CANFIELD — Patrick Havas, who is alleged to have lunged at Amy Acton, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate, during an incident Sunday afternoon at the Canfield Fair, did not commit any offenses that rise to felonies, Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro said. BELOIT — The individual charged for making a threat toward the Knox school building has been identified. Austin Offill, 19, Alliance, was arrested Friday by the Alliance Police Department, charged with third-degree felony making terroristic threats for allegedly posting three comments on unrelated YouTube videos stating that he “wanted to shoot up Knox.” Those threats prompted the building to temporarily close Aug. 26-28 before re-opening Aug. 31 with a police officer stationed at the building during the school day. EAST PALESTINE — Increased demands at the local police department have resulted in a need for a more self-sufficient Communications Center, Police Chief Chris Weingart explained Tuesday.
