EAST LIVERPOOL -- East Liverpool City Schools, in partnership with the East Liverpool High School band and cheerleaders, will bring Homecoming spirit to the heart of the city on Friday with a special Homecoming pep rally and parade celebrating students, alumni and generations of Potter Pride.

The festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Diamond in downtown East Liverpool, where students, staff, families, alumni and community members are invited to gather for a spirited pep rally. The Homecoming parade will step off at approximately 4:15 p.m., traveling from the Diamond to Patterson Field.

Leading this year's parade as grand marshal will be longtime Potter football superfan Bonnie Miller, whose connection to East Liverpool and Potter football spans more than eight decades.

Miller began attending Potter football games in 1945, the same year she and her husband were married. The couple held season tickets for approximately 70 years, and Miller has remained a familiar face in the stands, rarely missing a home game.

Her Potter roots extend throughout her family. Miller and her seven siblings attended East Liverpool, as did her three sons and grandchildren. Four generations of her family from her husband, son, grandson and great-grandson have played football for East Liverpool.

Now, Potter Nation will have the opportunity to recognize Miller and her extraordinary dedication as she leads the Homecoming celebration through the streets of her hometown.

The parade will also showcase the members of the East Liverpool High School 2026 Fall Homecoming Court, who will ride in convertibles: Izzy Buchheit, Paige Buchner, Aubrey Stevens, Adelyne McCready, Sierra Reed, Addison Buchheit, Paige Cowan and Hadley Dobbins.

The Homecoming Queen will be crowned later that evening during halftime of the Potters' varsity football game at Patterson Field.

In addition to the Homecoming Court, the parade will feature the East Liverpool football team, cheerleaders, marching band, Potter Pound and alumni, bringing together current students and generations of Potters for the celebration.

Upon arriving at Patterson Field, the football team will prepare for the evening's game while the Homecoming festivities continue with an alumni tailgate celebration near Potter Pete.

The Homecoming Court will later make its way around Patterson Field prior to the game as the community prepares for kickoff.

East Liverpool City Schools encourages students, staff, families, alumni and community members to wear blue and white, line the parade route and join in celebrating one of East Liverpool's most cherished traditions.
