. Lincoln Way at 10:48 a.m. Tuesday, but the home was found to be secure.

Highway Patrol

– Richard Paul Cowan, 65, state Route 46, New Waterford, was eastbound on state Route 46 in Unity Township at 8:47 p.m. March 10 and went off the right side into a fence then went across Bye Road and into an embankment. He was cited for failure to control and taken to the Salem Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Columbiana

A FedEx employee reported at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday they received a threatening call from Richard Gorcheff.

– Michael Fowler, 37, Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on North Main Street at 6:34 p.m. Wednesday.

– Nicholas Hull, 25, East Liverpool, was cited for driving under suspension and failure to transfer following a traffic stop on West Park Avenue at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday.

East Palestine

– Trey Hall, 22, Sixth Avenue, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on East Main Street at 5:42 p.m. Sunday.

– Marshall L. Huddleston, 17, Chain School Road, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop in the Family Dollar parking lot at 6:32 p.m. Sunday.

– Christine Burns, 25, East Adams Street, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on East Adams Street at 4:44 p.m. March 11.

– A Threshold Residential Services employee reported at 1 p.m. March 11 there was an assault on one of their buses that day. The employee reported that one client struck another in the mouth while they were loading the bus. The incident is being handled through an internal process.

– A woman reported at noon March 11 someone told her that people were removing items from the East North Avenue school building which she and her husband own. The woman told police there have been problems with people trespassing in the buildings recently and she had the neighbors watching for trespassers. Police found no one there when they checked the property.

– Police were called to a West Clark Street home at 6 a.m. March 6 where Lisa Starkey claimed her ex-boyfriend vandalized the home while she was away. Police found clothing thrown all over the back yard, broken dishes through the home and all four tires of Starkey’s vehicle slashed. The matter is under investigation.

– Marlania Todd, age and address not listed, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on Bacon Avenue at 12:35 p.m. March 11.

– Bonnie Novak, West High Street, reported at 7:51 a.m. Tuesday there was a cat in her tree and believes it may come down if it left alone.

– Carmen Chick, Grandview Avenue, reported at 4:38 p.m. Tuesday his ex-wife did not turn over the children for visitation again.

Salem

– Police responded at 1:26 p.m. Thursday to a parking complaint in the 300 block of East Fourth Street where a Freightliner truck was parked and had expired plates. A ticket was issued for the expired registration and a warning for parking a commercial vehicle in a residential neighborhood.

– Police responded to Salem Regional Medical Center at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday after the sheriff’s office received a 911 call from a patient at the hospital requesting an officer. Security escorted the officer to the patient’s room where the patient appeared in good health but seemed somewhat confused.

– Suspicious activity was reported at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday at GetGo, 2345 E. State St., where a caller reported possible criminal activity inside a vehicle. The driver did not have a driver’s license. Gregory Lucas, 23, of Fair Avenue, was cited for no license.

– Police were called at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 200 block of Elm Avenue for a report of someone starting a fire. A man was found burning brush while clearing an area. Firefighters extinguished the fire. The man was given a warning.

– Police were called to the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday for a dispute. The individuals separated, but were been engaging in a verbal dispute for several hours. The woman said she allowed her ex-husband to stay at the residence temporarily but he made some threatening statements which upset her. After speaking with police, he gathered personal belongings and agreed to leave and was given transportation.

– A drug overdose was reported at 4:16 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Sharp Avenue by a female who took a large amount of medication and said she had intended to take narcotics as well. Drug paraphernalia and possible narcotics were located and seized at the scene, with charges pending.

– No citation was listed on a report for an accident on East Pershing Street at 3:19 p.m. Tuesday. A westbound vehicle driven by Abigail Kline, Orchard Court, struck the rear of a westbound vehicle driven by Pamela Biafore, of Tower Road, who complained of neck pain and said she would drive herself to the hospital.

-Possible charges are pending for an accident which occurred at 12:20 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Franklin and Lincoln where a vehicle driven by Kevin Orwick, 45, of Columbiana, allegedly failed to stop for a flashing red traffic signal and collided with a southbound vehicle on Lincoln driven by Kyle Holloway, 20, of Lisbon. Orwick and a passenger, Alice Reese, 32, of Hubbard, were both transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital. Holloway was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center, all with non-incapacitating injuries.

Perry Township

– A harassment report was filed at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday by a resident in the 600 block of Main Street who said a male person she knows has been threatening her life over a vehicle that was recently put in her name. The incident is under investigation.

– Township police responded to the 33000 block of Coffee School Road at 7:21 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic dispute. Police stood by with the deputy until the investigation was complete.

– A resident in the 800 block of Cunningham Road reported at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday that a male claiming to be affiliated with a credit company has been making harassing phone calls attempting to gain further information.

– Township police were asked to assist Salem Police with a domestic violence arrest in the 1900 block of North Ellsworth Ave at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday. The person was placed into custody by Salem Police.

Wellsville

– Justin Burr, 12th Street, reported at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday that he and his girlfriend, Amber Cataldo, Heights Manor, East Liverpool, were arguing and she punched him in the face. Officers did not see any visible marks on him and when he went outside, the two started arguing again. Cataldo and the children were brought to the police station, and Burr’s grandmother agreed to take Cataldo and the children home.

– Police received a call around 10 p.m. Tuesday regarding a white Ford pickup stuck on the tracks by the first tressel on old Route 7. Officers made contact with Clifford Heath and James Turner, who were standing by the truck. Heath said they were at The Pits riding in their Jeeps drinking and a friend of his needed to leave when they realized his vehicle was gone. Officers observed bloodshot eyes on Heath along with slurred speech. They also found several open cans of beer. Heath was cited for open container and public intoxication.

– Ben Eastham reported at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday he had a warrant and was on Lisbon Street at Sonny Cline’s storage garage. Officers spotted him and pulled out a needle from his left pocket. Another officer pulled out a syringe with a cap on it and a silver pipe with one burned end for smoking crack. He was charged possession of drug paraphernalia.

– Dale Hanlon, Commerce Street, reported that sometime overnight Tuesday the cable wire to his residence was cut.

– Hollie Brletich of Wellsville was cited for physical control, driving under suspension, open container and a stop light violation after a traffic stop around Seventh and Main at about 1 a.m. Wednesday. She had just backed out of the Crystal Lounge lot.

– Police were called around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to a Clark Avenue residence where Scott Beall said he came home from a bar and his wife wanted him to leave since he had been drinking. Another officer spoke to his wife, Gyndi Beadle, who said they argued. Beall agreed to leave for the evening and was taken to his father’s home in West Point.

Lisbon

– A caller reported there was a strong odor of natural gas at the Twin Oaks Mobile Village at 1:44 a.m. Thurday. The fire department responded but did not smell or otherwise detect any natural gas leak.

County Sheriff

– Tammy Ketchum, Steubenville Pike, Highlandtown, reported she heard several gunshots in the area of Bethel Presbyterian Church at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies checked the area, including the church, but did not find anything.

– Shane McClain, visiting his parents overnight at a state Route 154, Rogers, home reported at 3:09 a.m. Tuesday he went outside at 2:45 a.m. and found someone had thrown a brake rotor through the passenger side window of his locked Ford Ranger. The middle console was ransacked and he was missing a pack of Marlboro cigarettes and a prescription bottle of heart medication. The theft happened sometime after midnight.

Lisbon

– Mark Guy, who works at the county elections board, went to leave work after 6 p.m. Monday and discovered a 30-pound rock had been thrown through the front passenger-side window of his car, and he determined it must have occurred since 4 p.m. Bank bags containing checks and receipts were missing from the vehicle. Police have a suspect in the case.

– Melinda B. McDougle, 47, Myler Park Road, East Liverpool, was cited for making an improper turn after she struck a vehicle driven by Karen S. Poynter, 65, Miller Road, Leetonia, while turning onto Moore Street from state Route 154 at 7:50 a.m. Monday.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 5:21 a.m. Tuesday there was a suspicious van in the Tic Toc parking lot. Police checked and found the driver was just there to rest.

– Police assisted the highway patrol with a traffic crash on state Route 14 near McCloskey Road at 6:56 a.m. Tuesday.

– Cameron DeRuyter, 23, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the Oakmont Plaza at noon Tuesday.

– A woman reported at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday Melinda Peterson and Brad Kasunich were in a verbal dispute at a Union Street home. Police went to the home but Peterson had already left with her mother.

Salem

– A clerk at a store at 516 E. State St. called at 7:59 a.m. Wednesday to report finding a charge card near the front door when opening Wednesday morning. The card was placed in the police lost and found.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, in the 900 block of East State Street, reported at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday that someone in a tan Jaguar left without paying for gasoline. Police couldn’t locate the car.

– An officer on patrol at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday saw a possibly intoxicated man walking on South Broadway Avenue near Columbia. The man said he had been drinking at a local establishment but was headed home just a few blocks away. The officer determined he was fit to walk home.

– An intoxicated driver was reported at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday in the area of South Union Avenue and Maple Street. Before police arrived, they were advised the driver had pulled into her driveway in the 500 block of Fair Avenue. Officers made contact with the woman in her residence and she said she was not driving her vehicle. She was told not to drive due to her level of intoxication.

– A man from Allen Drive came to the police station at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday to report receiving a suspicious message on his mobile phone supposedly from the FBI asking him to send money to pay a fee he allegedly owed. He lives in Perry Township and was advised to report the incident in the jurisdiction where he resides.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Fair Avenue at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday for a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The female was highly intoxicated and creating a disturbance. The male said they had been arguing for an hour prior to him calling police because she didn’t want him to leave. A witness said she slapped the male in the hand and grabbed his shirt. The female alleged the male stole her car keys and four concert tickets valued at $400. She located the keys while officers were gathering information, but the tickets were not found. The male left with the witness after gathering some clothing and the woman was advised to call the ticket company about the tickets being stolen and have them canceled for a refund.

– Police were called at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue for a female allegedly wanting to harm herself. The female juvenile had a dispute with her boyfriend but said she didn’t want to hurt herself. She was evaluated by EMT Ambulance and police and left with her mother.

– A man came to the police station at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday to report a person he knows approached him while he was shopping in a store and began harassing him. He was advised of his options. The location where the alleged harassment occurred wasn’t noted in the report.

– A reckless operator was reported in the area of Park Avenue at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday, with the anonymous caller saying the driver of the vehicle committed several traffic violations. Police located the vehicle and checked on the driver who was found to be ok and at his destination.

– A barking dog was reported at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of East Third Street. The owner was contacted and given a warning.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West Fourth Street. A woman said her boyfriend struck her in the back of the head at a local business. She was advised of her options.

Perry Township

– An Allen Drive resident spoke with an officer at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday regarding a possible scam message he received on his phone, asking him to obtain a prepaid card and send it to the address or face arrest. He was told any message of that nature requesting a prepaid card is most likely a scam.

– Police responded at 10:21 p.m. Tuesday to the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue for a reported domestic dispute. An officer found the altercation was all verbal and no physical violence or threats of violence occurred. After the officer spoke with both parties, the female half willingly left for the evening.

– A woman was attempting to turn around in a driveway in the 400 block of New Garden Avenue at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday when one of the wheels of her vehicle became stuck in a ditch. The vehicle was pulled out by a 4-wheel drive truck and there was no damage to the vehicle.

– Police helped KLG Ambulance find an address in the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:14 p.m. Tuesday and assisted with the medical call.

– Police responded to the 100 block of Lake Avenue at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a female locked in a gated storage area. She was able to open the gate before police arrived.

-A possible rolling domestic was reported at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday traveling east on U.S. Route 62 coming from Mahoning County, but was not found.

– Police received a complaint of metal bars laying on the bridge near the state Route 45 interchange at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday, but none were located.

– A resident in the 1100 block of Hampton Place reported a case of identity theft at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday, reporting they received a letter from the IRS indicating their Social Security numbers were used to file taxes for 2015. She requested a report to provide their accountant before obtaining their taxes for 2015.

Goshen Police District

– Christian Bautista Nunez, 20, Aldie, Va., was cited for right of way at stop signs following a two-vehicle crash at state routes 165 and 14 at 7:50 p.m. March 9 in which he was westbound and pulled into the path of a northwestbound vehicle driven by Ryan Christopher Glenn, 33, Lisbon. Glenn was transported by Damascus EMTs to the Salem Regional Medical Center for possible injuries.

– David C. Earich, 29, Salineville, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash at the four-lane U.S. Route 62 bypass and state Route 14 at 8:23 p.m. March 10 in which he was westbound on the bypass and failed to control the turn onto state Route 14, traveling into a field

– James Garretson, 22, Newton Falls, was cited for right of way at stop signs following a two-vehicle crash at state routes 534 and 14 at 10:05 p.m. March 10 in which he was northbound and pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Jason R. Sanderbeck, 38, Berlin Center. No injuries were reported.

– Rebecca L. Boslett, 49, Mentor, was cited for driving under suspension, expired plates and speed following a traffic stop at state Route 14 and Middletown Road at 11:14 a.m. Tuesday.

East Liverpool

– Officers received a call about a domestic dispute at 2028 Michigan Street, where they spoke with Josselyn Cowdery, 29, who said she was lying on the couch when Donald R. Cramer Jr., 34, came home drunk and demanded her cell phone to turn off the internet. When Cowdery refused, Cramer reportedly tried to pull the phone from her grasp, twisting her arm and wrist until she released it, causing visible injuries. He ran into the bedroom with the phone and locked the door. Cramer was charged with domestic violence.

– John B. Weaver, 41, no address listed, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant after an officer on patrol reported seeing him walking with his hood up, trying not to meet the officer’s eyes. The officer came back around the block and identified Weaver as having a warrant.

– Travis Monigold, 33, Moore Street, reported someone removed his food stamp card and tried to use it and then sell it. He had the card returned but then reported other items missing, including an iPhone, a jar of old coins, Beat headphones and a bookbag.

– Miranda P. Smith, 37, no address listed, was charged with theft after a loss prevention officer at Giant Eagle reported seeing her place a bottle of rum in her purse and not pay for it.

– Michelle Coil, no address listed, reported entering property she owns on College Street and finding a man standing inside. He climbed out a window when confronted, and Coil asked for extra checks of the area.

– Officials of Tri-State Cab reported a person known to the company has been calling and threatening to burn down the building and damage the taxi cabs.

– Anna Cox, no address listed, reported three tires on her vehicle were punctured while the vehicle was parked on East Fourth Street.

– Officers were dispatched to the Fulmer Park playground on Moore Street for a report of people smoking marijuana. They reported seeing a man drop a plastic bag on the ground then walk to a vehicle. The bag was found to contain suspected marijuana, and Zachary N. Greathouse, 22, no address listed, was charged with possession of marijuana.

– Responding to a possible domestic dispute at a Smithfield Street residence, officers found a couple who had had a verbal dispute, the second time in less than a week. They were served with a trespass notice for Columbiana-Metropolitan Housing Authority properties and the tenant was told not to allow them back on the property.

– James A. Fone, a Tri-State Cab Company driver, reported receiving death threats from a person he knows.

– Officers responded to Sullivan Drive for a report of a woman screaming and spoke with Abby J. Atwood, 28, who said her live-in boyfriend had locked her out and fled on foot with her keys. Officers also noticed fresh damage to her vehicle.

– Ryan C. Stovall, Orchard Grove, reported his vehicle entered and a Nike bookbag taken.

St. Clair Township

– Jessica Minor, Purinton Avenue, reported her home entered and about $100 taken in change from jars. A window screen was removed to enter the home, she told officers, saying she was home the entire day and heard nothing.

– Officers responded to Summerset Drive after neighbors reported Jessica Tremain, no age or address listed, climbing in her grandmother’s window. This was the third time officers had been called for the same action since March 10, according to reports. Tremain’s grandmother, Ruth Brown, told officers her granddaughter told her she needed money to pay for a ride to Neil Kennedy Center for Rehab but that she did not have money for her and wanted her removed from the property. Tremain told officers she had a bed open for her in the rehab center until 5 p.m. that day, but center personnel said she was not on the list for admittance. Tremain was transported to Princeton Avenue and told not to return to her grandmother’s.

– After responding to an accident on Echo Dell Road to find a car in a field, officers charged the driver Scott D. Bender, Jr., 30, no address listed, with driving under suspension. He also had outstanding warrants.

Lisbon

– The fire department responded to a report of gasoline leaking from a vehicle on Maple Street near South Lincoln Avenue at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday. The fuel line in Heidi Grimm’s SUV broke, and the street was cordoned off while an absorbent material applied by the fire department soaked up the gasoline.

– The fire department was called to 40187 state Route 517 at 6 p.m. Tuesday to help lift someone.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Tom Darcy, manager of Sparkle, reported at 9:07 p.m. Monday he saw someone go into the Lemon Tree flower shop as he was locking up. He saw the legs and feet of someone on the stairs inside the flower shop as he was turning out the lights. He and two other employees locked the doors and waited outside for deputies to arrive. One deputy and two Lisbon police officers checked the store and found a 16-year-old boy hiding in one of the upstairs rooms. He was found to have run away from the Lisbon Alternative School earlier in the day and had an active warrant already. He was transported to the Tobin Center and information was forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor for possible breaking and entering charges involving his actions Monday night.

– Steven Byers, Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, reported suspicious activity at 2:40 a.m. Monday. While enroute, deputies did not see anyone. Byers told deputies his car alarm activated about 90 minutes earlier. When it happened again, he called deputies and went outside, where he heard someone running from the bushes nearby.

– Megan Morrow, Guy Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:17 p.m. Monday someone dumped a dump truck full of construction debris on her property. She spoke with her neighbor, who described a red dump truck matching the description of one belonging to her ex-boyfriend, Luke Trimnel.

Highway Patrol

– Michael D. Lengel, 66, Kelly Park Road, Columbiana, was eastbound on Kelly Park Road in Fairfield Township at 1:15 p.m. March 8 and passing through the Middleton Road intersection and was struck by Martha E. Schaefer, 69, Woodworth Road, New Springfield, who was southbound on Middleton Road. No citations were issued and Lengel was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lisbon

– Joseph L. Brandon Jr., 37, state Route 45, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield the right of way after he drove into the path of a vehicle driven by Brenda S. Slabaugh, 56, of Columbiana, resulting in an accident at the intersection East Lincoln Way and Vine Street at 4:43 p.m. Thursday.

– Angelia Morris from the alternate school at the county juvenile court facility reported a student ran away from the school at 1:21 p.m. Monday. Police were unable to locate the boy.

– Chance Tullis reported his dog and another ran out of the house and to the Canton Bridge, where a witness reported they jumped over the side when a motorist stopped to help. The dogs missed the creek and instead landed on Lions Club Road, where one of them jumped up and ran away, while the other remained and was taken to the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic.

