Highway Patrol

– Michael Patrick McCue, 30, Beaver Falls, Pa., was southbound on state Route 9 in Hanover Township at 10:30 a.m. May 22 and went off the right side into a paper box and then continued on. He was later cited for failure to control, leaving the scene and OVI.

– Amy Jo Beery, 37, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was northbound on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 4:50 p.m. Monday and made a right-hand turn and then went left of center onto state Route 558 into the path of a vehicle driven by Claude S. Kidder, 33, Fairview Court, Salem. Beery was cited for lanes of travel.

– Scott A. Bowyer, 41, Old Fredericktown Road, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 5:15 a.m. Friday and hit a deer.

– Curtis L. Randolph, 31, Nickel Road, Salineville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 6:30 a.m. Friday and hit a deer.

– James L. Sanor, 71, Georgetown Road, Salem, was northbound on state Route 9 in Hanover Township at 3:30 p.m. May 21 and went off the right side into a sign, a utility pole and another sign. He was cited for failure to control.

– Shawn M. Williams, 56, Beloit, was northbound on Westville Lake Road in Knox Township at 5:45 pm. May 21 and hit a deer.

– Richard J. Sckena, 57, Brownsville, Pa., was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 7:50 a.m. May 22 and was struck from behind by Emily A. Robinson, 23, Carroll Road, East Rochester. Robinson was cited for assured clear distance.

– David P. Blicka, 67, Niles, was stopped on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township at 12:30 p.m. May 22 and was struck by Brian S. Stropoli, 45, Hartville. Stropoli was cited for improper backing.

– Donald J. Swiger, 40, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, was northbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 3:55 p.m. May 22 and went off the right side into a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Dana M. Merriman, 56, Glenn Road, Lisbon, and Amanda L. Long, 30, Independence Square, Wellsville, and Caleb John Radcliffe, 18, Gaston Place, East Liverpool, were northbound on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 3:47 p.m. May 22 and Radcliffe struck Long from behind and Long then struck Merriman. Radcliffe was cited for assured clear distance and Long was cited for driving under financial responsibility.

– Madeline K. Aberegg, 18, Sebring, was southbound on Knox School Road in West Township at 4:55 p.m. May 22 and hit a rock in the road.

– Steven Paul Bryan, 35, West Fourth Street, Salem, was westbound on state Route 344 in Salem Township at 5:49 p.m. May 22 and Levi David Holloway, 21, Crestview Road, Leetonia, was eastbound and the rear left tire of his vehicle came loose and struck Bryan’s vehicle. No citations were issued.

– Patricia A. Hanna, 59, state Route 558, Leetonia, was northbound on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 2 p.m. May 23 and stopped at a stop sign at state Route 344 and was struck by Bryce Anthony Turney, 19, Columbia Street, Leetonia, who was westbound on state Route 344 and attempting to turn onto Lisbon Road. Turney was cited for improper turning.

– Daniel W. Witherstine, 35, U.S. 62, Salem, was northbound on Case Road in Knox Township at 3 a.m. May 24 and failed to negotiate a curve to the left and went off the road and overturned. He was cited for failure to control.

– Carl L. Campbell, 65, Roller Coaster Road, Lisbon, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Elkrun Township at 9:40 a.m. May 24 and hit a deer.

– Michael A. Smith, 38, Chester, W.Va., and Marty A. Brown, 44, Zanesville, were northeastbound on state Route 170 in St. Clair Township at 11:27 a.m. Tuesday and Brown backed into Smith. Brown was cited for improper backing.

– Robert J. Halfhill, 33, New Waterford Road, New Waterford, was eastbound on U.S. 62 in Goshen Township in Mahoning County at 8 p.m. Tuesday and went off the left side into a utility pole and a brush embankment and overturned. Halfhill was ejected from the vehicle and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

– Thomas Mann Gill, 71, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, was southbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday and Timothy Allen Kinser Jr., 33, Youngstown, was stopped at the stop sign at the Bell School Road intersection and was struck by Gill when he attempted to turn onto state Route 7. Kinser was cited for right of way.

County Sheriff

– Leita Johnson, Bye Road, New Waterford, reported at 2 p.m. Friday she allowed her ex-daughter-in-law to live in a trailer she owns at 5329 Bye Road and she asked her to move out on May 23 and 24 and she has since found damage to the trailer, which consisted of three locks removed, water heater wires cut, boards removed from the floor, interior door knobs cut off the door, the shower head removed and the heating element in the stove cut. A deputy told Johnson to take the matter to small claims court.

– Amy Pilcher, Beeson Mill Road, Leetonia, reported at 10:55 a.m. Friday she received a threatening voicemail from a woman on April 21.

– Robert German, state Route 30, Kensington, reported at 10 p.m. Thursday his brother was drunk and came to his home and threatened to throw him out a window before leaving the property.

– A deputy was called to the Twin Oaks Trailer Park in Center Township at 11 p.m. Thursday for an assault report. Lisbon police also assisted the deputy and the officers did not find anyone who had been assaulted there. Witnesses told police two women in a vehicle pulled into the trailer park lot and got out and began arguing, then got back into the vehicle and headed south. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– Melissa Steade, Rochester Road, East Rochester, reported at 3:45 p.m. Friday she and her husband went to hook up the propane at the area where they camp at Paradise Lake and they noticed two full 30-pound LP propane tanks missing, and the regulator and cover to the tanks were broken and a set of channel locks were also missing.

– John Cutlip, Margaret Drive, Beaver Falls, Pa., reported at 3:47 p.m. Friday he parked his 2003 Mitsubishi Spyder Eclipse convertible in the west lot of the Rogers Community Auction in Middleton Township and when he returned he found someone had scratched the passenger side door quarter panel by possibly hitting it with their car.

– John Kephart reported Thursday finding a dozen bullet holes in the metal siding of his business – J & H Manufacturing – on Columbiana-Lisbon Road, Fairfield Township. The holes appear to be from either a .22 caliber handgun or powerful pellet gun.

Lisbon

– Police were called to the Home Savings parking lot on West Lincoln Way at 9:16 a.m. Friday for a report of a vehicle accident. Jenna Jackson, age and address not listed, said she pulled into the entrance/exit off Beaver Street and struck a vehicle driven by David Ketchum, age and address not listed, who was approaching from the opposite direction. Jackson said she did not see Ketchum’s vehicle as it was approaching. The crash caused minor damage to both and no injuries were reported. No citations were issued due to being on private property.

– Police and a sheriff’s deputy were called to the Twin Oaks Trailer Park on state Route 45 at 11 p.m. Thursday for a report of a domestic inside a vehicle. The vehicle could not be found.

– Police were called to the bike trail along West Lincoln Way near St. Jacob-Logtown Road at 10:52 p.m. Thursday for a report that a woman was hit by a car at the Canton Bridge. KLG Ambulance also responded but the vehicle and the people involved were already gone.

– Teresa Shasteen reported finding a syringe on the roadway while she was walking on Sherman Street at 8:08 a.m. Thursday.

East Liverpool

– While patrolling on Bradshaw Avenue, an officer heard people yelling on the steps leading to College Street and reported seeing a man, later identified as Richard P. McKee, 42, Grimm’s Bridge Road, walking with a can of beer, which he reportedly tried to hide in his pants. He also reported seeing an open can of beer between the legs of Vernon D. Mitchell, 43, Moore Street. Both were cited for open container in public.

– Officers received a call of someone “shooting up” in a vehicle in the Giant Eagle parking lot. The vehicle was located by officers in the Dollar General lot where the driver was identified as Jamie P. Tice, 41, state Route 170, Negley. His passenger was Duallen J. Stanford, 22, same address. Canine officer Ivo was brought to the scene and alerted on the vehicle, where officers reported finding a box containing four syringes, a spoon, rubber ties and push rods underneath the passenger seat. A set of golf clubs which had been reported stolen through the county sheriff’s office was also found in the vehicle, according to reports. Stanford was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments. Tice was not charged.

– Responding to a report of a large fight on College Street, officers found Troy E. Quinn, 18, College Street, bleeding from the face. They reported he kept walking away as they tried to speak to him and he was charged with prohibitions and obstructing official business.

Liverpool Township

– An officer reported seeing a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Kountz Avenue and state Route 7. The driver, Justin D. Gunther, 34, Boyd Road, Wellsville, was unable to provide a license or insurance information and had red, glassy eyes, according to reports. St. Clair Township K-9 officer Chris Davis and his partner Axel responded and the canine alerted on the vehicle, where a used syringe was reportedly found in the pocket of some jogging pants in the back seat. Gunther reportedly admitted having injected heroin 45 minutes prior to the traffic stop. He was cited for possession of drug abuse instruments, OVI and a stop sign violation. His passenger was not charged.

Ohio Department of Natural Resources

– While on routine patrol of Fishermen’s Trail in Beaver Creek State Park, a park officer reported encountering five people fishing. While checking for valid fishing licenses, the officer saw beer cans on the shore and a fire and said Jason O. Jones, 22, Wilbert Avenue, had something in his hand. It turned out to be marijuana, according to the officer’s report. Jones was charged with possession of marijuana, less than 100 grams.

St. Clair Township

– Timothy Andrews, 22, West Fourth Street, was charged with theft Wednesday after reportedly taking two statues from the outdoor lawn and garden display at Walmart and placing them into his wife’s car, after which he went into the store and continued shopping with his wife and family. They left the store without paying for the statues, which were reportedly recovered at his home, where he was arrested.

Columbiana

– Leetonia police reported at 12:27 a.m. Friday a woman they picked up on a warrant had been assaulted in the city earlier that day. The woman was identified as Danielle Walter, age and address not listed.

– Norfolk and Southern Railroad police reported at 3 p.m. Friday a train had just traveled through the Pittsburgh Street crossing and there was a boy about 12 years old playing “chicken” with the train. Police looked for the boy but could not find him.

– Police found a disabled vehicle on state Route 14 near state Route 7 at 5:14 p.m. Friday and located the driver who said it ran out of gas, and he was able to get some to get it running again.

– The highway patrol reported at 5:29 p.m. Friday someone in a tan van was driving recklessly into the city from state Route 11. Police checked the are but did not find the vehicle.

– Rikki Brown reported at 7 p.m. Friday a woman who was not allowed on the property was in his driveway. Police stood by until the woman retrieved her items from the home and left the property with no problems.

– Rebeca Coppersmith reported at 10 p.m. Friday she lost her keys at the Save-A-Lot store and requested police immobilize her vehicle until she was able to get another set. Police were able to put a club on the vehicle until the keys could be found.

– Someone reported at 11:13 p.m. Friday a group of about six kids were yelling profanities in the traffic circle. Police checked but did not find the group.

– A man requested at 11:37 p.m. Friday police go to the electric substation on the north side of town for some sort of problem. Police found a raccoon stuck in the power lines and were able to get it out.

– Merwyn P. Garwood, 68, South Bayshore Drive, was attempting to turn south onto state route 7 at 11:58 a.m. Thursday when she was struck from behind by Carrie A. Huff, 37, Park Avenue, East Palestine. No citations were issued.

– A woman reported at 12:55 p.m. Thursday there was an irate man on a bus stopped at 110 Court St. who was refusing to leave the bus. Police found the problem was related to a landlord and tenant dispute and the man was given a verbal warning for disorderly conduct. At 2 p.m. the bus driver requested police stand by while they dropped off the same man. The man got off the bus with no problems.

– Haley Christine Tohm, 17, North Cross Street, and Kaitlyn Kerr, 16, Back Bay Drive, were backing out of parking spaces at the high school at 2:51 p.m. Thursday and struck vehicles. No citations were issued.

– A Firestone Avenue man reported at 9:28 p.m. Thursday a St. Bernard dog was barking in the neighborhood for several hours. Police found the dog and the owners took her inside.

– A Fairfield School Road woman reported hearing gunshots toward her driveway at 10:19 p.m. Thursday.

East Palestine

– Chris Yeager, Bacon Avenue, reported at 11 a.m. Friday someone broke into his home and took items.

– Lawrence Bart, East Main Street, reported at 4:54 p.m. Thursday he was having problems with stray cats on his property.

Salem

– Police responded to the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 2:36 a.m. Friday where the complainant advised a man in a white Chrysler Sebring has been harassing and threatening an employee repeatedly but was gone when police arrived. His last location was broadcast and Perry Township police made a traffic stop on the bypass and followed up and the suspect was advised of the complaint. An outstanding warrant was located on the person and Charles R. Bowers, 15667 Pineview Dr., East Liverpool, was taken into custody for failure to appear for child support and taken to the county jail.

– At 5:41 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of Stewart Road to assist Perry Township police regarding an assault report where shots were fired.

– At 8:23 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of a fight in Centennial Park. Several people were reportedly involved and one person said they were juveniles. One juvenile approached another and started a fight. One was taken to the hospital and police were unable to locate the other person but followed up with the guardian of the injured juvenile to make them aware of the incident.

– William K. Harrigan, 80, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and fictitious plates following a two-vehicle crash on South Lincoln Avenue at 7:42 a.m. Thursday in which he was southbound and failed to stop for traffic at Columbia Street, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Alexandria Faith J. McDole, 18, Wellsville. McDole was treated on scene for possible injuries.

– Police responded to a home in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:29 a.m. Saturday where the resident reported a white man with curly black hair wearing blue jeans and a gray T-shirt was knocking on her door and yelling “Jesus is coming.” Officers were unable to find the man. Police responded to similar reports in the 300 block of West 10th Street at 4:45 a.m. but were again unable to find the man.

Leetonia

– Police responded to the 200 block of Main Street at 7:39 p.m. May 22 for a possible assault and Christopher Hyler, 207 1/2 E. Main St., was charged with assault and unlawful restraint.

– Police received a report at 7:24 a.m. May 24 regarding the theft of a Big Foot lawn statue. An investigation is pending.

Police

County Sheriff

– Emily Cochran, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, reported at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday her ex-boyfriend has her phone and car charger and refuses to return it. Cochran said she has asked him several times and gone to his home, but he will not answer the door.

– Victoria Flanagan, state Route 644, Kensington, reported at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday Garrett Gump and his mother parked in the driveway, were texting her and calling asking to have visitation with Gump’s 3-year-old son. Deputies explained to Gump that Flanagan was not going to allow him visitation and she did not want him on the property. Gump claimed he came there to give Flanagan money so she could travel to New Philadelphia to visit with family and he believed the visit had been prearranged. He left without any problems.

– Robert Troyer, an employee at West Township’s Ruritan Park, reported at 11:41 a.m. Wednesday he has seen a tan car sitting in the parking area for the past week. It had not moved. The passenger window was down and the keys were in the ignition. Deputies attempted to contact the registered owner, Kristy L. Carr of Louisville, but were unsuccessful. The Ruritans were told they can have the car towed because it is on their property.

– Randy Hissom, Cream Ridge Road, East Liverpool, reported at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday her nephew is being harassed everytime he drives by a Glenn Road address. Deputies went to the address, where the couple said they do yell at the teens driving down the road, telling them to slow down.

Lisbon

– A caller reported a bunch of youths were climbing onto the roof of the county juvenile court building to retrieve a shoe at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday. The youths were gone by the time an officer arrived.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Lincoln Way reportedly at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday that a juvenile keeps driving fast through the alley. Police spoke with the juvenile and warned him.

– Mary Shulas, Maple Street, reported Kevin Criss was her house at 11 a.m. Tuesday and he is not allowed to be there because of a condition of his bond. Criss left before police arrived.

Columbiana

– James Rupert reported a semi-trailer struck and dragged a rock onto the roadway on James Street at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday. The street department returned the rock to its rightful place.

– Rob Joy reported Wednesday finding a bag containing bills in the dumpster behind the Grace Church.

– A caller asked police on Wednesday to check on his parents, who live on Beechwood Lane, because he had not heard from them since Saturday. The parents were found to be fine and asked to call their son.

– Nicholas Mohr, 32, of Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on South Main Street at 6:44 p.m. Wednesday.

– Andrew L. Kell, 19, Saybrook Boulevard, was stopped in traffic on East Park Avenue when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle being driven by Kenneth E. Pasco, 47, Creek Road, New Waterford, at 8:34 p.m. Wednesday.

– Devon M. Galvin, 18, Columbia Street, Leetonia, was cited for reckless operation after crashing while driving on state Route 7 near state Route 14 at 2:02 a.m. Wednesday. He was not injured.

Salem

– A Cedar Ridge resident reported Thursday someone someone got into the unlocked car overnight and took several items.

– Christopher L. Hyler, 270 Main St., Leetonia, was taken into custody on a Leetonia warrant while walking on New Garden Thursday morning.

– Police went to Cleveland Street at 11:31 a.m. Thursday checking on a woman who missed two court appearances. They were told she had left earlier and was upset after speaking with her husband, who is in jail.

– At 1:18 p.m. Thursday, police responded a South Ellsworth company which was having trouble getting equipment back from an employee who quit.

– An East Pershing Street man reported Thursday his daughter’s tablet was missing after a Memorial Day party. He suspects his sister-in-law.

– A South Lundy Avenue man reported at 12:33 a.m. Thursday he let an unknown man into the house to use the restroom and after he left noticed that $40 was missing.

– At 1:29 a.m. Thursday, police served a warrant on Matthew J. Campanelli, 1048 E. 9th St., for failure to appear for child support. He was taken to jail.

– At 10:07 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street where the complainant advised of a person driving by with his pants and underpants down and masturbating. Police will attempt to obtain security video from a business to identify the person.

– An East 10th Street man on Wednesday reported an IRS scam.

– Police responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday regarding an assault and both parties were intoxicated and gave different versions.

New Waterford

– A man on May 18 discovered unauthorized purchases on his bank account and provided a printout of the fraudulent charges.

– At 4:26 p.m. May 23 an officer was flagged down by a person who had cut himself on the left pinky while sharpening a knife. The officer administered first aid by cleaning and observed the cut had gone to the meaty portion of his finger. He was advised to go to the hospital and probably get a few stitches.

– Police responded to the 3900 block of West Main Street, where a woman said her daughter was yelling loudly at someone outside the house and that she had become a nuisance to her entire family lately. The two were in a verbal dispute when police arrived, however, the situation defused.

– At 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, police and medical personnel responded to Church Street where a woman was experiencing a lot of pain. She was taken to a Boardman hospital.

Perry Township

– Police were requested by an ambulance crew at 9:41 p.m. Wednesday for a combative woman in the 1800 block of South Lincoln and found everything was OK. The woman was taken to the hospital.

– Kevin L. Ring, 938 Prospect St., was taken into custody on a county warrant Wednesday night on South Lincoln.

– A Main Street resident reported Wednesday a gas-powered generator was taken from the detached garage in the past two days.

– Robert L. Goterba, 1311 Robin Ave., Salem was cited for a right-of-way violation at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday. Daniel L. Ludwig, 2473 Depot Road was stopped on Stewart Road when he was struck by Goterba’s vehicle that was northbound on Depot Road and turning onto Stewart.

– Police responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday for a 911 hangup call in which a woman was claiming to be held against her will. The woman was outside the residence ad said she was assaulted by her boyfriend. The man said he was assaulted by her. Both declined to file charges. She left and he went back inside.

Goshen Police District

– Alexander M. Jerry, 53, Campbell, was cited for driving under suspension and two headlights required after a traffic stop on state Route 165 near Lisbon Road at 5:08 a.m. Thursday.

– An officer responded to Robert’s Country Store on Stratton Road at 12:20 p.m. Thursday where the manager reported an unwanted man was loitering and making employees feel nervous and that he was also standing in the ditch peering through trees at the neighboring houses. An officer found the man and warned him not to return to the store.

East Liverpool

– Virginia L. Boyer, Lincoln Avenue, reported her son was driving her vehicle when he was arrested, resulting in the vehicle being towed. She retrieved the vehicle and had it parked in front of her home when it was taken. Boyer’s daughter spotted the car on Avondale Street, where a woman told her she had borrowed it from a man in Wellsville. Although Boyer reported the vehicle missing, she called to report it returned.

– Officers were called Wednesday for words written on a toilet roll in the boy’s restroom at Westgate and reported they were obviously the misspelled words of a child. The principal decided to call a fire drill nonetheless, according to reports.

St. Clair Township

– Rachael F. Sullivan, 38, Pittsburgh, was charged with petty theft after reportedly entering the Calcutta Giant Eagle, concealing items valued at $592 and walking out without paying for them.

Police

County Sheriff

– Deputies were called to a state Route 164 home at 11:04 a.m. Tuesday due a woman reportedly being suicidal. The woman told deputies she believes her children are trying to send her to a mental institution, but she feels she is in good health and does not need to go anywhere. She denied wanting to harm herself and her fiance was present while deputies and KLG were there.

Lisbon

– Terry Mullins, West Washington Street, reported Friday that Mark Shaw called him names when he came to pick up items at his home, and he wanted to file menacing charges. Mullins was told this was not a threat, but police spoke with Shaw and told him to stay away from Mullins.

– A caller reported two males were removing an air conditioner from a residence on Sherman Street at 3:23 p.m. Friday. Police knew the renter, who was contacted and told police the two men had permission to be there.

– A caller reported there were people fighting on West Lincoln Way at 3:34 p.m. May 20. Police checked the area but did not find anyone fighting.

– Police were called to Applegrove Apartments at 4:15 p.m. May 15 to stand by while a resident was transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.

– A caller reported there was a car parked at the pool at 10:28 p.m. Sunday and there was a door open at the pump house. Police arrived and began running a check on the vehicle’s license plate when two adults and three juveniles exited the Play Town playground. They were told the playground closes at 9 p.m. and to come back the next day As for the pump house, an extension cord was found to be going from the pump house to the pool cleaner. The rest of the pool area appeared to be secure.

-Carlqa Blocksom, Pritchard Avenue, reported hearing a noise in her shed at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. Police checked the shed, which was found to have a lock.

-A highway patrol trooper reported there was a possibly impaired driver heading into town on state Route 517 at 10:22 p.m. Sunday. Police located the vehicle but no violations were observed.

– Jerry Aukerman, West Washington Street, called about an aggressive dog at 4:17 p.m. Sunday. The responding police officer said he was greeted by a white dog that did not act aggressively but the owner was told the canine needs to be on a leash.

-Police were called to North Market Street at 6:25 p.m. Sunday in regard to a child who fell off his bicycle and was now having a seizure. The boy’s grandfather was present while the child was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

– A caller reported objects were obstructing the sidewalk behind the Motorcycle Dream Shop on West Washington Street on Friday afternoon. Police spoke with owner Michael Skidmore, who agreed to move the ATV blocking the sidewalk.

– Miranda Corbin, 36, of Wellsville, was cited for speeding in town on Tuesday.

Columbiana

– A caller reported at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday he discovered an object had been thrown through the window of Kitchen Solutions.

– A caller from 214 S. Bayshore Drive reported hearing what sounded like gunshots at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday. It turned out to be a resident making noises to scare geese away from the lake.

– An employee at Century Plant reported Tuesday finding items such as clothing disposed in their dumpster.

– An employee of Cash Lane reported a disoriented man walked in the lobby at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Police arrived and transported Richard Gorcheff to his home.

– Nicholas Costea reported a motorist was speeding and driving erratically on East Park Avenue at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

East Palestine

– An employee of T & M Hardware reported Tuesday afternoon after discovering that a $400 Husqvarna chainsaw was missing from the store.

Salem

– Police responded to the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 12:01 a.m Tuesday for an alarm and police found damage to two separate building doors. No one was located inside the building and police were unable to determine if anything was missing. Photos were taken of the doors and the keyholder responded.

– Police responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:53 p.m. Friday for a reckless operation complaint of a driver running a stop sign. There were several complaints and people wanted extra patrols.

– At 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 200 block of West Wilson Avenue for a report of people throwing items at a moving vehicle who were identified and admitted to doing it. While investigating the complaint, Jonathan L. Thorne, 215 Chris Ave., Apt. H2, Washingtonville was identified as having an outstanding warrant for OVI and falsification. He was also charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and was turned over to sheriff deputies. The other person, Adam L. Backius, 331 Newgarden Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct.

– Police responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday for a verbal dispute between a man and a woman. They were advised of domestic violence laws.

– At 8:39 p.m. Tuesday, police met a complainant from West 4th Street on station regarding several thefts in the 2800 block of East State Street. An investigation is pending.

– At 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 100 block of Sharp Avenue where the complainant reported fraudulent charges to their bank account. The complainant was in touch with the bank and a report number was issued.

– A large amount of smoke was spotted at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of South Ellsworth Avenue and it appeared to be outside the city limits. Perry Township firefighters responded and found they were burning pine needles which is prohibited by state law.

– Police responded to the 600 block of Olive Street at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday for a report of illegal dumping. A mattress and springs and other bedding were dumped by an unknown person and the complainant asked for extra patrol.

– Police responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday where an employee reported something obscene written on the wooden sauna wall in the girls locker room. The incident is under investigation.

– At 1:54 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 400 block of West Pershing Street where the complainant wanted her live-in boyfriend removed and claimed he struck her. Police got both to calm down.

