Police

County Sheriff

– Nick Barborak, state Route 517, Lisbon, reported Monday that possibly on Christmas night someone cut the screens from the windows around his home. One of the screens was removed and placed behind a tree in the yard. They had been away for about two hours.

– While on patrol deputies were on Laughlin Road near state Route 164 when a red Chevy Blazer stopped in the roadway at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday and the driver waved. Deputies spoke to Ralph Allgood and determined he had been drinking. Allgood has eight prior OVIs, two in the past 10 years. He was cited with OVI, parking on the highway and driving under suspension.

– Debbie Gedeon, Beaver Circle, New Waterford, reported Monday that on Christmas Brandon Hacker sent her son a text message. Hacker is Gedeon’s daughter’s boyfriend. He reportedly threatened to see her son after work one day because her son will not answer the phone when Hacker calls. Hacker also reportedly punched Gedeon’s daughter in the stomach last month.

– Ben Ackerman, Metz Road, New Waterford, reported at 4:04 p.m. Monday his neighbor’s child lets a dog out and it goes over and barks near his home. Deputies spoke to Brian Shaffer, who says he works late and lets his dogs out when he gets home. He did not realize his beagle was barking.

– Angela Mullet, West Fourth Street, Salem, reported at 9:24 a.m. Monday someone stole her ATV while it was at a home on Fairfield School Road being repaired.

– Doug Reed, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 2:50 p.m. Monday his neighbor was dumping motor oil in his driveway.

Highway Patrol

– Leona F. Weber, 82, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 5:10 a.m. Monday and hit a deer and a sign.

– Michael E. Reynolds, 39, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 9 p.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Daniel P. Cruise Jr., 30, Cemetery Road, Hanoverton, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 10:45 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a tree, gas meter and a house and then fled. He then continued northbound on state Route 9 went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control OVI, OVI refusal, driving under FRA suspension and failure to stop after an accident involving property of others.

– Nicholas P. Sanlo, 34, Sharp Street, Salem, was northwestbound on Woodsdale Road in Butler Township at 10:50 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch, a pole and overturned. He was cited for failure to control, OVI and seat belt and taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Columbiana

– Police found a vehicle over an embankment behind the Metz ball fields at 3:52 a.m. Monday and contacted the registered owner and found her son, Nicholas Hamilton, 17, had been driving it when it crashed. No citation was issued due to the crash being on private property.

Lisbon

– Police stood by while a Columbiana County sheriff’s deputy performed a traffic stop near the fairgrounds on Lee Street at 1 a.m. Monday.

– Gilbert Flory, 52, Morton Street, Lisbon, was stopped at a stop sign on North Beaver Street near Market Street at 3 p.m. Friday and then pulled from the stop sign and struck Patricia Darlene Tice, 33, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, who was southbound on North Market Street. Flory was cited for right of way.

Salem

– Dawna Sadler, 37, of East Third Street, was cited for failure to yield after her eastbound vehicle on East Third Street attempted to turn left into a driveway in the 1000 block and struck the front bumper of a westbound vehicle driven by Lucy Coy, 63, of Goshen Road on Monday. No injuries were reported.

– Loud music was reported at 7:31 p.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard and Tanglewood Drive. Police located the residence in question and spoke to a man who said he would be done playing the drums for the evening.

– Police were called at 7:13 p.m. Monday to a store in the 2300 block of East State Street at Eastgate Plaza for a shoplifter. The store manager said a female known to her had been in the store and took a pair of shoes without paying. Officers made contact with the person who denied any knowledge of the incident. The matter will be sent to the prosecutor for review of possible charges.

-Police responded to Wendy’s Restaurant, 2388 E. State St., at 6:44 p.m. Monday for a report of suspicious activity. Store employees said two men had been there earlier in the day acting strangely. Employees were told to call police if they return.

– Neal Joy, of the 900 block of Morris, reported at 6:23 p.m. Monday that he saw a suspicious vehicle the previous night and heard what he believed was someone attempting to gain entry into his vehicle. He reported locating a flashlight at the rear of the vehicle that did not belong to him.

– An caller at 5:24 p.m. Monday reported a transformer sparking in the area of the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue. A business owner said he lost power briefly and saw the transformer sparking when the business equipment powered back up. He temporarily closed the business and called Ohio Edison to check on the problem. No transformer was sparking after the business shut down the equipment. The fire department also responded and found nothing.

– A woman in the 1600 block of East State Street reported at 5:15 p.m. Monday that her separated husband recently took a check without her permission and cashed it for $50 without enough funds in the account to cover it. She was told since they’re still married, it’s a civil issue.

East Liverpool

– Officers received a tip about a vehicle near the Dairy Queen with occupants walking back and forth to the Vista Motel. A woman passenger was seen hiding something and when questioned, she produced suspected heroin from her pants. The woman reportedly told officers the name and phone number of the person from whom she got the suspected drugs, and charges are pending lab analysis.

Liverpool Township

– While attempting to stop a vehicle Christmas Eve for a suspected driving under suspension offense, an officer reported the driver, Matthew R. Young, 18, Lisbon Street, turned into the Convenient Food Mart driveway, turned onto LaCroft Avenue and traveled at a high rate of speed to the dead end where he was cut off by the cruiser. Young was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint, cuffed and patted down, and the officer reported finding he had a spoon and syringe. Arrangements were made for a city police officer to transport Young’s juvenile brother to a bar to be with his mother, according to reports. The officer also reported Young had $360 in cash but denied selling drugs, first saying it was from cutting wood then saying his mother gave it to him for fines. The officer seized the money, telling Young he could request it back from the court to pay his fines. He was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, driving under suspension and reckless operation.

St. Clair Township

– Shannon E. Rowe, no address listed, reported her purse stolen from the office at Dollar General.

– During a traffic stop for driving left of center on state Route 170, Justin Osbourne, no address listed, was charged with possession of marijuana. Officers reported he produced a paper containing marijuana when asked if he had anything illegal in the vehicle.

– Officers responded to the Carriage Hill Apartments for a report of a woman having cut her wrists and text photos to her boyfriend. The woman was transported by Lifeteam ambulance to the hospital.

– Responding to an alarm at Four Sons Tire & Auto, Y&O Road, officers found the back door had been pried and a spud bar lying on the ground. They were unable to reach the owner.

– Davina Stowers, state Route 267, reported her soon-to-be-ex-husband had been at her residence, making threats to her and her brother. She has an active protection order against him and told officers she wanted to file charges.

Salineville

– A red and black ATV with a boy and girl was spotted Friday afternoon traveling at a high rate of speed going west on Haiti Road toward Hazel Run Road. After an officer flashed his lights, the ATV recklessly circled in front of the cruiser and fled the scene. Around 5 p.m. the next day, an ATV accident was reported with property damage at the corner of Cleveland Road and Foundry Hill Road. The boy fled the scene, but was later located by an officer. After being turned over to his father, he was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to control, adult required because of his age and operating a four-wheeler.

– Police were called around 3:30 p.m. Saturday to a McGavern Road home regarding a theft. Officers noted a TV was taken. Officers looked outside of the home and found no signs of forced entry or unlocked doors. The case remains under investigation.

– Edwin Diequez Jr., 35, 14th Street, Wellsville, was arrested at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday during a traffic stop at Main Street and West Avenue. Diequez had active warrants out of the county for burglary and other offenses and was taken into custody.

County Sheriff

– Dottie Cutliff, state Route 9, Salem, reported her ex has sent her several photos of pills and she was concerned about him at 10:38 a.m. Sunday. He came to the door and said he was fine.

– Brian Danner, Haessly Road, Hanoverton, reported at 12:52 p.m. Saturday he was taking down his Christmas tree and heard a loud noise behind his entertainment center and found a stray round lying on the floor. It appeared to be either a .222 or .223 round, which he believed went through the frame of his picture window and struck the entertainment center. Deputies checked the area and one person said he heard shooting to the south. Deputies found no one shooting.

– Jonathan Gullett, McKaig Road, Kensington, reported a domestic dispute at 12:35 p.m. Saturday. The dispute appeared to be between Lisa Gullett and her daughter, who recently moved there with her boyfriend from Florida. Everyone in the home reported assaults which have happened in the last month between all the parties and one black eye was evident. Everyone involved in the disputes declined to prosecute.

– Kenneth Robinson reported at 11:40 a.m. Saturday he has a home on Crestview Road advertised for rent and he showed it to a woman a couple days before Christmas. However, the woman could not afford the security deposit or first month’s rent so he told her to look elsewhere. Later that same night a neighbor called and told Robinson all the lights were on at his rental home. He went over and found the woman had moved in with her three children. He told her she couldn’t stay and told her again Friday she was squatting and had to leave. The woman told him she has no where else to go. When deputies spoke to the woman, Caroline Claggett, 41, last known address Coshocton, she said she and Robinson had an agreement where she was going to work with her. She has no key to the home. The matter has been sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

– An intoxicated man was reported with a handgun and sitting in a pickup in a driveway on McClosky Road, New Waterford, at 6:58 a.m. Sunday. Gene Cope, 40, Darlington, Pa., was there at his girlfriend’s home with others drinking all night. He wanted to take his son home to his son’s mother’s house, but the others there including his girlfriend would not let him go due to his intoxication. Instead they called the child’s mother, who came and picked the boy up. Cope argued with his girlfriend and threatened he would harm his ex and her boyfriend. Cope was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

– Sandy Phillips, state Route 644, Kensington, reported at 5:33 p.m. Sunday Anthony Zimmerly stole her Ohio E Quick Pay card and used it in Hanoverton to take $20 from her account. She said he also took her mother’s bank card. She did not want to file charges.

– Ryan Steiner of the Rogers Group Home reported at 4:17 p.m. Friday two boys were playing Playstation 2 when they decided the game made a bad call. One boy got so upset he threw the Playstation 2 controller at the 32-inch flat screen TV and broke the screen.

– Jim Manley, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, reported at 5:21 p.m. Sunday he saw a truck at the property, which he owns with his estranged wife, Kim Manley. He stopped to check on the property and pick up mail at the home. Kim Manley said her husband continues to harass her by stopping by to chase away her company. She had friends over to watch football and have wings, but they left when he arrived. Jim Manley claimed Kim Manley then threatened to smash his head off the chair.

Lisbon

– Justin Duffy, owner of Stigmata Tattoo on West Lincoln Way, reported at 6:22 p.m. Dec. 19 two residents above the business burned a plastic bucket outside earlier that day and threw objects out the second floor window. Police spoke with a resident, Cam Kauffman, who denied burning anything or throwing anything out the window. She was then warned if she was caught burning anything or throwing anything out of windows she would be charged in juvenile court.

– Police assisted Center Township police at 8:14 p.m. Dec. 19 with a traffic stop on Logtown Road.

– Marsha A. Camp, Camelot Drive, Columbiana, reported her vehicle was struck by a blue van while parked near Huntington Bank on North Park Avenue at 3 p.m. Dec. 19. A witness, Colton Moore, told police he saw the van back into her parked vehicle and then leave the scene. He then provided a license plate number for the vehicle and police traced it back to Mary Diamond of North Street in Lisbon. Diamond told police she was near Huntington Bank around that time but did not recall hitting any vehicles. Police checked her vehicle and found damage consistent with that of backing into another vehicle and then obtained her insurance information.

– Police went to the St. George Church parking lot on West Chestnut Street at 8:43 a.m. Dec. 7 for a report of a suspicious person. Police spoke with Nicole Hilton who said she did not want to go home because there was a man there who would not leave. Police went to the home and spoke with Kevin Criss and told him to leave, which he agreed to do. Hilton then returned home.

– Michelle Koenig, East Lincoln Way, reported at 12:13 p.m. Thursday her medication was missing from the home.

– Police went to 621 Maple St. at 5:14 a.m. Dec. 21 for a request that a man be removed from the property. Police spoke with Mary Shaulis who said she wanted Kevin Criss removed from the home because he was getting loud and beginning to throw objects. Criss said he would leave and Shaulis then let him remove some of his belongings.

– Ashley Floor, East Washington Street, reported at 1 p.m. Dec. 20 Matthew Ayers broke a protection order by contacting her. Police contacted the sheriff’s office, who advised the protection order had not yet been served. Police then told Floor Ayers could not be arrested unless the order was served.

– Police went to the area of Sherman and Beaver streets at 8:10 p.m. Friday for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported hearing some people arguing behind one of homes on Beaver Street near Sherman Street. Police went to the home and spoke with a female resident who said she was yelling at her son’s girlfriend behind the home but the argument was only verbal. Her son’s girlfriend had already left the home and no further action was taken.

– Gretta Burton requested at 5 p.m. Friday police accompany her to 201 N. Green St. so she would give something to her husband who was intoxicated. Police stood by and there were no problems.

– Herb Chesney reported at 11:26 a.m. Friday a semi was blocking his vehicle on South Market Street. Police spoke with the driver of the truck who was delivering items to Chef’s Table and the driver said they were done delivering the items and would be moving.

– Mary Shaulis, Maple Street, reported at 10:59 a.m. Sunday Kevin Criss was back on her property and she did not want him there. Criss agreed to leave the property. Susan Pucci then called police and advised that Criss was kicked out of his home and would be staying at Nicole Hilton’s home on Chestnut Street while she was away.

– Police went to 515 Maple St. at 8:19 p.m. Saturday for a report of a fight. Resident Mark Daywalt reported he was lying in his bed when Douglas Barnes, Adler Street, East Liverpool, came in and began hitting him in the face and neck which caused him to fall down and cut his wrists. Barnes denied hitting Daywalt and told police he was angry about his shower stuff getting taken from his locker and that he confronted Daywalt about it. Barnes was taken in custody and charged with assault before being taken to the county jail.

Columbiana

– Dave Cole reported at 7:46 a.m. Sunday his tenant, Teresa Briones, South Main Street, told him she had a fight with her boyfriend, Jeffrey Landsberger, and she left the home on foot. Police found Briones and Landsberger at Camelot Apartments and they said the fight was verbal only and no assault had taken place.

– A South Elm Street woman reported at 7:54 a.m. Sunday her daughter, a Marine, was having her car delivered to her home while she was deployed and the company delivering the car has given three different delivery dates and was now telling them they have to pay $1,150 for the car. Police told the woman the matter was civil and to contact the property people.

– A man reported at 4:30 p.m. Sunday a black Monte Carlo was at the rear of the Col-Pump building on East Railroad Street and was not supposed to be there. Police checked and confirmed the car belonged to the cleaning crew.

– A Taco Bell employee reported at 5 p.m. Sunday the driver of a black Sedan came through the drive-through and appeared to be intoxicated.

– Jacqueline Lake, state Route 15, reported at 9 p.m. Sunday she was being harassed over the telephone by Kaytlynne Yhelka. Police told Yhelka to leave Lake alone or she would be charged.

East Palestine

– Rachel Boley, state Route 170, reported at 10:43 p.m. Sunday she was having problems with a neighbor’s dog.

– Police on patrol at 12:24 a.m. Dec. 22 found one of the Christmas displays in village park had been cut.

– Amy Ward, East Main Street, reported at 10:15 p.m. Sunday someone threw eggs at the Laundromat on West Taggart Street and some of the eggshells hit her truck.

Center Township

– Anthony R. Ensell 34, Steubenville Pike, was charged with driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Saltwell Road Friday.

– Timothy L. Holloway 31, West Main Street, Washingtonville, was charged with driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Adams Road Friday.

– Police responded Saturday to a noise complaint on Grant Street. Police spoke with the people who said they would turn down the music.

East Liverpool

– While attempting Christmas Day to serve a warrant for theft on Chachi Peddicord, 29, Florence Street at an Avondale Street residence, officers said Peddicord was found hiding in the bathtub. He refused to show his hands or step out of the tub, they reported, and a Taser was deployed to make him comply. He was taken into custody on the warrant and charged additionally with resisting arrest. The theft warrant stemmed from a Dec. 13 incident in which he allegedly concealed two bottles of alcoholic beverage in his pants at the Bradshaw Avenue Giant Eagle.

– Officers were called Sunday at 2:16 a.m. to the New Dimension bar to remove someone. There, they reported finding Satin E. Foster, 21, North Shadylane, intoxicated, pounding on the door and screaming. She was offered a ride by her sister and initially started to go but then began screaming at the officer, according to reports. After failing to stop when advised, she was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication.

– While eastbound on Orchard Grove, a vehicle driven by Josh Rummell, 26, Midland, Pa., reportedly went through the intersection of St. Clair Avenue without stopping due to no stop sign, striking a northbound vehicle on St. Clair driven by Kassandra Jaffe, 18, North Main Street, Columbiana. Jaffe’s vehicle crossed the center line, striking a Lifeteam ambulance that was southbound on St. Clair Avenue, driven by Marcella M. Hinzman, 24, Midland, Pa. Hinzman was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Tri-County Ambulance, as was Caleb E. Gotschall, 19, 3rd Street, Stratton, a passenger in Jaffe’s vehicle, and Kathy A. Sprouse, 63, Pugh Road, an occupant in the Lifeteam ambulance. The Lifeteam ambulance was towed by Calcutta Towing, while Jaffe’s vehicle was towed from the scene by First Class Towing. No charges were reported.

Perry Township

– A representative of Quaker Manufacturing, 187 N. Georgetown Road, reported Monday someone entered the building while the shop was shut down for Christmas and damaged multiple vending machines.

– Police on patrol at 11:35 a.m. Sunday came across a downed tree that tore down a telephone pole and phone lines in the 1500 block of Chestnut Grove Road. AT&T was notified.

– Police were called at 1 p.m. Saturday to respond to a residence in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue to conduct a welfare check on a man who had not shown up for treatment for the past week. The request was made by someone at a dialysis clinic in Salem. Police could not get anyone to answer the door and spoke to a neighbor who saw the man’s wife that morning and didn’t think anything was out of the ordinary.

– An officer investigating a complaint at 4:58 a.m. Saturday found a vehicle had struck and damaged a mailbox on state Route 9. The officer had been on Route 9 regarding a claim about a substance on the road and found a large amount of oil. ODOT was called to respond with sand.

Salem

– A man at Sparkle at about 11 a.m. Monday began yelling and knocking merchandise off the shelves. He kicked a shopping cart and pushed it into a female customer. Police found him in the parking lot and told him the store does not want him coming back ever. Employees and customers were alarmed and frightened by his actions. If he returns, he’ll be charged with criminal trespassing. The same man was acting up Sunday, too, at another location.

– A woman in the 1100 block of Salem Parkway West reported at 11:10 a.m. Monday someone has been going through the mail in the mailbox located in front of the business. Most of the mail was in a bundle in the mailbox with a rubber band around it. Loose pieces were found on the ground and another piece was found at a neighboring business.

– A man called police at 7:50 a.m. Monday to report his son and two other kids were running away. They were not foundn.

– Alpino Raneri Jr., 35, of 961 W. Wilson St., was charged with driving under suspension and also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from Tuscarawas County for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 5:30 a.m. Monday on Franklin Avenue.

– A Leetonia man flagged down an officer at 1:49 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Buckeye Avenue, saying he was trying to locate his stepdaughter who was also from Leetonia. She was supposed to be home at 11 p.m. but refused to come home. Officers attempted contact at an address given by the man in 1100 block of Buckeye Avenue, but the address didn’t exist. He was referred to Leetonia police to file a missing person report.

– Keith L. Martin, 33, of 507 Aetna St., was charged with criminal damaging after police were called at 7:08 p.m. Sunday to a fight in the 600 block of East Third Street. Officers arrived and witnessed Martin with a brick in his hand, gave commands to him to drop the brick and he did. He had been involved in a physical altercation with another male at the residence and upon leaving, he picked up a brick and broke out two windows in a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser.

– Six lawn figurines were reported damaged at 6:48 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Homewood Avenue.

– Stephen W. Bell, 28, of 945 E. Third St., was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear after police were called for warrant check at 4:37 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North Lincoln.

Police

Highway Patrol

– Brittany K. Dunlap, 26, West School Road, East Rochester, was eastbound on U.S. Route 30 in West Township at 12:04 p.m. Friday when she drove off the right side of the road and struck a mailbox and then a utility pole. She was taken to Altman Hospital by Sandy Creek EMS with minor injuries. She was cited with reasonable control.

– Geoffrey J. Forney, 20, North Madison Avenue, Salem, was northbound on Trinity Church Road in Hanover Township at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when believing he was turning into a private driveway, he drove off the left side of the roadway and into a ditch. He was not cited.

– Emily K. Williamson, 20, Unity Road, New Springfield, was southbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 2 p.m. Wednesday when she slowed for traffic and was struck from behind by someone driving a tan or light green Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep then fled. Williamson was not injured and was able to photograph the SUV with her phone as it drove away. The identity of the driver remains under investigation.

– Daryl E. Minor, 58, Willoughby, was driving on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 10:50 p.m. Friday when he struck and killed a deer.

County Sheriff

– Earl Nemeth, state Route 644, Hanoverton, reported at 7:22 p.m. Saturday he wanted something done about Frank McIntosh harassing Dorothy Cutlip. Deputies explained Cutlip refused to file charges when they were at the house involving the situation. They also explained to Nemeth how Cutlip can go about filing for a protection order if she chooses.

– Dan Lyon, state Route 7, Lisbon, reported at 4:38 p.m. Saturday people on Leslie Road were shooting onto his property again. The last time he reported it was Dec. 22, 2013 and they were warned at that time. On Saturday, deputies went and spoke to four people there, explaining again they cannot discharge their weapons in that manner. Charles W. Bowers Jr. told deputies he has been shooting there for 20 years and will continue to do so. Deputies told them if another call is received they will be charged.

Columbiana

– Police assisted Beaver Township police at the intersection of state Route 14 and Old 14 at 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

– A crash without injuries was reported 1:24 p.m. Saturday. No information was available.

– A West Park Avenue woman reported at 10:23 p.m. Saturday there was children banging on objects, being loud and possibly burning plastic in a bonfire a couple homes away.

– A black Honda Civic was reported leaving the lot of Columbiana Tire in a hurry at 10:34 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the business, which was found secure.

Salem

– A woman came to the police department at 11:59 a.m. Sunday to report phone harassment. She said she briefly dated a man from Canton and now he is constantly texting and harassing her. She is changing her number and was told if problems persist or he shows up to call police.

– Police were called at 10:51 a.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of Ridgewood Drive where a woman reported she noticed someone sprayed silly string down the side of her vehicle while it was parked in the street in front of her residence. She did not see any damage after wiping it off. Officers checked the area and found two more vehicles sprayed with silly string.

– Police were called at 9:43 a.m. Sunday to the Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway. When officers arrived, they learned the male who was upset had left. Officers located him on Walnut. He said he got upset because he was looking for a meal and they did not have any for him. He was told he could have problems if his behavior continues.

-Officers went to Continental Drive at 8:47 a.m. Sunday and met with a woman who said she saw two sweaters, winter coat, pink gift bag and a purse with some contents scattered around the yard and road. Officers found no identification in the purse which was empty with a plastic bag and miscellaneous newspapers inside it. All was placed in a plastic bag and brought to the police department until the owner can claim it. The items will be destroyed if not claimed.

– An officer was made aware at 4:01 a.m. Sunday of a baby stroller left in the 400 block of East State Street for over 24 hours. The stroller was brought to the station.

– A large fight was reported at 2:13 a.m. Sunday at 188 Railroad St. Officers arrived and were told all parties involved were leaving. Officers remained while the parking lot cleared out.

– Police responded to a fight reported at 12:28 a.m. Sunday on North Broadway, but saw no fight. After talking with some people, officers responded to South Broad-way near Columbia and spoke with two women. One said she got into an argu-ment with her ex and he left.

– A domestic was reported at 8:21 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East Third. A caller reported hearing yelling. Officers spoke with the people in question and all was OK.

– Minor damage was caused to the lawn at Centennial Park after a vehicle suffered a mechanical failure at 4:34 p.m. Saturday and ran off the road at the intersection of Pershing and Park. The vehicle driven by Timothy Boughton, 64, of South Union Avenue. No citation was issued.

– Police received a report at 2:24 p.m. Saturday of a vehicle accelerating rapidly and creating excessive exhaust noise in the 400 block of Fair Avenue. Black marks were found on the street consistent with the recent peeling of tires.

– Erin Murphy,South Lincoln, reported at 1:10 p.m. Saturday that someone rummaged through her vehicle. The only item missing was a phone, which was found 25 feet away on the ground smashed.

– Raymond Kirkpatrick, 76, Fair Avenue, was cited for failure to yield after a three-vehicle accident at 1:12 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Fourth and Ellsworth. Mark Wilhelm, 54, of Goshen Road, was northbound on Ellsworth when Kirkpatrick’s eastbound vehicle on Fourth pulled out onto Ellsworth, striking the Wilhelm vehicle in the side. The collision caused the Wilhelm vehicle to strike a vehicle driven by Brian Thomas, 50, of Redwood Drive, Beloit, who was stopped at the stop sign. No injuries were reported.

– Police were called to the 600 block of Woodland Avenue at 12:25 p.m. Saturday for a well-being check. A family member said the person in question moved to Perry Township. Information will be sent to township police to check the person’s well-being.

Salem

– Firefighters investigated a fire alarm call at 5:28 p.m. Saturday at Ventra, 800 Pennsylvania Ave., where they found no smoke showing and instead discovered a 6-inch sprinkler line had broken, sending a large amount of water flowing. Firefighters closed the valve and stopped the flow, then reset the alarm and began pumping out the water. Building maintenance arrived and was advised of the situation. Firefighters remained on the scene until 7 p.m.

County Sheriff

– Leslie Pitts, Knox School Road, Minerva, reported at 8:27 a.m. Friday someone stole several power tools from his garage, most likely sometime on the morning of Dec. 23.

– A deputy was called at 3:12 p.m. Thursday to the area of state Route 30 in East Rochester where a man reportedly attempted to push a woman out a car stopped on the roadway. The area was patrolled, but no contact was made.

– Anna Frantz of Gallagher Realty, North Main Street, Columbiana reported at 2:38 p.m. Saturday she was showing a man a house on state Route 518 in Hanoverton and realized someone forced open a window in the garage and entered the residence. Frantz said that wires and copper plumbing were cut in the basement area.

