EAST LIVERPOOL- Oktoberfest, hosted annually by Calcutta and East Liverpool Rotary clubs, will return for its 15th Year on Sept. 26 at Thompson Park.
The family friendly event, scheduled from noon to 8 p.m., will feature something for everyone including a variety of food vendors, a large selection of seasonal craft beers and wines, a kid zone, live entertainment, a Chinese auction and more.
David Bickerton, Rotary member and event co-organizer has previously described Oktoberfest as "a super family event that organizations work to make cost effective so families can hang out all day, play and enjoy themselves without breaking the bank."
Bickerton noted that this is the 15th year that the Rotary has hosted the event which is a result of the combined effort of the Calcutta Rotary Club and the East Liverpool Rotary Club.
"Both organizations donate the profits from the event to scholarships for East Liverpool High School and Beaver Local High School graduating seniors," Bickerton said. "In addition, we also support other area non-profit groups like F.I.S.H., Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Ups for Downs and more."
Custom beer mugs commemorating the event in half liter and full liter sizes will be available to purchase
Bickerton said that there are a lot of great partnerships with area businesses that help make the event possible, and Fairway GMC of Calcutta is again sponsoring the event.
Live entertainment will include live polka music from Kevin Solecki from noon to 4 p.m., and The Garrett Tatano Band from 4-8 p.m.
