SEBRING -- Students at Sebring Local Schools were surprised with ice cream for breakfast and lunch on Friday in celebration of the district's first-ever four-star state report card rating. The rating is the highest state assessment in district history since the state adopted the star-rating system.
The district-wide ice cream party was organized by the Sebring Local Education Association in recognition of the successful collaboration of students, teachers, staff, and families to achieve the historic growth and improved performance index rates. Totally 80s Ice Ice Cream Shoppe served the ice cream for the event.
Sebring Local Schools Superintendent Scott Cassidy remarked, "To see Sebring Local earn a 4-star overall rating -- anchored by 5-star marks in both graduation rate and career readiness -- is an incredible milestone for our district. Our 3% gain in achievement reflects the hard work of veteran staff, administrators, and the outstanding efforts of students who are performing on grade level or higher. Every single student who walks out of our doors is equipped to enroll, enlist, or gain immediate employment, and I couldn't be more proud of our students and their bright futures."