Highway Patrol

-Peter C. Johnson, 27, Delray Beach, Fla., traveled south on Depot Road in Hanover Township at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday when he struck a deer.

– Gabrielle V. Fording, 23, state Route 172, Minerva, was traveling south on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 9:30 p.m. Saturday when she struck a deer.

– An unknown motorist traveled east on Yeager Drive in Madison Township at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when the vehicle drove off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail, and then went off the left side of the road into a yard before going back on the road and hitting a parked car owned by Jeff Skidmore, Yeager Drive, East Liverpool.

– Chad Sommers, 39, Dalton, Ohio, was traveling east on state Route 558 in Salem Township at 11:36 p.m. Thursday when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a rock. Sommers was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

-Joan Rupert, South Vine Street, reported at 3:51 a.m. Friday an unknown person came up and rang her doorbell, but left before an officer arrived. It was determined it was a newspaper delivery person.

– Melvin Adkins reported at 7:50 a.m. Friday his dump truck was stolen from the 7/14 Truck Stop.

– Brigitta Cepin, 34, East Palestine, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the Oakmont Plaza at 12:27 p.m. Friday.

– Charles T. Cope, 16, Columbiana, was backing out of a parking space at Ace Hardware at 2:11 p.m. Friday when he hit a vehicle owned by United Rentals. No citations were issued.

– A Spruce Street man called at 2:34 p.m. Friday requesting a welfare check on his children, who were reported fine at the home.

– A woman reported at 9:43 p.m. Friday a suspicious vehicle at the Metz Road Baseball Field.

Salem

– Police responded to the 400 block of West School Street for a parking complaint at 11:03 a.m. Saturday. A vehicle was parked along the road where there is a curb by the right of way for the city’s sidewalk but also tire marks where vehicles were driving over to gain access to a garage. Officers asked that the vehicle owner move it in an attempt to get along.

– A couple in the 200 block of South Howard Avenue reported at 10:39 a.m. Saturday that sometime overnight someone threw eggs on the rear of their vehicle parked in the drive. The woman also reported finding a broken bank card on her front porch. The card was placed in the police department for safekeeping. An attempt was made to contact the owner, but two phone numbers tried were not working.

– Dogs were reported barking at 10:29 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East Fourth Street. No one answered the door. A warning tag was left.

– Thomas Piatt, 20, whose last known address was West Pershing Street, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and a stop sign violation after a traffic stop at 2:17 a.m. Saturday at East Third Street and Hawley Avenue.

– Loud persons were reported at 2:02 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Carole Drive, but everything was found quiet.

– An unknown noise disturbance was reported at 10:49 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Bricker Farm Lane. A homeowner said everything was fine.

– A dispute was reported at 10:01 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of Arch Street. Police spoke with both parties involved and told them they would need to get along.

– Police and the fire department responded to the 200 block of West Wilson Street at 9:42 p.m. Friday for a smoke investigation. A small fire was located behind a residence. The fire was a legal size and had people tending to it.

– Police responded to the Walmart parking lot in the 2800 block of East State Street at 4:45 p.m. Friday for a report of a stolen vehicle. A person reported their vehicle stolen, then officers and an employee looked in the lot and it was determined the vehicle had only been misplaced. Another stolen vehicle had been reported at 2:29 p.m. in the parking lot. Police and the vehicle owner looked around and couldn’t find it, then the man reported having OnStar and the vehicle was found in another lane in the lot unharmed.

– A man from the 900 block of Arch Street reported at 4:22 p.m. Friday that his juvenile daughter was at a person’s house in the city and he did not want her to be there. He was told his options. Officers responded to the house in the 900 block of Homewood where they were able to make contact with the juvenile in question.

– A barking dog was reported at 2:46 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard. A small dog was seen in the window but was not barking or howling. No one was answering the door. A warning tag was left.

– A well-being check was requested at 2:24 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Ridgewood Drive. No vehicle was there and no one answered the door.

– Timothy Groger, of state Route 172, reported at 2:16 p.m. Friday that someone took his wallet out of his locker in the locker room at the Salem Community Center, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave.

– Justin Coblentz, 21, of 1129 W. Perry St., turned himself over to police at 1:29 p.m. Friday on a warrant out of Columbiana County for receiving stolen property. He was processed and turned over to a deputy.

– A man in the 2300 block of Kennedy Drive reported at 12:15 p.m. Friday that his ex-wife stole his prescription medications in March 2014 and was under court order to give them back but had not done so. Officers tried to contact her at home and on her cell phone, but were unable to reach her. A message was left for her to call police.

– A domestic was reported at 12:34 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard. Police spoke with both parties. There were no signs of violence and both agreed to stay away from each other.

– An employee of a business in the 2300 block of East State Street at 10:43 a.m. Friday reported seeing a credit card fly out of a vehicle traveling in the area. The card was brought to the police department for safekeeping until the owner can be found.

– An anonymous person reported finding a woman’s wallet in the middle of a road at 10:34 a.m. Friday. The wallet will be kept at the station until the owner is contacted.

– A reckless operator in a green Chevy truck was reported at 10:33 a.m. Friday on South Lincoln Avenue, but was not found.

County Sheriff

– William Wright, Oakdale Avenue, Wellsville, reported at 10:13 p.m. Thursday he saw three people looking into his windows and then he heard noises upstairs of his home. Deputies checked the house and the area, but did not find anyone.

– An employee at Save A Lot, Depot Street, Rogers, reported at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday a suspicious man was hanging around the lot. Someone picked him up before deputies arrived.

– Jason Jett, Cherry Street, Homeworth, reported at 1:03 p.m. Thursday sometime overnight someone entered his vehicle and stole three Christmas gifts, power tools, 20 scratch off lottery tickets and prescription medications – 60 Percocet, 80 Ultram, an antibiotic, an inhaler and Mucinex.

– Robert Soules, Country Club Drive, Salem, reported at 11:43 a.m. Thursday there were suspicious people driving around the Sevakeen Lake area. Deputies checked, but found no one around.

– Stephanie Scyoc, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, reported at 9:33 Thursday her 16-year-old son was out of control and knocked a hole in the living room wall. He was calm and sitting on the couch when deputies arrived. He said he could not remember what made him mad causing him to hit the wall. Negley EMS arrived and transported him to the hospital.

– David Gilbert, no address listed, reported a man waiving a gun around at a house near the Elkton Post Office at 3:52 p.m. Thursday. Deputies checked the area but did not find anyone.

Columbiana

– Nancee Meedham, Salineville, was stopped in traffic on North Main Street at Salem Street at 5:28 p.m. Wednesday and Jennifer Barnes, Columbiana, was behind her on North Main Strete and became distracted by children in the back seat of her vehicle and struck Meedham’s vehicle. No citations were issued.

– Tracey Bowser, Columbiana, and Clay Linhart, Leetonia, were northbound on North Main Street at 7 p.m. Wednesday and approaching Stanton Avenue when Bowser slowed and was struck by Linhart. No citations were issued.

– Steve Grant, East Woodland Avenue, reported at 9:49 p.m. Wednesday he heard what sounded like gunshots near his home. Police checked but did not see anyone shooting or hear any gunshots.

– A Lisbon Street resident reported at 3:35 a.m. Thursday someone stole items from their mailbox.

– Melissa Gray reported at10:58 a.m. Thursday she was driving behind a dark blue Oldsmobile on North Main Street on her way to work and it was going all over the road. Police checked the area but could not find the vehicle.

– A man reported at 2:50 p.m. Thursday someone was driving a gray Honda Accord recklessly on state Route 14.

– Someone reported at 4 p.m. Thursday a trailer was parked in front of a fire hydrant on Juniper Street. Police found the owner at a Juniper Street home and told them to move the trailer.

– A woman reported at 10:50 p.m. Thursday there was as a loud black vehicle on Bell Avenue and the driver appeared to be wearing a mask and going to different houses along the street. Police checked and found it was someone delivering newspapers.

– Police recovered a small tent from in front of Kimpel’s Jewelry store at 4:48 a.m. Friday.

East Palestine

– A Walnut Street woman reported at 3 p.m. Tuesday her father, James Luek, was receiving harassing and threatening phone calls. Police checked and discovered there were several other complaints from other residents from the same number, in which the caller begins with a medical alert sales pitch.

Lisbon

– Linda Baker, address not listed, reported at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday Martin Brewer, address not listed, backed into her car at the Circle K parking lot and caused minor damage. No citations were issued due to the crash being on private property.

– A West Washington Street resident reported at 11 a.m. Tuesday a dog was abandoned inside a neighboring home and had not been fed for days. The woman told police the residents had just moved out on Sunday and she hadn’t seen them back since. Police were able to contact the landlord who in turn had the residents contact police. The residents told police they were still in the process of moving out and had been back every day to feed and water the dog and take it outside.

– Police went to the Rite Aid parking lot at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday for a report a woman was asking people for money there. Police spoke with Nicole Hilton who said she never asked anyone for money and was only looking for a ride to her house. She was warned that if she was caught asking for money from people she would be charged.

-Harry McKee, North Beaver Street, reported at 10:19 a.m. Tuesday he was having problems with his son a again. McKee told police that he went to the home to pick up some items and his son was giving him a hard time. Police stood by while he retrieved the property.

– A West Lincoln Way woman was taken by EMS to the Salem hospital at 10 a.m. Thursday after her husband reported she took all four of her pill bottles.

– Ryan Thompson, Saltwell Road, reported at 6 p.m. Wednesday he found someone had entered his home through the side window while he was away and took a beard and mustache trimmer and some body spray. He believed the items were taken by a man he knows, who originally owned the mustache trimmer.

– Police checked on a report of a reckless driver on state Route 30 at 4:17 p.m. Wednesday but did not find the vehicle.

Salem

– Julio L. Velasquez, 26, 341 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and no driver’s license after an officer responded to the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 5:41 p.m. Thursday for a report of a possible intoxicated driver.

Perry Township

– Jason Dwayne Christian, 34, 922 Kent St., East Liverpool, was cited for failure to reinstate following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Benton Road at 11:09 a.m. Tuesday in which he was found to be driving without a valid license.

– Herman R. Gray III, 32, last of 480 Summer St. Apt. 6, Leetonia, was arrested on active warrants out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for child support and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a traffic offense after officers responded to a business in the 1900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:52 a.m. Wednesday.

– Frederick J. Lyda Jr., 34, Petersburg, Ohio, was cited for driving under suspension, fictitious plates and expired registration following a traffic stop on state Route 344 near Cunningham Road at 4:09 p.m. Wednesday.

– Deputies responded Thursday morning to the Sevakeen Lake area for a report of a suspicious vehicle driving around, but after checking the area, he found no one.

Highway Patrol

– After stopping for a stop sign while eastbound on Gromley Road Tuesday, Linda Kay Ammon, 62, McCracken Road, Salem, tried to turn onto McCracken, striking a southbound vehicle driven by Ronald J. Cochran, 52, West State Street, Salem. Ammon was cited for failure to yield.

– Nicholas Hamilton, 17, Howard Street, Columbiana, was cited for failure to control Tuesday after his southbound vehicle went off the side of Unity Road, striking a ditch.

East Liverpool

– While watching a known drug house on Fairview Street where he has stopped other people with crack cocaine, an officer reported seeing a car pull up and illegally park. The driver walked up to the house in question and stood at the door for a moment, accepting something from a man who came to the door then going back to his vehicle. After stopping the vehicle, the officer reported seeing the man with a wrapper containing suspected crack cocaine such as others who came from the house have had. The man swallowed the item but denied medical assistance, telling the officer he is an addict, according to reports. He was advised charges for tampering with evidence may be filed.

– An officer responded to a Dresden Avenue home where the owner asked to have a man removed, saying the man is allowing people to sell drugs from his home and he is scared of him and another man. The officer escorted the man from the property and told him not to return or face trespassing charges.

-While the county sheriff’s office was serving a search warrant at a Ridgeway Street home, several marijuana pipes and roaches were seen in plain view in the living room, according to reports. Resident Kelly M. Boyer, 38, was cited for possession of marijuana after reportedly admitting one of the roaches was hers.

-Joey S. Buxton, West Ninth Street, reported a FedEx package containing a spray tan machine was stolen from her porch.

-A warrant for theft was to be issued for Chachi Peddicord, no age or address listed, after Giant Eagle employees reported surveillance video showed him taking two bottles of alcohol from the state store, concealing hem in his pants and coat. Detectives watched the video and confirmed it was Peddicord shown.

– Cheryl L. Evans, Bradshaw Avenue, returned home to find someone had stolen jewelry, and she suspects her daughter, who she said has stolen from her before.

– An officer received a tip Monday that a man had made a drug transaction on West Ninth Street and, when confronted, the man admitted to the officer he had purchased crack cocaine. The drugs were in the man’s pocket, and he was advised the evidence would be sent for testing and he will be charged through the grand jury.

– Herbert Lockhart, May Street, reported his GPS, hitch extender and toys stolen Monday from his vehicle.

– Crystal M. Burkhammer, no address listed, reported she returned to her vehicle on Riverview Street to find the tray of cookies left on the seat had been eaten, with the empty tray left behind. Also taken was change, Nike shoes and a sports bag.

– Officers responded to a report of a large fight at the corner of St. John and Jackman, where they found several people arguing on the porch of a woman who had died that day. Shannon Shaw, who had power of attorney for the deceased woman, said a man she knows had already taken items and his niece had come to the house that day, walked in and said everything was left to him in the woman’s will. All parties were advised to speak to an attorney.

– Drugs were found in a room at the Vista Motel, according to reports. No other details were reported.

-Catherine S. Vodrey reported she wore her rings to the office at Vodrey Law Offices on Broadway Nov. 14 and took them off, leaving them on her desk without realizing it. The rings are now missing.

– A surveillance video at the Giant Eagle showed a woman enter the store on two separate occasions and place bottles of Mudslide underneath her coat.

– An officer on patrol observed a large amount of furniture lying outside the front door of a Pennsylvania Avenue residence he believed to be foreclosed on. Mayor Jim Swoger responded and filed a formal complaint with the police department about the mess left in the residence.

– A neighbor picking up mail for a hospitalized Dresden Avenue resident reported finding the front door open and an interior door to the basement kicked in. An officer found several drawers had been rummaged through but nothing apparently missing.

– Adam Johnson, Grant Street, reported a Relic watch stolen from his vehicle.

– Anthony Whitaker, Blakely Street, reported his ex-wife and son smashed out the rear window of his truck parked behind his residence. This has been an on-going issue with his truck, according to reports. He was advised to see the law director.

– Officers were called to East Liverpool High School for a couple in a car in the parking lot. The officers reported finding the man and woman in the back seat, with the woman performing a sex act on the man, and both were told to exit the vehicle and get dressed. They were cautioned if they are found on school property again, it better be for a school function, or they will be charged with criminal trespassing.

– Caitlyn N. Stofen, 21, was charged with open container after officers reported seeing her with an open container while a passenger in a vehicle.

– A chain saw and weed eater were reported stolen from the city’s Car Barn.

St. Clair Township

– Heidi Lynn Gallagher, 48, no address listed, was charged Monday with petty theft after reportedly selecting items from the shelves at Walmart, paying for some of them at a self checkout but leaving 11 items valued at $135 unpaid for. She was apprehended by store security personnel.

– John Harrold of BDB Trucking on Annesley Road asked for extra checks around the business after he found sand poured into the fuel tanks of trucks parked there.

Salem

– A South Howard Avenue apartment complex owner reported at 9:23 a.m. Wednesday that a former female resident who had been warned to stay away had recently been hanging around the rear of the building at night.

– An officer responded to a West Pershing Street home at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday where the resident reported his mother had filed a restraining order against him several months prior but had had recently been driving by the home and had also left a gift on the front porch, and said that he did not want her on the property.

– A Woodland Avenue woman reported on station at 12:49 p.m. Wednesday that her ex-boyfriend with whom she previously resided recently moved to town and had been calling her friend’s cell phone looking for her and leaving threatening messages.

– Police responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man hanging around outside a business acting suspicious for “looking dirty,” but was unable to find him.

– Janaea N. Shaw, 35, 207 Hawley Ave., Salem, was charged with theft after allegedly attempting to steal $134.82 in merchandise from a 2800 block East State Street business at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday.

– An officer responded to an East Fourth Street home at 4:36 p.m. Wednesday where the resident reported the father of a woman with whom he used to reside had made a threatening motion toward him while warning him to stay away from the woman. The man and his daughter had left prior to the officer’s arrival.

– An officer responded to a report of smoke in the area of South Lundy Avenue and Aetna Street and found a resident with a small fire in a fire ring with no violation at the rear of his home at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday.

– An officer responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 6:26 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man causing a disturbance and found him arguing about civil matters and refusing to leave when told to do so by employees. The officer gave him options to handle the matter and advised him to leave.

– A patrolling officer at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday heard a loud noise in the area of Monroe and Oak streets, confirmed by several calls to dispatch also reporting the noise, but was unable to find the source.

– Officers responded to the 1500 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a tree that had fallen on several vehicles parked in a driveway. There appeared to be very minor damage to two vehicles.

– An officer responded to the 200 block of West 11th Street at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday to assist a resident having difficulty negotiating her front steps.

– A patrolling officer at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday found a parked red truck in the 300 block of West State Street with its lights on and no one inside. The officer was unable to find the vehicle’s owner.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of Hawley Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Wednesday where the resident reported an incident 30 minutes prior and that the other person had already left. The officers found the other person at an East Seventh Street home who said that the incident was only verbal.

– Police responded to a 2300 block East State Street business at 10:11 p.m. Wednesday for a report of merchandise left outside. An officer stood by until the manager arrived to secure it.

– Mauricio Brito Cedillo, 25, 385 1/2 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and no headlights following a traffic stop for a lane violation in the 100 block of Vine Avenue at 1:17 a.m. Thursday.

– Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle report in the 2700 block of East State Street at 12:10 p.m. Thursday and found it parked between two outbuildings. The vehicle was found to belong to a wanted person, but the officers could not find the owner of the vehicle or property, so they confiscated the license plates.

Salem fire call

– Firefighters responded to the 1200 block of Mould Street at 10 a.m. Wednesday where the Salem Police Department reported a transformer fire. The fire was determined to be a blown fuse on the pole. Firefighters stood by until Ohio Edison arrived at 10:16 a.m.

– Jan Schaefer, state Route 164, Leetonia, reported at 3:06 p.m. Monday her stepson has been unruly and acting out when his father is not home. He also tries to boss his sister around and is slapping or hitting himself when he believes his sister is getting away with something.

– Steven Paul, Buffalo Road, Kensington, reported at 7:53 p.m. Monday someone stole three guns from his home sometime between 6 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Paul was missing a Hi Point 9mm semi auto handgun, a Merlin 12-gauge and a 20-gauge CBC single shot, two which belong to someone else.

– Kayla Javens, Hammondsville, reported at 6:07 p.m. Monday she has been receiving harassing phone calls, someone calling her from a blocked number 56 times starting at 6:14 p.m. Sunday and continuing until 8:28 a.m. Monday. She answered some of the calls and the caller has a male voice. One guy was talking and there were multiple other people heard in the background. The man was calling her obscene names.

-A frantic Laura Parsons, 29, Diamond, reported at 11:32 p.m. Monday she had been kidnapped and the man had a gun. Gerald Santee, the owner of the home she called from on Whinnery Road, told deputies he does not know Parsons, but she came over acting crazy. Parsons was found near Santee’s wife, lying on the ground yelling and flopping about on the ground. She claimed she had been bar hopping with James Moffett, who lives across the street and she had to go over a barbed wire fence to get there while he grabbed her by the hood of her jacket. Deputies put her in the car and took her to Moffett’s house so they could talk to him. She became irate, kicking the door to the cruiser. Moffett claimed they were bar hopping, she began to act weird so he took her to his house where she became enraged and ran across the street into the darkness. Parsons was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

– Gerald Straffon, Willow Lane, Wellsville, reported at 10:49 a.m. Monday he received a call from someone calling himself Albert Johnson who told him he won $950,000 and a Mercedes Benz, but needed to send $1,000 for the 1 percent unpaid taxes. Deputies told Straffon to hang up if Johnson calls back.

– Joni Grant, Depot Street, Rogers, reported at 10:21 a.m. Monday a man with a foreign accent called claiming her son or brother backed into a drug dealer’s car at a gas station and they were holding him hostage. They told her she needed to give them money for his release. She called her son and her brother and everyone is fine.

– Kathy Lewis, Mechanics-town Road, Hanoverton, reported at 12:40 p.m. Monday her father has been receiving scam calls from someone claiming to be from the IRS, threatening to file a lawsuit if he does not send them money.

Highway Patrol

– Charmaine R. Watson, 76, Township Line Road, Wellsville, was northbound on McIntosh Road in Madison Township at 8:40 a.m. Friday and lost control on ice and slid off the left side, re-entered the road, slid off the right side and overturned. She was cited for failure to control and taken to East Liverpool Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Brianne R. Benyi, 35, Hatcher Road, New Waterford, was northbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 1:10 p.m. Saturday and collided with Melissa R. Heck, 41, Struthers Road, New Middletown, who was eastbound on Metz Road and pulled from a stop sign. Heck was cited for stop sign.

– Shane N. Forame, 20, Middletown Road, New Middletown, was northbound on Hofmeister Road in Unity Township at 2 a.m. Friday and went off the left side into a tree. He was cited for failure to control, OVI, driving under administrative license suspension and expired tags.

– Harry M. Crum, 50, Walnut Street, Rogers, was westbound on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township at 2 a.m. Friday and went off the right side into a fence line and a utility pole with a phone box attached to the base. He then left the scene. He was later cited for failure to control.

– Julia Kaye Chuey, 17, Elkton Road, Lisbon, was southbound on Leetonia Road in Salem at 11:52 a.m. Friday and went off the left side into a ditch and rolled over. She was cited for failure to control.

– Walter Martin, 22, Alliance, was westbound on Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 5 a.m. Friday and went off the right side into a mailbox. No citations were issued due to the poor condition of the road.

– Michael D. Allison, 55, state Route 644, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 518 in Franklin Township at 1:20 p.m. Friday and was struck by Peter C. Ellefson, 19, Beaver Falls, Pa., who was eastbound on state Route 518 and went off the right side and then spun counter-clockwise across the center line. After impact Allison went off the right side of the road and into a ditch while Ellefson came to rest in both lanes. Ellefson was cited for failure to control.

– Joseph A. Ross, 24, Hammond School Road, Wellsville, was eastbound on Hammond School Road in Madison Township at 4:10 p.m. Saturday and hit a dog and then went off the left side into a ditch.

– Robert A. Mercer, 22, Foraker Street, Rogers, was northeastbound on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 3:30 a.m. Sunday and went left of center off the left side of the road and into a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control and OVI.

– Anthony Rocco Manis-calco, 16, Jefferson Avenue, Salem, was westbound on Glasgow Road in Madison Township at 3:40 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into an embankment. He was cited for failure to control.

– Katherine M. Phillips, 49, Parkview Road, Hanoverton, was southbound on Woods-dale Road in Butler Township at 1:21 p.m. Monday and sideswiped a northbound vehicle that continued on.

Columbiana

– Tammy Fetterhoff, West Woodland Avenue, reported at 8:18 a.m. Monday she wanted her ex-boyfriend Jamie Bertolette warned to not come onto her property when he is in town. Police notified Bertolette and warned him he would be charged if he went onto her property.

– Helen A. Prest, 49, West Pine Lake Road, Columbiana, was southbound on state Route 164 at 10 a.m. Monday and was struck by Harold D. Norris, 67, state Route 558, Leetonia, who was north-bound and turning west. He was cited for failure to yield making a left turn.

Lisbon

– Police went to 835 N. Market St. at 3:39 p.m. Monday for a report of a possible overdose. At the home police found Timothy Wamsley unconscious with what appeared to be drug paraphernalia around. The woman who reported the overdose and another man in the home refused to provide police with any information and Wamsley later woke up and told police he was fine, although he did agree to be transported by EMS to the Salem hospital for treatment.

– Police went to the Save-A-Lot on East Lincoln Way at 4:42 p.m. Monday for a report that a woman was attempting to pay with a counterfeit bill. The woman, Mandy Donaldson, told police she received the $50 bill from Cashland in Salem and then contacted the company and a representative told her they check all of their money before it leaves the business. She then told police her husband had one more $50 from the Cashland store and police told her to have him check the money as well. Her husband then arrived at the store and police checked his money, and it did not appear to be counterfeit.

– Kari House, 26, East Fifth Street, Salem, was southbound on North Market Street at 12:15 p.m. Friday and was struck by Thomas Gallo, 57, West High Street, Lisbon, who pulled from the stop sign on East Pine. Gallo was cited for right of way.

– Eric L. Mitcham, 54, Warren, was turning onto East Lincoln Way from Jefferson Street and hit a light pole located on the sidewalk and pulled it down. He was cited for driving off a state Route.

St. Clair Township

– While northbound in the through lane of Dresden Avenue Monday, Michael M. Brletich, 60, Bye Road, East Palestine, reportedly tried to change lanes, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Lori J. Rudibaugh, 55, Michigan Avenue. Brletich was cited for improper lane change.

– While turning onto Annesley Road from East Liverpool Road, a southbound vehicle driven by Michael W. Nelson, 18, Fawcett Street went out of control, coming to rest in a ditch against a hillside. He was cited for failure to control.

– Joseph F. Parsons, 67, Gonzalez Avenue, was southbound on state Route 11 when his vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, striking the Jersey barrier. The vehicle then came back across both lanes, striking a guardrail. Parsons told officers he apparently fell asleep.

Hancock County arrests

– Travis R. McKinnon, 37, of Chester: Capias; Dec. 22.

– Susan Marie Mussgrove, 34, of Weirton: Capias; Dec. 22.

– Forrest C. McKinnon, 33, of Chester: Receiving stolen goods (misdemeanor), receiving stolen goods (felony); Dec. 22.

Perry Township

– Chrystal Mountz, 48, of Depot Road, Salem, was cited for reasonable control after wrecking on Cunningham Road at 5:41 p.m. Sunday. Due to the vehicle striking the guide wire, the pole was leaning sideways.

