CANFIELD (WKBN) - Three juvenile males from Warren have been taken into custody following a shooting incident that happened near the Canfield Fairgrounds on Fairground Boulevard Sunday night.
Canfield Police Chief Chuck Colucci says the search for the juveniles involved was comprehensive, involving 15 Canfield officers, 20 sheriff deputies and several K-9 units.
"With the drones, all the police officers and the canines, we did segment off all different areas, and then we expanded the boundaries as far as we possibly could," Colucci said. "We also reached out to hospitals, obviously, here in Youngstown, Trumbull County, East Liverpool, Portage County."
Police say they got the call at 11:20 p.m.
They also say a gun was found in a backyard behind a shed, and the juveniles detained admitted to shooting it.
Out of the three in custody, two of them are being charged.
Nobody was hurt.
In regards to both the shooting and the alleged assault at the MCDP tent that happened Sunday, a representative from the Fair Board said the following:
"Both incidents that occurred yesterday are ongoing investigations that are being handled by multiple jurisdictions. The Canfield Fair Board is not able to comment due to the ongoing nature. The Board is grateful that no one was seriously injured and the parties involved have been detained."