– The stop sign at High Street and Pritchard Avenue was found knocked over at 5:18 p.m. Monday and was propped up by the officer until the street department could be notified.

– Chance Tullis, 20, state Route 45, Lisbon, was charged with marijuana possession and possessing drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop for running a red light in town at 11:38 p.m. Saturday. He was also cited for running a red light and driving under suspension.

Columbiana

– Crestview bus driver Harold Winnale reported at 4:48 p.m. Monday a red Chevy truck driven by a man went through his activated lights and stop sign on West Salem Street near North Middle Street in the Joshua Dixon Elementary School zone. Police cited Mark Shaffer, 66, Columbiana, for the violation.

East Palestine

– Police responded to a report of some needles found near the Brookdale Bridge at 6:15 p.m. Sunday. Police recovered the needles.

– Leetonia police requested at 6:30 p.m. Friday police look for a man at a South Market Street home. Police found that the man had only lived there for a few months but is continuing to use the location as his address. He was not home at the time.

– Carmen Chick, address not listed, told police at 7:14 p.m. Friday his ex-wife did not bring his youngest son for the scheduled weekend visit. He did not wish to file a report.

– Matthew J. Jerome, 29, East Main Street, was cited for expired registration following a traffic stop on East Main Street near James Street at 11:17 p.m. Friday.

– Dave Werner reported at 12:26 a.m. Saturday his friend Andrea Mascher told him that her husband whom she is currently separated from was inside her home and broke her phone and computer. Werner requested police check the home to see if there were any problems. No charges were filed.

– Brian Burns, address not listed, reported at 4:30 p.m. Saturday a vehicle was stolen from the Beaver Falls, Pa., area. Police told him to file a report with that department, but Burns said the department told him to file a report with East Palestine.

– Kevin Clark, West Martin Street, reported at 9:30 p.m. Saturday someone stole the Trump sign out of his yard.

– Debbi Taucher, Brookdale Avenue, reported at midnight Sunday a man driving a darker older grey truck with a full load of wood in the back knocked on her door and she did not know the man and told him to leave. Police checked the area but did not find the man.

– A man reported at 9:53 a.m. Saturday a vehicle was driving recklessly on North Market Street and was possibly drunk. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– Sandy Ellis, Bacon Avenue, reported fraud at 9:17 a.m. Monday.

– Jeremy Mascher, North James Street, reported at 10 a.m. Monday he was being harassed.

– Michael Woods requested at 5:36 p.m. Monday police conduct a welfare check on his daughter at her mother’s home on East Main Street. Woods reported that he and the child’s mother and her mother’s boyfriend had been fighting over the past couple of days and his daughter was nervous about going home. Police went to the home and there were no problems.

– Police assisted a boy with finding a lost dog in the Market and Main streets area at 6:15 p.m. Monday.

– Wendy Tyger, West Highland Avenue, reported at 3:56 a.m. Tuesday there was a wire hanging low near her home and believed it may be electrical. Police found it was a phone/cable wire and Tyger was told to call Comcast.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Monday night to Maine Boulevard, where Judy Shaffer, 70, reported her son, William S. Shaffer, 42, grabbed her by the throat three times, pushed her to the floor, and held her arm behind her back. He reportedly also trashed her Christmas room, destroyed her iPad and disabled the phones so she could not call police. This allegedly occurred when Mrs. Shaffer served her son with an eviction notice, telling him he had three days in which to move out of her home. William Shaffer was charged with domestic violence.

Liverpool Township

– While on patrol at 2:55 a.m. Thursday, an officer reported, he saw a vehicle cross over the lanes of travel on Dewey Avenue and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Rameon J. Sumlin, 25, Pennsylvania Avenue, had no driver’s license, had glassy, red eyes and the vehicle smelled of alcohol and marijuana. Sumlin told the officer he had two shots at a downtown bar. An inventory of his vehicle turned up in the center console a burned brown cigar wrapped with a green leafy substance. Sumlin was charged with OVI, physical control, driving under suspension and possession of marijuana.

Salem

– A woman in the 100 block of North Union Avenue reported at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday that she is in the process of divorcing her husband and money was removed from her account. She was told it’s a civil matter and to call her attorney.

– A woman in the 600 block of Cherry Street contacted police at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday regarding a man with a BB gun. She said the evening before, her male neighbor shot her cat with his BB gun. She was told her options. An officer made contact with the neighbor and he denied owning a BB gun. He was told it’s illegal to shoot a BB gun in the city.

– An officer was flagged down at 1:48 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of West State Street for a disorderly person. The alleged victims didn’t want to pursue charges. The suspect was advised to stay in for the evening due to intoxication.

– Kurt Holloway, 20, of Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, was cited with driving under suspension and his passenger, Luke Worden, 35, of 252 Park Ave., Salem, was taken into custody on a warrant after a traffic stop at 12:34 a.m. Tuesday on East Pershing Street near Washington Avenue. Worden was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on a domestic violence charge. He was turned over to a Columbiana County sheriff’s office deputy. Holloway’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

– A vehicle was traveling on Newgarden Avenue at 9:27 p.m. Monday when a small dog ran into the street near Mullins Street and was struck. The dog ran back to the sidewalk where its owner retrieved it and carried it home.

– An officer traveling south on North Ellsworth Avenue near East 12th Street was flagged down at 6:51 p.m. Monday by man on the sidewalk who found a credit card at Waterworth Memorial Park and turned it in. The card was placed in the lost and found. An attempt to locate a contact number for the owner was unsuccessful.

– A man in the 500 block of Bank Street reported at 6:20 p.m. Monday that he was being harassed by his landlord. He was told his options.

– A clerk at Smith Oil in the 900 block of East State Street reported at 6:16 p.m. Monday that someone drove off without paying for $30.50 worth of gasoline.

– A child was reported in the roadway in the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 4:18 p.m. Monday. An officer found juveniles riding their bikes on the road who said they were on their way home.

Goshen Police District

– An officer responded to a 9000 block Seacrist Road home at 6:45 p.m. March 7 where an empty Ruger hand gun box was found.

– An officer spoke with a dispatcher via phone regarding an unconscious man that was taken from the Colonial Motel to the Salem hospital at 3:15 a.m. March 9.

– Police responded to the group home on Sharon Lynn Drive at 4:35 p.m. March 9 in reference to a runaway juvenile who did not want to be at the home. After not following police instructions, she attempted to run away again and shoved officers. The juvenile was charged with fourth-degree felony assault.

– William A. Watt, 32, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension and a headlight violation following a traffic stop at 6:57 p.m. March 9. A passenger, Kevin M. Curtis, 22, Salem, was charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

– Police responded to the area of Pine Lake Road and state Route 14 at 7:51 p.m. March 9 where someone reported observing a man in a pickup truck drop off a dog. Officers took the dog to Angels for Animals and the dog was released to a staff member.

– An officer responded to a home in the Colonial Villa trailer park at 8:56 p.m. March 10 in reference to an identity theft report.

Washingtonville

– Police responded to the 900 block of West Main Street at noon on Sunday regarding a call for passing a bad check.

– At 12:26 a.m. Monday, a driving under suspension offense occurred on West Main Street.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Sherry O’Hara, Pine Hollow Road, Rogers, reported at 4:40 p.m. Friday two dogs attacked two of her horses, injuring both of them. Deputies spoke to the dog warden, who said she will handle the incident.

– Jessica Pickens, state Route 170, Negley, reported at 3:37 p.m. Sunday that Theresa Pickens came to her home and tried to see her grandchildren, one of who was having a birthday on Sunday. Theresa Pickens reportedly voluntarily moved out last October, but she told deputies she still owns the house while she and her husband are going through a divorce. Deputies explained to Theresa Pickens she is no longer welcome at the house and should only return if she has a court order allowing her to do so.

– Tiffany Styen, Boardman, reported at 8:12 p.m. Sunday she picked up her three children from her ex-husband’s home and all the children had noticeable red marks on their bodies. Styen gave deputies a statement and the children’s injuries were photographed. The matter is being forwarded to Children Services.

Highway Patrol

– Kelly R. McElwain, 41, North Yuma Trail, Negley, was eastbound on Carmel Achor Road in Middleton Township at 8:35 p.m. Friday and went off the left side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control and hit skip.

– Christine A. Buchanan, 43, Davner Road, Davner Road, Lisbon, was northbound on state Route 517 in Fairfield Township at 7:12 p.m. Saturday and hit a deer.

– John S. Danver, 29, Lyle Street, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 3:38 p.m. Saturday and Matthew Scott Rudder, 26, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, was southbound and was struck by Danver, who failed to yield turning left into a park and ride. Danver was cited for right of way.

Lisbon

– Larry Harris, 41, state Route 172, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension following a traffic stop on South Market Street at 8:14 p.m. Friday.

– A clerk at the BP station reported a passerby reported seeing people wearing masks behind the station at 9:47 a.m. Saturday. Police arrived to see a vehicle pulling out with women dressed in traditional Middle Eastern attire and then advised the clerk.

Columbiana

– Brad Kasunich, address not listed, was charged with dangerous dogs at large after police received a report of three dogs running at large and possibly biting people in the Lisbon Street area.

East Liverpool

– An Ohio Avenue woman was charged Saturday morning with three counts of endangering children after officers reported finding her three children alone in the home at 12:40 a.m. According to reports, officers responded to the home of Alexis N. Lindsley, 23, 2112 Ohio Avenue, for a report of a possible domestic dispute. They found the front door open and could see a small child lying on a couch inside and announced their presence, but no one responded. The officers went inside and found two other children lying in bed, with no adults in the home. A search turned up a baggy of suspected narcotics on a closet shelf. They contacted Children’s Services and waited between 40-45 minutes before a vehicle pulled up with Lindsley and the father of one of the children inside whom officers said was intoxicated. The children were reported to be 7, 3 and 2 years old.

– Officers were called Friday to the Pennsylvania Avenue Dollar General for a shoplifter, where Melinda K. Christy, 37, Wood Alley, reportedly admitted taking $28.65 worth of items, including a flashlight, gas treatment, body wash, face powder and DVDS. She was charged with theft.

St. Clair Township

– Responding to Calcutta Woods on Sprucevale Road Saturday for a dispute, officers spoke with Patricia McEldowney, no address listed, who said she came to get her personal belongings from Paul Heffner. Heffner does not live at the apartment complex, but his ex-wife does, and McEldowney told officers she believed he had gone there after breaking the key off in the ignition of her vehicle at Sheetz. Heffner was found inside and handed McEldowney’s belongings to officers. The apartment manager told officers a no trespass order will be issued for Heffner.

– David A. Scarsella, Meadowbrook Circle, reported the theft of a four-wheeler on Sunday.

– An officer was flagged down while on patrol at Walmart, with a woman reporting another woman hitting and knocking a young child to the ground. The officer pulled over the car being driven by the woman in question, who denied knocking her autistic son to the ground. She told the officer her son talked back and she corrected him but never struck him. The officer said the child did not appear to have been crying and smiled and waved at him. He planned to view surveillance video of the parking lot to see if it shows the woman striking the child.

– Kenyon Armstrong, 66, no address listed, reported that, while northbound on state Route 11, his vehicle was struck by a BB which scratched the paint on the driver’s side door.

– Officers responded Friday to the Santa Clara development on Sprucevale Road for a possible overdose after a woman reported a resident called to tell her she needed help. The resident was transported by North Star Critical Care ambulance to the hospital due to alcohol.

– Amanda Boyd, 25, no address listed, contacted police Thursday to say her father, Michael Boyd, who would not return her baby. Michael Boyd told officers he has had his grandchild and did not believe it was safe to return the child to its mother due to domestic problems after East Liverpool police responded to her home for a fight. He told officers he had called Children’s Services but had not received a return call. The child was returned to its mother, and Mr. Boyd was advised to contact Children’s Services again if he believes he needs to for the child’s safety.

– While eastbound on Stagecoach Road Saturday, Albert D. Green, 28, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool fell asleep. His vehicle left the roadway, went into a ditch, up an embankment and struck a tree. He was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital.

– While backing her vehicle on Irish Ridge Road, Kaylee N. Catalano, 16, state Route 213, Irondale backed over a hillside. Neither she nor her 16-year-old passenger was injured, and no citations were issued.

– Madison A. Koontz, 17, Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, entered a curve on Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road Friday and lost control on some gravel. She over-corrected and her vehicle fish-tailed, striking a guardrail. Neither she nor her 17-year-old passenger was injured, and no citations were reported.

– While southbound on state Route11 Friday, Cassandra Stephen, 23, Barnesville, reached down for her contact, causing her vehicle to strike the concrete median wall. She was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by North Star Critical Care ambulance. No citation was reported.

Salineville

– At 4:45 p.m. Saturday, police observed a vehicle driven by Tammy Johnson traveling west on McGavern Road. After she failed to stop at a stop sign, she was pulled over. An officer ran Johnson’s Social Security Number, which indicated she had a suspended license. She was cited for a stop sign violation and driving under suspension.

Wellsville

– Mike Cozza, owner of the Main Street Sub Shop, reported at 9 a.m. Feb. 23 that overnight, someone disconnected the building’s power and smashed the front window of his store but did not gain entry. An investigation is pending.

– Richard Crawford, Anderson Avenue, reported at 2 p.m. March 7 his hammer, drill and two other drill bits, at total cost at $500, had been stolen. Crawford said he has an idea who may have done this.

– Mike Lombardozzi, Old Irondale Road, reported at 10:15 a.m. that while he west on 10th Street Extension, he struck a deer. Minor damage was observed to the front bumper, and Lombardozzi was able to drive the truck away.

– Mitchell Mastell, currently of East Liverpool, reported at 3:15 p.m. Friday that he lost his military identification.

– Police were called at 7:50 p.m. Saturday to a Washington Street residence regarding a female yelling. Officers spotted a man walking into the residence and made contact with him. He said his wife had been off her medication and started screaming at him. He said he would like officers to commit her to the hospital so she could take her medication, but officers advised that this could not be done, adding he would need to speak with her doctor. Both parties agreed to separate for the night.

– Employees from Family Dollar on Main Street reported at 5:30 p.m. Sunday a possible robbery. Officers arrived and spoke with Chelsea Madison, who said a male known to her opened the passenger side door of her vehicle, asked how she was doing and attempted to grab money that Madison was holding in her hands. She said she struck the man several times and he took off running south on Main Street, behind a white Ford Explorer. Officers checked the area but were unable to make contact with the man. An investigation is pending.

– While on patrol around 9:50 p.m. Sunday, police observed a black Jeep traveling south on Main Street weaving in its lane. A traffic stop was initiated in which officers made contact with the driver, Kayla Blystone of East Liverpool, and the passenger, Devon Whitson of Wellsville, who provided cops with a false name as “Tevin Whitson” and a birthdate of May 1, 1993. After running Whitson’s false name, which produced no results, the county Sheriff’s office informed an officer that an active warrant was out on Devon Whitson. Blystone was cited for weaving. Whitson was taken into custody, cited for falsification, and transferred to the county jail by a Sheriff’s deputy.

– Shelly Walker reported at 11 p.m. Sunday that she was counting money from sales of candy apples for a child’s fundraiser and determined there was $100 missing. – Dave Howard, Highland Avenue, reported at 8:20 a.m. Monday that overnight, someone hit the mirror on the driver’s side of his car, which was parked in the street.

– Grant A. Stuller, 23, 13610 Williams Ave., Beloit, was charged with misdemeanors counts of domestic violence and menacing after officers responded to his home where he allegedly punched his 15-year-old sister in the face, causing a bloody nose, and threatened her with one of their father’s shotguns, then fled the area on foot. He also allegedly threatened to kill a neighbor couple during the argument. Stuller turned himself in to Sebring police Saturday afternoon.

– Hiram Diaz, 49, 12012 W. Calla Road, Salem, was charged with misdemeanor child endangerment after his juvenile son told West Branch Middle School administrators that he locked himself out of their home and had no way of getting back inside since his parents were in Philadelphia. The boy told administrators on March 8 that his parents had left a few days prior and that he was responsible for his 5-year-old brother.

– Amy Marie Franklin, 24, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash in Goshen Township at 1:12 p.m. Friday in which she was westbound on U.S. Route 62 approaching Meadow Wood Drive and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Daniel J. Scarpitti, 29, Salem.

– Maurice Herrington, 20, Cleveland, was cited for fictitious plates and speed following a traffic stop in the 7400 block of state Route 165 at 9:27 a.m. Saturday.

– Lisa Pauline Smith, 42, 12205 Goshen Road 213, Salem, was charged with misdemeanor counts of obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and public indecency after an officer responded to the Colonial Villa trailer park at 6:26 p.m. Saturday in reference to a woman lying in the roadway causing problems. Upon arrival, the officer found Smith standing in the roadway among a small crowd, then entirely exposed herself to the officer and crowd.

Perry Township

– Salem Area Visiting Nurses called at 8:02 p.m. Sunday to report receiving a panic alarm from a resident in Pembrooke Estates on Canterbury Lane and requested police check on the resident. An officer found the resident had fallen and was unable to stand back up without assistance. The person was assisted in getting to their feet and refused medical attention.

– Andrew Doerle,of Painter Road, reported at 9:34 a.m. Sunday that someone entered his vehicle overnight and removed loose change, a jacket and vehicle paperwork.

– Leetonia Police called at 3:29 a.m. Sunday to request township police administer a Datamaster breath alcohol test on an operating a vehicle while under the influence suspect. The suspect was a 33-year-old male from Columbiana.

– Township police were requested at 2:48 p.m. Saturday to respond to the area of state Route 45 near state Route 9 to assist Salem Police with searching the area for a vehicle involved in an alleged robbery inside the city limits. Township police checked the area, but didn’t find anything.

– A woman called at 10:16 a.m. Saturday about political signs being taken from various locations on U.S. Route 62/state Route 45. She said four “Ted Cruz” signs had been removed.

– A resident in the 1700 block of Depot Road reported at 8:25 a.m. Saturday that an unknown person used his AT&T account to order three iPhone 6s Plus phones. He already contacted the AT&T fraud department to correct the problem and was told to file a report with the local police.

– Police saw a vehicle parked at the end of a driveway with the headlights on early Saturday and being familiar with the residence on Stewart Road, the officer was aware the vehicle didn’t belong there. The officer woke the occupant who advised he works for a private security agency and was guarding the residence in reference to threats. He supplied his credentials. A later conversation with the homeowner confirmed the person was to be there.

