NORTH GEORGETOWN - The West Branch Area Ladies Ruritan Club needs volunteers to join the club as membership is decreasing in numbers.

Chartered in 1993 the club is a service organization that serves the community with fellowship, goodwill and service. The club hosts bake sales to raise money so they can donate to local organizations, and currently supports Sophia Women's Center, Clothed in Righteousness, Alliance Pregnancy Center, Habitat for Humanity, Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter, Alliance for Children & Families, Ronald McDonald House, North Georgetown Church of the Brethren, Operation We Care, and The Ohio State University Extension Office (4-H). The club also awards a local high school student with a scholarship each year.

The October meeting was held on Monday, Oct. 27, in North Georgetown and began with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by members singing "God Bless America" and a prayer. The September minutes and treasurer's report were given and approved as read. Tentative dates were discussed for the Christmas party and will be firmed up at the Nov. 16 meeting. The meeting adjourned and refreshments were enjoyed.
