Local medical facility to honor first responders

SALEM — Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center will host a lunch to honor Salem’s first responders Wednesday. “We need to recognize our first responders. They do so many things and often put themselves in harm’s way, and a lot of people take that for granted,” said Blossom Clinical and Community Liaison Kathy McCoy. Hanover Township Historical Society moving to United Local campus

HANOVERTON — The Hanover Township Historical Society is moving to a new location. Following meetings with the United Local School District, the historical society was recently granted a lease to use two classrooms in the BC Building, formerly known as the Brautigam Center. The lease is for $1 a year and is continuing until either party gives a 30-day notice to vacate. NEW ALEXANDER -- The Columbiana County Federation of Conservation Clubs, in partnership with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, is hosting a youth Pheasant Hunt in Columbiana County Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the Zepernick Wildlife Area, 26687 state Route 172, New Alexander. Hours are 8 a.m. to sunset on Saturday and sunrise to sunset on Sunday. The federation plans to release 60 ring-necked pheasants prior to the hunt.