– Police at 2:17 a.m. Sunday saw a vehicle in the entrance to the ReStore on North Ellsworth, then saw the passenger get out and be physically sick. Officers found the driver had not been drinking, but another passenger, Joshua Slagle, 20, of Salem, had been drinking. He was charged with underage consumption.

– Police cited a driver and took two of his passengers into custody on warrants after a traffic stop at 11:55 p.m. Saturday on state Route 344 east of Cunningham Road for an alleged equipment violation. The driver, Daniel A. Cunningham, 29, of Wellsville, did not possess a valid driver’s license and was cited for failure to reinstate. None of the four occupants had a valid license, so the vehicle was towed by Davidson’s. A ride was given to the driver and another occupant. Shawn Cunningham, 27, of East Liverpool, was taken into custody on a county warran. Another passenger, Cindel Hawkins, 24, last known address was Youngstown, was cited for falsification after providing a false name and date of birth to officers. It was later discovered she was wanted in Mahoning County on a felony warrant for theft of a vehicle. Both Hawkins and Cunningham were taken to the county jail.

– David Wayne Burpo, 42, of Salem, was charged with failure to control and OVI after he allegedly failed to negotiate turning right onto the bypass and traveled off the left side of the road over an embankment and became stuck at 2:34 a.m. Saturday. A Salem police officer passing through the intersection of Benton Road and the bypass witnessed the incident. Burpo was transported to Perry Township police department for processing and became disruptive. He was taken to the county jail.

– A caller on North Lincoln Avenue spoke to an officer at 7:54 p.m. Friday regarding possible child abuse. Police responded to the 1300 block of West State Street and spoke with both parents of the child. Officers didn’t observe any signs of child abuse, just parents disciplining their child for fighting with a sibling.

Salem

– An Alliance man reported at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday that he was being harassed and threatened over social media. An officer saw the messages sent and told him the information would be documented. An attempt will be made to contact the person responsible. He was also told to have no further contact with the girl the problems began over.

– April Lozier, 46, of West Sixth Street, was cited for a red light violation and driving under suspension after her westbound vehicle on East State proceeded through a red light at Lundy, striking a vehicle driven by Robert McCrae, of Lisbon, who was northbound on Lundy at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday.

– An officer on patrol at 3:38 a.m. Tuesday saw a vehicle parked at Waterworth Memorial Park off of Superior Avenue. The officer spoke with a male and female who said they were looking for deer. Everything checked OK and they were sent on their way.

– Police responded to the 2000 block of Monroe at 3:06 a.m. Tuesday for a welfare check on a male. The caller lives out of state and reported receiving text messages from his son which concerned him. The male told police he was fine and had no intention of harming himself.

-Police were called at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard for a juvenile complaint. An officer told the boy he needs to listen to his parent. He said there would be no more problems.

– Police were called to check the well-being of a resident in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue at 10:06 p.m. Monday, but the resident was not home.

– A fight was reported at 10:04 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue. The complainant said the other male half involved left on foot. Officers located the male in the 1100 block of East State Street. They found that he was highly intoxicated and a risk to himself and others, so he was taken into custody. Richard Wagner Jr., 21, of 1302 W. Garfield Road, Columbiana, was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the county jail.

– A clerk at Quaker Village, 201 S. Lincoln Ave., reported receiving three counterfeit $10 bills at 7:13 p.m. Monday. The woman was told they did not pass the pen test so she paid with a credit card. The clerk wasn’t able to get the vehicle registration since it came through the drive-through. The woman was described with blonde hair driving a blue vehicle. Video footage will be reviewed.

– Police were called to the Giant Eagle parking lot, 2401 E. State St., at 5:59 p.m. Monday for a report of three suspicious males attempting to solicit customers for money. Officers didn’t find them.

– A semi tractor trailer was reported parked on South Ellsworth at 5:36 p.m. Monday obstructing the view of motorists coming from Mullins Street. The truck was moving when an officer arrived. The driver said he was attempting to locate the proper loading point at a nearby business. The officer directed him to the west side of the building.

– Rachel Seals, 36, of 8083 state Route 45, Lisbon, was charged with theft and taken to the county jail Monday for alleging shoplifting $227 worth of items from Walmart.

– Police were called at 4:24 p.m. Monday to Salem Regional Medical Center for a disorderly irate person being transported by KLG. When KLG arrived, the person was calm and cooperative.

– A woman on Beechwood Road reported at 3:08 p.m. Monday that someone from a law firm has been calling her house and cell phone and asking for someone she does not know. An officer called the number and told them to take her number off their list.

Goshen Police District

– Elliot D. Crank, 19, 942 E. Fifth St., Salem, was charged with underage consumption and disorderly conduct by intoxication after officers responded with Mahoning County sheriff’s deputies to a home in the 10000 block of Middletown Road at 12:21 a.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious vehicles at the vacant property. Officers found multiple people inside the home, one of which said his father was the homeowner and provided a key for access. Crank was located with empty beer cans in a vehicle belonging to the father of one of the people at the home, who was going to give him a ride home. During the investigation Crank was consistently disruptive.

– John B. Hang, 40, 15772 Route 14, Salem, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after officers responded to his home at 6:07 p.m. Sunday. His wife Stephanie said he struck her in the arm and back of the head during a verbal dispute in his vehicle. She said he struck her in front of their children after she poked him in the cheek and then left. John Hang returned while officers were talking to the victim and placed him under arrest.

Salem fire call

– Firefighters responded to Fresh Mark at 1735 S. Lincoln Ave. for a fire alarm at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday. The sprinkler system activated for an unknown reason. The alarm was put out of service by maintenance personnel.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Patricia Todd, Hamilton Road, East Palestine, reported at 2:53 p.m. Friday she received a call and the caller ID said West Branch Schools. The woman calling had an accent and wanted to talk to the person responsible for the Dominion Gas bill. She told the caller they had reached a residence and had the wrong number. She called West Branch Schools and someone there said they have had other calls from citizens complaining about the caller. Todd also said she received a call a few weeks ago from a woman, who sounded unsure of herself and who claimed she was from the public defender’s office calling for a juror.

– Deputies were sent to James Drive, Wellsville, for a loud noise complaint at 2:52 a.m. Sunday. Deputies could hear a man yelling within trailer 1124 and when they knocked a man opened the door aggressively to question what they wanted. Deborah Heiney requested help from inside the trailer and Daniel Steeves was detained. Heiney claimed she and Steeves were at My Bar in Wellsville drinking when he became belligerent and was thrown out. She was walking home and was nearly there when he began assaulting her by punching and dragging her. Then he continued assaulting her inside the trailer. Steeves was charged with domestic violence.

– Lorie Gfeller, Berlin Center, requested a welfare check on her daughter at 3:35 p.m. Saturday after Gfeller reported the child’s father had shoved and pushed her into his vehicle. Deputies talked to the child, who said her mother and father got into an argument at the Salem Community Center, but she denied she was injured. The father, Tim Herron, said it was his week for visitation, but the mother attempted to take the girl after a soccer game.

– Dave Fisher, Laura Avenue, Homeworth, reported at 11:35 a.m. Sunday his yellow 2004 Chevy Cavalier has a hole in the passenger side door he believed may have been created with a screwdriver.

– Charles Hoschar, Lake Front Drive, Beloit, reported at 10:11 a.m. Sunday his ex-girlfriend has been harassing him. Deputies called Angel Rhodes and she agreed to stop contacting Hoschar.

– Pat Wright reported a fight at another room at the Traveler’s Motel, state Route 45, Lisbon, at 1:47 a.m. Sunday. Deputies spoke to Brandi Cope, who claimed she and her friend had been just hanging out and being intimate, but he had just left. There was no fight.

– Don Vos, Hazel Run Road, Salineville, reported a domestic incident at a neighbor’s home at 11:08 p.m. Friday. Deputies found Robert Westover with scratches and red marks on his head, neck and face. He claimed Penny Wisbeth, his live-in girlfriend, had done it. Westover told deputies he had picked Wisbeth up in Wellsville and when they arrived at home, she refused to get out of his vehicle. Instead she began kicking the dashboard and when he attempted to stop her, she reportedly began slapping and scratching him. Wisbeth was charged with domestic violence.

– Deputies were notified by Carnation Security of a possible break in at the Homeworth Pantry, Middle Street, Homeworth, at 3:53 a.m. Sunday. Deputies are investigating a break in and theft.

– Donna Braun, state Route 165, East Palestine, reported at 12:49 a.m. Sunday she and her spouse, Jeffrey Braun, began arguing on the way home from a bar in Youngstown. He reportedly pulled her hair while on state Route 165 near their home and she had a cut on the side of her head, which was bleeding. Jeffrey Braun claimed his wife was intoxicated and was trying to jump out of the vehicle while it was on the highway. He grabbed hold of her any way he could. He reportedly had an attitude with deputies and was charged with domestic violence.

– Sara Wood, Market Street, Salineville, reported a domestic dispute at 1:23 p.m. Sunday at a Jefferson Street address. Sam Earich told deputies he was sitting on the couch when his brother, David Earich came downstairs and told him he had no control over their little sister. David Earich then grabbed Sam by the neck and started squeezing. When Sam attempted to get away, his brother then grabbed him by the back of the pants and slammed him on the floor. David Earich was charged with domestic violence.

Highway Patrol

– Robert M. Plumley, 31, Gardendale Road, East Liverpool, and Justin D. Gunther, 33, Boyd Road, Wellsville, were eastbound on U.S. 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 6:15 p.m. Thursday. Gunther reportedly attempted to pass and collided with Plumley. No citations were issued due to conflicting statements from both drivers.

– Allison Faye Grossen, 27, Kelly Park Road, Leetonia, was southbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 6 p.m. Dec. 16 and failed to yield turning left and struck Danielle R. Wright, 33, state Route 644, Kensington, who was northbound. Grossen was cited for failure to yield and OVI and taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Shirley Marshell, 70, Fredericktown Road, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday and went off the right side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

– Richard L. Eberth, 48, Lisbon Road, Canfield, was westbound on U.S. 62 and stopped in traffic at 11:20 a.m. Saturday and was struck from behind by John D. Strudthoff, 35, Heisler Road, North Benton. Strudthoff was cited for assured clear distance.

– Sebastion P. Crean, 17, New Garden Road, Salem, was southbound on Depot Road in Salem Township at 10 a.m. Sunday and attempted to make a left turn onto Salem Grange Road and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

Lisbon

– A caller reported there was someone having a medical episode on North Beaver Street at 5:22 a.m. Saturday and an ambulance was on its way. Police arrived to find Nick Stacey, who said he passed out and then came to. His father arrived and transported him to a local hospital.

– A resident called to Applegrove at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with a complaint about Vickie Waite. Police spoke with Waite, who had since left, and she said she was just trying to deliver a Christmas card. Waite said she would not return to the apartment.

– Nickolas Perez, North Market Street, reported Thursday he saw a pickup truck back into his vehicle outside his home. Police spoke with Frank Delligatti, the truck owner, and he was unaware he might have struck Perez’s car. Police noted there were what appeared to be fresh scratches on Delligatti’s vehicle.

– Police were called to the Rite Aid at 7 p.m. Friday in regard to a man who was hanging around. Police spoke with the man, who was friendly and stated he was waiting for a ride. Police gave the man a ride to the Family Recovery Center.

– Susan I. Pritt, 30, Sixth Street, East Liverpool, was cited for assured cleared distance after she drove her vehicle into the rear of a vehicle driven by Kim M. Halverstadt, 60, South Vine Street, who was stopped in traffic on state Route 154 at 1 p.m. Dec. 5.

East Palestine

– John L. Chupka, address not listed, reported at 11:55 p.m. Thursday he could see a woman hanging out of a window at a West Martin Street home and she was yelling for help. Police went to the home and believed that the woman, Desaray Kerr, was a victim of domestic violence. She refused to press charges against her boyfriend, Joseph Watson.

Columbiana

– Beaver Township police requested assistance at 2:48 a.m. Sunday for a report of an underage drinking party at a South Avenue home.

– Sandra Bevington, East Liverpool, was eastbound on state Route 14 from East Park Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Sunday and lost control and ran off the left side of the road. She was cited for failure to control.

– Holly Ferguson of Pennsylvania requested at 6 p.m. Sunday police check on her father at Manor Apartments. Police found the man and there were no problems.

– A woman reported at 7:13 p.m. Sunday an elderly man driving a white Malibu near the traffic circle appeared to be very disoriented. Police found the driver to be 84-year-old Hugh Gottswalk of Barberton, who had been reported as a missing person. He brought to the police station where a family member arrived to pick him up.

– A Goshen Township girl reported at 9:19 p.m. Sunday she was being followed by someone she knows while driving in Salem and that they had threatened her at her home on Friday, and that while driving the people threw a drink at her car near Dunkin Donuts.

Salineville

– Police met with David Willis, East Main Street, on Friday and advised him several residents phoned in complaints regarding excessive refuse in his yard and porch. Morris said he earns his living by scrapping metal. He was advised to clean up the yard and porch to avoid receiving a citation regarding the village’s ordinance of nuisance, litter and junk. Morris said he would have it cleaned by Monday before moving to Columbus.

– Katrina Willis was cited at 8:42 a.m. Saturday for failure to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of state Route 39 and East Main Street.

– Police assisted sheriff’s deputies Sunday regarding an arrest warrant out for Tammy Johnson, who was eventually arrested by Salineville police around 8:17 p.m. for two warrants on OVI charges, and then was turned over to the sheriff’s office and booked at the county jail.

– Phillip Steele, Highland Drive, East Liverpool, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. Saturday and cited for OVI after officers stopped him on West Main Street after seeing him drive erratically. Steele was given two field sobriety tests, which he failed. Two open beers were found in the car, and Steele admitted to taking a schedule 1 narcotic that did not belong to him. He was taken to the highway patrol post for further testing, and then to the county jail for booking. This was Steele’s sixth OVI violation.

Salem Township

– Joan McClish, state Route 164, reported Friday receiving a call from a person representing Publishers Clearing House claiming she had won and needed to send a $1,000 mailgram to receive the prize. McClish knew from the beginning this was a scam and did not respond.

East Liverpool

– While on patrol Sunday, an officer observed a man walking near Mars Alley at 1:44 a.m., carrying a plastic bag and acting suspiciously. When stopped by the officer, the man, later identified as Christian M. Byers, 21, Bradshaw Avenue, said he had just purchased groceries at Giant Eagle. The officer reported, however, that he was carrying a Walmart shopping bag that contained several bags of candy, several GPS units and two phones. Byers’ pants pockets were full of items, including change, brass knuckles, several lighters, miscellaneous CDs, multiple packs of cigarettes and a knife, according to reports. He reportedly admitted to having broken into several vehicles. Byers was charged with carrying a concealed weapon due to the brass knuckles, with other charges pending.

– Randi L. Vaughn, 24, Dresden Avenue, was charged Sunday afternoon with theft after clerks at Rite Aid reported seeing her conceal several items in her purse. She reportedly admitted to officers having taken the items.

– Gregory A. Beatty, 18th Street, Wellsville, reportedly pulled into the Westgate parking lot and while turning his vehicle backed into a fence post.

St. Clair Township

– Officers were dispatched at 1:34 a.m. Monday to Sheetz for a possible domestic dispute and reported talking with Joshlyn Cowdery, state Route 170, who said she and her live-in boyfriend, Donald R. Cramer, 33, had a dispute at their home and he left, locking her out and taking her phone and belongings. She had walked to Sheetz to call police. Officers drove Cowdery home, where they found Cramer. Both had outstanding charges and warrants out of Colorado, and while they were looking in a vehicle for paperwork on a protection order, officers reported seeing a box containing 10 jars holding green vegetable matter and a smoking device as well as two small baggies containing the same green vegetable matter. Another smoking device was seen in plain view on a refrigerator in the garage, according to reports. Officers reported Cramer said he had brought the suspected marijuana back from Colorado. Both Cramer and Cowdery were charged with violating protection orders, with additional charges pending.

Salem

– A Deming Street resident reported at 2:23 a.m. Monday someone was knocking on the windows. Nobody was found.

– A caller at 2:05 a.m. Monday reported an accident with injuries in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue, but police were unable to locate anything. Police learned the the accident was in Goshen Township and contacted police there.

– Police were called at 8:31 p.m. Sunday to Taco Bell, 1872 E. State St., for an employee threatening another with a knife. Upon arrival, officers were told the situation was under control and one of the employees was sent home. The suspect said he was just joking around and was not going to hurt the other employee. He was told he can’t make threats towards others. The victim did not want to press charges.

– A woman on East Third Street reported telephone harassment at 7:24 p.m. Sunday, saying there were no threatening messages, but she did not know who was texting her phone. She was told to stop all contact with the number and have it blocked.

– Police reported at 6:05 p.m. Sunday to the 200 block of West 16th Street where a man reported a computer tablet missing while family was visiting. The visitors all denied taking the tablet and all agreed to have officers check their purses and vehicles, with the tablet not found. They filled out statements and information was being sent to the prosecutor.

– A cell phone found in the area of East State Street and Union Avenue and turned over to police at 4:59 p.m. Sunday was returned to its owner at the police station.

– A woman walking her dog in the 800 block of North Lincoln at 1:10 p.m. Sunday reported two dogs attacked her dog. No injuries were observed to her dog. An officer spoke to the owner of the two dogs and they said they would take care of the problem.

– Police were notified at 8:43 a.m. Sunday by St. Elizabeth Health Center regarding an accidental injury that occurred in the city. The detectives were notified and investigated the situation, finding that a woman on Fourth Street suffered a knife injury. They determined it was a freak accident.

-Dale Neiswanger, 25, of 4566 Union Ave., Homeworth, was cited for OVI, assured clear distance and hit/skip after the vehicle he was driving struck the rear of another on East State near Cunningham Road at 11:47 p.m. Saturday. The other driver, Ricky Davis, 52, of North Jefferson Street, Lisbon, gave police a description of the vehicle which fled the scene. The report said the passenger in the Davis vehicle, identified as Barbara Davis, 52, also of Lisbon, appeared to be in shock and was having back pain. She was taken to SRMC. While talking with police, Davis saw the suspect vehicle pulling out of Walmart. Officers stopped it and took Neiswanger into custody.

Highway Patrol

– Tamra J. Bing, 32, East High Street, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after she pulled from Rose Drive onto state Route 45 in Center Township and her Liberty was struck by an Impala driven by Louis J. Tuttle, 56, Monroeville Heights, Salineville. The accident occurred at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

– Faith M. Scandreth, 20, Commerce Street, Salineville, was cited for failure to control after going off the road in her S-10 pickup and into an embankment on state Route 164 at the intersection of Columbiana-Lisbon Road in Fairfield Township at 11:39 p.m. Thursday.

– Tami M. Poage, 54, Hillside Drive, Salem, went off the road into a ditch while driving on Buck Road in Butler Township at 8 a.m. Saturday. Poage was not cited because of the poor road conditions.

– Shelly Y. Oatson, 41, Walnut Street, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after she pulled into the path of a car driven by Larry L. Figgs, 77, Georgetown-Damascus Road, Beloit. The accident occurred at the intersection of Morris and Walnut streets in Butler Township at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Lisbon

– Richard L. Randolph Jr., 30, Macrum Street, East Liverpool, was cited for driving left of center and OVI after a traffic stop on East Lincoln Way at 2:53 a.m. Sunday.

Columbiana

– The alarm was going off at United Rentals at 7 a.m. Saturday, but the building was found to be secure.

– A caller who lives at 526 N. Main St. reported Saturday he believes his neighbors moved, leaving behind two dogs who were outside barking. Police checked on the dogs at 8:20 a.m. and they appeared fine at the time.

– The vault alarm was going off at the PNC Bank branch at 6:55 p.m. Saturday but the building was found to be secure.

– A caller from 28 S. Cross St. reported at 6:27 p.m. Saturday the dog at 14 S. Cross St. was barking constantly. Police arrived but did not hear any dogs barking and checked later but still did not hear any barking.

– Carie Clinton, Allen Drive, reported Saturday being harassed by someone she knows.

Center Township

– Police were called Friday to the intersection of Mattix Road and state Route 164, where they found a drunken woman who fell out of the vehicle when she opened the passenger-side door to throw up. Police observed a cut to her head and blood on her face, so an ambulance was summoned to transport her to a local hospital.

– Police were called to a Center Avenue home on Dec. 11 in regard to a man who was contemplating harming himself. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

– Police were called Dec. 12 to a road rage incident in the drive-through line at McDonald’s. By the time police arrived neither of the callers wanted to speak with an officer.

– Amber M. Rohm of Lisbon was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop on Route 45 on Dec. 12.

– Police responded to a burglar alarm going off at a Mattix Road residence on Dec. 12. After arriving the officer found the homeowner’s sister was there and did not know the security password.

– Police were told a possible drunk driver in the area of state Route 172 and Depot Road on Dec. 13. The driver was stopped and she was found not to be impaired, but her passenger, Timothy Adkins of Lisbon, was taken into a custody on an arrest warrant out of Poland Township. Adkins was also cited for possessing drug paraphernalia.

– Police were asked Dec. 15 by the sheriff’s office to handle a crash on state Route 164 near Miller Road, where motorist Courtney L. Bowerock had struck a deer.

– Julie A. Macuich, Speidel Road, Hanoverton, backed into a vehicle driven by Elizabeth A. McDole, state Route 45, Lisbon, in the Italo’s parking lot on Tuesday.

– Robert J. Crespo, Roberts Road, Leetonia, was cited for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop for a moving violation on state Route 517 on Dec. 14.

– Albert L. Baker, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant out of the sheriff’s office following a traffic stop on Teagarden Road on Friday.

Salem

– Police responded to North Ellsworth at 2:23 a.m. Sunday as Perry Township police placed a person into custody for underage consumption.

– At 7:10 am. Sunday, police responded to West Perry where a woman with mental issues said her air duct vent started moving on its own. An officer checked the vents, which had not been tampered with.

– A Lexington Drive woman reported Saturday her daughter did not return from school Friday. The girl has been acting unruly recently and causing problems. She was entered into LEADs.

– Police responded to the 2800 block of East State at 1:45 a.m. Saturday and met the store manager who said a man made threats and was rude to several women customers, but was gone when police arrived. The manager provided a license plate number and the vehicle was located leaving. The person was still very irate and was advised not to return to the store.

– Police responded to South Union at 1:31 p.m. Sunday where the complainant was in the process of moving out and said the landlord took some of their property.

POLICE

Columbiana

– An officer on patrol at 12:52 a.m. Friday came across a partially opened door at the AT&T store but the door could not be opened enough for someone to enter.

– An officer on patrol at 1:43 a.m. Friday came across lights on at the D’Lux but the building was found to be secure.

– A caller reported there were two vehicles driving behind the baseball field on Metz Road at 11:28 p.m. Friday and she could hear yelling coming from one of the vehicles.

– Police went to a home on West Park Avenue at 2:58 p.m. Friday in regard to a female threatening to harm herself. The female was transported by ambulance to a local hospital to be examined.

– Janet Barnes of Canfield was stopped in traffic on North Main Street when her vehicle was struck in the rear by another vehicle operated by Daniel Guy of Salem at 6 p.m. Friday. The resulting collision pushed Barnes’ vehicle into the vehicle in front of her, which was operated by Duane Yerke of Columbiana. Guy was cited.

– Bonnie Forney, South Middle Street, reported Thursday gasoline was siphoned from her two vehicles in her driveway the past two nights.

East Palestine

– Christy L. Little, East Main Street, called at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday because she wanted a man removed from her apartment.

– Heidi L. Gorby, 40, reported at 2:08 p.m. Friday her ex-boyfriend, Michael S. Baker, was putting her property outside of his residence on Park Avenue.

– Devon Matthew reported there was a juvenile all dressed in black walking in the area of the high school at 1:26 a.m. Thursday. Police did not find the suspect.

County Sheriff

– A deputy was called to a home on Butcher Road, Leetonia, at 3:42 p.m. Thursday in regard to a possible overdose. Upon arrival the deputy was told the call was a mistake, and that the cat had knocked over a pill bottle, leading the daughter to believe her father had ingested the pills.

– An official with AT&T called Friday afternoon to say they were receiving calls about a line being down and they determined that a phone line had been cut down near Sixteen School Road in Yellow Creek Township. Approximately 150 feet of wire was found to have been stolen.

– Anthony Hilliard, Lynchburg Road, Kensington, called with a loud music complaint on Buffalo Road at 8:35 p.m. Thursday. Hilliard he said the persons had just quit playing the music and was told to call back if it should resume.

– Plant manager Malakia Hilton reported Friday that Appalachian Trailer, state Route 9, Salem, has been broken into by someone throwing a pipe wrench through a glass door. Blood was later found in the bathroom along with some bandages. Several tools were missing.

– Dorothy Cutlip, state Route 9, Hanoverton, called for a deputy at 10:33 p.m. Friday after receiving text messages from a man she knows, one of which was a pistol with a caption stating that today might be the day. Cutlip declined to press charges but expressed concern about the man. The deputies checked on him and he appeared to be stable. They told him to cease contacting Cutlip.

Chester, W.Va.

– Kace Lee Shmigal, 26, of Chester, W.Va., failure to maintain control, failure to produce proof of insurance.

-Morgan R. Cox, 28, was picked up at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday while working at Hot Shots II. Cox is wanted in Columbiana County on charges of felonious assault, criminal damaging and menacing.

– Brett A. Lang Jr., 24, of New Cumberland, W.Va., leaving the scene of an accident with damage, no insurance.

County Sheriff

– Karen Guappone, state Route 46, New Waterford, reported at 10:54 p.m. Thursday she received a call from Christy Tegler, who left a message telling her she better watch her back. Tegler told deputies it was Guappone who was calling her. Both were told to stop communicating.

– Lucinda Best, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, reported at 9:28 p.m. Thursday reported a protection order violation. A neighbor saw him at his wife’s home. Scott Best told deputies he wrote a note to his wife and took it to the residence where she was staying. He was charged with violating a protection order.