– Police responded to the 200 block of 200 North Cunningham Road at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday for a theft and harassment complaint. The complainant said he was being accused of stealing a Stihl concrete saw over the weekend. Police spoke to the management at the location who advised he wasn’t but the saw was missing on Saturday morning.

– At 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of East State Street and spoke to a man who was advised he was not wanted in the business anymore. He was advised of the complaint and he left with the understanding he was not to return to the store.

East Liverpool

– Jessica Taylor, Sophia Street, reported that credit cards belonging to her and her boyfriend, Mark Deemer, were removed from her purse and an attempt was made to use one of the cards at the Dollar General store but was denied.

– Jonathan D. Rockhold, 40, Avondale Street, was charged with theft Saturday after reportedly taking razors without paying from them from Giant Eagle. He reportedly knocked a manager to the ground when approached in the parking lot, then offered to pay for the razors.

St. Clair Township

– An officer on patrol in the Dunham’s parking lot Sunday reported seeing a man hanging onto a moving vehicle and activated his lights. The man, later identified as Thomas E. Powell, 19, no address listed, reportedly opened the car door when he saw the cruiser, took something from his pocket and placed it inside the vehicle. When asked what he was doing, Powell told the officer his mother was picking him up and he was just checking the babies inside the vehicle. The vehicle owner gave permission to search and the officer reported finding a marijuana smoking device in a diaper box. Powell was charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

– Walmart officials reported a man tried to return sheets which had been taken without being paid for and after he was denied, a woman came into the store and tried the same thing. Video of the attempted transactions was obtained.

Highway Patrol

– Lamar Coles, 23, of East Liverpool, was arrested Tuesday by the highway patrol in Jefferson County on a bench warrant for receiving stolen property.

– Deb Stoffer, Uniontown, a landlord of a Hoopes Road, Salem, home, reported at 11:25 p.m. Saturday her past tenant, Gregory S. Dennison, whom she evicted, was to be out by May 15. She found the place empty, in disarray and a riding lawn mower was gone.

– Danielle Smith, Jimtown Road, East Palestine, reported at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday someone was riding ATVs and knocking on doors. Deputies found no one when they arrived.

– Ian Archer, no address listed, reported at 6:43 p.m. Friday someone was in the area of Quaker Church Road doing burnouts with vehicles. Deputies checked the area, but did not find the vehicles.

– A deputy stopped a rail buggy for a headlight violation at 12:07 a.m. Saturday near state Route 172 and Hanna Drive intersection. The driver, Virgil Garreston, 25, Lisbon, was cited with OVI.

– Sam Sowards, Applegate Road, Lisbon, reported trespassers on his property at 10:08 p.m. Monday. A friend had checked Sowards’ property and found a man he identified as Aaron Tucker sitting in a vehicle up by the field. The man fled from the property, driving across a freshly planted field.

– A resident on Pioneer Road reported suspicious activity at 4:27 p.m. Friday. Deputies did not find anything out of the ordinary, but found Brian Bable who had a warrant. Bable was taken into custody.

– Marilyn Winters, Riffle Road, Rogers, reported at 2:09 p.m. Thursday she wanted to leave, but her husband, James, was preventing her from going. He reportedly was intoxicated and first would not let her go outside, then he took her car keys. He also reportedly started letting air out of the car tires and threatened to burn her clothes. Deputies explained to James he cannot keep her there if she wants to leave. He gave her back her keys and went to the burn pile to retrieve a bag of her clothes for her. She signed a refusal to prosecute.

– Elaine Ferguson, Miller Road, Leetonia, reported at 3:44 a.m. Monday, there was a woman lost in the night at her house. Deputies spoke to Dorena Haney, who said she moved to a property on state Route 164 and was going from her previous house across the street when she lost her way. She was out from about 9:30 p.m. to nearly 4 a.m. and came to the house on Miller Road looking for help. Haney believed she had only been out walking for an hour.

– A 15-year-old Sell Road, Lisbon, boy reported a possible domestic dispute at 2:12 a.m. Monday. Deputies spoke with Betty Mackall, who said her husband, Monte, came home intoxicated, began to tear up the yard, yelling and carrying on. He then reportedly got into his wife’s face, took a knife, stabbed a record player and began to yell and threaten her. Deputies talked to her about how to obtain a protection order. Monte Mackall was already in bed.

– Bonnie Parise, Brown Street, Lisbon, reported at 3:56 p.m. Friday she wanted her 19-year-old stepson removed from the home. He was attempting to pull a trailer with his father’s pickup. Parise told the stepson he is not insured to drive the truck. The stepson told deputies the pickup does not belong to Parise, only his father who is in prison and he has power-of-attorney to drive the pickup. Deputies explained marital property belong to both husband and wife and she can tell him not to drive her pickup. He gathered a duffel bag and walked away.

– Angela Nail, state Route 7, New Waterford, reported at 4:02 a.m. Saturday she got up at 2:45 a.m. and went into another room to check on her 15-year-old son. He was not there. Deputies took a missing person’s report and checked at a possible girlfriend’s home, but he was not located. Aaron Gibbs, 15, reportedly was wearing dark jeans, a turquoise T-shirt, a brown coat and was riding a Next bicycle, which is gray, black and green.

– A house fire was reported at 12:17 a.m. Saturday in the area of Oak Tree Campground at an old chicken farm near a 16 School Road address. Firefighters responding to the fire reportedly saw two people on ATVs take off. The Irondale fire chief on a six-wheeled ATV escorted the deputy to the property. While there, another ATV came up the hill, saw the chief and the deputy and took off.

– Randy Hughes, state Route 154, Negley, reported at 1:08 a.m. Friday his son, Thomas Hughes, had been drinking heavily, became irate and started hitting the walls. The son left before deputies arrived, but he and his girlfriend were stopped down the road. They made arrangements to stay with a grandmother for the night.

– Jackie Spencer, Big Arb’s Campground, Minerva, reported her husband took the golf cart at 5:24 p.m. Saturday. Both Spencer and her husband, James, claimed they were assaulted by the other. Both had visible injuries and both were charged with domestic violence.

-Trisha Hampton, Bayard Road, North Georgetown, reported suspicious activity at 12:27 a.m. Sunday in the area of Homeworth and Mountz roads. Hampton, Joshua McGuire and several others told deputies they heard ATVs riding around in the back woods near the train tracks and heard a woman screaming in what sounded like a “life threatening” manner. She reportedly was yelling she could not breathe and a man was yelling he did not know what to do. Deputies went into the woods, shined overhead lights and announced themselves, but only heard silence. Local fire departments were called and searched the area, but found no one. Alliance City Hospital later called the sheriff’s department to report some people came to the emergency room with an ATV injury, which reportedly happened in that area.

– Sabrina Clipse, Scroggs Road, Lisbon, reported at 6:12 a.m. Saturday her 15-year-old son, Dalton Clipse slipped out of the house sometime during the night and ran away with his bicycle. Deputies had a dispatcher check the boy’s phone and it reportedly was in Pennsylvania. Authorities there were notified.

Lisbon

-Rachel Gang, 20, of Salem, was cited for failing to yield the right of way at an intersection on Friday.

-Anthony Salem, 57, of Columbiana, was cited for speeding on Sunday.

-Stephanie Quinn, 18, of Lisbon, was cited for speeding on Monday.

-Carmen Hudson, 46, of Girard, was cited for running a red light on Monday.

East Palestine

– Police were called to 94 N. Market St. at 10 p.m. Monday for a report of two sisters in an argument. The women told police they were arguing about the welfare of two children. Police checked on the children and found the living conditions in the apartment to be inadequate and notified Children Services.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Industrial Self Storage at 1:27 a.m. Monday. There were no problems.

Salem

– Police responded to a Cedar Ridge Drive home at 6:32 p.m. Monday where a woman reported a motorized scooter had been stolen from a friend’s garage the prior day. Officers determined that the friend had sold the scooter without permission after the complainant received a text from another woman regarding the scooter after the complainant posted the information on social media. The complainant chose not to pursue charges and the friend was warned to refund the buyer.

– Nicole M. Linger, 20, 2334 Woodsdale Road, Salem, was arrested on a county warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge after an officer saw her driving on West Wilson at 8:45 p.m. Monday.

– Francisco Martin-Jose, 28, 610 E. Third St., Salem, was charged with domestic violence after officers responded to the home at 9:23 p.m. Monday for a report of someone with a knife and found him stabbing the wall inside and his family standing outside.

– A patrolling officer observed a pickup stopped along side of a business in the 400 block of New Garden Avenue at 10:45 p.m. Monday. Due to recent thefts from semi trucks in the area, the officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver said that he pulled over to retrieve a phone number from his cell phone. The officer observed nothing unusual.

Perry Township

– Amy Menough, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Liberty Street and Overlook Drive at 3:21 p.m. Monday in which she was southbound on Overlook Drive and pulled from the stop sign, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Autum Ketchum, Salem. Ketchum was taken to SRMC for treatment.

– Police responded to the 400 block of Stewart Road at 3:43 p.m. Monday for a report of target shooters firing rounds that were going into the back yard of residences in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road. Police spoke with a male resident who said that he was shooting a rifle, but is always careful. He was warned of the complaint.

– Police took a report of male runaway/missing juvenile allegedly in South Carolina. The juvenile was entered into LEADS as a missing person, with an investigation pending.

– Tyler J. Gardner, 22, Prospect Street, Salem, was charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest following a physical confrontation with officers after they responded to Salem Acres home for a report of an unwanted person. Gardner declined medical treatment and was taken to jail.

Goshen Police District

– Earl R. Kelvington III, 61, Tallmadge, was charged with driving two counts of OVI, possession of marijuana, improperly handling firearms while intoxicated and speed after a traffic stop on state Route 165 between Pine Lake Road and state Route 14 at 7:37 p.m. Saturday. Officers found a loaded handgun and a tin of marijuana in a bag on the back of the seat of his motorcycle.

– Ryan C. Smith, 37, 560 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem, was charged with two counts of OVI after a traffic stop for speed on U.S. Route 62 near Middletown Road at 2:56 a.m. Sunday.

East Liverpool

– While both had their northbound vehicles stopped at a red light at the intersection of Dresden Avenue and Webber Way, Johnny L. Exline, 41, St. Clair Avenue, struck the rear of the car driven by Connie S. Sterling, 49, Fresno, Ohio. Exline was cited for assured clear distance.

St. Clair Township

– April L. West, 41, Allison Street, was charged with theft after reportedly taking a jar filled with donations for the Children’s Miracle Network from a counter at Walmart. West allegedly concealed the jar in her pants, took it to the restroom, where she dumped the money into her purse, leaving the empty jar behind.

– Kristin M. Komar, 42, Toronto, reportedly selected four packages of steaks from the Calcutta Giant Eagle, concealed them in an empty purse and attempted to the leave the store without paying for them. She was stopped and subsequently charged with petty theft and possession of criminal tools. Komar also was found to have an outstanding warrant. Brian J. Benton, 32, Richmond, was charged with complicity to theft for reportedly serving as Komar’s lookout during the alleged theft.

Salineville

– Thomas Blair reported around 7 p.m. Monday a vehicle that belongs to his daughter was parked at an East Main Street residence on the agreement that Monica Grimm and her son would fix it. Instead the vehicle was cannibalized for parts without Blair’s consent or knowledge. The vehicle was towed without incident, and in lieu of criminal charges, Grimm paid Blair a small amount of money to cover the parts.

– Cody Jones, Mill Street, requested medical assistance at 9:40 p.m. May 20 after he was bit by a brown recluse spider. The bite reportedly occurred on May 15, but according to a prescription, the bite may have occurred on May 9 or May 13. Village first responders provided medical attention to the wounds, and Tri-County Ambulance cleared him after Jones declined to go to the hospital.

– Police were informed on May 19 that two white men visited the BK Beverage and purchased items through the drive-thru. The men used one and two dollar bills described as a silver certificate. No local victims have reported any special currency missing at this time.

Wellsville

– Randalyn Wilk, 34, North Market Street, Lisbon, reported at 4:23 p.m. Thursday that two 3 1/2-4-foot tall flower pots, made of brass and powder coated in white, were taken from the Wilk family graves at Spring Hill Cemetery. The pots were reportedly taken sometime between Christmas and May 20.

– City employees reported at 9 a.m. Friday they were cutting grass and weed-eating in the area of Eighth Street and Broadway when a rock flew up and broke the driver-side back window of a 2003 Pontiac Montana owned by John Lawrence. Officers contacted Lawrence and advised him the procedure to getting the window fixed.

– Samuel Hayes Jr. reported at 1:30 p.m. Monday he was assaulted by Gary Mason Jr. on the Lisbon Street overpass. Hays said that Mason stopped him on the overpass, leaned in Hayes’ car, threatened him, and threw a beverage at Hayes, which hit Hayes in the right eye and spilled onto Hayes’ two-year-old child in the backseat. Officers observed a swollen black-and-blue right eye on Hayes, and also found the beverage laying in the middle of the overpass. Mason was found at a Lisbon Road address where he was taken into custody for assault.

– Police were called to the area of Route 154 by the patrol at 5:18 p.m. Saturday for a report of a red Dodge Ram 2500 to be stopped and held until their arrival. Police made the traffic stop on Jackson Street and stood by until the trooper arrived.

– Police were called to 228 Lee St. at 1 a.m. Saturday for a report that Zachary Willis gained entry into the home by force and assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Ashlei Conkle. Willis, 21, state route 172, East Rochester, was charged with domestic violence and arrested on an active warrant.

– Police stood by at a West Washington address at 1 p.m. Thursday until EMS arrived for a medical call.

Columbiana

– Jerrod Burnette requested at 3:35 a.m. Sunday police check on his sister Rhonie, who was walking somewhere along South Main Street and was possibly drunk. Police could not find the woman.

– A woman reported at 10:24 a.m. Sunday there were three kids standing outside Heartland Christian School and one was attempting to enter a window through the South Elm Street side by the playground. Police spoke with the child who explained he was retrieving a ball from the area and was only on his way back through.

– A woman reported at 11:46 a.m. Sunday a man and woman were fighting along North Main Street and were blowing their car horns at each other. Police found the man and woman were not in an argument but were running late for an event and were blowing the horn trying to rush to get there.

– Susan Berger, address not listed, reported at noon Sunday someone damaged her son’s bicycle.

– Police checked on a report of a suspicious truck exiting the Industrial Park along state Route 14 at 1 p.m. Sunday but did not see the vehicle.

– A woman reported at 2:22 p.m. Sunday there was a car parked near Funland in the park with a bloodhound left inside. The woman reported the windows were down but the dog appeared to be panting heavily. Police checked on the dog and found that water and food had been left inside the car. Police refilled the dog’s water through the windows that were down and left a note for the owner to contact the police department.

– A man reported at 2:53 p.m. Sunday he could see smoke and smell wood burning in the area of North Cross and Cross streets. Police checked and found someone was cooking using a small fire and were not breaking any laws.

– Police assisted the fire department with a report of an oven fire on Manor Drive.

– Ashley Hall reported at 8:16 p.m. Sunday her son had welts on his arm from an unknown accident.

Salem

– Adam M. Stone, 26, Salem, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash on North Ellsworth Avenue at 3:53 p.m. Sunday. He was westbound on East Seventh in a Ford F350 work truck and pulled from the stop sign, striking a motorcycle driven by David W. Tomchik, 62, East Palestine. Tomchik and his passenger, Marietta L. Tomchik, 63, East Palestine, were both ejected from the motorcycle. They were taken to the SRMC with non life-threatening injuries.

– Ray F. Woods II, 23, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after rear-ending a vehicle driven by Keith B. Watson, 47, Beloit, on East State at 4:24 p.m. Sunday

– Tomasa De La Cruz Perez, 23, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and expire license after rear-ending a vehicle driven by Mary K. Bowers, 76, Salem, on Lincoln at Third at 7:40 p.m. Sunday.

– Police responded to a domestic disturbance on East Third at 3:59 a.m. Monday and found a pregnant woman who said a man had assaulted her and then fled. She declined treatment. Police returned later when the man returned to the home. He gathered his clothes and left. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.

Perry Township

– Police responded to a home in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 9:18 p.m. Friday where two tires on a vehicle were slashed. Police were familiar with the suspect and information was sent to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.

– Lora McMahan, 50, Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at 12:18 a.m. Saturday on West State.

– Police responded to South Lincoln at 9:41 p.m. Saturday for a sign being too bright for motorists. Police checked the sign finding it to be no hazard.

– While on a medical call at Pembrooke at 6:43 a.m. Sunday, a KLG ambulance was struck by another vehicle on a private drive causing cosmetic damage.

– Police responded to a noise complaint at Pem-brooke at 12:13 a.m. Monday where people were having a party outside. They were told to turn it down.

– A traffic stop on Steubenville Pike near Laughlin Mill Road for a left of center violation at 11:50 p.m. Saturday led to an OVI charge for Timothy Davis of Lisbon.

Columbiana

– While on patrol at 4:26 a.m. Saturday police found a man-made fire in the middle of the roadway at the railroad camp, which was recently put out. No one was found in the area.

– James Weikart reported at 12:33 p.m. Saturday someone may be dumping trash in his dumpster at Cashland.

– Kassandra Jaffe of Pet Hydrant reported at 3:07 p.m. Saturday a person was inside the store who was not welcome there. He left before police arrived.

– Christal Carr of Washingtonville was stopped in traffic facing east on state Route 14 waiting to turn left onto Windjammer Drive at 6:15 p.m. Saturday when she was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Brianna McNeese of New Waterford. McNeese was cited with assured clear distance and a seat belt violation.

– A reckless driver was reported in the Taco Bell lot at 7:12 p.m. Saturday. The man reportedly was driving a green Chevy Silverado and appeared confused. He pulled into the Burger King lot and at one point it was believed he passed out as he sat with his head down. Police spoke to the man, who did not seem to have any issues.

– A reckless driver was reported on West Salem Street and North Main, driving with the lights off and swerving at 10:06 p.m. Saturday. Police found the gray Jetta, which had no tail lights. The driver was allowed to use four-ways to continue home.

– A rowdy party was reported in the area of the Dutch Village Inn at 11:58 p.m. Saturday. Police received several noise complaints from customers.

Salem

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 12:44 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of East Pershing Street. Police spoke to both parties and found it was just a misunderstanding over trimming tree branches.

– A woman reported at 9:30 a.m. Sunday she saw an elderly woman walking on Depot Road and picked her up. She seemed confused, so she brought her to the police station. A short time later, a family member contacted police to report the woman missing and was told she was at the station. Family members picked her up.

– A woman in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 8:19 a.m. Sunday that she had a friend over night and when she woke up, she had money and medication missing.

– A domestic was reported in the 1200 block of Maple Street at 7:48 a.m. Sunday. A man said he didn’t want his grandson to live there anymore due to some money issues. The grandson was gone before police arrived. Police explained the eviction process.

– Police responded at 4:07 a.m. Sunday to an unknown dispute in the 300 block of West Ninth Street involving a man yelling with no shirt on. Officers could hear the person yelling and made contact, learning he locked himself out of his house and was unable to wake his roommate. Officers were able to contact the roommate and the man was let back inside.

– Loud persons were reported on Carole Drive at 12:32 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block. Officers spoke to a man who said while he was outside, a male known to him smashed his head into a car window. He chose not to pursue the matter.

– Police were called to the 400 block of East Second Street at 12:26 a.m. Sunday for a report of two suspicious people near the Salem Computer Center business. Officers made contact and the people said they were just using the wi-fi from the business.

– A fight was reported at 10:57 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East Third Street where a woman was seen yelling at a man on the front step of the apartment and several other people were on the sidewalk out front also yelling. Police learned a boyfriend and girlfriend who have a child together had an argument when he allegedly came home intoxicated. He allegedly pushed her and her mother then confronted him and began yelling at him. He agreed to stay at a friend’s for the night. The mother and girlfriend wanted nothing more done.

– Police were called at 10:23 p.m. Saturday to check on the well-being of a juvenile in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue based on a text message and photo received by another juvenile. The juvenile explained they were old pictures and no injury had occurred. The father was told to call police if there’s a problem.

– A woman in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 8:31 p.m. Saturday that she had been to Walmart at 6:30 p.m. and took a cab and one of her packages were missing. She said the cab driver helped her load and unload her purchases. She said a bag of several items of clothing was missing and she was unsure if she left it in the cab or at the business. The cab driver responded and said no bags were left in the cab and she checked the business to make sure no bag was left at the counter or turned in. Officers checked the store receipt and were unable to locate any clothing items listed as purchased. They’ll follow up with store video.

– A Leetonia resident reported at 6:20 p.m. Saturday that their unoccupied parked vehicle was damaged in a hit/skip near Cashland on East State. There were numerous gouges in the paint and scraped paint on the fender.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, 900 block of East State Street, reported at 6:06 p.m. Saturday that a female driving a brown Chevy Impala left without paying for $27 in gas.

– A man in the 500 block of Cherry Street reported harassment at 12:38 p.m. Saturday, saying his neighbor has been recording them riding their 4-wheeler on their own property. The neighbor told police he did record them but because part of where they were riding was not their property. Both sides were told their options.

– A woman in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:56 a.m. Saturday that she put her keys in the door lock and went inside her residence to grab her purse and returned to find the keys gone. She was told to look inside for them and call police if she finds them.

– Marcy Watt, Stanley Drive, Beloit, reported at 10:34 a.m. Saturday an SUV came through Stanley Court and smashed several mailboxes.

– Mike Cochran, Columbiana-Waterford Road, Columbiana, reported at 9:59 a.m. Saturday his neighbor dug up two of his pine trees and replanted them on his property. After deputies arrived, the neighbors were able to work it out and deputies were not needed.

Columbiana

– While on patrol at 2:23 a.m. Friday police found lights on at the garage at The Links. The building was found to be secure.

– A woman on South Bayshore Drive reported hearing possible gunshots at 3:12 p.m. Friday. It was found out to be noise from a device being used to scare away geese.

– George Paparodis, no address listed, reported at 3:24 p.m. Friday someone opened a credit card in his name in 2004.

– Kyle Karcher of Negley was stopped in traffic facing eastbound on state Route 14 at state Route 7 at 5:47 p.m. Friday when Tara Guy of East Palestine struck his vehicle from behind. Guy was cited for assured clear distance.

– A golf cart was reportedly being driven down the road on South Main Street near Union Avenue at 6:22 p.m. Friday. Police were unable to locate it.

– Police stopped a vehicle at Newton’s on state Route 7 at 7:33 p.m. Friday and found the driver, Oliver Aeschbacher, 26, had a warrant from Carroll County. He was transferred to Carroll County’s sheriff’s office.

– A man reported at 10:05 p.m. Friday someone threw a water bottle at him while he was driving down the road.

– A woman reported at 9:26 p.m. Friday there was a loose beagle at Save A Lot with no tags on its collar. The dog was returned to its owner.

Salem

– A clerk at Circle K West, 780 W. State St., reported at 12:46 a.m. Saturday stole a bottle.

-A woman on Continental Drive reported a possible prowler at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, saying she could hear juveniles talking outside her bedroom window. Officers found nobody.

– Police were dispatched at 12:06 a.m. Saturday to SRMC to take Samantha Sisco, 26, of Eden Valley, Pa., who also had an address in East Palestine, into custody for a parole violation.

– An anonymous person came to the police station at 9:14 p.m. Friday to report suspicious activity on Mullins, saying he believes he witnessed a drug exchange. He was able to provide the name of one of the persons involved and the description of a vehicle another person was driving. The information will be passed on to the county Drug Task Force officer.

– Jerry Billingsley, 19, of Georgetown Road, was cited for assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle on West State driven by Douglas Graybeal, 34, of New Albany, who was stopped in traffic at 6:37 p.m. Friday.

– Police were called at 5:04 p.m. Friday to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue for a person to be removed. The caller reported he allowed two people he didn’t know to stay the night and now he wanted them removed. Officers spoke with the two people who said they were leaving as soon as a ride arrived. At 5:40 p.m., police were called back to the same residence for an alleged theft, locating the suspect walking on Franklin near Ohio carrying the item reportedly stolen. The man gave conflicting stories on how he obtained the item. Officers spoke to the caller at the residence and he said the person in question took a video gaming system without permission. Kasmond Parker, 28, of Youngstown was charged with theft. Officers also located suspected drug paraphernalia in his possession, with charges pending.

Salem

– Firefighters were called at 9:47 p.m. Friday for a fire alarm at Ventra, 800 Pennsylvania Ave., then learned from police that there was confirmation of a working fire in the paint booth in the plant. The rest of the department was paged and maintenance workers advised the fire was in the elevated furnace area. They had discharged numerous fire extinguishers to contain the fire. Power to the furnace was shut down and a fork lift used to gain access to the area. The fire was extinguished and plastic products removed from the bottom of the furnace and all hot spots extinguished. The fire was contained to the furnace area. Firefighters checked with a thermal imaging camera and found no fire extension. Doors were opened for natural ventilation. Firefighters left the scene at 10:44 p.m.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– While on his way to work at 7:50 a.m. Monday, detective Jeff Haugh came cross an abandoned SUV off state Route 45 south of West Point. The SUV was covered in mud and the license plates came back to a Cena Beckley of East Liverpool, but the VIN plate was partially covered with a piece of paper and ownership could not be determined. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

-The security alarm went off at the B & S Carryout, state Route 39, Highlandtown, at 1 a.m. Thursday, but the owner called 15 minutes later to say everything appeared to be fine and there was no need for a deputy to respond.