– Police were notified at 2:49 a.m. Saturday about a vehicle in a ditch on Goshen Road, learning from the driver that he was backing out of a friend’s driveway and backed into the ditch. He had been consuming alcoholic beverages but said he did so after backing into the ditch. No damage was observed on the vehicle. Sinsley Towing was asked to tow the vehicle since the driver had been drinking.

– Officers checking for a warrant suspect at a residence in the 1100 block of West Perry Street saw a vehicle parked in the driveway with the radio extremely loud and nobody in it at 12:01 a.m. Saturday . Police secured the vehicle and located the driver who was found to be suspended. The driver was told the vehicle could stay in the drive until a licensed driver moved it.

– Police helped township firefighters locate smoke in the area of the 1100 block of Overlook at 9:11 p.m. Friday. The smoke came from a controlled burn.

– A caller at 5:39 p.m. Friday advised of a red vehicle failing to stop for a school bus with flashers activated dropping off children on Chestnut Grove Road. Information was obtained from the bus driver and an attempt will be made to locate the driver to issue a citation.

– Police were notified at 5:09 p.m. Friday of solicitors on Elberon Avenue, but they already left before police arrived.

Salem

– A woman reported at 1:53 p.m. Monday that an unknown person obtained an additional store credit card from her account. The account has been closed and her credit card company is investigating. Another credit card was issued in her name but she was able to cancel it prior to activation. She was told her options.

– Police were asked at 1:18 p.m. Monday to check the well-being of a female on Continental Drive. She said she was okay and would contact the person who called.

– A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported a male in a yellow Neon drove off without paying for $16.41 worth of gasoline at 12:40 p.m. Monday.

– A New Waterford man filed a report at 12:10 p.m. Monday regarding his purchase of a vehicle from a used car dealer on West State Street in Salem, saying he traded his vehicle for another vehicle and has never received the title. He allegedly learned through the county title department that the vehicle he received was titled to a Boardman dealership. The incident is under investigation.

– Kirsten Eberhardt, 22, of West Eighth Street, was cited for a traffic control device violation after a two-vehicle accident at 12:10 p.m. Monday at Franklin and South Lincoln Avenue, where the traffic light was flashing yellow for north/south traffic on Lincoln and flashing red for east/west traffic on Franklin.

– A vehicle driven by Chad Petrich, 41, of East Sixth Street, was northbound on Lincoln through the intersection when it was struck by Eberhardt’s vehicle, which was eastbound on Franklin. No injuries were reported.

– A man reported criminal mischief at Centennial Park at 11:08 a.m. Monday, saying a male known to him drove through the grass and circle flower bed at the entrance to the park.

– A caller at 9:48 a.m. Monday reported someone entered a business property in the 1500 block of Salem Parkway to commit theft. Two Ford Econoline service vans parked in the lot sustained damage to the bottom of the gas tanks, with gasoline drained out and stolen.

– A woman reported a fight at 8:31 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of Cherry Street, saying a man was outside with a baseball bat fighting with a few people. Police found the altercation had already dispersed. The man said the female half was on his property and he grabbed the bat due to the fact that she had two males with her and he felt outnumbered. No injuries were reported or seen and all parties went their separate ways.

– Police were called to the 400 block of Aetna Street at 10:43 p.m. Sunday for a report of a prowler that possibly tried to enter through a window. Police learned the incident involved a woman and her daughter and her daughter’s ex-boyfriend. The woman was told how to seek a restraining order and a message was left with the ex-boyfriend’s mother telling him he’ll be charged with criminal trespass if he returns.

– Police handled a complaint of phone harassment at 9:45 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Jennings Avenue. Both people involved were told to have no further contact with each other.

– A woman in the 100 block of North Union Avenue reported at 6:49 p.m. Sunday that someone known to her took her cell phone without permission and now they’re refusing to return it. An officer tried to contact the person but was unsuccessful.

– Police responded at 6:38 p.m. Sunday to the 1900 block of Pearce Circle where several articles of property were scattered in the back yard of a residence. Officers affirmed the items were reported missing from a nearby residence in the morning. Officers checked the residence and nothing appeared out of order.

– A woman and her juvenile son reported a person driving recklessly and using vulgar language at Kelley Park on Prospect Street at 6:32 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle in question was found unoccupied, but when the occupants of the vehicle returned and were told about the complaint, they denied the allegation.

– Police were called to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 10:16 a.m. Sunday to check on a man described with a bathrobe on his head and muddy jeans. He was located and appeared to be having a medical issue. First responders took the man to his family.

County Sheriff

– Brenda Haught called at 2:15 p.m. Saturday to report her renter was driving over the septic tank at 18th Street Heights, Wellsville. There was no damage but she wanted a report on file.

– Cathie Elliott, King Road, Salem, reported her brother told her saw vulgar graffiti, including a drawing of male genitalia, on her property when he drove by on Saturday morning.

– Debra Murphy of Athens asked police to check on the welfare of a relative who lives on Georgetown Road, North Georgetown. A deputy arrived at the address at 1 p.m. Saturday and told Kathleen Covert that Murphy had been trying to contact her by phone but had been unable to do so. Covert said she was fine but busy caring for her sister.

– Johnna Schneider, Mountz Road, Homeworth, called at 2:13 p.m. Saturday because her 15-year-old son, Colton, had yet to return home from riding his dirt bike to retrieve his helmet. The Homeworth Fire Department was asked to assist in the search because of the rugged terrain involved. Just as the search was getting underway, Bob Snyder called to say Colton was at the Norfolk-Southern rail yard on Mahoning Avenue and he told the youth to get home because people were looking for him. Colton showed up a short time later.

Columbiana

-William Sherrill, Lisbon Street, reported three dogs were running loose and possibly biting people at 1:13 p.m. Saturday. A 14-year-old boy was reportedly bitten, and the dog owner was identified as Brad Kasunich, Union Street. The matter remains under investigation and charges could be filed.

– Shanda Randolf was unable to contact her children who were at their father’s home on Union Street and asked police to check on them at 1:28 p.m. Saturday. Police checked and her children were fine.

– An open burning complaint was reported in the North Middle Street area at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, and a fireman called back to say it was a controlled burn and appeared to be OK.

– A female motorist reported following a reckless driver on state Route 14 at 12:28 a.m. Saturday, and an officer followed the vehicle but did not observe any violations.

– A caller reported there was someone sitting in a vehicle parked in a driveway on East Friend Street at 1:35 a.m. Saturday, but police did not find anyone doing that.

Salem

– A resident on Monroe Street called at 11:17 a.m. Sunday regarding a parking complaint involving a vehicle pulled on the south side of the street. A warning was placed on the illegally parked car.

– Richelle Ameduri, 40, of 910 E. Fifth St., was charged with domestic violence and taken to the county jail after a domestic dispute was reported at 3:46 a.m. Sunday at her residence. Officers spoke with both parties, both of whom were intoxicated, and determined they had a verbal dispute which turned physical. Ameduri allegedly pushed/shoved and struck the victim in the eye, causing injury. She was taken into custody and transported to the police station for processing, then became ill. Fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance were called to the scene and she was taken to a hospital for treatment. Once cleared, she was charged and taken to the jail.

– Michael Hamilton, 27, of 1007 E. Fourth St., was charged with theft, a third-degree felony due to the property stolen being a firearm, after a Rose Avenue resident reported a firearm stolen at 12:03 a.m. Sunday. The resident said the suspect had just left his residence and he noticed his .45-caliber pistol was missing. The gun was in the house before the suspect arrived. Officers located the male suspect in the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street and he denied having any involvement in taking the weapon, but advised he had just left the resident’s house. During a consent to search, the weapon was not found on him or at his residence. Officers responded back to the victim’s house because the male suspect was now calling him wanting to meet with him. He was advised to come to the house with the weapon if he took it. Officers were inside the residence when the male suspect arrived and handed the weapon back to the resident. He was taken into custody and the weapon was seized as evidence. The weapon was loaded, but there was no round in the chamber. The suspect allegedly told police he took the weapon without the victim knowing.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in a lot at Centennial Park off of Maple Street with the lights off at 10:55 p.m. Saturday. An officer checked the vehicle and everything was fine.

– A woman on Lexington Avenue reported at 8:53 p.m. Saturday that one of the other tenants had been intoxicated and using foul language. He had gone back to his residence before police arrived. The woman was told to call back if the man causes further problems.

– An alleged domestic dispute was reported at 7:58 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East Pershing Street where an officer took a statement from the victim and contacted the suspect for a statement. The incident is under investigation.

– Low hanging wires for cable or phone were found in the area of Poolside Drive at 7:36 p.m. Saturday. The fire department responded and placed caution tape around the area.

– Police responded to West Wilson Street and South Howard Avenue at 7:11 p.m. Saturday for a report of trucks racing up and down the road. Officers located several trucks in the 200 block of West Wilson Street and spoke with people who were loading one of the trucks onto the trailer and they were advised of the complaint. Police didn’t witness any type of disturbance.

– Kristina Tyson, 32, of Sebring, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign after her vehicle traveled south on Fair Avenue at 5:31 p.m. Saturday, stopped at the stop sign and proceeded across Pershing Street, getting struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Salem boy who had no stop sign and had the right of way. A 9-year-old passenger in the Tyson vehicle was taken by KLG to Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Fire department first responders also responded.

– An ATV was reported on the road in the 600 block of Cherry Street at 5:09 p.m. Saturday. Officers located the suspect and observed no violations.

– An officer at 5:08 p.m. Saturday saw dark smoke originating from behind a fence near a garage in the 100 block of West Fourth Street, circled around and saw several people at the front of the residence who had just started a small cook fire. They were aware of the open burning laws and said they just used some cardboard to assist in igniting the fire.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 4:49 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Police spoke to both parties involved and they were told to avoid contact with each other and to call the apartment manager if they wanted to file a complaint.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 10:08 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Fifth Street. A couple was involved in a verbal dispute over their pending breakup. The female was in the process of moving out. They were both told to cease further contact if they can’t be civil.

-A disorderly person was reported at 9:52 a.m. Saturday at Farmers National Bank, 2424 E. State St. When police arrived, the man had already calmed down. The manager explained the processes and the officer left.

– An anonymous caller at 9:30 a.m. Saturday reported the traffic signal malfunctioning at North Broadway Avenue and East State Street. An officer monitored the signal and it was working properly.

– Janet Cobb, of the 100 block of Washington Avenue, reported at 8:37 a.m. Saturday that her purse was taken from her residence sometime overnight. The purse contained money, her license, a debit card, miscellaneous paperwork and other items.

– Sherry O’Hara, Pine Hollow Road, Rogers, reported two dog were attacked her two horses, injuring them. The report is to be forwarded to the county dog warden.

Columbiana

– A girl was reported sitting behind the Circle K at 7:56 p.m. Thursday having possible medical problems. Police found the girl was not injured, and she was taken home.

– A Burger King manager reported a driver nearly struck the building going through the drive through at 10:03 p.m. Thursday. Police checked on the people in the vehicle and found no signs of impairment.

-Michelle Waite, Quincy Avenue, reported Friday losing $1,400 to an email scam.

-Leslie Schreiber, who owns Small Wonders Day Care, reported Friday the cash box was missing, and there was no sign of forced entry.

-A caller reported the door at the old Stahl building on East Park Avenue was open at 4:17 p.m. Friday. Police were unable to determine if it had been pried open or not.

-A caller reported there were youths on the railroad tracks by Columbiana Pump at 5:49 p.m. Friday. The youths were gone when police arrived.

-Shanda Randolph reported she went to a home on Union Street at 6 p.m. Friday to pick up her children as called for in a court order, but no one was home, and she even waited a half hour longer.

-Matthew Zaskasee, 24, of Lowellville, was cited for driving left of center and marijuana possession, while also warned for having a loud exhaust, following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 7 p.m. Friday.

East Palestine

– Bruce Mansfield, West Martin Street, reported at 5:17 p.m. Thursday there was a low cable wire hanging behind his home in the alley and he had called Comcast, but because he is no longer their customer they declined to come and repair it. Police contacted Comcast and explained the situation. The problem was placed on a list for repairs later Thursday.

– Carmen Chick, Grandview Avenue, reported at 6:20 p.m. Thursday he wanted it documented his ex-wife refused to let him see his child.

– Charles Hughes Jr., East Martin Street, reported at 8:40 a.m. Friday a white box truck struck the telephone pole on the corner, breaking it off and then left the scene. A citation was issued to Abdullahi S. Mohamed, 24, of Minnesota.

– An East Grant Street resident called 911 at 11:40 a.m. Friday crying because she was alone and they took her son to the hospital. Dispatchers asked if she needed EMS and she said “no” and hung up.

– Nancy Moore, no address listed, reported at noon, Friday, someone was at the old East North Avenue school removing items and no one should be there.

– Chris Page from Threshold Services, North Sumner Street, reported at 1:02 p.m. Friday Alan Stryker and Brian McWilliams were involved in a physical altercation.

-The security alarm went off on the ATM at PNC Bank at 11:33 a.m. Thursday, but there was nothing suspicious or anyone about, and the ATM appeared normal.

-The security alarm went off at Strohecker Inc., North Pleasant Drive, at 3:17 a.m. Saturday, but the building was found to be secure. The alarm was believed to have been set off by an animal or fog.

Salineville

– Police were called around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to an East Main Street home for a man reportedly in crisis. According to reports, an unnamed man was laying on the ground outside and screamed hysterically. Officers were able to calm the man down, noting that is not the only encounter police had with this man, and transported him to the county’s Counseling Center in Lisbon.

– Police were flagged down around 1:54 p.m. Tuesday by a West Main Street family, who reported dogs barking and foul orders coming from the neighbors’ 10 or more dogs. Officers attempted to make contact with the next door neighbor, but no one answered to door at the time. A police business card was left at the house asking the resident to contact police.

– While on patrol around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with fictitious tags with the driver, Chad Jones, found to be driving under suspension. Jones later stated that he had a bowl used to smoke marijuana. Jones’ vehicle was towed, and he was cited for driving under suspension and received a summons for drug paraphernalia.

-Police received a referral around 4:36 p.m. Friday from Columbiana County Job and Family Services regarding a boy with a hand print on his back. Pictures of the injuries were reviewed and officers/case workers interviewed both his mother and aunt, with whom the boy was in custody. Other cousins and siblings were also interviewed at a local school and determined the injuries were done by another child of the same age. Officers closed the investigation as they marked the hand print consistent to a female cousin juvenile suspect.

Salem

– The owner of a business in the 800 block of West State Street reported at 8:55 a.m. Thursday that an employee within the past two weeks had taken a new book of checks without his permission.

– A West Eight Street resident reported at 9:15 a.m. Thursday that her daughter who is in kindergarten had left her umbrella in the Buckeye Elementary School cafeteria and now it is missing and school officials could not locate it.

– A Cleveland Street resident reported at 10:43 a.m. Thursday that someone had stolen 40 prescription pills from her purse while she was away from a home in the 200 block of East Third Street she was visiting that morning.

– Police responded to a 2700 block East State Street business at 3:18 p.m. Thursday in reference to a suspicious person sitting on a bench outside. The man was determined to be a transient from Warren who was taking a rest while passing through town. An employee gave him some food and he left the area.

– An Ohio Avenue resident reported on station at 3:27 p.m. Thursday a man he

– Officers responded to a North Ellsworth Avenue home at 4:06 p.m. Thursday where the resident reported his 17-year-old daughter was being unruly.

– Police responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 5:42 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious person. The man in question said he was passing through the area and stopped to pick up his belongings after his bag broke.

– Police responded to an 1100 block East State Street business at 5:47 p.m. Thursday where a man said someone had slashed a tire on his vehicle while he was at work.

– An officer responded to the area of Jennings Avenue and West Eighth Street at 4:49 a.m. Friday in reference to a man with a back pack walking northbound. The man was found to be someone who walks the route every day.

– Dominic Diego, 24, of 543 Columbia St., was charged with disorderly conduct after police were called at 12:36 a.m. Saturday to the 600 block of East Fourth Street for a suspicious person. Officers made contact with a highly intoxicated male who was causing a disturbance and wanted people to fight him. He was taken into custody and transported to the station, then became ill from being highly intoxicated. Fire department first responders and EMT responded to the station and the man was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment. After being treated and released, Diego was charged and taken to the Columbiana County jail.

– A suspicious person was reported at Circle K, 1125 E. State St., at 7:48 p.m. Friday. Officers located the person inside the business and were familiar with him. He was told about the complaint and said he owed the store money and had been asking people to help him. He was told the consequences if his behavior continued. He was told he’s no longer welcome in the store and will be arrested for criminal trespass if he returns.

– Police were called to a restaurant in the 200 block of East Second Street at 5:51 p.m. Friday to check the well-being of a person who appeared to be in an altered mental state. Fire department first responders and EMT Ambulance arrived and the person was transported to a hospital for treatment.

– A suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of Arch Street at 5:42 p.m. Friday. A male was observed trying to take a bicycle from a residence and fled when confronted. Officers were unable to locate him.

– A suspicious vehicle with several people around it was reported at 5:36 p.m. Friday in the Sparkle parking lot, 423 S. Lundy Ave. Officers found two people sitting quietly and nothing was needed.

– Officers on patrol at 5:33 p.m. Friday saw a large amount of smoke coming from the rear of a residence in the 1300 block of East Pershing Street. The homeowner was located burning papers and was warned about open burning. He extinguished the fire.

– Police responded to a nursing home facility at 1985 E. Pershing St. at 5:13 p.m. Friday for a complaint of lost or stolen property. The owner of the missing property said her cell phone was either lost or stolen when she was a patient at Salem Regional Medical Center. She was told her options. An officer spoke with hospital staff members who said the property owner had reported the incident and they believed the property was accidentally thrown away. They also said the property owner was advised this before she left.

– A resident in the 600 block of East Seventh Street called at 4:30 p.m. Friday to report criminal damaging to two vehicles. The vehicles had scratch marks on them.

– A caller at 4:15 p.m. Friday reported a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner in the 2800 block of East State Street. The vehicle was located in the 800 block and followed before a traffic stop was initiated. An officer spoke with the juvenile driver who was learning how to drive, telling the juvenile and her father about the complaint. The juvenile was given a verbal warning for marked lanes.

– A caller at 4:09 p.m. Friday requested a well-being check of two young juveniles in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue. The caller believed there was no parent or guardian with the children. An officer made contact with the parent of the juveniles who was home.

– A suspicious person was reported at 11:48 a.m. Friday in the area of Ohio Avenue and East State Street. The male was found and told his actions needed to stop. He said he understood and was sent on his way.