Highway Patrol

– Roxanne Nicole Phillips, 19, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 9 p.m. Thursday when the vehicle she was driving, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix owned by Sharon J. Donnelly, began smoking. She pulled onto the berm and it caught fire. Columbiana EMS checked her passengers, a 16-year-old and an 8-month-old child. The Columbiana and Leetonia Fire Department also responded to put out the fire.

– Christine L. Brady, 42, state Route 172, Minerva, was northbound on Knox-School Road in Knox Township when she slid off the left side of the road and struck a ditch at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Brady was treated for minor injuries at the scene by Minerva EMS and cited with reasonable control.

– A Multi County Juvenile Attention Systems van driven by Nanette M. Bates, 60, Freeman Road, Lisbon, was westbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when it struck a broken tree limb protruding into the roadway, breaking the right mirror.

– Nathan A. Boyd, 29, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was cited with reasonable control after he was southeast bound on U.S. Route 30 in Elkrun Township and went off the right side of the road striking a guardrail and a sign at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Both of Boyd’s passengers, Daniel M. Duke, 23, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, and Dennis R. McDole, 19, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, were taken to East Liverpool City Hospital for minor injuries.

– Hillary A. Simpson, 23, Toronto, was southbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, when a horse and buggy driven by Jake N. Wengerd, 43, Millrock Road, Rogers pulled from a private driveway. Simpson struck Wengerd and both vehicles went off the left side of the road. The buggy, which had the proper blinking lights working, overturned. There were no injuries and the horse was unharmed. Wengerd was cited with failure to yield.

– Melinda Marie Richey, 20, Adams Road, East Palestine, was cited with failure to control at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 after she was westbound on Crestview Road in Fairfield Township and went off the right side of the roadway striking a ditch. She was not injured.

Lisbon

– Nicole Hilton, West Chestnut Street, Lisbon, reported at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 a guy, Wayne, was trying to hurt her. She told police he was moving her papers around. Police told her moving papers around is not a crime and she needs to stop calling and saying she was being hurt when she wasn’t.

– Kenny Haines, North Market Street, reportedly called KLG ambulance at 6:26 p.m. Dec. 11, but then stated he didn’t need to go to the hospital, he only called KLG to tell them he was fine. Police warned him not to call the ambulance service again for this reason.

– An opossum was struck on Saltwell Road and traffic was backed up there because of the animal at 7:14 p.m. Dec. 9. Police arrived, located the animal and disposed of it.

– Vickie Waite, Saltwell Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:26 a.m. Wednesday she is getting a check, going shopping at Rite Aid and Sparkle, and she has a Christmas card for police. Police spoke to her and she told them she was fine. She gave police a Christmas card.

– Stephanie Murphy, West Washington Street, Lisbon, reported at 3:28 a.m. Wednesday she sent messages Cody Harmon on Tuesday telling him to stop harassing her after he sent her some messages. Most of the messages were Harmon accusing Murphy of causing Eric Collins to be fired and telling her she also should be fired for things she has done. Police attempted to call Harmon, but could not reach him.

– An accident was reported in the Home Savings and Loan parking lot at 10:56 a.m. Tuesday. Carl D. Pennell, state Route 45, Leetonia, struck the side of a bus owned by Community Action Agency and driven eastbound through the parking lot by William A. Pritchard Jr., Eastview Drive, Salem. There were four additional occupants on the bus, two 4-year-olds, a 5-year-old and Katie Morjock, 28, Columbia Street, Leetonia.

– Robin Beabout, state Route 154, Lisbon, a clerk from BP Oil, reported at 9:28 p.m. Monday a suspicious car was in the parking lot and they had been there for awhile. Police spoke to two men, who said they were meeting there because it was halfway for both of them. One had sold an item to the other on Craigslist and they were meeting there.

– Police assisted deputies in serving a warrant at Twin Oaks trailer park at 8:52 p.m. Monday. A woman was taken into custody without any incident.

St. Clair Township

– Officers were called to the Calcutta Woods Apartment complex on Sprucevale Road Thursday for an abandoned vehicle over the hill. The complex manager asked to have the vehicle towed, and Calcutta Towing did so.

Wellsville

– Responding to a 911 call to Independence Square about a man passed out, officers found Travis McKinnon lying on the ground, incoherent. The apartment’s tenant, Brittany Mays, told officers McKinnon had come to the back door to give her money for their two children and he fell over. She was advised by officers she cannot have such people in her apartment, and that had this incident occurred inside, she could have been evicted. McKinnon had an outstanding warrant and was transported to the police station.

– Officers responded to an Aten Avenue residence for a domestic dispute where Christina Carlson, 31, and Robert L. Byrd Jr., 34, Harker Avenue, were in a verbal argument on the sidewalk. Byrd kept talking over officers and failed to obey when told to desist, and he was charged with disorderly conduct.

– Elsie Rowe, Wood Street, reported she returned home and, when inserting her key in the door, found it opened easier than usual. When she stepped inside, Rowe saw a shadow down the hallway so closed the door and ran to a neighbor’s to call police. The neighbor checked the residence prior to officers’ arrival, and Rowe said the door had been opened. A purse containing $35 in quarters was taken.

– A manager for Rite Aid reported a lock had been cut on the propane tank storage bin and an unknown number of cylinders had been taken. She said a patron from Tony’s Bar across the street advised two men wearing hooded sweatshirts were seen removing the cylinders and placing them in a black four-door car.

Perry Township

– A caller from the 900 block of Elberon Avenue at 12:12 p.m. Thursday reported an open door at a neighbor’s house. Police responded and found the front door to the residence open, checked the interior of the house and did not find anyone inside. The front door was secured and the officer left.

– A woman from Gahanna called at 10:20 a.m. Thursday to report items allegedly stolen from a family member while staying at Sterling House on South Lincoln Avenue. The family member had passed away and after cleaning out the family member’s room, it was discovered that jewelry, money and other items were missing. She said an attempt has been made to speak with the director of the facility regarding the theft, but a phone call had not been returned.

– Goshen Township Police requested at 2:22 a.m. Friday that an officer check with the owner of a vehicle they found wrecked and ascertain who was driving it. The registered owner was contacted on Cunningham Road and said his daughter had the car. He made contact with her and she was returning to the scene of the accident.

– Police responded at 11:34 p.m. Thursday to a domestic on Andrew Avenue. Both parties claimed to have been assaulted by the other, but neither wanted to give statements. No visible signs of injury were observed. The female decided she would contact a friend and leave for the night. Salem Police provided assistance on the call.

Salem

– A passenger in a vehicle driven by Timothy Blake, which was parked at Rite Aid, reported at 12:27 p.m. Friday that another vehicle tried to pull into the parking spot next to the vehicle and struck the rear passenger side bumper. The other vehicle was gone when officers arrived, but the passenger had written down the license number. Police located the residence for the other vehicle’s owner, but were unable to contact anyone. There was minimal damage to the Blake vehicle.

– George Corfee, 82, of Indiana Avenue, was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control after his eastbound vehicle on West Ninth Street attempted to stop and slid on the icy road, sliding out onto North Ellsworth Avenue and striking a vehicle driven by Donna Starcher, 59, of Elk Grove, Calif., who was northbound on Ellsworth. Her vehicle was pushed off of the road and ran over an “no parking” sign at 8:56 a.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.

– No citation was issued after a vehicle driven by Matthew Cochran, 25, of East Liverpool, lost control while traveling northwest on Franklin Avenue, going off the right side of the road and striking a curb, mailbox and front porch in the 600 block at 11:51 p.m. Thursday. No injury was reported. No citation was issued due to icy road conditions.

– An anonymous caller at 6:12 p.m. Thursday called for a well-being check in the 900 block of East Third Street, reporting a juvenile was possibly mistreated by a male at a local business. The juvenile appeared okay to police.

– A financial institution at 2401 E. State St. reported at 3:16 p.m. Thursday that a male customer caused a scene and made threats towards employees. The spokesman said the male became upset when he wasn’t able to complete a transaction due to negative funds in the account.

– A woman reported at 3:03 p.m. Thursday that she was receiving unwanted pre-recorded phone calls about serving a summons on a man who does not live there. The message gave a case and phone number. The incident is under investigation.

– A spokesman for Donnell called at 1:37 p.m. Thursday to inquire about an employee who had called off sick but had not been heard from since last Saturday. There was a concern for his medical condition. His last address was Canton, so an officer requested Jackson Township to check his last residence. He was then located in Salem in an apartment on the east end of town and was not in need of medical treatment. He was told to call his employer as soon as possible. Donnell was contacted.

– Lynne Fredo, of West South Range Road, reported at 7:28 a.m. Thursday that she works at Walmart and came out to find another vehicle had struck her vehicle in the parking lot, causing damage to the front door side fender. As a result, the driver’s side door wouldn’t open. Officers will attempt to review security video from the store.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Louis Tuttle, Old Monroeville Road, Salineville, reported at 9:14 a.m. Wednesday he was involved in an accident the night before and stayed elsewhere. When he returned he found someone had removed a Jet electric scooter, two microwaves, a small white refrigerator, a Remington .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a Remington .22 caliber rifle with scope, a DVD player and two laptop computers from his enclosed back porch and his bedroom.

– Horses were reported on the roadway on Augusta Road near Ridge Road at 8:24 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies checked the area, but did not find them.

– Kerry Beeson, KOA Campground, Winona Road, Salem, reported that on Tuesday night he noticed several bottles of wine missing from his home. The manager of the park told him she also was missing money from her home. The two went to another man’s trailer, believing he may be the person responsible and found an empty bottle of the wine taken was visible in the trash. The rest of the wine was found in the refrigerator. The man, Michael Perline, denied taking any of the items.

– Barb Kuder, Winona Road, Salem, the manager of the KOA Campground, reported a drunk man, Michael Perline, on the property at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday. She wanted him removed from the property and evicted. The legal eviction process was explained and deputies explained as long as he is drinking in his own residence there is no problem. He was told if he comes outside and causes a problem he could be arrested.

– John Galloway, Wyoming Avenue, East Liverpool, reported at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday a fiberglass cap for his 1998 Ford extended cab was stolen along with a stereo, both from a property on state Route 45 behind Glasgow Storage.

– Nick Voigt, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, reported at 2:44 p.m. Monday he went to a property his family owns on Taylor Road and found a red Ford extended cab pickup with three men on the property stealing scrap metal. Voigt blocked the driveway to keep them from exiting, but the three men in the Ford rammed his truck causing damage, exited the driveway and headed down Taylor Road toward Vale Road. He followed them onto Carmel-Achor Road before losing them.

– Carl Rhodes, Churchill Road, Lisbon, reported at 4:51 p.m. Wednesday his rear license plate from his pickup was lost or stolen.

– Calvin Lockard, Elizabeth Street, Hanoverton, reported at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday when he came home from work his neighbor told him a U-Haul had stopped in front of his home, two men got out and walked around his property. Nothing appeared missing.

– Amanda Davis reported at 8:14 a.m. Wednesday a resident of American Health Care, Jay Farrow, had left for a walk on Tuesday morning, but did not return in the evening as he usually does. After a missing person report was filled out, Davis found Farrow walking in Salem. He refused to go with Davis, who is his case worker. The Salem police were called.

Columbiana

– Brandon Hoschar, 19, of Washingtonville, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting the daughter of Scott and Tracie Duffield in Columbiana on Dec. 10.

– Lauri Hardenbrook, state Route 517, Columbiana, struck a deer Tuesday night while driving on Fairfield Avenue.

– Police were asked Wednesday by school officials to check on the welfare of a middle school student who resides on Springfield Road. The resident said the student was fine and that another student who had been suspended has since moved to another school district.

– Police assisted a county sheriff’s deputy in serving an arrest warrant on Michael Fowler on Vine Street at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Salem Township

– Vada Graham, Cherry Valley Drive, reported at 8 p.m. Wednesday a black Chevy Blazer with the writing “V Twin Motors” in the back window hooked something to a mailbox at a property she owns and pulled it out of the ground. Graham’s renter saw it happen and chased the truck down Butcher Road.

Perry Township

– No citations were issued after a two-vehicle accident at 7:31 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of South Lincoln and the bypass. A vehicle driven by Jami Virtue, 25, of Sebring, was stopped at the red light and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Lydia Bartholow, 66, of Lisbon. The report said she left the scene, but was contacted via telephone and said what happened. Virtue complained of a possible neck injury and said she would seek medical attention.

– Police responded at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a sick raccoon at Highland Creek Condominiums. The animal was euthanized.

– John E. Glasure, 50, of Carrollton, was cited for driving under medical suspension after a traffic stop at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday on the bypass. While there, Glasure requested an ambulance and KLG Ambulance arrived and treated him at the scene.

– No citation was issued after a vehicle driven by Daniel Bosak, 24, of Youngstown, ran off the road at the end of the bypass at Routes 62 and 14 at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday. He said he was unaware that the roadway ended. There was no damage to the vehicle, which was only stuck and was removed by Sinsley Towing.

– A Jennings Avenue resident at 3:11 p.m. Tuesday reported fraudulent charges on his bank statement. He said his bank was already aware and investigating.

Salem

– A West School Street man reported Wednesday he was receiving numerous text messages and had blocked the number, but was still receiving texts. He was told to call his provider.

– A person came to the police station at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday with a debit card found near the post office. The owner was contacted.

– A business on Salem Parkway reported Wednesday someone cut through the screen on a back window to gain entry overnight. Items removed were an old broken camera and a fake $1 million dollar note.

– An East Third man reported at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday he just received a call from an unknown male who claimed if he didn’t stop, he was coming to beat him up. The call came from an unknown number and he had no idea what the phone call was about. He tried to tell the male he had the wrong number, but the male said that was the number he was given. An officer called the number back but was advised by a female voice that she did not answer restricted calls.

– Police responded to East State and Broadway at 12:32 p.m. Wednesday. An officer found a man who had walked away from a group home in New Waterford earlier in the morning. He was located by a case worker but refused to go back with her to the residential facility. After several failed attempts and the fact that he had not been taking his needed medications, he was voluntarily transported to SRMC.

– A Quaker Circle business reported Wednesday someone broke in overnight. The lock was broken out on the front door to the office. Someone went through the building, various drawers and filing cabinets. Some locks were compromised. Nothing of value appeared to be missing.

Liverpool Township

– Officers were dispatched to Garner Avenue for a possible overdose, where they were advised by Lora Powell that her granddaughter, Tanya Powell, 25, had overdosed on heroin in the bathroom. Tri-County Ambulance was treating the younger woman, and the officer reported seeing a hypodermic needle and burnt spoon where she was sitting. Tanya Powell was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital and after being treated and released, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and taken to the county jail.

St. Clair Township

– Misty Tice, no address listed, reported being harassed by her ex-boyfriend via cell phone. She was advised to speak with the law director in regard to the matter.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– While working at the Southern Local boys basketball game Tuesday, deputies were notified of an assault in the girls restroom. Rebecca Farley, 18, reportedly was punched in the face by Lindsay West, 18. The assault was reportedly witnessed by a 17-year-old girl and all three of their statements were identical about what happened. West reportedly told deputies she came to the game with the intentions of punching Farley. It is unknown if Farley will pursue charges.

– Susan Robbie, state Route 517, Lisbon, reported a possible prowler at 5:14 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies checked the area and found only a dog running in the area. Robbie told deputies she fired a round from a gun and had not seen or heard anyone since.

– Hilda Boston, Spring Valley Road, Salineville, reported at 1:42 p.m. Tuesday someone stole three bundles of slab wood from the property.

– A woman reported at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday her 17-year-old daughter is receiving unwanted text messages from a couple of older men. They also followed her around in Alliance and at one point attempted to ram the rear of her vehicle with theirs. Deputies called both men and left messages for them to contact the sheriff’s office.

– A Wayne Township resident reported at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday he saw two men taking rope from an American Electric Power pole on Glasgow Roads. AEP had rope on the poles in order to pull new wire.

– James Whitehouse, Youngstown, asked deputies to check on his stepdaughter at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies spoke to the homeowner, Brandi Taublee, Kirk Road, who said Whitehouse’s stepdaughter, Kristine Ryhel, left Monday to live in Bellville.

Highway Patrol

– Sadie L. Murr, 23, of Sebring, was cited for failure to control after she went off the road and struck a guardrail while driving on state Route 14 in Salem Township at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

– Tammy S. Moore, 53, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, was stopped in traffic on St. Clair Avenue in St. Clair Township when her Hyundai Accent was struck in the rear by a F-150 pickup truck driven by Andrew G. Malekovic, 23, Purinton Avenue, East Liverpool. The accident occurred at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

– Clarence J.D. Felton, 16, state Route 164, Salineville, was cited for failure to control after he went off the road and into a ditch after striking a guardrail. The accident occurred on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 2:39 p.m. Tuesday.

Lisbon

– Mike Landis, Glasgow Road, Lisbon, reported Monday he paid $314 to a Lisbon business, Stover Powersports, to shrink-wrap his boat. This never occurred, and now there is water in his boat. The business refunded Landis the money and offered to still shrink-wrap his boat for free but then the check bounced. Police spoke with the businessman, who said he would repay Landis in cash and then inspect the boat with him to determine if there was any damage.

– Julie Grimes, Leslie Road, Rogers, was backing up in the Applegrove apartments parking lot on Monday when she struck a rock.

– Stephanie Murphy, West Washington Street, reported at 4:26 a.m. Tuesday being harassed via Facebook by Eric Collins, who was just fired from the Morning Journal, where she still works. Murphy alleges that Collins had two people pass the harassing messages along to her. She was advised to tell these people to leave her alone and and block them from Facebook. She was advised to call back if there were any further problems.

Columbiana

– A caller reported there was a vehicle with its interior light on parked at 1361 Heck Road at 4 a.m. Tuesday. Police arrived and found that the light had apparently been left on by accident and nothing was amiss.

– A school official asked police on Tuesday to check on a middle school student who lives on Springfield Road because he had not been coming to school and no one answered the house phone. No one was found home, and police left a message with a neighbor to have them call.

– An official at the Duke & Duchess reported Tuesday they have been receiving complaints about a homeless woman who sleeps on their sidewalk and leaves her belongings around. Police checked the area but did not find the woman.

– A woman who lives in the Camelot Drive apartments reported at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday a female teenager has been harassing her daughter. She said the harasser was in a parked silver Pontiac in the parking lot and would not leave.

East Palestine

– Bruno Chick reported he was following a red Silverado into town from Negley just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. When they stopped for the light at Main Street, the pickup truck’s driver got out, walked up to Chick’s vehicle and pointed a gun at him. The driver then told Chick to get his headlight fixed, returned to his truck and left. Police checked around town but did not find the truck.

East Liverpool

– Alonzo B. Claybrook, 25, Imperial Drive, was cited for OVI Tuesday night after he reportedly turned north from Garner Avenue onto St. Clair Avenue, striking a southbound vehicle driven by Kimberly J. Wilson, 43, West Seventh Street. Wilson was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by Tri-County ambulance.

– While attempting to merge into traffic on state Route 11 at the cloverleaf, a vehicle driven by Donna K. Verzella, 77, Main Street, Wellsville, was reportedly rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Rachel L. Davis, 28, Silliman Street, New Waterford. The impact caused minor damage to both vehicles, but there were no injuries or charges.

St. Clair Township

– Benjamin A. Persohn, 34, Stewart Road, Wellsville, was charged Tuesday with criminal trespass, petty theft and possession of criminal tools after being found in Walmart where he is on the store’s trespass list. When police patted down Persohn, half of a ham fell out of his jacket, and they found stolen steaks in his vehicle. He also was served with two warrants.

Salem

– An officer on patrol at 10:41 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue was flagged down by a man who could not remember where he left his Chevy truck last week. He believed he left it somewhere in Salem or Alliance. He was told to look where he believed he left it and if not found, to call the sheriff’s office since he lives in their jurisdiction. He later called police and said he found the vehicle on Aetna Street.

– Someone at 8:29 p.m. Tuesday dropped off a debit card found in the city. The owner was contacted to pick it up.

– A man at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday dropped off a debit card found in an ATM at Huntington Bank. An attempt will be made to contact the owner.

– An officer was stopped at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday by a woman who wanted to make police aware of suspicious activity and the times it was occurring. The officer said he would check the area in question and pass the information to the county drug task force.

– Police were called at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday to McDonald’s for a fight. A couple had been arguing, but said no physical altercation took place. Both were told to leave.

– Someone at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday dropped off a wallet found in a parking lot in the 100 block of North Ellsworth. An attempt will be made to contact the owner.

– Officers responded at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday to an apartment in the 500 block of East Third wgere a man suffereda severe laceration on his right hand while preparing a meal. He was taken to SRMC.

– Police were called at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of North Lincoln to check the well-being of a boy who was possibly thrown out of the house in the rain with no shirt on. An officer spoke with the boy and his father. The boy said he ran out of the house in the rain without his shirt on to get a bag of ice from the vehicle. He said his father threw a shirt out the door for him. There were no signs of violence or other problems.

– Officers responded at 4 p.m. Tuesday to a duplex in the 1400 block of South Lincoln for a report of a suspicious person possibly trespassing. Nothing untoward was found.

Leetonia

– Police responded to a report of possible vandalism in the Leetonia school parking lot at 7:33 a.m. Dec. 6.

– Police responded to a verbal dispute in the 400 block of Columbia Street at 9:38 p.m. Dec. 9.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Rachel Lamp, Versailles, Ky., reported on Nov. 28 someone stole tires and rims from a Jeep in a driveway on Foundry Hill Road, Salineville. Monday, Lamp called stating she located her tires and asked about the status of the case.

– Angela Veglia, Dyke Road, Negley, reported at 1:58 a.m. Tuesday Glenn Collins threatened her and pulled into her driveway. Deputies checked the area, but did not find him.

– Deputies assisted the Ohio Department of Natural Resources looking for an unknown person reportedly yelling for help in the Lake Zeppernick area at 4:39 p.m. Monday. No one was located.

– A possible domestic dispute was reported on Hunter Camp Road, Lisbon, at 3:47 a.m. Monday. A 17-year-old girl ran toward the cruiser acting hysterical when deputies arrived, followed by her father. The father told deputies he just learned his daughter was having sex with a 25-year-old man. He just told the man to stay away from her, then went home and threw the girl’s belongings from her room out the window.

– JoAnn Martin, Spillway Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:57 p.m. Monday there was a dispute between two adult brothers. Larry and Shanel Phyllis rent the trailer at the address and in June they allowed Larry’s brother Tim to move in along with his girlfriend, Martin, and her two children. According to Tim, everytime Larry drinks he wants to throw them out. On Monday there was a dispute over another family member coming over. Deputies explained the proper procedure for evicting people.

– Lindsey Hartt, no address listed, reported at 2:17 p.m. Monday Joshua Killing was assaulted by Corey Ozenghar, the boyfriend of Killing’s sister. Then Ozenghar reported Killing shot at him with a shotgun. Killing denied having his gun out or shooting it on Monday. He eventually allowed deputies to check the guns in his bedroom. A Remington 870 20-gauge shotgun was confiscated. Deputies also found a place where it appeared a gun was fired into the ground with a wad from the shotgun shell located there. The matter is under investigation. Killing was transported by EMT Ambulance complaining of neck and back pain from his injuries.

Highway Patrol

– Michael A. Dattilio, 55, Columbia Street, Leetonia, was eastbound on state Route 344 in Fairfield Township at 6:15 p.m. Thursday and hit a deer.

– Justin L. Stryffeler, 27, Hartley Road, Salem, was southbound on McCann Road in Butler Township at 11 p.m. Friday and went off the left side into a ditch, a mailbox and a house. He was cited for failure to control and OVI and taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Walter L. Barnett, 35, County Highway 47, Toronto, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 6:15 p.m. Saturday and hit some debris in the road causing damage to his vehicle.

– Heather L. Bable, 36, Hamilton Road, East Palestine, was southbound on Adams Road in Unity Township at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

– Linda J. Kridler, 61, 5th Street, Columbiana, was eastbound on state Route 558 in Salem Township at 4:15 p.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

Lisbon

– Tyler T. Joy, 36, Harvard Avenue, East Liverpool, was charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into the occupied apartment of Tina Spann, Apple Grove Apartments on Monday. Joy entered the apartment without Spann’s knowledge and remained there after she left.

– Kay McMillan, West High Street, reported there was a possible structure fire in the vicinity of North Beaver Street at 7:38 p.m. Sunday. Police discovered the source of the illumination were flickering Christmas tree lights in a window.

– Scott M. Bryan showed up at the police station at 8 p.m. Sunday to report getting into an argument with the mother of his children, Shelly Burt of Moore Street, when he brought up the issue of visitation over Christmas. He alleged that Burt struck him two to three times in the face. Bryan declined to pursue domestic violence charges, however.

-A staff member at the Kendall House reported last Friday night a 50-year-old resident had left after becoming upset while speaking with someone on the phone and told her she was going to walk to Youngstown. The woman had left earlier in the day for about an hour before leaving again. The staff member said the woman has a history of drug abuse and was not thinking clearly. She said the woman also was due to take her medication.

– Pauline Gauntt, East Chestnut Street, reported hearing footsteps and voices outside her home at 11:20 p.m. Friday. Police checked around the house but did not find anyone about or anything amiss.

– A caller reported there is a male and female going door to door on Green and Morton streets asking for a ride 9:51 a.m. Sunday. Police checked the area but did not come across the couple.

– Police provided backup for a sheriff’s deputy called to a domestic dispute at the Roseland apartments on Rose Drive at 12:40 p.m. Sunday. There were no further problems, so the officer and deputy left.

– A clerk at the Valley View reported at 10:26 p.m. Saturday a motorist driving a white older model Jeep left without paying for $5 in gas. The clerk called back to report it was her mistake and to disregard her initial call.

Columbiana

– Park manager Terry Shaffer reported at 11 a.m. Monday a sign was stolen from Firestone Park.

– A West Park Avenue man reported at 12:53 p.m. Monday he received a threat from his son who was threatening suicide.

– A school crossing guard reported at 2:52 p.m. Monday there was a mentally disturbed man near the elementary school trying to get a ride home. Police checked but the man already left the area.

– Zachary Davis, 18, of Columbiana, was arrested for assault at 7:17 p.m. Monday on Wind Rose Court after a woman reported he assaulted her. He was taken to the county jail.

