East Liverpool receives $75,000 grant for brine making machine

EAST LIVERPOOL — The street department has received funds for a brine making machine. Service/Safety Director Bill Jones told council members during their June 1 meeting that the street department received a $75,000 grant for a brine making machine and applicator which can help reduce salt use next winter and make it easier to plow the roads by reducing the ability of ice and snow to attach to the pavement. LISBON — The owner of the second dog accused of attacking and seriously injuring a woman on May 15 at Lake Tomahawk recently filed an appeal to challenge the vicious dog designation against her dog, Beau, with a hearing set for 2 p.m. June 15 in Columbiana County Municipal Court. LEETONIA — The village of Leetonia will be celebrating the grand opening of the new restrooms at the Wurster Memorial Splash Pad with an evening of family fun Friday. GOSHEN TOWNSHIP — A portion of Duck Creek Road will be repaved next year thanks to a nearly $200,000 grant.
