LISBON -- A Cuyahoga Falls teen allegedly driving impaired on Feb. 2 is now facing charges for aggravated vehicular assault and OVI for causing injuries to two people in a two-vehicle crash that day in Knox Township.
Allison K. Canan, 18, was served Tuesday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury last week.
Charges include two counts of aggravated vehicular assault, a third-degree felony, and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them-OVI, a misdemeanor.
According to the indictment, Canan allegedly caused serious physical harm to Lukas R. Richards of Salem and Juliana J. Kesseg of Homeworth as a result of an OVI.
Columbiana County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Weikart said the crash occurred on Feb. 2 at Georgetown and Knox School roads when the defendant was driving impaired. Initially, he said it was called in as a one-vehicle rollover, but then the Ohio State Highway Patrol realized the crash involved a second vehicle occupied by Richards and Kesseg.
Bond in the case was set at $50,000 cash or surety, which Canan posted to be released from the county jail.
Arraignment is set at 1 p.m. July 30 in county Common Pleas Court before Judge Megan Bickerton.
Also served with secret indictments were:
-- Yvonna M. Parsons, 41, Forbes Road, Wellsville, fifth-degree felony possession of cocaine for allegedly possessing cocaine on Feb. 22.
-- Christopher D. Craft, 32, Main Street, Wellsville, fourth-degree felony possession of cocaine for allegedly possessing 5 grams to 10 grams of cocaine on March 5.