East Palestine

– A NAPA employee reported at 2:48 p.m. Monday two bad checks were written by Roy Moffett III.

Salem Township

– Karra Graeser, state Route 164, reported buying a watch online during Cyber Monday but never received it. She contacted the post office which confirmed it was delivered on Dec. 5. Graeser said the watch cost $313.90 but she got half off for buying it that day. The company is now out of stock and she can’t get one for that $156.95 price either.

Perry Township

– Police responded to the 300 block of Stewart Road for a welfare check on a woman after a third party caller advised of possible threatening text messages and asked police to check on her at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday. The woman told police she and her brother were arguing. An officer viewed the text messages and determined they were not threatening in nature. The man also said they were arguing. Both were advised to cease contact.

– Joshua Seeley, 30, 1133 Prospect St., was taken into custody at 7:54 p.m. Monday at Salem Acres apartment complex on a warrant out of Cuyahoga County.

– Tyler Hayes, 22, of state Route 45, Lisbon, hit a deer on Cunningham Road at 6:37 p.m. Monday.

– A man in the 1400 block of Benton Road reported at 9:53 a.m. Monday property owners adjacent to his property posted “no trespassing” signs along the boundary lines. He claimed the signs were not marked properly and were on his property. He was told it’s a civil matter.

Sazlem

– Virginia Brendlinger, East Third Street, reported Tuesday her son’s bicycle was stolen from the yard a couple of nights ago.

– Police were called to the post office on Penn Avenue at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday for a man who had a medical problem. The man verified that he did not need an ambulance.

– Police were called at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday for an intoxicated driver on West State Street. The vehicle, a green pickup, was seen on East State at Broadway and Lundy and appeared to be operating fine, then was lost in heavy traffic.

– A disturbed person was reported in the 400 block of East Second Street at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday. Police found the man complaining about what he saw involving people with a pole at a church. He said he didn’t say anything about someone in the bushes. All appeared to be fine.

– A man from West Perry Street reported Tuesday he lost his wallet at Circle K West on Sunday. He said he remembered leaving the wallet near the cash register. An officer checked the store security video which clearly showed the man leaving with his wallet..

– Police responded at 3:02 a.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of West Eighth Street for an unwanted person. The man was given a ride to a relative’s home.

– Police were dispatched at 2:53 a.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of North Lundy Avenue. Witnesses said a dark-colored sedan sideswiped a red Dodge Neon legally parked on the street. The suspect vehicle struck a “no parking” sign and fled the scene, but was then located on the same block. Police made contact with the registered owner, but no driver came forward. The vehicle was towed, with the incident under investigation.

– Andrew Duko, Vine Avenue, reported at 10:11 p.m. Monday someone broke into his apartment and stole money, TV and DVDs. The door appeared to have been tampered with.

– Police responded to Walmart at 7:59 p.m. Monday for a reported stolen vehicle described as a silver Jeep Liberty. Police saw the vehicle and checked the registration which came back to the caller. She had already located the vehicle with assistance from a Salvation Army volunteer.

– Police were called at 7:27 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of East Fifth Street for a theft report. A man said he gave two stereos to another male because he needed them for Christmas presents. He didn’t believe the stereos were going to be used for that purpose. Officers spoke to the male who said the man gave him the stereos and he was to give him money in January. The man was told it’s a civil matter.

– A Jennings Avenue man reported at 6:41 p.m. Monday an unknown woman came over and handed him a letter addressed to his daughter. He told the woman she lived elsewhere and she became rude with him. He didn’t know what was in it. The envelope was opened and contained a civil court document for his daughter out of Comanche County, Oklahoma. He was forwarding it to the family attorney.

– An anonymous caller Monday reported seeing someone with a warrant at Walmart Friday. The caller was told to call police as soon as possible if he sees the person again.

– Doreen Bennings, Southeast Boulevard, reported at 5:58 p.m. Monday someone tried to break in. She found a screen from a window pushed in and the window open. She also found several flower pots at the front door knocked over.

– An officer was dispatched at 5:14 p.m. Monday to observe the lighted sign at Donnell Ford off East State for any violations. The report said it appeared the brightness of the sign and the flashing causes a distraction for motorists. The zoning officer will be advised of the police officer’s observations. The police officer advised the manager of Donnell of the complaint, which was filed by the city planning and zoning office.

– Braycen Shelton, 19, of North 13th Street, Sebring, was cited for assured clear distance after she rear-ended one driven by Matthew Faulkiner, 24, Deming Street, who was stopped for traffic before turning from West State north onto Ellsworth. The crash occurred at 5:09 p.m. Monday.

– Police responded to a business in the Salem Plaza at 4:12 p.m. Monday for a counterfeit $5 bill. The incident occurred two days before.

– A girl and her mother on Cleveland Street reported Monday their silver Nissan Altima was struck in the right front fender while parked at the high school.

– An attempted suicide was reported at 11:22 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of Homewood Avenue where officers made entry into a home and found the person in the bathroom. He did not harm himself and was taken voluntarily to SRMC for evaluation.

St. Clair Township

– Officers were called to Walmart by loss prevention personnel, who reported Joshualee B. Hackney, 34, no address listed, was in the store, trying to steal magic cards again. Hackney had been caught stealing in the Calcutta and Steubenville stores previously and also had been seen numerous times stealing items but evaded police each time. When they arrived, officers reported finding Hackney with a shopping cart filled with magic cards, but he said he planned to put them back on the shelves. He had no money. When advised he was being charged with criminal trespass, Hackney complained that officers had “nothing better to do than pick on veterans.” He was charged with criminal trespass.

– Jessy L. Goodwin, 35, no address listed, was charged with criminal damaging and petty theft after Walmart officials reported he removed a security wire from a 47-inch television in an attempt to steal it, damaging the TV and destroying the alarm in the process. The next day, Goodwin reportedly entered the store and selected items which he took into the restroom, where he opened and concealed football cards, flushing their wrappers down the toilet.

– Officers responded to Cricket Lane for a fight and were told by Shayne Kosek he was in an argument with his live-in partner Hollie Reese that turned into a physical confrontation, during which she punched him in the face. Both declined to file charges.

– Kylee R. Zoellers, no address listed, reported her wallet stolen while shopping.

– North Star Critical Care ambulance personnel called officers to an Annesley Road residence where a 15-year-old boy was found intoxicated and passed out in the shower. The boy’s father was called and he asked that his son be transported to the emergency room.

– David Brown Jr., age and address not listed, reported he was delivering pizza to an Annesley Road home when two large dogs came after him in an aggressive manner. One of the dogs bit and flattened the tire on Brown’s vehicle, causing it to be towed by Calcutta Towing. Property owner Melissa Ditri told officers she thought her son had secured the dogs prior to Brown’s arrival and said she would contact his employer. Officers reported the property was posted with signs warning of attack dogs on the premises.

– Officers responded to a Cricket Lane residence where Timothy A. Gillespie, 51 and Mishelle D. Gillespie, 48, both claimed to have been the victim of domestic violence at the hands of the other. Each refused to file charges.

– Officers responded to an Irish Ridge HOME for a report of a man shooting at another vehicle. After speaking to both parties, officers advised them how to file charges if they wished to do so.

– Lisa Thompson, Melbourne Avenue, reported she had her oil tank filled with 284 gallons of fuel oil and three days later the tank was empty. There was no sign of leakage around the tank.

Salineville

– Trisha Sattler called at 10:15 a.m. Monday to report her roommate, Cassandra Manley, for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Sattler’s vehicle was seized earlier in the day by the highway patrol for a possible OVI involving Manley. An officer advised Sattler that charges could not be filed because Sattler gave Manley permission to use the vehicle that day, and was advised to contact the prosecutor to see if charges would be filed.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– A mother concerned about her son possibly harming himself with a shotgun called the sheriff’s office Monday afternoon. According to Sheriff Ray Stone, the mother said the son was in Hanoverton near the bowling alley, but he then traveled to Franklin Square and Columbiana while deputies were searching for him. Stone said the son reportedly left the gun in a vehicle and went into the Columbiana police station where he talked to city police. Deputies had no contact with him.

– Darlene Cope, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 1:11 p.m. Friday she is divorced from Mark Cope and they own a house together Steubenville Pike. Mark Cope had allowed someone to live in the house and fix it up in exchange for rent, but Thursday he had gone to the house to check on it and found the person living there was gone. The copper plumbing was also missing from the basement, along with the refrigerator and other household items.

– Emily Berger, Hartley Road, Salem, reported at 11:24 p.m. Sunday a suspicious vehicle was parked at Berger Electric, U.S. Route 62, Salem. Deputies found a vehicle with a flat tire, unsecured and a Winona Fire Department helmet inside. A chain was locked blocking the driveway indicating the vehicle was purposely placed there.

– Siera Ream at Barnett’s Motel, Salem, reported at 2:22 a.m. Sunday someone was arguing at the hotel. Deputies spoke to a couple, who said they argued a little bit and her mother was coming to get her.

– Paul Redman, no address listed, reported an abandoned vehicle in Franklin Square at 2:21 a.m. Sunday. Deputies found a Chevy Cavalier under the train bridge with the passenger window broken out. There were no plates or identification inside the vehicle. The VIN number had nothing on file. A note on the vehicle said it had died and someone would be back to get it on Monday. Deputies called the phone number on the note, but there was no voice mail set up, so the vehicle was towed.

– Robert Clewell, Clewell Drive, Lisbon, reported at 2:55 p.m. Sunday $860 was stolen from his bank account in a charge to the Frola Hotel, which he did not make. While filling out the statement, Clewell complained he did not think dispatchers like him and that he believes it is unconstitutional for him not be allowed on his own property after one of his tenants filed a protection order against him. He fell asleep while writing out his statement. He was awakened and told he is not allowed to sleep there.

– Someone reported someone taking railroad ties along the railroad right of way on Low Road and Lusk Lock Road at 11:04 a.m. Thursday. Deputies did not find anyone in the area.

– Mark Feezle, Miller Road, Leetonia, reported at 9:47 a.m. Thursday someone stole his wallet from his vehicle overnight. The wallet contained $40, credit cards and his ID. There was also change missing from the cup holder.

– Jerry Powell, King Road, Salem, reported at 12:04 p.m. Thursday there was an open door at a Tower Road home. Deputies found the door had been left open and it appeared someone may be removing items from the house.

– John M. Krotky, 38, Garfield Avenue, was cited for OVI and speeding after a traffic stop on state Route 517 at 5:52 p.m. Saturday.

East Palestine

– Christopher Juillerat, West Clark Street, reported at 12:56 p.m. Monday a toy box that was shipped to his home was stolen.

– Police responded to a 911 call at 2:25 a.m. Monday that a van was stopped in the middle of North Market Street near Hamilton Street and the occupants were arguing.

– Police went to 541 W. Martin St. at 7:56 P.M. Sunday for a report of a domestic dispute. Cynthia L. White’s juvenile daughter was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Tobin Center.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 2:10 a.m. Sunday there was some type of disturbance at Shellabella’s restaurant. Police found a man who was upset and had left a car parked on the street and found another way home.

– Ronald Krupa, Fairfield School Road, reported at 1:14 p.m. Sunday his garage was broken into.

– Kevin Knoch, address not listed, reported at 2:45 p.m. Sunday someone keeps going in and turning the water on at his home and he doesn’t know who it is.

– A woman reported at 3:15 p.m. Sunday a car was parked illegally by the traffic circle. Police checked and found the car was legally parked.

– Derek Schorejs, Court Street, reported at 7 p.m. Sunday someone stole something from his home.

– Ron Hall, North Pearl Street, reported at 7:10 p.m. Sunday a woman attempted to remove a nativity scene from his yard.

East Liverpool

– An officer reported seeing a man leave a home on Fairview Street who was having trouble walking and appeared highly intoxicated. When he approached the man, the officer said he had a white plastic baggie in his mouth. The officer had to grab the man’s jaw in an attempt to keep him from swallowing the suspected crack cocaine, and the man began hitting the officer repeatedly. They fell to the ground, and the man spit out the baggie. He was identified as Bryan D. Jeffries, 26, West Seventh Street, who was charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. The next night, the same officer reported seeing a woman enter the same house and then exit, again with an item in her mouth when he approached her. When she was told to spit out the item, the woman turned away and tried to walk away from the officer, also trying to swallow the item. The officer reported she became combative and began clawing at him, drawing blood, but she managed to swallow what he suspected was crack cocaine. The woman was identified as Bridget N. McKinnon, 28, North Street, who was charged with obstructing official business and assault.

– While conducting a search warrant on Lincoln Avenue Friday afternoon, officers said Matthew R. Young, 18, Lisbon Street, gave differing accounts about the ownership of a pneumatic nail gun that was “likely stolen.” Young was charged with obstructing official business.

– Lucas J. Fitch, 35, Ogden Street, was charged Friday with disorderly conduct/intoxication after he reportedly called the 911 emergency line demanding an officer respond to the Cove Lounge but refused to say why. He was found standing in the parking lot, highly intoxicated and was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication after he became verbal and disrespectful.

Liverpool Township

– An officer was called to a suspicious vehicle on Owens Road with two men inside Friday afternoon. The officer reported finding Russell D. Lightner, 35, Foundry Hill Road, Salineville, inside the vehicle, where he also saw syringes and a burnt spoon on the passenger side floor. Lightner told the officer the syringes belonged to another man. Lightner was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, and officers learned he had an outstanding warrant.

Perry Township

– Police received a call at 9:30 p.m. Saturday regarding a suspicious person dressed in dark clothing jumping in front of cars in the area of U.S. Route 62 near East Pine Lake Road. Nobody was found.

– A property owner in the 400 block of Georgetown Road reported at 6:51 p.m. Saturday that a suspicious vehicle was stuck in his field with two occupants. The two said they were permitted on the adjoining property but failed to stay on the other side of the property line and became stuck. The property owner responded to pull them out. They agreed to work out any damage to the property.

– While investigating a theft report at 10:33 a.m. Saturday at a West Pershing Street address, police learned James McVay, 31, of Lisbon, had a warrant out of Trumbull County. He was taken into custody.

– Police were called at 10:05 a.m. Saturday to the 1800 block of state Route 9 where a witness reported seeing two males in a blue pickup taking cast iron pipes from a Salem water department work site.

– Robert Zanni of Salem was cited for reasonable control after police said he traveled north on Jennings Avenue at 3:50 a.m. Friday and swerved to miss a deer, traveling into the ditch.

Salem

– A Ohio Avenue woman reported at 10:29 p.m. Sunday her juvenile sister left her purse in a fitting room at Walmart and when they returned for it, the girl’s phone and money were gone.

– A Homewood Avenue man came to the station at 8:29 p.m. Sunday to speak with an officer about getting his personal property from a home in the city. He was told his options.

– A domestic was reported at 7:51 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Arch Street. Officers spoke with a person involved who said it was a verbal dispute between a father and juvenile daughter. Options were given.

– A suspicious man was reported at 7:41 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of East Third Street. A property owner said the man came to his house three times Sunday and asked to use his phone. He let him use it, but didn’t want him coming back. He was described as wearing an orange sweatshirt and blue pajamas. Officers found the person on East Third Street near Hawley and told him not to return or he could face criminal charges.

– Police were dispatched at 5:57 p.m. Sunday to East State Street and Highland Avenue for a motor vehicle accident, but found no accident. A red Sedan was seen leaving a parking lot in the 1100 block of East State Street and the officer made contact with the driver, learning she struck the rear of a silver SUV on State Street near Highland. The driver of the other vehicle left. The driver of the sedan reported there was no damage to the other vehicle because she struck the hitch.

– A clerk at Smith Oil on East State reported at 3:22 p.m. Sunday a person swiped through a credit card, but it didn’t take and they left with $31.97 worth of fuel. A note was left for the driver to call police.

– Shirley Barnes, South Lincoln Avenue, reported at 10:52 a.m. Sunday she was stopped on Lincoln waiting to turn left onto Southeast Boulevard when a maroon Pontiac Grand Prix with a blue hood struck the left rear bumper of her vehicle and left.

– A credit/debit card was left in the ATM at Consumers Bank and turned over to police at 9:46 a.m. Sunday. It was placed in the police lost and found.

Goshen Police District

– Police responded to a sex offense report in the 7000 block of Middletown Road at 10:58 a.m. Nov. 24.

– A girl at West Branch Middle School reported Nov. 25 a boy had touched her breast after being dared by another student.

– A man reported Nov. 27 his daughter’s iPhone was stolen while at West Branch High School.

– A Lisbon Road woman reported at 5:47 p.m. Dec. 2 that a man by the name of Richard Negrea used her Verizon log-in to purchase himself a phone.

– Darla Grindley, 70, 11414 Island Creek Drive, Beloit, was cited for right of way at a public highway. She pulled out of the West Branch Middle School drive and struck a vehicle driven by Kara A. Vanhorn, 24, Sebring.

– Warren E. Newhouse, 21, 7458 S. Pricetown Road, Berlin Center, was cited for failure to control after wrecked on state Route 534 in Goshen Township at 7:59 a.m. Dec. 6.

– Jessica Barrick, Lowmiller Road, Minerva, reported at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday sometime within the past two weeks someone stole two bare aluminum 76-inch tandem axle trailer fenders from their property.

– Judy Soloman, Salem Unity Road, Salem, reported at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday someone was possibly in the process of burglarizing a vacant house they are remodeling on state Route 45 in Salem Township. Deputies searched the house and found someone has been sleeping in the upstairs bedroom, but they fled before deputies arrived.

– Samuel Watson, Scott Drive, Alliance, reported at 11:01 p.m. Wednesday three people broke into his trailer while he was home and escaped through a window in the hallway. Deputies found Watson appeared confused and the window was locked. After speaking with neighbors about Watson’s past medical history, an ambulance was called and he was taken to the Alliance Community Hospital.

– Jerry Powell, King Road, Salem, reported at 12:04 p.m. Thursday there was an open door at a Tower Road home. Deputies found it appeared the front door had been left open and someone may have been removing items from inside.

Highway Patrol

– Adam Jacob Taucher, 19, King Road, Salem, was westbound on Eagleton Road in Center Township at 2:40 p.m. Thursday and slid off the right side into an electrical pole and a fence. He was cited for failure to control.

– Steven R. Hutmacher, 52, Township Road 290, Hammondsville, was westbound on state Route 644 in Hanover Township at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and hit a deer.

– Kreso Cuturic, 40, Cleveland, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 3:25 p.m. Friday and struck Karen J. Meek, 72, state Route 7, New Waterford, who failed to yield from a private drive. Meek was cited for right of way.

East Palestine

– A Fullers True Value Hardware employee reported at noon Thursday a shoplifter left in a black four-wheel drive truck.

Columbiana

– An Old North woman reported at 11:54 a.m. Thursday she received a scam phone call.

– Lance Felger, 33, West Salem Street, Columbiana, was northbound on South Main Street at noon Thursday and approaching the traffic circle and rear-ended Katherine S. Wolfe, 70, Reckenberger Road, Columbiana. Felger was cited for assured clear distance.

– A woman reported at 1 p.m. Thursday a man carrying a shotgun entered the Gold and Silver coin shop at 246 E. Park Ave. Police found the man was there to have the gun appraised.

– Police checked on a dog at 526 N. Main St. at 2:24 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report it was left there alone after the residents moved out. The dog was found to have proper shelter and food and the homeowner was on site.

– Tracie Yardwood reported identity theft at 5:35 p.m. Thursday.

Salem

– Vessie L. Ward, Washington Avenue, Salem, reported at 2:46 p.m. Thursday that Mike Hamilton was taking items from her apartment and pawning them and that she wanted him to stop and stay away.

– An officer responded to a reported fight in the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 3:05 p.m. Thursday and found two eighth-grade girls had been fighting on the way home from school. Their stories did not match and the officer told them the matter would be turned over to the school principal.

– Robert M. Roth, 80, 1129 W. Perry St. 204, Salem, was cited for failure to yield following a two-vehicle crash at South Ellsworth and Franklin avenues at 4:52 p.m. Thursday in which he was westbound on Franklin and attempted to turn left onto South Ellsworth, striking a southbound vehicle driven by Doris M. Senior, 60, Salem, who was attempting a left turn. No injuries were reported.

– Suzanne Darcy, Benton Road, Salem, reported on station at 5:19 p.m. Thursday receiving multiple phone calls at a West State Street location from a restricted number.

– An officer responded to a report of an irate person in need of an ambulance in the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 6:09 p.m. Thursday. The person was found to be calmed down and was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

– Scott A. Mason, 44, 1026 Franklin Ave., Salem, was charged with domestic violence after officers responded to his home at 10:27 p.m. Thursday where he had allegedly been in a physical altercation with his son, who suffered visible injuries.

– Officers responded to a reported medical problem at a Lexington Avenue home at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, but found no one home. The manager of the complex was contacted and a note left for the resident.

– Linda A. Schuster, 72, Salem, was eastbound on Sugar Tree Alley at 11:23 a.m. Friday and attempted a right turn onto North Broadway Avenue when she struck a steel pole surrounding a utility pole. No citation was issued.

– Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at 2210 Edgewood Drive at 1:29 p.m. Friday and found a fire in the engine compartment of a truck removing leaves from in front of business. The fire was extinguished with tank water. Firefighters cleared the scene at 1:43 p.m.

County Sheriff

– Kyle Holloway, Brookfield, Lisbon, reported at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday sometime overnight someone loosened all eight of the lug nuts on the driver side rear tire of his vehicle. He was driving and could feel something wrong.

– Jeramiah Bailey, state Route 170, Rogers, reported at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday he has an agreement with his brother, Mark Bailey, which includes his brother making mortgage payments with rental money he collects. However Jeramiah Bailey said he just learned his brother is six months past due on the mortgage and has kept $3,600. Additionally, a mutual friend was repaid $150 with a ladder, which actually belongs to Jeramiah Bailey. He is also missing a sawsall.

Lisbon

-A pickup truck being driven by Brandon L. Barnes, Churchill Road, Lisbon, was struck with a tire that came off a van belonging to JBS Feed Supply Ltd. of Millersburg and driven by Joshua Searbrook of Boardman. The accident occurred while the vehicles were traveling in the opposite directions on state Route 154 at 3:31 p.m. Monday.

Columbiana

– Cecilia Barnhart reported at 4:56 p.m. Wednesday someone took Willis Barnhart’s car without consent.

– A woman reported at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday a van had been sitting in the Rite Aid parking lot for about 15 minutes and there were two men wearing hoods and they looked suspicious. Police checked and found they were waiting for their prescription to be filled.

– Scott and Tracie Duffield reported at 7 p.m. Wednesday someone had possibly assaulted their underage daughter.

East Liverpool

– While on patrol Thursday, an officer saw a vehicle parked against the flow of traffic in a known drug location, then saw it pull out without a turn signal. It was stopped on Mulberry Street, and the driver, Robert A. Ibbs, no age or address listed, was cited for the turn signal violation. His passenger, Leslie A. Elkins, 48, Blossom Avenue, Newell, W.Va., was found to have an outstanding warrant, and during processing was found to have a suspected marijuana cigarette in her possession. She was charged with possession of marijuana.

– Zena Shreve reported she traveled to Michigan with her juvenile son, where he stayed overnight with friends but never returned. He is being listed as a runaway/missing person at this time, and Shreve, who told police she has had trouble with her son in the past, was advised to contact Juvenile Court about filing unruly charges.

– Autumn Sechrist, Oakwood Street, reported that, after being incarcerated, she returned home to find all her belongings had been cleaned out.

– James W. Ramsey, Pennsylvania Avenue, reported the gas tank stolen from his Jeep.

– Nick Cavucci reported the theft of forks from a backhoe at the work site on Second Street. A surveillance video from a nearby business showed someone exiting a red pickup and loading the forks into the truck.

– Robert L. May, Jackson Street, reported he had a girl at his house whose identity he didn’t know and he later found $65 missing from his pants pocket.

– Joe Newlin, no address listed, reported leaving $1,471 in cash lying on the counter at the Auto Zone store and, when he realized it and returned, was told a woman had called, frantically saying she had left her money and was sending a man to pick it up. The man, Joshua Jackson, no address listed, did pick up the money, according to reports. When contacted by officers, Jackson was irate and said “he’d be damned if he’d be called a liar or a thief,” according to reports. He was advised detectives would be coming to speak to him to allow him to clear his good name, officers reported. Newlin later called to say he had retrieved his cash from Jackson.

– Alissa Gill, St. Clair Avenue, reported her car broken into and an envelope containing $100 taken.

– Kristin Komar, Lincoln Avenue, reported a brick thrown at her windshield, cracking it, possibly by a person known.

– Amanda Guy reported the washer and dryer taken from her former residence at Eutaw Avenue after a landlord/tenant dispute. The items were from Rent-A-Center.

– Christine Douglass, Cain Street, reported her dogs became violently ill and she found turkey legs thrown into her fenced yard, leading her to believe the dogs were poisoned.

– Jessica Garcia reported a house her father owns on Avondale Street had been entered and blood found on the floor. Nothing appeared to be missing.

– Mark A. Collins, Anderson Boulevard, reported finding the gas cap removed from his Jeep.

– A car was reported sitting on the railroad tracks near Mulberry Street, and First Class Towing removed it from the tracks and Tice’s Towing towed it for the owner.

– Due to recent breakings and enterings in the area, an officer stopped two men walking in the West Ninth Street area. One, Justin Barrett, 30, had an outstanding warrant and was transported to the county jail. The other, Chachi Peddicord, no age or address listed, was released.

St. Clair Township

– Joshualee B. Hackney, 34, 18th Street, Wellsville, was charged with criminal trespass Tuesday after being found in Walmart, where he is on the no trespass list.

Salem

– A reckless operator was reported at 6:14 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West State Street. An officer located the vehicle, but did not see any violations.

– An employee of Shear’s Laundromat on West State Street flagged down an officer at 3:58 a.m. Thursday to report a man sleeping inside the business. The employee wanted him removed. Contact was made with the man who was intoxicated. He was transported to a friend’s residence on Jennings Avenue.

