Pennsylvania man charged for gold coin scam

LISBON — A Pennsylvania man charged for his involvement in an alleged scam involving gold coins had his cases in Columbiana County Municipal Court bound over to the county grand jury. Charges against Vashist Gadela, 30, Erie, Pa., include fourth-degree felony theft and misdemeanor possessing criminal tools. Alliance man identified as person who threatened Knox school

BELOIT — The individual charged for making a threat toward the Knox school building has been identified. Austin Offill, 19, Alliance, was arrested Friday by the Alliance Police Department, charged with third-degree felony making terroristic threats for allegedly posting three comments on unrelated YouTube videos stating that he “wanted to shoot up Knox.” Those threats prompted the building to temporarily close Aug. 26-28 before re-opening Aug. 31 with a police officer stationed at the building during the school day. EP Village Council looks to create a new police supervisor position

EAST PALESTINE — Increased demands at the local police department have resulted in a need for a more self-sufficient Communications Center, Police Chief Chris Weingart explained Tuesday.
