CCBDD approves additional funds to fix school roof

LISBON — The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities Wednesday voted in favor of spending an additional $10,0000 to fix the roof on EDI South. The work is to be done by Hissom Roofing and Construction. The board had previously approved the roof repair at a cost of $49,000. CCBDD Superintendent Bill Devon said repairs to the main roof of the building had been previously approved, but that there is an additional roof on the back of the building and some awnings that needed repaired and that’s what the additional funding is for. Salem council approves contract with utilities union

SALEM — City council approved a new union contract for the utilities department at its meeting Tuesday. Following an approximately 20-minute executive session for the discussion of pending contractual negotiations, council unanimously approved a new collective bargaining agreement with Utilities Workers Union of America AFL/CIO Local 560, the union which represents the city’s utilities workers.