Highway Patrol

– Michael A. Hanley, 59, Whinnery Road, Winona, was westbound on state Route 644 in Franklin Township at 10:27 p.m. Saturday and hit a cow.

– Dominic W. Southall, 21, Carter Road, New Waterford, was westbound on Carter Road in Unity Township at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday and went into a ditch and overturned.

– Alexander M. Exline, 33, South Lincoln Avenue, Lisbon, and another vehicle were southbound on state Route 11 in Austintown in Mahoning County at 6:14 pm. Monday and the driver of the other vehicle made an improper lane change forcing Exline off the road and then continued on.

– Maria P. Craig, 43, Steubenville, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 3:21 p.m. Monday and slide off the left side into the median. She was cited for failure to control.

– Thomas E. Fox, 56, Toronto, was northbound on state route 7 in Elkrun Township at 1:15 a.m. Monday and struck Juan A. Freeman, 47, Augusta, Ga., who was westbound on state Route 154 and proceeded through the red light at the intersection. Freeman was cited for signal lights and Fox was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Joshua Adam Gardner, 21, West Park Avenue, Columbiana, was westbound on Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 9:39 p.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a culvert and an embankment. He was cited for failure to control.

– Tony D. Rump, 33, Beaver Falls, Pa., was northbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 5:44 p.m. Saturday and went off the left side into a building. He was cited for failure to control and OVI.

Lisbon

– A caller reported man was loitering about in the Save-A-Lot parking lot at 9 p.m. Thursday and asking customers for money. The suspect was gone by the time police arrived.

Columbiana

– Police found high grass zoning violations at a home on Park Place near Fitzpatrick Avenue, a home on Lakefront Avenue and homes at 126 W. Park Ave. and 137 N. Elm St. on Thursday.

– Wendi Pancake of Columbiana was stopped in traffic northbound on North Main Street at 5 p.m. Thursday and Michael King of Canton was also northbound and struck Pancake from behind. King was cited for assured clear distance.

– Someone reported at 5:12 p.m. Thursday there was a car driving down the sidewalk in the area of North Main and Seventh streets. Police checked but did not find the car.

East Palestine

– Betty A. Frederick, 68, West Street, was attempting to use an ATM machine at a bank on Lincoln Avenue at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday when she fell from the vehicle and the vehicle moved forward across the North Market Street intersection and struck the Fuller’s True Value Hardware building. She was cited for failure to control. No injuries were reported.

– Sherry L. Felger reported at 1:31 p.m. Tuesday her Amazon account was accessed by someone she doesn’t know and they made purchases using her debit card. Felger told police she had created a new account and contacted Amazon but the problem continued. She has since canceled the card.

– Police were called to the waste water treatment plant on Park Drive at 11:21 a.m. Tuesday for a report that a semi making a delivery had failed to properly navigate through the plant and struck the corner of a pole building, pulling it onto the tank that it was built to cover.

– Police conducted a welfare check on a South Washington Street woman at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday and found she was fine but she told police she was being harassed and intimated by several of her neighbors. Police spoke with the landlord and found the neighbors were adhering to the rules and the woman was confused by their actions. The landlord told police she would contact the woman’s relatives and tell them to stop by more often.

– Jeffery Sayer, 20, address not listed, was arrested for OVI and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on East Clark Street at 1:13 a.m. Saturday. His passenger, Andrew Mayer, 22, address not listed, was cited for open container.

– Ralph W. Sayer III, 35, address not listed, was arrested at 9:49 p.m. Friday at 142 N. Sumner St. on a failure to pay child support warrant through the county sheriff’s office.

East Liverpool

– Darrell A. Baumgarner of Salineville, a driver of a tractor-trailer owned by Kotanchek Trucking of Kinsman, reportedly backed the vehicle into a stopped vehicle driven by Craig Clemson of Youngstown, on May 20 at the railroad tracks which separates Second Street from River Road. According to reports, Baumgarner had stopped the semitrailer, which did not have a load, while on the tracks and started to back up, not seeing the Clemson vehicle, which sustained moderate damage.

– Vehicles driven by Dennis R. Byers of Wellsville and Alycia J. Gates of East Liverpool were involved in a head-on collision May 17 along Oakwood Street, near intersections with Louise and Ceramic streets. Gates admitted to officers she drove slightly left of center and witnesses stated Byers was looking at his cellphone, which he corroborated. The report concluded that both drivers were “inattentive.” Byers also was cited for driving under suspension. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. A child, age 5, in the Gates vehicle was taken by ambulance to City Hospital with possible injuries.

– Officers responded to Woodland Hills for a report of Dustin Whaley punching holes in the walls, screaming and making threats. Whaley told officers he was upset because a 4-year-old girl who was at his residence struck him in the face when he told her to go home. A woman at the residence said she never saw the girl strike Whaley. No charges were filed.

– Amy Cunningham, Orchard Grove, reported a man tried to gain entry to her home through the front door. Officers could not locate him.

– Kylee N. Travers, West Fourth Street, reported someone made an unauthorized transaction on her bank account.

– Kelly Reed, Wilbert Avenue, reported her vehicle and others parked in the parking lot have been tampered with and vandalized over the past several weeks, and hers was damaged again Tuesday.

– Jeff Porto and his girlfriend were at her daughter’s residence in Woodland Hills looking for his girlfriend’s juvenile daughter when Porto and her daughter’s boyfriend had words. Each claimed being assaulted by the other and were advised to see the law director if they wanted charges filed. Porto was advised not to return to Woodland Hills.

– An officer reported Tuesday stopping a cab on Moore Street after what appeared to be a drug transaction between two people. No other information was reported.

– Norman Bender, 41, no address listed, was charged with criminal trespass Tuesday after Giant Eagle employees reported he was on the property although he is on the no trespass list.

– Officers responded to a complaint by Norman R. Merritt, Wilbert Avenue, that a woman came into an apartment from which he was moving and started a problem, also reporting that Bud Hull, 35, West Ninth Street, and another man were threatening him. Hull was on the no trespass list for the property and was arrested for criminal trespass.

St. Clair Township

– Taco Bell manager Angel L. Canfield reported a person paid at the drive-up window with a counterfeit $10 bill. The bill was sent to the Secret Service.

– Officials of First National Community Bank reported a counterfeit bill was received, and it was sent to the Secret Service.

– Cole E. Trotter, no address listed, reported theft of his debit card, which was used at PNC Bank.

– Kelsey M. Jarvis, Foulks Drive, reported harassment, with no other details reported.

– Officers performed a welfare check on a woman at the Echo Dell Trailer Park and found her to be fine.

– While southbound on state Route 11, a vehicle driven by Chase M. Grogg, 24, South Main Street, Columbiana lost traction with the roadway, spun around clockwise and struck a guardrail and Jersey barrier. The report noted the tires had insufficient tread, causing them to lose contact with the road. No injuries or charges were reported.

Wellsville

– Police were called to the Save-A-Lot at 2:20 a.m. Thursday after a trailer owned by Superior Beverage Group of Solon sunk into the ground on one side. Driver Raymond Johnson told police he was on the lift gate when the trailer started leaning. An officer observed the left wheels off the ground and was being held up by another trailer next to it. Both trailers were damaged from the incident. Johnson appeared to be in pain but declined medical attention. A tow truck was called to the site.

Salem

– Police responded to the 300 block of West State Street at 7:54 a.m. and found a severe water line break. The water and street departments were notified and police stood by until the road was blocked off.

– A complainant from the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge advised police at 11:04 p.m. Friday, they left their car in the Fuel Club parking lot with a flat tire. They had the owner’s permission to leave it there and when they returned to fix it on Wednesday the car was gone. Information was taken.

– At 10:26 a.m. Friday, police located a backpack with DVD’s Big Hero 6, and other items in it and it was placed in the lost and found.

– At 12:28 p.m. Friday, police received a complaint from a person who was parked in the East Second Street plaza lot and their vehicle was struck by another that left the scene. There was minor damage and the complainant’s wife obtained a license plate number that came back to a Lisbon owner.

– Police responded to the 200 block of Penn Avenue at 10:44 p.m. Thursday for a domestic over finances between a husband and wife. Information was gathered through a translator and it was learned the man smacked his wife in the head and tried to take one of the children away from her. She was taken to the hospital due to the fact she recently had surgery. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the husband who was gone when police arrived.

– Police responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 12:39 p.m. Thursday for a report of threats and menacing and was advised through a translator that a man threatened her and her family. Hardly any information was obtained.

– Police responded to the 600 block of Arch Street for medical call where the door may have been locked and a woman was transported to the hospital.

– Police responded to the 600 block of East Fifth Street for a juvenile problem and the complainant was advised they were civil issues.

– At 6:54 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 400 block of Fair Avenue where the complainant advised he had an item stolen in the past and believed he may have located it. An officer checked it and found no evidence it was stolen.

– Police responded to the Newgarden Avenue area near the railroad tracks at 6:22 p.m. Thursday and located two juveniles who were playing near the tracks. An adult who was working nearby said he will keep a closer watch on them.

– At 6:01 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Centennial Park near Maple Street where a portable toilet was on fire. Police and the fire department extinguished it and witnesses advised several juveniles were observed in the area prior to the fire. Police checked the are but were unable to locate them.

– At 4:40 p.m. Thursday, a complainant was on station regarding a possible fight he observed on a social medial page and wanted the incident documented.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Amanda Medure, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, reported at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday a man knocked on her door earlier in the day. He was wearing blue sweat pants and a gray shirt, dark hair, thin and about five-foot-seven to five-foot-nine. He wanted to use her phone to call the school regarding his ill son and asked her to open the door so he could talk to her because of the noise on the road. She refused to open the door, locked it and he left walking eastbound on U.S. Route 30. Deputies checked the area, but did not find him.

– Jeff Mattern, Bye Road, East Palestine, reported at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday ex-wife, Tracy Lemly, is at a trailer on his mother’s property and Lemly took a three burner stainless steel grill belonging to him from his front porch. Deputies explained it is a civil matter.

– Michael Spencer, state Route 45, Salem, reported at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday he wants Jeremy McElroy removed from his property. Spencer claims he only allowed him to stay for a couple days, but that was two weeks ago and McElroy refuses to go. Deputies explained to Spencer he needs to start the eviction process through the court. Spencer and his girlfriend, Lakeisha Richardson, and their children left while deputies stood by.

Lisbon

– While investigating a trash complaint on East Washington Street at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Shar Daub saw a small dog tied up with no food or water. The dog also appeared to be underfed, so the county dog warden was notified. When Sunshine Burely called in about the garbage outside her house, she was told this was the fourth time police had spoken with someone at the apartment about the problem and that as the renter she was responsible. As for the dog, Burely said it belongs to Corey Miller, who also lives there, and she said he never feeds the dog.

– A clerk at the BP station reported at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday that three people had just came into the store to purchase individual cans of beer. The trio said they were trying to get to Youngstown to catch a train, and when police arrived only a female was loitering around outside. She said her two male companions had already left and she was trying to find a ride to Maine. Police warned her about drinking beer in public.

-Tonia Duncan-Lydic, who works in town, reported Wednesday being harassed by someone she knows.

– Kathryn A. Matheson, 20, Sunset Drive, was charged with wrongful entrustment of her motor vehicle to her husband after he was arrested in town on Wednesday for driving with a suspended license.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday someone in a green colored Chevy truck was driving recklessly on South Main Street. Police were able to locate the vehicle but did not see any traffic violations.

– Dave Coie reported at 8 a.m. Wednesday someone in an older green Dodge pickup with a trailer loaded up about 40 pallets from Ace Hardware and drove away. The man later reported learning the driver was supposed to be picking up the pallets and there was no problem.

– Gary Newton, Washingtonville, reported at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday someone he knows came into D’Lux Motors to discuss an ongoing court case and he requested the person leave.

– Gary Leonard reported at 5:31 p.m. Wednesday two dogs were running loose in the Firestone Cemetery near Bell Avenue. Police checked the area but did not find the dogs.

– Rebecca Thompson, Columbiana, was cited for suspended operator’s license and improper turn following a traffic stop at Taco Bell at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday.

Salineville

-A Madison Avenue resident reported at 10:10 p.m. May 13 someone posted a link on Facebook that showed nude pictures of her adult daughter. After an investigation, it was determined her adult daughter participated in some type of website that paid money for photos and videos of this nature. The mother was advised that the East Liverpool Police Department also has an active investigation regarding other females linked to Facebook, but at this time, East Liverpool officials do not have any active cases with regard to this Facebook activity. An officer advised the woman that no charges will be filed since her daughter was paid two years ago for the images.

– A state Route 164 woman reported at 11 p.m. May 12 that the state of Ohio hired a third party to remove trees and other debris from a hill, and now her backyard appears to be eroding. She said approximately 33 trees were removed that resulted in her backyard sinking and her above-ground swimming pool shifting toward the hillside. An officer found several new or repaired sink holes and observed slight movement to the pool. The woman said she will appeal to the state for further action.

– Alan Taylor, Academy Street, reported at 10 p.m. May 12 he received unwanted cell phone calls and texts from people who live outside of Ohio. He said he was part of an internet community forum website similar to Skype or Twitter which does live visual chatting, and that some people took a dislike to him and would search his phone number and post his address on social media. Taylor was advised to change his number and not participate in internet activity where he would be bullied.

-A woman reported May 11 her underage daughter was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend at Southern Local High School. School personnel and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s office are handling the investigation. Later in the night, the same boy was driving by the woman’s home with other men and attempted to speak with the girl. An officer advised the mother to allow the Sheriff’s office to handle the investigation at the school and to have the daughter cease contact with the boy. An officer also contacted the boy’s mother to advise him to also cease contact.

-An East Main Street man reported around 1 p.m. May 8 that someone drove over a brick that was used as a property divider and broke it. Nicol Richter then spoke to officers and apologized to the man, assuring it would not happen again.

-During a village council meeting on May 5, a Maple Hill Road resident complained about trash and other debris which included an abandoned shell of a trailer on Maple Hill. An officer contacted Jennifer Jarvis, who said she was in the process of tearing down the trailer. An officer reminded Jarvis that she will be issued a summons to appear in court if the debris and shell are not removed properly. She was given 15 days to clean up the matter.

– A Dollar General manager reported May 5 that a group of children were stealing merchandise from the store. An officer made contact with one of the boys, in which $10.72 worth of merchandise was found in his possession, which included a can of Budweiser beer that was separated from a six pack, woman’s nail glue and a small bag of candy. The information was sent to county juvenile prosecutor Bret Apple for theft charges. The boy is also facing other serious criminal charges through juvenile court. The boy was returned to his father, and was advised he is banned from the store.

-A High Street resident reported May 5 someone used his personal information to obtain cable services in 2010 without his consent. The bill totaled $500. He explained he was a Salem resident at the time, and an officer advised him to contact Salem police.

-While on patrol at 9:38 p.m. April 29, officers pulled over Douglas Ray McCourt and cited him for loud exhaust and no license plate lights. During the stop, the passenger, Amy Manning, provided a fictitious name so as not to be arrested for warrants. Manning was cited for falsification, obstructing official business and possibly identity theft. She also has pending charges for similar events that occurred with police to include a police referral to Columbiana County Children Services a day earlier for child neglect.

Wellsville

-Courtney Kountz, Appian Way, reported at 9:43 a.m. Saturday she and her 9-year-old son went to bed around 10:30 p.m. the night before and awoke Saturday morning to find someone entered through the kitchen window which was unlocked. Items that were on the window sill-a candle, a piggy bank and some canisters-were found on the porch. Kountz said she moved the items back into the house and called her nephew, to see if he entered the house the night before, but he said he had not. She also reported that her purse was taken off the kitchen table, and she found it outside next to her house. Among the items that went missing were credit cards, a debit card, a Social Security card and her company’s gas card. The items that were moved were taken into evidence to be fingerprinted by BCI.

-While on patrol at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, an officer noticed Robert L. Wright Jr. passed out on the side of 11th Street in a wooded area near Brick Alley. Wright reportedly was unable to stand on his own and had a strong odor of alcohol on him. Wright was cited for disorderly conduct by way of public intoxication.

Salem

– Police were called at 10:45 a.m. Thursday to Arch Street where a female was having a medical issue. She was treated by fire department first responders and transported to Salem Regional Medical Center after Damascus EMS responded. Both EMT and KLG ambulance companies were unavailable.

– Police responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday for a telecommunications harassment complaint. A woman babysat and said she had a dispute with the mother of the child she watched, resulting in numerous text messages from the other person, some she considered harassing in nature. An officer made contact with the other person and advised her of the potential criminal charges if she persisted with harassing texts and phone calls or social media.

– An intoxicated pedestrian was reported in the area of East State Street and Highland Avenue at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday. The person was located on Brooklyn Avenue and said he was walking home. Aside from a slow pace, the officer saw no indications that he was a danger to himself or others. The officer monitored his walk home after a second complaint alleging he was walking in the middle of Third Street. The only time the officer saw him in the street was when he crossed it to get to the other side.

– A barking dog was reported at 6:57 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of West School Street. Police monitored the area and no violation was found.

– A caller at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday reported suspicious activity in a vehicle in the Salem Plaza parking lot, 2350 E. State St. An officer spoke to a male and female, both observed to be fully clothed at that time, and advised them that certain activities are unacceptable in public and someone called to report they were behaving inappropriately.

– An audible alarm was reported at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of West Ninth Street. The exterior of the building was secure.

– A solicitor was reported at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Vine Avenue. An officer arrived and found a representative of the U.S. Census Bureau.

– A woman in the 200 block of East Second Street reported at 4:57 p.m. Wednesday that several juveniles threw an item at her vehicle. There was no damage and the juveniles were gone.

– A report of fraud was taken at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of East Fourth Street. A woman reported she had charges on her account from another state.

– A woman on Cleveland Street reported at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday that her daughter was picked up at her residence by her paternal grandparents without permission at 2 p.m. Tuesday. She said she has custody and it was her day to have the girl. The girl was taken to their home and she was able to pick her daughter up from school on Wednesday when school let out. She told her attorney about it and doesn’t want the grandparents coming to her residence or interfering with custody.

St. Clair Township

– Todd E. White, 29, Youngstown, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of marijuana following the May 18 traffic stop along Y & O Road in Glenmoor.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Jerrod Butts, New Garden Avenue, Salem, reported at 5:16 p.m. Tuesday he was supposed to pick up his children at their aunt’s after work. His ex’s father was there and told Butts he was not getting the children for visitation. At a recent court hearing regarding child custody, Butts had requested DNA testing to establish paternity for the children, ages 9 and 11. The mother, Melissa Fredrick, spoke to deputies and informed them she does not want the children going with Butts, and they informed him of her wishes.

– Jeremy McElroy, state Route 45, Salem, reported an assault at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday. When deputies arrived he was standing in the drive with a black minivan sitting in the driveway facing the road. Inside the minivan was his roommate Mike Spencer and Spencer’s girlfriend Lakeisha Richardson. McElroy claimed Spencer held him down while Richardson hit his legs with a pipe. Both Spencer and McElroy had scrapes and bruises. Spencer was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant. All three were asked to come to the sheriff’s department to give statements at a later time.

– William Fleming, Depot Road, Lisbon, reported he and his wife are separated, but on Tuesday he went to the home to get personal property. He was able to get everything except his debit card. Deputies spoke to his wife, Lorraine, who said she had no problem giving him his card, but he had bought a new phone on her account and she wanted the phone back. Both agreed to hand over their respective property to the other.

Salem Township

– Someone reported at 1:09 p.m. Tuesday a burgundy Chevy had been traveling on Old state Route 344, when they drove into Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Grafton Road, and over some headstones. Someone in charge of the cemetery was notified and determined it did not appear any headstones were damaged, just grass damage from the tire tracks.

-Tammy L. Little, Old Route 344, reported a telephone scam on Monday.

-Shelby M. Paparodis, 19, Lake Avenue, Salem, was cited for failure to control and failure to use her seat belt after she reportedly swerved to miss a deer and drove into a ditch at the intersection of Leetonia and Crestview roads about 2 a.m. Sunday. The crash was not reported but discovered by the township constable, and the report was based on what he was told by the driver.

East Palestine

– Ralph W. Sayer III, 35, address not listed, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office at 9:49 p.m. Friday on North Sumner Street.

Columbiana

– Police found the lights on at the building at the Metz ball fields at 12:43 a.m. Tuesday. There were no problems.

– A Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputy requested assistance at 4:36 a.m. Tuesday at 3302 state Route 164 for a report that someone believed a suspect from a break-in was still inside the home. Police were en route to the home but the call was canceled after someone determined the suspect was not inside the home.

– A state Route 7 man reported at noon Tuesday he was scammed on the Internet. He reported that he sent money for marijuana and grow lights that he wanted to purchase and he didn’t receive them. The man was referred to the county sheriff’s office since he lived outside the city.

– A man, name and address not listed, reported telecommunication harassment at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday.

– A man reported at 8:51 p.m. Tuesday his ex-wife was driving recklessly whenever she comes to pick up their daughter at the Sunoco at the state Routes 7 and 14 intersection. Police checked but the woman was no longer there.

Lisbon

– Scott Matheson, 22, Sunset Drive, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Sherman Street at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. He was also issued a warning for driving with a faulty exhaust.

– Emily Cochran, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, reported her vehicle was struck by another vehicle driven by Tammy Ketchum, Steubenville Pike, while in the Rite Aid parking lot at 10:36 a.m. Monday.

– A mother reported May 14 that her son was being bullied at school. She indicated she was working with the school to resolve the problem.

– Two people called about a man who became angry after a woman motorist cut in front of him at the BP station at 10:35 a.m. May 12. The woman reportedly apologized, saying she did not realize he was in line. A witness who was in line behind the irate man said the man asked him if there was a problem and then flashed a gun and told him he was not afraid to use it. The man was driving a green Blazer with a white stripe.

Goshen Police District

– Paul R. Wilke, 48, 13993 W. Pine Lake Road, Salem, cited for failure to confine dog, a minor misdemeanor, after his dog allegedly leapt into the road nearly striking the cruiser of a patrolling officer and forcing the officer to take evasive action at 7:31 p.m. Tuesday. According to the police report, the officer spoke with Wilke, who had previously been warned for failing to keep his dogs on the property, and Wilke claimed that they were “free range dogs” and the officers needed to address other issues in the township. Wilke became irate when issued the citation and refused to sign it or provide proof of dog registration. He and his wife argued with officers regarding the citation and other matters before the wife took a copy of the citation, then tossed it back onto an officer’s clipboard and becoming irate again. They were warned Wilke had to show up for his court date or have a warrant put out for failure to appear.

Salem

– An officer traveling south on Ellsworth Avenue at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday was stopped by a male who said he found a debit/credit card on the ground near Club Fuel on Railroad Street. The owner was contacted and said she already got a new card, telling police to destroy the one found.

– A lost item was brought to the police station at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday from Penn Avenue. The owner was contacted.

– Police were called at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday for suspicious activity at a store in the Salem Plaza, 2350 E. State St., where customers were found outside and no one had come to open the business at its usual time. A female employee was contacted and said she would see what was going on, then the other manager from the store downtown came and advised they were going to help out. All appeared to be fine, the store just didn’t open. The lights are on a timer, which is why they were on.

– A dispute between a male and female on Monroe Street was reported at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday. No violence occurred, just an argument. The female left on foot after both sides spoke to police.

– A dog was reported in the road in the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, but was not found.

– Police responded to a medical in the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 3:09 a.m. Wednesday and stood by as medical personnel assessed a female and transported her to Salem Regional Medical Center.

– A woman reported at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday that she was driving by her daughter’s home in the 400 block of Columbia Street and found her vehicle had eggs thrown on it.

– A 17-year-old Salem boy was cited for a juvenile traffic offense for failure to maintain control after police investigated a report at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday of a black pickup that ran off the road and into a yard near East State Street and South Madison Avenue. The vehicle reportedly accelerated too quickly while turning from State onto Madison. The caller gave a description and followed the debris on Southeast Boulevard as far as Ridgewood. Officers saw a vehicle fitting the description and made a traffic stop on South Lincoln Avenue. The juvenile driver initially denied driving off the road, but acknowledged his responsibility after officers explained the criminal charges for giving false information. A witness stopped and affirmed it was that truck.

– Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday to check the well-being of a resident who sustained minor injuries after falling earlier. An off-duty officer had stopped to assist the person at the time of the fall and said the person declined medical assistance. The person was contacted and said they were okay, thanking officers for their assistance and concern.

