LISBON -- Three veteran Columbiana County officeholders, all Republicans, will remain in office next year with new terms since they're unopposed on the Nov. 3 ballot for re-election.

Commissioner Mike Halleck, of Salem, is seeking his fifth straight four-year term since returning to the county courthouse as a commissioner in 2011, previously serving as a commissioner from 1994 to 1999. He also previously served multiple years as a Perry Township trustee.

Auditor Nancy Gause Milliken, of the Guilford Lake area, is seeking another four-year term as the county auditor, a position she's held since 2000, previously working as a bookkeeper under the late county Auditor Pat Hadley and winning re-election multiple times.

Probate/Juvenile Court Judge Thomas M. Baronzzi of Lisbon is seeking another six-year term on the bench. He was appointed in January 2001 and then elected to his first full-term in 2002, also winning re-election multiple times.

No Democratic candidates filed for the positions and none of them faced challenges in the primary.

Two local D-6 liquor options for businesses looking to add Sunday sales will appear on the ballot in their particular precincts, including American Legion John Adams Post 442 in Salineville for the Salineville precinct and Quaker Beverage, doing business as Gene's Drive-Thru, for the Salem 2A precinct.