– The branch manager of Farmers National Bank, 2424 E. State St., reported at 10:15 a.m. Friday that the driver side mirror of a large Chevy truck struck the ATM at the drive-in of the building, causing minor damage to the ATM. He wanted it documented in case there’s an issue with the machine.

Goshen Police District

– An officer responded to the 12000 block of Goshen Road at 10:15 a.m. March 2 in reference to a vehicle that had its tires cut.

– Desiree Timmerman, 29, Washingtonville, was charged March 2 with two felony counts of forgery and theft following an investigation into a Feb. 22 report that she forged nearly $3,000 in checks the past three months from her mother’s ex-boyfriend, for whom she is caregiver.

– A Salem-Warren Road resident reported at 8:35 p.m. March 2 that she received a letter from Chase Bank in the mail regarding a subpoena from Highland County, Ohio. She said she called the number it directed and that she gave someone her Social Security number before hanging up for fear it was a scam.

– A West Branch Middle School administrator reported at 2:40 p.m. March 3 that a student brought a knife to school.

– An officer responded to a Main Street, Beloit, home at 7:20 p.m. March 4 in reference to a disturbing phone call in which the caller used a name not known to the resident and no phone number was provided.

– An officer responded to a domestic dispute at a 12000 block Calla Road home at 4:52 a.m. March 5 in which the resident reported he and his wife had gotten into a verbal argument regarding home renovations. The wife was located in an upstairs bedroom, visibly upset but with no signs of violence on her body. They both denied any physical abuse.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Scott Wallen, Mill Street, Salineville, reported a domestic dispute at 3:23 a.m. Friday. Deputies learned Wallen had struck Cody Jones in the head with a plate. Wallen was charged with domestic violence.

– An alarm was reported at Farmers National Bank, U.S. Route 62, Damascus, at 2:55 a.m. Friday. Deputies found a door unlocked and checked the building, but found no one inside. When someone arrived from the company, deputies rechecked the building with her. It was learned the kitchen motion alarm was due to a helium balloon.

– Nate Yoder, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 5:56 p.m. Thursday sometime during the evening someone stole a tractor, which had been for sale. His daughter saw someone in a red truck.

– Pam Snay, Second Street, Hanoverton, reported at 5:38 p.m. Thursday someone has been driving past her home beeping the horn. Deputies did not find the vehicle and suggested a neighbor should consider taking a different route to the store to avoid any further issues.

– Richard Laudrille, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported a suspicious vehicle without license plates in the area at 9:10 p.m. Thursday. Deputies checked the area, but could not locate the vehicle.

– James Bowers Jr., New Cumberland, W.Va., reported he found a truck stuck in the mud on his father’s property on Pine Hollow Road, Rogers at 7:31 p.m. Thursday. Deputies spoke with Sonny Faulk, 18; Collin Lee Baker Houlette, 20; and a 16-year-old boy, who had been fishing on the property without permission and got their vehicle stuck while trying to leave. Bowers declined to pursue criminal charges and the three said they would pay for the damage.

– Jeff Petrycki of 344 Tire, state Route 344, Leetonia, reported at 7:54 a.m. Thursday he found someone broke into his business overnight. When he arrived the front door was unlocked and a small window was broken out of the garage door. About $100 was missing from the cash drawer and the office had been ransacked.

Highway Patrol

– Steven M. Brown, 55, Smith Road, Salineville, was northbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 7 a.m. Thursday driving a semi pulling a white box truck owned by Hidden Valley Transportation, Avon Road, Salineville, when he came up behind a stopped school bus with its red lights activated. In order to avoid striking the back of the bus, Brown went off the right edge of the roadway, striking mailboxes and then got back onto the edge of the roadway continuing northbound. Troopers caught up to Brown later in the day, who claimed the brake line blew on the trailer just prior to the incident with the bus and contributed to his inability to stop. He was cited with failure to stop for a school bus and expired license plates.

– John W. Smith, 72, Clarksmill Road, Salineville, was attempting to make a left turn off of Waterford Road into a private driveway at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday in Unity Township when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Joel D. Hively, 38, state Route 7, New Waterford, who was passing Smith at the time. Hively was cited with passing in a hazardous zone and no injuries were reported.

– Harold C. Wilson, 66, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, was southbound on state Route 344 and came to a stop at the intersection with State Street in the village of Leetonia at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday. Wilson began proceeding through the intersection when he was struck by Robert Huffnagle, 88, East Third Street, Salem, who was westbound. Both Huffnagle and Annabelle Huffnagle, 85, were transported by Columbiana EMS to Salem Regional Medical Center with minor and possible injuries. Wilson was cited with failure to yield at the stop sign.

– Charles Digennaro, 69, Lakeview Drive, Hanoverton, was southbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 11:50 a.m. Monday. Samuel A. Hepfner, 51, Cunningham Road, Salem, pulled from the stop sign on state Route 558 heading westbound and was struck by Digennaro, which pushed his vehicle into another vehicle driven by Jody R. Ward, 43, state Route 558, Leetonia. Ward had been stopped on state Route 558 facing eastbound. Digennaro and John Strader, 49, Michigan Avenue, Salem, a passenger in Hepfner’s vehicle, were both transported by Leetonia EMS to the Salem Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Hepfner was cited with failure to yield at the stop sign.

– Justine S. Sandor, 44, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday and stopping for traffic when Gary S. Sisley, 60, Lee Avenue, Lisbon, was unable to stop in time, went left of center and struck the left side of Sandor’s vehicle before continuing northbound on state Route 45. Sisley was cited with assured clear distance.

– Daniel K. Reash, 62, Riggs Drive, East Palestine, was westbound on Neeld Road in Unity Township at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday and attempting to make a left turn onto Adams Road when he drove off the right side of the roadway into a grassy, swamp area. Reash was not injured.

Lisbon

– Brenda Sue Slabaugh, 56, Firestone Avenue, Columbiana, was westbound on East Lincoln Way at 4:43 p.m. Thursday when Joseph L. Brandon Jr., 37, state Route 45, Lisbon, pulled forward from the stop sign at the intersection with Vine Street to gain a better view of traffic around a nearby tree and struck Slabaugh’s vehicle. Brandon was cited with failure to yield the right of way at an intersection. No injuries were reported.

East Liverpool

– While dealing with several people involved with fighting and throwing bricks, officers reported that Jennifer S. Ramsey, 38, Grant Street, approached them. She reportedly was intoxicated and began cursing at them, telling them to do their job. She was charged with intoxication.

– Bryan A. Veglia, 24, Ruth Street, was backing on Oakland Avenue when his vehicle struck one driven by Alyssa R. Hess, 26, Toronto, who had stopped behind him. Veglia was cited for driving under suspension.

– Faye B. Hiller, 26, Weirton, W.Va., was eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue when she crossed the intersection of Elizabeth Street, into the path of a northbound vehicle driven by Kenneth Biacco, 62, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, who had the right of way. No charges were reported.

Liverpool Township

– Betty Tilton, Dunn Road, reported to police she had received a phone call from a Richard Sawyer, claiming she had won more than $3.5 million and a new Mercedes Benz from the Publisher’s Clearing House. When Sawyer asked how much money she has in her bank account, Tilton told him, “None of your business,” and hung up, police reported, saying she just wanted the police and public to be aware of this possible scam.

St. Clair Township

– Officers were called Thursday for a disturbance at a home on Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road where they had responded March 4 for a breaking and entering report. On March 3, Thomas Roberts had asked for extra checks of the home due to his brother trying to get into the residence. When officers arrived Thursday, they found Phillip Roberts, 25, at the front door, agitated and crying. He told them he was trying to get money from his mother to go to work and said he did not want to go to jail. Told he was going to be searched for weapons, Roberts reportedly told officers he had something in his pocket, and a case was found that contained a burned spoon, broken syringe and shoe string tied like a tourniquet. During the search, officers also reported finding in Roberts’ pocket three plastic wrappings containing pills and heroin. They reported that Roberts was cooperative during the incident and told them he needs help but has no way of getting it. He was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

Columbiana

– A girl was reported sitting behind the Circle K at 7:56 p.m. Thursday having possible medical problems. Police found the girl was not injured, and she was taken home.

– A Burger King manager reported a driver nearly struck the building going through the drive through at 10:03 p.m. Thursday. Police checked on the people in the vehicle and found no signs of impairment.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Ronda Hillman, Rochester Road, East Rochester, reported at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday she was in the Career Center parking lot driving a vehicle owned by Family Recovery when another vehicle backed from a parking space and struck the side of the vehicle. Linda Rudibaugh, Shadyside Avenue, East Liverpool, the driver of the other vehicle said she did not see or hear Hillman because there was another vehicle with a loud radio.

– Joe Newlin, McKee Road, Wellsville, reported at 1:51 p.m. Tuesday he owns ground along Hibbett’s Mill Road near McKee Road and found two men cutting firewood on his property. Newlin said he saw people in a red Dodge Dakota leaving and followed them behind a Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, property. There he confronted them and there was a conversation, but no violence. Deputies went to the home, but no one was there.

– Kenneth Rowe, Westwood Avenue, Alliance, reported at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday he took his White 1973 Plymouth Duster to have transmission work done at Doug’s Auto on the corner of U.S. Route 62 and Homeworth Road. The vehicle has been there since November 2015. Now he has found the center console and shifter knob is missing, but the employee working there did not remove anything.

Highway Patrol

– Stephanie S. Rhodes, 36, Woodsdale Road, Salem, was westbound on Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 5:21 p.m. Friday and failed to yield at the state Route 45 intersection and struck Michael D. Phillips, 43, Sherman Street, Lisbon, who was northbound on state Route 45. Rhodes was cited for right of way.

– Taylor N. Bean, 16, Woodville Road, Leetonia, was northbound on Woodville Road in Fairfield Township at 7:10 a.m. Monday and went off the east side, over-corrected, went off the east side again and struck a gas line marker. She was cited for failure to control.

– Taylor Laine West, 19, West Main Street, East Palestine, was westbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 6:54 p.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control and taken to the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Brittany Nicole Clendenning, 20, Campground Road, Wellsville, was southbound on state Route 45 in Madison Township at 7:15 p.m. Friday and went off the west side of the road into a ditch and overturned into a fire hydrant. She was cited for failure to control.

– Charles W. Jeffers, 67, state Route 669, Somerset, was eastbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 8 a.m. Friday and slid off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Janice A. Hoover, 62, Glasgow Road, Lisbon, was northbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 6:50 a.m. Friday and went off the right side into a guardrail. She was cited for failure to control.

– Ted J. Bagwell, 49, Baton Rouge, La., was making a right turn onto Saltwell Road in Center Township at 3:30 a.m. Friday and struck a sign and a guardrail. No citations were issued.

– George S. Mackall, 63, Pioneer Road, Negley, was westbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 6:15 a.m. March 2 and struck a trash can in the road.

Lisbon

– Diana Drohn of Leetonia called on Monday to report being threatened by her ex-husband, Shawn Laughlin, who lives in Lisbon. Drohn was told she needs to file a report with Leetonia police, and five minutes later Laughlin called to accuse her of interfering with their child custody arrangement.

– The county coroner’s office requested an officer come to Personal Touch, East Lincoln Way, at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in regard to a 68-year-old deceased man. Police arrived and the person appeared to have died from natural causes.

East Palestine

– Jeff Zalick told police at 11 a.m. Tuesday that his dogs were not defecating in a neighbor’s yard as the neighbor had claimed.

– Police were called to the area of the West Street Bridge at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday for a report of kids riding skateboards on the bridge. Police told the kids to keep boards off the street and especially the bridge as they would not be seen by cars coming over the bridge.

– At 8:52 a.m. Tuesday a Threshold Residential Services employee reported there was an altercation between two of their clients on a bus that was transporting them from the Open Door Communities to their home in Salem. At 11:24 a.m. Friday an employee reported another employee was found sleeping while they were supposed to be supervising the residents of the home.

– Police assisted Darlington Township police with the identification of a suspect in an investigation in their jurisdiction at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday.

– Kaydreona L. Smith, East North Avenue, reported at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday that while walking in Davis Alley she encountered two dogs in a fenced in yard that were acting aggressively and she was worried they were going to be able to escape. Police contacted the dogs’ owner and told them of the complaint.

– David Pasco, South Washington Street, reported at 3 p.m. Tuesday some of his property was removed from his apartment after being away for a while.

Columbiana

– The Columbiana County Dog Warden picked up two Labrador dogs found at the South Side Middle School at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

– A man reported at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday a man in a white truck was soliciting at Southern Terrace Park and there are signs prohibiting solicitors in the area. Police checked but the man was gone.

– Connie Witt, Old North, reported at 3 p.m. Tuesday there was something on fire in her oven. Firefighters were called to the home.

– Police responded to a Pittsburgh Street home at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday after the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a call about two women heard arguing there. Police went to the home but found no problems.

East Liverpool

– A man arrested Monday by police following a high speed chase and foot pursuit was arrested again on Tuesday after another pursuit. According to reports, officers responded to a fight at Dresden Avenue and Grant Street at 5:37 p.m. during which men were throwing bricks and rocks at each other. A witness had a video of the fight, and as Patrolman Chris Green was watching the video, another witness pointed out three people involved in the altercation were walking down West Ninth Street. One of the three, Austin Stone, took off running after officers told them to stop, continuing to run through various yards and jumping two 7-foot-tall fences in the process. Green suffered cuts to his arms, chest and hands and ripped his uniform shirt and mace holster in the foot pursuit. He ordered Stone to the ground and, when he failed to comply, Green deployed his Taser. Stone still would not comply and, with the Taser prongs still attached, Green again deployed his Taser. Stone, who also suffered superficial scratches on his chest and arms, was charged with public intoxication and obstructing official business.

Salem

– A waterline break was reported at 5:46 a.m. Wednesday on Homewood Avenue. Water appeared to be leaking from a shut-off valve. The water department was notified.

– Bret Ahearn, 19, of 1340 Fairview Ave., was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, underage consumption, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia after an officer was flagged down by a motorist at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday about a vehicle stopped in the road on West State Street near Georgetown Road. The officer arrived as the car was pulling away and spoke to two people in another vehicle who said the driver was impaired or overdosed and passed out behind the wheel. They directed the officer to the vehicle as it pulled into a parking lot and the officer found the driver passed out behind the wheel again. He was found to be intoxicated and under 21 and was taken into custody.

– A man came to the station at 7:34 p.m. Tuesday to turn in several items found on a bench near the duck pond at Waterworth Memorial Park. All items except for two keys were returned to the owner, with the keys placed in lost and found.

– A woman called in a report of trespassing at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday, saying two people were seen on the roof of a nearby building in the 500 block of East Pershing Street. An officer made contact with the people and told them the consequences of returning.

– Police responded to a hit/skip crash in the intersection of South Lincoln Avenue and East State Street at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday where a silver Jeep SUV struck the rear of a black Audi car and then fled the scene. The report wasn’t completed, with the incident under investigation.

– A two-vehicle accident was reported at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Southeast Boulevard and Franklin Avenue, but a caller contacted dispatch to advise both vehicles involved had left. No debris was found in the intersection.

– A man on East 10th Street reported at 5:44 p.m. Tuesday that someone opened a cell phone account online and used his name and information. The account has an outstanding balance of $1,416 due to being turned over to a collection company. He has had the same cell phone account for the past eight years through a different provider and had no knowledge of this other account until January. He also discovered two other unauthorized accounts created in his name near the same time, one for a bank credit card and one for a store credit card. He discovered them early enough and stopped them before any large debt was charged up. It was unknown who created the accounts or how they acquired his information.

– A suspicious vehicle/person was reported at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue, but no one matching the description was found.

– Police responded at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday to a report of open burning with large flames and smoke in the 1200 block of East Third Street. An officer was unable to locate a fire, then was flagged down by a homeowner who said he was burning twigs and branches. He showed the officer a small, above-ground fire pit in the back yard. He was given several options for future burnings.

– Loud music was reported at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West School Street. Police came across several people parked along the street who had music playing in a vehicle at a moderate volume, but not excessively loud. They were told about the complaint and voluntarily turned the volume down.

– Matthew Bartchy, 21, of 2561 Lexington Ave., was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Columbiana County jail after police were called at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday to his residence for a domestic in progress. A male and female were involved in a physical altercation and the male left, but then returned. Police spoke to both parties and found that the male was the primary aggressor. Both were evaluated by fire department first responders and EMT and the female was transported to SRMC.

– Charles Deyarman, 65, of Alliance, was charged with improper backing after his vehicle backed into a parked vehicle owned by Nicole Strong, 28, of Ash Street, in the 400 block of Ash Street at the dead-end at 3:30 p.m. Monday. Dayarman reportedly told police his foot slipped off the brake.

– An officer was flagged down on North Lincoln Avenue at 3:29 p.m. Tuesday by a man who found two credit cards near Hope Cemetery. They were placed in lost and found.

– A caller at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday reported a reckless driver in the area of Ohio Avenue and Reilly School, with an auxiliary member witnessing a newer model red truck speeding. The vehicle was last seen turning onto Franklin and wasn’t found.

– A wallet was found at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West State Street and placed in lost and found.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Jessica Lassiter, Cunningham Road, Salem, reported at 7:15 p.m. Monday she went to her parents’ home and they would not let her take her children. Lassiter claimed she was taking the children back to Hugh Lassiter, who has custody of the children, but was unable to pick them up during her visitation. Deputies explained to Ashley Messanger, Lassiter’s sister, that she cannot keep the children away from the mother if the children were left in her care.

– Adrianne Binkley, West Perry Street, Salem, was westbound on Georgetown Road when she encountered ice and slush on the roadway, causing her to slide out of control, strike the ditch and flip her vehicle on its top at 7:23 a.m. Friday. North Georgetown firefighters responded, but Binkley said she was not injured.

– Joseph Caporale, Maple Grove Lane, New Waterford, reported unsafe shooting at 5:14 p.m. Monday. Deputies spoke to Clarke E. Close Jr. with his friend, Rodney Oliverio, who were shooting on the property. Close was building a suitable backstop for shooting, but was still shooting toward houses and a play area for children. Deputies explained shots could still ricochet.

– John Urichko, Timber Run Road, New Waterford, reported that sometime on Friday someone stole a three-foot Buddha from his front yard.

Lisbon

– The county dog warden’s office requested police be present when they removed a dog found in a long-abandoned home at 241 Maple St. at 5 p.m. Monday. The door was open and the dog was not mean. The dog did not have any water and did not appear to be cared for.

– The county sheriff’s reported at 9:20 p.m. Sunday it was receiving multiple calls from Vickie Waite of Apple Grove apartments and she was now calling 911. Waite was told not to call unless it involved a law enforcement matter or emergency. They told her to instead call the Help Hotline, but the dispatcher at Help Hotline reported Waite had been calling them continuously for the past five days.

