Liverpool Township trustees approve 2027 budget

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP – The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees met in a regular session meeting and followed that with a budget hearing meeting to approve the 2027 budget on Tuesday. During the Budget Hearing, the trustees unanimously approved the 2027 budget as prepared by Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati. According to the approved budget the township estimates a total revenue for 2027 of approximately $1,650,921.15, with $169,427.15 in the General Fund; $15,019 in Motor Vehicle Tax; $145.06 in Gasoline Tax; $485,350 Road and Bridge Fund; $27,656 Permissive Motor Vehicle Tax; $5,800 ...

Another status hearing set in 2021 murder case

LISBON — Another status hearing is now set for 11:30 a.m. Aug. 6 in the aggravated murder case against Curtis D. Holland, the man identified by prosecutors as the other shooter allegedly involved in the 2021 murder of Brycen Douglas. East Liverpool receives $75,000 grant for brine making machine

EAST LIVERPOOL — The street department has received funds for a brine making machine. Service/Safety Director Bill Jones told council members during their June 1 meeting that the street department received a $75,000 grant for a brine making machine and applicator which can help reduce salt use next winter and make it easier to plow the roads by reducing the ability of ice and snow to attach to the pavement. LISBON — The owner of the second dog accused of attacking and seriously injuring a woman on May 15 at Lake Tomahawk recently filed an appeal to challenge the vicious dog designation against her dog, Beau, with a hearing set for 2 p.m. June 15 in Columbiana County Municipal Court.
