East Palestine police investigating drive-by shooting on West Martin Street

EAST PALESTINE — Village police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred early Sunday on West Martin Street. Lt. Don Johnson released a statement via social media Sunday morning stating that the shooting occurred in the 800 block of West Martin Street and it is believed it was a targeted incident and there is currently no threat to the public. He said the shots were fired from a passing vehicle into a home on West Martin Street. West Branch school board approves updates, financing for Knox school

BELOIT — The West Branch school board will be updating the heating and cooling systems at Knox Elementary. The board recently contracted with TRANE for the project and approved a lease purchase agreement to finance it. Superintendent Matthew Manley said the project will include a new roof, boilers and eco-management system to make the building more energy efficient. SALEM — City council recently recognized Salem High School’s track and field standouts. SALEM — Some system hiccups continue as work winds down on phase three upgrades at the wastewater treatment plant.