– The dispatcher reported being on the phone with a motorist following a possible drunk driver as he was driving through town at 7:19 p.m. Saturday. Police stopped the motorist and determined he had not been drinking and was otherwise fine. The motorist said he kept driving around because somebody was following him and he was afraid to stop.

– Michele L. Hurst, Sunset Drive, reported Friday $400 was missing from her house about a week ago and she may know who was responsible.

– Police were called to the homeless shelter on Maple Street at 7:17 p.m. Thursday after Jennifer Michael had reportedly fallen and could not get up. She was found upstairs and taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

East Palestine

– Bob Kotas, Alice Street, reported at 7:50 a.m. Monday he think someone may have been in his neighbor’s silver Pontiac because the door was partly open on the driver’s side. Police contacted the resident and found the door was left open by mistake and there were no problems.

– Debra McCoy, state Route 170, reported at 10:11 a.m. Monday someone wrote profanity in the dirt on her vehicle’s back window.

– Parking citations were issued to three vehicles parked in the alley beside the First Church of Christ at 10:20 a.m. Monday.

– Alison Feezle, Padgett Road, reported at 12:21 p.m. Monday she believed one of the horses in the field at West Main and Padgett may be dead. Police left a message with the horse’s owner.

– Cheryl Roush, East North Avenue, reported at 2:15 p.m. Monday she wished to dispute her parking ticket.

– A man reported at 2:57 p.m. Monday a group of kids were riding around French Street in a golf cart playing loud music.

– Randall W. Fegert, East Garfield Road, was cited for failure to stop for a school bus at 3:40 p.m. Monday.

– Jesse Toot, 24, East Clark Street, was cited for driving under suspension and warned for two headlights required following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 10 p.m. Monday.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 4:48 p.m. Monday someone in a Dodge Spirit was driving recklessly on state Route 164. Police checked the area for the vehicle but did not find it.

– Someone reported at 7:11 p.m. Monday a group of about 20 kids were skateboarding in the parking lot by the Hogan’s Bakery and was concerned that they were riding on and jumping over the new walls.

– A man reported at 8:30 p.m. Monday there was a natural gas odor in the area of Fairfield Avenue between Pueblo Lane and Bittersweet Drive.

Leetonia

– An officer responded to a 600 block Columbia Street home at 10:26 p.m. Feb. 13 in reference to barking dogs. The homeowner was not present and temperatures reached below zero degrees. Once contacted, the homeowner said she was on her way home and that there was a dog shelter in the yard.

– A Beeson Mill Road resident reported at 11:19 a.m. Feb. 15 that her neighbor’s dog is defecating on her property despite her asking the owner to prevent the action. The dog’s owner was warned about the violation.

– Police responded to a reported underage party in the 100 block of Lisbon Street at 2:23 a.m. Feb. 21. Several females were seen leaving a neighboring home, but none under 21 had apparently been drinking. An officer spoke with a person at the home in question who said no one was under 18, but would not let the officer inside and did not specify if anyone was under 21. The person said the party was breaking up and he was warned of laws against delinquency of minors.

– A High Street resident reported at 3:21 p.m. Feb. 21 that she received a death threat against her boyfriend via telephone. She said they had been threatened before, and that someone had driven a truck with no front license plate through their lawn about two weeks prior, but that they had no suspects.

– An officer responded to Wick Park at 2:20 p.m. Feb. 27 in reference to damage to the pirate ship playground equipment.

– An officer responded to an alarm activation at the gas station on Columbia Street at 1:23 a.m. March 2, but found everything secure.

– An officer responded to a 300 block Somer Street home at 2:27 a.m. March 3 in reference to a woman yelling for help amid dogs barking. The officer found the woman in the back yard with the dogs trapping her against a wall. The woman said she had just moved in with the current resident and that the dogs did not know her yet. When she left the house to get something from her vehicle, they would not let her back into the house, she said.

– Jared L. Barton, 21, 1361 Ridgewood Drive, Salem, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and speed following a traffic stop at Columbia and Mill streets at 3:08 a.m. Sunday.

– A Front Street business owner reported at 8:34 a.m. Monday that the blacktop of her parking lot had been damaged during the plowing of snow at a neighboring business’ parking lot. She said the other business’ trash had been pushed onto her lot and its patrons continue to park at her business despite being asked not to do so.

– A State Street resident reported at 11:53 a.m. Monday that she had been bitten by a dog near the State Street apartments while she was pushing her child in a stroller. She said the Yorkie mix came through a hole in a fence and bit her below the knee, causing a bleeding wound. The dog’s owner said that the dog has had all its shots and that he is in the process of fixing the hole in the fence. He said he would take responsibility for the medical bills.

– A Walnut Street resident reported at 7:19 p.m. Monday that her ex-husband had threatened her through their teen son who wanted to stay with her for the night. The father has custody, but eventually agreed to let the son stay with his mother for the night. They were advised to contact an attorney regarding custody.

Perry Township

– Police responded at 8:50 p.m. Monday to the 2200 block of North Lincoln for a reported out-of-control grass fire. It was found the fire was a large bonfire. Police remained at the scene while fire crews extinguished the fire.

– A reckless operator was reported at 8:10 p.m. Monday in the area of state Route 45 near South Lincoln in a light-colored Dodge Caravan, but the vehicle was not located.

– A man in the 1800 block of Cliff Drive reported a theft of prescribed medication from his residence at 7:43 p.m. Monday. The incident is under investigation.

– Police responded at 6:35 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of Bethel Drive for a reported scam, which is under investigation.

– A woman in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at Salem Acres reported at 6:20 p.m. Monday that she watched a young juvenile pick up a rock and throw it at her vehicle, causing damage. An officer spoke to the juvenile who admitted to hitting the vehicle but said it was an accident.

– A woman in the 1800 block of Cliff Drive spoke with police at 5:21 p.m. Monday in reference to a civil issue regarding property inside a residence. She was told her options and to speak with an attorney.

– No citations were issued after an 83-year-old woman from Berlin Center struck a mailbox in the 2200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:41 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

– A resident in the 300 block of Plymouth Place called at 12:35 p.m. Monday to report a male taking pictures of her residence and a neighbor’s. The vehicle left before police arrived.

SALEM

– A Southeast Boulevard resident called at 9:51 a.m. Tuesday to report two males with tools who looked like they were attempting to gain entry to the back of a vacant house in the neighborhood. An officer saw the men working on a roof and all appeared fine.

– A woman in the 1000 block of East Third Street reported at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday that someone removed a bike from the front porch of the residence, possibly around midnight because the dog was barking and going a little crazy at that time.

– Mark Byland, 56, of Tower Road, was taken to SRMC by KLG after suffering a medical event and running off the road while traveling north on New Garden at 7:09 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle swiped a telephone pole and traffic control sign, then continued off the road and struck a porch in the 600 block.

– An officer was flagged down at 6:49 a.m. Tuesday by a man who found a wallet on North Ellsworth Avenue near 12th Street. It was placed in the police lost and found.

– An alarm was reported in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 4:19 a.m. Tuesday, with the exterior of the establishment found secure. The business owner was advised.

– A woman from Florida called police at 2:54 a.m. Tuesday to report she believes she was a victim of a scam from a person living in Salem. The incident is under investigation.

– A suspicious person was reported walking south on South Lincoln Avenue at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday. An officer located the person, who was out for a walk with his dog. Nothing suspicious was seen.

– Jordan Nelson, 19, of East Third Street, was cited for expired license and a stop sign violation after a traffic stop at 1:46 a.m. Tuesday.

– Police were called at 12:53 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Summit Street and Cedar Ridge for an injured oppossum which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and was in distress. The humane officer responded to remove the animal. Police did not put the animal down due to the close proximity to houses and vehicles.

– A woman at 9:48 p.m. Monday reported a theft in the 200 block of East Third Street, saying her breathing machine was taken without her permission in the last four days. Also missing were two envelopes containing personal items. She was told her options.

– An officer responded to the 2200 block of Merle Road at 9:46 p.m. Monday for a report about a crash that occurred on March 4 at 9 p.m. The registered owner wanted a report taken as a precaution in case damages wouldn’t be fixed by the other party.

– A theft in the 900 block of Fair Avenue was reported at 6:03 p.m. Monday, with the suspect involved already turning over two items to the victim, who wanted to pursue charges. The 13-year-old juvenile suspect was charged with delinquency after officers recovered some stolen property at her residence. She was released to her parent.

– Officers were flagged down at 5:14 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue by a man who said he’s receiving unwanted calls from a person known to him. He was told his options.

– The owner of a property in the 800 block of North Ellsworth reported at 5:01 p.m. Monday that a person came onto the property and took items from a vehicle. The vehicle owner has not reported anything stolen and the matter is being treated as a trespassing incident.

– A reckless operator was reported at 4:58 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of West State Street. The vehicle was located but no reckless driving was observed.

– An officer at 4:20 p.m. Monday spoke with a person regarding a damaged vehicle at North Lincoln Avenue and Second Street, but the person failed to respond back to the Salem Police Department.

– The owner of a property in the 300 block of West 10th Street reported criminal damage at 12:01 p.m. Monday, saying his renter clogged the sinks prior to moving out. He was told the incident is civil and to seek legal advice.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Monday night to Vine Street for a woman screaming and found Erin Porter and Greg Todd on the porch. Porter told officers Todd had beaten her up the previous day, causing her to get stitches underneath her nose. Asked why she did not report that incident, Porter said she was afraid of Todd, who she said wouldn’t let her out of his sight, even accompanying her to the hospital when she got the stitches. On this day, she said he pushed her, smacked her around and spit on her. Todd was charged with domestic violence.

Wellsville

– Jodee Kessler, 39, 15th Street, was cited for speeding, going 48 in 35 zone, at 8:20 p.m. Monday on state Route 45. Kessler said she didn’t think she was going that fast and wasn’t familiar to the power of the vehicle since she had just rented it earlier that day. While the citation was being prepared, an officer who was only six feet away heard Kessler on her phone shouting obscenities about him and the police department and how she would file harassment charges if the citation was issued. After being advised of the citation, she reportedly became very belligerent and demanded to see the radar which the officer did not have. She then said the only reasons she was being stopped were because she was driving a car with Tennessee plates and the officer was looking for drugs. She initially refused to sign the ticket, but eventually did after being today she would go to jail if she didn’t. Kessler told the officer she would file a complaint with Police Chief Ed Wilson, and then took the citation, rolled it into a ball and threw it on the passenger seat.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Security Systems reported an alarm at Unity Tube, state Route 165, East Palestine, at 8:10 p.m. Sunday. An open door was found and the building was unoccupied on one side. Several adults were in the back of the building, appeared to be practicing baseball and reported they had permission to be there. Deputies were unable to contact the owner of the building.

– John Wilkes, Thomas Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:57 a.m. Sunday he came home from work to find his 17-year-old son had thrown a party at his home and there were some slightly intoxicated teens and young adults still there. Those remaining behind were James Wilson, 20, of Lisbon; Chase Johnson, 20, Lisbon; two 17-year-olds from Mogador and a 16-year-old from Akron. The parents were called to come get the children. Deputies transported the two 20-year-olds home to Lisbon. A child’s Power Wheel was missing from the garage, and Chase Johnson and the 17-year-old son agreed to replace the Power Wheel.

– Lori Ensell, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 12:34 a.m. Monday a Roger’s man she knows was not handling a break up with one of her family members very well and was making threats to harm himself. The man also reportedly had stated if he was approached by law enforcement he would pull a knife on deputies so they would be forced to shoot him. Deputies pulled up at the home on Dyke Road, Rogers, and learned the man had fled into the night. Deputies searched for him and eventually found him resting in his vehicle with a knife. He was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital to be evaluated.

– Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence at a Georgetown Road, North Georgetown, home at 2:!1 a.m. Sunday. Samantha McKinney, who was intoxicated, reported she and her live-in boyfriend, Zachary Trainer, got into an argument, she told him to get out and grabbed his belongings to get him to go. He reportedly started pushing her and she punched him in the face. Trainer reported they had been asked to leave a restaurant in Alliance after McKinney got into an argument with a friend there. When they got home, they started to argue and she punched him and slapped him several times in the face. McKinney was charged with domestic violence.

– Deputies tried to check on a Petersburg resident, at 2:47 p.m. Saturday at another woman’s request, but could not find anyone there. The home was secure.

-A burglary in progress was reported by ADT at the home of Paul Davis, Hull Road, Lisbon, at 3:06 p.m. Thursday. The homeowner was receiving real time video of the burglary happening. He was able to provide deputies with snapshots of the vehicle which dropped a man off and the man actually breaking into the house. Deputies arrived and checked the house, but no one was located. The picture window was broken out and a broken hammer handle was found on the porch. Blood drops were found scattered throughout the home. A man and woman believed involved in the burglary were found later Thursday afternoon.

Lisbon

– Police were called to Shenanigan’s Pub in regard to a reported fight at 2:45 a.m. Sunday. Police arrived and found a group of people milling about in the parking lot and they were told to move on. Police were called back 45 minutes later and spoke with Andrew Serroka, who said he was being harassed in the parking lot by a man he did not know. Again, police told the small group standing around to leave.

– A caller reported Kriss Elsass and Greg Shasteen were fighting on Graham Street at 9:16 a.m. Friday. Police spoke to Shasteen, who said Elsass had left an eviction notice and then tried to kick in the garage door before leaving. Shasteen said Elsass does not even own the home, and it was the owner who told him to call police. Shasteen was told this was a civil matter, and they would tell Elsass he is not permitted in the house without prior notice.

– A caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle at the Valley View convenience store at 8:11 p.m. Saturday. Police found a woman sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot, and she said she had pulled over to do some texting. The woman said she would move along.

-Police responded to a loud music complaint at Shenanigan’s Pub at 11:32 p.m. Saturday, but the officers did not hear any loud music but advised the tavern owner about the call anyway.

Columbiana

– Nicholas Augostine, 20, Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension and given a written warning for loud exhaust following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 12:55 a.m. Sunday.

– A man reported at 4:13 a.m. Sunday there was a suspicious man in the Dutch Haus area. Police checked the area and did not find the man.

– Police assisted Leetonia police with an OVI traffic stop at 5:24 a.m. Sunday.

– A man reported at 2 p.m. Sunday there was a road rage incident in the traffic circle while he was letting a group of people cross the walk.

– Police were called to a family dispute on Fairfield School Road at 7:31 p.m. Sunday. Those involved were voluntarily separated.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called to East Liverpool High School for a student trying to assault another student. They said the first student had to be restrained to protect the other student. Teacher Julie Rowe was punched in the chest and had her foot stomped on, while teacher Jason Croxall was punched several times in the face by the student before he ran home to his apartment on Wilbert Avenue, where officers took him into custody.

– Derrick Hart, 34, reported being assaulted outside the Odd Fellows Temple Apartment building by Albert Guy, no age or address listed, and officers said Hart was bleeding profusely from the nose. He was transported to the hospital. Hart’s brother said Guy was holding a nine-volt battery when he struck Hart, and officers reported finding such a battery in Guy’s pocket when he was located. Guy was arrested for the assault.

– Officers responded to Inez Avenue for a truck in a ditch and reported finding Larry Long Sr., 68, Inez Avenue, standing at the end of his driveway, with a strong odor of alcohol and poor balance. A witness told officers Long had exited the truck with an opened bottle of beer. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was charged with OVI. According to reports, he was not transported to the police department for a breathalyzer since the investigating officer’s certification for the breathalyzer has expired.

– Natasha M. Monteiro, Pennsylvania Avenue, reported her house broken into and her refrigerator taken while she was in the process of moving out.

– Kelly M. Reed, 26, no address listed, reported receiving threatening Facebook messages from a female she knows.

– Haydon M. Gorby, 22, Belmar Street, asked to have a male she knows removed from her residence. After officers spoke to both parties, the man decided to leave on his own accord.

St. Clair Township

– Gary M. Yarosz, 30, no address listed, was charged with petty theft after employees of Walmart reported seeing him walking through the store, eating a bowl of chicken wings, after which he threw the empty bowl onto a shelf. He then reportedly selected a ball cap from a display, put it on underneath his beanie cap and left the store without paying for the chicken or hat.

– Nateia Jakes, 27, no address listed, was charged with petty theft and possession of criminal tools after Walmart employees reported she selected $79.97 worth of items and concealed them in her purse, then left the store without paying.

– Officers responded Friday to Beaver Local High School on Bell School Road for an unruly juvenile. No other details were reported.

– Patricia L. Wolfe, Birch Road, reported her granddaughter has been stealing checks from her purse and cashing them for four months. An investigation has been started.

– Amy Frampton, Leslie Road, reported jewelry stolen.

– Identity theft was reported by Andrea Dable in regard to her father’s VA account.

– The owner of rental property on Duke Road reported damage to the property. The owner was not identified in reports.

Wellsville

– Tiffany Franklin, 18th Street, reported at 6:33 p.m. March 1 that furniture was stolen from her front porch by her brother. Franklin was later cited for falsification after police learned the furniture belonged to her brother.

– Police were called at 8:44 p.m. March 1 to an apartment at Independence Square regarding an overdose. David Moates, no address listed, was cited for drug abuse. Thomas M. Redman III, 33, Clark Avenue, was cited for criminal trespass for being on CMHA property after he had previously been served with an order to stay away.

– Brandon Byers and Zachary Humphey, no addresses listed, were cited for drug paraphernalia after suspected crack pipes were found under their seats during a traffic stop at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday.

– Stacie Saracco, no age or address listed, was cited for no license plate light and drug abuse after suspected marijuana was found during a traffic stop at 7:57 p.m. Friday.

– Police were called at 9:05 p.m. Friday regarding an intoxicated female who ran over the stop sign at Third and Main streets near Tony’s Bar. Officers made contact with Marcia Brightwell, 44, Third Street, Wellsville, who was found to be heavily intoxicated inside her 2000 Buick, parked in front of the bar. Brightwell was cited for physical control, reckless operation, failure to control and open container.

– Officers were called at 2:05 a.m. Sunday to the area of Ninth Street and Broadway Avenue following reports of a white SUV striking multiple cars on Broadway and attempting to leave the scene. Officers made contact with Jodee K. Kessler, 39, 15th Street, Wellsville, who drove a white GMC Envoy that was parked, haphazardly, on Ninth Street with heavy damage observed to the front passenger side of her vehicle. Kessler was cited for physical control and failure to control.

