The home of Jeanette Thompson, 7639 Bye Road, has been selected by The Town & Country Garden Club of East Palestine as the August Garden of the Month. Thompson was presented with a $25 gift card from T&M Hardware. The yard is full of beautiful blooming trees, flowering bushes, and a wide variety of wildflowers. Most of the flowers are perennials with a few annuals. Trees include Japanese Maples, Rose of Sharon, Lavender Twist, Red Bud, and a Golden Dawn Redwood, which is her favorite. A large vegetable garden provides her with corn, tomatoes, beans, peppers, and zucchini. Thompson does all her own mowing, planting, preening, and designing of the layout for all her flowers. Having worked in a greenhouse for a number of years, she is very knowledgeable and experienced about what she plants, and it's evident with the beauty of her yard. Thompson currently works as a custodian at the East Palestine Middle School and High School.(Submitted photo)
