SALEM--Goodness Glow Company is eager to work with Salem residents to support their health and overall well-being.
Goodness Glow Company opened its doors at 1129 E. State St. on July 9 and offers a slate clinically proven wellness and weight loss treatments including red light and vibration therapy, 3D body scanning, genetic testing and multi-modal wellness pod treatments.
Goodness Glow Company Clinic Director and owner Lara Guest has decades of experience working in and running med spas and red-light therapy and is board certified in the use of class one through four lasers. She said that red light and vibration treatment is popular for weight loss and overall wellness which can increase fat loss, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and is beneficial for the lymphatic system. She said that since it addresses issues with inflammation that other common forms of treatment don't, red light is beneficial as both a standalone treatment and in conjunction with treatments like glp-1s.
"Red light therapy is everywhere now, it's all over social media. You can get red-light masks on Amazon now. People are really becoming more aware of the benefits of red-light therapy. I have 20 years of experience in red-light therapy and it's a clinically proven treatment that is tried and tested," Guest said.
Guest said that the wellness pod was multi-modal full-body treatment that utilizes infrared heat, pulsed electro-magnetic frequency (PEMF), negative ion, and medical-grade red light therapy to reduce inflammation, increase oxygen flow, and improve overall body function. She said that the 30-minute treatments work at the cellular level to heal bone and tissue issues and is often used by patients with inflammation, neuropathy, or diabetes, and athletes to reduce pain and recovery times.
Guest said that prior to opening Goodness Glow Company she oversaw Sono Bello in Pittsburgh, initially living in Salem and commuting to Pittsburgh for five years before moving there full-time to attend to familial concerns. She said that she purchased a home on the same street in Salem where she used to live roughly a year ago following the passing of her mother and brother and has been living in Salem since.
Guest said that after returning to Salem she was inspired to open Goodness Glow Company to offer a level of tailored support and medical expertise she felt was not broadly available in the area for people on a journey to look and feel their best, in whatever form that may take. She said she also wanted to provide a space where people could feel comfortable discussing their goals and wellness journey and form a personal connection with staff.
"I've always liked being able to provide people with those resources and offer that support. A lot of med spas can be very cold and clinical, and I want to make sure that people know as soon as they come in that this is a place where they can be comfortable and we can have fun," Guest said.
As part of their individualized approach, Goodness Glow Company conducts an in-depth consultation with all patients to review their goals, develop a tailored treatment plan to suit their needs, and screen for any potential contraindications. She explained that while red light is generally safe, people with light sensitivity, heart disease, or issues with circulation and strokes could have interactions, while people with internal electronic devices like pacemakers cannot receive PEMF treatment.
Guest said that Goodness Glow Company also conducts full-body 3D scans before and after treatment to track the impacts of treatments on patients' bodies like changes to body fat percentage, limb size, and muscle mass. She said their genetic testing also allows them to identify a patient's body will respond to different types of stimuli and design customized diet and exercise plans suited to their unique physical pre-dispositions.
Guest said that Goodness Glow Company focuses primarily on serving the weight loss and wellness needs of woman aged 40 and older and has developed a custom program which she said emphasizes providing a level of individual support that population often doesn't receive in medical care. However, she also stressed that people of any age and gender can benefit from the services Goodness Glow Company offers.
Guest said that Goodness Glow Company was also launching a program collaborating with local manufacturers to place employees for treatments through their human resources department, and that the treatment plans can be tailored to suit the needs of companies' individual work forces.
Guest also said that they have an introductory rate for new clients to receive a red-light or wellness pod treatment and a full consultation to determine if their treatment options are a good match for the patient and their long-term wellness goals.