Salineville

– Police were called to a West Main Street home at 8:53 p.m. Feb. 25 for a minor vehicle crash. The driver side mirror of a silver GMC driven by Michelle Cole was reportedly knocked off by a gold Chevrolet vehicle, driven by Robert Brown. No injuries were reported.

– The manager of Dollar General reported at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 27 that an adult female was witnessed stealing Starbucks coffee drinks from the store. After questioning, Candace Norris admitted to stealing the drinks, saying she was short of money. Because of her cooperation and making restitution, she will be summoned to Columbiana County Municipal Court.

– Nicol Richter, East Main Street, reported at 11:05 p.m. Thursday that her husband, Michael Bowen, had not returned home from a doctor’s visit. Bowen was later found to be OK at a motel in Salem the next day.

– At 9:20 a.m. Friday Shon Barton of Irondale, who was taken into custody on a warrant for domestic violence and using dangerous drugs.

– Police were called around 5:23 p.m. Friday to a Mill Street address regarding a possible domestic dispute between a mother and her adult son.

– Police were called around 6 p.m. Saturday to a McKinley Street residence for theft of medication.

East Palestine

– Sue Weigle reported at 4 p.m. Sunday there were kids riding hoverboards on the railroad tracks at the high school on West Grant Street. Police told the kids to find another place to ride.

– Kathryn Burr, 51, Pinewood Drive, was cited for driving under OVI suspension following a traffic stop near the Family Dollar at 5 p.m. Sunday.

– Christine Burns, East Adams Street, reported at 5:16 p.m. Sunday her husband has been missing since Wednesday.

– Karen L. Brightwell, 54, East Main Street, was cited for expired registration and display of lights following a traffic stop on Carbon Hill Road near Bacon Avenue at 7:52 p.m. Sunday.

– Jennifer Cunningham, 33, New Galilee, Pa., was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on Park Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Sunday.

Salem

– A man in the 800 block of East Third Street reported at 10:42 p.m. Sunday that his live-in girlfriend took his van and his debit card and money out of his wallet without permission. He was told his options.

– A woman in the 400 block of Continental Drive called at 7:56 p.m. Sunday and said a suspicious person was outside knocking on the door but she was unable to see anyone. Police checked but didn’t locate anyone.

– Jeffrey McCain, 41, of West State Street, was cited for hit/skip leaving the scene of an accident on private property after an incident in the Walmart parking lot was reported at 5:26 p.m. Sunday. A vehicle driven by Erin Fuschetto, 35, of Canfield, was struck by another vehicle traveling through the lot which then fled. A witness was able to give a description and the registration. An officer made contact with the owner who said her adult son was driving the car. He responded to the station later and was cited.

– Jill Silliman, 39, of Overlook Drive, was cited for driving under suspension after her vehicle backed into a vehicle owned by John Cannell, 84, of South Range Road, which was parked in the Family Dollar lot at 239 W. State St., at 4:50 p.m. Sunday. A bystander wrote down the plate number after the vehicle left. Police made contact at the residence and told someone there to have the owner of the vehicle contact police. The owner called and admitted to backing into the other vehicle.

– Travis Faulkner, 27, of Columbia Street, was cited for assured clear distance and no license after his vehicle struck the rear of an eastbound vehicle driven by Tucker Widlicka, 18, of Yates Road, who then struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Marla Hollenshead, 47, of Heritage Lane, who was stopped for traffic at 11:15 a.m. Saturday. Faulkner left the scene on foot but was contacted at his residence. He said he got scared because he did not have a driver’s license. No injuries were reported.

Perry Township

– Township police were asked by Salem Police at 5:51 p.m. Sunday to make contact with a person from the 1300 block of West State Street whose vehicle was involved in an incident in the city. The registered owner was contacted and told to call Salem Police.

– Police were called to Highland Creek condominiums at 1:31 a.m. Sunday for a suspicious vehicle that pulled into a parking area. An elderly female resident didn’t know the person in the vehicle, who appeared to be intoxicated. She called her neighbor who came over and found the male driver confused and appearing intoxicated and then called police. James Moore, 48, of Westerville, was charged with physical control. The resident didn’t know him and wanted his vehicle removed from her parking area. Davidson Towing responded and removed the vehicle. The driver was processed at the police station, then given a ride back to the proper residence at Highland Creek after an officer conferred with the man’s sister.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Susan Ralston, Sprouse Road, reported at noon Saturday her 17-year-old grandson wrecked her vehicle on purpose, broke a window at the home and was throwing iced coffee at her vehicle and then chased her out of the driveway yelling threats at her. A deputy went to the home, but the boy was not there. Several other windows were found broken at the home and holes in the walls.

– Deanne Walton, Hookstown, Pa., reported at noon Sunday her white 2007 Homesteader horse trailer was parked in the back parking lot of the Pure Gold Riding Stables in Salem Township when it was struck by another horse trailer driven by Mark Dashiell of Cannonsburg, Pa.

Highway Patrol

– Kayla R. Bowyer, 18, state Route 154, Rogers, was westbound state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 7 a.m. Friday and went off the left side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

– Police stood by until the highway patrol could assist a vehicle that went off Columbiana-Waterford Road at 5:13 a.m. Friday.

– A North Elm Street resident reported at 5:13 a.m. Friday there was a strong gas odor coming from the area of North Elm and Prospect streets. Police stood by until the fire department and Columbia Gas arrived.

– A man reported at 7:38 p.m. Friday two small kids were left in a vehicle in the Family Dollar parking lot. Police checked and found the the woman arriving back at the car to her children who were 12 and 3 years old and there were no problems.

– Justin Baker, Court Street, reported at 7:39 p.m. Friday his neighbor was driving through his yard. Police spoke with a resident at the neighboring home and they said they would make their family aware of the complaint.

– A South Main Street juvenile reported receiving harassing phone calls at 11:31 p.m. Saturday.

East Palestine

– An East Clark Street resident reported at 7:14 p.m. Saturday kids were throwing rocks at their home.

– Lloyd McKinney, West Main Street, reported at 5:46 a.m. Saturday John Smollen was upstairs kicking and making noises. At 8:12 a.m. Smollen reported there were two intruders inside his apartment. Police checked and found the apartment empty.

– Police warned Ronald Tice, East Main Street, at 8:55 a.m. Saturday for riding his four-wheeler behind his house.

– Susan Wagner, South Market Street, reported at 10:11 a.m. Saturday she was almost hit at the North Market Street and North Avenue intersection by someone in a silver Chevy or Toyota vehicle that ran the traffic light. Police checked but did not find the vehicle.

– James Meek requested at 3:18 p.m. Saturday police go to his mother’s home on Alice Street to assist with problems with a family member there.

– Jennifer Bable, East Clark Street, reported at 7:14 p.m. Saturday kids were throwing rocks at her home.

– Lisa Starkey, West Clark Street, reported at 6 a.m. Sunday she came home to find her apartment vandalized and believes she knows who is responsible.

Salem

– Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at 7:18 a.m. Friday when a vehicle operated by George A. Zeigler, 956 South Ave., was northbound through a stop sign after coming to a stop at East Pershing Street when the vehicle operated by Shad R. Clever, 669 S. Union Ave., was westbound on Pershing and struck the right rear of Zeigler’s vehicle causing disabling damage. Clever was cited for failure to yield.

– At 10:28 p.m. Saturday, police responded to multiple locations to assist Columbiana County deputies in locating people with outstanding warrants. Francine L. Pimental, 605 E. 7th St., was taken into custody by deputies.

– At 9:45 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 200 block of Hawley Avenue for a civil matter and child custody interference. The woman complainant said the father took his child without permission and left the residence. They were located at another residence in the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and police advised the man of the custody laws and he gave the child back to the complainant. They were both advised to seek legal counsel.

– At 9:10 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 600 block of East State Street regarding several vehicles parked in the area and individuals were yelling at passing traffic. Police talked to several people in the municipal lot off of Sugar Tree Alley and were advised of the complaint. They said there had not been a disturbance but a car drove by honking its horn.

– At 8:15 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 400 block of Washington Avenue regarding a neighbor dispute and spoke to both sides advising them of the options.

– Police responded to the 900 block of Jones Drive at 8 p.m. Saturday for a harassing phone call report. The complainant advised a female has been harassing her and two others and wanted it to stop. An officer spoke to the other woman and advised her to cease. She said that would not be a problem.

– At 5:29 p.m. Saturday, police made a well-being check in the area of East Pershing Street and South Lincoln Avenue for a female who appeared disoriented and was not wearing a coat despite the cold temperatures. Police located several females in the area not wearing jackets and all appeared to be OK.

– At 5:24 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of East State Street where the store clerk advised that a female had taken an iPhone charger and a bottle of pop. The incident is under investigation.

– Police and fire department personnel made a well-being check in the 500 block of East 4th Street at 9:10 a.m. Saturday and the person was fine.

– At 10:33 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of W. State Street for a report of an intoxicated driver in a red pickup and were unable to locate it.

– At 11:44 a.m. Saturday, police investigating a traffic crash in the 2300 block of East State Street, learned the driver of one vehicle ran off on foot southbound toward East Pershing Street Police went to the owner’s residence and found the owner had not given permission to take or use his vehicle. A vehicle theft/unauthorized use form was completed. Upon further investigation it was learned the driver was the son of the owner and the insurance on the vehicle was in the son’s name but listed as the owner. The vehicle owner then advised he did not want to pursue the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charge.

– At 12:36 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2300 block of East State Street for a report of theft and the complainant advised her employees contacted her and reported money missing when the business was opened. The incident is under investigation.

POLICE

County Sheriff

-Kim Davis, Leetonia Road, Leetonia, reported at 2:20 p.m. Friday that on Monday, someone used her Chase credit card to make a $113.71 purchase at Walmart.com . She contacted Chase bank , and they are issuing her a new card.

-Darren Ketchum, West Point, called at 9:08 p.m. Friday, in regards to questions he had about an upcoming inmate release. The deputy on duty advised that he would call with answers to the questions on Saturday.

-An deputy was dispatched to Frame Worx Collision at 9:23 a.m. Friday in regards to a towing accident on private property. Jason Hartline parked a 1986 Chevy tow truck that had a line lock attached. The line lock came loose, which sent the truck forward down a small part of a private driveway, and state Route 172. The truck came to a stop in a field. No one was in the truck and there were no injuries.

-Sally Stamp, Whinnery Road, Hanoverton, called at 1:24 p.m. Saturday to report that the boys that live across the street were shooting at her cat with a pellet gun. A pellet hit the cat. One boy claimed that he didn’t when he was confronted by her. Another said that he was sorry and that he wouldn’t bring his gun out again. She wants a report on file.

-Eugene Schrock, Leetonia Road, called to report suspicious footprints at 1:05 p.m. Saturday. The footprints led up to his neighbor’s front door and to the rear of her house by the kitchen window. Due to his neighbor’s marital status, he found this odd.

-Alex Thompson, Butler Grange, called at 2:35 p.m. Saturday to discuss garbage bags that are laying along the road. Thompson was advised to call the garbage company that takes care of her road.

Highway Patrol

-At 6:03 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, Carl Williamson, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, was traveling east on U.S. Route 30 in West Township on his motorcycle. He attempted to pass a vehicle on a curve and drove off the left hand side of the road. He avoided the other vehicle but was overturned and struck a tree. He was thrown from the motorcycle. He was taken by EMS to Mercy Hospital.

-Virginia Viets, East Lincoln Way, was traveling westbound on state Route 517 in Elk Run at 12:30 p.m. and hit a deer. The deer was killed on impact. ODOT was notified.

-Jared Stevenson, West Salem Street, was traveling Westbound on state Route 14 in Unity at 9:50 Tuesday, when he struck a deer.

-David Faloba, Woodville Road, was eastbound on St. Jacob-Logtown Road 4:00 a.m. Friday when he drove off the road and hit a ditch. He was charged with operating without reasonable control.

Columbiana

-At 2:24 a.m. Friday two officers checked a suspicious gray Mitsubishi with two individuals inside that was parked at Columbiana Self Storage on Friday. After speaking with the people in the car, the officers determined that everything was okay.

-A resident of North Main Street called at 3:27 p.m. Friday to report that a suspicious person was banging on her door and trying to get in. No one was there when the officer arrived. It’s believed to be her ex-boyfriend.

-Richard Hura, Court Street, called at 3:47 p.m. Friday to report that his home was broken into.

East Palestine

-At 2:25 p.m. Thursday, an officer reported to East Palestine Middle School after being called for a student who had been absent and tardy for an excessive number of days. An investigation is pending.

-Booke Gedeon, West Clark Street, reported at 9:14 a.m. Thursday that all four of her car’s tires were slashed.

-A caller reported at 1:51 p.m. Thursday that a baby carriage with a child inside was parked on the sidewalk with no adult around. She realized quickly that everything was alright and said not to send anyone to help.

-Lindy Reidy, state Route 170 reported at 4:47 p.m. Thursday that she received a call from a male saying that a warrant was out for her arrest. She knew it was a scam but wanted it on file.

-Carmen Chick, Grandview Avenue, called at 4:57 p.m. Thursday in regards to his ex-wife not letting his children see him. His attorney told him to have each time she denied him visitation documented. The police officer who spoke to Chick will speak to his ex-wife shortly.

Salem

– At 3:32 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 2700 block of East State Street for a report of a suicidal man with a knife. He was located near Butcher Road and the East Pershing Street extension. He advised officers several times he was suicidal and he had a knife. Police took the knife without incident and transported him the hospital where he was pink slipped by police.

– Police patrolling in the 100 block of Highland Avenue at 3:11 a.m. Saturday observed unknown people throwing eggs at the driver’s side of a vehicle. Contact was made with the vehicle owner, and they were advised of the officer’s findings.

– At 8:51 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue for a report of a suspicious odor and were unable to detect anything suspicious.

– At 8:10 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street for a suspicious person report and were unable to immediately locate the person in his apartment. A resident told police where he was. The person was heavily intoxicated and threatening to cause harm to himself and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

– At 5:25 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 400 block of East Eighth Street regarding a report of juveniles in the street blocking traffic. They were advised to stay on the sidewalk.

– At 11:03 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 600 block of West Wilson Street for an intoxicated person but were unable to locate female in pajamas and brown jacket. She was reported walking towards the railroad tracks.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– While on patrol in Lisbon at 6:17 p.m. Thursday deputies noticed a vehicle involved in a previous burglary near Circle K in Lisbon. Deputies followed the vehicle on state Route 172 and stopped it west of Wayne Bridge Road. The driver appeared to the one, who had broken into a house. He had a cut on his left pointer finger and blood on his clothing. Detectives interviewed the man and a woman, who was the passenger. Deputies checked a backpack and found two hypodermic syringes and a hammerhead with a piece of broken handle.

– A woman on Old state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 5:07 p.m. Thursday her daughters are receiving unwanted text messages from an inmate at the Elkton prison. She had already contacted the prison and they were reportedly investigating the matter. Deputies told the mother to save all the messages and block the number.

– Eric Pagant, Fredericktown Clarkson Road, Negley, reported at 6:45 p.m. Thursday he is feeling threatened by people reading a Facebook post from a woman suggesting Pagant took her brother to buy drugs. Pagant said he was with her brother when he began to have medical issues and is currently in a custody dispute as well.

Lisbon

– A resident of Apple Grove apartments reported Tuesday that Vickie Waite keeps walking into her apartment without knocking and asking her for cigarettes, money and rides and calling her nasty names. She said Waite has also threatened her. The caller also said the 20 other tenants are also upset with Waite, and she has talked about obtaining a protection order against Waite.

Center Township

– Ryan Gruszecki reported Friday some neighborhood dogs were barking, and police spoke to the owner who said they will do their best to keep the dogs quiet.

– Roberta A. Ieropoli was driving about 7:45 a.m. Friday on state Route 172 when she went off the road and into a ditch. She was taken by ambulance to local hospital.

Columbiana

– Crystal Boggs reported at 8:54 a.m. Thursday dogs at a Fairfield Avenue home had been barking since 7:30 a.m. that morning. Police checked and found no one was home. The homeowner was contacted and she told police she would have it taken care of. It was found the dog was barking due to a construction worker flagging traffic for roadwork that was being done in that area.

– A solicitor’s permit was issued to Kathy Reash of South Bayshore Drive at 2:23 p.m. Thursday.

– Salem police requested assistance at 9:48 p.m. Thursday with finding a man involved in a crime that happened in their city that day.

Salem

– Police were called at 7:09 a.m. Friday to the corner of South Lincoln Avenue and Summit Street for a well-being check after a woman said her granddaughter was being harassed by another student while waiting for the bus at the bus stop. An officer stayed in the area until students got on the bus.

– An officer on patrol at 5:45 a.m. Friday came across damage to two yards in the 800 block of Jennings where it appeared a vehicle traveling north lost control and veered off the road going through two yards and causing damage.

– Police were called at 3:10 a.m. Friday to the 700 block of East State Street for a hit/skip accident where a vehicle ran over street signs and a fire hydrant. Police found that a vehicle traveling east ran off the right side of the road, running over a street sign in the 700 block, then continued east on State and ran off the road to the left at the northeast corner of State and Vine Avenue, running over a crosswalk sign and knocking over a fire hydrant. The vehicle continued east and left the area. The water department was notified and shut off the water and a note was left for traffic & safety to replace the street signs. The vehicle could not be located.

– An unknown dispute was reported at 12:01 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of West Wilson Street where a male said he had an argument with his ex-girlfriend, who left before police arrived. The argument was over her picking their child up after consuming alcohol and then leaving. He was unsure if she was driving. Officers contacted her later and she said a friend drove her and the child home.

– A domestic in progress was reported at 8:22 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of South Lundy Avenue between a grandmother and her juvenile granddaughter. The two had an argument and one pushed the other. The father of the juvenile was contacted and responded to remove the girl from the home for the night.

– Rachel M. Seals, 37, of 406 Somer St., Leetonia, was charged with theft after police were called at 8:19 p.m. Thursday to Family Dollar, 239 W. State St., for an alleged shoplifter. An employee said a female attempted to leave without paying for an item that had been stuffed down her shirt. Seals was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County jail.

– Police responded at 7:03 p.m. Thursday to the corner of North Lundy Avenue and Fourth Street for a report of a man down. The man had reportedly fallen out of his vehicle and was laying in the street. Officers arrived and found the man had fallen and struck his head while attempting to exit the motor vehicle. Fire department first responders and KLG also responded and he was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center.

– Police responded to Salem Regional Medical Center at 6:22 p.m. Thursday for a report of a combative patient who left the facility after being pink slipped, or brought there for an evaluation. Officers located the patient at a family member’s residence and he was transported by ambulance back to the emergency room.

