LISBON -- Jurors issued a guilty verdict Tuesday morning against a Lisbon man accused of possessing a bag of drugs when he was booked into the Columbiana County jail on an arrest warrant last December.

Bryan Dilling, 54, Rose Drive, Lisbon, will face sentencing at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 20 before Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Washam, who presided over the jury trial which started Monday morning and ended Tuesday with the verdict.

The charges included a second-degree felony of aggravated possession of drugs and fifth-degree felonies of possession of heroin and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, all stemming from the incident Dec. 18, 2025 when he was taken into custody on a bench warrant at his residence and taken to the jail. That's when the drugs were found on him.

He possessed fentanyl, heroin and an amount of methamphetamine equal or greater than five times bulk but less than 50 times bulk.

County Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Weeda said he'll be recommending the maximum sentence in the case. The second-degree felony carries a possible maximum penalty of eight to 12 years in prison. The fifth-degree felonies carry possible terms of six to 12 months.

Dilling was represented by defense attorney Joe King and testified on his own behalf. According to Weeda, the jury deliberated for a little over 20 minutes before issuing the verdict.

Weeda dismissed several charges that were included in the indictment for an incident that occurred Nov. 28, 2025, including fifth-degree felonies of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of heroin, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and possession of drugs for possessing methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and xylazine. Another charge dismissed was one from Dec. 18, 2025 for trafficking in drugs.