– Robert K. Turner, 47, of 294 Brooklyn Ave., was taken into custody at 2:08 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of East State Street for an active arrest warrant.

– A mother in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 8 a.m. Monday that her 13-year-old son in seventh grade was refusing to go to school. After a short discussion with police, he agreed to go and discuss things with his mother on the way.

– Timothy Jancel, Cameron Street, Winona, reported at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday there was a suspicious vehicle at the Winona Park. Deputies spoke to the woman driving in the area fitting the description and she told them she recently moved in with her parents in the area. Her mother has asthma and she will not smoke in the house, so she drives to the park to smoke.

– Tina Dasher, Torma Road, Lisbon, reported at 6:13 p.m. Monday she heard six gun shots at about 5 p.m., but did not hear anymore after that.

– Patricia Bilsky, state Route 164, Columbiana, reported at 4:51 a.m. Tuesday she lives in a smaller house on the same property as a larger house, which is used by family on the weekends. She found the doors to the larger house unsecure and the lights on. Deputies found no one inside.

-Joyce Lacey, McClure Road, New Waterford, reported at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday someone was trying to pry open their back door. Deputies checked the area, but found no one about.

– Bill Lanzendorfer, state Route 164, Columbiana, reported at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday someone attempted to enter his home by prying open the patio door. He did not hear anyone, but his niece called him and he checked the door finding the damage.

– Stacey Richardson, state Route 164, Columbiana, reported at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday she heard someone in the house, possibly upstairs. Deputies checked the inside of the home, but did not find anyone. Richardson told deputies she heard something upstairs and when she went to check for the cause she found the side sliding door open and several lights on. Nothing appeared to be missing.

– Kurt Holloway, Brookfield Road, Lisbon, reported at 10:08 p.m. Sunday Greg Morlan threatened him and grabbed him by the shirt. A woman at the home told deputies she heard Morlan tell Holloway he was going to smash his head off the wall. Morlan was charged with menacing.

– Ethel Smega, state Route 14, New Waterford, reported at 10:47 a.m. Friday she was locked out of her home by John Harvey. Deputies spoke to Harvey, who told them his mother-in-law Smega recently got out of a medical facility and seems to have taken a step backward.

Highway Patrol

– Gregory A. Rager, 56, Cuyahoga Falls, was westbound on Columbiana-Waterford Road in Fairfield Township at 11:20 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch then rolled onto the right side into a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Mickey E. Dillinger, 63, West Pidgeon Road, Salem, and Jacob V. Clark, 23, Odessa, Texas, were southbound on state Route 9 in Hanover Township at 3 p.m. Friday and Dillinger backed into Clark. Dillinger was cited for improper backing.

– Nathan Joseph Wolfe Sabatino, 18, Third Street, Summitville, was eastbound on Fink Road in Franklin Township at 11:59 p.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a stop sign and then went off the left side into a wood fence. He was cited for failure to control.

– Katherine M. Hipsley, 19, state Route 39, Salineville, was eastbound on Cameron Road in Madison Township at 9:50 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch, then rotated counter-clockwise and slid of the left side over an embankment and overturned. She was cited for failure to control.

Lisbon

– Mary Jarvis, Vine Street, East Liverpool, reportedly backed into a parked vehicle belonging to Michael Bugara of Alliance in the Columbiana County Courthouse parking lot at 10:52 a.m. Monday.

– Police were called to the corner of North Beaver and West Pine streets at 7:41 p.m. May 12 in regard to an elderly man who had fallen. The man was identified as Al Crothers from the Allay Senior Care Center, and he was bleeding from the head. Crothers was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

– Chris Szaeo of the Karvo Paving Co., which is doing paving in town, reported Friday he suspects William Catlett of stealing road grindings from its stockpile at the D.W. Dickey & Sons lot on East Washington Street. Catlett was contacted and said he paid for three truck loads of grindings from Karvo prior to April 29. Police then spoke with Dick Cope from D.W. Dickey, who said saw Catlett, who told him he hard purchased grindings. Cope thinks someone from Karvo took a payment under the table and then loaded it for Catlett because there is no way Catlett could have gotten those grindings in the middle of the day without someone from Karvo loading it for him.

– Police were called to West High Street at 10:23 p.m. Saturday in regard to a father and his juvenile-age daughter over her cellphone. The daughter said he father had threatened to take the cellphone she purchased and smash it because she was being unruly. Just then, her father came downstairs and the daughter began screaming at him. She then threw her cellphone on the ground and began stomping on it, and the officer had to step between her and her father. Meanwhile, police determined there was arrest warrant for the father out of Belmont County, and Ron Inman was taken into custody. Meanwhile, the daughter was told to mind her stepmother.

– Police were called to an apartment house on North Market Street at 8:12 p.m. Sunday, where Scott Rutter reported the dogs in an apartment appeared to have been abandoned and were barking non-stop. Police determined the owner worked at the Shale Tavern and contacted him. The owner returned home to take the one dog with him and arrangements were made to have someone else care for the other dog.

– Joseph Castelucci, South Lincoln Avenue, reported Sunday afternoon Jesse Cote had pulled into his driveway and then did burnouts when he left after Castelucci refused to speak with him.

– Alisa Hall was at the St. George Catholic Church rectory at 7:18 a.m. Sunday when she heard a radio playing upstairs. Police found an alarm clock on the second floor that had been set for 6:30 a.m.

– Thomas Gushert III, Exchange Street, reported Sunday his 1985 Suburban was stolen from his driveway overnight.

– The security alarm at Cherished Children was going off at 9:30 p.m. Friday, and police arrived to find the building to be secure.

– Police were called to the Sparkle supermarket lot at 11 p.m. Friday to assist a county sheriff’s deputy who found a man sleeping on the ground near the entrance. The man said he was homeless and just looking for a place to sleep for the night. The deputy sent the man on his way.

-Police responded to a barking dog complaint in the 300 block of East Washington Street at 8:29 a.m. Sunday. Police did not hear any barking dogs when they arrived.

– A caller reported there was a dog chasing the mailman and juveniles in the area of Sherman and Hostettler streets at 11:26 a.m. Saturday. Police found a little black dog, which was very aggressive and attempted to bite the officer. Police contacted the unidentified owner, who was warned that she could not have her dog running loose and trying to bite people. She told police this would not happen again.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 11 a.m. Monday someone in a white Ford with Pennsylvania license plates was driving erratically on state Route 14 near state Route 164. Police checked the area but did not see the vehicle.

– Police stood by for traffic control at noon Monday on state Route 7 north of state Route 14 while the electric crew removed a downed AT&T line from the road.

– Solicitors permits were issued to Jason and Valerie Mangus of Leetonia for J&V Lawn Care at 12:32 p.m. Monday.

– Danielle Garner, North Main Street, reported theft of a prescription drug at 12:43 p.m. Monday.

– Ronald Hagen, West Park Avenue, requested at 4:30 p.m. Monday police escort him to his home.

– Wanda Cervello reported at 5:10 p.m. Monday there was a possible water main break at 121 W. Salem St. Police checked the area but did not see a water main break.

– A man requested at 7 p.m. Monday police escort a Sparkle employee to the bank. The escort was made with no issues.

– Greg Aker reported at 7:20 p.m. Monday there was a purse with some credit cards in a sewer grate near Eldon and Beverly streets.

– A woman reported at 12:37 a.m. Sunday a suspicious white man was staring at her and some other people from behind the bushes in their backyard on Fairfield Avenue. Police checked but did not find the man.

– Police found a small child’s bicycle in the middle of the traffic circle at 3:19 a.m. Sunday and moved it from the road.

– A Bell Avenue man reported at 12:27 p.m. Sunday his vehicle was entered during the night.

– An East Park Avenue man reported at 12:49 p.m. Sunday a large basket of pink petunias was stolen from his porch.

– A North Pearl Street man reported at 1 p.m. Sunday there was a man walking and dancing in the middle of North Pearl Street who was wearing headphones and wasn’t paying attention to cars coming down the road. Police found the man and warned him of the complaint.

– Danny Lockard, requested at 1:29 p.m. Sunday police accompany him to a Howard Street home so he could serve an eviction notice. Lockard changed his mind while on the way there, however.

– A Firestone Avenue woman reported at 3:49 p.m. Sunday a three-year-old went missing from a home there. Police found the boy.

– Rachel McDaniel, James Street, reported at 4:42 p.m. Sunday someone removed items from her vehicle during the night.

– A woman reported at 5:18 p.m. Sunday two small children were very close to the road along East Park and Elm Street. Police found the child and told their parents about the complaint.

– Ronald Hagen, 54, Columbiana, was arrested for domestic violence at 221 W. Park Ave. at 8:13 pm. Sunday.

– A woman reported at 9:35 p.m. Sunday a man was going through the trash at Lantern Square apartments. Police checked the area but did not find the man.

– Brenda Martin, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 9:58 p.m. Sunday someone removed about two gallons of gasoline from her 2006 red Buick parked in the driveway.

– Lynn E. Stewart, 56, North Main Street, was cited for assured clear distance after striking the back of a vehicle driven by John P. Sullivan, 60, Petersburg, while she was pulling from the Duke and Duchess parking lot and Sullivan was southbound on state Route 164 at 10 p.m. Friday.

– A man reported at 1:27 p.m. Saturday a woman and man had been hanging out along Heck Road for a while with no car around. Police checked on the couple and found the woman had been involved in a bicycle crash but it was outside city limits. The county sheriff’s office was notified.

– Kim Gamble, South Vine Street, reported at 5 p.m. Saturday a child at the home was being unruly. Police spoke with the child.

– April Seibert, Spruce Street, reported at 5:10 p.m. Saturday her 14-year-old son was being unruly.

– Brenda Carder, state Route 14, reported at 7 p.m. Saturday someone stole the battery from her vehicle. Police determined it was a civil matter.

– Police assisted the highway patrol with a vehicle accident on Columbiana-Waterford Road at 11:12 p.m. Saturday.

– A man reported at 5:23 a.m. Friday an RV was broken down on state Route 7 near the candle shop. Police checked and found it to be part of the Men’s Rally in the Valley following their walkers.

– A man reported at 6:27 a.m. Friday Richard Gorcheff was hitting the ATM machine at Chase Bank with his walker and screaming at it. Police checked on him and showed him the correct way to use the machine.

– Police warned an Oak Street resident for allowing their dog to run at large at 10:34 a.m. Friday after receiving a complaint.

– Greg Raneri, West Salem Street, reported at noon Friday he wanted to press theft charges on his ex-girlfriend.

– Jenny Wehr, East Park Avenue, reported at 1:19 p.m. Friday there was an opossum in the back yard that wasn’t dead yet. Police euthanized the animal.

– Someone reported at 7:45 p.m. Friday there was a suspicious man at the rear of the fire department looking through stuff. Police checked but did not find the man.

– Cara English, South Main Street, reported at 8:16 p.m. Friday her son’s bicycle was taken from the home. Police found the bicycle later and stood by until the person who took it returned it to the boy.

– Virgil Felger, Pueblo Lane, reported at 10:16 p.m. Friday someone was setting off fireworks in the area. Police checked but did not see or hear any fireworks.

– A Harmony Village resident reported at 11:16 p.m. Friday someone in a dark HHR type came racing up and the street and tried to hide in the parking lot.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called Tuesday morning to a West Drury Lane residence to remove Jonathon D. Ellison, 28, Toronto, the call coming from his girlfriend, who was in labor in a Pittsburgh hospital at the time. Officers found Ellison on the porch and said he told them, “Beat feet, you aren’t needed here,” then took a defensive posture. He was bleeding from his fist and smelled strongly of alcohol, according to reports. Officers learned he had an outstanding warrant and said he became combative and balled up both fists when told he was under arrest. He reportedly struggled with officers, causing Detective John Headley to suffer abrasions when he struck a brick house during the struggle. He had to be forcibly placed into the cruiser, where officers heard a noise and found him with a gash on his forehead and blood on the rail of the sliding window. He told emergency room staff that the gash was caused by being elbowed by officer Rob Smith, who he reportedly threatened, along with other officers. Ellison was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct/intoxication.

– Jayson Jackson, no address listed, reported his daughter is having issues with another girl at Westgate School and wanted officers to speak to his daughter. His daughter told officers she was walking down the hallway and the other girl shoved her. She told the girl to stop but the other girl said no and shoved her again. Jackson’s daughter told officers she ran into her classroom and sent a text to her father as she had been instructed to do.

– Officers were called to Nentwick’s Convalescent Home, Selfridge Street, Sunday morning for a patient making threats to employees and other patients. The staff reported that Dale Peasner, 53, Pittsburgh, was yelling in the face of a wheelchair-bound resident, telling him to get out of the chair and fight. They said Peasner picked up a chair to hit the other patient then went outside, where he pulled down his pants and underwear and began walking around. The staff attempted to have him admitted to the hospital for evaluation, but the hospital refused to accept Peasner, according to police, who charged him with menacing and transported him to the county jail. There, jailers also refused to accept him, saying he belonged in the hospital. Officers brought Peasner back to the police station and prepared their own paperwork declaring him in need of evaluation, and the hospital admitted him.

– After seeing two men talking to someone in a vehicle at the BP station parking lot, officers passed by and the two men ducked underneath a semi and then ran towards Poplar Street. One of the men was carrying a plastic shopping bag which he dropped when officers approached. He denied having a shopping bag when asked what was in it, according to reports. After officers advised him there was video of him carrying the shopping bag, the man later identified as Corey M. Rabquer, 26, North Middle Street, Columbiana reportedly remembered the bag and said it contained shoes. Officers reported finding a glass bowl commonly used for smoking marijuana inside one of the shoes, and Rabquer was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Liverpool Township

– Both police and fire departments were dispatched to LaCroft Elementary Tuesday afternoon for a report of an 8-year-old second grade student who had run outside the school. Fire Chief Mike Bahen chased the child around the building, trying to corner him and police Chief Jayson Jackson arrived to find the child restrained by Bahen and Principal James Jarvis. He reported the child was trying to break free, and Jackson grabbed the boy and asked that the gym be cleared so he could take the child inside and distract him to calm him down. After several minutes of playing ball, the boy calmed down and was able to return to the guidance counselor’s office. Jackson reported that Jarvis advised he is not allowed to restrain a child physically, lock a child in a room nor chase after a child because he might be struck by a vehicle. Jackson reported that he advised the principal he must keep a child from being a threat to his own safety and other students.

– Minerva police reported a domestic dispute on Bayard Road, Minerva, at 9:19 a.m. Friday. Deputies spoke to Sarah Patton, who said she and her boyfriend, Dana Ota, argued.

– Mitch Medved, Farrington Avenue, Salem, reported at 6:31 a.m. Friday sometime overnight someone entered his home through an unlocked window in the kitchen and ransacked his office. All the car keys in the office were taken and it appeared someone opened the vehicles. About $150 was taken from his wife’s vehicle, along with her purse.

– Tari Altenburg, state Route 45, Salem, reported at 11:55 p.m. Sunday someone they knew, Tommy Hart, was in their trailer. Hart reportedly made threats to kill himself and anyone who tried to stop him with a knife. Hart reportedly cut himself in the chest with a fork badley. Deputies found Hart hiding under a porch. He was taken to Salem Community Hospital.

– The Highway Patrol reported horses loose at 1:08 a.m. Saturday in the area of McIntosh Road between Y and O and Township Line Roads. Deputies searched the area, but did not find the horses.

– Mike Esterly, state Route 517, Lisbon, reported at 6:04 a.m. Friday his dog began barking at 4 a.m. and then he found someone entered his home and stole his wallet with $85 and his checkbook. There were several credit cards in the wallet and some were used at Walmart in Salem and Newton’s Gas Station in Columbiana.

Highway Patrol

– A tractor-trailer driven by Michael C. Derosa, 39, Warren, was southbound on U.S. Route 30 at 4:40 a.m. Friday when it went off the left side of the highway, striking a concrete median barrier. The Glenmoor and West Point fire departments were on the scene for traffic control, and both St. Clair and Liverpool township police departments were also on the scene. Derosa was cited for failure to control.

– While northbound on state Route 170 May 9, a vehicle driven by Walter J. Walsh, 44, West Main Street, East Palestine, traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch. Walsh was cited for failure to control.

East Liverpool

– Tyler D. Bennett, 17, Price Street, was reportedly waved out of Gina’s Drive-Through onto Pennsylvania Avenue by another driver Thursday, and as he pulled out, his vehicle struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Margaret M. Korff-Minder, 57, Leesville. No injuries or charges were reported.

– Jayma S. Wilson, Pennsylvania Avenue, reported a brick thrown through the window of her vehicle, from which a gold chain, change and a checkbook belonging to Renzo Diaz were taken. Wilson’s unlocked van was also entered, and her makeup case was found up the street from her residence.

-Kevin Palmer, no address listed, reported finding eggs had been thrown at a home on McKinnon Avenue owned by Dave and Margaret Myers, where he is doing some work.

– Officers spoke with officials at North Elementary School, who reported a parent barged in after school hours, wanting to see a room where her child was allegedly being placed into a box throughout the day. The box was a single desk with a “blinder” on the side for children who are being disrupted. Officers advised the mother there is a procedure for launching complaints and barging in past the staff is not it, according to reports. She was also warned she could be charged with trespassing.

– A woman who had attempted to obtain Percocet with a fake prescription was apprehended at Rite Aid and taken to the police station for questioning about where the prescription originated. Information will be sent to the grand jury for charges.

St. Clair Township

– A vehicle driven by William C. Billingsley, 55, Rainbow Lane, was struck from the rear when he stopped in traffic on state Route 170, with the other vehicle leaving before officers arrived. The license plate number of the other vehicle was provided, and officers spoke with the driver, Carrie Duncan, 26, Vernia Street, who said she was too close and did strike Billingsley’s vehicle, but he told her there was no problem, according to reports. She was cited for assured clear distance.

– Edward W. Nichols, 38, 5th Avenue, was stopped in traffic on St. Clair Avenue when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Jerica S. Mattern, 31, Vernia Street. No charges were reported, but a passenger in Nichols’ vehicle, Angel L. Hankinson, 31, Aliquppa, Pa., was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Tri-County Ambulance.

Salem

– An officer responded to the area of Butcher Road and South Cunningham Road at 8:32 a.m. Saturday for a report of an unknown man dressed in camouflage and carrying a rifle walking northbound on Cunningham Road. The officer was unable to find the person.

– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the parking lot of a 2800 block East State Street business at 1:44 p.m. Saturday in which Carl Millison, Leetonia, backed out of a parking space and struck a motorized cart driven by Donna Hawkins, Columbiana. First Responders and an ambulance responded, but Hawkins declined treatment.

– An officer responded to a 300 block Cunningham Road home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday where the resident reported someone had driven by four times shooting a starter pistol at him. The officer was unable to find the person.

– A patrolling officer observed fireworks being shot off in the 300 block of West Fourth Street at 9:22 p.m. Saturday. The officer spoke with someone at a business in the area and warned them against the actions.

– Morgan P. Cline, 17, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of East State Street at 4:47 a.m. Sunday in which she was westbound and allegedly fell asleep, traveling left of center off the roadway, striking a curb then a utility pole. No injuries were reported. A passenger, Shayne M. Welling, 20, 1268 Cedar Ridge Apt. A, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear.

County Sheriff

– Jeffrey Keeder, Haiti Road, Salineville, reported his brother threatened to take tools belonging to his father from his vehicle. The deputy spoke to Keeder’s brother, who agreed not to remove the items.

– Samantha McGuire, Whinnery Road, Salem, reported her grandfather is in the hospital and her uncle is at his house, watching it and took her grandfather’s car for several days when he is not supposed to drive it. When McGuire told him to return it, her uncle became verbally violent, she reported. The vehicle was returned, but McGuire said her uncle threatened her with violence if she came onto her grandfather’s porch. She was advised her grandfather needs to file a complaint if her uncle is in his house and using his vehicle without his permission.

– Scott Gane of South Eastern Railroad, reported Saturday shelves were knocked down at the property in Negley.

– Michael Craig, Walnut Street, Rogers, reported he left for work May 13 and returned home May 15 to find his live-in girlfriend and his truck gone. His girlfriend reportedly told him she took the vehicle and got rid of it. He did not want to file charges, just wanted a report on file since he did not give her permission to drive the vehicle and she has no driver’s license. The deputy advised Craig to cancel the license plates on the vehicle.

– Deputies responded Saturday to an area on state Route 45 in Lisbon for a report of a gun being discharged. All the neighbors reported hearing it, but the deputy heard no noises and advised them to call if they hear it again and believe it needs investigated.

Salem

– Christie L. Nuzzo, 39, Salem, was cited for failure to yield from private property following a two-vehicle crash on North Lincoln Street at 7:39 a.m. Friday in which she pulled off of FE Cope Drive and collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Rebecca S. Heffinger, 57, Salem. No injuries were reported.

– Robert E. Fickel III, 36, 5374 McCann Road, Salem, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, speed and following too close after a traffic stop on West State Street near Jennings Avenue at 8:57 p.m. Friday.

– An officer responded an East State Street business at 11 p.m. Friday where an employee reported a man had been entering the store and harassing her.

– A patrolling officer observed a vehicle at the Waterworth Memorial Park off Sunset Boulevard at 12:40 a.m. Saturday. The man and woman occupants said they were just talking and were told to move along.

– Police responded to the 200 block of South Union Avenue at 1:18 a.m. Saturday for a report of loud persons and found a man who confirmed he had been in an argument with his girlfriend. Officers spoke to the girlfriend who also confirmed the argument and showed signs of physical violence. The couple, who were intoxicated, was warned to keep the noise down. During the investigation officers found drug contraband in a vehicle parked in the driveway. Charges are pending.

– An officer responded to the 300 block of West Fourth Street at 2:51 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle with someone inside. The officer was unable to find anyone inside the vehicle or the surrounding area.

– Nathan D. Winn, 24, 818 S. Lundy Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct with intoxication after entering the police station at 5:25 a.m. Saturday and asking to be taken to jail, then standing in the street stopping traffic. According to the police report, he asked officers how to get arrested, but they declined to help him. He then said that he would enter the street and cause a scene, then proceeded to do so.

County Sheriff

-Jeffrey Keeder, Haiti Road, Salineville, reported a domestic dispute at 2:16 p.m. Thursday. Deputies spoke to Jodi Keeder, who said Junior Keeder grabbed her by her arms, hit her in the face and pushed her to the ground. She was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Life Team Ambulance. Deputies went to Wellsville to get Junior Keeder and charged him with assault.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 3 a.m. Thursday he just left Circle K and the clerk was acting strange by throwing things and swearing. Police checked on the clerk and there were no problems.

– A man reported at 7:52 a.m. Thursday there was a large pot hole at the railroad crossing on South Main Street. Police notified the street crew.

– Amanda Humphrey, 35, Salem, was slowed in traffic near the state routes 7 and 14 intersection at 1 p.m. Thursday when she was struck from behind by Taylor Adams, 19, New Waterford. Adams was cited for assured clear distance.

– Rollin Gosney reported at 2:17 p.m. Thursday that on May 3 his vehicle was parked behind a business on South Main Street and someone stole some tools out of the bed of his truck and a custom ink pen from the cab of the truck.

– An SRE Doors employee reported at 2:57 p.m. Thursday Al Brooks of SRD & Associates of Youngstown wrote a bad check for $1,300.

– A man reported at 5:27 p.m. Thursday cars were parking on the walking trail at Firestone Park during a softball game there. Police checked and found the cars parked in a yard and not on the trail.

– Melina L. Bennett, 42, Mentor, was backing out of a parking space in the McDonald’s lot at 6 p.m. Thursday and was struck by Andrew G. Langton, 77, Aliquippa, Pa., who was also backing from a parking space. No citations were issued.

– A woman reported at 8:53 p.m. Thursday she could hear gun shots in the area of Southern Terrace but wasn’t sure if the sound was within city limits. Police checked the area but did not see anyone shooting.

– A man reported at 8:59 p.m. Thursday there was some sort of fire in the area of state Route 344. Police checked and found a land owner burning trash along with tree limbs and other things.

East Palestine

– Police were called to Christopher Courts at 7 a.m. Thursday for a report of a boy refusing to go to school. Police found the boy was getting dressed and waiting for a ride to school.

Lisbon

– A Christina House resident reported at 2:40 p.m. she has a protection order against a man and he had contacted her mother that day and told her mother that she could have her belongings back if she dropped the charges against him. Police told the woman they would attempt to contact the man to advise him that the protection order bars him from contacting her family members as well.

– The owner of East Pearl restaurant on North Market Street reported at 11 a.m. Thursday they had been broken into and $300 worth of rolled coins was taken and a mirror was knocked off a shelf.

– Christa M. Viets, 45, Wayne Bridge Road, was backing from a driveway along East Chestnut Street at 2:16 p.m. Thursday and struck a parked vehicle owned by William R. Stone, Sherman Street.

– Alexa Ann Raymond, 24, East High Street, and Cheylynn D. Fisher, 24, Huntington, W.Va., were southbound on Dickey Drive at 4:35 p.m. Thursday and Fisher failed to stop and struck Raymond from behind. Fisher was cited for assured clear distance.

