Salem council approves amended resolution for parks renewal levy

SALEM — City council Tuesday night approved an amended resolution declaring a necessity for renewing the park department’s recreational levy. Council unanimously approved two resolutions declaring it necessary to present the renewal of the 1.3-mill levy to voters in Columbiana and Mahoning counties, respectively, in the upcoming general election on Nov. 3. Liverpool Township trustees vote to place fire levy on November ballot

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — During Tuesday’s meeting of the Liverpool Township Board of Trustees, the trustees approved the placement of a fire levy on the November General Election Ballot. If it passes the 1.45-mill additional levy should generate approximately $127,000 and would cost homeowners $51 per $100,000 tax valuation. County commissioners authorize engineer's office to seek bids for manholes project

LISBON — A Columbiana County engineer’s project to replace and rehabilitate manholes along Dresden Avenue in St. Clair Township received the go-ahead from commissioners to seek bids for the first phase of work. Commissioners on Wednesday authorized the engineer advertising for bids, which will be opened at 9 a.m. Aug. 19 at the engineer’s office.
