LISBON -- The Lisbon school board made a lot of moves in recent meetings to prepare for the school year, including agreements to help maintain the buildings and personnel matters.
The board approved a proposal from Tremco of $6,851 for gym roof repairs and a one-year service agreement with Tremco for 16,942. With Gardiner, a three-year HVAC maintenance agreement was approved for $28,386 annually and a one-year Intelligent Service agreement was approved for 413,740 paid quarterly.
The board approved an agreement with Travco Behavioral Health, Inc. to provide counseling and wellness services to students at David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School for the 2026-2027 school year effective July 1, 2026 at a rate of $140.45 per day not to exceed $25,000 for the school year. Travco has providing services to the district for eight years. The board approved an agreement with The Red Zone for school based behavioral health help to students at McKinley Elementary at no cost to the district. Kemats said he's happy with the services provided. The company has been helping the past five or six years.
Board member Jennifer Whitman was named as a delegate to the Ohio School Board's Capital Conference, with board president TK Hiscox named as alternate.
The board approved one-year contracts for cafeteria meal services to the Opportunity School and the Board of Developmental Disabilities for the school year, accepted a donation from the Lisbon VFW of $3,200 for new coolers at the stadium, approved a memorandum of understanding with the Lisbon Education Association regarding an amendment to the high deductible health plan, approved North Star Critical Care for ambulance services for the football season (donated by North Star), approved an agreement with the Columbiana County Educational Service Center for Project Inspire services not to exceed $17,632, set bus routes and agreed on adult prices in the cafeteria as $3.05 for breakfast and $5.20 for lunch.
Facility use fees approved for the school year include: $200 per usage for event rental fee; gym practice rental fee of $50 per use; and personnel costs of $17 per hour for custodian and $16 per hour for food service.
The board set the following classified hourly substitute rates of pay: $18.50 for bus drivers; $15 for custodians and secretaries; $14.50 for cooks and $13 for aides.
The board also approved a one-year limited contract with Charity Adams as confidential administrative assistant, amended contracts with classified employees, McKinley secretary Katrina Williams and DAHS secretary Donna Cook, adjusted salaries due to degree advancement for certificated staff members Lauren Glenn and Madilyn Wrask for master's plus 15 and Madeleine Schreffler for bachelor's 150, approved a one-year limited contract with Mike Ward for academic tutoring and in school suspension, and a classified limit contract for bus driver Glenna Radar.
In other personnel matters, the board approved the following academic supplemental contracts: senior class advisor and high school English Festival Michael Miller; junior class advisor Dave Pancurak; sophomore class advisor Linda D'Ippolito, freshman class advisor and McKinley reading department chair Gwen Weikart; health careers club Stephanie Wilson; high school student council and junior high student senate Candace Papp; chorus Jr/Sr. high school director and pep band director Dominic Meyer; junior high science club David Toot; Olympian advisor and Junior high school honors and builders and web page advisor Ashley Wallace; English festival junior high and department chair English language learners Teresa Crawford and PBIS Director-DAHS Natalie Vantilburg; assistant marching band director Caleb Elliott; McKinley reading club advisor Carmen Minor; elementary math club advisor Julie Mercer; elementary science club advisor Becky McCullough; elementary arts program director Heidi Swift; elementary student senate advisor Angela Sims; McKinley music program director Katie Farrington; high school art club advisor Jackson Kemats; Spanish club advisor and high school academic challenge Meredith Dingy; Student Voice advisor Alex Walker; Power of the Pen advisor Madison Daugherty; junior high academic challenge Janet Lane; high school science club Nikol Mundy; Math Counts advisor Ryan Snyder; National Honor Society advisor Lisa Baker; high school pep club advisor Alexa Cardona; high school math department chair Janet Lane; McKinley math department chair Kristi Slagle; and McKinley PBIS advisor Kristen Young.
Athletic supplementals approved included Rob Gregg and Josh Rhodes as volunteers for football and Katie Lobdell as a volleyball volunteer.
The board also: approved covering the Touchdown Club, Roundball Club, Band Boostes and Diamond Club under the district insurance program (with the Diamond Club inactive); approved a list of academic stipends for the 2026-2027 school year, including resident educator lead mentor and resident educator mentor Missy Kemats for Emily Boyark and Katie Farrington and resident educator mentor Carrie Smith for Jackson Kemats, LPDC chair Beth Devine, PPDC members Nikol Mundy, Kristi Slagle, Dave Pancurak and Steve Hlaudy, and Saturday school monitors Linda D'Ippolito, Dave Pancurak, Ryan Snyder, Meredith Dingy, Sarah Julian, Madison Daughterty and Dominic Meyer; approved online instructors for the summer credit recovery period, Ashley Wallace, Jon Burnell, Michael Miller, Meredith Dingy and Natalie Vantilburg at $50 per student per course; approved Justin Miller and Stacey Miller as athletic trainers for football for the season for $1,000 each; approved McKinley After School program instructors Becky McCullough, Angela Sims and Emily Boyarko; and approved substitute bus drivers Tab Bailey, Raema Gori, Kenijo Wood and Cory Wonner.
The next meeting of the school board will be 5 p.m today at the administration building.