Salem

– Police were called at 12:13 p.m. Friday to Walmart on East State Street where an ambulance was needed. A woman in the bathroom said all was fine. An ambulance was coming from Damascus and fire department first responders had already arrived.

– Tyler Robertson, 19, of Poland, was cited for a traffic light violation after a three-vehicle accident at East State Street and Union Avenue at 9:33 a.m. Friday left another driver and child injured. Robertson was westbound on State when he failed to stop for the red light at the intersection and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Sarah Drye, 27, of Kelly Park Road, Columbiana. Both vehicles then collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Rita Fuscoe, 47, of Youngstown, who was sitting stationary at the red light. Drye and her passenger, 2-year-old Leila Worden, also of Kelly Park Road, Columbiana, were both taken to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG Ambulance with injuries. Drye was cited for driving without a license.

– Jona French, 23, of Salineville, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence after a traffic stop at 2:38 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of West Pershing Street.

– An officer on patrol near Speedway gas station, West State Street, saw a man acting suspicious at 2:24 a.m. Friday. When he saw the patrol car, he fled toward the rear of the business. The officer was familiar with him and he said he was just going home for money for cigarettes.

– An officer at 1:07 a.m. Friday saw two females walking on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of East State Street who appeared to be under 18. The officer made contact and found one was 18 and one was 16. The 18-year-old was sent on her way and the 16-year-old from Salem was charged with a curfew violation and released to a family member.

– An audible alarm was reported at 11:04 p.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of East State Street. The exterior of the business was found secure.

– Suspicious activity/motor vehicle accident was reported at 10:40 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Aetna Street, but no one answered at the residence in question and no damage was found to the two vehicles reportedly involved.

– A suspicious male was reported near a closed business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 10:37 p.m. Thursday. After police made contact, he said he would leave.

– A missing adult was reported at 9:27 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard. A woman said her daughter had left several hours before to get food but had not returned. An hour later, the woman called to say her daughter returned. Police went to the residence to check on her and she said she was fine and just wanted some alone time.

– An anonymous person reported suspicious activity behind the Stadium car lot at 9:23 p.m. Thursday. Two people were seen throwing black trash bags into the dumpster after the business closed.

– A reckless vehicle was reported at 8:42 p.m. Thursday coming into the city on East State Street, but was not found.

– A woman in the 1100 block of Benton Road reported harassment at 7:22 p.m. Thursday, saying a male known to her was waiting for her to get off work and she did not want to see him. Police spoke to the male and he left.

– Alexis Liberty, 21, of 840 W. Pershing St., was taken into custody at 6:34 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for obstruction of official business.

– A caller at 6:29 p.m. Thursday reported a young juvenile riding a motorized scooter in the road at Lexington and Continental. An officer told him he can’t ride in the road.

– Police were called at 6:08 p.m. Thursday to Mullins Park for several unruly juveniles on the playground. The juveniles were allegedly spitting and humping the equipment while young children were trying to play. Officers spoke to several juveniles who said they didn’t do anything wrong. They were told not to misuse the equipment and be mindful of younger kids playing. The mother of the juveniles arrived and said they had never caused problems at the park before but would be leaving.

– A man in the 700 block of East Fourth Street reported at 5:28 p.m. Thursday that a man had been sending him harassing messages over an online social networking site.

– Juveniles were reported riding their bicycles in the road and blocking traffic on the Cranmer bridge at 5:17 p.m. Thursday, but police didn’t locate a problem.

– A woman in the 400 block of Sharp Street reported at 4:42 p.m. Thursday that her neighbor’s children were climbing her trees and breaking the branches. When she told them to leave the property, the juveniles and their parents started calling her names. Contact was made with the neighbors and they said they would keep the kids off the property.

– An irate customer was reported at Papa John’s Pizza, 1015 E. State St., at 4:35 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the man who said he lost his keys and believed the manager’s young children took them. Officers checked the vehicle and place of business several times, but didn’t find the keys. The manager said the kids’ backpacks and vehicle they left in were checked and the keys were not there. The owner of the vehicle finally located the keys between the seats. Officers checked him for any impairment, did a test and found him impaired. When asked if he had been drinking, he said he had and had taken prescription medication. He was given a ride to his residence and told not to pick up the vehicle until the next day.

– A reckless operator was reported at 4:34 p.m. Thursday, but was not found.

– Police were called at 4:25 p.m. Thursday to the 2300 block of East State Street for several suspicious people in the parking lot. They were fixing a flat tire.

– Suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 4:13 p.m. Thursday, but it was determined there was nothing illegal going on.

– Paul Barnett, 49, of South Johnson Road, Sebring, was cited for failure to control after his westbound vehicle on West Pershing Street struck the left side of a parked work van driven by Allen Cottrill, 56, of Lisbon, who was working for AT&T at 2:56 p.m. Thursday. The report said Barnett was distracted by his cell phone.

– A woman in the 500 block of Franklin reported at 2:48 p.m. Thursday that a known male by the name of Mike came on her porch asking for cigarettes and money. He was told to leave and the woman and others said he’s been warned by the owner to stay away. They were told to advise the landlord. Officers found the man in a parking lot near the KSU City Center and he claimed he had been on Franklin to visit his mother’s friend. He was told not to go there and if he keeps returning, he’ll face arrest.

– Police responded for a missing adult in the 1000 block of W. Perry Street at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, but learned the male in question was seeking medical treatment and was safe.

– A dog was reported running at large at 11:08 a.m. Thursday behind city hall. The dog was a large beagle with a collar pulling a 6-foot chain. The dog did not want to be caught. The humane officer was called to try to catch him.

Perry Township

– Police responded at 10:33 p.m. Thursday to a report of loud neighbors sitting around a campfire at C & C Trailer Court on West State Street. They were told to keep the noise down.

– Speeding vehicles were reported in the area of West Pine Lake Road at 6:44 p.m. Thursday, but were not found.

– Police responded at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday to Brittany Lane for a report of a suspicious person knocking on doors. No one was found.

Leetonia

– Crystal Jeffers, of the 400 block of Pearl Street, reported possible damage to her front door at 7:43 a.m. Friday.

– Chief John Soldano stood by while a male retrieved personal items from a residence in the 200 block of Main Street at 12:52 p.m. Monday.

– An officer took a complaint for child neglect in the 100 block of Lisbon Street at 5:25 p.m. Monday.

– A complaint at 3:01 a.m. May 9 was investigated and resolved at the American Legion, 540 Main St.

– Alicia Cope, of the 100 block of Oak Street, filed a property damage report at 9:43 a.m. May 2.

– A possible missing child was reported and found at 9:27 p.m. May 1 in the area of Pearl Street.

– An open door was found and secured at Mitsubishi, Cherry Fork, at 12:13 a.m. April 29.

– An alarm was reported at the Shell gas station at 2:34 a.m. April 27 on Columbia Street, with the building found secure.

– Police were called to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol on Butcher Road at 9:41 p.m. April 25.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– James McCauley, Woodland Drive, Columbiana, reported at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday his father, James Wooten, took the license plates off McCauley’s truck and drove it off the property, even though he has told Wooten not to take the truck because of mechanical issues. When deputies arrived at 10 a.m. the vehicle was sitting in the driveway and McCauley gave a written statement. When Wooten returned he had become irate and they argued. McCauley claimed his father threatened to kill him. The deputy spoke to Wooten who said he did threaten to “kick his (derriere).” Wooten was charged with menacing and possession of marijuana for the baggie found in his pocket.

– Joseph Moore, Winona Road, Salem, reported at 8:11 p.m. Wednesday Josh Dilling threatened him on Facebook, stating if he turned Dilling in for something that occurred in Salem, Dilling would turn Moore in also. Deputies told him he needs to speak to Salem police about things that occur in Salem.

– Jeff Taylor, Route 45, Lisbon, reported Wednesday someone entered his home during the early morning hours while they were asleep. A basement window had been forced open.

– Robert Ritchie, state Route 170, Negley, reported at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday he heard his neighbor across the street does not have running water or sewer hooked up to his double-wide and bathes in the creek running behind the property. He wanted him charged with a crime, because he did not want his children to see anything. Deputies asked if Ritchie had ever seen the neighbor without clothes and explained it was not a crime unless others see him. Additionally, they explained there is not a statute in the county requiring running water and any sewer issues should be addressed with the health department.

Lisbon

– A vehicle driven by Rick Adkins, Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, was parked on South Market Street in front of Chef’s Table at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday when it was struck by another vehicle, causing damage to the driver side mirror.

– Police found at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday a door at the street department appeared to have been pried open. The street supervisor was notified and no items were found to be missing inside the building.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday there a car stopped on Canary Alley and two people were yelling at each other. Police checked but did not find the people.

East Palestine

– Sandra Jones, West Clark Street, reported at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday she found several drywall screws in her driveway and believed someone entered her car as her registration and insurance cars were missing.

– A North Liberty Street woman reported at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday she received message that she believed was from her cell phone service provider that her minutes were running out. Upon calling the number she believed she was speaking with a third party vendor and began to pay but then changed her mind after giving some of her information. When she checked her bank account they went ahead and took the money out of her account anyway.

– Timothy Tonkinson, age and address not listed, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 12:58 p.m. Wednesday.

Perry Township

– Police assisted county Children Services at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday for a follow-up investigation regarding an alleged sexual assault.

Salem

– Circle K East, 1125 E. State St., received two counterfeit $20 bills Wednesday night. Speedway, 175 W. State St., reported a clerk took a bogus $10 bill Wednesday during the busy lunch time.

– Four kids were charged with delinquency by criminal trespassing after an officer caught them on the roof of a building in the 500 block of East Pershing Wednesday evening. All four were cooperative and respectful while in police custody and acknowledged their poor judgment in going on the roof.

– Police responded to the high school parking lot at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday for a report of threats being made to an employee in the parking lot, then the person drove off. Police will speak to the suspect.

– People going door to door Wednesday promoting sales for Text Book Painting were told a solicitor’s permit was required.

– A man reported Thursday he had been residing at a home on East Euclid and was threatened. A woman also resided there and last week they got into an argument and she called her boyfriend home from work and he threatened to remove him if he had to by force and kick his butt. He also lived there. Now the man is concerned for his safety because of the threats and wanted a report on file in case something happens.

East Liverpool

– A missing person report was filed Thursday by Peggy Craig regarding her juvenile daughter Alyssa R. Coleman, who she said had been with her boyfriend and had not returned home after being out all night.

– Officers responded to Wilbert Avenue for a fight between two women not identified in reports. They were advised to contact the law director if they choose to file charges.

– The vehicle of an 18-year-old student was searched at East Liverpool High School, with marijuana and paraphernalia reportedly found. Charges are pending against the 18-year-old and his 17-year-old friend.

– Several people were stopped on Dresden Avenue after officers reported seeing a hand-to-hand drug deal take place. One of the people became upset, saying officers were harassing him, although they reported this same person has had his residence searched on several occasions by the drug task force. No arrests were reported.

– Nancy L. Fridley, Lincoln Avenue, reported her driver’s side car door pried.

– Jay Kiger, an administrator at the high school, asked for assistance in doing a welfare check on a student, with no other details reported.

– Nicole Crosser, Crosser Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday her father was removing fence posts from her property. He reportedly had dug up about two dozen.

– Frank Baker at United High School reported two boys had been fighting in the junior high boys restroom at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday.

Highway Patrol

– Alec Vaughn McDaniel, 17, Paris, Ohio, was westbound on U.S. 30 in West Township at 10 p.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

– William H. Croskey, 34, Southridge Drive, Salem, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 8:36 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side, then the left and into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Douglas M. Bowling, 45, Douglas, Ohio, was northbound on state Route 7 and Valarie L. Young, 34, Canfield, were southbound and went left of center into Bowling. Young then went off the east side and then the west side. Young was cited for lanes of travel.

– Michael A. Kyser, 61, East Park Avenue, Columbiana, and Robert J. Bobby, 34, Apples Way, Leetonia, were westbound on Crestview Road in Fairfield Township at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Bobby struck Kyser from behind. Bobby was cited for assured clear distance.

– James M. Butler, 56, East Liverpool Road, East Liverpool, and Joshua Emral Fisher, 23, Newell, W.Va., were stopped westbound on state Route 518 in Wayne Township at 2 p.m. Friday and Fisher attempted to back into a private drive and struck Butler. Fisher was cited for improper backing.

– Freddie Rodriquez, 60, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, was northbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 9:35 p.m. May 6 and hit a deer.

– Daniel E. Goodman, 37, West Middletown Road, Salem, was northbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 9 p.m. May 6 and hit a deer.

– Nathaniel David Clunen, 21, East Fifth Street, Salem, was eastbound on Georgetown Road in Butler Township at 5:30 p.m. May 6 and went off the left side. He was cited for failure to control.

– Ashley N. Dawson, 24, Lexington Avenue, Salem, was northbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 5 p.m. May 6 and yielded to the right in response to an oncoming ambulance running lights and sirens. Richard V. Semer, 61, McGeehan Road, Lisbon, was southbound and failed to stop in time and struck Dawson from behind. Semer was cited for assured clear distance.

– Eric W. Smith, 46, Spring Valley Road, Salineville, was recently cited for failure to control from the May 2 accident in which he was westbound on Alderlick Road in Madison Township at 1:32 a.m. and went off the right side into a cement bridge wall end.

Lisbon

– Police were called to 845 N. Market St. at 5 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man trying to break down a door. Police saw James Harter run to his home nearby as they arrived and then spoke with April Frantz who was crying and very upset. Frantz told police Harter tried to rape and choke her so she ran over to her aunt’s apartment. Police found Harter and spoke with him and he admitted to drinking and said he and Frantz had been arguing but that he had not attempted or rape or choke her. Frantz then told police what started the argument was that she found a message on his phone from another girl asking him on a date and so she returned to the bedroom and lay down and that is when he came into the bedroom and then laid down and attempted to choke her, at which point she kicked him in the groin and he fell off the bed onto the floor. Police observed red marks on her neck. Harter was then charged with domestic violence and taken to the county jail.

– April Frantz reported at 9 p.m. Monday James Harter was at the home when he was not supposed to be. At 11:26 p.m. April Harter reported her husband was at the property attempting to get inside the home when he was not supposed to be there. Police searched the area but could not find him.

– Police were called to 855 N. Market St. at 5:27 p.m. Tuesday. The resident, Caitlin Frantz, said James Harter was there when he was not supposed to be. Police spoke with Harter, who said another tenant at the apartment complex told him he could stay there to sleep off the alcohol he had consumed. The tenant confirmed his story to police and Harter was told to leave the complex when he sobered up and not to return to Frantz’s apartment. The officer was then confronted by April Frantz, who said she had a restraining order against Harter, but when she provided the paperwork it was discovered it was not a restraining order but a bond. The officer told her Harter could not be removed because it was not a restraining order.

– Several Shale Tavern employees reported at 3:27 p.m. Monday their manager was fired that day and another employee overheard him say he was going to “rob the restaurant blind” when he quit. Police checked the area several times but did not see the man.

– Annie McCullough, East Pine Street, reported at 8 p.m. Monday a neighbor’s tree fell on her vehicle causing damage.

– Bill Myers reported at 7:38 p.m. Monday a tree fell on power lines at the corner of Cherry and High streets.

– A woman reported at midnight Tuesday a lady who appeared to be drunk was going door to door in shorts and a flannel shirt while everyone was in bed. Police spoke with Vicki Waite, who was highly intoxicated and told her to stay inside her apartment for the night.

Columbiana

– A high grass zoning violation notification was sent to 303 Brenda Lane at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday.

– A woman reported at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday a moving company refuses to pay for damages they caused to her property and neighboring properties on Henderson Street.

– A woman reported at 4:58 p.m. Tuesday a loose dog was running around near the park and the cemetery. Police found the dog near the cemetery.

– A woman reported at 5:14 p.m. Tuesday there were four little boys playing in the road and throwing shoes near Fairfield and Woodland avenues. Police checked but did not find the kids.

– A Hawkins Lane woman reported at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday her ex-husband damaged her screen door.

– Don Buzzard, Pittsburgh Street, reported at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday someone used his identity to apply for a payday advance.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded to a neighbor dispute on Pleasant Street at the request of the fire department, where they spoke with Ron Simmons, complaining about his neighbor burning wooden pallets. An argument broke out between Simmons and his neighbor, Joe Garcia, who told police he arrived home to find Simmons pointing at Garcia’s wife and in her face. He told Simmons to stay off his property, saying Simmons then threatened him, indicating he had a gun behind his back. They were told to stay away from each other. Simmons actually lives in Liverpool Township, while Garcia’s property is in St. Clair Township, according to reports.

– The home owner at 47995 Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road reported a concrete eagle statue taken from a post in the yard.

– An officer on patrol reported seeing a group of people sitting on a new cooler near the entrance to Walmart, begging for money. None of the group claimed to speak English, but one produced a temporary identification card from Florida and another handed over deportation documents from 2011 showing she was supposed to be in Romania, he reported. The officer said there was no one to call in Immigration so he advised the group to move along and the people entered a new Chrysler Town and Country van and left the area.

– Mary Dawson, Duke Road, reported returning home to find the door of her trailer tampered with and possible entry made, although nothing missing.

– An employee at the Comfort Inn on St. Clair Avenue reported two tenants yelling and fighting in a hallway, disturbing other guests. Officers told them to leave and arranged transportation for them back to Salineville.

– Officers were dispatched to Giant Eagle for reports of a man sitting in a vehicle with a gun. They located the man, who had a paintball gun. He apologized for causing any alarm.

Salem

– Kenneth Hull, 33, of Southeast Boulevard, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and hit skip/leaving the scene of an accident after the vehicle he was driving west on Bentley Drive struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Marra McFarland, 27, of Lexington Avenue, who had stopped for a stop sign at 1:02 p.m. Wednesday at Roosevelt Avenue. The report said Hull fled on foot and was found later at a residence on Continental Drive.

– An Ohio Department of Transportation worker brought a purse found along state Route 344 to the police station at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday. There was identification in the purse, but no cash. The owner was contacted and said the purse was reported stolen to the sheriff’s office on Sunday.

– A cab driver reported at 12:34 p.m. Wednesday that she took two fares early in the morning, learning later she received possible counterfeit money from them. She was told to have the bank confirm that they’re fake.

– An unruly child was reported on Fairview at 8:28 a.m. Wednesday, with an officer speaking to both the mother and daughter about the problem. The daughter refused to go to school because she didn’t want to walk, saying it was too far, rainy or cold. She was loud, lacked respect for the mother and the officer and expressed anger. The mother had been told by a mental health facility to have her taken to SRMC for an evaluation. The daughter had not been taking her medication and may have been under the influence of illegal drugs. An ambulance and first responders arrived. Nothing physical had occurred except for the daughter striking a wall and throwing objects, so officers found no probable cause to file charges, but urged the mother to file unruly charges in Juvenile Court.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of East Fourth Street regarding a juvenile neighbor feeding a dog and possibly making the dog ill. Police made contact with the neighbor who admitted he fed the dog and would not do so in the future.

– A woman called from GetGo, 2345 E. State St., at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday to report a female placed a fuel nozzle in her vehicle and while still pumping gas, she drove away from the pump. The hose continued to spill fuel on the ground. The fire department responded and cleaned up the area.

– Roy Larkins, 48, of Lisbon, was cited for improper backing after his westbound vehicle began backing up and struck the front of another westbound vehicle driven by Justice Philips, 22, of North Lima, on Aetna Street at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday.

– Police at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where they found a male from a previous call standing there. The woman who called police came out and said she wanted him out of here, off her property and away from her. He said he understood and left and was warned not to return. She was told to call back if he returns. Police also spoke to the manager of the apartments. The man had called earlier at 10:58 a.m. regarding what he felt was a theft, saying he ordered product from a female neighbor and her children as a fundraiser, along with his girlfriend, and he found out others received their items but he had not. He contacted the school and got his $24 back. Officers talked to the female who said she had his items but was holding them with his girlfriend’s items until she came back from Florida. Officers tried to give him the items, but he refused them and officers told her to contact the school. He was told information would be sent to the prosecutor.

– Jill Wright, Eagleton Road, Lisbon, reported at 10:04 a.m. Monday someone entered their unlocked back door and took her purse containing $2,000, her child support Master Card, income tax Visa card, two bottles of ritalin, a bottle of xanax, her checkbook and her license. Her boyfriend Mark Liber’s wallet was also taken. It contained his license, Social Security card, Visa card for his business and two other credit cards.

– Marcus Morlan, County Airport Road, East Liverpool, reported at 2:04 p.m. Monday he received text messages from Shane Bogle, who he has a protection order against. The messages reportedly came from Bogle’s phone but state they were written by Bogle’s brother. Morlan also claims he received two letters from Bogle while Bogle was incarcerated, but he did not bring the letters with him when he filed the report.

– A possible domestic dispute was reported at 6:50 p.m. Monday at a Lisbon Road address. Deputies spoke to Jason Roberts, who said his brother and his girlfriend were arguing loudly outside, but then they both left and there were no problems.

Lisbon

– Police conducted a welfare check on Tabitha Parrish at North Beaver at 1:20 p.m. Thursday. There were no problems.

– Police conducted a walk through of the Family Recovery Center at 10:12 p.m. Monday after a cleaning crew reported there were two suspicious men standing outside when they arrived. There were no problems.

Columbiana

– A South Bayshore Drive woman reported at 5:16 a.m. Monday a car was sitting in a driveway a few houses down with its four-ways on. Police checked on the vehicle and it appeared the lights had been left on from neglect.

– A man reported at 1 p.m. Monday he had possibly witnessed a domestic in Firestone Park and the man and woman left on foot in opposite directions. Police check the park and surrounding areas but did not find the couple.

– A woman reported at 6:25 p.m. Monday a puppy was chained to a pole in the alley behind the Generation Dance studio. Police checked but the puppy was gone.

– A man reported at 7:35 p.m. Monday power lines were down on Fairfield Avenue between the fork and Metz Road. Police notified the street and electric departments and contacted AT&T and Comcast regarding the downed lines.

– A woman reported at 7:46 p.m. a power line was down on North Elm Street near Herbster Road and was still sparking and the light was on. The street and electric crews were called to fix the problem.

— A man reported at 9:35 p.m. power lines were draped across other lines on North Main Street. Police taped the area off and flares were dropped until the electric crew could get there due to responding to other calls of the same nature.

– Police notified Ohio Edison of a power outage in the area of the 7&14 gas station at 11 p.m. Monday.

Salem

– An officer saw a wire laying in the street on East State Street at Highland Avenue at 1:36 a.m. Tuesday and determined it was a cable line torn from a residence and at the pole. The wire was placed on the curb lawn.

– Sonja Ellis, East Third Street, report at 9:41 p.m. Monday a man she knows took a jar of money from her home.

– Gage Mountz, 21, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, Lisbon, was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear and also charged with obstruction of official business after fleeing from police at 7:02 p.m. Monday from the 400 block of Bank Street. Police had gone there to serve the warrant. After a chase, he was taken into custody at taser point at the rear of a residence on Franklin.

– Allycia Cross, 24, of 226 Vine St., was charged with theft after an alleged shoplifting incident on Walmart Monday.

– Bryan Hendricks, 23, of Meadowwood Drive, was cited for assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Lawrence Sommers, 72, of Ridgewood Drive, who had stopped for traffic on East State at 5:47 p.m. Monday.

Perry Township

– Police responded Tuesday to Cunningham Road to speak with a parent about options for his 18-year-old son who left the state without permission. It was explained that once he turned 18, he was able to leave without permission.

– A resident of Miller Road reported Monday his dog ran away 10 days ago. He learned an Apple Street resident had it. The dog was returned.

– Wilberto Junior Acevedo Otero, 22, last known address was Warren, was cited for no license after a traffic stop at 11:22 a.m. Monday on North Ellsworth and J. Wilson Drive. Otero walked from the scene and the vehicle was towed.

– Jeremiah Schindewolf, 27, Beloit, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop for speed at 6:48 a.m. Monday on Michigan near Van Buren.

– A woman on Buckeye Circle reported Sunday her juvenile daughter was receiving threatening and harassing texts from a 19-year-old woman and another girl.

– A reckless motorcyclist was reported in Salem Heights and when confronted by the caller, words were exchanged and the biker allegedly threatened one of them at 4:04 p.m. Sunday. There were told residents to call if the person returns.

– Jay Thomas Troyer, 21, of Hanoverton, was taken into custody on three warrants after a traffic stop at 3:07 a.m. Sunday for a possible intoxicated driver leaving Circle K South. The driver was not impaired. The passenger, Troyer, was taken into custody.

-A Salem police officer contacted the township at 2:49 a.m. Sunday to report he was flagged down by an employee of the Salem Golf Club regarding a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Township did not find the vehicle. Highland Creek was also checked.

– A Sale officer advised Friday they were made aware of a possible juvenile sex offense at a trailer park in the township.