– A well-being check was requested at 5:58 p.m. Thursday on a female in the 900 block of Jones Drive. The report said the female had possibly reported a problem at her work place and then had not been heard from. No contact was made after police checked the location.

– A customer left without paying for $15.20 worth of fuel at Smith Oil on East State Street at 4:21 p.m. Thursday.

– A resident on Shady Lane reported at 1:15 p.m. Thursday that someone entered his vehicle overnight and went through it, but nothing was reported missing. He just wanted police to be aware.

– Two juvenile males were reportedly walking east on East 12th Street and were throwing rocks into the Salem Community Center parking lot at 3:17 p.m. Thursday. They were not found.

Perry Township

– Police and township firefighters responded at 12:49 a.m. Friday to the 1200 block of East 12th Street along with KLG Ambulance for a medical call.

– An officer on patrol at 9:19 p.m. Thursday located an unlocked door at Adele’s Restaurant. A keyholder responded to secure the door.

– Police checked the area of state Route 45/U.S. Route 62 at 7:33 p.m. Thursday for a vehicle traveling without any license plates, but couldn’t locate it.

– A possible fight/argument between two females was reported at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of West Perry Street. Both females told police nothing happened and that their conversation became a yelling match, that was all.

– Police are investigating a report at 5:11 p.m. Thursday of unauthorized use of a debit card by a health care worker from a resident under care in the 1100 block of West Perry Street. The account was debited for $283.50 without the account holder’s permission.

– Township police were requested to assist the Columbiana County Drug Task Force at 2:44 p.m. Thursday while they were conducting an investigation and interviews in the 400 block of Benton Road.

– A resident in the 1300 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 1:50 p.m. Thursday that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and removed an unknown amount of cash and a cell phone.

– A deputy on state Route 14 saw a spotlight on a utility truck at Rollerena was on at 5:36 a.m. Thursday. The light was turned off and the truck secured.

– Patricia Bilsky, state Route 164, Leetonia, reported at 6:51 p.m. Wednesday a man was riding a bicycle and looking into peoples’ mailboxes. Deputies checked the area, but did not find him.

– Regina Kupskey, East Terrace Drive, Wellsville, reported a suspicious vehicle in the area at 3:47 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies did not find anyone out of the ordinary.

– A Wellsville woman reported at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday her 17-year-old grandson, whom she has custody of, has been abusive toward her, goes into rages, damages her home and refused to go to school.

– James Muse, state Route 154, Negley, reported at 8:37 a.m. Wednesday someone told him there were up to 18 ATVs on his property Stateline Resources last Sunday, even though he has placed gates at every entrance.

Highway Patrol

– Gary L. Colella, 61, state Route 7, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday and hit a tree that was in the road.

– Daniel Bernard Wilson, 49, Lansing, Mich., was eastbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and struck debris that was in the road.

– Rob Edward Davis, 18, Country Club Lane, Salem, was westbound on U.S. 62 in Butler Township at 3:45 p.m. Monday and Connor Douglas Sharp, 21, Winona Road, Salem, was eastbound and Shelby Lynn Strawser, 19, Beloit, was northbound on Morris Street and Sharp struck Davis as Davis attempted to turn left on Morris Street. Davis then struck Strawser after being struck by Sharp. Davis was cited for right of way turning left.

– Virginia D. Viets, 71, East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was westbound on state Route 517 in Elkrun Township at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and hit a deer.

Columbiana

– Vickie Dailey, North Elm Street, reported at 10:28 a.m. Tuesday a tree fell sometime during the night and damaged several cars.

– Mary Waggle, East Friend Street, reported identity theft at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday.

East Palestine

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle on Leslie Road at 9:39 p.m. Tuesday. The two occupants said they were just talking and there were no problems. Police told them to move along.

– Someone reported at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday that while walking through the courtyard at 105 E. Main St. he could smell marijuana coming from one of the apartments. Police went to the courtyard but did not smell anything but were able to diffuse a potential problem between several people who were moving from one of the other apartments. The group was engaged in a loud argument when police arrived and the officer suggested they resolve their differences in a more reasonable tone.

– Stephanie Rimoldi reported at 8:52 a.m. Tuesday someone had possibly cut her car tires with a small bladed knife while it was parked at 105 E. Main St.

– Kayleena Leah Smith, West Clark Street, reported at 6:41 p.m. Sunday her mother and her sister were giving her a hard time about getting her property as she was moving out of the house. Kierra Raynes also reported that while helping Smith move out Smith’s mother and sister threatened her by stating they were gong to call children’s services on her and have her child taken away. Police told the group to stay way from each other due to a lack of evidence for charges to be filed.

– An Irwin Avenue resident reported at 4:17 p.m. Sunday two boys were riding dirt bikes on private property off Irwin Avenue. Police warned the boys to not ride there.

– A West Clark Street property owner reported at 8:49 a.m. Sunday that he checked on the house and found that someone had a fire in a fire pit in the back yard the night before and there were also several items of drug paraphernalia there. Police went and confiscated the items.

– A 17-year-old boy was arrested for OVI following a traffic stop on Sebring Street at 2:11 a.m. Sunday. Charges are also pending through juvenile court for drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

– New Waterford police requested back up with a traffic stop in New Waterford at 1:26 p.m. Saturday because the driver was acting strange. Once on scene police found there was no problem.

– Jerrold Gurney, Wood Street, reported at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday that while walking through the apartments at 105 E. Main St. he could smell marijuana.

– George and Adam Faulkner reported at 11:17 a.m. Tuesday their stolen quads were possibly across from the walking trail on state Route 15.

– Rusty Hargreaves, Wood Street, reported at noon Tuesday a man backed into his girlfriend’s car in front of the Huntington Bank.

– Dave Dunlap, West North Avenue, reported at 1:31 p.m. Tuesday trash and plastic jugs from a neighboring house were blowing all over the neighborhood and they have trash cans with no lids and recycling containers.

– Jim Meek, South Forbes Street, reported at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday his nephew is tearing up his field behind his mother’s house.

– Wayne Hughes, Alice Street, reported at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday someone damaged his garage.

Salem

– A woman called at 6:35 a.m. Thursday to report finding a bundle of miscellaneous credit cards scattered throughout the parking lot of Waterworth Memorial Park off of Sunset. An officer retrieved the cards which were returned to the owner.

– Marc Sheely, 26, of 191 S. Union Ave., was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday at East State Street and Washington Avenue. The warrant out of Columbiana County was for failure to appear. He was taken to the county jail by a sheriff’s deputy. Police initiated the traffic stop for a fictitious plates violation, finding that the driver was not the vehicle owner and giving the driver a verbal warning for the violation. Upon investigation, police determined the male passenger, identified as Sheely, had an warrant for his arrest.

– An anonymous resident in the 500 block of Cedar Street reported at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday that someone damaged a pickup parked in the driveway. The driver side sustained numerous scratches and the bed cover rails were pried off either side of the truck bed. It also appeared as if the person was trying to get into the driver side door, with evidence of chipped paint.

– A woman in the 600 block of Euclid Street reported at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday that her daughter’s ex-husband and his new girlfriend have been harassing her and her daughter. One of them created a fake social media account using her daughter’s pictures. She was told to make a complaint with the social media organization and to contact her attorney for legal advice. The incident is under investigation.

– An assault which occurred Tuesday in the 100 block of West Pershing Street was reported at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday and is under investigation.

– A woman from the 200 block of East Eighth Street reported a possible case of identity theft at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday. Information was gathered and she was given several options.

– A woman from the 400 block of West Fourth Street reported a possible scam involving an online loan company at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Information was gathered and she was advised of several options.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Wednesday night to Cartwright Street where Elizabeth Pugh, 34, said she confronted her live-in boyfriend, Mark A. Brewer, 39, about smoking crack. She said he became enraged and picked up the glass and wood coffee table, striking her in the face and chest with it. Brewer told officers he was sleeping when Pugh struck him in the face with her fist, after which he smashed the table on the floor, although he denied touching her. Four children were in the home at the time, according to reports. Pugh and Cartwright were charged with domestic violence.

St. Clair Township

– While southbound on St. Clair Avenue, a vehicle driven by Tammy L. Linkous, 48, Smithfield Street, East Liverpool, was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Hayward B. Washington, 61, 15th Street, Wellsville. Linkous and her passenger, Anneta E. Saling, 81, state Route 267, East Liverpool, were transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Lifeteam ambulance. Washington was cited for expired license.

Lisbon

– The fire department responded to a burning complaint in the 6300 section of state Route 45 at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday, but no fire was found.

POLICE

Lisbon

– Angie McElroy called at 9:17 a.m. Sunday in regard to a child custody dispute. McElroy said her daughter’s father was arrested during the night and the child was left with his girlfriend’s mother on East Chestnut Street but she wanted her. Police checked with the county public assistance office and learned McElroy could not have her child without supervision, and then police told her that. By then, the child’s grandparents had arrived and took custody of their granddaughter, but police were told that could not happen since McElroy could visit. The girl was returned to the girlfriend’s mother and left there.

– A caller reported a woman was stumbling down the sidewalk on North Market Street at 2 p.m. Sunday, and the person was identified as Vicki Waite, who told police she was on her way home. She did not smell of alcohol but she did have trouble walking, so the officer gave her a ride home.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 1:31 a.m. Tuesday there were dogs barking in the area of 56 N. Pearl St. Police spoke with the residents at 56 and 75 N. Pearl St. about their dogs.

– Leah Prescott, North Main Street, reported at 10 a.m. Tuesday there was an unauthorized transaction on an account.

– Allen Brownfield, East Liverpool, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.

– Beaver Township police reported at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday vehicles were passing an Amish horse and buggy on state Route 46 and it was causing a traffic hazard. Police found the buggy was properly lighted and the vehicles were passing in a safe manner.

East Liverpool

– Sarah L. Eddy, no address listed, reported her daughter has been beaten up by the same girl since fifth grade and she has had enough. She told police her daughter was assaulted again recently and it was captured on video, which she took to high school officials, who assured her they would take care of the matter. However, her daughter was assaulted again twice over the next two days. Police are investigating.

– Jeanean Burkett, no address listed, reported she parked her mother’s car in the parking lot of Heights Manor overnight and someone scratched writing on the door, scratched the windshield and flattened three tires.

Perry Township

– A domestic dispute was reported at 9:19 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of West Pidgeon Road. The dispute was reportedly over property in the household between a recently separated couple. Nothing physical occurred and the male half had left for the evening.

– Police were called at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday to check on a small dirt bike/ATV type vehicle driving up and down in the area of Liberty Street and Hartley Avenue. An officer patrolled the area for several minutes, but was unable to find the vehicle.

– Police responded at 10:59 a.m. Tuesday to Campf’s, 1859 Depot Road, where a piece of equipment had its windshield shot out with a pellet gun.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Acres in the 1100 block of Prospect Street where a woman said she had an ongoing issue with a neighbor and on Tuesday morning, she located scratch marks on her vehicle parked in front of her residence. She believed the neighbor’s children caused the damage, but could not prove it. She said she’s currently in contact with the manager of the complex about the neighbor problem, along with speaking with a representative from Columbus in charge of Salem Acres.

Salem

– An officer at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday responded to the 100 block of Rose Avenue to check on a suspicious smell in the hallways, but only smelled what appeared to be cigarette smoke. The officer spoke with three out of four apartment tenants and they smelled the odor once but not at this time.

-A woman called at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday to report being unable to make contact with her son who resides in the 600 block of Park Avenue. An officer responded to the address and made contact with the son who said everything was fine.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of West Wilson Street where a woman said her boyfriend forced his way into the residence and was removing property. Both parties reside there and are in the process of separating. The male said he was only removing personal property. No physical violence was reported and he left. Police had been called there also at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday for a domestic dispute.

– An officer at 2:36 a.m. Wednesday responded to the 2300 block of East State Street for an open garage door at a local tire shop. The officer checked the building and nobody was inside. The garage door was secured and the owner notified.

– Steven Baddeley Jr., 21, of 663 W. Wilson St., was cited for no headlights and driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 1:32 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Brooklyn and Cleveland Street.

– An audible alarm was reported at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Salem Community Center, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave., where police found an unsecured door, which was then secured. The interior was checked with the keyholder and the rest of the building was secure.

– An alarm was reported in the 1200 block of Quaker Circle at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday. The exterior was checked and found secure.

– Police responded to the area of the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue at 8:02 p.m. Tuesday for 911 hangup calls originating from a cell phone in the area. The calls were coming from the 600 block of East Third Street street and police learned a child had obtained the phone and made the calls prior to an adult realizing it. An officer affirmed that all was fine at the residence.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Stone Castle Trail, but none was found.

-An officer on patrol at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday was southbound on North Ellsworth Avenue preparing to turn east onto East Sixth Street when a vehicle stopped at the stop sign on East Sixth Street facing west and began to turn, nearly striking the cruiser. The motorist saw the cruiser just in time and was able to stop without the two vehicles making contact. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was fine, but given a warning.

– A woman in the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue reported at 5:44 p.m. Tuesday that she was having problems with her juvenile daughter, who left before police arrived. The father said he located the girl up the street and brought her home but she’s refusing to get out of the car. An officer spoke with the father and daughter. It was determined she would go with him to work for the evening to avoid further problems.

– A suspicious truck was reported at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday on West 14th Street where an officer learned it was a cable TV contractor working in the area.

– A woman from Leetonia reported at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday that she was at Walmart shopping when a female approached her and began harassing her. She was told her options for dealing with the situation.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 4:18 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Franklin Avenue. No physical violence occurred. One of the people said he was going to spend the rest of the day at a family member’s home.

– Officers responded at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday to Mullins Park on South Lincoln Avenue for a report of juveniles damaging the park. A male juvenile said he swung one of the swings so that it wrapped around the support, however he had not damaged anything. The officer saw no damage and the juvenile voluntarily unwound the swing.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Alan Kupski, East Terrace Drive, Wellsville, reported there was a suspicious vehicle in the area at 3:19 a.m. Tuesday. A deputy arrived but did not find any vehicle in the area and then shined a spotlight at some garages and homes to determine if they had been broken into. There was no signs of any such activity.

– Gary Pitman of Michel Energy Services of Denver reported Tuesday an employ-ee given a rental car by the company to drive here from Colorado is refusing to return the car. Pitman was told to file a report with police in Colorado, and if they issue a warrant, the sheriff’s office will be able to act.

– An East Liverpool woman reported at 7:49 p.m. Monday her husband was threatening to kill himself and do it in the Yellow Creek area. Deputies and Saline Township police in Jefferson County checked the area but did not find him or his vehicle. Using the man’s cellphone, deputies determined the man was at a home on Dakota Street in East Liverpool. The wife called back to say she located her husband and he was fine.

– Cynthia Maier, McCann Road, Salem, reported Monday that while she was at the Guilford Grille on Saturday night there was a drunken woman on the dance floor who fell. Maier said she helped the woman to her feet and later discovered her engagement and wedding rings were missing, and she believes the woman stole them from her when she helped her up.

– Louise Crane, Rauch Road, East Palestine, reported $147 in clothing she ordered online from Macy’s was delivered by UPS but she checked and the package was gone.

– Bob Luketic, Wilderson Avenue, East Palestine, reported Feb. 22 his brother is always harassing him and his family, and now he is spreading rumors about his business. Luketic said he will go back to court to obtain a protection order to replace the one that expired.

Highway Patrol

– Jack B. Black, 57, Lisbon Dungannon Road, Lisbon, was backing onto Lisbon-Dungannon Road in Center Township at 9:13 p.m. Feb. 24 and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– David G. Parker, 29, Bayshore Drive, Columbiana, was driving northwest on Peace Valley Road in Unity Township at 4 p.m. Sunday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control and arrested for OVI and possession of marijuana.

Lisbon

– Kenneth Geer, 32, Elk Avenue, Lisbon, was cited for marijuana possession following a traffic stop near the BP station at 2:10 a.m. Sunday. A small bag of marijuana was found in the car being driven by Geer, but he said he did not know to whom it belonged but would take responsibility since it was his car.

– A clerk at the Days Inn reported there was vehicle with its engine running and lights on in the parking lot at 6:10 a.m. Sunday. Police spoke to the driver, who said he worked in the oil and gas field and was waiting for a co-worker. Nothing seemed suspicious, so police left.

– A loud music complaint was received on the 500 block of North Jefferson Street at 1:28 a.m. Sunday, but the music had been turned down by the time police arrived and police were unable to contact the tenants believed to be responsible.

– A semi-truck reportedly clipped electrical wires on lower North Beaver Street at 9 a.m. Feb. 26 but it kept going. Police arrived and did not find any damage.

Columbiana

– A West Railroad Street woman reported at 3:42 p.m. Monday a neighbor took some unknown pills.

– Keri Kelly, West Friend, reported at 5 p.m. Monday the ex-wife of her boyfriend has visitation with the kids from 5 to 8 p.m. and she was just sitting with them in a car out front. Police found the car was legally parked and no crime had been committed.

– A Summit County Coroner’s investigator asked at 10:19 p.m. Monday police attempt to find the next of kin at a South Middle Street home for a person who died in a motor vehicle accident in that county. Police went to the home but the residents were not familiar with the family the investigator was looking for.

New Waterford

– On Feb. 29, police received a call from the village administrator advising that someone had taken a road barrel belonging to the street department, valued at approximately $150, from Front Street.

– At 2 p.m. Monday, police took a stolen cell phone complaint from a resident in the 3200 block of Creek Road. The complainant said he left it in his vehicle in the driveway and believes it was stolen. He could not provide the phone model or serial number and was advised police would provide a report if his cell phone provider needed one.

At 3:03 p.m. Sunday, police were flagged down by a female who advised a man dressed in black was walking down North State Street with what appeared to be a large knife. Police located the person near Spruce Street and observed an approximately 10-inch knife in a sheath. He said that a month ago in Boardman he was almost mugged and began carrying the knife for protection. Police advised him it was not illegal, but recommended he carry something smaller as a normal-sized pocket knife, and further, he could be cited for inducing a panic if he continued to carry a bladed weapon of that size. He said he would start to carry a smaller knife if any at all.

– At 5:24 p.m. Feb. 23, police responded to the department regarding a phone harassment complaint of the complainant’s granddaughter over a ongoing situation with another girl. Police advised both parties that all communication between the two families was to cease immediately and the two girls were to have no contact with each other.

Salem

– A woman contacted police at 11:31 a.m. Tuesday about harassment, saying a person known to her has driven past her residence and appeared to be following her while she was driving. The address on the report was Buckeye Avenue. She was told her options.