-Taylor Sullivan, 21, of 39050 state Route 517, Lisbon, was cited for possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 2:49 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of South Lincoln Avenue. She received a warning for the traffic violation, but was cited with a minor misdemeanor after the officer found marijuana drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

– Police responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday for a report of harassment. A resident reported a male known to him tried to run him off the road in a vehicle due to an earlier argument. An officer made contact with the other person who denied any wrongdoing. He was told to avoid contact with the resident.

– A man reported at 8:42 p.m. Wednesday that he was driving in the 1900 block of Southeast Boulevard when his vehicle was hit with an egg thrown from another vehicle. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the other vehicle.

– Officers responded at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday to North Union Avenue and checked the length of the street and cross streets for a a male in dark clothing walking in the street. Nobody was found.

– Police responded at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday to the 900 block of East Third Street for a report of an assault. A woman said she was involved in a domestic dispute earlier in the evening in a vehicle on 10th Street. She and her husband were arguing in the vehicle and he struck her. She requested medical assistance and KLG and fire department first responders reported to the scene. She was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center. The case is under investigation.

– An anonymous caller at 5:14 p.m. Wednesday reported a residential alarm in the 900 block of Franklin Avenue. Police checked the residence and found the back door unlocked and a large dog running around inside that seemed unfriendly. There did not appear to be anyone inside. Officers secured the door and left.

– A reckless operator in a white Honda Civic was reported at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday at North Ellsworth Avenue and East Second Street. An anonymous caller said there was an exchange of words between the driver and another person regarding the reckless driving. No disturbance was found and no vehicles matching the description were found.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday that someone driving a green possible older model station wagon drove off without paying for $20.40 worth of gas.

– A person in the 2900 block of East State Street at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday reported being threatened by a male earlier in the day.

– A woman on East Sixth Street reported at 4:11 p.m. Wednesday that a male known to her won’t stop contacting her even after she requested he stop. She was told options.

– A woman in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday that she lost some property between her doctor’s office and home.

Perry Township

– After learning of a warrant, police responded at 11:23 p.m. Wednesday to Salem Acres and took Joseph Messenger, 22, of 1133 Prospect St., into custody on the warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to a prearranged location and turned over to a deputy.

– Neal Carnes, of New Garden Road, reported at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday that someone threw an egg on his pickup while he was traveling south on state Route 9. The suspect’s vehicle was northbound on Route 9 at the city limits. There was no damage to the vehicle except a broken egg to wash off.

– A resident on Depot Road reported at 7 p.m. Wednesday that unknown persons were calling and threatening to damage her property over an amount of money allegedly offered and the amount paid for returning her lost property. Attempts were made to contact the threatening party, but were unsuccessful at the time of the report.

– People came to the station at 5:07 p.m. Wednesday to file a report about interference with custody of a child. Police spoke with both parties and a grandparent to arrange an exchange and advised the complainant to call Salem Police if the exchange does not materialize since both parties live in the city.

– A report at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday noted that police spoke with a male on Tuesday in reference to an possible sexual assault. The incident is under investigation.

– Les Crowe, 41, of 1137 Cunningham Road, was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Columbiana County jail after police were called to the 1800 block of state Route 344 for a domestic dispute in progress at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday.

– Police took a report at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday regarding a domestic altercation between a mother and juvenile son the night before on Hearthside Drive. The juvenile stayed with a relative for the evening and Children’s Services was contacted.

County Sheriff

– Chris Baer, Huron Trail, Negley, reported at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday sometime overnight someone entered two of his vehicles and took $10 from his wallet.

– Terry Volkert, Camp Boulevard, Hanoverton, reported credit card fraud at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies spoke with someone identified on the report only as Brenda, who said she found a charge on her account for a leather recliner massage chair and an ottoman. The charge was for $174. She canceled her card and the chair order. It was scheduled to have been delivered to a man in Lisbon she did not know.

Lisbon

– A caller reported someone was trying to break into a home on West Washington Street at 7:44 p.m. Friday but gave different addresses. Police checked all of the addresses but did not find anything wrong or any burglary in progress.

– Taylor Merriman, North Market Street, reported at 1 p.m. Monday she and her boyfriend, Jesse Cote, were fighting. Merriman alleged that Cote grabbed her by the ankle and she responded by punching him in the mouth. Cote had left by then but Merriman said she wanted him charged. Merriman changed her mind after being told they could both end up being charged with domestic violence and that the report would be forwarded to Children Services since this was the second incident police responded to in recent weeks. Merriman took her young child and left with her father, so police went looking for Cote and found him at a home on North Beaver Street. He said Merriman kicked him in the testicles, which is when he grabbed her ankle to get her to quit. Cote declined to press charges.

– Ted Cooksey, West Washington, reported Tuesday about a property on Maple that has junked cars and trash in the yard for some time. The officer will complaint.

Highway Patrol

– Anastasio H. Sanchez, 78, Wooster Avenue, East Liverpool, was in the right lane on U.S. 30 in St. Clair Township at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday and went off the right side into an embankment. He was cited for failure to control.

– Irene M. Burge, 51, state Route 172, Hanoverton, was southbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 7:34 p.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Michelle R. Barnhart, 49, Court Street, Columbiana, was on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 8:20 a.m. Monday and failed to negotiate a curve the left and went off the right side into an embankment and then crossed over Beeson Mill Road, went off the right side again into a ditch and a culvert. She was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 8:36 a.m. Tuesday there was a huge amount of smoke coming from the garage at 31 N. Vine St. Police, fire and EMS responded to the area but could not find any smoke, although they did find plaster dust coming from a window at 31 W. Salem St. where materials were being thrown out of.

– Harold Maranda of Boardman was cited for failure to yield from a private drive at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday after striking a vehicle driven by Larry E. Kale of Rogers along state Route 7 near Route 14.

– Angela Virden, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday a truck left ruts in her yard on Nov. 29.

– A man reported at 2:33 p.m. Tuesday someone with leaf equipment was blocking the alley between Elm and Spruce. Police found the driver moved the vehicle slightly but did not have anywhere else to park and was only going to be there for another 15 minutes to pick up leaves.

– Police checked on a report speeding in the area of Pueblo and Hawkins Lane at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday but found no one speeding.

– A woman reported at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday she could hear water coming from a vacant home on South Main.

East Liverpool

– Cathy J. Tullis, 62, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was sitting Tuesday at a stop sign on Market Street at Third Street when a vehicle driven by Clyde L. Barker, 82, Saint George Street, came off of Third Street, made a right onto Market and went left of center, striking the rear quarter panel of Tullis’ vehicle. No injuries or citations were reported.

– A truck owned by Kevin Frederick, Belmar Avenue was parked behind the Moose Club when an unknown vehicle struck the driver’s side door and front fender.

Salineville

– Police were called to a Lincoln home at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday regarding a dispute between Brittany Cunning-ham and Christopher Tennant. The incident was resolved, and no charges were filed.

Salem

– The case worker of a woman in the 100 block of Washington reported Wednesday her client was having problems with a man who just walks into her apartment whenever he wants, smokes dope and uses her phone all day. An officer suggested several options, including having the landlord make sure there’s a secure lock on the door. She was also told to call the police when he’s there if she’s afraid.

– An officer was flagged down by two people who said they stopped to help an elderly woman who appeared to be in distress at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday. The officer spoke to the woman and learned she was walking on East Pershing to her bank when her son walked up to her yelling about getting back home. When she refused, her daughter-in-law struck her in the face. She said she wanted nothing done and started walking toward the bank. Later she called the officer to a city residence wanting to file charges for the alleged assault. She said her son, daughter-in-law and another female all live together, along with their children, and they have been using her to babysit. She said they took her bank card and she can’t get any money out. The bank told her to file a police report. For the bank card, she was told to contact Perry Township since it occurred at their residence in the township. The information for the assault will be sent to the prosecutor’s office.

– A Fourth Street woman reported at 12:52 p.m. Wednesday she obtained a ride from a transportation company from her appoint-ment in the morning and when they arrived back in town, the driver made some unwanted advancements.

– A man on Olive Street reported Wednesday he received a bad check from the mother of one of his tenants for her daughter’s rent in October.

– An anonymous person reported at 11:04 a.m. Wednesday that someone opened the basement window-type covering on a vacant residence on New Garden. She said she’s been coming to try to catch the kittens that someone dropped off in a box and noticed the opening. The doors and windows were secure. An officer secured the basement opening. The report said a small area was open for the kittens to get out and the woman was going to watch for them.

-A spokesman for Gene’s Drive-Thru, 1750 E. State St., reported someone passed them two counterfeit $10 bills Monday.

– A man approached an officer in a parking lot on South Lincoln Avenue at 10:24 p.m. Tuesday to report his vehicle was rammed by another vehicle on Depot Road and run off the road by a male driver known to him. The rental vehicle he had been driving sustained front-end damage and was parked in a church lot on Salem Grange Road just west of state Route 45. The Sheriff’s Office was contacted and the man was told a deputy would contact him.

– Police were sent to the Shell gas station on East State Street where an employee at 5:21 p.m. Tuesday reported a customer found a woman’s purse beside one of the trash cans. The officer found the purse empty. It was placed in the police lost and found.

– Great Clips, East State Street, reported Tuesday they received a counterfeit $5 bill.

– Cassandra Fay Garrett, 23, of 510 Boston St., Washingtonville, was taken into custody for theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, after police were called to Walmart at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday. She had been detained by security after attempting to conceal merchandise without paying for it. While she was being booked by police, officers found other concealed merchandise in a baby car seat. The total value of the property was $74. At 12:56 p.m., Alyssa Sluter, of 549 New Garden Ave., came to the store to pick up a baby from Garrett and was taken into custody.

County Sheriff

– Deputies went to the home on Center Avenue, Lisbon, at 5:37 p.m. Sunday and found an emaciated dog shivering outside the home and its chain was wrapped around a steel pipe, restricting the dog’s ability to get into its shelter. The dog’s owner, Corey Adams, said he had just obtained the dog from the Carroll County Dog Pound and, after being asked by the deputy, agreed to surrender the dog to the Columbiana County Dog Pound. The deputy then transported the dog to the pound.

– Mona McCauley, Bayard Road, Minerva, reported hearing a banging noise outside her home about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. In the morning she discovered a large crack in the garage door, and the screwdriver used to keep it locked on the inside was found laying on the garage floor with the handle broke. Nothing appeared to be missing.

– Peggy Haueter reported Friday there was an abandoned car on the side of Heck Road in Unity Township. The plates had been removed and a check of the VIN came back negative. The deputy then found some receipts in the vehicle from Georgia and ran the VIN through Georgia and it came back to Dawson County, Ga., but officials there said the car had not been reported stolen. The keys were found under the front seat, but the car would not start because the battery was missing, so a towing company was called and told to hold the vehicle until the owner could be notified.

– Johnna Timmons, McCracken Road, Salem, called at 6:26 p.m. Friday in regard to people stealing gravel at the corner of Teegarden and Depot roads in Salem Township. Deputies arrived but did not find anyone in the parking lot.

– Sherry Jennings of Rainbow Lakes in Franklin Square reported Friday a flat screen TV was stolen from their trailer. Jennings said she and her husband are in the process of taking over the campground business from her grandfather, and she suspects the culprit may be a disgruntled relative.

– Kevin Sturgeon reported there was a possible fight at a traffic accident on Buffalo Road near Kensington at 3:44 p.m. Sunday. The responding deputy was unable to locate the vehicle but did find drag marks leading to the Buffalo Road residence of Steve Paul, who said his girlfriend, Dawn Johnson, had been driving when the vehicle went off the road. Both said there was no altercation, and a highway patrol trooper arrived to investigate the accident.

– Luke Worden, Center Avenue, Lisbon, reported at 5:10 p.m. Sunday that Shantel Temple threw a hair brush at him and he responded by throwing pocket change at her. Worden and Temple declined to file charges.

– Gary Guido, Elkton-West Point Road, Madison Township, reported Friday his garbage container was stolen.

– Deputies were called to a home on Homeworth Road, Knox Township, on Sunday afternoon after a woman called to say she was concerned because her three children were at their father’s home. She said they had called her and she could hear their father yelling in the background. Deputies left after meeting with the father, who said he was yelling at his children because they would not mind him.

– Cory Ramsey, Hartley Road, Beloit, reported Sunday he forgot his phone in a Paul’s Cab and then received a message call from Daniel Stonestreet, who told him he would return the phone in exchange for $50. A deputy called Stonestreet, who said he would return the phone even though Ramsey told him he could keep it.

Highway Patrol

– Dawn Marie Johnson, 43, Green Beaver Road, Salem, was westbound on Buffalo Road in Hanover Township at 3:48 p.m. Sunday and went off the left side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

– Jona Nicole French, Avon Road, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 4 a.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

– Cherrie L. Bailey, 57, state Route 154, Rogers, was eastbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 4:42 a.m. Friday and went left of center off the left side of the road and into an embankment. She was cited for failure to control and taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Terry L. Bowles, 43, East Calla Road, New Middletown, was stopped at a stop sign on East Park in Fairfield Township at 11:40 a.m. Nov. 30 and was struck from behind by Keith A. Yauman, 58, East Garfield Road, Petersburg. Yauman was cited for assured clear distance and Bowles and one of her passengers, Katlind M. Bowles, 22, same address, were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Chad A. Tatgenhorst, 40, Sixth Street, East Liverpool, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in a police cruiser in Center Township at 1:34 a.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

Columbiana

– Thomas Warren, Washington Street, reported at 1:10 a.m. Sunday he thought someone was trying to break in. Police checked the property but found no one.

– Kevin H. Orwick, South Main Street, reported at 4 a.m. Sunday a woman was trespassing on the property. Police warned Kayla Macklin (Faulkner) of Columbiana for trespass.

– Police went to 210 E. Park Ave. at 8:32 a.m. Sunday for a 911 hang-up phone call and found a child had been playing with the phone.

– A Windrose Court woman reported at 3 p.m. Sunday her 18-year-old son was attempting suicide. The man was taken to a hospital by EMS.

– Alexis Liberty, 20, New Waterford, was arrested for drug possession at 3:43 p.m. Sunday in the NAPA lot.

– Keith Callahan, 35, Alliance, was arrested for domestic violence at 7:10 p.m. Sunday on Union Avenue.

Lisbon

– Keith O. Savage, 27, North Jefferson Street, was cited for OVI, running a red light and driving without a license after a traffic stop at the intersection of North Jefferson and East Chestnut at 1:39 a.m. Sunday.

– James N. Bowers, 44, state Route 164, was cited for OVI after a traffic stop on Washington Street at 11:52 p.m. Friday.

East Liverpool

– Two teen-agers were injured in a one-car crash Monday morning due to icy roadways. While southbound at 7:32 a.m. on Parkway, Meredith J. Dawson, 16, Monticello Place slowed due to the visible ice, but her vehicle slid, crossed the center line and went off the opposite side of the roadway. According to police, it appears the vehicle then gained traction and shot back across the road, went up a hillside, striking a telephone pole. Both Dawson and her passenger, Katherine A. Hamilton, 15, Monticello Place, were transported by Lifeteam ambulance to East Liverpool City Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not known.

– Officers were dispatched Sunday night to a prowler call on Avondale Street, resulting in extra checks being made. During one of those checks, officers stopped and spoke with Steven N. Huth, 26, Winona Road, Salem, who was walking and said he was headed to the Giant Eagle to purchase cigarettes. Officers determined he had no money and also that he had an outstanding warrant. When being taken into custody on the warrant, Huth advised officers he had a hypodermic needle in his shorts underneath his jeans. He was additionally charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

– Raymond J. Wayne, 60, Carnegie, Pa., was sitting in line at a red light on Parkway at Pennsylvania Avenue when a northbound vehicle went left of center, striking his vehicle’s driver’s side mirror. The other vehicle left the scene, and Wayne said it may have been a black Ford Fusion.

St. Clair Township

– Loss prevention officers at Walmart confronted a female shoplifter and she ran, getting into an SUV that left with a female driver, who failed to stop when told to repeatedly. A backpack left behind contained the wallet of Christy S. Keglor, 40, Barclay Avenue, Salem, and later, a drug task force officer called police to say Keglor had called and admitted to the theft and that she and the driver, Richelle L. Ameduri, 39, East Fifth Street, Salem would turn themselves in the next day, which they did. Keglor was charged with theft, possession of criminal tools and criminal trespass, while Ameduri was charged with complicity to theft.

– Helen Conkle, Bell School Road, reported people running through her yard, making her outside lights turn on. She told officers the people hide when they arrive on the scene. Officers checked the area but found no one, and they told Conkle extra checks would be made of the area.

– Russell Stover, 21, Y&O Road, reported having trouble with a man he knows for a month and said the man came to his house Sunday and wanted to fight. An altercation ensued but the other man and his friend left when police were called. Charges are pending.

Salem

– Police responded at 3:40 a.m. Monday to Columbia for a report of someone banging on the back window of a home. Police found no one.

– Police were called at 7:47 p.m. Sunday to South Lundy to assist fir first responders and EMT Ambulance with a heavily intoxicated person refusing treatment. She went to the hospital willingly after police arrived.

– A South Union reported at 7:29 p.m. Sunday she’s been receiving unwanted text messages from the mother of her ex-boyfriend. She also doesn’t want her ex-boyfriend to contact her anymore. Officers told both to quit it.

– A woman from Leetonia reported at 7:13 p.m. Sunday that after she filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend on Saturday, he has been texting her and she wanted to pursue charges against him. A statement was filled out, with further investigation pending.

– Four syringes and a spoon were found in the Salem Plaza lot Sunday.

Perry Township

– An Elberon Avenue man on Sunday reported he went to a local pharmacy to get a prescription filled and found another person’s address and phone number on his prescription information. The pharmacy is checking into where the information was changed and who changed it.

– Police were sent on a smoke investigation at 6:04 p.m. Sunday to the 800 block of Georgetown Road. A possible source was located on Prospect Street Extension where someone had just fired up a coal or wood furnace in the residence with smoke coming from the chimney.

– Thomas Colbert, 29, East Seventh Street, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Joshua Bandy, 27, of Baker Road, Lisbon, who was northbound on state Route 45 and turning left onto West Pine Lake Road. Colbert had been at the stop sign on Pine Lake and didn’t see the other vehicle’s turn signal when he pulled out at 10:41 a.m. Sunday.

– Tom McKenna, state Route 164, reported coming home at 6 p.m. Sunday to hear his carbon monoxide detector going off in the same room where he has a gas fireplace, which he turned off. The fire department was called to check into the matter.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called Saturday to the East Liverpool City Hospital emergency room where a woman was being treated after an alleged domestic dispute on Crawford Avenue. Trisha A. Hartley, 33, suffered bruising and bleeding of her face and heavy bruising to her upper appendages. In her statement to police, Hartley said she returned to the Crawford Avenue home from her mother’s and her live-in boyfriend, Steven R. Cunningham, 44, would not allow her to leave so she could return to her mother’s. She said Cunningham put her in a headlock, slammed her down on the couch and started punching her in the face, telling her she was going to die this time. Cunningham was located and charged with a felony domestic violence.

Salem

– Derek Anderson, Monroe Street, reported Sunday that sometime in the past week someone stole three engine blocks that were in his garage. Last week a person was asking for scrap parts but he told him he could not have the engine blocks.

– Kevin Zimmerly, 52, of 177 E. Main St., East Palestine, was charged with violation of a protection order after police were contacted at 12:39 p.m. Sunday by a Fifth Street woman. Police found him in the woman’s bathroom and placed him in custody.

– Paul McCoy, South Union Avenue, reported at 8:36 a.m. Sunday that someone put duct tape and feces all over his vehicle. He said they also peeled paint off the hood.

– James Pridemore, West Fifth Street, reported at 6:32 a.m. Sunday someone entered his pickup parked behind his house and removed a .50-caliber muzzle loader. The vehicle was locked and there was no sign of forced entry.

– Patrick Shoemaker, 50, of 1003 Arch St., was charged with OVI after police were called at 2:29 a.m. Sunday for a possible OVI in the area of Prospect and Sharp.

– A Prospect Street resident at 2:24 a.m. Sunday wanted to make a report of criminal damaging, but was told the matter was civil.

– Ronald Conway, 26, of Atwater, was charged with intoxicated person in the roadway after an officer at 1:52 a.m. Sunday saw him leaving an altercation on Railroad Street, then walk into the road. A sober ride on scene was asked to take him home after he was charged. A bank card was recovered that was not his with an investigation pending any contact with the owner of the card.

– Lance Kendra, 36, of Girard, was cited for OVI and a stop sign violation after a traffic stop at 12:40 a.m. Sunday on State at Lundy.

– An employee at Speedway, 175 W. State St., reported at 10:27 p.m. Saturday that three people pumped fuel and were unable to render payment. Officers spoke with two of the people who were standing by while the third left to obtain money to pay for the gas. Prior to the third person returning, one of the two made contact with a friend who was able to bring money to the station. The bill was paid.

– Police responded at 9:39 p.m. Saturday to West State Street near Benton Road for a possible intoxicated driver in a black Ford truck headed east on West State. Officers located the vehicle headed south on Howard Avenue and followed to the city limits, but did not see any reckless or impaired driving.

– Police were called to Walmart at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for two alleged shoplifters who fled the store. Surveillance footage was being reviewed.

– No citation was noted on a report regarding an accident at 7:55 p.m. Saturday. Beth Risbeck, 50, of Hanoverton, was driving on State and stopped at the light at Lincoln, and was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Cheryl Siddle, 68, of Oak Street, who said she was looking back at the kids in the back seat. There was no damage to the Risbeck vehicle.

– A domestic was reported at 7:35 p.m. Saturday on Monroe where a couple were arguing over property and the female moving out. They were told it is a civil matter, then the man said she slammed the door on him and caused a red mark to his stomach. She said she was sitting in the room behind the door when he hit himself with the door while trying to break into the room. Both filled out written statements at the station which will be sent to the prosecutor’s office. Police had been called to the residence earlier at 3:57 p.m. after an argument. The officer told them it was civil and the male claimed he was assaulted by the female. The officer stood by while she gathered her belongings and came back a short time later when they were arguing outside the residence.

– An East Seventh Street woman reported Saturday receiving threatening text messages from a man. Police told him to quit it.

– An officer on patrol at 12:16 p.m. Saturday found damage to a new utility pole on the northbound corner of Lundy and Pershing, with pieces of pole on the road. It appeared a vehicle hit it while turning. Ohio Edison was being contacted to check the pole.

– A man who was not identified in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:33 a.m. Saturday that sometime overnight someone broke into his garage and stole tools.

A deputy spoke with Richard Minaker, who said he was outside in the yard when he slipped in the mud and pulled the trigger on a BB gun, hitting him in the chin. No marks were found on Minaker, who said he was fine.

Highway Patrol

– Phillip L. Frame, 32, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, was traveling north on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 4:53 a.m. Friday when he drove off the left side of the icy road and overturned. Frame was not injured, and no citations were issued.

– Sue A. Coy, 73, Avon Lake, hit a deer on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 4:57 p.m. Friday.

– Kristen M. Herstine, 18, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, was traveling south on Knox School Road in West Township at 10:39 p.m. Friday when she failed to negotiate a curve on the right, and then drove off the left side of the road and hit a utility police. She was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

– Jawna Stokes, Union Street, reported at 12:37 a.m. Friday she was involved in a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Keith Callahan, 35, of Alliance. Stokes said that after the two argued, Callahan threw a cell phone at Stokes which hit her in the head and injured her. Callahan left upon an officer’s arrival and was traveling west on state Route 344 toward Salem. Around 5:45 p.m., Stokes reported that he returned to her residence. Callahan was arrested on domestic violence charges and taken to the county jail.

– Beaver Township police advised at 4:11 a.m. Friday of a dead deer in the middle of the intersection of state Route 14 and Lippincott Road, and requested assistance from Columbiana since no Beaver Township officers were available. The deer was removed by Columbiana.

– A woman reported at 5:29 a.m. Friday a man in a older model silver car acted aggressively toward her while she was at the laundromat at the area of West Railroad Street and South Main Street. Officers checked on the woman, who said she was fine, and later searched for the man in question but were unable to locate him.

– Police responded to a call around 6:26 a.m. Friday of open burning in the area of Pittsburgh Street. Officers found the fire in the back of an automotive shop and determined the fire was attended and in good order. Officers also advised the shop of the city’s open burning policies.

– John R. Bosley, West Clark Street, reported at 7:17 a.m. Friday he was involved in a hit-skip accident on state Route 46 near Sparkle.

– Linda Kalina reported at 1:22 p.m. Friday she received a check from eBay, which was determined to be a scam.

– Harold Barbara, Pittsburgh Street, reported at 7:36 p.m. Friday his wife was missing. The woman was later found at a house on the corner of Pittsburgh and Spruce. The woman was returned home safe.

– Lloyd Willis reported at 8:10 p.m. Friday a tan colored Suburban was driving recklessly as it traveled east on state Route 14, had red flashing lights in the grill and back window, and hid behind multiple businesses.

Salem

– Police were called at 5:04 a.m. Saturday to the 900 block of Prospect Street for a domestic. A man who appeared intoxicated was standing inside his garage. He said his wife locked him out of the house after an argument and he wanted to go back inside due to the cold weather. His wife said he pushed her, however no injury was observed and she didn’t say she was injured. The husband was permitted back inside.

– Police assisted a sheriff’s deputy who took a man into custody in the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue on a warrant.

– An officer was dispatched at 3:50 a.m. Saturday to the 100 block of West State for someone peeling tires in the parking lot. No vehicles were located.

– Paul R. Faulkner, 20, of 32243 Hoopes Road, Salem, was cited for underage consumption after an officer at 1:20 a.m. Saturday saw someone throw an open beer can from the driver’s window of a vehicle at Aetna and Broadway. The vehicle was towed and he was released to a sober relative.

– Police were called early Saturday to the 1200 block of Third Street for a suspicious person/vehicle playing loud music. The vehicle was located, but police found no criminal violation.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 12:29 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East Fifth Street. A woman who said the man had left. She said they had a verbal dispute, with nothing physical. He was just having a bad night. Officers located the male who was intoxicated and also said he was just having a bad night. Officers gave him a courtesy ride to a relative’s home.

– A suspicious person was reported at 12:13 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Third Street, but could not be located.