– William Mullet, 44, of Salineville, was cited for assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle on Snyder Road driven by Sandra Shasteen, 68, of Ansley Way, who was stopped to turn onto Lincoln Avenue at 11 a.m. Friday. Shasteen was taken to SRMC.

Liverpool Township

– Mark Loy, LaCroft Avenue, reported the valve stem of a tire on his wife’s truck was damaged and his swimming pool was damaged with a piece of wood. The air in his father-in-law’s truck tires was let out. He requested extra checks of his property.

– Jamie Rohr, Lisbon Street, reported the frame on one of his windows damaged by what appeared to be a BB round. He had heard a “ting” about three weeks prior but didn’t notice the damage at that time, but after reading in the new about the arrest of a suspect using a BB gun to damage other nearby homes, he speculated the same person may have caused the damage to his home. The officer reported the suspect in question would have “a very good shot from his bedroom window” to Rohr’s residence.

– Earl Rose reported damage to the siding at the back of the LaCroft Nazarene Church, 7th Avenue, and the officer also noticed a portable basketball hoop knocked over in what appeared to be an attempt to steal it from the church property. Wood trim along the side porch was also damaged, according to reports.

Wellsville

– An Osbourne Road man reported May 4 he was exiting state Route 7 at Third Street when the tire from a village police cruiser threw up a rock that broke his windshield. Police took both the man’s insurance information.

– Police were called to 18th Street and Clark Avenue May 1 where a child had been struck by a vehicle. Police arrived to find a small child lying curled up in the fetal position on the sidewalk. Police saw a bump on the back of her head and marks on her back. The driver, a juvenile, said he was southbound on Clark when the child ran into the street from between two vehicles There were two small dents in the right side of the upper hood area of his car where the child’s head and forearm reportedly hit. The child’s brother and two other witnesses confirmed the girl ran into the street without looking and the driver was not speeding. The child was taken to ELCH.

– At 1:52 a.m. Sunday, police responded to SRMC to assist the sheriff’s department with a combative patient. The man was restrained.

– At 4:26 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2800 block of East State where two people failed to pay for their cab ride. An officer arrived and they paid.

– At 4:38 p.m. Saturday, a broken water line was reported near the railroad crossing at Mullins Street.

– Police responded to the 900 block of Home Circle at 5:08 p.m. Saturday where drug paraphernalia was found behind the residence. The fire department was on the scene to collect it due to possible harmful chemicals.

– At 6:02 p.m. Saturday, a syringe was found in a yard in the 300 block of North Lincoln.

– Police in the 400 block of South Broadway at 6:15 p.m. Saturday saw a crowd acting in a hostile manner outside the bar and asked it to disperse, which they did. One person reported being assaulted prior to police arriving and all the people were identified and advised of the options.

County Sheriff

-Diana Beal, Yeager Drive, Wellsville, reported at 3:02 p.m. Friday her 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was stolen and provided the vehicle identification number and plate numbers to the vehicle. Her son, Russell Lightner, told deputies the car was stolen from a “dope house” a few nights before by a man from Youngstown. The plates, however, were not the correct plates since the Monte Carlo was not legally registered to her. Instead they are registered to a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird with Beal formerly owned. Lightner was taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

-Marilynn Borza, Claire Drive, Lisbon, reported at 4:15 p.m. Friday she received a letter from the IRS that contained her name as well as that of Amad Sabetha. Borza said she did not know who Sabetha was, and she called the telephone number on the letter and provided her personal information. A deputy advised her to contact the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration on Monday to check on the legitimacy of the letter.

-Bonnie Shaffer, state Route 7, East Liverpool, reported at 10:44 p.m. Friday her daughter took her laptop and is on probation through juvenile court.

Columbiana

– Amanda Rubin, West Salem Street, reported at 12:35 p.m. Thursday she was harrassed over the phone.

– Ian Wrenn, West Salem Street, reported at 2:56 p.m. Thursday that while on his way home from school, a group of students threw rocks at his car.

– Kyle S. Martin, 19, West Calla Road, Salem, was traveling on his motorcycle north on state Route 46 at 5:23 p.m. Thursday when he hit Jordan M. Stefko, 20, Canfield, who was turning left onto state Route 46 from the Sandwich Factory parking lot. Martin was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. Stefko was cited for failure to yield from a private drive.

– A woman at Firestone Park reported at 7:49 p.m. Thursday some children were fighting behind the first pavilion. Officers spoke with several children, who claimed they were just playing around.

– During a traffic stop on Springfield Road at 10:02 p.m. Thursday, Micheal M. Nagle of Norwalk was cited for driving under suspension and expired plates, and was taken into custody on a warrant from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s office.

– A North Main Street man reported at 10:17 p.m. Thursday a black car was swerving all over the road going towards the circle.

– A woman reported at 9:37 a.m. Friday there was an auction on Parkview Avenue, and people were parking and creating a problem for traffic to flow properly down the street. Officers observed the area and saw no problems.

– Richard S. Hazel of Leetonia was attempting to park in a parking spot at the Columbiana Dodge dealership on Commerce Circle around 4:33 p.m. Friday when he struck a parked car owned by Benjamin L. Grande of West Middlesex, Pa., causing minor damage to the rear bumper.

– Stephanie Patterson, Springfield Road, reported at 4:27 p.m. Friday she was harrassed by someone she knows.

East Palestine

– An East North Avenue man reported at 5:10 p.m. Thursday he discovered a soda bottle containing a syringe while he was mowing near the alley. The bottle and syringe were recovered and properly disposed.

– Cheryl Ann Johngrass, 44, East Clark Street, reported at 6:29 p.m. Thursday she was in an argument with her daughter, Alana C. Owens, 18, after Johngrass refused to allow Owens to take an energy pill. Owens then became upset and threw water at Johngrass. No charges were filed.

Salem

– Police responded to the 200 block of West Wilson Street at 1:45 a.m. Saturday where a woman advised her boyfriend shoved her and a dresser outside and broke the dresser and a fish bowl. They were observed lying in the backyard and she advised he head-butted the dresser, breaking the back side of it. Another officer spoke with him at another location and he advised that she assaulted him and red marks on his forehead were from that. It was determined there was no assault, and both agreed to stay away from each other.

– Police in the 900 block of East State Street located two juveniles playing on the sidewalk. They said they were walking to the gas station and were taken to their residence and their parents said they would handle it.

– At 12:51 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 800 block of New Garden Avenue for an indecent exposure report and located the man on Arch Street. He advised he did urinate outside his grandparent’s property and he was advised of the laws.

– At 2:03 a.m. Saturday, police patrolling in the area of Fair Avenue and East Pershing Street observed a group on the sidewalk in a verbal altercation. One male had to be detained. Two became involved in a physical altercation and both had visible injuries but did not want to pursue charges and everyone was told to go on their separate way.

– At 8:08 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 100 block of North Howard Avenue where two syringes were located and taken to the station for disposal.

– At 7:38 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a report of a possible sexual assault on a juvenile. The possible victim lives in Perry Township and information was gathered and forwarded to Perry Township police.

– At 11:37 p.m. Friday, police a resident from the 400 block of West Wilson Street was on station and wanted a report of menacing to be placed on file.

Highway Patrol

– Ryan E. Nordquist, 26, Keplinger Avenue, Alliance, struck a deer crossing state Route 14 in Unity Township at 10:47 p.m. Wednesday.

– Desarae D. LaPenta, 29, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was northbound on state Route 45 in Madison Township at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday driving a car owned by Reva Jackson, Summit Drive, East Liverpool, when there was a mechanical problem. The vehicle was damaged and disabled on the roadway.

– Bertha G. Moss, 82, Berkshire Road, East Liverpool, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday when she drove off the left side of the road, striking a traffic sign, a utility pole and a tree. Both Moss, who had incapacitating injuries, and her passenger James A. Moss, 80, of the same address, who had possible injuries, were transferred to East Liverpool City Hospital by New Waterford Ambulance.

– Gerald L. Lutes, 55, Mayfair Avenue, Minerva, was stopped northbound on Walker Road in West Township at the intersection of U.S. 30 at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. Pamela J. Bertolucci, 61, Ridge Road, Minerva, was stopped behind Lutes. To make room for a turning garbage truck, Lutes reported backed up and struck Bertolucci’s vehicle. He was cited with improper backing and no injuries were reported.

– Monica A. Pastore, 58, Franklin Avenue, Salem, was eastbound on state Route 344 in Salem Township when a westbound vehicle driven by Michael P. Mudger, 73, state Route 344, Salem, reportedly attempted a left turn into a driveway at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday. Mudger’s vehicle struck Pastore’s. Both drivers were transported to Salem Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, Pastore by Leetonia EMS and Mudger by KLG. Mudger was cited with failure to yield the right of way in a left turn.

– Luanne V. Martin, 57, Bolivar Road, Hammondsville, was cited with driving without reasonable control at 7 a.m. Wednesday after she was reportedly southbound on Bolivar Road in Yellow Creek Township and went off the right edge of the road striking a utility pole. She reportedly had minor injuries and was transported for medical assistance by a family member.

– Andrew P. Waller, 40, Girard, driving a truck owned by Penske Truck Leasing for the carrier Black Horse Carriers was eastbound on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 11:40 p.m. Monday, when he reportedly went off the right side of the road into a ditch. Waller was cited with reasonable control.

County Sheriff

– Katelynn Hilderbrand, Bowerston, reported at 1:54 a.m. Friday an assault occurred at the Big Arb’s Campground in West Township. Deputies took statements from Hilderbrand and Rosa Royal, who came with her to the sheriff’s offices. Deputies also gathered statement from Phillip Shank and Amanda Duncan at the campground. The matter is being forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

– Jeff Stewart, Foxwood, East Palestine, reported at 7:04 p.m. Thursday he and other residents in the area use a vacant lot beside his home to dispose of items, such as grass clippings. He dumped grass clippings there on Thursday and was approached by a neighbor, who asked if Stewart was going to burn the grass. Stewart told deputies he told the man it will decompose, but the man made a comment he would burn it and pointed in the direction of Stewart’s house. He asked for a report to be on file.

– Donna Newbold, Carlisle Road, Lisbon, reported at 4:57 p.m. Thursday she has been talking with a person “Dave” online for eight months, who claims he was in the service and stationed in Afghanistan. Dave wired her $51,275 between April 14 and 21. She has sent care packages to the troops, including to Dave, whom she sent a Valentine’s package. On May 1 she gave $26,000 to the same person who has picked up the previous packages, a man in his late 20s, brown “Indian looking” with an accent; short, dark “army hair” and wearing an Army T-shirt. The man drove a gray sedan with Ohio plates and claimed to be from Akron. Thursday, her bank notified her the money in her account was part of a scam and the bank seized what remained in her account.

– Jackie Shreeve, Y Camp Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:49 p.m. Thursday someone broke a rear window and a TV, rifle, jewelry and money were missing from her home.

– Regina Lovejoy, North Shore Drive, Beloit, reported at 12:34 p.m. Thursday her ex-mother-in-law has Lovejoy’s Ruger .380 locked in her safe. Lovejoy had given it to her to lock up, but now the ex-mother-in-law refuses to return it. Deputies called the woman, who said she would give back the gun when Lovejoy returnes a refrigerator and rainsuit belonging to her.

– Melissa Copely, Lake Street, Beloit, reported at 3:14 p.m. Thursday she believed her husband, Gary Copely, violated a protection order by being around her home and sending text messages to her mother. Deputies explained as long as her husband is only texting her mother and not attempting to communicate with her it is not really a violation.

– Deputies were told someone was removing items from an abandoned property at the corner of Speidel and Randall Roads at 5:31 p.m. Wednesday. No one was there when deputies arrived, but the front door was standing open.

– Justin Davis, Dakota Street, East Liverpool, reported at 11:06 a.m. Thursday he started receiving phone calls from William Merriman last Wednesday regarding Merriman’s ex-girlfriend. Davis reportedly works with the ex-girlfriend and told deputies both he and a co-worker are being harassed by Merriman. Davis also told deputies Merriman had his phone and the ex-girlfriend’s phones shut off.

Lisbon

– Police checked on a raccoon reportedly stuck in a fenced in yard at 12:59 p.m. Wednesday on East Lincoln Way. The raccoon did not appear ill and ran to hide under a porch.

– Joann Tolson, East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, reported a raccoon outside at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday. Police were unable to find it.

East Liverpool

– Joe Pilarcik, no address listed, reported an incident at Westgate Middle School Wednesday. The specifics of the incident were not reported.

– Alicia M. Brown, no address listed, reported her vehicle was parked at Giant Eagle when it was struck and dented by a door on a vehicle owned by Lester B. Bell, Youngstown.

– Amy Swoger at East Liverpool Middle School asked officers to do a welfare check on two juveniles who had not been to school for nearly two months. The officer found the children to be fine but told the parents they need to contact school officials and that charges may be filed.

St. Clair Township

– Walmart officials reported a theft, and video was obtained, with an investigation continuing.

– Nikki Burke, 41, Annesley Road, was eastbound on state Route 170 when she struck a vehicle driven by Morgan E. Hyatt, 17, South Park Circle, who reportedly turned into her path while making a left turn into a private drive. Hyatt told police another motorist waved her on.

Salem

– Officers responded to the 400 block of Legacy Lane at 3:26 p.m. Thursday where a cab driver reported two people who had paid for a round trip from Cleveland and he did not believe they had the money to pay him. The officers told the cab driver that there was no way to know if he gets paid when they return to Cleveland and that they had not committed any crime at that time of the report.

– Police responded to an East State Street restaurant at 10:16 p.m. Thursday where an employee requested multiple loitering individuals be removed from the parking lot. They all agreed to leave.

– Officers responded to an East Fifth Street home at 12:40 a.m. Friday where the resident said that six Latino men had arrived in his yard and challenged him to fight regarding the resident’s allegedly punching one of the men’s girlfriend. Officers were unable to find any of the men.

– Police responded with fire department first responders to a South Broadway Avenue business at 1:26 a.m. Friday where a woman had fallen off a picnic table, causing a laceration on the back of her head. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

– Eric Stanislaw, 46, 2969 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, was charged with physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated, obstructing official business and resisting arrest after officers responded to an East State Street business where an employee reported a drunk driver in the parking lot at 3:15 a.m. Friday.

– Megan McClaskey, 22, 174 W. Fifth St., Salem, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after police responded to her home at 4:30 a.m. Friday where she allegedly had physical altercations with her husband and another woman of the household.

– Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue for a report of a child in the roadway at 9:54 a.m. Friday. The child was found walking southbound on Continental Drive and was returned to the mother, who said that she had fallen asleep and did not know the child had gotten out.

Perry Township

– Eric M. Craig, 48, 226 Vine St., Salem, was cited for expired registration and fictitious plates following a traffic stop on Benton Road at Florida Avenue at 8:11 a.m. Thursday.

– An officer responded with an ambulance and the Columbiana County coroner responded to a 100 block Georgetown Road home for a deceased man at 4:38 p.m. Thursday. No signs of foul play were observed.

– Police responded to the 300 block of West Pine Lake Road for a neighbor dispute at 7:17 p.m. Thursday in which children were riding their bicycles on property not owned by either person. They said they were given permission by the property owner.

– Police responded to the 300 block of Plymouth Place at 10:08 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported his home had been damaged after being struck by potatoes.

Goshen Police District

– John E. Taylor, 63, 12205 Goshen Road 54, Salem, was charged with two counts of operating a vehicle intoxicated, failure to control, open container and a seatbelt violation following two separate one-vehicle crashes Tuesday morning. According to police, Taylor was northbound on Goshen Road when he struck a mailbox in the 12000 block and continued to his home at the Colonial Villa trailer park. He then drove into a field, backed out and finally struck his trailer while pulling into its driveway.

– Robert J. Toporcer, 66, Youngstown, was cited for right of ways at stop signs following a two-vehicle crash in Green Township at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday in which he was northbound on Lisbon Road and allegedly failed to yield from the stop sign at state Route 165, striking an westbound vehicle driven by Louis J. Cannatti, 54, Poland. Cannatti was treated for possible injuries on scene.

County Sheriff

– Chad Baumgarner, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported a suspicious vehicle in the area of Twin Oaks at 3:48 a.m. Thursday. Deputies checked the area, but found no vehicle matching the description.

Lisbon

– Police were called to a disturbance at the home of Kim Hayes, Pine Street Extension, at 10:39 p.m. Sunday. Police proceeded to the residence, where Hayes reported she was at work when her daughter, Emily Weddle, told her she had been thrown to the floor by a 15-year-old girl from Irondale, who was at the house visiting before the two began arguing. Hayes said after she arrived home the 15-year-old struck her in the chest. The girl admitted to throwing Weddle to the floor and striking Hayes. The matter remains under investigation.

– Christina Garver, Sherman Street, reported being assaulted at her residence by Elizabeth Hill at 10 p.m. Sunday, and that Bobby Hill let her do it. Hill said Garver was drunk and charged her, so she pushed her back to protect her infant child. She said Garver then charged Bobby Hill, who pushed her. Police said Garver was intoxicated and having difficulty remembering what she was told, so she was told to come to the police station in the morning to make a statement. Meanwhile, the Hills left.

– Police were called to the apartment house at 317 E. Washington St. at 4:10 p.m. Sunday in regard to a marijuana complaint. Danyail Hayko and Brennen Rourke admitted they had smoked marijuana earlier in the day, and the officer advised them it was illegal to do so. They were also warned about smoking marijuana because there are children in the apartment complex.

– A caller reported a man was yelling at a woman on North Market Street at 3:08 p.m. Saturday. Police encountered the woman and her three children walking down the street and she reported she had been arguing with her husband, who was picked up by a friend to go drinking.

-A caller reported there was a fight near Carter Lumber at 8:48 p.m. Sunday. The police found two boys on bicycles – Devin Bowers and Wesly Baxter – who reported they were walking past a home on East Lincoln Way when C.J. Reynolds came up to them and pushed Baxter. Reynolds admitted yelling and pushing Baxter, but just then police were called away to an armed robbery at the Family Dollar store.

– A caller reported Tuesday purchasing a Morning Journal from the newspaper box outside the courthouse and finding a bag also in the box, which he left. Police checked and determined if was a gift bag with some prizes inside, courtesy of the Morning Journal. Police left the gift bag in place for someone to win.

Columbiana

– Joe Mortallaro, address not listed, reported at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday he hit a deer on his way to work at Vari Wall in the city.

– A woman, name and address not listed, reported at 8:55 a.m. Thursday someone put sauteed onions in her gas tank and she was also receiving harassing text-messages and a letter from her ex-boyfriend.

– The county dog warden was able to catch a loose dog on North Middle Street at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday and take it back to the dog pound.

– A Col-Pump employee reported at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday a man who had recently been fired was being disruptive and cursing. The man was given his final paycheck and agreed to live the business.

– Police warned the residents of 446 and 436 Quincy Avenue for barking dogs after receiving a complaint at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday.

– Quinn Frease, East Friend Street, reported at 9:11 p.m. Wednesday someone was in their house the other day without permission.

East Palestine

– Andrew Joseph Jacobs, West Clark Street, reported at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday his neighbor’s dog was chasing him. Police learned there were other complaints about the dog and cited its owner, Timothy Tonkinson, West Clark Street, for dog at large.

– Michael L. Kleean, Bacon Avenue, reported at 5:13 p.m. Wednesday his 17-year-old step-son had not returned home from school. Kleean reported at 7 p.m. is step-son had returned home.

– Police were called to the middle school at 2:22 p.m. Wednesday for a report that a student had left prior to dismissal. The student could not be found.

– Jay Farrow, West Main Street, reported at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday he was being harassed by a group of people while at the park.

Salem

– Police were called at 12:04 p.m. Thursday for a report to document missing medication from a residence in the 2200 block of Tanglewood Drive. The caller advised the resident has been short in her prescriptions for the last four months or so and upon an internal review, she said it was believed the medication may have been taken by one or more aides who visit the resident. The company and police will investigate.

– Police were dispatched at 11:05 a.m. Thursday to the 200 block of Vine Avenue for an attempted break-in. The resident believed someone attempted to break into his house after midnight. The back door had pry marks by the door knob and one of the screens on the back side of the residence was opened. The residence was not entered and nothing was taken.

– Two dogs that looked like German shepherds were found running back and forth between Lincoln and Penn Thursday morning.

– Police were called at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of East Third Street where a juvenile broke a neighbor’s window by accident while playing outdoors. An officer spoke to both.

– A fight was reported at 6:41 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of New Garden Avenue where a man said a juvenile ran out in the road and he almost struck him. He made contact with the juvenile’s parent and there was a verbal altercation.

East Liverpool

– Ron Corbin, Orchard Grove, reported his house entered through a window. An inventory is pending, but Corbin reported a .44-caliber handgun and three televisions missing. He told police he may have interrupted the intruders since items were placed near the door.

– While southbound on Lisbon Street, a motorcycle driven by Keith M. Pinkerton, 36, Toronto, went too far right, into some gravel and he lost control, laying the motorcycle onto its side. He was taken by Tri-County Ambulance to East Liverpool City Hospital.

– John D. Sharp, 52, Sterling, was turning right from state Route 39 onto Virginia Avenue in his tractor-trailer when a vehicle driven by Michael Campbell, 34, Kimbolton, came up on his right side and was struck by Sharp’s wheels. No injuries or charges were reported.

– Dianna L. Delposen, 46, Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Market and East Sixth streets when she pulled into the path of Amber M. Gardner, 20, Wilbert Avenue, eastbound on East Sixth Street. No injuries or charges were reported.

St. Clair Township

– Kylee Smith, no age or address listed, reported Tuesday night she was driving on Sprucevale Road near Gretchen’s Lock when she was forced off the road by a red vehicle coming to a stop. A person exited the vehicle and ran up to hers, trying to open the door. When the person found it was locked, he punched it and yelled, “I told you we’d get you, daddy’s girl,” then ran back to his vehicle, which fled. Smith reported the person was wearing all black, including gloves and a skull cap and that three people were in the vehicle. She told police she has been having trouble with these unknown people for about a year.

– Officers were called Wednesday to Glenn Street for a screaming child. They found discipline had been handed out to the child, which caused the screaming, and they cleared without incident.

County Sheriff

– Ronald Phelps, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 3:59 p.m. Tuesday someone driving southbound in a black Saturn smashed his mailbox. The driver was a girl with a ponytail and the license plate began with the letter G. Deputies located the black Saturn just down the road and spoke to the driver, Nickol McQuiston, who said a wasp flew into her vehicle causing her to go into the ditch. She thought she had hit a rock in the ditch. McQuiston went to Phelps home and they made arrangements for the mailbox to be replaced.

– Lillian Mixster, store manager at Family Dollar, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday a woman came into the store and shoplifted a bottle of air freshener, coffee creamer and a package of chocolate candy and left without paying for the items totalling $15. The woman was still standing nearby and was identified as Leigh Crooms, 28, Glasgow Road. Mixster did not want to pursue charges, but asked Crooms to know she is no longer welcome at the store.

– A domestic dispute was reported on Pritchard Avenue Extension, Lisbon, at 4:49 p.m. Tuesday. Jesse Flugan told deputies he and Ivy Miller dated until recently and she came back to the house wanting to take the Xbox. They disagreed about it, but he finally agreed to let her take it. Miller, East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, told deputies the same story, except in her version Flugan smashed the Xbox in the middle of the street before giving it to her.

– Mary Bloss, Georgetown Damascus Road, Damascus, reported at 6 p.m. Tuesday someone used her credit union card to purchase $42 in merchandise from a Winn Dixie in Miami, Fla.

Lisbon

-Ronald D. Baker, 48, of Canton, was cited for failing to stop for a flashing red light at the intersection of North Market and North Park at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday.

– Police checked on the house of Dick Wilkes, North Market Street, at 11:20 a.m. Monday and found it secure.

– Carol A. Smith, East Washington Street, struck a street sign while driving on East Washington at 11:58 a.m. Monday.

– A barking dog complaint was received in the 100 block of West High at 12:44 p.m. Monday. Police spoke to the owner, who took the dog inside.

– Bobbi Crookston, West Lincoln Way, reported Monday someone she knows stole her ID, food stamp debit card, Direct Express card and Social Security card. The person confessed to doing so, but Crookston does not where the person is now.

– Police were called to the Lewis residence at 9:38 p.m. Sunday, where the Lewises complained their son Jermaine was on drugs and causing problems, and they wanted him to leave. Jermaine said he would do so if they gave him some money but he agreed to spend the night at his friend’s house. Police were given permission to search his room for drugs but did not find any. Jermaine was back at 1 a.m. Monday, banging on a bedroom window. He was charged with disorderly conduct after refusing police requests he calm down.

– The Ohio Department of Transportation reported two tractor batteries worth $500 each were stolen from vehicles parked at the temporary ODOT garage on South Jefferson.

Columbiana

– Alex Michael Holsinger, 19, Route 7, New Waterford, was exiting a driveway from 44612 state Route 14 in Columbiana at 5:17 p.m. Monday and struck Amy Jo Forinash, 39, Elm Street, New Waterford. Holsinger was cited for failure to yield.

