EPGO fall gatherings announced

EAST PALESTINE - EPGO has announced its fall gatherings schedule. All gatherings are free and open to the public, held at The Way Station, 109 W. Rebecca St.

EPGO is a nonprofit organization created to be a community hub for healthy aging, lifelong learning, social connection, and community engagement, ensuring that every older adult has access to information, relationships, services and opportunities to thrive. - Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. - "Understanding Elder Law" Join Attorney W. David Keast for an informative discussion about Elder Law and the important legal issues that can affect you and your family as you age.

- Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. - "Medicare: What You Need to Know" Lyddy Jones of Reliable Consulting will update the group on current Medicare laws, changes and coverage options.

- Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. - "Take a Walk in the Shoes of Someone with Dementia" will be presented by Shirley Pieri, Director of Nursing at Christian House. This interactive presentation will help you gain greater insight, understanding and compassion for those affected by dementia.

- Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. - "EP Health Research Update" Misti Allison will present an update on the EP Train Derailment Health Research Program led by the University of Kentucky.

- Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. - "Caring for Aging Family Members" Karen Christian will discuss the different levels of care available for older family members and how to determine what type of support may be appropriate. She will also share creative and practical Christmas gift ideas for the older adults in your life.

- Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. - "Aging Gracefully: Skincare & Make up Tips" Join Ellen Rettig for an informative and fun talk about caring for your skin as you age and learning some makeup tips and techniques that work for mature skin.
