DARLINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – There was a standoff in Beaver County Friday morning.
It happened in Darlington Township, just across the state line from East Palestine.
The Beaver County Sheriff's Office and Chippewa Police Department responded to Taggart Road to serve a warrant out of Ohio when deputies say a man barricaded himself in a shed and said he wasn't coming out.
Brian Scott was living at 112 Taggart Road, Darlington, Pa, and had two full extradition warrants out of the state of Ohio. The Warrants Division confirmed that the warrants were valid.
The first warrant was out of Mahoning County for failure to verify his current residence as required for sexual offenders.
The second warrant was out of Ohio State Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections Adult Parole.
"(Scott) barricaded himself in a shed at the residence. We called out the local emergency services unit, the SWAT unit -- they came out and started hailing the guy inside," said Beaver County Sheriff Tony Guy. "He made some threats against the officers that were there and against himself, actually."
Deputies said the man eventually walked out of the shed with his hands up.
Guy said no one was hurt during Friday morning's incident.
Scott is being held in the Beaver County Jail awaiting extradition. Local charges are pending.