– Kelly Fryer, 19, Columbiana-Lisbon Road, reported at 1:16 p.m. Tuesday she left her vehicle in the Taco Bell lot for about 20 minutes and when she returned someone had struck it.

– Police went to the high school at 3:17 a.m. Tuesday for a report of three suspicious vehicles in the parking lot. Police found the vehicles were unoccupied and secure and there were no problems.

– Patricia Mayer reported at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday there was a low hanging line around 109 N. Pearl St. Police checked and found it was a phone line.

– Tim Meggitt, Court Street, reported identity theft at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday.

– Melanie Scott, North Middle Street, reported at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday her daughter told her there was a black stray dog growling at her while she was on the porch. Police attempted to keep the dog away from the kids in the area and the dog warden was notified.

– A woman reported at 6 p.m. Tuesday she hit a deer on Lower Elkton Road. Police found it was outside city limits and the highway patrol was contacted.

– A woman reported at 8 p.m. Tuesday three young boys were possibly fighting near McDonald’s. She said two of the boys were picking on a boy with a red backpack and baby blue sweatshirt.

– A 10-day warning letter was sent to 208 Quincy Ave. at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday for junk motor vehicle.

– A man reported at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday there was a vehicle with expired plates at 406 Fairfield Ave. Police sent a 10-day junk vehicle letter.

East Liverpool

– Called at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday to Jennings Avenue for a report of shots fired, officers found a county employee outside a house who said the resident was shooting off a gun in the front yard. As officers approached the house, the man, identified as Pete L. Gibson, 30, stepped out the front door. He was advised by officers to walk to them with his hands visible and was patted down. He admitted having been outside shooting a black powder revolver into the hillside in front of his residence, saying he had shot five rounds. The revolver was found laying on his bed and it, along with two other firearms found hanging on the wall were taken as evidence. Gibson was charged with discharging a firearm in city limits.

– Norman C. Merritt, Ohio Avenue, reported being harassed by the current boyfriend of his 1-year-old baby’s mother. He asked police for a welfare check on the child, saying it was possible the mother and boyfriend were using alcohol and marijuana. Officers went to the home and found the child sleeping and no sign of alcohol or drugs.

– A caller reported seeing a dark-colored SUV strike a mailbox before traveling into the Heights Manor housing complex. Officers did not locate the vehicle in the parking lot there.

– Gary S. Schweiger, West Drury Lane, reported returning home to find it entered through a window. He discovered $400 and a cell phone missing. When he called the phone, someone answered but didn’t say anything, according to reports.

– A man reported he was walking to a friend’s at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday on Market Street when he noticed a van parked in the Sayre Electric lot with its passenger window broken. He told police he had been approached about an hour before by two males in a pickup truck attempting to sell him a generator for $75 but when he declined, they drove on. An employee of Sayre Electric told police the van was a company service van and it appeared a generator was missing from inside, with an inventory pending.

St. Clair Township

– Jarrod Satmare reported fraudulent activity on his debit card.

– The field superintendent for Enertech reported the theft of copper wire from the Beaver Local K-12 complex work site on Bell School Road. Police reported extra patrols will be conducted at the site.

– Katrina Rodgers, Dray Lane, reported her mailbox damaged.

– Officers responded to D&P Auto Repair for a 51-year-old man needing assistance. He was transported to the emergency room for evaluation.

– Ashley N. Jackson, no address listed, reported her vehicle entered while parked on Moore Street, with items taken.

– Kimberly S. Adams, 47, no address listed, reported being harassed by two females she knows.

– Bessie J. Mayfield of Rent-A-Center, state Route 170, reported the catalytic converter removed from the company’s delivery van while it was parked behind the store.

Salem

– City police were searching for a 17-year-old girl who ran from her mother’s car while they were stopped at the intersection of Lincoln and State at 1:01 p.m. Wednesday. Dressed in a blue jumpsuit from the Tobin detention center, the girl was being taken to the hospital by her mother.

– Police spoke Wednesday with an East Third Street woman and others involved in a possible sexual offense that occurred last summer.

– Tina Shamp, West Fourth Street, reported at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday her video game system along with a few games had been stolen. She suspects a relative.

– Jonathan Benning, East Third Street, reported Tuesday someone stole his guitar.

– A West Pershing man reported Tuesday that in 2010 someone used his identity to get cable turned on in Alliance while he was living in Salem. He reported this to his new place of residence in Salineville, notified Alliance police and was told to file a report with Salem police.

– JoAnn Barto, of Lisbon, reported that sometime in the last week someone took a Yamaha keyboard from a closet area of St. Paul Church.

– Jack Slye, of East Rochester, reported at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday his vehicle was struck while parked at Walmart.

Perry Township

– Police Tuesday night picked up two runaway girls at an apartment complex on Prospect. One had a warrant and was turned over to a sheriff’s deputy. The other was picked up by an employee of the Redemption House of Youngstown.

– Police saw a vehicle driving on a flat tire on West State, stopped it at Idaho Avenue and changed the tire at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday.

– Deann Clark, 45, of 9458 Stratton Road, was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear after a traffic stop at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday on North Ellsworth.

County Sheriff

– Deputies charged Paul W. Franklin III, 42, Glasgow Road, Lisbon, with one count of domestic violence and Shannon L. Franklin, 36, with three counts of domestic violence after sorting out a domestic incident at their home at 7:05 a.m. Monday. She is accused of hitting her 15-year-old son for not doing his homework, fighting with her husband, Paul, for not doing anything about it and hitting her sister-in-law. He is accused of hitting his wife after she yelled at him and hit him.

– Deputies assisted the highway patrol controlling traffic on Route 558 west of Kirk at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday after a truck drove off the roadway and had to be pulled from the ditch by a tow truck.

– Raymond Leonard, Kirk Road, Columbiana, reported a possible domestic dispute at 1:24 a.m. Monday. When deputies arrived, Leonard told them the man who had been there causing the argument had already left.

Highway Patrol

– Shawna L. Crews, 52, Sixteen School Road, Wellsville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 9:45 p.m. Friday and hit a deer.

– John D. Rodgers, 38, Hammondsville, was northbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 9:30 p.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Tiffany D. Herron, 30, state Route 45, Wellsville, was stopped in traffic on U.S. 30 in Elkrun Township at 11:15 a.m. Monday and waiting for a car ahead to turn left when she was struck from behind by Kyle R. Holloway, 20, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon. Holloway was cited for assured clear distance. Herron was cited for driving under suspension and taken to ELCH with possible injuries. One of her passengers, Kaylie M. Beckwith, 4, state Route 45, Wellsville, was also taken there with possible injuries.

– James H. McKinnon, 31, Croft Avenue, East Liverpool, was westbound on 18th Street Heights Road in Yellow Creek Township at 8:40 p.m. Saturday and began sliding backwards eastbound and then went off the right side into a utility pole and overturned. He was cited for failure to control.

– Jose A. Rodriguez III, 19, Depot Road, Lisbon, was northbound on Depot Road in Center Township at 8 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Eric W. Smith, 46, Spring Valley Road, Salineville, was westbound on Alderlick Road in Madison Township at 1:32 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a cement bridge abutment. He was cited for failure to control.

– Meghan H. Lehwald, 19, North Union Avenue, Salem, was eastbound on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 4:45 p.m. Friday and failed to yield at a stop sign at Route 164 and was struck by Steven E. Zimmerman, 54, East Chestnut, Lisbon, who was northbound on Route 164. Lehwald was cited for stop sign and taken to the SRMC with non-life-threatening injuries. Zimmerman and his passenger Megan Zimmer-man, 58, were also taken there with serious injuries.

– Victor Jay Tucker, 52, Dayton, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 2:20 p.m. Friday and made a U-turn and became stuck in a ditch on the left side of the road. He was cited for failure to control.

– Summer L. Webber, 19, Adkins Drive, East Liverpool, was northbound on Sponseller Road in Fairfield Township at 5:40 p.m. Thursday and failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by Andrew M. Baird, 22, Sheeley Road, Columbiana, who was eastbound on County Line Road. Webber was cited for stop sign and taken to the St. Elizabeth’s in Boardman with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Rachel N. Kelly, 23, Canfield, was northbound on North Ellsworth in Perry Township at 12:35 p.m. Thursday and then proceeded northbound on state Route 45 when Clayton E. Miller, 19, Beaver Falls, Pa., failed to stop for a red traffic light and struck Kelly on the left side and was then ejected from his vehicle when it overturned. Miller was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth’s with serious injuries.

– Jason J. Black, 32, state Route 644, Kensington, was recently cited for failure to control, failure to stop after an accident involving private property and failure to reinstate license from the Sunday accident in which he was northbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 10:24 p.m. and went left of center off the road into a utility pole, a tree stump and a recreational vehicle.

Columbiana

– Dennis Miller, North Cross Street, reported at 1:34 p.m. Monday a Waste Management truck pulled a line down across North Cross Street and kept going. Police determined it was a phone line and not an electric line.

– Lisa Dawn Kauffman, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 4:58 p.m. Monday she was having child custody issues. Police told both parties to seek an attorney as it was a civil matter.

– A woman reported at 5:58 p.m. Monday a woman in a tan SUV was asking for money in the Sparkle parking lot. Police were unable to find anyone matching the description.

Lisbon

– Jermaine N. Lewis, 29, Sherman Street, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after police were called to the home by Cora Lewis at 1:06 a.m. Monday. Mr. Lewis was reportedly banging on a bedroom window, which prompted the call. Mr. Lewis also admitted smoking marijuana and was taken into custody after he refused to calm down.

East Liverpool

– Mark J. Bailey, 53, state Route 45, Wellsville, was eastbound on state Route 39 Monday approaching a work zone when he attempted to pass another vehicle. His vehicle struck a solar arrow board owned by the city, knocking it to the ground and causing it extensive damage, according to reports. No injuries or charges were reported.

– A vehicle owned by Robert Shansky, South Park Circle, was struck by an unknown vehicle while parked in the Westgate parking lot. His vehicle was dented in the process.

St. Clair Township

– Jodie Moore, Maple Lane, reported she was away when her sister called to say Moore’s son and ex-husband had come to her home to pick up some things and took the son’s dirt bike, to which he had no right. Her ex-husband, Jason Moore, was contacted by police, who advised he could be charged for taking the bike, and he returned it.

– Sherrie Gump, no address listed, reported she forgot her purse at Sheetz, returned a few minutes later and it was gone.

Salem

– A large white truck ripped down several cable lines on Ohio Avenue Tuesday morning. Police were unable to find the truck.

– A West South Range Road man reported he ordered some items online for $5 and received a statement from his bank saying the same company he ordered from was now charging his account $94. He tried to call the company and the number was from a different business out of Denver.

– William Spanbauer, Monroe Street, reported Tuesday his 2006 green Jeep Commander was taken from outside his apartment building overnight. The vehicle had been locked.

– An officer at 8:54 p.m. Monday on South Lincoln saw two vehicles near Franklin that appeared to be having a road rage issue. The officer couldn’t see the registration of the small white vehicle, but did follow behind a green SUV on South Lincoln that was speeding. It was stopped and the driver and occupants said there had been a road rage incident resulting from the white vehicle pulling from Ohio Avenue onto Franklin and then brake checking the SUV. The SUV driver was given a verbal warning for speed. The other vehicle was not found.

– Police were dispatched to SRMC at 2:22 p.m. Monday to talk with a man about how he was being treated there. He talked to an officer in the parking lot, was calm, and told officers he was not seen for three hours and was in need of pain medication for his injured eye from the day before when his juvenile son accidentally scratched it. He had sunglasses on. The officer went inside and spoke to staff members who said the man was impatient, rude, swearing and using his phone to video. Several times they asked him to calm down and stop using the video. After he did not stop, they asked him to leave and had security escort him outside. Medical center policy is no recording devices and they indicated he would have to go somewhere else. The officer told him what they said and he wanted to dispute it. He was told the officer had enough legal reason to remove him from the property. He wasn’t happy, but left without incident, given a ride by an officer to another place.

– An unruly child was reported at 1:34 p.m. Monday at Reilly School. The student was still very vocal and loud and finally calmed down. A parent responded and picked up the boy.

– Library director Brad Stephens reported at 12:02 p.m. Monday he was working on tracking a male who has been removing DVDs without checking them out or returning them. The file will be dropped off to police.

– The manager of Sparkle Market, South Lundy Avenue, reported at 8:48 a.m. Monday a known person with mental issues was in the store without permission after previously being banned indefinitely. Management called to have him removed because in the past he has become violent and agitated and caused genuine fear and anxiety for customers and staff. He left before police arrived, so officers went to his residence on Walnut Street and an officer explained to him several times that’s he’s not permitted to go back to the store or he’ll be arrested for criminal trespassing. He was also reminded that he’s not permitted at the post office. He said he understood.

– No citation was issued after a semi truck ended up on its side in the 1200 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:50 a.m. Monday. The truck owned by Falcon Transport and driven by Carroll Henderson , 34, of Ashtabula, was northbound on Jennings when the driver said a vehicle traveling the same direction passed him, causing the semi to hug the east side of the road. The passenger side tires went off the road and into a ditch, causing the semi to roll on its side. Firefighters responded to the scene and applied oil dry to a small oil leak. The semi was not loaded with any hazardous materials.

– Joseph Robb, state Route 154, Rogers, reported at 8:34 a.m. Saturday someone stole his Sierra pickup sometime after midnight. The keys were left in the truck.

– Robert Soloman, Yates Road, Salem, reported at 11:46 a.m. Saturday copper and other scrap metal was stolen from property he owns on state Route 45 in Salem Township.

– Chuck Mill, Millrock Road, New Waterford, reported at 12:06 p.m. Saturday someone overnight vandalized his mailbox, possibly by striking it with a vehicle driving down the road.

– Rayanne Bankston and Staci Shaw, staff members at Threshold Residential facility U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, reported at 12:10 a.m. Saturday they heard weird sounds and saw strange things. The first call, they said they heard someone yelling for help and banging around in the basement. Deputies found no one there. The second time they called, they said they saw a man running after a woman across the street heading toward Robinson Tree Farm. Deputies searched the field and pine trees but found no one. The third time they claimed to hear pounding on the windows and the fourth time someone tapping on the windows, such as someone throwing pebbles. Deputies sat across the street and watched the place. The employees called a fifth time to say they heard someone in a deep voice say, “Get out.” Deputies again checked the area, but found no one.

– Jonathon Gullet, McKaig Road, Dungannon, reported at 1:10 a.m. Saturday his wife had taken pills and was becoming physical with him. Deputies found Lisa Gullet claiming she had taken nothing and it was her husband who was becoming belligerent. They both had been pushing and shoving each other, but both refused to sign charges.

– Eileen Cavalier at Bojanngles, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 5:23 a.m. Saturday there were loose dogs were running through the area. Deputies located the owner, who said he would fix the problem to ensure the dogs could no longer escape the yard.

– Rick Hickman, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 5:30 a.m. Saturday Rick Armstrong of Salem was there and extremely intoxicated. Deputies gave Armstrong a ride home so he could sleep it off.

– Shane Patrone reported at 8:39 a.m. Saturday someone broke into the Crestview Schools soccer fields concession stand. An unknown amount of candy and Gatorade was taken. An inventory will be done. Deputies found a window broken where it appeared access was made. Additionally picnic tables were found turned over. There was also damage found at the concession stand at the baseball fields, but no one got inside. The matter is under investigation.

– Nick Patrone, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, reported at 11:02 a.m. Sunday he found a 3-year-old child walking on Crestview Road heading toward Crestview Schools. He found where the child lived and took him back. Deputies spoke to the child’s grandfather, Ed Robinson, who said his grandson was in his vehicle before he left the house, but must have snuck out. When he realized the child was not in the vehicle, he returned to the house.

– Lisa Kaufman, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, asked deputies to check on Larry Arms, South Egypt Road, Salem, after receiving several text messages from him Saturday morning. Deputies could not reach anyone at the home and the doors were locked without any vehicles in the driveway. Kaufman did not have a key, but said she would try to contact someone who did.

– Kevin May, state Route 172, Hanoverton, reported at 1:19 p.m. Saturday someone attempted to steal his white 1999 Jaguar XJ8L. Denver Stonestreet, who had gone to May’s home to work on the vehicle, told May someone in a white Chevy flatbed truck was attempting to load May’s vehicle up, but when Stonestreet pulled into the driveway the person jumped into the truck and fled.

– John Sanor, Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, reported at 11:18 a.m. Saturday Lisa Bentfeld, state Route 558, Leetonia, backed into a vehicle owned by Sarah Sanor, Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, while both vehicles were in a driveway on Whinnery Road.

– Bill Prest, Freedom, Pa., reported at 12:10 p.m. Sunday he had dropped his semi trailer at Geary’s Towing. He went on Sunday to hook it back up and found the tool box open. He was missing two tarps, one blue and one red, valued at $1,150 total.

– Ada Coil, West Main Street, Salineville, reported at 4:52 a.m. Friday she and her son saw someone in a grey or silver minivan in the alley next to the house. Her son yelled at a person he saw walking around their house and the person ran, getting into the van and fleeing eastbound on Main Street.

– Deputies went to the home of Mark Morgan, Bayard Road, Minerva, to check on him at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday at the behest of an anonymous woman calling. When deputies pulled into the driveway, they saw someone close the front door. But no one would answer.

– A landlord, Lori Landsberger, reported at domestic argument on North Shore Lane, Beloit, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies spoke to Regina Lovejoy, who wanted her boyfriend, Greg Ohler removed. However, deputies explained he is on the lease and lives there so he could not be removed.

– Marie Randolph, Cadiz, reported at 6:08 a.m. Friday there was a dispute about a lot at Rogers Sale. Tim Johnson told deputies Randolph was more than a foot or so onto his lot. She moved and the problem was resolved.

Lisbon

– Gretta Burton asked for police to accompany to her home on North Green to gather belongings at 8:42 p.m. Saturday. Police stood by and there were no problems.

– Thomas Entrikin reported at 7:39 p.m. Saturday that Mary Schulis and Kevin Criss were fighting and that Criss was causing problems with him. Police went to Maple Street Extension and spoke to Schulis and Criss, who said Entrikin was the one causing problems.

– Kathy Spooner reported at 5 a.m. Saturday seeing an older model Chevrolet Suburban near her garage and yelled, and the driver left. Spooner later noticed her push mower was missing.

– A security alarm went off at 528 E. Lincoln Way at 8:37 p.m. Friday after it was accidentally set off by the resident.

– Harry McKee of Youngstown reported Thursday guns he kept in a house on North Beaver Street were missing. McKee said his wife still lives in the residence and that one of his children has his guns. McKee was advised this was a civil matter and that his wife has a right to get rid of anything in the house.

– Jasmine Lockett, West Lincoln Way, called for police at 11:51 p.m. Saturday because she was not feeling right and needed to go the hospital. Police remained until an ambulance arrived to transport Lockett..

– Ronald N. Springer, 86, Glasgow Road, Lisbon, was cited for assured cleared distance after he drove into the rear of stopped vehicle driven by Dale H. Milburn, 74, of Brewster, at the intersection of Lincoln Way and Market Street at 5:50 p.m. Friday.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at the ball fields on Metz Road at 1:17 a.m. Sunday and found there were no problems.

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at the tennis courts at Firestone Park at 1:56 a.m. Sunday and found there were no problems.

– A woman reported at 6:19 a.m. Sunday there was a man who was possibly homeless man outside the Marathon gas station. Police told the man to move along. At 9:28 a.m. a man reported a man wearing no shoes who appeared to be homeless was lying in the parking lot next to Vivian’s Antiques on South Main Street. Police told the man to move along. At 9:43 a.m. a man reported at a man who appeared to be homeless was walking down the street near Annie’s Attic swearing out loud and talking to himself. Police identified the man as John Murch, 49, of Warren, and warned him for disorderly conduct. At 10 a.m. a Marathon employee asked Murch be removed from the property as he was talking to himself and had taken up camp next to the ice box.

– Melanie Genova reported at 2 p.m. Sunday her husband who she is separated from was attempting to commit suicide. Police had the man taken to an area hospital by EMS.

– At 7:15 p.m. Sunday a Marathon employee reported the homeless man from earlier had returned. At 7:50 p.m. the man was found sitting outside R’s Pizza and refusing to move from the outdoor table.

– An East Park Avenue woman reported at 7 p.m. Sunday her ex-boyfriend had just left the home and was driving after he may have been drinking. Police could not find the vehicle.

East Palestine

– A Park Drive resident reported at 9:45 p.m. Sunday a kid assaulted another kid at the park around 4:30 p.m.

– Jeremy Cope, East Main, reported at 2:32 a.m. Sunday his vehicle was stolen. It was later found on Palestine Road.

– Pary A. Raley, West Taggart Street, reported at 5 p.m. Friday someone used her bank card to make unauthorized purchases.

– Payton E. Albano, West Clark Street, reported at 6:18 p.m. Friday her ex-roommate, Corina L. McVay, Main Street, had crawled through the window of her home and taken a dog.

– Rusty A. Hargreaves, Wood Street, reported at 8:12 p.m. Friday a neighborhood dog grabbed hold of his pant leg. Hargreaves was not injured and the dog’s owner, Walter C. Mead, East Main Street, took control of the dog.

– Betsy J. Garwood-Wilhelm, reported at 3:43 p.m. Thursday that while at the East Taggart Street car wash the day before she had taken a black and white bag out of her car and placed it on the vacuum and drove off and when she returned a short time later the bag was gone.

Salineville

– Amy J. Manning, West Main Street, contacted police at 4:14 p.m. Saturday about matters regarding her daughter, Megan McElroy. Upon arrival at her residence, Manning had left the scene, and officers found her at a different residence. According to officers, Manning presented a false social security number and date of birth when attempting a positive ID, and during the investigation Manning fled from officers and went to another residence where she was later found. Also during the search, a hypodermic needle was found. Manning was arrested and cited for falsification, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, drug abuse instruments, and a warrant for failure to appear regarding to a child support case. Identity theft charges may also be filed pending further investigation.

– Police were called to a Mill Street home at 1:20 p.m. Monday after two people fought over certain items.

– Police were called to a Spring Drive residence at 10:17 a.m. Sunday regarding someone shooting a weapon. The resident in question told police he was shooting at coyotes that were coming after his dogs. Officers found coyotes, and advised the resident to contact police if this happened again.

East Liverpool

– While doing a routine wand search Monday morning of people entering the East Liverpool Municipal Court, Bailiff Lou D’Angelo found Darin Stoll, 32, no address listed, with a set of brass knuckles. According to police, Stoll was not a defendant but was going into court as a spectator. He handed over the brass knuckles, telling officers he had just purchased them from a friend the other day and forgot he had them in his pocket. He was charged with illegal conveyance of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance into a courthouse, a fifth-degree felony, and was transported to jail.

– Officers were called to Lincoln Avenue Friday night for a man urinating on the front door of a residence, where they reported finding Richard K. Lowe, 61, Lincoln Avenue, staggering and carrying a can of alcohol. He was charged with open container in public and disorderly conduct.

Highway Patrol

– After stopping a vehicle April 26 for marked lane violations, an officer reported the vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana, but the driver, Timothy A. Williams, 21, Warren, was adamant there was nothing illegal in the vehicle. The passenger, who was not identified, also smelled strongly of marijuana, the officer reported. A search of the vehicle reportedly turned up a baggie containing green leafy material and water bottle filled with brown liquid, a baggy and a green leafy substance, with “shake” throughout the vehicle. The passenger denied possession of the items, but Williams admitted the baggie and water bottle were his, according to reports. He was given field sobriety tests and was determined not to be impaired but was cited for the marked lanes violation and possession of marijuana and released.

Goshen Police District

– Gary M. Rowles II, 32, 325 W. Oregon Ave., Sebring, was charged with theft after allegedly trying to shoplift $72 in merchandise from Dollar General in Beloit at 10:09 p.m. April 28.

– Police responded with Beloit EMS to a Boxwood Drive, Beloit, home at 4:46 p.m. April 30 where the resident had been bitten by a dog running loose. The dog’s owner, Michelle L. King, 41, 40 Boxwood Drive, said the dog got out when her son opened the door and that her husband was unable to catch it. The dog was not licensed and King was unaware if it had shots or not since she had only had the dog for approximately one month. Charges for failure to confine and failure to register the dog are pending.

– Joshua L. Mango, 19, Niles, was charged with underage possession and consumption of alcohol after a traffic stop in which he was a passenger on state Route 45 near Western Reserve Road at 4:40 p.m. Sunday. The driver was cited for speeding.

– Bud D. Wood, 51, 720 Adams Ave., Salem, was cited for failure to reinstate and no tail lights after a traffic stop on state Route 14 west of state Route 534 at 3:47 a.m. Monday.

Salem

– Police responded at 3:23 p.m. Monday to a burglary in progress in the 100 block of West Fourth, checked the house and found it secure.