– A East Third Street woman reported at 9:29 p.m. Friday her daughter did not come home after going to the library. Her daughter said she was at a friend’s house, but when she checked, she wasn’t there. The girl contacted her mother while police were there and came home. An officer spoke to the girl about her actions and consequences and told her to listen to her mother.

– A caller at 9:57 p.m. Friday reported a suspicious person in the 500 block of North Lincoln, saying the man came to his home asking if they needed any work done in exchange for money. The man couldn’t be found.

– A pickup owned by Deliahah Donnalley of Beloit was struck by another vehicle while parked at Pizza Hut, 325 W. State St., at 8:29 p.m. Friday.

– A woman in the 400 block of Continental Drive reported at 8:19 p.m. Friday her adult son who lives with her had received what she believed to be a threat on Facebook. An officer will attempt to contact the person who made the threat.

– Police responded to the intersection of Ohio Avenue and East State Street to check the red light at 6:47 p.m. Friday. A caller said the light was malfunctioning and the light for northbound traffic had not changed from red. The light changed to green as officers arrived and they remained to make sure the light was working properly.

– David Butcher, 42, of 175 N. Ellsworth Ave., was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop on West Pershing at 6:35 p.m. Friday. The BMV ordered the license plates and registration seized.

– An officer at 6:02 p.m. Friday saw a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on East School Street. The owner said he would move the vehicle.

– An ATV was reported in the road at 4:40 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of East Fifth. The ATV was parked when officers arrived. The driver was told to stay off of the road.

Callahan was arrested on domestic violence charges and taken to the county jail.

– Beaver Township police advised at 4:11 a.m. Friday of a dead deer in the middle of the intersection of state Route 14 and Lippincott Road, and requested assistance from Columbiana since no Beaver Township officers were available. The deer was removed by Columbiana.

– A woman reported at 5:29 a.m. Friday a man in a older model silver car acted aggressively toward her while she was at the laundromat at the area of West Railroad Street and South Main Street. Officers checked on the woman, who said she was fine, and later searched for the man in question but were unable to locate him.

– Police responded to a call around 6:26 a.m. Friday of open burning in the area of Pittsburgh Street. Officers found the fire in the back of an automotive shop and determined the fire was attended and in good order. Officers also advised the shop of the city’s open burning policies.

– John R. Bosley, West Clark Street, reported at 7:17 a.m. Friday he was involved in a hit-skip accident on state Route 46 near Sparkle.

– Linda Kalina reported at 1:22 p.m. Friday she received a check from eBay, which was determined to be a scam.

– Harold Barbara, Pittsburgh Street, reported at 7:36 p.m. Friday his wife was missing. The woman was later found at a house on the corner of Pittsburgh and Spruce. The woman was returned home safe.

– Lloyd Willis reported at 8:10 p.m. Friday a tan colored Suburban was driving recklessly as it traveled east on state Route 14, had red flashing lights in the grill and back window, and hid behind multiple businesses.

Salem

– Police were called at 5:04 a.m. Saturday to the 900 block of Prospect Street for a domestic. A man who appeared intoxicated was standing inside his garage. He said his wife locked him out of the house after an argument and he wanted to go back inside due to the cold weather. His wife said he pushed her, however no injury was observed and she didn’t say she was injured. The husband was permitted back inside.

– Police assisted a sheriff’s deputy who took a man into custody in the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue on a warrant.

– An officer was dispatched at 3:50 a.m. Saturday to the 100 block of West State for someone peeling tires in the parking lot. No vehicles were located.

– Paul R. Faulkner, 20, of 32243 Hoopes Road, Salem, was cited for underage consumption after an officer at 1:20 a.m. Saturday saw someone throw an open beer can from the driver’s window of a vehicle at Aetna and Broadway. The vehicle was towed and he was released to a sober relative.

– Police were called early Saturday to the 1200 block of Third Street for a suspicious person/vehicle playing loud music. The vehicle was located, but police found no criminal violation.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 12:29 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East Fifth Street. A woman who said the man had left. She said they had a verbal dispute, with nothing physical. He was just having a bad night. Officers located the male who was intoxicated and also said he was just having a bad night. Officers gave him a courtesy ride to a relative’s home.

– A suspicious person was reported at 12:13 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Third Street, but could not be located.

– A East Third Street woman reported at 9:29 p.m. Friday her daughter did not come home after going to the library. Her daughter said she was at a friend’s house, but when she checked, she wasn’t there. The girl contacted her mother while police were there and came home. An officer spoke to the girl about her actions and consequences and told her to listen to her mother.

– A caller at 9:57 p.m. Friday reported a suspicious person in the 500 block of North Lincoln, saying the man came to his home asking if they needed any work done in exchange for money. The man couldn’t be found.

– A pickup owned by Deliahah Donnalley of Beloit was struck by another vehicle while parked at Pizza Hut, 325 W. State St., at 8:29 p.m. Friday.

– A woman in the 400 block of Continental Drive reported at 8:19 p.m. Friday her adult son who lives with her had received what she believed to be a threat on Facebook. An officer will attempt to contact the person who made the threat.

– Police responded to the intersection of Ohio Avenue and East State Street to check the red light at 6:47 p.m. Friday. A caller said the light was malfunctioning and the light for northbound traffic had not changed from red. The light changed to green as officers arrived and they remained to make sure the light was working properly.

– David Butcher, 42, of 175 N. Ellsworth Ave., was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop on West Pershing at 6:35 p.m. Friday. The BMV ordered the license plates and registration seized.

– An officer at 6:02 p.m. Friday saw a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on East School Street. The owner said he would move the vehicle.

– An ATV was reported in the road at 4:40 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of East Fifth. The ATV was parked when officers arrived. The driver was told to stay off of the road.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Stephanie Malik, Harvey Avenue, Lisbon, reported at 7:58 p.m. Wednesday a red car had just backed into her yard, striking her gas meter. The motorist fled but Malik managed to get the license plate number. Lisbon police caught up with the car at 11:30 p.m. and a deputy arrived to speak to the driver, Alexis McDevitt, 18, Yellow Creek Church Road, Salineville, who initially denied she was at the location. After the deputy saw the fresh damage in her car, McDevitt admitted being there and backing into something.

-A semi-truck and trailer were stuck in the yard of Danny Nentwick, state Route 558, Columbiana, at 10 p.m. Wednesday. The driver, Damen A. Watkins of Chester, S.C., said he pulled into the driveway to turn around when he became stuck. Watkins was advised to have his company contact the sheriff’s office.

– Mike Blazer, Canal Street, Hanoverton, reported Wednesday being the victim of a scam allegedly perpetuated by a suspected identified later as Carl William Young Jr., 41, John Street, Salineville. Glazer said Young came to his house offering to sell the new tires on his truck, which was being repossessed. Blazer agreed to the purchase tires, but Young said he first needed to borrow $70 for gas money to drive his truck from Canton, which Blazer provided. This was on Sunday, and the next day, Young advised Blazer he put the gas in the wrong tank and needed more money for fuel. Blazer refused and that was the last he heard from him. The deputy said Young has done this to other people in the county, and he does not even own a truck.

– Robert and Sherry Jennings reported Friday they are in the process of taking over the Rainbow Lakes Campground on Old state Route 344 in Salem Township from Sherry’s grandfather and other family members are not happy with the arrangement. On Friday, they found a 60-inch television taken from their camper and Sherry told deputies she suspects her sister or her boyfriend who live in Darlington, Pa.

Highway Patrol

– Anna M. Lannon, 30, Steubenville-Pike, Lisbon, was southbound on Steubenville-Pike in Center Township at 4:16 p.m. Thursday and Donita M. Wells, 58, Steubenville-Pike, Lisbon, was northbound and their driver’s side mirrors collided.

– Joseph E. Hendricks, 36, Parks Avenue, Paris, was westbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 1:26 a.m. Friday and hit a deer.

– Joshua R. Grisez, 27, Brown Street, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 1 a.m. Thursday and swerved to avoid hitting a deer and went left of center off the road and into a guardrail and then rolled over.

– Amy M. Moore-Creaturo, 37, West North Avenue, East Palestine, was westbound on state Route 558 in Unity Township at 7:28 a.m. Thursday and hit a dog. The dog could not be found after the crash.

Columbiana

– A woman reported at 12:30 a.m. Thursday the driver of a vehicle was acting suspicious in the area of the Valero gas station. The woman reported the driver was inside the gas station for a while and then moved over to the 7&14 Truck stop and sat in the parking lot for over an hour. Police checked but did not find the vehicle.

– Deanna Carman, Hawkins Lane, reported at 8:36 a.m. Thursday she could smell what appeared to be acetone in the area of her home. Police notified the fire department who checked the area and did not find any problem or chemical detected. Carman then told firefighters she actually smelled the substance about a week or so ago, not that day. She was then advised to call immediately if she smelled the odor again.

East Liverpool

– Regina McDole, Lincoln Avenue, reported Friday hearing a car door closing and seeing a woman inside her Jeep, rummaging through her personal items. McDole recognized the woman as Lindsey J. Beebout, 23, no address listed, and confronted her. Beebout got out of the vehicle, dropping her purse, from which fell a tool kit and GPS, but Beebout denied taking anything from McDole, reportedly telling her she was “just trying to get stuff so she can get some man (heroin).” McDole took the tool set and chased Beebout away, and officers found her in Dresden Square, where she was arrested for criminal mischief. En route to the police station, Beebout reportedly told officers she had taken the tool set and GPS from two separate vehicles.

– Officers were called several times Friday morning to a Grove Alley residence where Bud N. Hull Sr., 35, Allison Street, was reportedly knocking on the door and then hiding. The officers hid and waited for Hull to leave and took him into custody for disorderly conduct/intoxication.

St. Clair Township

– While exiting a driveway onto McCoy Avenue, Amy S. Bailey, 40, 6th Avenue, reportedly lost control of her vehicle, which drove across the highway, striking a tree.

– Preston J. Crawford, 16, state Route 45, Wellsville, was westbound on state Route 170 when a vehicle pulled from the Burger King lot into his path, causing a collision. Crawford’s vehicle went off the road, striking the Wendy’s sign and spun around. The other vehicle left the scene, leaving behind a bumper from a black Pontiac Trans Am. Officers searched the area but did not locate the other vehicle. Crawford was transported by North Star Critical Care to East Liverpool City Hospital.

Wellsville

– An officer reported seeing a van driving through the Central Federal Bank parking lot at 11:27 p.m. Sunday then travel at a high rate of speed in Maple Alley before making several other turns and then pulling into the parking lot of Avellana Apartments, where the lights were turned off on the vehicle. When the officer pulled up to the van, a man opened the driver’s side door. After the officer pulled behind the van to run the license plate then returned to the vehicle, the man was in the passenger seat and said someone else had been driving and had gone into the apartment building. The man was identified as Clarence L. Blake, 25, Cleveland, who had a suspended driver’s license and who had an outstanding warrant. The K-9 team of officers Joe Saraniti and Chief were called to the scene, with Chief alerting on the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, a snorting straw, metal spoon with residue and syringe were reportedly found. Blake was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension. His vehicle was towed.

– Eugene Ceneviva, Parkview Drive, reported his truck was parked on Main Street when someone pulled down the driver’s side window, breaking it.

– A clerk from Gibby’s Mini Mart reported seeing a coal truck strike a telephone pole at the corner of 18th Street and Clark Avenue Thursday then leave the scene. A truck matching the description was found pulled off the side of the road on state Route 170 in St. Clair Township, but the driver, Jackie J. Johnson, 61, Youngstown, denied being in an accident in Wellsville. Officers noticed damage to the truck, and Johnson reportedly then admitted being in the accident and was cited for improper turning.

– David Peachey, East Liverpool, reported his vehicle was struck by a tree-trimmer’s truck and trailer at Marathon gas station. Employees of the Asplundh Company, however, completed statements saying Peachey struck their vehicle while they were pulling up to a gas pump. Due to the conflicting accounts, both parties were advised to contact their own insurance carriers.

Salem

– Police arrested a 17-year-old male for an unruly offense following a traffic stop on East State Street at Woodland Avenue at 3:44 a.m. Thursday in which he was a passenger. He was transported to his home a short distance away and turned over to his father.

– Police responded to a Jefferson Avenue home at 9:40 p.m. Thursday where a neighbor said the resident was having a medical emergency. The resident was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

– Officers responded to a Cleveland Street home at 9:41 p.m. Thursday where Gary Smith reported telephone harassment. Officers attempted several times to contact Smith but he would not open the door. Dispatch also attempted to call him back but received no answer.

– Chaippele Belayn, 30, no address listed, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop for speed on East State Street at 8:55 a.m. Friday.

– Susan Bailey, Salem, was in the inside lane at a drive-through in the 1800 block of East State Street at 9:52 a.m. Friday when her foot slipped from the brake causing her vehicle to struck another one in the outside lane driven by Daniel H. Fox, Salem. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Perry Township

– Police took a minor accident report on station at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday for a two-vehicle crash that had occurred at the intersection of U.S. Route 62 and state Route 9 in which a 2009 Ford Fusion driven by Tina M. Moore, 39, Salineville, had been eastbound on U.S. Route 62 and stopped at the intersection to turn left when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2013 Nissan Maxima driven by Amy J. Shope, 43, Canfield, causing minor damage to Moore’s vehicle and none to Shope’s. No citations were issued, but Shope was found to be at fault.

Goshen Police District

– Antonio Papale of the Colonial Motel on U.S. Route 62 reported at 9:37 a.m. Nov. 11 that someone took two televisions out of two motel rooms.

County Sheriff

– A deputy was asked to check on the welfare of Roy Foley, state Route 170, East Palestine, at 5:11 a.m. Thursday. Foley said he was involved in an altercation in Youngstown with Sally Lewis earlier that night but he was not injured.

– Albert Wittenauer, Wilderson Avenue, East Palestine, reported Thursday finding his vacant rental property on Lotze Avenue in Unity Township had been vandalized. He believes the former tenant, who was evicted in July, was responsible.

– Karen DiCenzi, Richardson Avenue, Negley, reported Wednesday her trash container had been stolen from the curb.

– Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Frola Hotel outside Lisbon at 3:31 a.m. Wednesday. After finding no one around, deputies went to a motel room and found a gas worker who was not the subject of the call. The deputies spoke with the manager, who was unaware of any problems.

Highway Patrol

– Marty C. Hostetter, 59, state Route 170, East Palestine, was eastbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday and struck Carl S. Pearson, 73, Riley Avenue, East Liverpool, who was northbound and pulled from a stop sign. Pearson was cited for right of way.

– Jenna W. Carr, 33, County Road 55, Hammondsville, was westbound on Glasgow Road in Madison Township at 11 a.m. Wednesday and went off the left side of the road, over an embankment and into an exposed tree root before coming to rest in a wooded area. She was cited for failure to control.

– Rachel Alaina Zink, 21, of Steubenville, was northwestbound on U.S. 30 in St. Clair Township at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday and went off the east side into a guardrail and then went off the west side into a concrete barrier. She was cited for failure to control.

– Kelsey L. Wagner, 17, Canton, was eastbound on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and rear-ended John P. Lewis, Stratton Road, Salem, who was stopped in traffic. Wagner was cited for assured clear distance and taken to the Alliance hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Columbiana

– Mary Logan reported at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday her fog light was broken on her car while in the El Paso Grill parking lot.

– Robert Perry requested at 8:37 p.m. Wednesday police conduct a welfare check on his ex-wife since she was intoxicated when he dropped his child off to her at Columbiana Manor apartments. Police checked on the woman but she was not intoxicated.

– A man reported at 8:46 p.m. a dog was howling in the area of Pittsburgh Street and Quincy Avenue and sounded like it was in distress. Police checked the area but did not hear any howling or see the dog.

East Palestine

– Ellen Beagle, East Main Street, reported at 10 a.m. Monday someone stole $15,000 worth of gold jewelry from her home.

– Brian Hreha, East Main Street, reported at 7:19 a.m. Sunday he could hear what sounded like someone yelling and screaming for help near his home. He later reported the sound was coming from an animal at a nearby farm. Police checked and found it was an animal and notified its owners of the report.

– Amanda Ogle, West Martin Street, reported at 9:21 a.m. Sunday her upstairs neighbor James Quigley was making a lot of noise and was making threats toward her. Police warned Quigley and Ogle to stop provoking each other.

– Stephanie Roush, state Route 170, reported at 10:52 a.m. Sunday someone stole her son’s bicycle from their front porch during the night. Roush later reported finding the bicycle in the woods near her home.

Lisbon

– A resident of Applegrove apartments reported Nov. 15 his former girlfriend, who also lives in the apartment complex, was sending him disturbing and threatening text messages. He was told to bring his phone to the police station but when he did he was unable to find the text messages he considered harassing and threatening to show police.

– A caller reported there was a suspicious person loitering about outside East of Chicago Pizza at 7:40 p.m. Monday. Police arrived and found Aaron Penny in the parking lot. Penny said he and his wife are talking about divorcing and he was walking around town to clear his head. He was told to quit hanging around local businesses.

– Nicole Hilton, West Chestnut Street, reported there was a suspicious vehicle outside her residence at 9 p.m. Wednesday. Police spoke with the vehicle’s owner, who stated he was moving some things to his mother-in-law’s residence and was getting ready to leave.

– A Morning Journal employee reported at 2:50 a.m. Thursday someone was sitting in a red Cavalier parked on South Beaver Street near Maple Street, and everytime a car passed by the occupant turned off the headlights. The vehicle was gone by the time police arrived.

– Police were told to be on the lookout for a red Cavalier, and the vehicle was spotted in the village at 11:16 p.m. Wednesday. Police stopped the vehicle on West Lincoln Way near Beaver Street and waited for sheriff’s deputies to arrive to take the unidentified suspect into custody for an unexplained reason. Also involved in the traffic stop was a trooper from the highway patrol.

– Police were called to an apartment house on North Market Street at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday to stand by while an ambulance transported a resident to a local hospital to be examined.

– Police were called to Applegrove apartments at 6 p.m. Wednesday in regard to a man who was contemplating harming himself. The man said he was depressed, had no family and his counselor just told him his Medicaid coverage had been canceled, so he did not know how he was going to get his medicine. The officer told him this was no reason to kill himself, so the man agreed to be transported to a local hospital to be examined.

– A woman who lives on North Market Street reported Tuesday having problems with her 17-year-old son, who refuses to mind her and always gives her a hard time. The mother was advised she could file unruly charges against him in county juvenile court.

Salem

– Police were requested at 10:26 a.m. Thursday to assist a housing inspector in the 800 block of South Lundy in reference to several vehicles in a lot. Officers spoke with residents at one house and told them to take care of the issues with the vehicles or be cited.

– An officer on patrol at 8:40 a.m. Thursday saw a county Head Start bus disabled in the area of South Lincoln and Aetna. The driver said help was on the way.

– Police were called at 8:36 a.m. Thursday to the 400 block of Aetna Street for an alleged property issue. A woman said the family at the residence where she used to live won’t return her property or baby items and now they’re making threats to call Children Services. She was told the other people should return her property and to tell them if they have questions to call the police.

– Robert J. McElroy, 34, of 1849 E. Third St., was charged with assault and carrying a concealed weapon after police were called at 5:29 p.m. Wednesday to a residence in the 900 block of East Fourth Street for a fight in progress. Two males were found in a physical confrontation and separated. The report alleged that McElroy had entered the home without permission and assaulted another male who was in the home. Additional charges were pending, according to the report.

– A woman in the 400 block of Aetna Street reported at 3:51 p.m. Wednesday that several kids were riding skateboards in the street. An officer located the three boys, ages 8 to 12, and told them about the city ordinance prohibiting skateboarding in the street and told to stay on the sidewalks.

Goshen Police District

– Chester C. Quick, 54, 340 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem, was cited for driving under suspension and failure to dim headlights after a traffic stop on U.S. 62 at Pine Lake Road at 3:10 a.m. Thursday.

Wellsville

– Advised at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday by an off-duty officer about a vehicle parked behind a church on 11th Street with its lights off, an officer investigated and found the driver, Anthony Baker, 29, and a 16-year-old passenger in the vehicle. The officer noticed an unopened condom on the floor of the vehicle next to Baker’s foot, but Baker denied it was his. Baker’s driving status returned as not valid and he was listed as a registered sex offender, according to reports. The girl told the officer she left her home without permission and got a ride from Baker, who is a friend of hers. Baker was cited for driving without a license, and the girl was transported to the police department and released to her mother.

County Sheriff

Brian Burse of AT&T reported at 11:47 a.m. Monday and again at 3 p.m. Tuesday someone has been removing two sections of cable at a time from a site on McCormick Run Road in Yellow Creek Township. Of the six sections of cable at the location, two were taken on Monday and another two were taken overnight.

– Robert Price, Fair Avenue, Salem, reported at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday he was dropping off his two daughters at his ex-wife’s home on Leetonia Road and when he went to the back door she came out screaming at him. He handed her his 2-year-old daughter and started to walk away, but his ex-wife came after him and hit him in the back of the head, knocking off his glasses. Price said he continued to his vehicle, rolled down the window and told her to step away from the car so he could leave. Although he was concerned it happened in front of his children, he did not want to prosecute.

– The mother of a 13-year-old girl asked deputies to check on her daughter, who lives with her father, after learning the girl may be cutting herself. Deputies arrived and found the father and the daughter getting into the family vehicle to go speak to someone at the Counseling Center and then to Belmont Pines Hospital. The wounds on the wrists were scratch marks and were not bleeding.

– Grayson Anderson, Valley Road, Salem, reported at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday she has received several text messages from a girl threatening to beat her up and she believes it may have something to do with her ex-boyfriend. The girl also has shown up places where Anderson goes and threatened her there, too. Deputies spoke to the girl and she claimed Anderson was the one causing problems with her and her boyfriend. Deputies told them both Anderson and the girl not to contact each other and stay away from each other.

– Salem police Lt. Dave Casto reported at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday he was investigating several checks written from the account of Susan Eakin, who is deceased. He asked deputies to go to a home on state Route 518, Lisbon, to look for the two people he believed may be responsible. Deputies spoke to Chad Dickson, who said he is staying at the home with his two daughters. Dickson said one of the people that deputies were looking for had stayed there on Nov. 22 with his girlfriend and a small infant, claiming they needed a place to stay for a couple of days. Four empty boxes of checks with Eakin’s name on them were found in a green tote, which had been recently disturbed in the basement.

Lisbon

– William S. Davis, 26, East Chestnut Street, was arrested Tuesday on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest after reportedly striking his mother in the face while taking money from her. While being arrested he allegedly began to resist, resulting in the other charge.

– Police were called to the Opportunity School at the county juvenile court complex on Nov. 20, where a school official was having problems with a male student who had refused to surrender his phone. The boy said he had forgotten to take his medication and was just having a bad day. The boy’s mother came to pick him up, and he was told not to bring the phone back.

– Deanne Lodge of Salem backed into a parked car owned by Julie Black, also of Salem, in the Family Recovery Center parking lot at noon Monday.

– An employee of Huntington Bank reported they were concerned after finding a red backpack in the garbage can outside the bank at 4 p.m. Monday. Police inspected the backpack and determined it was, in fact, garbage.

– Police were called to a home on West Washington Street at 9 a.m. Tuesday to stand by while an ambulance crew prepared to transport someone to a local hospital after having fallen from a roof. Police did not identify the person.

Columbiana

– An Apache Lane man reported at 12:14 p.m. Tuesday a white box truck was at a neighboring home where appliances were recently stolen from. Police checked and found it was bank workers who were there replacing the appliances that were stolen.

– Police provided traffic control for a tractor trailer on Lisbon Street at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday so it could back up from the underpass.

– A caregiver for an 18-year-old on Windrose requested police speak with him to calm him down. Police stood by until another caregiver was called in.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded to Walmart for a possible overdose, where they found a 41-year-old man unresponsive, half in and half out of a car. His wife said she believed he overdosed on drugs. North Star Critical Care ambulance crews administered Narcan and the man revived, asking where he was. He was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

– Hollie Reese, Cricket Lane, reported her grandmother, Lois Esenwein’s van missing. Esenwein was advised she must file a report.

Perry Township

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday to speak with a resident who was having problems with a former roommate over personnel property. She was told it’s a civil matter and to call a lawyer if they can’t resolve the issue on their own.

– Katherine McDaniel, 76, state Route 9, struck a deer Tuesday morning on Route 9.

– An officer euthanized a deer after being called to the 1600 block of North Lincoln Avenue for an injured animal in a yard at 11:55 p.m. Monday.

– Daniel Neiswanger, 48, of South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 4:14 p.m. Monday on Cunningham Road.

– A property owner in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:40 a.m. Monday his son is living in the residence on the property and accessed a detached garage that was secured with several locks, damaging the garage door. Items were taken from the garage.

Salem

– James Ryan Wilson, 19, of Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, was cited for a minor misdemeanor for possession of marijuana after police were called at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday for a reckless operator on South Lincoln Avenue. Two different officers saw the alleged vehicle traveling north on Lincoln then turn right onto Sixth Street, but saw no violations. The vehicle pulled into the First Christian Church parking lot and the driver said he was picking up someone at the school. One of the officers saw the male passenger, later identified as Wilson, with marijuana, which he admitted was his.

– Charity Townsend, of the 500 block of Jennings Avenue, reported at 2:41 p.m. Wednesday that someone may have attempted to gain entry into her back door by pulling or prying a corner of the wooden piece around the door glass. One nail had popped out.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday on East State Street with a driver known to be driving without a license. The vehicle was not found.

– Erika Berta of Cleveland reported at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday that her vehicle was parked in a lot in the 100 block of Jennings Avenue on Sunday and she noticed Monday that another vehicle had struck the right corner of the rear bumper. She said it looked like white or silver paint was left by the other vehicle.

– Police responded at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday to 922 W. Pershing St. with a housing inspector from the city. The front and side doors were found secured from the inside and no one was to be residing there. No one answered the door. A meth lab had been found at the residence last month and the housing inspector had ordered the house unfit for human habitation. The inspector was told by officers that until a determination was made by a law department, no entry could be gained.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Fourth Street reported a noise complaint at 8:43 p.m. Tuesday, saying he believed someone was knocking on one of his windows. An officer arrived and found that the noise was actually from vandalism to the house.

