Salem City Health District to host resource fair Saturday

SALEM — The Salem City Health District will hold its fifth annual Health Resource Fair Saturday. The fair will be held in Waterworth Memorial Park from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Saturday, coinciding with the annual Art in the Park festival, presented by Myers Family Insurance. Health Commissioner Chelsea Clark said that the fair would be held in a new location within the park by the Sunset Boulevard parking lot near the dog park and nature trail. Beaver Local board recognizes bus driver who assisted in dog attack

LISBON — A Beaver Local school bus driver was recognized for her bravery by the Board of Education this month for her actions during an emergency situation she witnessed near Lake Tomahawk in May. Commissioners award train depot renovation project to New Waterford company

LISBON — Columbiana County commissioners recently awarded the contract for the East Palestine Train Depot renovation project to Dynamic Structures of New Waterford for $889,545. “We’re anticipating starting work in the first week of July,” Project Coordinator Haedan Panezott of the county Port Authority said. The Port Authority is serving as administrator of the $250,000 state grant awarded toward the project from the Target of Opportunity Program Community Development Block Grant through the Ohio Department of Development and is overseeing the project. Low-cost rabies vaccination clinic scheduled for July

LISBON — The Columbiana County Health District is partnering with Lisbon Veterinary Clinic, the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center and the Columbiana County Fair Board to host a Reduced Rabies Prevention Clinic. The clinic will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the fairgrounds in the Columbiana County Vaccination Complex (CCVC). The CCVC is accessible by using the Vista gate entrance located of off Vista Drive, Lisbon. The cost per dose is $5, and only cash payments will be accepted. Come prepared with exact change.