– Police responded at 3:10 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of Summit Street to assist another agency in recovery of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located and Youngstown police notified.

– Officers were called at 2:42 p.m. Monday to the administrative offices in city hall on for a male visitor act-ing erratically and concerning the staff. As officers arrived, he was already leaving.

– A call was reported at 2:23 p.m. Monday when a man went into distress while in treatment at Fresnius Medical Care, 2345 E. Per-shing. He was taken to SRMC.

– Cathie Miles, manager of the Smith Center, 500 E. Fourth St., reported a theft at 1:05 p.m. Monday. The items were found and the man left before police arrived. The man won’t be permitted back.

– Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported a $10.01 drive-off at 12:44 p.m. Monday by someone in a red Ford Focus.

– A Continental Drive woman reported Monday she was in the laundry room of the apartment complex and laid her phone down. It was gone when she returned.

– Todd Kirtley, 27, of 408 S. Ellsworth Ave., was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal mischief charge after an officer at 2 a.m. Monday saw a suspicious vehicle parked along Filbert behind a residence on South Ellsworth. The vehicle registration didn’t return to the address and there was a man in the passenger seat. He told police his friends must have left him asleep in the vehicle and that they live in the residence. police made contact with the resident, Kirtley, who confirmed the other man’s story and was turned over to a sheriff’s deputy.

– A Leetonia man reported at 1:03 a.m. Monday he went on his lunch break at work in the 500 block of South Ellsworth and found his truck sprayed with silly string.

– Officers checking on a dispute in the 500 block of East Third Street at 9:06 p.m. Sunday saw an unattended fire at the rear of a residence. The resident was contacted and said the cookout was left unattended briefly due to the disturbance next door. Police had been called for a fight and discovered a dispute between a juvenile and an adult. The juvenile was told to have his parent take of the problems in the future.

– A resident in the 600 block of Cedar Street spoke to police at 7:55 p.m. Sunday regarding a property line dispute with a neighbor who she said is mowing beyond the property line and cutting the landscape shrubs. She was told it’s a civil issue.

– Maximo Pastor, 27, of 509 Columbia St., was charged with OVI, failure to control and expired license after his eastbound vehicle struck a westbound vehicle driven by Gary Ramsey, 41, of Granite Avenue, on Fourth approaching Lincoln at 7:37 p.m. Sunday. The Pastor vehicle then hit a pole. Pastor was treated at the scene by EMT Ambulance for a possible injury.

– A Washingtonville woman reported at 6 p.m. Sunday she went to pick up her children from visitation with their father on New Garden Avenue and he became belligerant and spit on her, kicking her vehicle before she left. An officer suggested she have the custody exchange on Pershing near the police department, but she didn’t want to pursue it. She just wanted it documented.

– A trucker reported at 5:12 p.m. Sunday someone damaged a ratchet strap and stole two large tarps while the rig was parked on Prospect.

– Police responded to a store in the Salem Plaza at 2:27 p.m. Sunday where an alleged shoplifter was detained. He was told he is no longer permitted in the store. The store declined to prosecute due to the items being of small value.

Perry Township

– A caller at 9:52 p.m. Sunday reported a possible sexual assault between a male and female screaming in the area of East Pine Lake and Ellsworth , possibly walking on Pine Lake Road. An officer located two kids who said they had been yelling but there was no problem.

– An officer on patrol at 9:52 p.m. Saturday saw a suspicious vehicle at a closed business on Route 9. A man was found sleeping inside the cab. He said he became fatigued and didn’t want to drive in that condition. He was checked to make sure he was safe to continue driving and sent on his way.

– Township police assisted a deputy sheriff with a welfare check on a suicidal male on South Egypt Road at 9:41 p.m. Saturday until another deputy could respond. Police had also assisted on a similar call at the same residence Saturday morning.

– Sarah Hanley, East Fifth Street, reported at 6:52 p.m. Saturday she was southbound on Lincoln slowing to turn into an apartment complex when a motorcycle passed her vehicle, striking the left side.

– Vincent Noling, 47, of Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 12:40 p.m. Friday on Route 45 and state Route 9.

Lisbon

– Heather Duncan, Morris Road, reported there was a grass fire at a neighbor’s property at 6:09 p.m. Sunday.

– Marilyn Winters, Riffle Road, Rogers, reported at 8:23 a.m. Saturday someone broke out the passenger window to her 1999 red Ford Taurus and stole the key out of a 2002 Dodge Ram truck that was left inside the vehicle because it was broke down.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at Colum-biana Tire at 12:39 a.m. Saturday.

– Jamie Banks reported at 2:48 a.m. Saturday there was a disabled vehicle in the area of West Park and Esterly Drive. Police found the vehicle was outside city limits and stood by until a tow truck arrived.

– Brock Lesko, an employee of the Links at Firestone, reported at 6:18 a.m. Saturday someone stole gas from their fuel tanks.

– A Church of Christ employee reported at 12:19 p.m. Saturday an upset man had come to the church for the second time demanding to get the pastor there to pray with him and then became upset when he was told the pastor wasn’t able to be there. The man was gone before police arrived and the employee was told to call the department if he returned.

– Police were called to St. Jude Church at 12:48 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious man and found some open doors at the church, but nothing else out of the ordinary.

– A man reported at 10:31 p.m. Saturday a man sitting on a bench on South Main Street appeared to be homeless. Police checked on the man and found he did not appear to be in any distress or doing anything illegal.

– Police checked on a vehicle parked up against the back of a building at Newton’s across from the Circle K gas station at 11:40 p.m. Saturday and found it belonged to the business owner.

Salem

– City police assisted Perry Township police at 5:32 a.m. Sunday on Prospect Street for a man to be removed. They found he had been assaulted outside the residence.

– A reckless driver was reported at 9:43 p.m. Saturday at Walmart. Police told multiple males to act in a responsible manner.

– Officers met firefighters at 7:43 p.m. Saturday at 110 W. Pershing St. for an open burning complaint. Firefighters saw the fire at the rear of the residence unattended for over an hour and said they had a similar complaint on the midnight shift. Officers attempted contact with the resident, but he was absent. His girlfriend was told to tell him this call was the last warning. Anymore calls like this will result in a citation. Firefighters had been to the same residence at 6:49 a.m. Saturday to extinguish a cookout fire still burning from the previous night.

– A Vine Avenue resident talked to police at 5:41 p.m. Saturday regarding possible drug activity in the area. The information will be forwarded to the county Drug Task Force.

– A South Lundy woman reported at 4:56 p.m. Saturday that her food assistance card was missing. She suspected a man took it and was out of town at this time.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, East State, reported a $17.50 drive-off at 2:56 p.m. Saturday by someone in a Chevy.

– Police responded at 2:44 p.m. Saturday to Orchard Bend Drive for a report of children operating an ATV on the road. Officers checked the area and saw juveniles in a field riding a go-kart. The parent was contacted and told about the complaint.

– Police responded to a report of an assault at 2:04 p.m. Saturday on South Union. Two people who reside there said the caller from Minerva had left and there had been a minor altercation. They just wanted him to stay away from the home. He told police he had shown up to get property from his ex-wife when her new boyfriend assaulted him

– Fred Liggitt, 66, of Kennedy Drive, was cited for failure to control after his southbound vehicle on South Madison struck the rear of a parked car owned by Hannah McFarland at 9:01 p.m. Saturday.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Brenda Crum, Ravine Street, East Liverpool, reported at 9:20 p.m. Thursday she was assaulted at 12418 Leslie Road in Madison Township following a disagreement with Henry Coil and Sally Jo Stanley. When they got to a house further down the road, the keys to Crum’s vehicle were lost. A cab was called and gave Coil and Crum a ride.

-Justin Landry, Millrock Road, Rogers, reported at 8:24 a.m. Saturday someone took the tarp off his climbing tower and kicked out the door. He also reported tire ruts from the vehicle in the play area.

Columbiana

– James Phillips, 56, of New Waterford was attempting to turn left from Chestnut Street onto Mulberry Alley at 9:20 a.m. Friday when he struck a stop sign on the corner.

– Michael Oesch requested at 10:06 a.m. Friday to file a credit card fraud report on behalf of his father.

– Trent L. Willis, 19, of Salem was cited for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after it was discovered during a traffic stop at 2:58 p.m. Friday at the Ace Hardware parking lot.

– The Lisbon post of the State Highway Patrol advised Columbiana police at 6:33 p.m. Friday of a blue Ford F-150 driving recklessly coming from state Route 344. Officers were unable to make contact with the vehicle.

– Daniel Gaines reported at 7:33 p.m. Friday that two children were in a vehicle parked outside Arby’s. An adult walked from across the parking lot before Gaines hung up. Officers were unable to make contact with the car.

– A woman reported at 11 p.m. Friday a man from R’s Pizza threw garbage into the woman’s garbage can. Police learned he was a new employee and didn’t know where to throw the garbage away.

– Beaver Township police advised Columbiana police at 11:11 p.m. Friday they were looking for a white two-door Pontiac Grand Prix that was involved in a road rage incident with front-end damage. Officers were unable to locate the car.

Salem Township

– Mathew L. Simpson, Carrie Lane, Leetonia, reported at 5:12 p.m. Thursday that when he came home, he noticed his shed door was open, and when he went into his house, he noticed a coin tray containing about $75 in loose change and keys to his semi truck, were missing.

– James Murphy, Crestview Road, Leetonia, reported at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday someone went into his vehicle and stole a GPS and two cans of chewing tobacco. He said he didn’t report the incident when it happened until he was informed of several other similar incidents that took place in the area.

Salem

– Police were dispatched at 12:07 p.m. Saturday to the 100 block of South Union Avenue to speak to a male about a problem he has been having. He was given some advice.

– An anonymous caller reported a needle laying in a front yard in the 800 block of East Third Street at 11:17 a.m. Saturday. An officer responded and found the syringe in the yard, bringing it to the station for proper disposal.

– Police responded at 11:15 a.m. Saturday to the 100 block of Ohio Avenue for a report that a car alarm had been going off for two hours. The owner of the vehicle wasn’t home but was reached by phone and gave officers the OK to disconnect the battery.

– An officer on patrol at 6:43 a.m. Saturday saw an unattended fire in a back yard in the 100 block of West Pershing Street. An attempt was made to contact the resident but was unsuccessful. The fire department responded and put the fire out.

– Police responded to a 911 hangup call at 4:34 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Carole Drive, learning a female accidentally hit the emergency dial button on her boyfriend’s cell phone. There was no problem.

-A barking dog complaint was filed at 1:42 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Columbia Street, but no barking was heard by police.

– An officer was flagged down at 1:34 a.m. Saturday by a woman from South Union Avenue who reported her ex-boyfriend was following her and her new boyfriend and harassing her and sending unwanted text messages. She requested an escort to her residence thinking he may be there. He wasn’t there. She wanted the incident doumented.

– Criminal mischief was reported at 10:04 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of East Third Street where a man reported someone threw an apple at his home.

– Police responded at 9:54 p.m. Friday to the 300 block of New Garden Avenue for a report of indecent exposure. No one matching the description was found.

– Joseph Lynn, 32, of East 10th Street, was cited for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle on 10th Street struck a parked car owned by Aaron Cosma, also of 10th Street, at 8:28 p.m. Friday. There were no injuries.

– A combative person was reported in the emergency room at Salem Regional Medical Center at 8:27 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, staff had taken care of the situation.

– A dog was reported at large at 8:12 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of East Third Street. The owner told police the dog got out by accident. An officer helped the owner catch the animal. The owner was warned that if the dog gets out again, there could be a citation issued.

– An audible alarm was reported at 7:51 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Pearce Circle, but the exterior of the building was secure.

– Police were called at 7:51 p.m. Friday to the emergency room at Salem Regional Medical Center for a possible domestic situation. The situation was found to be a medical problem, nothing criminal.

– An officer heard an audible alarm in the area of South Broadway Avenue and Franklin at 6:18 p.m. Friday. Businesses were checked, but the source was not located.

– A man in the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 5:21 p.m. Friday that something suspicious occurred on his property. He was told a report would be filed.

– Solicitors were reported in the 2900 block of East State Street at 4:15 p.m. Friday. The vehicle left before officers arrived.

– A suspicious person was reported at 4:12 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue. Police located a man who said he was just passing through town and trying to locate a friend. He left.

County Sheriff

– Janet Hargreaves, Union Ridge Road, Rogers, reported at 11:42 p.m. Thursday a grandchild was missing. Deputies were able to locate the boy by pinging his cell phone. He was transported by Negley EMS to Akron Children’s Hospital.

Highway Patrol

– Gina A. Polen, 71, state Route 164, Salineville, was northbound on state Route 644 in Franklin Township at 6 a.m. Thursday and hit a deer.

– Thomas Nickolaus Orr, 23, Park Court, Columbiana, was eastbound on U.S. 62 in Butler Township at midnight Tuesday and hit a deer.

– Amanda C. McCallister, 37, Randal Road, Hanoverton, was southbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 10:24 p.m. Sunday and struck a low hanging wire that was the result of utility pole damage from a northbound vehicle that went left of center off the right side into the pole, a tree stump and a recreational vehicle. The other vehicle continued on.

Columbiana

– Pat Carpenter, West Salem Street, reported at 11:30 a.m. her car was keyed at her home.

– A North Cross Street woman reported at 12:31 p.m. a neighbor was open burning.

– Nickole Hoschar of Washingtonville was westbound on state Route 14 at 4:38 p.m. Thursday and struck Jennifer Leyko of Boardman from behind. Hoschar was cited for assured clear distance.

– Police dispatched the fire department to provide traffic control for a two-vehicle crash on County line Road at 5:43 p.m. Thursday that was handled by the highway patrol.

– An R Pizza employee reported at 7:20 p.m. Thursday she noticed some bricks were knocked out of the building but wasn’t sure what happened. Police checked and found the damage was just from the building deteriorating.

– Police assisted a county sheriff’s deputy with serving a warrant on a woman at 161 N. West St. at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lisbon

– A clerk at the Days Inn reported a woman came in requesting a job application at 9:13 p.m. Wednesday and then asked for some money because she was going to an area hospital and had three children with her. This made the clerk nervous, so police responded, but the vehicle was gone by the time they arrived.

– A caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle parked at the park on Cedar street at 6:36 p.m. Thursday. Police found a male and female in the vehicle, and they were fully clothed. The couple said they were just talking.

– Police were called to a domestic dispute on North Market Street at 6:53 p.m. Thursday. The persons identified in the report were Taylor M. Merriman, 20, of West Washington Street, and Jessie L. Cote, 36, who lives there. The report stated the female accused the male of threatening her and grabbing her by the arm, resulting Mr. Cote’s arrest.

-An official from the prison-alternative facility for women, located in the old county jail on North Market Street, reported Anthony Blancato, 42, of Steubenville, showed up during visiting hours on April 11 and gave suboxone to an inmate identified as Angela Moses. The reported state Moses had been there for a week when this happened, and her drug screen was clean then but afterwards she tested positive for suboxone. Moses provided a written statement admitting Blancato gave her the drugs.

– Sunshine M. Bueley, 29, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, was cited for driving with expired license plates following a traffic stop on East Chestnut Street at 8:33 p.m. Thursday.

– Nicholas M. Clark, 21, Apollo Road, Kensington, was cited for speeding after clocked driving 37 mph in a 25 mph zone on West Lincoln Way at 5:40 a.m. Friday.

– Karen L. Seidner, 63, North Market Street, was cited for speeding after clocked driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone on West Lincoln Way at 6:29 a.m. Friday.

Salem

– Officers responded to Centennial Park at 3:57 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious person possibly suffering a medical issue. Officers spoke with the woman in question, who said the walks with a limp and was fine.

– An officer responded to the Sharp Avenue area at 5:23 p.m. Thursday for a report of someone riding a four-wheeler on the sidewalks and in the alleys. the officer told the man that he could only ride on his own private property.

– Police responded to an East Fifth Street home at 8:37 p.m. Thursday where a woman wished a man to be removed. Officers found that he had already left and advised the woman of her options to deal with the issue.

– A patrolling officer at 11:41 p.m. Thursday struck a fixed object in a West State Street parking lot, causing minor damage to the cruiser. No injury was reported and no citations issued.

– Steven F. Goodman, 33, 443 Continental Drive Apt. 48, Salem, was arrested at his home at 1:38 a.m. Friday on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for violating a protection order.

– Police responded to the area of West School and East Sixth streets at 3:52 a.m. Friday in reference to a dog running loose. Officers found the dog running around a residence and spoke to the dog’s owner, who said the dog had gotten out earlier that night and they were unable to catch it. They finally caught and took it inside.

– Mark F. Cassinger, 42, 759 E. Fourth St., Salem, was cited for failure to reinstate and speed following a traffic stop in the 900 block of West State Street at 4:58 a.m. Friday.

– An officer responded to the railroad crossing on New Garden Avenue at 8:31 a.m. Friday and found the south side gate broken. The officer stood by until Norfolk Southern responded.

– Officers responded with the fire department and an ambulance to an Allen Road business at 9:23 a.m. Friday for a report of a male employee suffering a medical issue. The man was transported to the hospital.

Perry Township

– An officer spoke with an Apple Street resident by telephone at 8:41 p.m. Tuesday in reference to possible threats being made by a man. After speaking with both people, the officer determined no threat was made and advised them to avoid contact with each other.

– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 62 and the state Route 45 bypass at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday in which Lisa Marie Hill, 35, Salem, said her foot slipped off the brake pedal, causing her vehicle to move forward and strike the rear of a vehicle driven by Jacqueline A. Grimes, 63, Alliance, while they were stopped westbound. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.

– An officer responded with an ambulance to the Blossom nursing home at 9:23 a.m. Wednesday where an employee had fainted in the kitchen area. The employee refused to be transported to the hospital.

– Police responded with an ambulance to a South Lincoln Avenue apartment at 11:31 a.m. Wednesday where a woman was suffering a medical issue. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

– Police responded with the fire department, an ambulance and the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office to a home in the 300 block of East Pidgeon Road at 10:44 a.m. Thursday where a neighbor reported finding the resident unresponsive. It was determined the resident had died during the night.

– A South Lincoln Avenue woman reported at 11:52 p.m. Thursday receiving harassing text messages and telephone calls from her ex-boyfriend who resides in Pennsylvania.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Linnie Foreman, state Route 154, Lisbon, reported at 11:59 a.m. Wednesday she has a right of way across her neighbor’s property to get in and out of her property. The neighbor, Kevin Secka, in March began to dig ruts or ditches across her driveway. Foreman went to her attorney and a letter was sent to the Secka telling him he must give her access to her property. Since she believes he received the letter, Foreman claims Secka dug two more ruts across her driveway, placed a birdfeeder along the side of the right of way with nails sticking out, has been having family members turn around at her house instead of in his own driveway and has been blocking the driveway with his vehicle. She is concerned an ambulance would be unable to get there if her husband has additional health issues.

Lisbon

– Robert J. Ohler, 36, of Amsterdam, was cited for speeding while driving on state Route 517 near Churchill Road at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday. Ohler was reportedly going 54 mph in a 35 mph zone.

– Courtney S. Waters, state Route 517, was backing up in the Circle K parking lot and Jessica K. Hendricks of Beaver Falls, Pa., was pulling in the lot when their vehicles collided at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday.

– A worker from Karvo Paving reported Tuesday that 200 gallons of off-road diesel fuel were stolen from a tanker truck parked at the concrete plant lot on East Washington Street.

-Someone reported the security alarm was going off at the Ohio Edison substation building on Pritchard Avenue at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday. Police arrived and the alarm was not going off

East Palestine

– Krislyn Conrad, East Clark Street, reported at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday her TV was stolen by Ashley Irvin, East Taggart Street. Police contacted Irvin, who said the TV was returned to Rent A Center earlier in the day.

– Daniel Feezle, West Clark Street, reported at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday unauthorized withdrawals were made on his bank card.

– Elizabeth Burson, East Taggart Street, reported at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday her neighbor Paul Simpson had just mowed the grass and covered her vehicle with stones and grass debris. Burson said she has spoken to Simpson several times about the problem but it has not stopped. Police spoke with Simpson and his family about the complaint.

– Police were called to 92 W. Clark St. at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man lying unresponsive on the porch. Police assisted EMS with loading the man into an ambulance for transport.

– Police were called to 1204 Bacon Ave. at 3 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a domestic altercation. The anonymous caller said the neighbors were involved in a loud argument that resulted in the woman being thrown out of the house. Police spoke with the tenants who said it was a verbal dispute only.

– Amy Ward, North Walnut Street, reported at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday her son’s iPad was stolen from his laptop case while he was waiting by the elementary school.

– A Brookdale Avenue woman reported at 1:49 p.m. April 16 she had a message on her phone from a man who was claiming to be contacting her due to income tax fraud regarding her personal information. Police checked the phone number and found there had been many other complaints of a similar nature.

– Michael D. Bruce, 19, no address listed, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on North Market Street at 7:30 a.m. April 17.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday a child was riding a four-wheeler up and down Sixth Street near Edgewood.

– Terrence Howell reported a theft from Star Fab at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Tuesday night to a Blakeley Street residence for a report of neighbors beating a man and interrogating him about a stolen truck. They reported Kenny Fitzwater, 23, Blakeley Street, was found with a swollen, black and blue eye and Anthony J. Whitaker, 49, coming from the basement. Whitaker told officers he was trying to get his truck back. According to reports, Fitzwater was seated in a chair and Whitaker had struck him in the face, banged his head off some cabinets, hit him with a baseball bat and made him eat dog feces while questioning him about the whereabouts of his truck. Whitaker was charged with assault and unlawful restraint.

– Officers responded Wednesday to Wilbert Avenue for a report of a woman being beaten by her boyfriend but no one answered the door. They saw someone pull back a curtain so used a passkey to enter, concerned with the woman’s safety. Inside, resident Alexis M. Burkett, 21, denied having been beaten by her boyfriend, Keith G. Dishler, 18, saying she caused a visible injury to her lip with her cell phone. Dishler had an outstanding warrant from Stark County and was picked up by law enforcement officers from that county. He was also served with a no trespass order for Columbiana-Metropolitan Housing Authority property.

– The mother of a Westgate Middle School student told police Wednesday she had to collect her daughter from school due to continual threats from several girls to beat her up. She said she had “just had it out” with the principal because one of the girls had actually jumped her daughter, knocking her down. The mother said school officials will not do anything about her complaints and she wants charges filed. A report will be sent to the juvenile prosecutor to review.

Goshen Police District

– Police responded to a property dispute at the Colonial Villa trailer park at 6:30 p.m. April 19.

– Police responded to a report of batteries being stolen from equipment in the 16000 block of Garfield Road at 8:50 a.m. April 21.

– Police investigated a sex offense report filed at West Branch High School at 10:30 a.m. April 22.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute on French Street in Damascus on April 24. The victim declined to file charges.

Salem

– A man on Third Street reported at 10:16 a.m. Thursday that he was contacted by his bank regarding two checks cashed by his son totaling $50. He said he didn’t give his son permission to take the checks. The incident is under investigation.

– Drug paraphernalia was reported found at 9:56 a.m. Thursday on Arch Street and brought to the station for proper disposal.

– Police were called at 8:49 a.m. Thursday to the 300 block of West Pershing Street where it was reported someone was throwing rocks at work trailers. Officers located a man throwing baseballs at a piece of metal he set up in his back yard. There were no signs of damage to the trailers.

– Clinton Parker Jr., 35, of 190 Woodland Ave., was cited for fictitious plates and expired registration after a traffic stop at 6:37 p.m. Thursday.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 12:07 a.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard. The victim said she and her ex-boyfriend got into a physical altercation. She didn’t want medical treatment and no physical marks were observed.

– A woman at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday reported a liquid had been dumped on her car in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. There did not appear to be any damage.

– A woman called from the 1600 block of East State Street at 4:12 p.m. Wednesday to report a patient had prescription medicines missing and the patient did not know where they were. They had been left on the kitchen table. Officers were provided with a list of people who had been at the residence, with the incident under investigation.

– A caller at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday reported a female had stolen an item from a business in the 500 block of East State Street. The female was later located and the item recovered. The person who called declined pursuing theft charges.

– Police responded to a call about a fire at 3:36 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Buckeye Avenue after several 911 hangup calls stating a house was on fire in the area. While enroute, dispatch called to report the calls were coming from a juvenile who was playing on a cell phone. Officers and the fire department checked the area and confirmed there was no fire.

– A woman on East 10th Street reported at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday that someone broke a dinner plate in the street in front of her house and she’s unable to clean it up since she’s disabled. Officers swept up the glass and disposed of it.

– A woman at 485 E. State St. reported at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday that a female came into the business and grabbed her cell phone, which was setting on a table, and walked out heading north on Lundy from State Street. Two male witnesses described her as wearing a jacket with gold wings on the back, short cut hair and only two teeth in the front. The woman called back and said the female returned the phone.

– An officer assisted the sheriff’s office at 1:44 p.m. Wednesday with the serving of a warrant on Maple Street. The person was located and taken into custody by a deputy.
