LISBON - The CAA 2nd Annual Designer Purse Bingo is fast approaching and we'd love to have you take part in afternoon of fun, all for a great cause.
The event is planned Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Washingtonville VFW, 575 S. County Road, Washingtonville. Doors open at 3 p.m. that day, with bingo beginning at 4 p.m.
"This is our second year to offer this great event, with all proceeds benefiting our CAA Community Services' Healthier Food Pantry," said Tom Andrews, CEO of CAA of Columbiana County. "This food pantry is open to residents of Columbiana County throughout the year and provides individuals with pre-packaged boxes of canned goods, dry goods and fresh food," he said, adding with the Thanksgiving and holiday season coming up, the need for some residents will be growing.
Tickets for the purse bingo are $35 through Nov. 6 and include admission and one bingo game booklet. Tickets purchased at the door on Nov. 7 will be $40, with cash payment only. Those purchasing six or more tickets can reserve a table or seats, making it a great opportunity to gather friends and family for an afternoon of fun.
The event will feature 10 bingo games, each offering participants the chance to win a designer purse from brands such as Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Vera Bradley and Coach. A $10 bonus game will also be available, featuring a Marc Jacobs The Tote Bag as the prize. Bonus game tickets will be sold at the event.
"We have some beautiful designer purses and exciting prizes lined up this year, and we hope everyone comes out to enjoy the afternoon with us," said Lizbeth Bickel, purse bingo event co-chairman and CAA Executive Administrative Assistant.
There also will be nice consolation prizes awarded, should there be a tie in the bingo games.
Daubers will be available for $1 each, or you can bring your own, Bickel noted.
The fun continues with a 50/50 drawing, a Pick a Duck/Turkey game similar to a 50/50 and, of course, many raffle baskets that will be up for grabs.
Sloppy joes, nachos, baked goods and charcuterie boxes will be available for purchase, and drinks can be purchased from the VFW bar.
Cash and check payments can be made at CAACC's Administrative Offices, located at 7880 Lincoln Place, Lisbon, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Nov. 6. Exact change is requested for cash payments; checks should be payable to CAACC. To pay by card, email connect@caaofcc.org to request the payment link. For questions, call 330-424-7221 and ask for Liz Bickel or extension 108.
