LISBON -- The man accused of allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old juvenile in the restroom at a football game Oct. 23 at Patterson Field in East Liverpool will now have his case considered by the Columbiana County Grand Jury.

Romelo Ka'Ron Harrison, 19, McCoy Avenue, East Liverpool, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday before county Municipal Court Judge Danielle Menning, who bound his case over to the grand jury for charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.

Harrison remains jailed under a bond of $500,000 cash or surety, with orders to have no contact by any means with the victim and no possession of firearms or weapons of any kind.

If by some chance he posts the bond, he will be monitored through electronically monitored house arrest.

According to a court affidavit by East Liverpool Police Detective Jon Price, the juvenile male was stabbed three times and suffered life-threatening injuries that caused him to be lifeflighted to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Police had been called Oct. 23 to West Eighth Street at Westgate Middle School near the football field regarding a stabbing, with the victim coming out of a men's bathroom and asking a police officer nearby for help.

According to the affidavit by Price, the tampering charge stems from Harrison's alleged disposal of the knife used in the stabbing and his attempt to dispose of his clothing used in the commission of the offense.

Harrison wasn't taken into custody until Saturday afternoon, the day after the stabbing.

According to online court records, he had been sentenced to 20 days in jail in August for a theft case from this year and for violating the terms of his probation for a February case this year of assault, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
