New Waterford seeking water plant supervisor

NEW WATERFORD -- The Village of New Waterford is working to fill the water plant supervisor position.

Village Council approved Brandon Gates' resignation during the August regular meeting.

Gates served as the water plant supervisor for nearly seven years before tendering his resignation.

Mayor Shane Patrone said after the meeting that Gates submitted his resignation due to accepting a position with the City of Salem's water department.

"The position is temporarily filled while we work toward training another certified operator," Patrone said.

In other matters during the meeting council discussed the upcoming Music Festival.

The New Waterford Music Festival is scheduled for Friday and Saturday Sept. 18-19 at the village park on Village Park Drive and will feature live musical entertainment from Cold, Theriaca, Caution Bomb and Dauzat St. Marie on Friday and Adelitas Way, LYLVC, Paralandra, Clozure, and Dauzat St. Marie on Saturday.

Admission is $10 on Friday Sept. 18 and $15 on Saturday Sept. 19 with VIP Meet and Greets available.

Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate.

A variety of food will also be available for purchase.

The Music Festival is hosted by New Waterford Friends, a non-profit organization that gives all proceeds back to the community.