– Officers responded to the 400 block of Aetna Street at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday and met with a resident who said there are at least four and possibly more stray cats smelling up the outside. His cat goes to the vet and is taken care of. Now there are cats all over and he wanted to know about getting them out of the neighborhood. He said the smell was to the north side of the property and around the yard and driveway area. He said he was going to call the humane officer and see if she could help. The officer was going to check with the humane officer to see if she could come and get the cats picked up.

– The owner of Suburban Market, 667 New Garden Ave., reported at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday that a check was presented there on Sunday and was found to have been stolen from a female in Perry Township. An officer talked with the owner of the check and advised her to contact her local police department for the theft. She had already contacted her bank and was having the checks stopped. The matter will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review for possible charges on the person who cashed the check at the business.

– Officers and Salem firefighters responded at 11:48 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of Prospect Street for an open burning complaint. The owner was contacted and open burning laws were explained. The fire was put out by the fire department.

– A resident of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 7:35 p.m. Monday that he was approached at the Salem Memorial Building by a known female who made a derogatory comment about his female friend. An officer called and spoke to the friend who said the female who approached had been making derogatory comments about her for some time. The officer advised her the incident Monday was not criminal in nature but would be documented.

– A resident in the 1400 block of Ridgewood Drive reported at 5:33 p.m. Monday that a person had been making posts about her on social media. An officer spoke to the person and they said they would stop.

– A dog at large was reported at 5:25 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Woodland Avenue. Officers located the animal and made contact at the residence. The roommate of the owner secured the animal and the officer gave them a warning about the dog at large ordinance.

Perry Township

– Bryan Shantee, 41, of Homewood Avenue, Salem, was cited for speeding, drug possession (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia (marijuana) after a traffic stop on West Pershing Street at Georgetown Road at 7:38 p.m. Monday.

– A woman on Manor Drive reported at 11:56 a.m. Monday that she was getting phone calls from a company advising her she won a new car and that she needed to give them the bank information so they could send her a check to buy the car. She refused to give out the information to the caller who then called several more times attempting to get the information.

East Liverpool

– An Avondale Street woman complained that voices from inside her walls were telling a man to assault her, cut her up and throw her in the river. She said he had not touched her but that, if the voices keep telling him to do so, he may. The man told officers the woman is nuts and he will not touch her.

– Terry A. Michael, 45, East Fourth Street, had stopped to turn left into an alley between the church and Vista Motel while on West Eighth Street when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Cory W. Gooch, 39, Toronto. No charges or injuries were reported.

St. Clair Township

– A South Hollywood Drive resident reported he saw three men walk up the driveway and bust out a window after knocking on the door several times. He asked for extra checks around the house.

-Officials of McKinney Furniture, state Route 170, reported locks cut off two storage units. Nothing was reported missing or damaged.

– Amy L. Dowd, no address listed, reported an unknown woman identifying herself as Margie called her from St. Elizabeth Hospital asking if she was home because she had some paperwork for her to sign. When Dowd told the caller she didn’t know what she was talking about and not to come to her home, the woman became aggressive and stated she would arrive in 20 minutes.

– Officers responded to Wyoming Avenue, where Justin Barrett reported Dana McGilvary was pounding on the windows of the home. McGilvary told officers she wanted to speak to a man inside about their 1-year-old child and she began yelling for him to come outside. Justin Barrett came out and said he did not want her on the property, giving her a phone to call for a ride. She again began knocking on the windows, saying the man inside had the phone number for her friend. Officers gave McGilvary a ride to a St. Clair Avenue address.

– Officers responded to the rear of Giant Eagle for a report of a man arguing with himself near the recycling bins. They checked the area and spoke to witnesses who said the man was smoking something and had left about 10 minutes prior to officers’ arrival. They checked the area but did not locate the man.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Shannon Gates reported at 3:46 p.m. Sunday there was a vehicle parked at the end of her parents’ driveway on Gavers Road, Hanoverton. The registration came back to Brenda Thomas of New Waterford, who said she sold the Jeep the week before to Jerry Jackson, who could not be reached. The deputy told Gates she could have the vehicle towed, but she said her parents were going to wait a few days to see if someone comes for the vehicle.

– Samantha Muniz, Stroup Road, Hanoverton, reported at 9 p.m. Sunday that someone in a pickup truck drove back on the road on her property leading to a cellphone tower and then left.

– A deputy was called to a home on Elkton Road, Lisbon, at 9:40 p.m. Sunday in regard to an unruly juvenile, and the deputy told the 17-year-old boy he must mind his parents until he turns 18.

– Steven Byers, Lower Elkton Road, New Waterford, reported being assaulted by his brother at 6:12 p.m. Sunday. The brother gave a conflicting story, so the matter was referred to the county prosecutor’s office to sort out.

– Jordan Phillips, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, reported at 6:24 p.m. Sunday her daughter and oldest daughter’s boyfriend were walking home from the store when a vehicle attempted to run them off the road. The people in the vehicle were reportedly known to the people along the road. The matter remains under investigation.

– Elizabeth Hargreaves, Walnut Street, Rogers, reported Sunday receiving harassing text messages from someone she once lived with. Hargreaves did not want to file charges, so the deputy told her to block the number and also told her how to go about obtaining a restraining order.

– Brian Bell, Spillway Road, Guilford Lake, reported his girlfriend borrowed his vehicle at 7 p.m. Saturday and had yet to return it by 5 p.m. Sunday. He said she told him the vehicle was broken down and now at her father’s shop but would not say where that was. A stolen vehicle report was filed.

– A caller reported someone on Pancake-Clarkson Road, Rogers, reported explosives were being set off at 3:37 p.m. Sunday. Police arrived and spoke with Brandon and Nathaniel Newman, who said they were target shooting behind the house. Rifles were found laying out and, judging by the backdrop, they were shooting in a safe direction.

– Robert Black, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported Friday receiving harassing text messages from his ex-wife. The deputy spoke with her, and she denied harassing him and said she was only contacting him in regard to matters about their children.

– Ian Wellington, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, was cited for driving with fictitious license plates following a traffic stop at the Valley View convenience store in Lisbon at 10:41 p.m. Friday.

– Ryan Morris, Oakwood Road, Lisbon, reported Saturday Greg Shasteen has his fishing poles and he would like them back. The deputy spoke to Shasteen, who said Morris showed up at his home and was causing problems. The fishing poles were turned over to Morris, who was told he was no longer welcome at Shasteen’s house.

Highway Patrol

– While northbound on state Route 7 in Liverpool Township Sunday night, a trooper saw a vehicle make a lane change, crossing over the edge line, and made a traffic stop. He reported the driver, Damarlon Wise, East Liverpool, had bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech and the vehicle smelled of alcohol. Wise reportedly said he had drank one shot and one beer at My Bar in Wellsville, which he had just left. The officer called for a K-9 unit, saying he had made a traffic stop earlier in the evening in which illegal narcotics were found after the vehicle had just come from the same bar. Wellsville’s K-9 officer Chief alerted on Wise’s vehicle, and 18 individually wrapped bags of marijuana were reportedly found underneath the rear passenger seat where Antoinne Wade El Fluker, 24, Ambrose Avenue, East Liverpool, had been seated. Also found was a loaded .357-caliber revolver under the passenger seat, and Fluker reportedly claimed both the marijuana and weapon as his, saying he had the gun because he had been told someone wanted to kill him. He also had a large amount of cash on his person, according to reports. The money was given to his uncle, Wade Tookes, who was the other rear seat passenger. Tookes and another passenger were not charged and were given a ride to the Giant Eagle in East Liverpool and dropped off. Wise was cited for OVI, while Fluker was charged with trafficking in drugs and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

– Brianne D. Frank, 36, East Third, Salem, was northbound on Cunningham Road in Perry Township at 2:40 p.m. Thursday and Paul E. Triplett, 38, Lisbon-Dun-gannon Road, Lisbon, was southbound and they struck outside mirrors as they passed. No citations were issued.

– Elina A. Joy, 50, Wedgewood Street, East Liverpool, was southbound on Clarks Mill Road in Washington Township at 9:15 a.m. Friday and went left of center into John W. Vennun, 46, Hazel Run Road, Hammondsville, who was northbound. Joy was cited for lanes of travel.

– Lee Chester Davidson, 31, state Route 7, Columbiana, was westbound on state Route 14 in Beaver Township, Mahoning County, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and went off the right side into a ditch to avoid Pauline A. Spratt, 78, East 10th Street, Salem, who pulled from a stop sign on Old state Route 14. No citations were issued due to lack of evidence.

– Joseph M. Vasko, 34, Whippoorwill Avenue, Hanoverton, was southbound on Depot Road in Butler Township at 10 p.m. Wednesday and hit a deer.

Columbiana

– A South Main woman reported at 9:31 a.m. Sunday a dog was running loose in the area. Police checked but did not find the dog.

– Earl Stokes, Union Street, reported at 1:31 p.m. Sunday someone was “tagging” on his property using a magic marker.

– Lucien R. Collins, Union Street, reported at 1:51 p.m. Sunday someone was “tagging” on his property using a magic marker.

– Lyndsey Baird, state Route 14, reported at 2:25 p.m. Sunday she wanted to know how many times someone had to drive past her house before stalking charges could be filed against a woman she knows.

– Police told people at 5 Albright Ave. to put out a fire that was creating noxious odors at 4:54 p.m. Sunday.

– Police checked on a report of a natural gas smell coming from the East Duquesne area at 7:21 p.m. Sunday. They were unable to find any odors there.

– Police were called to a verbal dispute at a state Route 14 home at 8:21 p.m. Sunday.

– Ken Morrow, South Vine Street, reported at 10:34 a.m. Saturday his house was egged overnight.

– A woman reported at 3:50 p.m. Saturday two boys were throwing snowballs at cars as they passed into the traffic circle.

– A Sunoco employee reported at 11:32 p.m. Saturday a white Dodge vehicle had been sitting in the parking lot for a while and no one was around. Police found the driver had stopped to rest and was later at the pump getting gas.

East Palestine

– Police checked the area of state Route 170 to Dickson Road at 12:41 a.m. Feb. 21 for a white Dodge vehicle involved in a hit-skip earlier that week. The vehicle was not found.

– A man reported at 10:34 a.m. Feb. 21 two large dogs were running at large in the area of West Martin near the Church of Christ. Police warned the dog’s owner about dogs running at large.

– A woman reported at 2:16 p.m. Feb. 21 that while walking on North Market Street she saw two kids trying to get into a shed near 268 N. Market St. Police checked the area but did not see the kids.

– James Sonker, North Liberty Street, reported at 3:21 p.m. Feb. 21 Jim Ross, North Liberty Street, was driving an old Dodge gas truck and currently has a suspended license. Police checked the area but did not find Ross.

– Nicol Hilton, North Liberty Street, reported at 5:10 p.m. Feb. 21 a vehicle parked near her home has a loud exhaust and woke her up when it started up. Police checked the area for the truck but did not find it. At 3:29 p.m. Feb. 22 she requested police surveillance of her home as there were people walking up and down the street and she could hear a horn blowing. Police checked but did not find anyone suspicious.

– Jennifer L. Prine-Yonker, 41, Alice Street, was warned for speeding following a traffic stop on West Martin Street at 5:20 p.m. Feb. 21.

– Police checked for a black Labrador dog reported lost in the area of West Martin Street at 7:59 p.m. Feb. 21 but could not find the animal.

– Police checked for a small white dog with brown on its face that was reported lost in the area of the Brookdale Bridge at 10 p.m. Feb. 21 but could not find the animal.

– Joshua P. Macklin, Unity Road, was warned for stop sign following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 10:17 p.m. Feb. 21.

– A group of roofing workers were told to move after police received a complaint that they were parked on North Market Street and there was no one directing traffic there.

– Harold Knotts, West Clark Street, reported at 10 a.m. Feb. 22 two pit bulls run loose on West Clark Street when he walks his dogs in the morning and they get behind him. Police told Knotts to call the department when the dogs are loose and they would respond at that time.

– Harold Enterline, West Martin Street, reported at 3:25 p.m. Feb. 22 there is a grey Chevy truck parked on the sidewalk in front of his home. Police spoke with the truck owner, who agreed to move it from the sidewalk.

– Lloyd McKinnery, West Main Street, reported at 3:38 a.m. Feb. 23 someone knocked on his door and then he heard someone go up the steps and a door shut.

– Robert Gottschalk, Padgett Road, was warned for speed following a traffic stop on North Pleasant Street at 5:29 a.m. Feb. 23.

– Endia Wisser, West North Avenue, reported at 1:23 p.m. Feb. 23 a green Mercedes SUV with three black men inside bumped into her parked car on front of the Coffee Stop and believed one person inside the vehicle was on drugs and two in the front were drinking beer. She reported the vehicle continued northbound across the railroad tracks.

– Police were called to the elementary school at 2:27 p.m. Feb. 23 for a report of an unruly student.

– Kalie Jackson, West Clark Street, reported at 5:21 p.m. Feb. 23 her son was being unruly.

– Fred Struble, Chain School Road, was warned for failure to display valid sticker following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 6 p.m. Feb. 23.

– Police transported Michael Mick, Frischkorn Drive, to a home on North Walnut Street at 11:12 p.m. Feb. 23 after finding him staggering along East Taggart Street near James Street.

St. Clair Township

– Bobbie S. Triner, 28, Eutaw Avenue, was charged with possession of criminal tools and theft after reportedly being seen selecting 22 items from the shelves at Walmart and taking them from the store without paying. The items were valued at $144.

Wellsville

– Amy Lease, Hammond Park Drive, backed into a vehicle owned by Jerry J. Blacshak, Hammond Park Drive, while backing up to the dumpster at the apartment building Sunday afternoon.

– Dean Westerman, 49, Main Street, reported around 1:39 p.m. Sunday he was being attacked and asked for assistance. Police noted he was screaming for help and eventually gave his address after being asked several times. Officers arrived and observed broken glass in the breezeway and also smelled marijuana coming from the apartment. Westerman had blood coming from the left side of his mouth and said his estranged wife, Roxanne Westerman, 41, Smithfield Street, East Liverpool, attacked him and then “fish-hooked” his mouth with her fingers while she was trying to take the phone away from him. Westerman said she became so belligerent with him over something he said that their oldest daughter had to take the two younger daughters out of the apartment. Mrs. Westerman was sitting on the couch yelling and screaming at Mr. Westerman, to which officers advised her on several occasions to be quiet. She stated that Mr. Westerman had marijuana hidden somewhere in the house and also denied assaulting him. After determining that Mrs. Westerman was the aggressor, she was taken into custody and cited for domestic violence. Officers also noted a smell associated with alcohol coming from Mrs. Westerman.

Salem

– Police received a report at 3:04 p.m. Monday about a female possibly being abused on East Fourth Street. Contact was made with the female and she said there was no problem. She had no signs of abuse.

– A complaint of cruelty to animals was reported at 10:36 a.m. Monday by a woman who said she’s a caregiver for a person who informed her a neighbor was beating his dog in the 500 block of East Perry Street. Legally she was unable to provide the name of the person who witnessed the cruelty, which occurred two hours before the time of the complaint. She was told to contact police immediately if it occurs again. Officers responded to the residence in question and it appeared both dogs were fine. A short time later, the dogs’ owner called police and denied the dogs were ever being harmed.

– A woman in the 400 block of Aetna Street reported at 1:30 a.m. Monday that her daughter was assaulted by another juvenile. The two got into an argument and the other juvenile punched the girl in the chest, knocking her down on the road and causing injury. The other juvenile fled the scene. The girl was transported to a hospital for treatment.

– William Batton, 30, of 1013 Jones Drive, was charged with OVI and marked lanes after a traffic stop in the area of New Garden Avenue and Railroad Street at 9:27 p.m. Sunday.

– Brock Menough, 30, of 781 W. Pershing St., was charged with dog at large after police were called for a loose dog in the 700 block of West Pershing Street at 5:18 p.m. Sunday. Police caught the animal with the assistance of several neighbors and secured it, transporting the animal to the humane officer’s kennel. The owner had already been warned for dog at large and the county dog warden was advised of the animal not being licensed. The owner was given the citation.

– An officer on patrol at 4:23 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of East State Street noticed a fence blown over on the south side of the road. The officer checked a vehicle parked near the fence and found no damage. The Salem street crew was contacted to fix the fence.

– An officer responded to SRMC at 12:33 p.m. Sunday. A man said his 5-year-old daughter had gone to a neighbor’s house and was bitten by their dog. Photos were taken and information gathered to be forwarded to the city health department. The incident occurred in the 900 block of West Wilson.

Perry Township

– A caller in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 8:34 p.m. Sunday requested a welfare check of his preschool child residing with the mother after learning of a possible injury from the mother, who also resides at Salem Acres. The child was checked and everything was fine.

– Regis Donnelly, of the 100 block of Plymouth Place, called police at 6:58 p.m. Sunday wanting to talk to an officer about speeders and asking about the posted speed limit, which he was told is 25 mph. He requested extra patrols because of speeders and people driving recklessly.

– A resident on Benton Road called at 5:14 p.m. Sunday to report hearing explosions coming from west of the old Rutger Nease Chemical property in the 1200 block of Benton Road. Officers located a person target shooting using explosive targets. The person was told about the complaint and ceased.

– A resident in the 1500 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 3:26 p.m. Sunday that he received harassing text messages from a friend of his daughter and wanted the person removed from the residence. The person had already left when police arrived. An officer viewed the text message and concluded there was no criminal offense committed.

– Police were called to a veterinary clinic in the 600 block of Benton Road at 8:58 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot at the local business. Police found that the owner of the vehicle had called in the night before to report having problems. An officer told the business if the vehicle was causing a problem for customers, they could remove it at their own expense.

Washingtonville

– Police made a traffic stop at 12:27 p.m. Feb. 21 on South Union Street near South County Road and cited the driver for driving under suspension.

– At 1:23 a.m. Feb. 22, police made an arrest for OVI on West Main Street near Davidson Avenue.

Lisbon

– The fire department responded to a fire alarm going off at the Fleming House at 12:38 a.m. Monday. The alarm was set off by a female resident smoking a cigarette.

– The fire department was called to the home of Lilly Grace, state Route 517, after she called for help lifting her husband who had fallen but was otherwise. The call was at 5:16 a.m. Monday.

Salem

– Police and firefighters responded at 2:17 p.m. Saturday to a home at 480 W. Pershing St. and found fire coming from a window in the front of the home. The fire is believed to have been started by a candle in the laundry room, and was contained to the immediate area. Ohio Edison was advised of the situation. The multi-dwelling home, owned by Dave Maenz, Jennings Avenue, Salem, sustained $25,000 in property loss and $15,000 in content loss. There were no injuries reported.
