Columbiana council eyes proactive approach to data centers
COLUMBIANA — With an increase in data centers coming to the state, the city may want to take a proactive approach to whether they should be allowed to operate locally, a member of council said recently. Council President Skip Liston broached the subject during the Sept. 1 council meeting. While calling Flock Safety automatic license plate reader cameras effective when used properly, Attorney General Andy Wilson said the state Legislature should criminalize their misuse. Wellsville officials receive update on road conditions
WELLSVILLE – Village officials recently received an update on roadwork being conducted by businesses in the area. At the most recent council meeting, Mayor Bob Boley requested an update on the work being completed by Marathon and other businesses in the area, noting Marathon is spending $8 million on extra lanes and the village should be receiving a percentage of that. SALEM — City council was updated on the city’s trap, neuter, release (TNR) project during its meeting Tuesday. Salem TNR Project Coordinator Brenda Austin told council that after a year of running the city’s TNR project, she felt the city’s animal ordinance needed revisions to better address feral cat populations within the city as intended.