– An employee of Home Savings & Loan, 650 E. State St., reported at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday that a man tried to obtain money from a closed account not belonging to him. No money was transferred.

– Police responded to Giant Eagle at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of passing bad checks. An employee said a man cashed two checks recently from a checking account that’s closed. The checks were returned from the bank.

– An officer at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday spoke with a man in the 200 block of Washington Avenue in reference to credit card fraud. He believed a male he knows stole his credit card number and attempted to obtain money from the card. No money was able to be removed and the card has been canceled.

– A caller at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday reported a parking complaint in the 100 block of South Broadway involving a pickup parked where there was no parking at the cement curve by the alley. The owner came and said he saw the sign for parking three hours, but the officer showed him where the lines were located. He was very apologetic.

– A woman asked police at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday to check the welfare of a relative who missed an appointment. The resident was not home and the car was gone. Later it was learned she had gone to Boardman.

– A resident in the 900 block of Prospect Street reported at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday that sometime Saturday someone used his credit/debit card in another county, charging $290.02.

County Sheriff

– Rachel Lamp, Versailles, Ky., reported at 3:02 p.m. Friday someone stole the wheels and tires from the 2000 Jeep Cherokee parked in the driveway of a home she owns on Foundry Hill Road within the past week. She also heard two men she knows entered the home and took several items. She later called deputies again to report she located two of the aluminum rims from her Jeep at Summitville Salvage. Deputies spoke to the owner of the business, who said a man he has known for years came in and scrapped the rims on Nov. 19.

– Angela Veglia, Dyke Road, Negley, reported at 8:02 p.m. Monday she wanted deputies to remove her ex-boyfriend, Glen Collins, who came over wanting to come into her home and talk to her. He left before deputies arrived.

– Rusty Kaser of the Town and Country trailer park, U.S. Route 62, Alliance, reported at 6:45 p.m. Monday a man evicted from the trailer park became upset and began driving around at a high rate of speed, putting other people’s lives in danger.

Highway Patrol

– Dylan Scott Ketchum, 19, state Route 644, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 518 in Wayne Township at 12:41 a.m. Thursday and went off the left side over an embankment and overturned. He was cited for failure to control and taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with minor injuries.

– Rachel M. Lawlis, 20, King Road, Salem, was westbound on King Road in Butler Township at 11:26 p.m. Thursday and Benjamin Sturgeon, 33, Tower Road, Salem, was northbound on Slater Road. Lawlis failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by Sturgeon in the intersection. Both cars went off the road, Sturgeon’s into a pole. Lawlis was cited for stop sign and taken to the Salem hospital with minor injuries.

– Russell L. Poling, 18, state Route 558, Leetonia, was northwestbound on Old Route 558 in Salem Township at 8:40 a.m. Friday and was struck by Paul E. Triplett, 37, Lisbon-Dungannon Road, Lisbon, who was southeastbound on Old Route 558 and slid left of center. Triplett was cited for failure to control.

– Jamie Allen Brockner, 18, state Route 267, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 6:14 a.m. Friday and was struck by a southbound vehicle that went left of center. Brockner then went off the right side into an embankment while the other vehicle continued on.

– Denise V. Dixon, 54, Bell Road, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 4:55 a.m. Friday and failed to maintain control on the snow and went off the right side into an embankment. She was cited for failure to control.

– Joan M. Beckin, 49, Mark Street, Wooster, hit a deer on U.S. 30 in West Township at 11 p.m. Saturday.

– Joely K. Kaylor-McCallister, 17, Route 46, New Waterford, was southwestbound on Columbiana-Lisbon Road in Fairfield Township at 2 a.m. Saturday and went left of center then off the left side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

– Anthony J. Fronzaglio, 30, Youngstown, hit a deer on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

– Aaron L. Kittridge, 55, High Street, Leetonia, was southbound on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 10:20 a.m. Sunday and went off the left side, over-corrected and then slid off the right side into several small trees. He was cited for failure to control.

– Dakota Gage Baker, 19, state Route 344, Leetonia, was westbound on Lodge Road in Salem Township at 11:23 a.m. Sunday and Richelle R. Kyle, 46, Pueblo Lane, Columbiana, was southbound on state Route 164 and struck Baker who failed to stop at the stop sign. Baker was cited for stop sign.

– Marcia J. Stone, 40, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, hit a deer on Depot Road in Hanover Township at 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

– Kelly Marie Williams, 20, Boardman, was northbound on Sprucevale Road in Middleton Township at 11 p.m. Sunday and failed to maintain control and went left of center off the left side into a retaining wall. She was cited for failure to control.

– Diana L. White, 64, state Route 7, Lisbon, was southeastbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 10:15 a.m. Monday and went off the right side and up over a guardrail. She was cited for failure to control.

– James R. Cutter, 44, Struthers, hit a deer on state Route 164 in Washington Township at 4 p.m. Monday.

– Barbara A. McKarns, 72, state Route 518, Hanoverton, hit a deer on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 9 p.m. Monday.

– John Dickens, 67, East Pine Street, Lisbon, hit a deer on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday.

– Adalee G. Moore, 22, Carole Drive, Salem, was westbound on state Route 558 in Salem Township at 9 a.m. Friday and lost control and slid off the left side into a guardrail. She was cited for failure to control.

– Jeanne Peterman, 65, Sunrise Drive, Lisbon, hit a deer on state Route 558 in Salem Township at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 26r.

– Chase Lucas May, 29, state Route 9, Hanoverton, was recently cited for failure to control, seat belt, driving without a license and OVI from the Nov. 22 crash in Hanover Township in which he went off the left side of state Route 9 into an embankment, a fruit stand and an electric fence and overturned. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

Lisbon

– Clint Reynolds, East Lincoln Way, reported Tim Wamsley was trespassing at his apartment again at 10:42 a.m. Thursday. An officer spoke to another resident in the apartment complex who said Wamsley had his permission to be there.

– Police were called to outside the Lepper Library at 5:27 p.m. Nov. 26 in regard to a dog that had been struck by a car and also bit two people – juvenile Steve Lee and Jessa Cunningham, who were advised to seek medical treatment. As for the dog, it was taken to the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic.

– A caller reported Nov. 26 there were six adults and eight dogs living in an unheated home in the 500 block of East Washington. Police arrived to find four adults and six children living there, but there were only two dogs and there was heat. Police saw there was food and the home was clean.

Columbiana

– Police went to the McDonald’s lot at 1:33 p.m. Monday for a report of people panhandling and found one of them, Elena Atyim of Boardman, had a warrant from Niles. She was taken to the state Routes 11 and 224 exit to be picked up by Niles police. Her companion, Kevin Trebella of Youngstown, opted to wait for a ride in the Duke and Duchess parking lot.

– At 2:56 p.m. Monday police received several calls that a wheel had fallen from the back of a truck on state Route 14 near state Route 46 and it was laying in the road. Police removed it from the road.

– Kurt Miller reported at 4:18 p.m. Monday his 17-year-old son ran away again and requested police check to see if he was at a home on East Friend Street. The boy was not there.

– Tim Walker reported at 11:57 p.m. Monday his girlfriend called him and sounded very high. Police told him to notify her probation officer and Walker said he was not sure where his girlfriend was. Police checked the area but were unable to find her.

– Ceara Lynn Brown, 22, East Palestine, was cited for driving under suspension on South Elm at 1:17 a.m. Monday.

Salem

– A North Madison woman reported at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday she heard a scratching noise in the southwest corner of her home. The officer saw it was a mouse in the heating vent.

– A Prospect Street man reported at 11:18 p.m. Monday he did wanted a tenant out. He was told it is a civil matter and to start the eviction process.

– Carl Landsberger reported at 4:11 p.m. Monday someone cut the strap on a semi trailer flatbed parked in a lot on West Wilson and stole a large blue tarp.

– A woman on Depot Road reported Monday an ongoing harassment problem. She said she left Walmart at 11:18 a.m. and saw the woman trying to get into her car , then run into the store. No entry was made. She said she had a history of problems with the woman and wanted a report.

– An officer at 11:37 a.m. Monday tried to make contact with a resident on Stewart Avenue regarding a parking complaint.

– Police were called at 9:06 a.m. Monday to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard for a person to be removed. Police talked to the man, who said he didn’t live there but only stayed for the night. He was checked for warrants and none were found. He then left voluntarily.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Monday afternoon to a Pennsylvania Avenue residence for reports of a man trying to get into Eugene M. Smith’s apartment. Smith said he pushed Richard K. Lowe, 51, Lincoln Avenue, off the porch after the second time he tried to enter his home. After that, he said, Lowe tried to enter the apartment upstairs. Lowe told officers he was just trying to get into his apartment, but officers told him he wasn’t on the right street. Lowe told them he once lived on Pennsylvania Avenue and just forgot. He became belligerent with officers and was charged with disorderly conduct/intox-ication.

St. Clair Township

– Amy A. Smith, Milton Avenue, called to complain about neighbors playing their Christmas music too loudly and “being creeps.” The investigating officer reported having driven past the neighbor’s home shortly before Smith’s complaint and hearing the music being played low. When asked, the neighbors agreed to turn off their music for the night. The officer reported this seems to be an ongoing neighborhood dispute.

– Jarrod D. Bloor, no address listed, reported fraudulent activity on his Home Savings bank card.

– Officers were called to a Mary Street residence where they found an 18-year-old woman lying on the floor in the hallway, crying and saying she wanted to die. She was transported by North Star Critical Care ambulance to the hospital. Her mother told officers she had been at the neighbor’s house and had been sneaking liquor, which is why she was in the state she was in.

Salem

– An anonymous caller at 5:38 a.m. Monday reported a man sleeping on the steps of a residence in the 1500 block of East State Street. Officers made contact with the man who said he was coming from a friend’s house. He denied any need for medical attention and was sent on his way.

– A woman reported a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of Hawley Avenue at 1:25 a.m. Monday, saying the vehicle was parked in the apartment complex lot for almost an hour. No vehicle was found.

– An officer spoke at 10:14 p.m. Sunday with a resident who had informa-tion about illegal drug activity. The information will be forwarded to the county Drug Task Force.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 9:50 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South Lincoln where a woman was having an argument with her boyfriend over her moving out. She said she was pushed by him, but no marks or injuries were observed. The man said he did not push her and the argument was verbal only. He said he would go to a relative’s house for the night.

– A caller at 8:43 p.m. Sunday reported a suspicious incident involving a gray older model van. She had been driving from Canfield to Salem on U.S. Route 62 at 4 a.m. and after leaving Canfield, the van was in front of her traveling slower than the posted speed limit. At some point, the van began slowing down and eventually came to a complete stop in front of her. The van subsequently turned off its lights at which time she promptly turned around in a driveway and took a different route to Salem. The incident occurred outside the city, but police documented it to inform others of the suspicious incident. The caller didn’t get the plate number and was uncertain of the number of occupants.

– Officers responded to the 1100 block of North Ellsworth after receiving a call about a suicide attempt at 8:17 p.m. Sunday. Officers found an adult male had jumped from the roof of his residence onto a vehicle. He was transported from the scene by KLG Ambulance with unknown injuries.

– A 16-year-old Salem boy was cited for failure to control after an accident in the 1700 block of Pearce Circle at 7:49 p.m. Sunday. The juvenile was driving west nearing a bend in the road when he reported an animal ran out in front of him and he accidentally pressed the gas instead of the brake as he swerved to avoid it. The vehicle slid sideways across the road and a driveway, striking a garbage container and continuing to slide. The vehicle then struck a rock landscape wall and briefly went airborne, continuing across the lawn and striking a tree head on. The juvenile was wearing his seatbelt and had no visible injuries but reported sore ribs. Fire department first responders were called to the scene and his parents arrived and said he would be taken to SRMC to be checked out.

– An intoxicated driver was reported on Jennings at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, but the vehicle was not found.

Leetonia

– An officer responded to High Street at 4:54 p.m. Nov. 14 and Columbia Street at 11:52 a.m. Nov. 16 for reports of suspicious people.

– An officer took a report of a possible theft in the 200 block of Ridge Nov. 17.

– Police responded to a noise complaint, possibly banging in the garage, at 470 Somer St. at 1:42 a.m., but found no noise.

Salem fire calls

– Firefighters were called at 7:48 a.m. Monday to the 2500 block of East State Street for a power line down. It was determined the line was for cable TV and moved.

– Firefighters responded to an animal call at a residence in the 700 block of North Ellsworth at 9:10 p.m. Sunday to remove a bat.

Police

County Sheriff

– Kalijha Talbott, Osbourne Road, Salineville, was stopped for an alleged stop sign violation on Clarks Mill Road at 2:46 a.m. Sunday. Talbott, who has two previous OVIs in the past six years, was charged with OVI. His blood alcohol level was .231. He admitted having seven beers in the past two hours.

– Rosemary Nickell, North Shore Drive, Beloit, reported at 2:06 a.m. Saturday a possible domestic dispute. Deputies spoke to Nickell, who said Natalie Champion left before deputies arrived. Nickell’s son, Greg Oler, denied there had been a domestic issue.

– Jeff Mazzei, Beech Street, Beloit, reported he wanted a person removed at 12:59 a.m. Monday. Deputies spoke to Constantina Covert, who said she has lived there for more than eight years, but she was just there to pick up her belongings. Deputies explained her intentions to Mazzei and how he could properly do a civil eviction.

– Sierra Zirrilo, Chester, W.Va., reported at 5:50 p.m. Sunday she divorced Andrew Smith on Oct. 1 and received custody of the two dogs in the settlement. She went away on Nov. 10 and Smith took the dogs to care for them while she was out of town. Smith returned one of the dogs on Sunday through her grandmother, but has kept the other one. She wanted deputies to go with her to read the microchip on Playboy so she could reclaim her terrier. She was told to contact her attorney.

– Rachel Phillips, U.S. 30, Minerva, reported at 3:50 p.m. Sunday their neighbor, Tom Green, came over and told her husband, Darrell Phillips, if he had a gun he would shoot him. Green also reportedly threatened to harm their animals. Deputies went to try to speak with Green, but he refused to listen and went back inside his home.

– Bill Carr, Wildwood Drive, Beloit, reported at 4:18 p.m. Sunday someone was shooting at decoys and a moving target on Westville Lake. Carr was concerned about pellets showering vehicles along the lake. Deputies sat in the area, but did not see or hear any shooting.

– Randy Dahmer, U.S. 62, Salem, reported suspicious activity in the area at 10:21 p.m. Saturday. Deputies sat in the Hidden Creek housing development, but did not see or hear anything unusual.

– An irate woman was reported at the Grimm residence, Canal Street, East Rochester, at 4 a.m. Sunday. Two Minerva police and deputies arrived after John Grimm had reported to Minerva police he dropped Denise Grimm off at her house after they were at the bar. Denise Grimm then reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and said she was going to kill everyone in the house. When deputies spoke to Denise Grimm, she was going through multiple emotions but denied grabbing a knife or threatening anyone else. She agreed to go to the hospital for an evaluation.

– A fight was reported by Gary Holloway at Lock 24 at 1:07 a.m. Sunday. However, everyone involved was gone when deputies arrived.

– A 16-year-old girl reported at 12:11 a.m. Sunday she and her 16-year-old friend were visiting her mother on Rose Drive, Lisbon. Her mother allegedly became intoxicated and tried to kick her daughter out the door. She also reportedly came at her and her friend got between them. The friend put her hands on the mother’s hands and the mother dug her nails into the girl’s hands. The friend’s mother was contacted and did not want to pursue any charges. She just wanted her daughter out of there. The first girl’s father arrived and took both girls home.

– William Halligan, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 11:13 a.m. Nov. 21, someone stole his black and stainless gas grill from his front porch the previous Monday night.

– Dennis Shetler, state Route 170, East Palestine, reported at 11:31 a.m. Nov. 19 his neighbor had been shooting earlier in the day in what he believed was an unsafe direction. Deputies walked through the woods and found Chris Felger had been shooting. Felger said he was testing a rifle after having some work done on it recently. He claimed he only fired a few rounds from his porch at a small tree in the woods. He was warned to find a proper backstop in the future.

– Joyce Borossa, Metz Road, Columbiana, reported at 1:48 p.m. Nov. 21 she was notified by Huntington Bank someone attempted to access her bank account several times in the past two weeks. The people calling are from Blue Fin Drive in Indianapolis, Ind. Deputies attempted to call the three telephone numbers, but there was no answer.

– Minerva police were notified of an open door at a home on U.S. 30, Minerva. The woman who owns the home was reportedly in the hospital. Deputies and Minerva police checked the house and found a man, Tom Green, had just moved into the house. Dispatchers called the woman, who said Green was allowed to move there.

– Curtis Elliott, Pancake Clarkson Road, Negley, reported at 12:49 a.m. Monday a possible domestic dispute in another apartment. Deputies spoke with Ashley Mor and Marvis Brogdon, who said they had been drinking and arguing. Mor threw a clock at Brogdon, but missed him. Brogdon was visiting and both decided they just wanted to go to bed.

– Sam Lentini, Clarkson Road, Rogers, reported at 7:57 p.m. Sunday his mother sold her home last week and has 30 days to move out, but on Saturday the new owner came and placed tree stands on the property in preparation for the upcoming deer season. Lentini was told if the deal has closed and the mother has the money for the house, the new owner may be able to use the property. However, if he would want to enter the house for any reason, the new owner would have to notify his mother of his intentions.

– Mindy Growe, Sherwood Drive, Wellsville, reported at 8:54 p.m. Sunday someone scattered five to 10 pounds of nails over the first 40 to 50 feet at the end of her driveway. She had been away for a couple hours.

Highway Patrol

– Richard A. Dyke, 49, Quay Road, Negley, was westbound on Quay Road in Middleton Township at 4:57 p.m. Nov. 24 when his vehicle was struck by a falling tree. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a suspicious person at PNC Bank on South Main Street at 1:10 a.m. Sunday and found the man was just there enjoying the weather and there were no problems.

– Police and firefighters assisted the highway patrol with a traffic crash on Heck Road near state Route 7 at 11:39 a.m. Sunday.

– A man reported at 2:35 p.m. Sunday three cars were illegally parked on Elm Street near Heartland Christian School. Police contacted the owner and advised them to have the vehicles moved.

Lisbon

– Ashley Cunningham, Fife Coal Road, Lisbon, reported Nov. 24 her car was struck in the parking lot while she was working at the Shale Tavern. The damage was to the front bumper and fender.

– A resident of Applegrove Apartments reported hearing noises around her window at 5:07 a.m. Nov. 26. Police arrived to find someone from Time-Warner Cable doing some work.

– Luke Buckle reported there was a cat locked inside a car near the Subway at 8:19 p.m. Saturday. Police found the driver, Kayla Brown, inside the Subway, who said she found the cat by the dumpster and was planning on taking it home.

– David Todd, North Jefferson Street, reported at 4:55 p.m. Sunday someone was removing items from the shed of his neighbor’s now vacant home. Police found Nathan L. Beam of Aliquippa, Pa., who said his friend was the former tenant and he had given him permission to take what what he wanted. Beam was told he would need to make arrangements with the property owner, not the former renter.

– Police were called to Applegrove Apartments at 3:43 p.m. Sunday, where a resident claimed she was being harassed by another resident.

– Loretta Mattern, Maple Street, reported at 7 p.m. Friday some juveniles were knocking on her neighbor’s window and this has been going on for a while. The officer spoke with the mother of the suspects and told them to quit it.

– The owner of the Clip Joint, Sherman Street, reported Nov. 20 the neigh-bors keep driving through her grass, damaging the back lawn. An officer spoke with the persons responsible and they agreed to quit driving through the grass.

– Matt Landers, North Beaver Street, reported at 10 p.m. Nov. 19 that someone tried to break into his home about 10 minutes before. Police checked the area but did not find anyone around.

– Taylor Merriman, North Marker Street, reported Sunday her boyfriend grabbed her by the neck and pinned her to the wall while they were arguing, and then he left. She declined to press charges,.

Goshen Police District

– Michael R. Jordan, 35, 375 High St., Washingtonville, was cited for OVI, left of center, reckless operation, no seatbelt and failure to comply after a traffic stop on state Route 14 in Green Township at 6:27 p.m. Wednesday. He was driving on a front flat tire and tried to elude police, causing the tire to fly off the rim and into oncoming traffic, before stopping at Lisbon Canfield Road.

– Gregory S. Hamilton, 19, Pittsburgh, was cited for right of way at stop signs at 9:52 p.m. Friday. Driving on state Route 165, he failed to yield at state Route 45, striking a vehicle driven by Alisha J. Labrake, 31, Leetonia.

– Sarah E. Bobby, 19, 750 Park Ave., Salem, was cited for OVI, underage consumption and failure to control after she wrecked at state Routes 14 and 165 at 6:23 a.m. Saturday. She left the scene and was found by Salem police at her home.

– Alyshia Louise Gorby, 17, 1368 E. South Range Road, North Lima, was cited for driving under suspension and no headlights after a traffic stop by a patrolling officer in Boardman Township at 10:58 p.m. Saturday.

– Taylor J. Liebhart, 23, 18395 Fifth St. 203W, Beloit, was cited for possession of a controlled substance and a missing headlight after a traffic stop in Green Township at 12:14 a.m. Sunday.

– Raymond R. Ross Jr., 33, 10678 Detwiler Road, Canfield, was cited for OVI, following too closely and a turn signal violation after a traffic stop by a patrolling officer in Boardman Township at 2:22 a.m. Sunday.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded Thursday to the New Dimension on Anderson Boulevard for a report of someone breaking out a window, with the person suspected leaving on foot. They located David J. Warren, 49, Longs Church Road, with alcohol on his breath, poor balance, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, walking on Anderson Boulevard. He was reportedly in the process of texting the alleged victim at the time. He was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication and criminal damaging.

– Called to Bank Street for a man dressed in black acting suspiciously, officers spoke to Joshua L. Boyd, 19, Grant Street, who they said had a checkbook whose owner he didn’t know and also could not identify items in his pockets. He was charged with petty theft.

– Stacie M. Jones, Ceramic Street, reported someone broke out her daughter’s bedroom window.

– Sara Muschweck, College Street, reported two car windows broken out. She will review a surveillance system that was installed after the first time this happened to see if she can tell who did it.

– Edward Wright, West Sixth, reported someone broke his door, but nothing seemed to be missing.

– Danielle Mercer, St. Clair Avenue, reported that, while she was gone, her dog turned up missing from her apartment. She told police the last time this occurred, a neighbor in another apartment had her dog, but officers checked and the dog wasn’t there. She showed police how she uses a rag to keep the door shut since the lock doesn’t work.

– Brian D. Miller, Almont Street, reported his girlfriend’s diamond ring missing from his home.

– During a traffic stop on Walnut Street, officers reported that passenger John Tukes, 43, no address listed, was found trying to hide a glass pipe with a charred end. They said he refused to exit the car and after being removed, began fighting them. Tukes was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. The pipe will be sent for testing, with additional charges possible.

– Dylan Lovett, no address listed, reported leaving his car in front of Bricker’s on Sixth Street with the keys in it and, when he returned, it was gone.

St. Clair Township

– Robert Z. Myers, 24, Toronto, was charged with petty theft after employees of Walmart reported seeing him stuffing 22 DVDs into his coveralls and leaving the store without paying for them. When confronted by store personnel, Myers reportedly started to run then stopped and was taken inside to wait for police.

Saline Township

– police Sunday arrested Travis Mosti, 33, Hammondsville, on charges of OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.

Highway Patrol

– Ralph Frattaroli, 63, Manor Avenue, Poland, was westbound on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township and failed to maintain control at 3:15 a.m. Friday. He went off the right side of the road and struck two culverts. Frattaroli was cited with failure to maintain reasonable control.

– An International Harvester Co. cargo van vehicle owned by EAN Holdings of Chardon was parked facing northbound in the southbound lane of state Route 45 in Salem Township at 3:15 p.m. Nov. 18. Both the driver and passenger were out of the vehicle making a delivery and the driver stated he set the parking brake before getting out. The vehicle rolled down the hill into the ditch.

– Don F. Call, 43, Memorial Road, Kensington, was westbound on state Route 518 in Wayne Township at 10:22 p.m. Nov. 22, when he lost control and drove off the right side of the road into a ditch. Call was cited with failure to maintain reasonable control. Call left the scene of the crash, but came to the post the next day to pick up his ticket.

County Sheriff

– Jack McFarland, Metz Road, New Waterford, reported at 11:08 a.m. Sunday he heard what sounded like shots from a shotgun and pellets going through the weeds. Deputies checked the area and heard shots in the distance, but nothing close.

– Jeff Hall, Mahoning Avenue, Alliance, reported at 12:36 p.m. Sunday his neighbor has a pit bull, which runs loose and he has had problems with the dog in the past. Hall’s friend, David Ludwig was out in the backyard sighting in a gun when the dog came over and bit Ludwig in the upper thigh. The dog did not break the skin and the owner came over, apologized and left.

– A possible domestic dispute was reported at the home of Kaitlyn Kleinknecht, Lisbon Road, Leetonia, at 8:26 p.m. Friday. Deputies spoke to Kleinknecht who said she and her boyfriend, Eric Greathouse, argued about her cell phone. He was trying to get her phone, when he injured her wrist. She did not want to file charges.

Columbiana

– Police assisted the highway patrol by checking on a car in a ditch on Lower Elkton Road at Lisbon Road at 2:14 a.m. Saturday.

– After stopping a BMW on East Park Avenue at 4:23 a.m. Saturday, police found there was a confiscation order for the vehicle’s license plates and registration. Police followed the driver to their nearby residence and spoke to the owner, Samantha Harrold, 23, Columbiana. The plates were confiscated.

– While draining the creek near the bridge at Camelot Drive, someone reported finding a suspicious item at 7:59 a.m. Saturday. It was a metal post with electrical tape on the end.

East Palestine

– Michael A. Anderson, 40, Bacon Avenue, was stopped on Park Avenue at Edgeworth Avenue at 11:26 p.m. Friday. He was cited with OVI and failure to use a turn signal.
