New Garden Methodist Church Rummage and Fabric Sale

New Garden Methodist Church, 7165 state Route 9, Hanoverton, will host its Church Rummage Sale and Giant Fabric Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 and 11 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 12. Fill a large bag for $5. There will be a large selection of yardage fabric of all types. Free hot dog and drink from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

St. Paul Parish Ministry Fair

St. Paul Parish in Salem will hold a "Ministry Fair" on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 18, at noon. This parish event is designed to showcase various ministries, encourage volunteerism (stewardship of time and talent), and express gratitude to current volunteers. The event will be held in the school cafeteria (enter in back of school) at 935 E. State St., 330-332-0336. It serves as an interactive opportunity to connect all parishioners with service opportunities, fostering community and increasing involvement in church life. It is also a way for any community members interested in the Catholic religion to learn more on how they can grow in faith with us. St. Paul was established in 1881 and also features a Catholic Elementary School (grades K-8) next to the church building. There will be food, prizes and something for all ages.

Free community seminar encourages everyone to find their voice

COLUMBIANA -- The Columbiana Arts Theater will host "Make a Joyful Noise," a free, non-denominational Christian community seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Designed for anyone who has ever felt hesitant, self-conscious, or afraid to sing out loud, the seminar offers an encouraging introduction to both the biblical inspiration for singing and the practical skills that can help participants become more confident using their voices. Hosts Shawn Theis and Greg Smith will begin the evening by exploring what Scripture says about the joy and purpose of singing before introducing participants to the basic mechanics of the human voice.

Topics will include:

¯ Why We Sing -- The Bible's case for lifting your voice

¯ How the Voice Works -- Breath, tone, and pitch made simple

¯ Finding Your Range -- Discovering where your voice naturally wants to live

¯ Singing Together -- Learning to blend in without disappearing

¯ The Joyful Commission -- Taking your voice and newfound confidence back to the pew

No previous singing experience is required, and the seminar is open to people from all denominations and backgrounds.

Lightning Express brings the music of The Everly Brothers to the CAT

COLUMBIANA -- The unforgettable harmonies and classic hits of one of rock and roll's most influential duos will come to life when Lightning Express - The Everly Brothers Tribute Band performs at The Columbiana Arts Theater on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 6:30 p.m. Audiences are invited to relive the music that helped shape generations of rock and pop artists as Lightning Express celebrates the legendary sound of The Everly Brothers. The evening will feature beloved favorites including "Bye Bye Love," "Wake Up Little Susie," "All I Have to Do Is Dream," "Cathy's Clown," and many more.

Hansell Family sponsoring Banquet in Salem in memory of Sandy Hansell

The Hansell Family is sponsoring the Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until food is gone Monday in honor of and in memory of Sandy Hansell on what would have been his 90th birthday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, cookies. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. Mental Health Education Program at Lepper Library

The Columbiana County Counseling Center will host a Mental Health Education Program with guest host Amy Gladman at 5 p.m. Aug. 20 and 27 at Lepper Library. This program offers free classes specifically designed for parents of 6th through 12th graders, emphasizing the vital role parents play in their children's emotional development, coping skills, and overall sense of security. Bigfoot Program at Lepper Library

Lepper Library in Lisbon will host a Bigfoot Program with Amy Bue at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31. Bue is an Ohio-based Bigfoot researcher, writer, and educator.

Small Farm and Homesteading Workshop

OSU Ext. and Columbiana SWCD are collaborating to present a small farm and land management field night at 5 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds, Arts and Crafts Building, 225 Lee Ave., Lisbon. Cost is $5 per person (refreshments included). To register call 330-967-7249. Topics will include Land Management and Conservation, Soil Health, Farm Management, Planning and Strategic Decision Making, Marketing your Products and Food Preservation.

Abundant Life Fellowship Classic Car Show

NEW WATERFORD - Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 state Route 46, will host its annual Classic Car Show from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 30 in its parking lot.

Registration will begin at 3 p.m. for the show, which is sponsored by The Belonging ministry for girls and women. All proceeds will go toward future Belonging events.

All makes and models of cars, trucks, motorcycles and dirt bikes are invited to participate. Trophies will be awarded in the following categories: Mayor's Choice; Pastors' Choice, Belonging Team Choice and Public Choice in first, second and third place, Public Choice for best truck and Public Choice for best motorcycle.

Dash plaques will be available for the first 50 entries.

A Chinese auction featuring a variety of gift baskets, gift cards and other items will be conducted as will a 50/50 raffle. Grill food including burgers, hot dogs, french fries along with nachos with cheese and salsa, desserts and beverages will all be available for purchase.
