LISBON -- The man accused of allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old juvenile during the football game Friday night at Patterson Field in East Liverpool will face a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Nov. 2.

Romelo Ka'Ron Harrison, 19, McCoy Avenue, East Liverpool, made his initial appearance for arraignment in Columbiana County Municipal Court via video Monday morning before Judge Danielle Menning.

He's charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and remains jailed under a bond of $500,000 cash or surety. The bond was originally $50,000 cash or surety.

If by chance he posts the bond, he will be monitored through electronically monitored house arrest. The terms of the bond include having no contact by any means with the victim and no possessing of firearms or weapons of any kind.

On Friday, East Liverpool Police Detective Jon Price responded to West Eighth Street at Westgate Middle School near the football field regarding a stabbing. The 16-year-old stabbing victim, a male, was stabbed three times and suffered life-threatening injuries that caused him to be lifeflighted to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

According to the affidavit by Price, the tampering charge stems from Harrison's alleged disposal of the knife used in the stabbing and his attempt to dispose of his clothing used in the commission of the offense.

According to previous published reports from WKBN, the incident took place in the men's bathroom and the victim came out and found a police officer nearby, asking the officer for help.

Harrison wasn't taken into custody until Saturday afternoon.

According to online court records, he had been sentenced to 20 days in jail in August for a theft case from this year and for violating the terms of his probation for a February case this year of assault, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
